Welcome back to Althea the Dragon Empire.
Weeks ago, Xanthias received a letter from his father, the gold dragon Oregonus.
The letter informed him that a sibling was en route to Ash and Rest to either convince Zanthius to return to Gildai and deliver the crown steel or to retrieve the crown steel themselves through any means necessary.
After returning from the Azar step and checking in with their friends, the heroes now focus their attention to this approaching sibling.
Xanthius tells the team about his dream with Sovereign, who offered aid in finding this brother, but was rejected by Xanthius.
As plans were made, Sister Superior Malady begins to teach Xanthius a special magical technique that is only usable by exceptionally talented mages.
This technique involves the magic user using their will to control the ambient essence in an area, also known as manor, to achieve a very personal and unique effect.
However, there is not enough time for Xanthius to master this technique before they must set out, hoping to encounter the brother outside of the town to prevent collateral damage to the civilians and guards.
They head out into the ash hills, accompanied by Sister Superior Malady and Sister Superior
Benedicta, and just outside the Ashen Citadel, where they once fought against the reclaimer cult,
they met a tall and powerfully built gold dragon-born heading in their direction.
Rexanath, Xanthius's brother, is not quite what the heroes are expecting.
He is mournful of his task and is another victim of Oregonus' cruelty.
But despite the party's efforts,
Rexanath's fear of Oregonus
should he fail in his mission
outweighs his fear of death at the hands of the PCs.
He asks the other heroes to step aside
and warns them that if they fight with Xanthius,
he will not hold back.
And before blades are drawn,
Rexanath asks Xanthius
that if they do defeat him
to make sure they destroy his body
and prevent him from being resurrected
so that Oregonus cannot punish him in the future.
And we find ourselves on that road, this dirt-worn trail, just off to the side of this ruin where once you had a very different battle encounter.
Xanthius stands a little ahead of the rest of the group.
Rowan having set up a little campfire and stew pot hoping that perhaps a meal could make this conversation go easier.
The wagon tied slightly behind you.
Rexeneth stands in the middle of the road,
and the last thing you saw was him throwing off this worn, dirty, well-maintained,
uh, sorry, not well-maintained cloak, revealing this powerful, muscular form,
dozens of weapons and equipment, you know, stashed all over his body,
and his, uh, left eye, um, completely corrupted by crown steel,
just this glowing red and yellow flame in it with corruption all of all around.
around the face and part of his neck and shoulder.
And that is where we find ourselves again today.
We do have a battle map to show off.
And as we show that off,
I would like everybody to roll fate.
Let's do that right away.
Obviously, I should point out as well,
we don't have Katie at the moment,
Katie's back home.
I believe Rihannon and Tom are going to be controlling Daisy today.
There's a lot of stuff here.
But Riannon's been giving
a little brief by me on some of the abilities,
but I have too much to control today,
so players are going to be able to D-D-D-D.
Right, let's do Fate, then, people.
What do we get?
Two.
So that is a dice for me.
I got a six.
That's a dice for you.
Six, I've broken my curse.
Nice, that's another dice for you.
Chris Trot.
Four.
Four, a dice for you as well.
I have to think, then.
And then another four.
Oh, so.
Four and one.
Four and one.
In your favor.
Guaranteed victory.
We are currently down a fate as well
because Daisy is not, you know, Katie's not present
so we're not going to roll for Daisy.
Yes.
However, there's a couple of things I want to just quickly chat about
before we jump into this encounter.
One thing I wanted to do was do a little bit of a warning
for the folks at home.
This is probably going to be a stressful fight.
This is, Rexanath is going to hold, not hold back.
He has come prepared for this fight
and he's not going to show mercy.
So the players are going to be in danger.
that is just something that's part of the game.
Combat is a part of it.
There is a risk of death.
There is a risk of defeat, and that is going to be part of it.
So do take care of yourselves.
Make sure you're not getting too upset or too worked up.
At the end of the day, it's part of the story
and whatever happens happens, right?
Not to say that like, and that is not to say
that I am trying to kill the players either.
My job is to be a neutral referee,
and I'm going to do my best to do that.
But it's not just mechanical.
I'm also here to make sure that I am adjudicating
the law of the world that's consistent with the world,
that we've established.
So even if something is not specific in the rules,
I'm going to be doing my job to be as fair as I can
with the law and the sort of just metaphysics of the world as well.
So that is something I just wanted to make very, very clear to everybody.
And we were briefed before that as well,
and we are all taking part and on board.
We know the fight is winnable.
Yes, it will always be winnable.
And we understand the motives of the character as well.
But there might be difficult mechanics and stuff ahead of you as well.
And also we trust Mara.
Exactly.
And we trust each other as well.
And we're here to tell a great story, right?
That's what we're all about.
I know that mechanics and rules, like some people get really sort of like,
that's that rule, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Please don't worry.
Like, we do run our own games.
It's got a lot of home brew and stuff like that.
With that.
One last point, though, for me, because I know a lot of people have been asking about this during the week.
I don't have enough components to cast Revivify.
So Revivify is off the table.
And before people are like, why don't you restock?
Mar and I spoke off screen a couple of weeks ago.
We did it in the episode.
There is no more diamond dust.
Ashen rest, there is no more available.
If you go to Palscarus or somewhere else,
you could have been able to buy some,
but sadly have it.
Yeah.
It's a rare resource, it makes sense.
In terms of Homebrew Mechanics, fate.
Now, you have two powerful NPCs joining you.
Sister Malady and Sister Benedicta are powerful MPC allies.
They have some pretty cool abilities.
They also have fate abilities.
Now, because they are enducels,
NPCs, they use fate from my pool.
Cool.
But the way to balance this so that we're not just,
you're not just, my NPCs aren't just spending the GM pool,
is their fate has to be recharged.
And it recharges on a six on their turn.
So they may not be able to do their fate abilities every turn, basically.
Okay.
So it just means...
Six on a D6. So I will use those abilities when it's narratively
or like character relevant to them,
but I will spend it from my pool,
but just keep in mind that they may not get that ability back.
So that is just to keep that as it goes.
Okay.
We've all got our own fate abilities as well.
Yes.
Some of you do.
Some of you do.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
So I would love for everybody to roll initiative.
Hokey-dokey.
Now that we've got that little bit of paperwork out the way.
Should I run for Daisy?
If you could, please, yeah.
Definitely not Tom.
Oh.
See?
That's why.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
I'm going to just do,
because I want to get this in a really nice.
So there's no opportunity prior to initiative.
To office due.
To.
It's food adjacent.
Okay.
Who to Jason.
Pocket's due.
To just speak.
You can speak as a free action,
but you're going to get like a few seconds of speech.
It's probably not going to be enough
for a compelling argument or anything like that.
Like we are rolling initiative.
On your turn, you can speak as much.
as you like.
No.
It's not going to happen.
I think this is after we both kind of nodded to each other
and said, all right, let's just do this then.
What about a hero's feast for 10 minutes?
Yeah, no.
No, no, no, no, no.
That's not happening.
But my stew.
It's more like a, what's one step down
from a hero's feast?
Heroes lunch.
A parlance lunch.
That's a real step down.
Okay, I have to do this in the...
I'm not to forget, all hero's luncheon.
It's pretty good.
I'm forget.
So, what was Daisy's initiative?
Daisy's initiative was a seven.
A seven, and then Ophelias.
Ophelius was a...
20.
20.
And then Xanthias.
Six.
Six.
Gruff.
I just didn't see this coming.
Dirty 20.
Dirty 20 as well.
Filthy.
Rowan.
16.
16.
And then I need to do Malady and Benedicta.
and I'm gonna transfer this to a different sheet.
So.
So, I've got a time to go out of any ways.
That's fine.
Five, six, six.
I've got gaseous form, so.
Oh, you're gonna rip one?
All right, okay.
It's gonna turn the tide of battle.
Real nasty.
Also, for the podcast,
the map itself is.
Yeah, can you do a description of it from the way?
The map itself, I won't put a picture on there
because we're in the middle of a road next to some ruins,
but we'll be as descriptive as we can.
can with all of our actions, so you shouldn't need to follow it too much.
But we have Rexanath at the front on his own,
looking down towards Xanthias, who was about 20.
Freshly custom-painted mini, I will say.
Custom-painted mini, that's right.
Zanthius is about 25 feet in front of him,
on his own amongst the group behind him,
about 15 feet behind of Gruff, Rowan and Ophelia.
And then behind them, Daisy and our two companions,
Malady and Benedicta.
And then there's a wagon as well behind them.
With...
Full stats.
With...
Rodry.
Rodry.
Is Rodry rolling initiative?
Is Rodry rolling initiative?
Rodry is a pacify...
He's a pack beast.
Unless he is...
By Yoshi Pez?
Unless he's attacked or in danger, he doesn't really attack.
Yeah.
We're not going to be using Yoshi Pez.
I do have a miniature for Roderie.
if you would like to have, well, I have a representation.
On the map.
Look at his mouth.
That's a boulet.
He's not actually a thing.
But he is off the map.
He's not actually in the encounter.
It's a fun to say.
Bule, bole, bole.
I guess, like, Ae attacks.
Bollet brothers.
There's a chance.
Bully, bole, bole.
Let's just heighten the attention
by adding Rodry into the fight.
He, well, if like, an AOE goes off near the wagon,
he will be affected by it.
Yeah, leave him out of this.
I know.
You can't put them there.
Gotta be legit with this.
But yeah, the arena of battle itself is a, what is this?
Like 40 foot wide road with some stone walls on either side.
Ruined walls.
And then the ruins towards the west.
But I don't imagine we're going to be traveling too far that way.
Daisy might actually.
Yeah.
Stacey could end that way.
Question.
Did I leave Gibson?
We haven't heard about Gibson since the precipice.
Since you immediately forgot about him.
Did he even come back?
Yeah.
Is he still in,
oh shit.
Oh,
my God.
Have we just left him?
I don't know if even left him.
We.
People have to be responsible
for their own pets.
That's true.
That is true.
Did I imagine Gibson?
One of the lightning strikes
didn't go towards her.
No.
We didn't even notice.
I'm missing something.
Must have to left the oven on.
Sorry that I am taking so much.
No, you're fine.
Sorry, I'm covering it quite well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're covering it.
Excellent.
I just want to make sure that I'm not missing anybody out.
There's going to be a lot of rules,
a lot of people to follow, a lot of things to double check and recheck.
We're going to make mistakes, ultimately.
We're going to make some big mistakes of the rules.
I play for all the time.
We're going to forget some things.
And if we do, sorry, you're human.
Speak for yourself.
Okay.
Okay.
So, as he pulls this enormous great spear back,
and launches himself into, you know, an aggressive stance.
He is very clearly about to rush Zanthius.
That is very clearly his goal is to rush to Rex Nath is currently like, you know,
slow motion like you see him begin to sprint towards Zanthius,
bringing up the spear, lowering it into an attack position.
But he is not the first to react.
Most of you, in fact, are perhaps waiting for this,
waiting for this moment, expecting it to turn this way,
or perhaps not, but enough that your protection
of protectiveness of Xanthus compels you to action.
And actually, Ophelia, you are going to be up first,
followed by Gruff.
Awesome.
Get it. Yeah, so I imagine, yeah,
as she's watching Rex don up and make his charge towards Xanthius,
Ophelia's own armour is going to come up as the carapace armour covers her.
And then she's going to, first of all, make a gesture towards Gruff,
put a hand on his shoulder, and just say,
I don't know how this fight is going to go.
but I promise you, I'm making a promise to you now.
No matter what happens,
I will do everything I can to make sure
that you keep control of yourself.
You will not lose your control as long as I'm near you.
And I'm going to use my hound tarot card.
You got a long time ago, I think like episode 20-ish 30
is something around there.
Long play.
So this is choose another creature and make a promise to them.
You have advantage on ability checks and saving throws
related to keeping your promise.
This lasts until the promise is broken.
that person dies or you do.
So keep that card as a reminder.
Yeah.
And just remind me of that promise again?
So the promises...
Maybe right hit on the back of the card as well.
So my promise is to do everything I can to help...
If anything happens to Gruff's...
Loses control, will.
Lus his will.
Then Affiliia will do anything she can
to break him out and return him to reality.
Love that, yeah.
Just make a note of that promise so we know what that is,
but I love that.
Forever until the promise is broken or I kept,
or until gruff dies or things like that.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
I'll make a note about it.
Huge.
Then you will go into her rage.
Shut up.
Shut up.
Just as you do that, I'll put a pore on your hand.
I accept your oath, sister Ophelia.
Together until the end.
And then bonus action, you rage,
you see the whole world becomes red and black.
These shades of red and black and gray as that,
the thumb, the thumb, the thumb,
as you feel your heartbeat, you begin to like see Rex's heartbeat beating fast.
You see, you feel the heartbeats all around you, the blood rushing through their veins.
I think that with that rage as well, like you see in Rex like this is another warrior.
Their, their heart is smooth, controlled, but that blood is strong and fierce in their veins.
This is somebody who has been hardened in the crucible of battle.
I think I'm going to give you a little insight.
well, specifically because your style of rage,
Rex and ath, Rex is in peak physical condition,
but there is an immense amount of power.
Like, this is not just somebody who's trained
and worked hard.
You almost get the sense, and I think maybe because
of Ophelia's background, you almost sense in the blood,
like, it's not present now, but you can sense it long ago,
like, he has been alchemically modified.
Like, he's had like alchemical treatments
to make him stronger, to make him stronger,
to make him faster.
He's kind of like a super soldier Captain America,
kind of like, he's had some sort of alchemical process
to make him more powerful.
And so, yeah, you fly into a rage bonus section.
What else would you like to do?
I'd like to charge towards Rex and try and meet him.
Okay, so.
So do half my movement in a range.
So you go, half your movement, so 25.
25 gets you in front of Zanthius.
Straight in front of him.
Like this, bam.
Yep.
And I'm going to make two.
I'm going to make...
So you, like, rush before he even takes.
takes a step, like you red line behind you,
like, Castlevania style.
I'm slow motion next to Ophelia,
blasting past me, and just,
p-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-hra.
Bruttle strike this guy.
It's going to last, don't you.
So, that is a...
Don't forget fate as well is you currently have a lot of fate
in the pool.
Unnatural 20, it might be good to save for same for us.
Unnatural 20.
Yeah.
I am going to have him use one of his reactions to parry.
So he increases his AC against that attack.
Cool.
He boosts his AC to beyond the 20 to hit.
Awesome.
And so as you go to the thing, he sort of like,
almost like glances at you and there's almost like a look of respect.
And as you thrust with the thing forward,
he brings that spear up in lightning speed
and almost uses his forearm to flick it up
and it just kind of knocks your blades sky high.
Yeah.
But that's only against the first attack.
So he's used that reaction.
Yeah, I feel it will go over that momentum,
spin around and try and pierce the blade into him.
And brutal strength, because you've used it, you can't use it again now, right?
Okay.
So that is, yeah, that's not going to hit.
That's a 9 plus 7.
So.
I mean, it's still might be here, but yeah, it's, yeah.
Nine plus seven is going to be 16.
16 is not enough.
Again, sort of as you get knocked off, he almost takes that moment to sidestep.
And by the time you've brought the second spear down, he just dodges to the side as it slips past him.
This is a skilled warrior.
That parry, like, was impressive.
You would have hit him if it hadn't been for that.
Yeah.
Amazing.
Okay.
That's my full turn.
Yeah.
Okay.
Hey, do I want to, I don't think I do actually want to use any of my feet yet.
Gruff, you are up next.
Rowan, you will be after Gruff.
So I like to imagine that in comparison to Sister Felia, like,
just shooting off like a rocket, like Gruff slowly walks up behind Xanthius,
donning the kind of armour of oak and thorns.
Bone section, armour of oak.
As it does, I will stop by Xanthias.
20.
Put a paw on his shoulder.
Would buy your side, boy, oh.
And as he does, Seren, kind of who's been on gruff shoulder, spreads her wings
and perhaps just clips Santhias on the back of the head.
But you feel like a little magic tingle as I'm weak ass.
It's blood.
She's actually just stabbed you in the back of the neck.
And you're dead now.
Shish, shh, shh, shh.
It's so dark.
It's solved a problem, isn't it?
Feast down.
No, a little chill touch as magic spreads through body.
I am casting freedom of movement at fifth level,
so it will affect both you and me.
Basically, for the next hour,
you are unaffected by difficult terrain
and spells and other magical effects that reduce your speed,
and you cannot be paralyzed or restrained.
And you can also spend five foot of movement
to get our non-magical restraints or grapples.
Okay.
So that's your action.
You do have 10 feet of movement left if you'd like to use it gross.
Is that a concentration?
No.
Oh.
It is just for one hour.
Damn, okay.
That's you and me.
Write that down.
Write that down.
So you've bonus action, armor, evoked on action spell,
but you do have 10 feet of movement left.
I am simply going to take up a position in front of Xanthius.
Okay.
And not in terms of mechanics, but just RP.
Extend my shield in front of him, take up a defensive shield.
You are being the bulwark to protect your ward.
Yeah.
Amazing.
Rowan, I mean, I'm just gonna, you know,
I don't have a lot of fate right now,
so, you know, he's kind of warming up.
What AC does Daisy have?
A.C. is 16.
I'm going to whip out my Wander the Sculter
as I'm walking towards Anthes as well.
I'm going to cast bark skin on Daisy
and give her an ASE of 17.
It is from the Wond of the Sculter,
so it is not pleasant.
It is, yeah, like, Daisy.
I'm so sorry, Daisy.
Daisy is, perfect.
Daisy's skin takes on almost like an armadillo-like scale.
She's like, oh, what's happening?
I don't like this.
Sorry, it's good for you.
It's good for you.
I hate it.
Your skin is all barked now.
Yeah, and it becomes like this almost armadillo like scale,
but yeah, increases the AC to 17.
Run or run over.
So that's your action.
Yeah, and then move.
No, no, no, bonus action.
Oh, is it a bonus action?
The cross bark skin, amazing.
Tiz.
Well, don't forget, you can't cast another spell
though, this turn, apart from a cantrip, so.
But it was a wonder the sculptor.
Doesn't matter, still can't cast more than one spell.
You dozy, yeah.
Backseat in over here.
Up to Xanthius.
Next to him.
Behind him.
In front of him.
Next to him.
Someone else to stab in the back of the head.
So yeah, you march, you walk towards the end of the,
you know, down the road and you stand beside Xanthius.
Yeah, unfortunately you can only do a can trip now this time.
I wish we didn't have to come to this, Zanthius,
but we're with you.
He looks really strong.
It looks very strong.
We got this.
We got this.
I will do stuff next in six seconds.
Would you like to hold your action?
I can't really.
Okay.
You could take the dodge action.
Can I?
If Xanthias leaves my opportunity range,
can I cast heroism mind?
Yeah, because it's not on your turn.
I would allow it, yeah.
So as you leave my five foot range,
I'm going to cast heroism mind.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, perfect.
That's my reaction.
That does mean you spend the spell slot
and you're concentrating on the spell
currently and temporarily.
So you might get disrupted before that goes off.
Yeah.
I'm trying to hop in a way.
One quick reminder as well.
Again, there's a lot of mechanics.
Don't forget, as always,
everybody on their turn can make a free knowledge check
about a mechanic.
As a unique thing to this fight,
because you have Malady with you,
in place of your check,
you can ask Malady to make a check for you.
So you can be like, Malady, how does this work?
Or like, you can ask like,
what's going on with this?
Because she's very, very knowledgeable.
So, for example, if some of you are like,
my intelligence is crap,
I'm not really good at this.
You can have Mallady make that check for you on your turn.
But she can only do it once per round.
So one person can ask Malady to do a check for them instead.
No, she's souped up check.
Yeah, I mean she's very good.
She has like a plus nine to most skills.
Damn.
So she's very good.
Right.
So that is Rowan Stern.
You're now holding your action.
Yes.
We then go to Sister Superior Benedicta.
She is going to,
she doesn't want to get too far
Five, ten, fifteen.
She doesn't wanna get too far from Malady,
her sister.
I have two miniatures here,
Malady is the one with the spear.
I'm using a shadow heart miniature for her,
and then Benedicta is the knight in plate.
She just has a great sword and sort
set of a sword and shield.
She does wanna get too far away from Malady,
so I think that what she will do is she will just step forward,
and she will,
she will ready,
an action that if he gets within range of her,
she will make an attack against him.
But she doesn't seem to get more than about 15 feet away from Malady.
She's trying to stay close to Malady for now.
So low move.
We then go to Daisy.
Cool.
Yeah, I think Daisy will move to where that pile of bricks is
over on the east side.
Westside?
West side.
West side.
15, 20, 25, 30.
Can get about here.
She'll get a flanking position.
Yeah, she'd try and get her to dash maybe,
so she can...
She could get a bonus action dash, yeah?
Yeah, I'll do that, bonus action dash behind there.
10, 15, 20.
Yeah.
Okay.
And then action.
Shall I get her to fire her bow towards Rex?
Whoa.
Yeah, let's see.
Yeah?
Give it a go.
Give it a go.
Okay, so she's going to get...
I would say if you want her to make the attack,
right now she's like completely,
she'd need to move up for the end here.
But she can do it, then she can poke around, yeah.
All right, so she pulls out her bow,
fires a piercing shot towards Rex for an 18.
18.
She got any abilities that will boost that?
She does.
Oh no, she has to be using her psychic blades,
I think, to be able to use that.
An 18 will not hit just barely.
All right, no problem anymore.
Without the parry.
He just sort of, without the power, he brings,
he almost seems to sense the arrow,
and so he brings his, like, armoured shoulder puldron up,
and it bounces off of his armour.
Well, it was useful.
We now know the threshold.
Yes, I will tell you that his base AC now is 19,
as that was literally one point below it.
Yeah.
Cool, awesome.
I think that's everything then for Daisy for now.
Okay, perfect.
Yeah.
All right.
I'm afraid to say Rex and Ath goes before Xanthias.
Oh, goody.
Goody, guys.
There's some real older brother stuff.
I know.
He can sense this, like, you know, you're surging towards him.
Ophelia's stopped his charge.
Like, he kind of almost hesitates now, sort of not dashing forward,
and sort of looks at you, looks around...
Very well.
And as his bonus action, he reaches up to his left pardron,
where you can see there is a quite a dull-looking gemstone.
And nobody else is close enough to see it,
but Ophelia, you can see that there is some sort of weird ruin
that you can't read.
That is on it.
And he touches it, and under his breath,
speaks the draconic word for, like, activate, basically.
And you watch as a green 10-foot field
projects out from around him,
your armor immediately retracts.
Whoa.
You need, your AC, I believe, without your armor is, I think, 16.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Also, again, this is a mechanical thing.
You don't gain any magical item bonuses
whilst you are in this field.
Oh, shoot.
As he projects this field around him.
Whoa.
He is then going to, that is his bonus action.
He is then going to attack you, Ophelia,
with the butt of his staff.
Let's go.
With his spear, sorry.
That is going to be a 16 to hit.
which I believe will now hit you because your AC has been lowered.
This is cool.
Oh my god, max damage right off the bat.
That is going to be 24 bludgeoning damage,
so you would half that to 12.
However, he then gets to push you 10 feet.
Oh, pushing for it!
Yes, 10.
He then will charge in.
Oh, sick.
You will get an attack of opportunity against him, Ophelia.
Um, once he moves past you, um, your armor doesn't come back on because it's been deactivated,
but once he's outside of 10, once you're 10 feet, you're not in this field anymore, you can
feel veracity like the magic comes back to life.
Cool.
Gruff and Xanthius and Rowan, none of you or any magic items and no spells currently work.
All of the spells that you just cast are no longer active, any magic items that you have.
Your mithril armor, you just lose one AC from it because the mithril property
still gives you the chain mail property,
but you lose any magical bonuses.
So armor of Oakenthorn goes.
Armour of Oakenthorn goes, freedom goes.
Freedom of movement goes.
Armour of Oakenthorn is a magical conjured armor,
so I am gonna rule that it's gone.
And it's-Mage armor?
Your major armor is gone.
Zanthius, I have, we never had no major armor before.
That's really bad.
Yeah.
Your runes around your chest deactivate,
as they are the art of your magic.
No.
It's an aura sensor on the in him, right?
It's a moose to him.
That gem.
That gemstone that he touched is glowing in the same green magic
that this field is projecting.
Zanthius.
My AC is not good without major armor guys.
Well, also, you feel that your chest,
like, there's this relief, but there's also this pressure.
Like, you can feel your heart hurting
as the crown steel is not being protected,
as you also begin, you hear a voice.
A face.
Ah, seems you have let your defenses down,
or is it even?
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
As you are not currently protected
as your ruins are disabled.
That is one of his attacks.
Would you like to make an opportunity attack?
Please do as he's moved past you.
Can I add fate to that?
You absolutely can, yes, please do.
Awesome, so that is 18-9-29-21-21.
26 to hit.
That's a hell of an opening.
That's the opening.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And this is kind of why I wanted to make it clear.
So do spend a bit of time, just go through,
make sure any magic items, if you have any magical bonuses.
For example, Daisy will have a minus one
to her hit and damage because her bow is magical.
So she's far away, right?
She is, but if she were to say, fire an arrow in.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Okay, okay.
How would Tharakvul
So it still functions as an axe.
You still get to use your wisdom
because that's a training thing,
but you lose the plus one and the fire damage.
So you'll have a minus one to attack and damage
and you won't be able to do the fire damage with it.
Because your primal damage that you get
is a magical benefit.
Primal strike.
Yeah, primal strike.
But you can still fight as normal.
You just get the minus one.
Yeah.
Right, yes, Robin, I've still got to,
like, let's do this opportunity,
then I'm gonna go to run.
Because I've still also got two more attacks I need to make.
So it's 25 to hit.
25 hits him, yeah, absolutely hits him.
So straight up 1D8 plus 6.
Yeah, you would have been in the anti-magic field
when this attack happened.
So no necrotic.
No necrotic.
No necrotic.
And my, yeah, because Veracity doesn't have a plus one.
So yeah, just no necrotic damage on this.
Okay, so straight up, that is a...
Do you get your rage bonus, though?
Because that's non-magical.
That's just, that's nine then.
Nine piercing damage.
Nine piercing damage.
No resistance to the piercing damage.
That does strike him.
You kind of find a gap in his armor as he goes past.
You hear like a grunt.
And that's about it as he stepped past.
So it's a gem on his shoulder.
Gem on his paldron, and that's pulsating and creating the magical field.
What does the run look like?
I know, I can't read it, but has it got like a...
It's very jagged.
I would say you would recognize it in a similar style to the runes
on the runes stone of hearth and home.
The giant's room.
You can't read it.
Can't read it.
So, Andronic.
Rowan, before I make my other attacks, yes, you've got your hand up.
My song of stone.
Yes.
Does that transcend magic?
It's magic.
I'm afraid.
But bardic inspiration is not magical.
So, but all of your, but your moats are magical.
So you can still barriced inspiration.
This is why I've been thinking a lot about,
like, what is the source of magic,
what comes from magical abilities.
And again, I'm trying to be fair to the logic
and the lore of the world, basically.
Stay out that bubble.
That bubble is nasty.
Zambius, I'm afraid I've still got two attacks.
Yeah.
And this is not with the blunt end of his start spear.
This is with the actual spear.
Okay, well, just so you're aware,
My AC without Mage armor is 11.
Mm-hmm.
Unless I roll a one, I can't miss you.
So I hit you 24 to hits.
What happens if you do double?
In different systems, it would be a critical hit.
Okay, well, not this one, though.
Not this one.
Okay, does it go on, yes, gruff?
Does Warden's duty go off because my armor has gone down?
No, I think that you, because it's your training to protect.
So you can still warn's duty if you would like.
Oh, yeah.
You're gonna take the hit?
Okay, so Gruff takes the hit.
That is gonna be 10, 11, 21, 27 piercing damage,
and he applies, he has weapon mastery,
so he uses the SAP feature,
you have disadvantage on your next attack roll.
That is his second attack.
That is his second attack.
XP?
90.
We need to get statsy now.
We need to mid-max of shit.
Well, hang on for his third attack.
So you jump in the way, Gruff.
He's not expecting that.
he's just like, too protective.
And he kind of almost uses the momentum
to push you aside, spin,
and then he strikes at Xanthius,
because you've now used your reaction on the Woon's Duty.
What's this, though?
That's a 30 to hit.
That was nearly a crit.
Right.
Not as much damage, Gruff's the really big damage.
21 piercing damage,
and you also have disadvantage
in your next attack to hit.
So it's on every attack?
Every time he strikes a new,
target yes you can't double it up on the same person okay if you're wondering my
HP is now 69 nice let's just stop there and it's just gonna stay there and that is
gonna be the end of his current turn we then go to Xanthius you cannot cast spells yeah you
have no magic you do hear a voice if you let me I don't need you right now I don't
need you right now and then I know you're situation
Okay, go for it.
What would you like to do?
Hang up.
A disengage is an action, yes.
It is an action.
So how far do I need to get more than 10 feet away from it?
Mm-hmm.
I have to.
So you're gonna disengage?
I have to.
When you disengage, he uses his second reaction
as he basically has the sentinel feet.
And when you try, if you provoke an opportunity
to attack or take the disengage action,
he gets to make an attack against you.
So I still do the action?
No.
Well, so if he hits you, which he probably will,
your speed becomes zero until the end of your turn.
But...
Freedom movement's gone.
No, but...
It's in the anti-magic.
Oh, that was such a good idea as well.
I know.
19 to hit?
Yeah.
So this strike isn't with the spear.
As you go to like run, like you kind of wait
and you turn to like dash away,
he just punches you in the stomach.
And that is going to be 11 points of bludgeoning damage, Zantheus,
and you gain the winded condition.
Is that a...
It's a special condition.
Okay.
When you are winded, a winded creature can choose to spend an action removing the condition
or act normally.
If they act normally, they gain one exhaustion level at the end of their turn and are no longer windy.
So you either choose to keep acting or you basically like have to spend a turn and be like,
oh, and getting your energy back.
And also, yeah, he stops you moving with that as his reaction.
He is now out of reactions.
He gets two reactions.
Oh my God.
Oh.
speed is currently zero.
My God.
Oh my God.
Oh, my God.
Is there a redmondant this anti-magic field on the...
I could put like a moon beam down temporarily, but it's 10 feet around it.
10 feet around it.
10 feet around him.
Yeah.
So if you just count the squares, it's 10 feet all around him.
I thought it was 20.
No, no, it's 10 feet all around him.
Yeah.
It is still your turn, but yeah, your action is to disengage and then he does that.
So you have a bonus action and that's it.
But like, can I even like convert runes?
I guess I can't even generate runes.
I'm afraid that you're runic magic is magic,
and right now, no magic will work around him.
When you even think about magic,
it's like your mind is being scrambled in the very air.
Like, you've trained with Malady about sensing essence.
That gem and this field is like pushing all of the essence out of that field.
So there is nothing for the magic to, like, feel like there's nothing to empower magic right now.
It's like nullifying all the magic around with 10 feet around him.
So you said there was a green glow that came up when he activated it.
Is it on the ground or is it like...
It's like a bubble around it.
But it's faint.
It's like you see very, very faint ruins like in the air
and there's a faint green shimmer.
It's not like a big, like, you know, opaque bubble.
But there is a faint green field about 10 feet all around it.
And it matches the same glow as the gemstone.
Okay.
So I only have a bonus action.
I imagine if I were to try to interact with that gemstone on his pildron,
that's probably an action, right?
Right.
To, like, grab it?
Yeah, like, I don't know if it's detachable.
I don't know if I can put a hand on it.
And, yeah, like, man, I don't think I can do anything.
As I said, he came prepared and he knows his mission, right?
Yeah.
The fact that, like, you two managed to get in his way is like,
oh, damn it.
I genuinely was, like, just going to go up and hit Xanthia three times
if I got the initiative.
So, um.
Is wild shape for Groff?
Is that technically magic?
Okay.
Yeah.
The druid's power is a source of magic.
It comes from magic.
I am ruling that it is a magical ability.
Same with like the song of Stone and things like that.
You know, right now I would say like Aphelia's Rage and like Daisy sneak attack,
they work normally because they're mundane abilities.
Like your combat, you can fight.
You still get your two attacks.
You can still warden's duty.
Anything even remotely magical is not going to function.
about Stowe's endurance.
That will still work for you
because it is an innate thing of the Yotnir.
Like character feature.
Speaking of character features,
my speed is zero.
Yes.
In regards to having just been punched in the stomach
and obviously my walking speed and stuff,
if I was to use my draconic flight.
Remember, you project it as magic wings.
It's magic, I'm afraid.
Oh, is in the flavor of it?
Yeah, okay, fair enough.
That makes sense.
You always described it as like magical fiery wings.
It means it's magic.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is the thing, and again, it's not specific in the rules,
it says it's a magic thing.
I am ruling that because we have always described it as magic.
Yeah, no, yeah, yeah, that's fair enough.
That's how I wanted it anyway.
Can I, I just want to find a way in my panic
to deactivate this field then?
Okay, so you want to make a check?
Yeah, I just want to make a check.
So you can make an Arcana check.
I'd say Arcana check is the only way to go on this one.
Arcana, let me fate that one.
Yeah, do you want to do it, or do you want to ask Malady to do it?
Plus 9.
She's pretty...
She's pretty...
Plus nine.
I've got plus four, but then I can use fate on it as well.
It's true.
It's true.
If you want to do it, by all means.
I've just been...
You have to roll as six for it to be better than maladies.
So the winded thing will be on your next turn,
by the way, because you already spend your action this turn.
Yeah, I'm sorry.
I don't think I would even think to ask...
No, sure, so you're gonna spend a fate.
The ruin is right in my face.
I'll give it a go.
Oh, I also need to get rid of that,
because I can get to do it.
I should also, if I remember at the start of his turn,
there were three fate on your ball.
Yes.
Yeah.
Good to know.
Yeah, I think when he punched me in the stomach,
I just went down.
It just, like, you're like literally head spinning and reeling.
I rolled that one with a two on my fate.
Oh, no.
So, so that's, I think, that's your turn.
That's me.
I am, Donzo, my room's down.
I am bricking shit.
Okay, we then go to Sister Superior Malady.
She will make a free check
because nobody's asked her to yet,
so she can make a free Arcana check.
Oh, Malady. Why?
13.
She will just say, magic, around him, I can't sense it.
I, well, it's some, I don't know what is powering this.
It must be something to do with the gem, but I,
and she's sort of struggling, like, to figure it out.
Roll a three on, like, a roll.
Okay.
So, what she will do, though, is she will,
do, will she use a thing?
Yeah, this would help.
you guys so I think she would do that she's gonna use her fate action oh she's gonna
move up next to her sister and you see she sort of brings her her her she lets
her staff sort of hovers next to her she brings out her hands and you watch as like
shadowy tendrils of arcane magic sort of flow out dive into the ground and
begin to sort of elongate all of the shadows around she's gonna use her fate
action which will be spent from my pool to do shadow tactics all
All allies within 30 feet can move half their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
And the next attacks against them have disadvantage.
As like bits of shadow sort of almost pull themselves up, creating duplicates, as you get
an opportunity to step away if you want to.
So is that like one stack per person?
Yeah, you get one, the next attack against you is disadvantage and you all can move up to
half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
As I believe, let's just see if I feel it, five, ten.
15, 20, 25, 30.
Aphelia is just out, unfortunately, I think.
But, yeah, Phelia and Daisy.
So Gruff, Santhius and Rowan can all move up to 15 feet.
And actually, Benedicta will move 15 feet as well,
and she's actually gonna move 5, 10, 15 next.
She's actually gonna go in.
That's good.
She gets the stack as well, right?
But I say stack, you know what I mean?
Yeah, she gets in the desert.
Yeah, she's protected.
Although when she's inside the field,
that shadow protection goes away,
because it's a magical effect.
So this is only if you're outside of the 10 foot bubble.
Do you get the disadvantage?
So we don't get it.
You get it, but only if you're more than 10 feet away from him.
You just have to step out.
Move away from him.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, all right.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm on the same page.
You got it.
So are you guys moving?
We can do it now.
Oh, we can do it now.
Yeah, yeah, you do it now.
Yes, no, that's what I'm saying.
You get the movement now.
If I move out, and then Xanthis moves out,
Does that trigger my reaction?
So I can do heroism outside of the 10 foot bottle?
Yes, I would say so, yeah.
Yeah, I would allow that.
I will hop out and then as soon as Xanthia's hops out.
So you can move up to 15 feet.
You can do 20 feet because you've got 40 feet of movement, right, Graf?
35.
35, so, yeah, it's still going to be 15.
I think role play wise, I'd see him get winded
and I'd just pull him back with me.
Sure, okay.
Yeah, so.
If you're willing to.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I don't leave your...
and I'd be bestowing heroism upon you.
So do you want to go to their Rowan?
Like basically, take him as 15.
And then...
Five, ten, fifteen.
Yep, and then Gruff, what do you wanna do?
I will actually just step across.
So where Xanthius, almost like in tandem with Rowan,
Rowan put them back and I step across.
Okay, so next assist to Benedict basically.
Yeah, it's a block.
Zanthius.
Okay, uh, right.
Roons reenable.
Yes, so you feel your runes come back online, Zanthias.
That voice goes to you.
silent, you and Rowan both feel magic return to you.
And yeah, that's it.
It's 3.10 HP.
And it comes back every round whilst you're not anti-magic.
And you're immune to being frightened, I think, as well.
That was Malady's action.
She doesn't have any bonus actions to use currently,
so she will just, that will be the end of her turn.
And is freedom of movement completely gone?
It's not like it's just suppressed while we're in the field.
I believe it's suppressed whilst you're in the field.
So freedom movement has come back?
I'm going to say that's how it works.
It's a little bit unclear with the anti-magic field spell,
but I'm going to say that like, yeah.
It's not a mass counter spell.
No, it's a dampener whilst you're in the field, yeah.
The magic is present, but it has like no fuel while it's there.
And then as soon as you step outside,
as long as you're concentrating on, Graffville.
It's not a concentration.
Yes, that's right.
So yeah, so it does come back online.
Same as if you left the field, your armor of Oak and Thorn would come back
on line. Sweet.
Nice.
I don't know else to feel a pair of cut just then?
Don't.
Oh, so.
So, that means my armor, major armor comes back?
It would be come back online, yes.
Good.
Okay.
My armor.
And I think at the end of Malady's turn, I'm going to spend my first fate legendary.
Let's go, Mommy.
And...
I don't like how scared you are by you saying that you're going to do this.
It's too fate to activate.
Oh, it's big.
Gruff kind of sees you all pull away,
and he sees Malady's kind of doing these shadow tactics.
A feel is kind of being surrounded.
He's just like,
hmm, perhaps these odds are a little too much.
And he pulls from his, like, bandolier,
four black crystal blades,
and he throws them out.
When they impact into the ground,
he throws them like several, you know,
about 30-ish feet away from him.
When they impact into the ground,
the crystals begin to transform.
as four shadowy figures here around here.
Oh no.
Hello.
Okay, okay.
So, one behind the wall, kind of towards Daisy
close to Ronan, Zanthius.
I think we've done a good start,
so if we quick save now.
We can reload.
We can reload at this point.
I prefer a scrub save.
Okay, we totally do.
Start from episode one.
Yeah.
Another shadow warrior has gone way off.
Because that's the last time I saved.
Oh, I know.
Shit!
Oh, God, four!
There's one behind Xantheus and Rowan.
Directly behind me, yeah.
Yeah.
And then another one directly behind Benedictor is that?
No, Malady.
Malady.
Malady, yeah.
Right behind Malady.
So he kind of throws them out and then these shadow mercenaries begin to form.
And, yeah, and that they join the initiative, I'm afraid to say.
And the very first person to go in round two is actually the
Shadow Marksman.
Sharksman.
The Sharksman.
Which is, to unfair, that's worse.
Yeah.
And he is going to take a shot at,
I believe he's going to do two shots,
one at Malady and one at Xanthius.
Oh, my God.
I imagine you've got similar HPs.
25 to hit Malady.
Only an 11 to hit Xanthias.
Does not hit.
Does not hit.
I pull Rowan in front of me.
You pulled Rowan.
Where's my...
Where's my...
So you just stop when you say,
I pull Rowan.
Yeah?
Off.
Yeah.
So Malady takes a little bit of damage, not too much.
Seven points of damage.
Accrued.
However, she begins to emit a sort of shadowy aura.
She's shadow marked.
Sharked.
Sharked.
That is the marksman,
finds two shots, end of Marksman's turn.
What does that do?
We're going to fight.
Okay, shout out.
Yeah.
So again, you can on your turn,
make a check to check a mechanic.
You can also ask Malady to do it for you,
but that then uses up her check for the round.
Okay, do you want me to ask,
use Malady to ask about the Rune?
Okay.
Is that refreshed for her?
Yes, yeah, it's a new round, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, so can Feelead ask Malady anything,
like what does the Rune mean?
Sure.
If she describes to Malady, the shape of it and things like that.
What does Rune mean?
Natural 20.
Oh, okay.
Malady sort of gets like, she senses this thing behind her
and she's turning now to try and protect herself.
But as you call out to her, she's like, yes,
yes, Aphelia, it's a giant's ruin, a run of anti-magic,
but it is, they craft their items.
It's an ancient magic used to fight against dragons.
I think we can destroy the gemstone,
but you'll need to destroy it.
That should stop the spell.
Okay, cool.
It will be difficult.
They are expert craftsmen.
It will be difficult to strike.
He will protect it.
Thank you, Melody.
So as a point, you can choose to attack the runestone on him as a mechanic.
He can use any of his abilities like his parry.
He can use that against the runstone,
and it is harder to hit because it's a smaller target on him already.
So it is higher acy than he has.
Sweet, okay, cool, cool.
And he can parry to try and protect it.
All right.
I think Ophelia will use her movement to skirt around to face Rex.
Okay.
Staying more than 10 feet away?
Yes, yes.
Staying more than 10 feet away.
I see it.
I can move 50 feet.
So if I go...
Where do you want to go?
You can pretty much go anywhere, man.
If I go maybe here.
Yeah, perfect.
Okay.
Cool, yeah.
So it's close to Zanthia's fine, Groff and everyone.
Yeah, and then I will transform Veracity into a throwing weapon,
using where blood points.
Oh yeah.
And I will lob Veracity towards the run stone.
As you do that, Crescent blade, it's made of magic.
As soon as it enters the field.
It dissipates, I'm afraid to say.
It's a great idea, but unfortunately anything entering that field, if it is magical, if it's created by magic, it disappears.
Is my whip magical?
No, no, that is a mundane whip.
Yeah, that she will pull out her whip and throw that instead.
Yeah, perfect, yeah.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, well, you can just crack it.
You know, you just use the whip.
Oh, I crack the whip at him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's cool.
Okay, perfect.
And are you going for the runstone or him?
The runstone.
Okay, perfect.
just make sure that's very clear when you describe the attack.
Cool, okay.
All right, do you want to spend fate as well?
I shall spend fate, yes, please.
And I will try and brutal strike this,
so he will have advantage aid to me next turn.
Okay.
Unnatural 20.
Unnatural 20.
Did you add your...
I did.
Unnatural 20, again, because it's slightly high-racey,
it doesn't actually strike the run stone.
He turns at the last minute and sort of it hits his armour,
doesn't hit him.
Or the runstone.
Cool.
Close, though.
Yeah.
I will tell you now that the runes stone.
The Roomsstone's AC is 21.
It's two points higher than its base AC.
Okay.
Because it's a small target on him.
He's already moving around.
Okay.
Then that is my whole turn then.
That is your turn.
Yep.
Okay.
If we found a way to reduce his AC, would that reduce both of them?
Yes.
So his is just plus two on that thing.
The Roonstone is basically it's plus two AC to his AC.
Got it.
Now, again, keep in mind, magically, you can't reduce his AC once.
Yeah.
We go to Gruff.
It is Gruff's turn.
I'm just going to straight up try and attack the run stone.
I have this advantage from stat.
You do from sap, yeah, though.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a miss of four and a 15.
It's your first attack, and the sap is only on the first attack,
so that's gone now.
So now if you attack again, it's just a normal roll.
I will use fate on my second attack.
Very smart, very smart.
Okay.
No.
Rolled a four again.
So again, you go to strike, but he blocks it
and parries it with his great spear.
15, yeah.
Yeah, unfortunately, it blocks that one.
I see.
You know where to strike. It won't help you.
I mean, it's pretty, bloody obvious.
You've got a big, bloody ruin on you?
With that, end of your turn, Grah.
I don't say that. He thinks that. He's thinking it.
He thinks that.
That's all I got.
End of your turn? Yep.
All right, the sword shadow mercenary, the one with the two swords,
is going to, unfortunately, he's just going to attack Malady,
and as is shadow marked as advantage on the attack roles.
It's like guiding ball.
It's like guiding ball.
that is gonna hit the first attack.
I think that seeing her sister in danger,
the first attack goes through,
the second attack is also gonna go through.
I think on that second attack,
Benedicta is gonna use her Marta's shield,
one of her three times per day,
she gets to move 15 feet and become the target of the attack instead.
Oh, absolutely.
Well, you can't, sadly.
So, Malady will take the first attack.
I guess it was.
Hmm?
She's gonna be,
Oh, what?
Law dump.
And then Benedicta, will he still hit Benedict,
yes, it will.
It probably comes from a little.
I imagine so, you know.
So did Rowan.
You just hear like, Melody, get down,
as she like darts back,
kind of slams the sword in and tries to take the attack instead.
Yeah.
That is the sword mercenaries turn done.
The shield mercenary now is gonna go.
They are going to, yeah, they're gonna attack Ophelia
and Xanthius again.
So they're gonna make two attacks, one against each.
Which one is the shield, shadow mercenary.
The one of the shield makes to think.
He's gonna slam his shield into you, Ophelia.
That is gonna be a 24 to hit.
Yeah, that'll hit.
Your AC is back up because you're outside the field as well, don't forget.
So that's going to hit you.
And then Xanthius with his sword.
That is going to be a 23 to hit.
Yeah.
All right.
So, Ophelia, you are taking six points of bludgeoning and one-fourth damage.
So three normal and then the one-force.
But you then pushed 10 feet.
Oh, hello.
You are being thrown around like a ragged.
I love it.
And then Xanthias.
Shall I sword.
That is going to be.
12 points of slashing and three force.
Okay, doke.
What's the shadow debuff from the crossbow called again?
Shadowmarked, yeah.
It gives them advantage,
or it gives the shadow mercenaries advantage
on a shadow mark target.
No longer on 69AVee.
I gave you that one for free.
Red alert, red alert, guys.
I gave you that one for free.
Rowan, it's Rowan's turn, and then Benedicta.
No, no, no, he just has this like,
she'll bash kind of move.
Cool.
Good above table question.
Yes.
Providing armor for a sorcerer, does that stop you casting spells?
No, but if they're not proficient in it, they have loads of disadvantages.
And I don't believe Xanthius is proficient in any armor.
No, no armor.
I was thinking about performance of creationing some chain mail for you.
Oh.
To have some base.
It has to be in unoccupied space.
You can't put it on a person.
I'd put it above, and it would just...
No.
Thumbs up!
You've worn chain mail.
You know that doesn't work.
It doesn't work, it would just hit him on the head.
You could have a performance of creation a shield.
Can you?
You would still have disadvantage if you use it.
You need your hands.
You're not proficient in a shield.
And you need your hands to cast.
Just a tiny little buckler?
Tiny, yeah.
I just have this image now of Xanthius being incinerated,
but like the buckler remains.
And then like Wiley Coyote, like, tch.
I would maybe hold on to you that.
I don't think that plan is necessarily in a way.
Yeah.
So what I'm going to do instead is,
is Benedict to then Daisy after the Shadowmakers.
Cool, cool.
I'm not leaving you Zanthius, I'm leaving five, ten, fifteen, twenty,
to behind the walls south of Xanthius,
kind of knew where Daisy is, and I'm going to begin the song of Stone.
Okay, okay.
Which will give everyone 60 feet around me plus one AC as long as they're not in the
anti-magic field.
Yes, so graph currently is 60 feet around here.
I believe you've been pushed back within
and back in, yeah.
60 feet should be most of the man.
And also I can keep it up so if you ever come out,
you get plus one AC.
Yeah, and you can also spend a fate to reduce damage.
And as a reaction, yeah.
And that is just a thing you can do,
you keep playing it, you can still cast spells
and do other things as well.
The song of Stone Eminates.
Stone, Stone, Stone, Stone, Stone, to,
Stone, to Stone, to.
Dude, it's more like a beat.
You are better than this.
Yeah.
You are so much better than that.
So much more talented musically, to be better than that.
Change it.
Change it.
Change it.
Change it now.
Change it!
Damn, what's it like getting roasted by Tom Hay?
It's also the song of stone is like a rhythm.
It's like the drum beat basically.
It's specifically it is a rhythm.
No, no.
No.
Yeah, it's Times people are digging up,
doing up the ground, where the rocks are.
I didn't mean pretty.
No, please, we're not doing Game of Thrones.
We're not getting a copyright straight.
No, no, you know.
It's time team.
It's time.
Stone Stone's Stone.
Stone to stone.
No.
Right, rest of turn, please.
Well, that's gonna be the end of your turn.
That's my action.
That's your action.
And I'm not doing the bonus action, so that is the end of my turn.
Okay, that's your end of your turn.
I'm going to do a check.
No, I don't need to. It's the end of turn.
Okay. Benedicta's turn.
She will turn round to all of you and just be like,
we will try and deal with these shadows.
You try and focus on the brother.
and she is going to dive forward with her great sword
and make an attack against this sword-wielding shadow.
That is going to be a hit.
And because it is a hit, she's gonna use her holy smite
as she's not within the 10 feet magic field.
Great.
So she gets to add 48 of damage to this.
48?
Yeah, 48, yeah.
Basically it's a third level divine smite, basically.
Nine, 13, 13 slashing damage plus.
22, 29, 35 points of damage to the shadow sword.
Hell yeah.
This one, sword, d five.
That seems to almost, like it bloodies this creature immediately.
There is no blood, they seem to be like created of magic.
They don't appear to be undead, they don't seem to react to the divine light,
but this heavy magical blow staggers it and causes it to shrug back and its form begins to dissoning.
and you can see it's almost becoming wispy
as if it was bleeding away as she has bloodied it.
That was her first attack.
She will then make her a regular second attack against it.
That will also hit for 11, 15 points of damage again.
Great.
You know, in two hits, she's severely weakened this creature.
And when she'd be like, sister, get somewhere safe,
and kind of point behind her.
That is one use of March.
shield, one use of highly smite done.
Perfect, okay, that is Benedict's turn.
Right, the Shadow Magus, which is this mage down here,
is going to see Daisy hiding behind that wall,
and he's going to use a shadow bolt against Daisy.
She will get plus 2 AC for the cover,
however, I don't think it's gonna help against the 25.
Plus one from Song of Stone.
Plus,
Barstead, so 13, 17,
No, 17 is there.
17, sorry.
Plus 3, it's still 20.
25 is still going to hit her, unfortunately.
It was good, you well remembered.
Like, really, really well remembered.
It's important because, you know, if it had been close, right?
That is going to be four.
There's only six points of force damage,
but then it can move her up to 10 feet in a direction
and it's basically going to throw her over the wall.
Fucking hell.
That's a hell of a wall.
Slans are over it.
Yeah.
Sort of manipulative.
It's almost like a telekinesis, like a dark shadowy telekines.
Daisy!
And she kind of gets slammed into the ground.
Which is, and then it is Daisy's turn.
Cool.
Although, yeah, no, Daisy's turn.
Okay, Daisy's gonna go back behind the wall.
Yeah.
Yep, makes sense.
Bye.
And then I think I'm going to have her use,
where is it?
Steady aim.
Okay.
She can't if she's already moved.
Shit, she's moved.
Yeah, so steady aim, you have to stand still
and you get no movement for that turn.
No problem.
Then I'll do two psychic blade attacks
then towards Rex,
try and aim for this.
I hate to tell you this, Re,
but she conjures the psychic blade.
She throws it, and as soon as it gets
within that 10 feet field.
Oh, it's magic!
She does have just physical arrows to fire,
but like...
Drive me to cough, isn't?
Daisy would know that, right?
I would say it's, Rees, maybe, it's no, I would say, yeah.
There's so much going on a brain!
I know, but you can help each other out.
Don't forget, like, you can help re out.
Like, it's not just on re to play, Daisy.
Like, you guys should all chip in and help out.
Very confidently said that's what she wanted to do,
so I'm taking that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, no, no, I get it.
Could we not pivot the psychic to the shadow mages?
Yeah.
I said that's what was going to do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But can, uh...
Does she get a second attack?
She does get one if she hits.
If she hits, yeah.
If I miss, I can do a D10 thing.
You could also hide as a bonus action, I guess.
Yeah.
If you make an attack roll with your psychic and make a
miss, you can roll D10 and add the number rolled to the attack.
No, it won't work because it's not a missed attack.
It just evaporates.
The golden blade just disappears when it gets a gunned
10 feet of reds.
Then I think, yeah, then that's it. I think,
Shit.
Um, yeah.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Daisy was, in my periphery was flung into my front
and then runs around.
And then disappears.
Yeah.
Yeah. All right, end of turn for Daisy?
I think so, yeah.
Okay, Rex and Ath's turn.
Gruff, he's gonna try and do the same thing you did to Afida
using the sort of pommel end of his spear.
He tries to slam into you and he wants to knock you away from him, basically.
That is gonna be, ooh, you might,
that's only a 15.
I actually rolled really badly on that one.
So you managed to like, kind of block it with your shield,
kind of dig your claws in, you don't get shoved.
I think what he will then do,
it's annoying that he's not shoved you out the way.
Quite harder.
Yeah, basically.
He will then, yeah, he will strike you with the spear.
That is a 30 to hit.
Um, doesn't, spears don't hit me.
I think it does.
Uh, that's gonna be 10, 17.
Do you want your barric dice?
23 piercing damage.
What the fuck is that dice?
It's one of the edible ones.
You have to eat, droll it and eat it.
23 piercing damage and unfortunately this sap effect
you'll have disadvantage during your next turn.
And then I think he's gonna do something
with his third attack, so he slams the spear into you gruff,
and then he sort of takes him.
his second hand off of it, reaches behind him
and he brings out like this tri-bladed throwing disk,
very predator-esque, and he throws that at Xanthius.
Like a chakra.
Like a chakra, yeah, a chakram.
That is gonna be a, man, I'm really rolling badly for him,
only a 17 to hit.
Oh no.
Oh my god, I'd like to cast shield, please.
Yeah, to block that.
Absolutely.
So he kind of bounces off this magical shield
that you conjure.
Yes.
He does seem to be maybe getting a bit annoyed.
Just a bit annoyed.
I'm good at that.
That shield I've just conjured.
Conjured.
I would like to manipulate it in such a way that it spins violently in front of me,
dangerously manipulating the very essence of manner around me.
I would like to cast, I'd like to bonus action,
innate sorcery, major rage.
For starters.
You feel the ruins glow brighter,
you feel this fire building in your stomach.
I would like to, and this apparently can be cast on an item, an object.
So I'd like to cast this directly onto that path I see in front of me,
onto the rune stone.
Chain lightning, please.
As soon as it gets within 10.
Motherfucker, why am I so dumb?
I was wondering where you were going with that.
We'll get it.
Because he's the original target.
God!
It just does, nothing happens.
It's an anti-magic field.
I know it is.
It vanishes in my mind every time I look at him.
Why is it invisible?
I know you said it was a big bubble.
Green bubble.
It's green.
It's a green bubble.
I know you said it was a big green bubble,
but it vanished in my head.
Why did I not see it?
It's not an anti-memory field.
No, it's something very wrong with me.
I have bonus action.
Age rage, though.
So that's good.
That's active.
And it disappears.
Okay.
So the guy next to me,
I would like to get away from him by running away.
Yep, you'll get an attack opportunity?
Yes, I allow that.
Okay.
That will hit, that's like 24.
Stop anti-magic field on Rex.
I'll put that in front of both of us.
So I'm gonna put a label here.
Oh.
I mean I can put like the moonstone,
I can put the moonbeam thing around him,
but it's not 10 feet.
No, that works.
Okay.
Yeah, I'll put that there.
Anti-magic.
No.
That is gonna be 19 points of damage to you.
Oh my God.
Yeah, that is 12 slashing and then 7 force.
So 19 points of damage.
But then you can move.
Where would you like to move?
Hungry.
Um, so I can move 30 feet.
I would like to...
He's probably got a lot of movement, yes?
Maybe.
Maybe.
I am just gonna go,
ah, you know what, I'm gonna join Daisy behind this wall.
Five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five.
Okay, and then.
Hide there. I don't want him getting any closer to me.
I'm scared of him and myself.
Good. End of turn.
End of turn.
I'm gonna spend a fate point to activate one of his fate actions,
lunge. He moves up to half his speed.
Gruffi will get an attack of opportunity from this.
Will it be on this advantage?
It will be.
I mean, do I just count diagrams?
I know.
So he moves 25 feet, and then he can make a weapon attack
or use one of his pieces of equipment.
He is going to, from his bandolier,
he pulls out a sort of round ceramic-looking ball,
which has like a small kind of fused tip,
and he throws a dragonfire explosive
to land next to basically behind.
in Xanthius. This will do a 20 foot feet radius which will strike Rowan and Daisy and
Zanthias. I need you all to make dexterity saving throws. Now just remember Daisy does have an
evasion for this. That's yeah no that's happening. Dexterity same throw. You do have three
points of fate to spend. I'm looking at it. I have not given you you have four points of fate
to spend. I've got plus four.
Dexterity.
Oh, fuck.
Well, she has advantage as well, did she?
Oh, no.
No, no.
She has to just succeed.
Now she will still take half damage even if she fails.
Yeah.
I've got an eight, so probably fail.
Eight is a failure.
I need a result from Xanthia.
I want to fate it, please.
You like Bardic, don't forget.
Yes, you do have your Bardic, D-10.
Oh.
And you can moat it too.
I will unfate it.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah, 100% use Bardick rather than fate, right?
Have to use this one?
You don't have to use the D10.
I gave you.
The gummy D10.
Yeah, you can eat it afterwards.
It just lands.
It just, it's gross.
It doesn't roll at all.
I hate that.
That is a 21.
21.
What's the number on the 5?
So you add three to that, and that's your new temp HP.
Eight.
Oh.
A Tamp HP.
All right, so Xanthius does succeed.
Can I have to wait at this now?
Yeah.
Yeah, Daisy got a 9, but I'd like to use her uncanny
dodge reaction.
I'll eat it.
So you're half it again.
Yeah.
So you're half it and then half it again.
Just give me a second because I've got to do some maths.
I'm just trying to see which side of this D10 I can eat to get the best results on it.
Just nibble off the other sides.
I think it's evens though.
So I'm just going to eat the one, two, three and four.
Yeah.
And then leave the rest.
Okay.
So that is going to be, let me just wipe this out for you.
So this explosion detonates is basically a grenade.
So you take 24,000.
24 fire damage and then 15 bludgeoning damage.
So for Daisy, it would basically be 38-halfed,
which would be 18, but then you want to use her uncanny dodge.
So she takes nine damage total.
24 and 15.
24 and 15, 24-fire, 15 bludgeoning.
38?
Yeah, 39, but I half it because when you round down, basically.
38, I'm going to stone's endurance there.
39.
39, because you're not, and then you can stay in its endurance.
And that's, so Xanthius, you would take the 18
because you succeeded.
31 points of damage, holy crap.
What yon's my baby boy?
The other thing is the wall is blown apart
and smashed to pieces by this explosion.
This was our entire strat!
Can I cast a vivify on the wall?
Ooh, no, you cannot.
That is his legendary action,
that was his fated action at the end of Xanthius' turn.
Malady's turn, does she regenerate her fate ability?
She does not.
How badly hurt are you Xantheus?
I'm, do you want an exact number or just?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, generally what's everyone's sort of health currently?
Mm-hmm.
28 out of 90.
So pretty bad.
Pretty bad, okay.
Yeah, I'm all right.
You're okay?
63.
Nice.
Is it okay?
Like, 63's okay for you?
30 off, max.
Yeah, okay.
So I think what she'll do is for her,
bonus action, she will reach over and just be like,
Not yet, Samtheus, and she will cast a healing word on you.
Okay, okay, okay, she's currently, yeah,
she's outside of the bubble currently.
Does anyone have mending for the war?
Oh, I do, I do.
Use that.
I will.
Mend the war.
Mend the war.
We must rebuild.
Only 18 hit points back.
I rolled pretty low on the healing word, unfortunately.
That was her action, a bonus action, sorry.
Using mending on the wall is better than using a level six spell slot
on an anti-magic field.
As her action, she will do a manor blast
at the sword guy next to, which is basically her cantrip
that she can do.
That's a hit.
From with, sword with mending on a wall
is you're taking jobs away from labours.
So you want me to leave that as it is then?
Yes, please. Okay, fair enough.
We'll hire a contractor.
The blast, she turns it into radiant damage
against the shadow as you see this bright blast of magic,
nearly wipes it out just a few wisps of it left still standing
as she sort of brings up her hands defensively.
You can see that she's quite badly hurt.
She's like coughing and spluttering,
but managed to give a little bit of healing to Xanthius
and can't trip to this enemy,
but then that is gonna be the end of Mallory's turn
and we go to the top of our third round.
This only third?
Yeah, this is the third round.
The marksman, I'm gonna try and do this,
I'm gonna try and get quickly, so we get through more stuff.
The Shadow Marksman is gonna take a shot at Ophelia and Gruff.
So against, oh, where is it, where is it smart?
Against Ophelia, that's gonna be a miss.
It's only a 10.
Against Gruff, that is only a 14.
Both miss, as the marksman is kind of shooting away,
trying to strike you.
So we go to Ophelia's turn, followed by Gruff up afterwards
unless there is an interruption.
Cool, okay, Ophelia.
is going to, yeah, I'm going to go up to Rex again,
pulling out my whip.
I can move, I can move it.
So you want to be basically outside of 10?
Yeah, that's fine, perfect.
Yeah, I'm just gonna try and throw my whip.
Yeah, you are next to the sword guy, but.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm going to throw.
Actually, you could do it.
You don't have to be next to the sword,
but you can be like here or here.
Okay, yeah, cool.
Yeah, and I'll launch my whip towards Rex.
And you want to, are you going for him or the runstone?
Roonstone.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, nice, nice, nice, nice, nice, nice,
Are you still looking bad?
Just one point over half.
15. It's not enough, I'm afraid.
All right, try again. I'm going to fate this next one.
Okay, perfect.
Try and brutal strike this one again as well.
Okay, yeah, absolutely.
Fuck a duck.
I'd rather not.
12.
Unfortunately not.
With a fate as well.
I think that this is like, he's very skilled.
He's protecting himself, but also, you know,
even with the whip, like you've not been fighting with this for a while
and trying to strike such a small target at range
with something like a whip is really hard.
You know, this takes incredible accuracy and precision.
Very difficult, unfortunately.
The dice rolls aren't with you, unfortunately.
Anything else, Ophelia?
No, that's it, thank you.
All right, we then go to Gruff.
Would he...
Attack of Opportunity, would that have taken sap away from me?
Yes.
Yeah, okay.
I am going to do a fate action just before you go.
because I want to.
Rex pulls out one of those other tri-blades
and he throws it and he throws it in an arc
and it's going to start at Daisy,
but you see that this blade is going to keep traveling in a morning.
It's crazy boom-roarer.
We are in like the perfect position for that arm as well.
That's literally why I'm doing it.
Daisy to me to Rowan.
And Daisy's used her reaction
so she doesn't have her uncanny dodge against this.
This is going to hit, that's a 25 to hit Daisy.
We're all outside of his aura, though, so all of our ACs are back up.
Yep, yep, yep, with rubble and stone as well.
So seven, this is the triblade.
So that is 13 slashing damage to Daisy.
It is also a vex weapon, so he is advantage on his next attack against her.
But as it strikes her, you see this triblade is going to continue its arc
and over the next few initiatives
as it's
making our way downtown
it's probably going to happen
before you get to move
I'm going to be honest
but somebody might be able to move
you before it happens
so this is
Gruff's turn so it will be
here I'm just marking
when it's going to activate so I know
so now Graff you may take your turn
Is he within 35 for me?
The what Rexana
Rexna F510 yeah
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
I'm just gonna go up and I'm gonna try attack that room.
So you're just gonna physically rush up and try and smash him.
There's nothing else I can do.
Well, there's lots of things I can do.
There's lots of things you could do, but like, yeah,
this is very disruptive.
Don't forget you have fate as well.
Look, my asshole.
Rather not.
Rather not.
I'll stick to the duck.
17.
Yeah, 17.
17.
I mean, maybe with a bit of fate, if I pushed it above it.
I'm gonna take a little fate now.
You're gonna take a fake now.
What did you roll like a two now?
14 plus my bonus.
which is nine but eight because of magic.
So 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24.
24?
I have to be an ass, because he hasn't used his parry reaction yet.
As he senses the axe coming towards the run stone, not yet.
And he's going to, like, parry it away with his great spirit, unfortunately.
But it does use up one of his reactions, but I'm afraid.
He can't do that twice, by the way.
He can only do that reaction once.
Yeah, he uses up for someone else.
Exactly, it now opens it up to somebody else to try and get that.
How many reactions has he done before and around?
Two.
I said that he only has two reactions per round, basically.
Between all the multi-attacks of Gruff, Ophelia and Daisy,
one of them's going to get...
And also, if you get it high enough, he probably can't parry it,
that you need to get a big numb beat, right?
So Gruff, is there anything else?
That was your two attacks and movement, right?
I don't have any more movement left, do I?
Yeah, you would have done.
I think you would have had about, like, five, ten feet.
Again, it's probably...
I'm just going to cycle around, so that I'm between him.
It's good, because it's good,
because it's good,
forces him to either go around you
or to like risk opportunity attacks and stuff.
For sure, for sure.
Okay, gruff, that's the end of your turn.
The Shadow swordsman on its last like limbs
is gonna try and strike at Malady one last time.
It's a natural 20, Benedicta will use her gift
to try and protect her sister, so we'll take the crit instead.
By the way, in all of this time that I'm in the anti-magic field,
I'm not giving myself temp HP.
That's correct, right?
Yeah, because your armor of Oak and Thorne isn't active.
Yeah.
This is a pretty brutal hit,
so it looks like it's about to cut Malady's throat.
Like the blade is perfectly aimed.
Malady's like kind of pulling back,
but not expecting its reach,
and you just see Benedict to throw herself
in front of the strike as she's now taking the crit, basically.
She's got one use of that left.
So that's gonna be six, 12, 18,
20, 25, 29 points of damage to Benedicta.
Oh my God.
No one's, oh, you are.
Benedicta is not quite bloodied,
but has taken quite a few hits at this point.
That was his first attack.
The second attack is going to miss Malady, though.
So Benedicta just gets in their way and kind of blocks it.
So that is going to be them done.
Shield guy goes next.
Oh, sorry, my apologies before that.
This axe goes 5, 10, 15, 20,
and strikes both Rowan and Zan.
Santhius.
Yeah, Santhius, that is gonna be,
you do get plus one AC,
but I think this is still gonna hit
because I rolled quite high.
That is gonna be a 28 to hit.
Fucking hell, think that's gonna hit.
He doesn't get the vex on this though,
but that is still gonna be,
that is still gonna be 17 points of slashing damage.
I'm gonna use a fate to reduce that.
Oh, love it with the song of stone,
love it, perfect.
One D12 plus my Rizzy-Mittiz.
Yeah, plus your charisma.
Okay.
That's an eight plus seven for a 15.
15.
So two points of damage.
Damn.
And then against Rowan, that's a 25 to hit Rowan.
Yes.
Oh, low damage, that's only gonna be 11 points of slashing damage.
And it's sort of the blade is continuing like an arc this way.
So into the east.
Yeah.
Cool.
Okay.
Can you go through a shadow warrior?
It could, yeah.
I mean, this might hit his own allies, right?
Although Shadow Warrior is about to move.
He is about to move, yeah.
He literally is going to get up into Ophelia's face and block Ophelia.
Thank you.
He's going to take you with his sword, and then he's going to smash you with the shield.
Yeah.
The sword attack, excuse me.
Excuse me, 21 to hit with sword.
Yeah.
That is going to be, ugh, damage is high.
18 points.
Sorry, hang on, I have to work this out because it's part of its force.
So that's going to be 10 slashing and then 8 force.
So 5 slashing and then at 8 force.
And then with a shield bash, natural one.
Misses.
Nice. Goody.
Alright.
Can I hellish rebuke as a reaction?
You can. You're not in the anti-magic field.
Absolutely you can.
Dexterity, right?
The magic fan to you.
You fails.
2D10 damage.
Yes.
Can I on?
Hold on.
Yeah.
The Shadow Warrior is in the magic field.
I wouldn't have moved.
He moved him there.
Okay.
That, like, is genuinely like, he physically can't move there.
So he would have just moved to like here.
The apologies, that like is one thing where it's just like, yeah.
Like, I mean, I know I should like,
because I didn't let the Daisy thing, but like,
it would have dissipated.
Exactly.
Yeah, it's a very different thing.
11 points of fire damage.
Yeah, the fire damage seems to affect the creature normally.
It doesn't seem to be resistant to it.
It gets blasted by flames it strikes you
and then misses with a shield bash.
Cool, awesome.
Amazing.
It's Rowan.
Now, Rowan, what a guy.
Everything figured out.
I'm going to, this anti-magic thing is pretty noy-noi.
Yeah, oh yeah.
It's very no-noi.
I'm doing my best.
You are, so I'm gonna go help.
Just keep fucking missing.
Tough.
Rowan is going to run in.
You're going to run in.
It's going to silence the song of Stone for now.
Yeah.
But one would assume...
You're still singing, playing it, like it is still...
Can it continue...
It doesn't say that it has to occupy me playing, right?
You can sing it.
Like, you can, like, put Socenuto down.
Dun, dun, do, do, do.
Yeah, if you want to.
Okay.
So Rowan continues the song, even though it does nothing.
He wants to continue it when he leaves.
Yeah, the magic is not working.
The song continues.
Oh.
He's going to get out the mundane story now that's now sharpened,
and he's going to strike at the...
try and go for the ringstone. I love it. He's going to use fate.
Oh, my God, guys. All this fate. So delicious.
Juicy, juicy, fate.
Total? It's just not enough.
Oh, dear.
Oh, yeah, okay, no. That's no.
It's close. Uh, maybe. Three off, yeah.
Yeah.
Still close.
No, unfortunately, that misses.
And if I were to leave now, I'd get an opportunity attack against me.
You would.
So I'm just going to...
And if he hits you...
Did he not use his reaction?
He's got a second.
It's two.
He's got two.
That's why he's tough.
I will have to remain.
You remain there.
OK, end of turn.
End of turn.
Pretty bad, actually, because everyone doesn't
have the AC bonus right now.
Or does the song have a beyond?
It is more bodies blocking him.
No, I think the emanation from you is canceled.
It's the source point, right?
Yeah.
I think I have to do this because it's cool.
I'm going to spend two fate at the end of your
turn Rowan to activate one of his legendary actions,
you see Rexnaz sort of look towards Zanthius,
and he begins tightening his body,
you know, bringing himself back,
charging up some sort of powerful strike.
No.
And you hear him...
Rowan and Zanthias, you understand,
you hear him, he just goes,
which is draconic for one.
Benedictus.
He's counting. He's counting to a big move.
He's counting up to six thousand.
Thank God, it's six thousand.
Benedict's turn.
The count up is throwing me.
I was just going to count down.
What if it is a count down?
One.
Benedict is going to try and finish off the shadow.
That was the first thought where I was like, oh, one.
Okay.
What about three and two?
Not another that 20.
Not one on Benedict's first.
Oh, okay.
Well, second attack hits.
And I don't think I'm going to waste a smite
because I'm pretty sure, yeah.
She just finishes off this shadow where it,
dissipates it.
Great.
Destroying it.
Three remain.
And then she will turn.
Which type was that one?
Does she wanna go, no, she's gonna focus on the shield one.
That was a dual wielding.
15, 20.
She's gonna come up next to Aphelia and help you out.
Sister, let's finish this.
Yes.
And then brings it down.
That is gonna be, after Benedicta's turn,
you hear Rex and Ath, Drakonic for two.
He's doing it more frequently than I thought.
That is so much quicker than I'm sorry.
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The Magus, the Shadow Magus is going to...
Seven, I think he's a seven guy.
He looks like a seven guy.
He can see Groth going for the run stone,
so the Shadow Magus is gonna try and get you with a,
oh no, oh, how many of you, oh, Daisy and, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He sees Daisy and Xanthias in place,
and he weaves some sort of shadow spell,
the shadowy chains erupt from the ground.
I need deck saving throws from Xanthius and Daisy.
Fuck.
Oh, freedom of movement on you.
You're outside of the aura.
You do.
Oh, that's great.
I mean, roll the save, but you're going to be okay.
Yeah.
What is it?
Like a deck saving throw.
So this is magical, right?
Yes.
He cannot be restrained for magical effects.
Yep, so you don't need to roll.
Don't worry.
You can do.
Nat 20 from Daisy.
Okay.
So, Daisy leaps back as these shadowy chains
like, reach up to grab.
I'd completely forgotten about the
and the movement, that's great.
Whereas Zanthius, you see like a flock
of spectral ice divers flying out from you
and break away the chains,
as the shadow chains would have restrained you guys
in place and held you there.
As the shadowy chains break through
and the Magus is,
she tries to try and control it.
That counting as well, and you being stuck.
Yeah, yeah.
That would have sucked.
At the end of the Magus' turn,
Rexenath will say, Kala.
Trachonic for three.
Wait, he still hasn't done there.
Daisy.
What is he counting to?
You can see as well, like, on that last count,
like that three count, he is locked in looking towards Xanthius.
Like, he is looking past rough at Zanthius.
We need to interrupt this.
Can she teleport him away again?
Yeah, she can try.
Like we did at the other fight.
Oh, yeah, she's got the dimension door.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know if you want to go 500 feet away, you could do.
I mean, I mean.
You don't have to, no.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She didn't go away from this.
BAMP all the way over here.
Yeah, we BAMF, BAMF?
You know what the downstairs of the ruins look like.
Daisy knows that.
We've been, yeah, we've been here before, right?
Oh yeah, true.
Yeah, BAMF.
Okay, we want to bampf?
If we bampf, it would be to the opposite side of the field.
Okay.
Thank you, Tom.
Technically the ruin basement is in.
It is in the range of the spell,
and you are more than welcome to do that.
You will just make this incredibly complicated.
But you can do it if you really want.
to. But then Daisy and Xanthius aren't really going to be able to help out in the fight.
Yeah. And he's going to just start killing.
I need to get at it here. Yeah. Okay, okay. Yeah. So yeah. So Daisy will sprout the celestial wings,
wrap up Xanthus and then... She doesn't have to use the wings through the teleport.
If you want to do it for coolness. Yeah. Just for how Katie described it the last time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So she's going to use her celestial revelation, which is a bonus action, I believe.
Yeah. And then move up to Xantheus and then Dimension Door him away with the cloak.
Yeah. Is that the plan?
I think so. Amazing. Amazing. So does it.
Daisy flies over like, Zanthius, like grabs him
and then Bampth, and where do you want to teleport to?
You can pretty much go anywhere on the map.
Yeah, the far end of the field.
The top north-east section.
Yeah, in amongst the trees, like on the edge of it.
You see Daisy do that.
As Daisy literally gets to Zanthius and grabs him,
I think that it would have been at the end of Daisy's tour.
You hear Rexnath to Veth, which is draconic for four,
and he bursts forward, charging in a line.
Oh, my gosh.
would have gone straight through,
it goes through Gruff still,
and Rowan, you're gonna be hit by this
because it's 10 feet on either side of him.
It would have hit Daisy and Xanthius
as he like, with a spear forward,
and there's like a shock wave of power all around him.
Rowan and Gruff, I still need from you guys,
a dexterity saving throw.
19th.
12.
19 is a success.
A 12 is unfortunately a failure.
I know that number.
I told you it's gonna be four number of death.
And it says wrath, which is like cool to wrath.
Wait.
I do.
You could use D4s.
No, no, no.
D1.
No, no, D4's.
It's just a one.
It's just a one.
It's no one made that dose yet.
17.
Oh God, me and I.
I'm fine.
I've used my reaction already, so I can't use stones in durance.
43 points of force damage.
Oh my God.
As he just plows through you guys.
kind of churning up.
But you see that he doesn't have any control.
Like once he got to some point,
he had to move in that straight line.
And he basically, yeah, like he could have gone further,
but he stops himself on the very edge of the map there, basically.
One halfed?
Around it there.
Oh, half, yeah, so 21, yeah.
But yeah, he kind of like, and you are also,
you are also both knocked pro.
Sorry, gruff is knocked prone during that as you get.
Good Lord.
Ouch.
If he moved out when he did it,
You are not prone when he hits you, so that's why.
So does, oh no, you get, yeah, you lost your way.
It happens and then your armor of Oakenthorn comes back on once he's out of range.
So he's not lying on the floor, basically.
What about opportunity attacks?
No, this is a special.
Oh, I see.
He's gone.
Right, so that was...
Just put the sword in front of him.
It is unfortunately, the way I timed that, by the way, it is now his turn.
He basically timed it so it would trigger just before his turn.
But I think that's a good point for us to take our five minute break.
Oh my god, we've been going for an hour and off.
Yeah.
Okay.
This is an intense fight.
I feel like you've kind of seen it.
You know what you have to do now.
We just got to hope that the dice rolls go a little bit more
in your guys' favor.
You're slowly taking out these minions,
which are like chipping away, being a bit annoying.
But.
We've done eight damage to him?
Oh, it takes of him.
Nine points of damage.
So pretty good so far.
Good going.
We will see you after the break.
See in a bit.
In a bit.
Bye.
