Wow, there are so many pans at HomeSense.
These are non-stick, made in Italy.
It's a sign. We need a new pan.
We already have a pan.
It works.
What we have is an extra stick pan made of I don't know what.
Everything sticks and burns.
Do we seriously have to eat burnt food to save 20 bucks?
It's 20 bucks?
20 bucks.
Need I remind you, made in Italy.
You don't need to tell me.
We're getting this pan.
Deal so good, everyone approves.
Only at HomeSense.
Well, let's jump back into it.
Chris Trott has finished his little corn cake.
Everyone's got a little drinky.
We're all good to go.
Ready to roll. And maybe roll.
Throwing it back to you guys.
I don't even know if we're going to roll dice today.
We'll see.
We'll throw it back over to you guys
because you still had a bunch of stuff that maybe
you wanted to to investigate and think about so yeah i mean there's still the idea of infusing the
uh the book but i mean it feels like we've uh been given shake shake rosemary just yeah i will
and i always say this i am not like if i have a character like Tien Gong suggesting that thing Tassadar
that is not me trying to tell you
this is what you should do
that is me just putting another option on the table
right like I'm not trying to lead you in any way
the way finders guide idea
is as valid as any other
idea I don't want you to feel like I'm trying to push you
into a direction because I'm not
the stuff that Tassadar was saying
sounds cool as hell.
I mean, yeah, that's fine.
The best stuff at the same time, or feasible.
So, I mean, yeah, there's trying to find some way to infuse the book.
How?
Honestly, I'm a bit lost.
I'm a bit stumped for a direction right now like i'm a bit like
we've got a couple of different ways to go and i really don't know how to go about it because it
just feels kind of almost impossible not impossible that's not the right word but
yeah i'm just a bit like there's a lot of choices figure out which way to go yeah uh remember that
there's this like and i always say this, don't try and look for the best
solution because there's no such thing.
There are options and all of them are going to have their problems and all of them are
going to have their good bits.
They're just going to create interesting stories.
So whichever one you pick, just make sure it's the one that you're like, my character
would want to do this because this is blah, right?
No one is the correct answer.
There's no correct or wrong answers.
Yeah, Quill has said that the idea of going to a new...
What is the alignment of this?
Was it Cloud Garden, sorry?
Was that the name of the...
Cloud Garden's another Sky City, yeah.
I mean, Lucius would know a bit about it,
but I don't think anybody else would.
Maybe Quill would as well, like just from the messenger field stuff.
In terms of like Valkyrian versus Arois alignment.
Oh, you don't know that. No idea.
They weren't at the summit. They didn't come to the summit.
They weren't present. You've not interacted with them in any way.
You do know, I would say lucius and quill would know that cloud garden is a much smaller um sky city it's not to the
same level as horizon and gust haven it would probably be closer to like a big town like a
kind of you know it's not a metropolis city um like horizon is um you know gust haven's a little
bit smaller than horizon but it's still a big city.
Cloudgarden is much smaller.
You know, nearly half the population of Gusthaven.
Right.
So not as much influence to go to a summit.
No, probably not.
Like, they don't really keep to themselves
because Sky Cities are, for the most part, self-sustainable.
They just kind of float around
and they do a bit of
trading with ethereum and stuff like that and and with the lowlands but that's they kind of stick
to themselves um not one that you would have had too much involved with lucius has probably seen
like the biggest uh the most lucius probably would have known of cloud garden is sky jousters
from cloud garden probably came to gust haven to take part in tournaments and stuff occasionally
but that's probably going to be it maybe to take part in tournaments and stuff occasionally.
But that's probably going to be it.
Maybe the Elinasto family probably did business selling Ethereum cages.
We sold Archways to them.
God.
Wait.
Yeah, it's not much there.
Have we still ruled out the idea of killing and distilling rose meadow's essence into a crystal no we keep returning to absolutely not a rose meadow is still an option um you didn't quite
you know when you spoke to her last week she had no idea really what you were talking about
um you're not even sure if she is from the Feywild, but she certainly, like, nobody seems to know where she's from.
Like, it's like a big sort of like, uh.
It was like when he said, you're a wizard, Harry. I'm a what?
That was what it was like with Rosemeadow. You're from the Feywild. I think we can put a pin in Operation Suck Rose Meadow Dry.
That doesn't seem to work.
Or maybe it does.
Maybe it does.
But how does everyone feel about Cloud Gardens?
Sounds nice this time of year.
With what purpose, really?
They are sending mercenaries to northern Al-Saraf to an outpost,
the one that is potentially holding the original portal that we found under the abbey.
Only downside is we would be going there as mercenaries,
and Max pretty much said,
Oh, come on, dudes, don't.
Max pretty much said,
oh, come on, dudes, don't.
So we'd pretend to be a cloud top mercenary and kind of infiltrate.
See what they know.
Like they're sending mercenaries out there for a reason.
Try and find out what they know about Al-Saraf,
northern Al-Saraf outpost.
And using that information
to infiltrate it ourselves.
Meanwhile, Vorten Sarr is again
a Valkyrian-aligned Sky City.
I don't know if that's a thing.
I think that's going to be pretty tough.
Vorten Sarr isn't a Sky City.
At least for now.
Vorten Sarr is the Gnast City.
But still,
we can't really be seen there.
I don't think it's an option yet.
Well, I do intend to return there sometime soon.
You know, the plans that we put in place
to try at least and destabilise them.
But I wonder that if us turning up there now
to suddenly disappear very quickly
would mess with those plans.
I, yeah.
We don't have time, really.
I think the Cloud Garden idea is perhaps our strongest.
It's our strongest lead.
And maybe I can figure out the coordinates along the way.
And, yeah.
Other than that,
uh, you're suspicious?
I could potentially source...
No, I'm thinking. It's my thinky
face. Uh, okay.
Perhaps I could source some of the
old contacts that my family used
to use
at that area. I swear
they did trade.
Maybe there's someone still there
that we could use as a point of contact?
That would be good.
We also need to find out
which way they sit.
Sky City floating around,
I don't know if it's necessarily a...
A chair's quill.
Of course, chairs.
I just mean in terms of Valkyrian Aroas.
Sky City might not be necessarily a great place for the Valkyrian Empire to control.
Maybe it is.
We should try. Find out.
We should talk to our little friend that we captured from the Feywild.
You know the guy that wants to fight?
Yeah, he wants to fight us all.
I think it's worth a shot.
It won't take
us long, and at least we can
rule that out. And to be honest, if we
were going to crush anyone and put them
into a crystal in a book, I'd rather
crush him than Rosemeadow.
And that's saying a lot because her voice does
great.
It does great.
I'd like to canonically make it Aayla's thought
to crush someone and put it in a crystal
because Lucius hasn't actually mentioned that.
It's only been a meta idea.
Yeah, I think Aayla could come up with the idea of like,
if I'm going to crush somebody into a crystal,
I can see Aayla just believing that that's what Quill means.
Like when he says like, you you know empower the crystal of the book
like Aayla's like that means putting
crushing someone into a dust and putting them in it
no that means
covering your book in elanthron juice
that'll get you there
well it would be better if it was him
right?
it would be quick
and it would help
if we suddenly have
an instant use of him
and can immediately get to
Lunaris, then so be it.
Yeah.
Lunaria.
Lunaria.
You can just call it the Feywild as well.
You can just say Feywild. It's the same thing.
If it doesn't get us anywhere,
we can look at the other Sky City stuff.
It's just a small pit stop on the way.
How about...
We could do that. We could look at something else entirely.
We don't have to go to Cloud Garden and we don't have to upset Max.
Okay.
Max wouldn't know.
Hello?
What was the exact wording? What did he say to you exactly?
I just need to know in what capacity we're betraying him here.
It was more of what I said to him, I think.
I said I swore. What kind of promises did you make?
I swore I wouldn't do it against him.
What specifically did you swear that we wouldn't look for archways?
We look for this one archway?
We don't know about archways.
Because you know, the whole thing about Paladin Oaths
is it's all about the fine print.
A hundred percent.
It's definitely not about the general vibes and feelings of it.
It's got to be a loophole.
Yeah, it's got to be a loophole.
I said I swore we wouldn't use it against him.
I mean, we're not using it against him.
We're just going to have a look.
But we're not.
Him, and Sensory would know that we wouldn't use it against him
means what Max holds dear.
Like, you know, you'd be using it to fight the Valkyrian Empire,
which is basically saying the same as fighting Max.
But we're not fighting the Valkyrian Empire, which is basically saying the same as fighting Max. But we're not fighting the Valkyrian Empire.
That you know of.
We're reclaiming what was taken from us so that they can't fight us
and we don't end up hurting them.
Oh, I'm so conflicted right now.
Oh, no.
You could multi-class.
That is not canonical.
One level of rogue.
Just become a phatess entry.
It's problematic.
Yeah.
I want to help Valia,
but I don't want to break aia but I don't want
to break a promise that I made
but then by helping Max
am I breaking my own oath?
And then
Sentry
Sentry
I'm using the archway to go to Lunaria
to save my girlfriend
Valkyria
isn't even in my thought right now.
And that's saying something
because Calicus used to always be in my thoughts.
Not in that way.
Oh, we know.
A little bit in that way though sometimes.
I've had a few dreams.
Really?
Because I have too.
What, he's visited you in your dreams?
He visits you in your dreams as well?
No.
No, well, hopefully No. Yes, obviously.
Anyway, back to the
real matter.
He doesn't have dreams.
That's what I thought.
That's what I thought. I thought elves don't have
dreams. So he could appear to you
and dream and have a conversation. Is he talking to
all of us? Century has a moral dilemma
at the moment.
And we should really focus on that. We're talking to all of us! Sentry has a moral dilemma at the moment. Yes!
And we should really focus on that.
I don't know how to solve it.
We need this portal back.
If he's going to send forces through to Erois.
I know, I'm thrilled.
I'm thrilled we have the knowledge that we have.
Aww! What's the plan? Do you want to go speak to the Elantron? that we have. Oh!
What's the plan?
Do you want to go speak to the Eladrin?
I'm going to explode!
I don't know if guardians can explode,
but I think I might explode.
Speak to the Summer Eladrin.
We could circumvent this whole moral quandary that Century is stewing in right now
if he can just be our Feywild guide.
Yep, let'sild guide. Yep.
Let's do that.
Excellent.
It's going to be okay, Sentry. Stop thinking about it.
Just know.
Stop thinking about it.
We're not doing anything.
If it comes to it, Sentry,
and you must stick with your vows,
I respect them.
We all pinky promise that we only use it,
the archway,
as a means to get Thalia some respite
from this curse
did Nova want to
did you still want to talk to Jocelyn about
Rose Hall or did you want to
you were going to ask Jocelyn about the archways
weren't you Rose Hall was a separate thing
wasn't it Kim
I think to be honest Tassadar kind of
answered
those questions.
So, yeah.
Well, for now, if we want to talk to the Summer Eladrin,
and then, yeah, I think that's a lot of talking.
Sure.
Sure.
It's not you can speak to the guards in Horizon,
and they will tell you that, yes, they still have the Eladrin in custody,
that they're in the prison.
They've bound their hands and gagged them to stop them casting spells and things like that uh as you are making your way down there as you uh horizon one of the
city districts has like a sort of uh underground well not underground it's like built into the core
of the the floating island um there is a city there's a prison sorry they take you down into it um and as
you get closer one of the it'd probably be um it'd probably be rain actually would come and
be your liaison on this uh rain would say something along the lines of like
whilst you have been dealing with other affairs there is something strange um the elandrin has
changed when you first brought them here they were, there was fire and there was bright orange and yellow colorings to their skin and their hair and their clothes.
That has completely changed. They've become very morose.
And as they have, the chamber has become cold.
They seem to have undergone a physical transformation.
Their skin is blue and their hair is white.
They're refusing to speak to anybody.
I have to keep my guards at a certain distance.
We've actually had to create a perimeter effect.
Those who were standing too close to the door
were becoming influenced by the Eladrin's presence.
Just keep that in mind.
Do you have any idea how long we may be able to stay in this place?
I think it entirely depends on your own mental fortitude.
I think that it depends on those who have a strong will.
I managed to approach, and while we were organizing this,
I managed to approach, and I could feel a magical influence,
but I'm somewhat resistant to those sorts of things,
and I managed to shrug it off. It does seem to be that elven individuals or those with elven
blood seem to be able to resist it a little bit easier, but it depends entirely on the
person's mental willpower.
I'm going to stay outside, guys, because last time, one of those stupid little elf stupid little eldrin people made me
dance for like a long time and it was awful and i'm not doing it again okay just because i'm not
quite as smart as everyone else i can help in some small way uh for anyone that does want to stay
um with my beacon of hope maybe for anyone that does want to stay.
With my beacon of hope, maybe.
But anyone that does want to go in there,
let's go and talk
to him. And the moment
anything changes...
Lucius, Quill...
Yeah?
Just Lucius and Quill? Sentry?
Nova?
Yes, no? Maybe?
I don't know.
Could you repeat the question?
Do you want to go and speak to the
Eladrin?
I'll stay outside with
Ayla. Okay.
Lucius, Quill, and Sentry, as
soon as you get next to the door, I need you to make a wisdom saving throw, please. Okay. All right. Lucius, Quill, and Sentry, as soon as you get next to the door,
I need you to make a wisdom saving throw, please.
Okay.
So this is for me.
Lucius, you have advantage because this is a charm effect,
and you are an elf, so you have advantage.
I rolled a natural 20.
I got 25.
25.
Sentry? 13.
13's just enough, actually.
Just barely succeeds. So all of you feel
this kind of presence.
As soon as you get next to the door, and you can see
that the guards have actually had to be positioned
fairways away.
There's no map. I pressed the wrong button.
Oh, thanks. Just ignore it.
As soon as you get within a certain distance,
yeah, you feel this kind of presence trying to overwhelm you
and like melancholy and sadness,
and you almost feel like your movements want to slow down,
but you kind of shrug it off, you shake your head,
and you press through this effect.
And as you approach the door,
it magically seems to unlock at your presence,
and you can open it and step through
you can see that the jail cell is actually uh like a kind of like a short distance and then it's like
a pit that goes down um it's about sort of like 50 foot drop down and then you can see that there
is like a comfortable looking cell there's like a bed uh there is like a kind of like small chamber
for like chamber pot and stuff like that there is is a pulley system used to lower things up and down.
It looks like this is used to house people
that might have certain abilities that would make escaping easier.
And you look down and you can see that the Eladrin has his hands
bound in these giant leather mitts.
So it's just enough that he can hold things,
but he has no like
fine finger control he can't like make gestures for spells or anything like that and he has like
a leather gag over his mouth as well um uh and he he is completely different you see that he still
has the same sort of facial features his hair is the same style he has the thin little mustache but where he was once all flamey and
orange and yellow it is now blues um the hair is like this white almost kind of uh ombre effect
into like a ice ice blue green um you can see that the mustache is now made of almost like
frosted icicles uh that kind of form this carry us kind of like little mustache um and his clothes are all blue um
and yeah there's this kind of like icy presence about him um okay i'm gonna beacon of hope before
we get in there so everyone has advantage on saves and uh uh and uh throughout this process i'm also
gonna stick near century as well or at least within 10 feet of her, obviously. Yeah, I'm assuming you and Lucius will both stay within Sentry's aura.
Yeah, he looks up at you, and when he sees Lucius especially,
his eyes just narrow, and he sits down on the bed and just looks at the floor.
You look very different to last we saw you in the combat.
Just sort of like turns his head.
You can see that he's ganked, he can't speak.
Would you like, with a nod, to converse with us?
We can take the gag off.
What's up?
Shrugs.
Is that a yes?
Shrugs.
Okay.
I'm going to go with yes on this instance.
Yeah, I'll try and take the thing off.
Are you going to go down in the pit?
It's 50 feet down.
It's 50 feet down?
Damn it.
There is like a pulley system.
Yeah, you could just flap down there and fly down there.
Yeah.
I'll look to the others first.
I shrug.
Is that a yes?
I'll come down with you.
Okay.
I'll stay up here. I don't think he particularly likes me.
So yeah, Sensory, how are you going to get down?
Use the pulley?
This pulley is like
for like a bucket.
It's like for like a small. It's like for a small...
Oh, I see.
This thing will snap the second you use it.
Okay then.
Jump on down.
Sorry, how wide is this pit?
I'm not gonna be like...
It's wide, it's like a jail cell.
It's like 20 by 20 feet.
It's a big space, it's a decent sized space.
Okay. I mean, yeah, I'll... by 20 feet it's it's it's a big space like you know it's a decent sized space okay i i mean yeah
i'll i'll clap down there and uh go to take off the uh the gag so you can speak yeah yeah he
doesn't resist uh he stays sitting down um you kind of move up you unlatch the the gag thing
you take it off you can see his hands like he's big mitten
hands he kind of like shuffles them around but you don't see that he can use in any way he can't like
wield a weapon he can grab you with them like they completely engulf his hands basically um
and yeah like you you take the the thingy off um and he just lets you take it off and then doesn't
doesn't say what we're doing i think you see him just kind of like coughs a couple of times maybe like wipes his mouth
with the big leather mitt licks his lips now we can talk we can okay now uh you seem to be glaring at Lucius up there.
Yes, of course. Why wouldn't I? I thought that I was fighting honorable warriors. I
thought that I was going to have a true challenge battle. And then when I surrendered in good
faith, seeing my companions flee after their defeat, you decided to use foul magic to force me to
give up secrets of my my loyalty my empire in our defense we were protecting
a rowers from those that would try to manipulate the minds of villages you
mean manipulate the minds we We were speaking with them.
We spoke to them.
We told them of the wonders of the Valkyrian of the Empire, of the joys that we would bring.
There was a magical effect on them, right?
I mean, you felt like a magical compulsion when you tried to come into this room.
No, I mean a magical effect on the people that we were...
Yeah, some of them were charmed.
Yeah, some of them were definitely charmed.
You remember
breaking them free of the charm effect.
I mean, speaking wasn't
getting through to them.
I broke whatever spells you had on them.
Whatever spells,
those must have been cast by yourself.
I did not.
We did not cast any spells of control upon them.
Why would we?
People listen to us.
Not that I would expect you to understand.
And yet I feel the power of this compulsion
when I enter this room.
He looks at you confused.
He's just like, I do not know what you're speaking about.
Perhaps it is merely the presence, being in the presence of a
of a splendid being such as myself.
Your people of this strange world are not accustomed
to the beauty and wonder of the Eladrin race.
Perhaps it is merely our presence that befuddles you.
But it is not some malicious
charm, as your
witch, your
befouling sorcerer up there
did to me.
The
befouling sorcerer can
see the aura
of magics much differently to us, and I
can feel it too.
I can tell a magical effect when I feel it.
Well, then that is placed by your people.
I am no mage. I am a warrior.
I'm looking up at these guys now. I mean, he's just simply not aware of...
I mean, yeah, Quill, like, from...
Your reading of this is this guy
either doesn't know that he has a magical like effect that that people around him it like you
know magically charms people or he's lying and just playing dumb but he's playing dumb
one way or the other either this guy doesn't know or he's pretending not to know
it's not why we're here quill don't worry about it it's not in any case
we request information from you ah yes i see no amount of torture you do will get me to yield any more secrets. If you want me to divulge any more,
you will have to use your magic tricks,
your vile grip of my mind.
I will not willingly give you anything.
Torture me if you must.
You will find that as a warrior of a thousand battles,
my body is impervious to any pain you could inflict.
This is the person I remember from the battle. This is the person I remember from the battle.
This is the person I remember, finally.
You definitely see that his demeanor,
like the hair, like the ice on his mustache, is beginning to drip as if it's melting.
It seems that the angrier he gets,
like his demeanor is changing.
The more he'll spill.
We are looking to find some way, some passage to your homeland.
To Lunaria.
You wish to invade, I see.
Not content enough to subject the people of this world
to your enclosed way of thinking.
Now you wish to bring your pervasive thoughts
and your witchery and your sorcery to my world is it not at all a friend of ours uh desperately needs our help and
the only way we can solve this problem is by going to lunaria with no intention to invade this is not
a war effort what makes me think that I would believe your words?
I have seen your actions.
I surrendered in good faith.
Instead you use your wicked ways.
You are villains, true villains.
You see that the hair is, there's like gold and orange is beginning to sort of grow out
from the roots and spread down the white hair.
You can see his clothing is beginning to like
turn from this pale blue to almost like a,
what's like a mix between like blue
and sort of like yellow and red.
It's like beginning to shift colors.
Yeah, kind of, I guess it would be, yeah.
You wish to be free of this place
to fight for the Valkyrian Empire once more,
maybe to take revenge on him up there.
Arrangements can be made.
With your information, you don't have to
stay in this place.
You are offering me some sort of deal
for my freedom?
Yes, for information.
Provided you give it
correctly. What specific
information? I have no intention of lying.
Do you take me for some rogue, some rakish thief who would lie and steal?
You can see the temperature is beginning to rise and everything.
I am no thief. I am no liar.
What information do you want?
We simply would like a quick way to travel to Lunaria.
Well, then you ask the impossible.
Your world is protected by this barrier, this cradle that we have been told about.
It prevents planar travel.
The astral ships that we passage, you would need a guide. You would
need an astral ship to go beyond the cradle and to enter the Twilight Nebula. And for
that, you would need a guide, a fae being born of Lunaria to take you there.
Do you see what I'm getting at now? You could be that guide. Or indeed, maybe we have a way to bypass that entirely
with this book that allows me to travel to, well, anywhere,
provided the energy is inserted in these crystals.
He looks at you as if trying to kind of work you out.
And for this, you would give me back my freedom.
You would allow me to go free
in exchange for taking you to Lunaria.
I'll look up at the others first.
Do I have to fight or something?
I mean, I cannot guarantee that your freedom means that we will put you in an arena against Lucius.
But maybe in your freedom, you'll find a way to him.
Take these wretched mitts and give me a blade.
And I will make sure that this trickster, this mind warper,
would never use such foul powers again.
Despicable.
I thought him a beauteous creature when I first gazed upon him,
but now I see this is but merely another lie.
A wicked soul captured in a perfect form.
And he's looking at Lucius when he says perfect form.
Wow.
Compliment at least.
Lucius's blushing.
Sentry gives Lucius a little elbow.
Stop it, Sentry.
He wants to kill me.
Does he?
You would need to take me as the guide. You've pulled. You would need to take me as your guide.
You pulled!
You would need to take me as your guide.
You would have to honour this bargain if you wish to complete it.
You will not make it to Lunaria without me being present.
I mean, we need a guide. And you need your freedom.
I think that deal could be made.
Oof, getting Gollum vibes here.
She looks, he will look up and say,
you speak pretty words,
but I still do not know if I can trust you.
How do I not know that you will simply kill me
once we arrive in Lunaria?
We can't.
Would you rather
that, this opportunity
to go back to your
homeworld, or stay in this
50-foot prison? Silence!
Silence, you beautiful trickster!
You beautiful mind-wretcher! I will not listen
to you and your humming words. I'm so convicted!
Your sweet oval face and
pink lips. I will not listen.
Okay. This isn't a Ladrin thing, by the way,
that they love beauty and so Lucius
with his, like, 25 charisma
is like, that man's amazing,
but I hate him.
Curse your mind.
Let's you forget how much of a trickster i am you did not lose your honor in that battle indeed some of us still have it
he seems to like spend a minute thinking he is now completely transformed back to this
flaming summer eladrin that you once
knew him as whatever melancholy was there is completely gone and he's kind of back to this
blazing form that he once had um flamio hotman flamio hotman
i would have it sworn I would have it sworn.
I would have it sworn upon.
I would have a written confirmation of your promise and a sworn oath under this, what is it,
that you Erosians care for?
Siasca, this goddess of yours.
Swear upon her that you will see this deal honoured.
And I will take you to Lunaria.
Under Siaska, we can have written confirmation
that upon arrival
to Lunaria, you will be freed.
However,
you cannot harm Lucius
on this journey, or any of us.
You'll be our guide.
You may not. Then you will give me
24 hours. After we have arrived
at Lunaria, you will not attempt to recapture or harm me for 24 hours.
Again, looking up at everyone else.
I have...
He throws down the notebook and quill.
For the contract.
You can have 48 hours.
Where are the steals?
48 hours, very well. I accept.
48 hours.
72.
That goes both ways. Hang on. 72? That goes both ways.
Hang on, the 72 hours goes both ways.
In those 72 hours, you are not allowed to inform anyone of our presence on Lunaria.
I will not inform anyone of the Valkyrian Empire,
but I have loyalties beyond the Emperor.
It is the archfey.
Whatever area that you wish to travel to,
the archfey must be informed.
Lunaria does not work as your plane does.
There are rules.
And by rules, I do not mean laws,
petty things written by men and women.
I mean magical rules that must be enforced.
As such, I must, I must,
if I encounter a servant of the Archfey,
if I encounter Royal Guard
or some such courtier,
I must inform them of your presence.
But I will not inform the Valkyrian Empire
of your presence, if that is what you mean.
Okay.
Let us converse.
And we'll be back in a bit.
He looks around. I am not going anywhere.
I'm hundo P putting that gag back on him though.
Uh, I think that he'd be like, leave the gag off.
There's been days since I've been able to at least breathe fresh air, not smell that
wretched thing.
I cannot harm you or cast magic with these mittens.
At least grant me this comfort.
I'm trying to remember if there's any spells he can cast with just his speech.
There'd be quite a lot.
There's a reason someone put it on him.
I can't take the risk.
We'll be back momentarily.
And I'm going to put it back on him.
He's very unhappy, and he does kind of, like,
try and make it difficult for you, but he can't really...
Like, he could try and fight you,
but he knows that Sentry and Lucius are up above,
so he just kind of reluctantly lets you.
But he's very unhappy about it.
Okay, and yeah, I want to fly up and meet up with Nova and Ayla as well.
Sure, yeah, they're right there.
Well, we have a guide willing to take us to Lunaria, provided we let them free, which is...
a good deal if you ask me. With no intention of harming Lucius, as beautiful as he finds him.
Wait, what?
Yeah, it's a whole thing.
It's not necessary detail, frankly.
Either way,
that could be our guide,
provided we choose the option of
leaving Herois
and flying through the Astral Sea
to get to Lunaria.
That's an option.
Which does mean
going to Thalia and her Astral
ship as soon as we can.
And trying to bypass
Alador and a
barricade of
Valkyrian ships.
I was also going to say
it came up
but I don't know if we should mention it to them
but they may know
Thalia's
adversary.
It's a long shot.
It's a long shot.
It's like
saying someone's from Aroas and they know
someone from
Cloud City. True. Cloud City, yeah. Lando Calrissian. saying someone's from aroas and they know someone from cloud cloud city true
cloud city lando calvary
our new old space pirate
um but you never know well again uh i can protect anyone from his magical influence, of which he has no idea about, by the way.
He has no idea the power he has over people.
Magically speaking, that is.
I can protect anyone from there
if anyone wants to go in there and speak to him.
That's good.
How do we know we can trust him?
He'd honor his deal. He's honourable enough.
In fact, the reason he hates Lucius so much is because he believes he broke that honour.
I think he'll stick to his word. Or contract. Written, signed contract as well.
Yes. Sign a contract.
Oh, that's what that scrumpled piece of paper is. Okay.
I mean, we tried.
It wasn't enough.
Yeah, he wants a proper
seals and fancy artwork
and scroll.
You can't just give him a scrap of paper that scares him
the ladder and he needs an elaborate
fucking thing.
We would have to make arrangements anyway.
You could have that drafted up. Yeah, you could have
Horizon drafted up for you.
We would have to make arrangements anyway. You could have that drafted up.
Yeah, you could have Horizon drafted up for you.
Well...
Nova?
So we can take this one,
but we still need to cross the Astral Sea to get there.
Unless Quill can find a way to empower the book. Or you find an archway.
Or you find any other means of planar transportation, yes. It's like you've got four sort of like
astral ship, archway, wayfinder's guide, or another miscellaneous planar transportation?
If we went through the archway,
would we need him?
Do we need... You don't know? Maybe.
Yeah. Don't know. Probably not.
Rub him on the gate.
It sounds like the archways can directly connect the two points, so you probably
wouldn't need a guide. It's only
if you were trying a plane shift or travel there in a natural ship and plane shift
is basically what the book does it's the same magic as players playing shift we
can try holding him yeah yeah I just don't feel like going into space is
gonna be the fastest option probably won't be the fastest
for sure
it will have its own dangers and it probably
won't be the fastest but it is a way you
know will work
that's like the trade off right like that's like the
guaranteed way yeah
I wouldn't say least risk
yeah there is also blockades
yeah two very very big three
big blockades including uh the
actual lunar i mean nova's like camo nova's camo cloak that she used with the invisibility spell
could work again and that could help you get past them um but yeah it's just that there is risks and
it would take some time the archways is kind of like the lesser known we kind of think we know
what we're doing and we vaguely know how it works
but if it works you'll avoid like all of the valkyrian influence stuff um and then the the
way find this guide is that like we have no clue how to make this work but it could
this is spreading new territory here yeah i i don't even know what i could do to even begin to find out about that sort of thing um i mean i you absolutely do
know uh you literally have a magic eye that answers questions you also have things like
legend lore and stuff like that you have access you have people like nova's professor you have
people like azaria perel like you have these np NPC allies that you could go and say, hey, do you know of a way that this could work?
You just need to ask.
I am also, without gaming it too much, like a day from my recharge on the eye.
That's not gaming it.
You would know when the power, like you would know that your eye is going to replenish in power.
Sure.
I'll use the eye then
and ask...
Hmm...
Talk amongst
yourselves for a bit while I figure
out this question. Let Tom have a think.
What about everyone else?
What are people thinking? What do people want
to do?
I wonder if it's worth asking if
what the coordinates to Linaria
are and then we go to
Cloud
Garden and try and get our way to
El Seraph and wherever this archway is.
That could be a question.
You absolutely could.
Or
could we find someone to just cast Plane Shift?
So you could.
Yeah, well, the problem there is like,
you absolutely know people who probably are powerful enough to do that.
Azaria, Perel, Danica,
probably powerful enough mages to be able to cast Plane Shift.
The problem is that the cradle generally blocks planar magic like that the way finders guide because it was
created by uh hespa bypasses that restriction so the way finders guide is like a kind of like
plane shift but it gets past the cradle if there was another way if you could find another way to
bypass the cradle then plane shift might work plane shift, you normally need to at least know
or have some sort of thing that can connect you to that plane.
So having summer boy, for example, might be enough.
But those are definitely things.
But you would need to have like a place or a thing or some unique power
or know somebody that has a unique power
that can bypass the Cradle's rules.
This is very much, you know, lots of possibilities.
You have lots of tools in your arsenal,
tools being things you guys can do,
characters you know, places you've been.
This is, there's lots of things
it's kind of more about picking which one you think is going to be uh the cost versus uh risk
benefit or risk versus reward benefits if it helps with decision making lucius thinks that if we were
to utilize the summer eladrin that is is to make Sentry and her Oath perfectly valid still.
We would not use the Archway.
Yeah, or what Max or Tassadar kind of informed you about.
Indeed.
Tom's still thinking.
I've got a question.
I'll use the eye to say,
how can I use the Wayfinder's Guide to Plane Shift to Lunaria
without binding a crystal to the location?
Ah, interesting.
Without binding a crystal to the location, yeah.
Okay.
The storm eye turns cloudy once more.
And in a rare instance, the vision is much more concise and clear than it has been of late.
Perhaps because the question is so specific.
Perhaps because the subjects of the crystal are not beyond its powers or perhaps aren't in conflict with its powers,
perhaps because Siaska's power itself is growing stronger.
You see yourselves.
You know this to be the future, Quill.
A possible future.
You are in Horizon.
You travel with your companions,
with Thalia, Kairi, Big Cat, Sentry, Ayla, Lucius, Nova.
You make your way to the Market Square here in Horizon.
To a little stall with a pretty centaur lady selling cosmetics.
And you present the Wayfinder's Guide to her and tell her to to just simply place a
place a hand upon it when she does one of the crystals seems to form a connection
and you know and that point you touch the crystal and you all vanish from
So at that point, you touch the crystal and you all vanish from Erois.
And then the next thing you see in the vision, you see the kind of shifting light.
You see the bifrost kind of colors, the prismatic magic surround you. You find yourselves standing in a world of immense trees.
You can see strange creatures flying in the air.
You see rolling greens and planes.
And all of you now stand in the Feywild.
All we had to do.
Just put a single little hoof onto...
The one thing that the book doesn't reveal
because you didn't ask is why this works.
Like you just asked how can you do it, and it showed you.
But you're just like, why does that work?
Like, the Wayfinder's Guide has never shown any implication that this is a way to use it.
Like, it is kind of like, what the hell?
Like, why does this work for Rosemeadow?
Okay, okay.
Okay, I'm back in the room.
So, we can use Rosemeadow,
the first person we spoke to, I know.
But there is a way to bind some fey energy into the crystal,
and Rosemeadow somehow has the ability to do that,
despite not even knowing that she was from there, but that will work.
I don't know the exact details of how she's able to do it,
but from what I could tell, she simply placed her hand on it.
Well, this is amazing.
Great. This is great, great news! All we had to do is just make Rosemeadow touch a book this entire time.
I mean, did Rosemeadow look any different in that vision?
No.
Ah, yes, yeah.
I can't help but feel bad that we really hyped up a summer eladrin to go on a journey with us to finally be free only for us to just completely abandon them
fuck that guy
he spoke to tassadar like you know he went through this whole thing
you know what we had a lovely time catching up with some old friends
it's all good
yeah it's lovely
tassadar I mean tassadar gave you a lot of information about more than just the the archway thing i think like you got quite a lot out of the
oh yeah no i like talking to you guys yeah but it is funny especially like when you were like
kim was like i just don't know what to do man i feel so fun i'm just there like yep yep, yep, yep, yep. Like, he was so close last week, I was just like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Like, two hours ago, I said, I'm going to use the eye on the book.
Two hours ago.
Yeah.
And what I did instead was look for Asadar.
And all I had to do was send him a message.
Yeah, that's funny.
Yeah. What a sending a message. Yeah, that's funny. Yeah.
What a waste of time.
Okay, so let's gather everyone, I guess,
and we'll speak to Rosemeadow and maybe take her with us.
Although the boundaries of the spell might not be able to bring her with us.
She was there.
In the vision, Rosemeadow was with you when you arrived in the new realm.
Like everyone that was there with us?
Okay.
Okay.
Cool.
Sweet.
I thought Plane Shift had less people it could take.
It does, yeah.
Plane Shift, the spell, does have less, does, yeah. Plane Shift the spell does have less,
but for whatever reason, the Wayfinder's Guide worked.
Man, I love book.
So anyway, there is...
That's another option.
What do you think of that one?
What do you mean that's another option?
That is the option.
Huh? Oh.
Kim, you okay there, Kim?
I'm just...
No, I'm fine.
I'm great.
How are you?
Are you sure?
Let's do it.
Are you okay?
You got anything?
Is there something to say?
You can say it.
It's fine.
No, I think it's just like, because of all the other stuff that happened last week, I
have a very sketchy memory about the Rosemeadow stuff because I was there was a lot going on yeah there was a lot basically she was just like
yeah yeah it was like hey you from the fey wild and she was like what's the fey wild and it was
like it's the place you're from is it okay wow wowee there we go i remember that wow
And then that was it.
Yes, wowee.
There we go.
I remember that.
Wowee.
I remember the wowee.
Yeah, wowee.
Lunaria rung a bell with her, I think.
Yeah, she said like,
it was something she could remember,
but she didn't.
It was like, yeah, she was like,
oh, why do I remember that?
Is that somebody I know?
Or is that like a thing?
I mean, I was expecting,
with the Wayfinder's Guide,
some huge ritual.
Maybe we'd have to sacrifice someone or something like that.
Or we'd have to put down a load of ingredients,
a thousand GP of stuff, whatever.
Tom, why don't you make an intelligence check for me?
I just want to see if, like, yeah.
Arcana or just straight intelligence?
Just D20 plus intelligence.
Just roll a D20 plus intelligence for me.
Natural one?
First roll.
No, you're like,
why the fuck does this work?
You're just completely like,
why does this work?
I don't understand.
Yeah, we did wisdom saves.
Oh, she's dead now.
This book is beyond me.
But it'll work.
Anyway, let's go, I guess. I love book.
Round up the troops.
I love book.
I think that that natural one
is Quill just going, I love guess. I love book. Round up the troops. I love book. I think that that natural one is Quill just going,
I love book.
I love book.
I love book.
Books are pretty great, yes.
Book good.
Book fixed.
Solve everything.
Yes, I, yeah.
Yeah.
Cool.
Yeah, let's go get everyone.
Let's go.
Yeah, let's go.
Well, so here's the thing.
Yeah, you go to the Twin Star Longbow,
and Nova, are you, is everyone going to the Twin Star?
Or is this like Nova wants to go first?
Okay.
Because otherwise everyone's going to go with you.
And that's going to be a whole big thing.
I'll ask everyone to give me a moment.
And I'll walk in on my own.
And yeah, what's the value?
Okay, yeah.
Making your way there, you find the kind of like big hanger
that they've assigned the twin star lombo for horizon is empty um as you get closer uh you see
kairi just sat on the little ramp that leads up into the uh into the the twin star and she's just
hugging big cat like her and big cat just sort of sat on the ramp and she looks
quite sad kairi's kind of like wiping her face and you can see like her feathers and things like that
you know she's got a big feathery hand wings um and she's just kind of hugging big cat and when
she sees you she kind of looks up and there's like this look of sort of like hope and happiness
um and she's like oh no no i'm glad that you're here. Are you okay?
Are you both okay?
Yeah, we're just, well, you know,
seeing Thalia like that,
it was so nice to see her transformed,
but she was upset and I think you should go in.
I'm worried.
We tried to, I told her not to do anything that she shouldn't and she
kind of yelled at me a little bit but i think she was upset and i'm just i'm afraid she's not had a
drink in a long time nova okay um we we have a plan okay i i think we'll fix this. Okay.
We may need you to come with us.
Oh, of course.
So maybe get prepared.
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, me and Big Cat will go anywhere.
And she just kind of like pats you with a big wing,
pats you on the shoulder.
Okay.
Okay.
Deep breath.
Deep breath.
I am really experienced in this.
First relationship. Yeah. Let's go. deep breath I am really experienced in this first relationship yeah when you
make your way through the twin star everything seems normal nothing's like
destroyed nothing's been broken you don't see any signs of like damage or
you know any sort of rampage or anything like that. But you do hear, I think you would hear the spinning of glass,
like somebody's glass on a table or something like that.
And you can see that the door to the cockpit is open.
You can see a pair of boots kind of sitting up on the cockpit,
on the dashboard of the arcane mechanisms.
But no
sound or anything like that. Just this
rolling glass sound.
I'm just going to take a deep breath.
Straighten up.
And walk in
and
sit down in the seat next
to Thalia.
Just looking forward.
Yeah, okay.
Well, you don't see her then.
You don't look over in her side.
You do hear like a kind of...
You hear some like little snake hisses
and a couple of the little snakes kind of like
coil up the chair and they kind of slither along your arms
and they kind of like lick your forearms a little bit.
But they just kind of settle and comfortably
kind of just almost like go to sleep, basically. They just
kind of like rest on your arms.
I'm assuming you don't look over to her
just yet.
I'll take a little look.
Okay. Yeah, you glance over.
I'm looking for bottles.
Well, that's the thing. You do see a lot of bottles.
They're all full.
And she's got one in her hand that she's rolling on, like, the armchair,
like the rest of her kind of seat.
And she's rolling it.
And you can see that it's opened, but none of it's been drunk yet.
And she's just looking at it.
And it's like you can see that there's this moment of wanting to but knowing
she shouldn't and she doesn't look at you she she is looking at this thing and you can see that
she's desperately trying to kind of keep it together and very slowly she just puts the cap
back on the bottle and puts it down.
And then she brings her hands up
and she's like holding them
as if to like hold them away from the bottle,
like physically restraining herself.
So I'm just going to stand up,
walk over,
take her hands in mine and i'm just gonna say she does let you but there's
there's some hesitation like she's gonna pull them away and then she lets you like her arms
just kind of go dead and you you take them but she still doesn't look at you she's like
looking like out the window she's looking at the ground, looking at your boots.
Ayla says, you know that I was under a spell.
I didn't mean what I said.
I just want to say... I'm here.
Well, I'm not 100% here.
What I felt...
That will take time.
But...
I'll do whatever it takes to make sure we have that time.
That's all.
She just sort of still doesn't quite look at, doesn't meet your gaze.
I know it's easy to say I didn't mean it and I do believe you
but I can't forget that look on your face either because I think that whatever happened
I don't think that was all a spell I don't think that was all magic, Nova. I can't begin to imagine the horrible things you saw.
But I knew in an instant what you'd seen.
There was only one thing that could make you look at me like that.
And, I mean, I can say I'm sorry.
I can say that I've learned my lesson.
I can say that all of these things, there's so many things I can say, but it that I've learned my lesson I can say that all of these things there's so
many things I can say but it doesn't change the past and it doesn't change the hurt
I don't think whatever happens even if we can get back to Lunaria, even if we can find Mesmera, I...
I don't think it can change anything.
I just...
I do know that if I've only got a couple of weeks left...
I want them to be with you.
And she'll finally kind of like, slowly look up and try and meet your eyes you can see like her highly saturated green eyes looking into yours
i don't know if we can i don't know if we'll get more time and if you can't have two weeks a week if I can just have two days still with you
it'll be worth it
but I also want to try and make this right
I've been running for
600 years.
I need to stop running.
I need to face her.
And
you know,
my dad, he said to me, he says a lot of things.
There's a few things that stuck out, though, and one thing's been going over in my head.
He says, pride is not the opposite of shame, but it's the source.
True humility is the only antidote to shame.
And it sounds like that's where you are. I'm here for you. Like I said,
you're right. The things that filled my head, the strength of that emotion,
that's gonna stick for a while.
But we'll fix this.
Because I am going to spend the next two days with you.
The next two weeks with you.
The next two months with you.
And then who knows?
We have a way.
We found a way.
To Lunaria.
And everyone else, they're behind us.
We have a chance.
She looks at you deep into the eyes.
I love you, Nova Veeja.
Okay.
Cool.
And that's where we'll end today's episode.
Oh, yeah. That was a a bit early but I'm done
so
there it is
there's that little thing in my heart again
just a little like a little flick against
Tom's heart
nothing will be better to me than Kim just going
for podcast listeners,
Mark the bird.
Quite aggressively.
Midway through that, just like,
I'm deserved.
Wowee.
Yeah, cool.
I think that's the right point to stop.
Yeah, that's a good end.
We can pick it up with pretty much you guys.
Gather the crew.
Go speak to Rosemeadow. Yeah. Go speak to Rosemeadow.
Yeah.
Yeah, go speak to Rosemeadow and then, whoop,
our way over to Lunaria.
Yeah, to the Feywild.
Hopefully it is Luci.
Just put a finger on the Wayfinder's guide
and we go, hopefully.
I mean, that's what the book showed you.
That's what the vision showed you.
That's what the eye showed you.
Yeah.
It'll do it, I believe.
God damn, we spoke to a lot of people today.
And we left a Summer Aladrin there and didn't even get back to him.
He's going to be so cursed.
Whoopsie.
Yeah, he is.
That's another little micro-villain that I can have come back in the future.
Oh, God, now he hates me.
Yeah, he's going to hate Lucius and Quill.
He's like the anti-Lucius and Quill now. He's going to specifically train to hate Lucius and Quill. He's like the anti-Lucius and Quill now.
He's going to specifically train
to kill Lucius and Quill.
I'm going to kill that beautiful one
and the bird.
Beautiful man
and your flying friend.
You will meet your end this day.
Yeah!
Man, I kind of want a then turn around
and get stabbed by him
I want a side story
like him breaking
out of prison like Kilek and Lucius
must die
yeah I want that story
against the walls of this 50 foot pit
yeah
Lucius quill
and the beautiful man
the beautiful
I really like that one I love speaking to
um Tassadar as well and his
smarmy all knowing
ways
what a jerk but god is he perfect
he is he is the superior being he is a perfect being
uh unlike you fleshy life forms meh stupid can you even can you even turn into cool weapons
no lame no i don't i don't even understand how book work yeah you book i love great i love book i love book nice cool um and yeah and then we'll have
uh feywild adventures with thalia kiri big cat and rosemallow four mpcs for me to roll and play
you didn't have to include them in the vision mark but you did come on come on thalia you can't i
can't have
farley ago and not have kind of a big cake though as well that would be lame so what's more is the
vision revealed that we don't need the summer eladrin the thing is is i think that the book
would show you the easiest option because like you didn't ask for it but it would probably show
you like the the link you could probably use the eladrin in a similar mate what manner maybe um but it showed you like a definite 100 way to use the
book but there is logic to it there is i saw a few people in chat kind of guess the rough theory
that i'm using to explain why this is working um which i thought Mesmera. Just slow and painfully. She is Mesmera, exactly.
This is all a ploy.
Yeah.
I called it with Ravs.
I called it with Rosemeadow.
The entire plane of the Feywild is inside Rosemeadow.
Yeah, that's exactly.
Yeah, it's actually on her back.
We are going to do the plane adventure.
Yeah.
Operation Suck Rosemeadow Dry is back in action.
Wow.
Operation suck, Rosemeadow Dry is back in action.
Wow.
I came up with a theory last week that what if Nova was actually in Mesmera all along and she was pretending to be Nova to get Thalia to fall in love.
Oh my God.
Betray her.
Completely.
Or even better, Nova's actually just a simulacrum of Mesmera with false memories implanted in it.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no.
What do you think Ayla's backstory is?
You're going to fight Callus and then I'm going to be like,
now is the time, Ayla.
And then Katie's going to be like, ha-ha.
All of them.
17. Pulls off the the wig it's black hair
