just feels kind of almost impossible not impossible that's not the right word but yeah i'm just a bit like there's a lot of choices figure out which way to go yeah uh remember that there's this like and i always say this, don't try and look for the best solution because there's no such thing. There are options and all of them are going to have their problems and all of them are going to have their good bits. They're just going to create interesting stories. So whichever one you pick, just make sure it's the one that you're like, my character

would want to do this because this is blah, right? No one is the correct answer. There's no correct or wrong answers. Yeah, Quill has said that the idea of going to a new... What is the alignment of this? Was it Cloud Garden, sorry? Was that the name of the... Cloud Garden's another Sky City, yeah.

I mean, Lucius would know a bit about it, but I don't think anybody else would. Maybe Quill would as well, like just from the messenger field stuff. In terms of like Valkyrian versus Arois alignment. Oh, you don't know that. No idea. They weren't at the summit. They didn't come to the summit. They weren't present. You've not interacted with them in any way. You do know, I would say lucius and quill would know that cloud garden is a much smaller um sky city it's not to the

same level as horizon and gust haven it would probably be closer to like a big town like a kind of you know it's not a metropolis city um like horizon is um you know gust haven's a little bit smaller than horizon but it's still a big city. Cloudgarden is much smaller. You know, nearly half the population of Gusthaven. Right. So not as much influence to go to a summit. No, probably not.

Like, they don't really keep to themselves because Sky Cities are, for the most part, self-sustainable. They just kind of float around and they do a bit of trading with ethereum and stuff like that and and with the lowlands but that's they kind of stick to themselves um not one that you would have had too much involved with lucius has probably seen like the biggest uh the most lucius probably would have known of cloud garden is sky jousters from cloud garden probably came to gust haven to take part in tournaments and stuff occasionally

but that's probably going to be it maybe to take part in tournaments and stuff occasionally. But that's probably going to be it. Maybe the Elinasto family probably did business selling Ethereum cages. We sold Archways to them. God. Wait. Yeah, it's not much there. you know when you spoke to her last week she had no idea really what you were talking about um you're not even sure if she is from the Feywild, but she certainly, like, nobody seems to know where she's from. I think we can put a pin in Operation Suck Rose Meadow Dry. That doesn't seem to work. Or maybe it does. Maybe it does.

But how does everyone feel about Cloud Gardens? Sounds nice this time of year. With what purpose, really? They are sending mercenaries to northern Al-Saraf to an outpost, the one that is potentially holding the original portal that we found under the abbey. Only downside is we would be going there as mercenaries, and Max pretty much said, Oh, come on, dudes, don't.

Max pretty much said, oh, come on, dudes, don't. So we'd pretend to be a cloud top mercenary and kind of infiltrate. See what they know. Like they're sending mercenaries out there for a reason. Try and find out what they know about Al-Saraf, northern Al-Saraf outpost. And using that information

to infiltrate it ourselves. Meanwhile, Vorten Sarr is again a Valkyrian-aligned Sky City. I don't know if that's a thing. I think that's going to be pretty tough. Vorten Sarr isn't a Sky City. At least for now. Vorten Sarr is the Gnast City.

But still, we can't really be seen there. I don't think it's an option yet. Well, I do intend to return there sometime soon. You know, the plans that we put in place to try at least and destabilise them. But I wonder that if us turning up there now to suddenly disappear very quickly

would mess with those plans. I, yeah. We don't have time, really. I think the Cloud Garden idea is perhaps our strongest. It's our strongest lead. And maybe I can figure out the coordinates along the way. And, yeah. Other than that,

uh, you're suspicious? I could potentially source... No, I'm thinking. It's my thinky face. Uh, okay. Perhaps I could source some of the old contacts that my family used to use at that area. I swear

And that's saying a lot because her voice does great. It does great. I'd like to canonically make it Aayla's thought to crush someone and put it in a crystal because Lucius hasn't actually mentioned that. It's only been a meta idea. Yeah, I think Aayla could come up with the idea of like,

if I'm going to crush somebody into a crystal, I can see Aayla just believing that that's what Quill means. Like when he says like, you you know empower the crystal of the book like Aayla's like that means putting crushing someone into a dust and putting them in it no that means covering your book in elanthron juice that'll get you there

well it would be better if it was him right? it would be quick and it would help if we suddenly have an instant use of him and can immediately get to Lunaris, then so be it.

Yeah. Lunaria. Lunaria. You can just call it the Feywild as well. You can just say Feywild. It's the same thing. If it doesn't get us anywhere, we can look at the other Sky City stuff. It's just a small pit stop on the way.

They've bound their hands and gagged them to stop them casting spells and things like that uh as you are making your way down there as you uh horizon one of the city districts has like a sort of uh underground well not underground it's like built into the core of the the floating island um there is a city there's a prison sorry they take you down into it um and as you get closer one of the it'd probably be um it'd probably be rain actually would come and be your liaison on this uh rain would say something along the lines of like whilst you have been dealing with other affairs there is something strange um the elandrin has changed when you first brought them here they were, there was fire and there was bright orange and yellow colorings to their skin and their hair and their clothes. That has completely changed. They've become very morose.

And as they have, the chamber has become cold. They seem to have undergone a physical transformation. Their skin is blue and their hair is white. They're refusing to speak to anybody. I have to keep my guards at a certain distance. We've actually had to create a perimeter effect. Those who were standing too close to the door were becoming influenced by the Eladrin's presence.

Just keep that in mind. Do you have any idea how long we may be able to stay in this place? I think it entirely depends on your own mental fortitude. I think that it depends on those who have a strong will. I managed to approach, and while we were organizing this, I managed to approach, and I could feel a magical influence, but I'm somewhat resistant to those sorts of things, and I managed to shrug it off. It does seem to be that elven individuals or those with elven

blood seem to be able to resist it a little bit easier, but it depends entirely on the person's mental willpower. I'm going to stay outside, guys, because last time, one of those stupid little elf stupid little eldrin people made me dance for like a long time and it was awful and i'm not doing it again okay just because i'm not quite as smart as everyone else i can help in some small way uh for anyone that does want to stay um with my beacon of hope maybe for anyone that does want to stay. With my beacon of hope, maybe. But anyone that does want to go in there,

Sentry? 13. 13's just enough, actually. Just barely succeeds. So all of you feel this kind of presence. As soon as you get next to the door, and you can see that the guards have actually had to be positioned fairways away. There's no map. I pressed the wrong button.

Oh, thanks. Just ignore it. As soon as you get within a certain distance, yeah, you feel this kind of presence trying to overwhelm you and like melancholy and sadness, and you almost feel like your movements want to slow down, but you kind of shrug it off, you shake your head, and you press through this effect. And as you approach the door,

it magically seems to unlock at your presence, and you can open it and step through you can see that the jail cell is actually uh like a kind of like a short distance and then it's like a pit that goes down um it's about sort of like 50 foot drop down and then you can see that there is like a comfortable looking cell there's like a bed uh there is like a kind of like small chamber for like chamber pot and stuff like that there is is a pulley system used to lower things up and down. It looks like this is used to house people that might have certain abilities that would make escaping easier.

And you look down and you can see that the Eladrin has his hands bound in these giant leather mitts. So it's just enough that he can hold things, but he has no like fine finger control he can't like make gestures for spells or anything like that and he has like a leather gag over his mouth as well um uh and he he is completely different you see that he still has the same sort of facial features his hair is the same style he has the thin little mustache but where he was once all flamey and orange and yellow it is now blues um the hair is like this white almost kind of uh ombre effect

into like a ice ice blue green um you can see that the mustache is now made of almost like frosted icicles uh that kind of form this carry us kind of like little mustache um and his clothes are all blue um and yeah there's this kind of like icy presence about him um okay i'm gonna beacon of hope before we get in there so everyone has advantage on saves and uh uh and uh throughout this process i'm also gonna stick near century as well or at least within 10 feet of her, obviously. Yeah, I'm assuming you and Lucius will both stay within Sentry's aura. Yeah, he looks up at you, and when he sees Lucius especially, his eyes just narrow, and he sits down on the bed and just looks at the floor. You look very different to last we saw you in the combat.

Just sort of like turns his head. You can see that he's ganked, he can't speak. Would you like, with a nod, to converse with us? We can take the gag off. What's up? Shrugs. Is that a yes? Shrugs.

So yeah, Sensory, how are you going to get down? Use the pulley? This pulley is like for like a bucket. It's like for like a small. It's like for a small... Oh, I see. This thing will snap the second you use it. Okay then.

Jump on down. Sorry, how wide is this pit? I'm not gonna be like... It's wide, it's like a jail cell. It's like 20 by 20 feet. It's a big space, it's a decent sized space. Okay. I mean, yeah, I'll... by 20 feet it's it's it's a big space like you know it's a decent sized space okay i i mean yeah i'll i'll clap down there and uh go to take off the uh the gag so you can speak yeah yeah he

doesn't resist uh he stays sitting down um you kind of move up you unlatch the the gag thing you take it off you can see his hands like he's big mitten hands he kind of like shuffles them around but you don't see that he can use in any way he can't like wield a weapon he can grab you with them like they completely engulf his hands basically um and yeah like you you take the the thingy off um and he just lets you take it off and then doesn't doesn't say what we're doing i think you see him just kind of like coughs a couple of times maybe like wipes his mouth with the big leather mitt licks his lips now we can talk we can okay now uh you seem to be glaring at Lucius up there. Yes, of course. Why wouldn't I? I thought that I was fighting honorable warriors. I

thought that I was going to have a true challenge battle. And then when I surrendered in good faith, seeing my companions flee after their defeat, you decided to use foul magic to force me to give up secrets of my my loyalty my empire in our defense we were protecting a rowers from those that would try to manipulate the minds of villages you mean manipulate the minds we We were speaking with them. We spoke to them. We told them of the wonders of the Valkyrian of the Empire, of the joys that we would bring. There was a magical effect on them, right?

I mean, you felt like a magical compulsion when you tried to come into this room. No, I mean a magical effect on the people that we were... Yeah, some of them were charmed. Yeah, some of them were definitely charmed. You remember breaking them free of the charm effect. I mean, speaking wasn't getting through to them.

I broke whatever spells you had on them. Whatever spells, those must have been cast by yourself. I did not. We did not cast any spells of control upon them. Why would we? People listen to us. Not that I would expect you to understand.

And yet I feel the power of this compulsion when I enter this room. He looks at you confused. He's just like, I do not know what you're speaking about. Perhaps it is merely the presence, being in the presence of a of a splendid being such as myself. Your people of this strange world are not accustomed to the beauty and wonder of the Eladrin race.

Perhaps it is merely our presence that befuddles you. But it is not some malicious charm, as your witch, your befouling sorcerer up there did to me. The befouling sorcerer can

see the aura of magics much differently to us, and I can feel it too. I can tell a magical effect when I feel it. Well, then that is placed by your people. I am no mage. I am a warrior. I'm looking up at these guys now. I mean, he's just simply not aware of... I mean, yeah, Quill, like, from...

Your reading of this is this guy either doesn't know that he has a magical like effect that that people around him it like you know magically charms people or he's lying and just playing dumb but he's playing dumb one way or the other either this guy doesn't know or he's pretending not to know it's not why we're here quill don't worry about it it's not in any case we request information from you ah yes i see no amount of torture you do will get me to yield any more secrets. If you want me to divulge any more, you will have to use your magic tricks, your vile grip of my mind.

You see that the hair is, there's like gold and orange is beginning to sort of grow out from the roots and spread down the white hair. You can see his clothing is beginning to like turn from this pale blue to almost like a, what's like a mix between like blue and sort of like yellow and red. It's like beginning to shift colors. Yeah, kind of, I guess it would be, yeah.

You wish to be free of this place to fight for the Valkyrian Empire once more, maybe to take revenge on him up there. Arrangements can be made. With your information, you don't have to stay in this place. You are offering me some sort of deal for my freedom?

The astral ships that we passage, you would need a guide. You would need an astral ship to go beyond the cradle and to enter the Twilight Nebula. And for that, you would need a guide, a fae being born of Lunaria to take you there. Do you see what I'm getting at now? You could be that guide. Or indeed, maybe we have a way to bypass that entirely

with this book that allows me to travel to, well, anywhere, provided the energy is inserted in these crystals. He looks at you as if trying to kind of work you out. And for this, you would give me back my freedom. You would allow me to go free in exchange for taking you to Lunaria. I'll look up at the others first. Do I have to fight or something?

I mean, I cannot guarantee that your freedom means that we will put you in an arena against Lucius. But maybe in your freedom, you'll find a way to him. Take these wretched mitts and give me a blade. he seems to like spend a minute thinking he is now completely transformed back to this flaming summer eladrin that you once knew him as whatever melancholy was there is completely gone and he's kind of back to this blazing form that he once had um flamio hotman flamio hotman i would have it sworn I would have it sworn. I would have it sworn upon. I would have a written confirmation of your promise and a sworn oath under this, what is it, that you Erosians care for?

Siasca, this goddess of yours. Swear upon her that you will see this deal honoured. And I will take you to Lunaria. Under Siaska, we can have written confirmation that upon arrival to Lunaria, you will be freed. However, you cannot harm Lucius

on this journey, or any of us. You'll be our guide. You may not. Then you will give me 24 hours. After we have arrived at Lunaria, you will not attempt to recapture or harm me for 24 hours. Again, looking up at everyone else. I have... He throws down the notebook and quill.

In those 72 hours, you are not allowed to inform anyone of our presence on Lunaria. I will not inform anyone of the Valkyrian Empire, but I have loyalties beyond the Emperor. It is the archfey. Whatever area that you wish to travel to, the archfey must be informed. Lunaria does not work as your plane does. There are rules.

And by rules, I do not mean laws, petty things written by men and women. I mean magical rules that must be enforced. As such, I must, I must, if I encounter a servant of the Archfey, if I encounter Royal Guard or some such courtier, I must inform them of your presence.

But I will not inform the Valkyrian Empire of your presence, if that is what you mean. Okay. Let us converse. And we'll be back in a bit. He looks around. I am not going anywhere. I'm hundo P putting that gag back on him though. Uh, I think that he'd be like, leave the gag off.

It's only if you were trying a plane shift or travel there in a natural ship and plane shift is basically what the book does it's the same magic as players playing shift we can try holding him yeah yeah I just don't feel like going into space is gonna be the fastest option probably won't be the fastest for sure it will have its own dangers and it probably

won't be the fastest but it is a way you know will work that's like the trade off right like that's like the guaranteed way yeah I wouldn't say least risk yeah there is also blockades yeah two very very big three big blockades including uh the

actual lunar i mean nova's like camo nova's camo cloak that she used with the invisibility spell could work again and that could help you get past them um but yeah it's just that there is risks and it would take some time the archways is kind of like the lesser known we kind of think we know what we're doing and we vaguely know how it works but if it works you'll avoid like all of the valkyrian influence stuff um and then the the way find this guide is that like we have no clue how to make this work but it could this is spreading new territory here yeah i i don't even know what i could do to even begin to find out about that sort of thing um i mean i you absolutely do know uh you literally have a magic eye that answers questions you also have things like

legend lore and stuff like that you have access you have people like nova's professor you have people like azaria perel like you have these np NPC allies that you could go and say, hey, do you know of a way that this could work? You just need to ask. I am also, without gaming it too much, like a day from my recharge on the eye. That's not gaming it. You would know when the power, like you would know that your eye is going to replenish in power. Sure. I'll use the eye then

I wonder if it's worth asking if what the coordinates to Linaria are and then we go to Cloud Garden and try and get our way to El Seraph and wherever this archway is. That could be a question. You absolutely could.

Or could we find someone to just cast Plane Shift? So you could. Yeah, well, the problem there is like, you absolutely know people who probably are powerful enough to do that. Azaria, Perel, Danica, probably powerful enough mages to be able to cast Plane Shift. The problem is that the cradle generally blocks planar magic like that the way finders guide because it was

created by uh hespa bypasses that restriction so the way finders guide is like a kind of like plane shift but it gets past the cradle if there was another way if you could find another way to bypass the cradle then plane shift might work plane shift, you normally need to at least know or have some sort of thing that can connect you to that plane. So having summer boy, for example, might be enough. But those are definitely things. But you would need to have like a place or a thing or some unique power or know somebody that has a unique power

that can bypass the Cradle's rules. This is very much, you know, lots of possibilities. You have lots of tools in your arsenal, tools being things you guys can do, characters you know, places you've been. This is, there's lots of things it's kind of more about picking which one you think is going to be uh the cost versus uh risk benefit or risk versus reward benefits if it helps with decision making lucius thinks that if we were

to utilize the summer eladrin that is is to make Sentry and her Oath perfectly valid still. We would not use the Archway. Yeah, or what Max or Tassadar kind of informed you about. Indeed. And you present the Wayfinder's Guide to her and tell her to to just simply place a place a hand upon it when she does one of the crystals seems to form a connection and you know and that point you touch the crystal and you all vanish from So at that point, you touch the crystal and you all vanish from Erois. And then the next thing you see in the vision, you see the kind of shifting light. You see the bifrost kind of colors, the prismatic magic surround you. You find yourselves standing in a world of immense trees. You can see strange creatures flying in the air.

You see rolling greens and planes. And all of you now stand in the Feywild. All we had to do. Just put a single little hoof onto... The one thing that the book doesn't reveal because you didn't ask is why this works. Like you just asked how can you do it, and it showed you. But you're just like, why does that work?

Like, the Wayfinder's Guide has never shown any implication that this is a way to use it. Like, it is kind of like, what the hell? Like, why does this work for Rosemeadow? Okay, okay. Okay, I'm back in the room. So, we can use Rosemeadow, the first person we spoke to, I know. But there is a way to bind some fey energy into the crystal,

and Rosemeadow somehow has the ability to do that, despite not even knowing that she was from there, but that will work. I don't know the exact details of how she's able to do it, but from what I could tell, she simply placed her hand on it. Well, this is amazing. Great. This is great, great news! All we had to do is just make Rosemeadow touch a book this entire time. I mean, did Rosemeadow look any different in that vision? No.

um and she's like oh no no i'm glad that you're here. Are you okay? Are you both okay? Yeah, we're just, well, you know, seeing Thalia like that, it was so nice to see her transformed, but she was upset and I think you should go in. I'm worried. We tried to, I told her not to do anything that she shouldn't and she

kind of yelled at me a little bit but i think she was upset and i'm just i'm afraid she's not had a drink in a long time nova okay um we we have a plan okay i i think we'll fix this. Okay. You hear some like little snake hisses and a couple of the little snakes kind of like coil up the chair and they kind of slither along your arms and they kind of like lick your forearms a little bit.

But they just kind of settle and comfortably kind of just almost like go to sleep, basically. They just kind of like rest on your arms. I'm assuming you don't look over to her just yet. I'll take a little look. Okay. Yeah, you glance over. I'm looking for bottles.

Well, that's the thing. You do see a lot of bottles. They're all full. And she's got one in her hand that she's rolling on, like, the armchair, like the rest of her kind of seat. And she's rolling it. And you can see that it's opened, but none of it's been drunk yet. And she's just looking at it. And it's like you can see that there's this moment of wanting to but knowing

she shouldn't and she doesn't look at you she she is looking at this thing and you can see that she's desperately trying to kind of keep it together and very slowly she just puts the cap back on the bottle and puts it down. And then she brings her hands up and she's like holding them as if to like hold them away from the bottle, like physically restraining herself. So I'm just going to stand up,

walk over, take her hands in mine and i'm just gonna say she does let you but there's there's some hesitation like she's gonna pull them away and then she lets you like her arms just kind of go dead and you you take them but she still doesn't look at you she's like looking like out the window she's looking at the ground, looking at your boots. Ayla says, you know that I was under a spell. I didn't mean what I said. I just want to say... I'm here.

Well, I'm not 100% here. What I felt... That will take time. But... I'll do whatever it takes to make sure we have that time. That's all. She just sort of still doesn't quite look at, doesn't meet your gaze. I know it's easy to say I didn't mean it and I do believe you

but I can't forget that look on your face either because I think that whatever happened I don't think that was all a spell I don't think that was all magic, Nova. I can't begin to imagine the horrible things you saw. But I knew in an instant what you'd seen. There was only one thing that could make you look at me like that. And, I mean, I can say I'm sorry. I can say that I've learned my lesson. I can say that all of these things, there's so many things I can say, but it that I've learned my lesson I can say that all of these things there's so many things I can say but it doesn't change the past and it doesn't change the hurt

I don't think whatever happens even if we can get back to Lunaria, even if we can find Mesmera, I... I don't think it can change anything. I just... I do know that if I've only got a couple of weeks left... I want them to be with you. And she'll finally kind of like, slowly look up and try and meet your eyes you can see like her highly saturated green eyes looking into yours i don't know if we can i don't know if we'll get more time and if you can't have two weeks a week if I can just have two days still with you it'll be worth it

but I also want to try and make this right I've been running for 600 years. I need to stop running. I need to face her. And you know, my dad, he said to me, he says a lot of things.

There's a few things that stuck out, though, and one thing's been going over in my head. He says, pride is not the opposite of shame, but it's the source. True humility is the only antidote to shame. book but there is logic to it there is i saw a few people in chat kind of guess the rough theory that i'm using to explain why this is working um which i thought Mesmera. Just slow and painfully.
