Poor tired big cat can only get about halfway the distance. So we go to Nova Vida. You watch as your elf girlfriend is being carried away by this horrid creature

being crushed to death. I'm not pleased by this turn of events. Not pleased at all. I would like to... Bonus action, Misty Step, 30 foot. Yes. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30. And then Difficult Terrain the rest of the way

15 feet you have just enough movement yep and then I am going to now quick question here's a Kim question I love it it's a Kim question, I love it. It's a Kim question.

It's a cheeky one. It's a bit of a cheeky one. No! Because I know, I know. I haven't done that in a while though, so it's gonna be... So obviously I cast Misty Step using the little amulet that Thalia gave me. I want to Dimension Door, grab Thalia and Dimension Door back. But that's two spells.

But I feel like, because Dimension Door happens through Tiangong, so no. Fine. He's got his own turn, does he? Listen, I love cool RP. I love cool RP. I'm a big fan of people doing cool things.

But there's still the rules of the game, Kim. There's still the hard rules. If we don't play with the rules, why even bother having any at all? Let's just not even roll that. Are they just guidelines? Just guidelines? No, they're not guidelines.

They're rules. Yeah, they're hard rules. Hands up in chat if you would like to see me dimension talk. No, that's not how we play. This is not Twitch Plays D&D. And also,

I'm not even sure Twitch would rule in your favor. I would not want to risk that vote either. They want Thalia to die. They want me to grieve on air. They want the drama. Yeah.

So, no, unfortunately, the power to summon the spell of the Misty Step, even though it is through this little charm, magically there is not enough time or energy to be able to cast another spell. That's fair. So I'm going to attack with Tiangong instead. Can I cast Eldritch, not Eldritch Blast, Green Flame Blade?

Green Flame Blade, yes, it's cantrip. Yes, you can. Cantrip, okay. 26 to hit. 26 to hit. 26 to hit, yes. That will hit, yes. That is 13 points of Tiangong damage. And then...

Yes, that will be the normal damage. And now you need to do the extra damage from Greenflame Blood. It's a terrible roll. Four points of green flame damage. Was that just the d4? It's not coming off of my thing. It's 2d8. It's 2d8s I rolled

and I got a four. It was 2d8. That's what I got. You lash out with the flame. The sword catches the mossy cloak. It burns away this trail of like moss and vines revealing this hag-like creature

underneath but it's still standing and it is just in a desperate flee now you can see that it realizes that it's picked a fight with the wrong people and it's attempting to flee with its dinner or its prey or whatever it's going to do with thalia if it gets away but it's not enough if it gets away, but it's not enough. This whole time as well, Nova is screaming, just like, get away from her! Put her down! Like, just like, inca her.

Get away from her, you bitch! You bitch! You bitch! Well, Ayla followed by Quill. I'm going to just stroll back onto the raft and I'm going to hurl the hammer at it. Casual. Yeah. Expand the charge and I'm going to

try and hurl the hammer. That's 17 plus 14 to hit. That will hit. Wow. So it takes 18 damage from the hammer, and then also 46 of lightning. So...

5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. 11 points for lightning damage. So, Nova, as you cut away this mossy hide and you're chasing after her, you've pursued through the fog. Even with the fog giving AC, this still would have hit. I realized I didn't add that. You managed to turn.

You can see this creature is about to flee away, but you've slowed it down by attacking it. You gave it enough pause that you hear this kind of... And then you just watch as its entire back is knocked to the side. The creature is almost propelled forward, and Thalia is dropped out of its grip as this giant warhammer just collides into it, sending lightning coursing through its body. And then you just watch the hammer backspin

and back into Aayla's hands back on the raft. Thalia lands in the water, kind of like... And kind of like... Kind of, and kind of like, gah, kind of comes up gasping for air. She's got pistols drawn, is looking around. You can see her ribs have probably been heavily broken and crushed.

She's leaning on them quite heavily. But yeah, alive for the time being. And this other creature is long dead. Long dead. That was fun. Wow. Imagine Aela just stood on the raft went judged it yeah eyeballed it anything else in all this light are we out so far yeah

you see the the marsh bubbles and things like that but yeah seemingly no other creatures and whatever whatever these things were quill you suspect that these things scared away any sort of other natural animals or or creatures in the area i mean i just emerged from the water uh from gross swamp water covered in melted whatever the hell this is. I am a mess right now. Lucius destroyed this thing. I'm just going to slowly drudge my way back to the raft.

Quill? Is that Quill? Quill, are you okay? I'm back. It's everywhere. Oh, dear God. It's gross. I'll wave a finger. Staking his wings.

Don't shake. Don't shake. I'm okay. I'll help. Press the digitation. Yep. You can just clean him off. It's going to take some multiple.

You're drawing it into my feathers. I'm not. It's magical. You're just smooshing it in where's salia it's kind of cleaning it uh you see big cat sort of like bound up big cat kind of like bounds up to thalia and sort of like pushes himself up against her and you as well nova sort of like running around the two of you uh thalia completely sodden and like soaked from the swamp water just kind of is like, I think I had him on the ropes. Almost, it was a close call.

It was a very close call. Super close. Can you walk? We gotta get back to the raft. You're really not looking great. Quill, Quill, Quill! Sort of like slings an arm around you and you have to like help drag her through the water.

Takes you a bit of time because obviously it's difficult terrain. I think I'll go help because I can better carry Thalia as well. Minus two strength. Plus seven. When Aayla flops into

the swamp I'm like, it's going to be a queue. Century's like doing that thing where she paces up and down. I'm fine. Lucius, don't bother. Okay, it can be gross. It's gonna be a queue. Sentry's like doing a thing where she paces up and down. I'm fine. Lucius, don't bother. It's gross.

Okay, it can be gross. Sentry's kind of like pacing up and down. Oh, is everything all right? Oh, Quill. And like just checking everybody over. Are you hurt? Do you need any healing? Doing Sentry stuff.

I'll do all the healing when everyone is back on the raft. I've got some. I can spare a bit of healing if you need it. In fact, yeah. Sentry's just going to put... She's going to lay on hands you for 20 points, Quill. Boom. Nice. I am looking rough. That really

hit me hard. She does that. Yeah, you got crushed a lot. I got crushed a lot. Kairi will probably flap over to check on Thalia as well, but being a non-combatant, they were hard. She does that. Kyrie will probably flap over to check on Thalia as well, but being a non-combatant, they were basically just stood next to Lucius, just like cowering. Aayla,

as a point, if you hadn't engaged that one behind you, that one was coming for Kyrie. When you moved to intercept it, it was reaching for Kyrie basically. It was going to try and snatch. She looked the weakest, so she was going to try and snatch her up and do the same thing and run off so yeah you mentioned the weak ones yeah these these creatures were specifically targeting the ones they thought would be the easiest to grab and and carry away um yeah they're right though they're right

so i think the thing is as well as nova doesn't look like because although nova is physically Yeah, they're right though. They're right. They got me twice. Yeah. So I think the thing is as well is Nova doesn't look like, because although Nova is physically weak, she has like armor and weapons. So to their eyes, it's like, oh, that one's probably more dangerous. Yeah, Thalia has like no armor on. She's just got a white shirt on and weird things in her hands. Like, yeah.

So yeah, you managed to kind of all reconvene. Like, there's no danger, so you guys all sort of just managed to get back up on the raft. Now everyone's back, and I managed to get through an entire combat without burning a single spell slot, so I'll do it now instead. Wow, excellent. I'll Beacon of Hope,

and then 3d8 maxed plus 6, 20, 30 healing to 6 people. How much? I didn't get hurt. I didn't get hurt. No, not 60, 30, 30, 36, 30. 30 for 6 people. 30 hit points. 30 hit points, 2.

I think it's only you thalia and century took a tiny bit of damage oh so she took one hit but like it's not a lot five points uh yeah well ayla that's healed uh yeah 30 thry. Yeah. Let's go with that. I didn't see half the fight. I don't know who got hit. Yeah. I think we should push on if we can. We're really pushing our limits here in terms of staying awake.

In the cold night, yeah, you can see Thalia is, like, shivering because she's, like, soaked through and she's, like, shivering on the raft. This swamp is quite cold at night um kairi big cat and rose meadow are all like they're barely keeping their eyes open like big cat especially now looks very tired um why don't you guys there is nap on the raft we'll we'll just we'll keep it moving are you sure i didn't know rose meadow's just ramblingambling in that sleepy sort of like, she doesn't really know what she's saying. It's just like, blah, blah, blah, blah.

How long have we been on this high tide? About four hours. Yeah, it hasn't dropped. It's been about four hours. Okay. I think we should press on and use what travel time we have. And wherever the water dumps us, we can use that as a resting spot. Agreed. All right. Centrally damaged.

We're just going to push on as long as the water lasts. Is that the plan? I think so, yeah. That works. Well, you will still need somebody to be the pathfinder, so somebody to kind of, like, you know, guide you and make sure you're not getting lost and stuff like that. And you will still need a lookout in case any more events take place.

Well, Lucius is a... Quill, you also need somebody to push the... You also need somebody to push the raft. Quill, you can't be the Pathfinder because you just were for four hours. You need to swap with somebody. And then the lookout needs to change as well because I think it's been farlier and ailer so far yeah aside from dancing lights i can't see anything again yeah well um the wall of light is still up um you'll quickly move out of this range though in like a long distance travel well it's 120 foot and then 120

foot dim light so yeah 120 feet in terms of like in 10 minutes you'll be out of that range kim like you'll literally be out of range of that light super quickly so that's not going to help you unfortunately um i mean you could quill you could cast like the light cantrip it will only give you like sort of like 20 30 feet of light but it would be something but again yeah i again light in the darkness will you'll be very visible to any other creatures in the swamp I think as visible as dancing lights though right

dancing lights in this environment kind of blend in because they can look like marsh lights because they move and they're only small little orbs and they give off less light if you cast light on your staff it will illuminate all of your figures, the raft will be lit up,

and it will be a beacon of like, we are here kind of drifting through. It will be a little bit different to dancing lights. I think I would only ever really, because I can put it on and off whenever I want, basically. So I think anytime we're in rough terrain or we need to weave through something really close to the raft or whatever, that's when I'll use

it and then just switch it off afterwards. Sure. But, yeah. What roles are we taking? Yeah, we need somebody to do survival checks as the pathfinder and somebody to do perception checks as the lookout and then somebody to push the raft as well.

I can push the raft if Sentry doesn't want to yeah I think I do a better job a bit harder this time looking out rather than being our guide hmm what what was that cool you okay do you need more prestige education yes please yes yeah yeah no that's you okay all right well if Lucius is, well, if Lucius is going to be the lookout, you still need somebody to be the pathfinder, and it can't be Quill, because he was the pathfinder last time.

That's over. So she's like, well, I could try. I know a little bit about, you know, traveling through wilderness and things like that. I can give it my best. Sure. Yeah, I don't need as much sleep as the rest of you so yeah okay um all right well century will be the pathfinder so century's gonna make survival lucius make a perception ayla make an athletics it is a

difficult it's a harder check for you alex you've already done this once today so uh i rolled a 3 You did So luckily Cintra rolled a 26 On her survival 25 On my athletics Athletics okay no worries Tom Hazel please roll a d4 For me Okie dokie

1 1 okay so after about an Hour of travelling Damn it I remember what the 1 is Damn it One, okay. So after about an hour of traveling, which means... Damn it, I remember what the one is. Damn it. My d4 rolls suck. Sorry, not 15. Maybe a total of 18 hours.

You don't get lost. Sentry manages to kind of keep you on track. But after about an hour, the waterline has reduced to the point where the raft once again kind of hits mud and sort of like tree roots and is become stuck um you don't know how long the it will take for the water level to rise up but there are definitely areas that if you wanted to you could try and search for somewhere where you might be able to find like drier ground um you can go a little bit you will have to like scout away from the raft you'll have to like go and try and find somewhere to camp for the night i'll remain here with my dancing lights on the raft so that we can navigate back to it if someone wants to scout for a good place to rest for now i can have a look i've got. Well, when it's lit up anyway.

Wherever we go, I can cast, um, Learman's tiny hut when we're ready and that'll keep us dry and comfortable. Yes. We just need to make sure the raft is tied up in case the tide comes in while we're sleeping. Well, also, yeah, you can't be, if you're in the hut and the water level comes back in, the water will still come in the hut you need to be on like a high ground basically for the to take a rest find a tree who's gonna

try and find that it will be either a survival nature or perception check uh yeah i'm gonna have a wonder sure yeah multiple people can make the check yeah i could do survival

sure sir he's making the check anybody's making a check make a check oh I rolled a 19 so 20 25 I rolled a 19 for my survival whoa so Nova your knowledge of the natural world I'm assuming Nova my survival. So, Nova, your knowledge of the natural world, I'm assuming Nova has gained through books, mainly, from Erois. So you know a lot about swamps. Everything you encounter in this swamp, you look at it and go like, I have no idea what that is. Nope, these trees, don't know what they are. Oh, God, what is this?

And you find this weird spongy rock. Like, I have no idea what this is. Is this poisonous? Oh, God, I hope I'm not coming up in a rash, that sort of thing. Like, you have really no idea what any of this flora or fauna is. Great purple. Yeah. But Quill and Aayla both being sort of, like,

Quill with keen vision and sort of, like, understanding of the environment, even in the darkness, because I think you've got like 26, right? So with a minus five, you're still at 21. Oh, yeah. And then Ayla with your knowledge of survival. Yeah, it doesn't take you too long where you realize that out in this swamp,

you're not going to find any like solid, nice ground to camp on. But Ayla, you look up and Quill, you kind of notice this as well. A lot of the trees where they grow, thegrove trees where they glow grow close together they have really thick branches that almost form like nets like a canopy and you think actually if we tie the raft to the like these trees so it doesn't float away we could probably climb up and get everybody up there put down like you know some coverages and that's probably going to be the safest driest most comfortable place to rest is up in these trees um you know you can actually pull like some twigs and

branches and big ferns and things like that down you know it's not going to be a comfortable night sleep but it will be uh better than trying to sleep on wet spongy ground yeah i mean i'll fly up there and kind of test the netting like i know how many people need to come up here uh it's it's these like these branches are very thick and there's many of them and they interlace and so you know that by doing that they're creating a much stronger foundation um yeah even like century and rose meadow it's probably going to be difficult to get rose meadow up here but probably ayla and century can help her and thenemeadow up here, but probably Aayla and Sentry can help her. And then when she's up here, she should be supported. Okay.

I think up here works, Aayla. If you're able to tie the raft down somewhere, it seems secure enough, but then I am me, and I'm very light. So... Hollowbones. Got it. Sentry, get up the tree.

Find out if Hollowbones is actually telling the truth. Sentry can climb these trees easily enough. She's super strong and easily does so. Yeah, I mean, look, I don't want to take too long if there's roleplay bits you want to do, but if not... No, I'd like to stop roleplay bits now. No more roleplay, please. We're all business here now. Yeah, we're just all business. Just rolls, no RP, none. You tie the raft off beneath this area. You know, you have to kind of drag the raft to get there. By the time you get there, Kairi is literally fast asleep.

Like Thalia is probably like helping carry her, sort of like, you know, picks her up, kind of find and carry. Big Cat is like droopily following behind. And Rosemeadow, you have to kind of picks her up kind of find and carry um big cat is like droopily following behind and rose meadow you have to kind of wake her up and bring her towards the tree and then help her get up but eventually after about another hour or so you do manage to kind of get everybody up into these trees and you can finally take a long rest um should we click the button now or we may attack to our sleep you may click the button now yes oh my eighth level spell back yeah the only person who really needed that long rest was quill, I think. Because of hit points rather than anything.

Really bad. I also get to re-roll my garbage portents. Yeah, I think that maybe during the Night Nova, you have to tend to Thalia's, not wounds, but she's clearly broken or bruised her ribs, and so you have to bandage them and splint them up a little bit to help them heal. Quill's healing magic can help with a little bit of that you've got like rituals and stuff like that but yeah like it is kind of you have to tend to it and she's very like

if we do encounter anyone who can make sort of armor perhaps i should invest in at least something sounds like a good idea to me i was looking at at, we don't have any, does anyone have anything on them? No, I think we all sold it, didn't we? It probably won't fit anyway, dear. It's fine. I just forgot, obviously, spending so long in my previous form, there was like a natural toughness to my skin when I was a Medusa,

so I didn't quite realise how vulnerable I am now. It's not great, is it? Yeah, no, I have nothing on me. It's fine. Hopefully we won't encounter too much trouble from now on. Until we get to the woods, at least. Oh, you could wear this chain that I recently acquired. Oh, really? What's it look like? Yes, that's beautiful, Lucius. If that's fair, I'd love to.

Is it magical? Yes, that's beautiful, Lucius. Yes, I mean, if that's fair, I'd love to. Yes, that's gorgeous. Is it magical? Yes. The Stormcaller chain, yes. Oh, for... Ignore him. Well, you can borrow it for now. No, ignore him.

I mean, if Lucius is offering the armor and I need it. Is this not... The thing is that he also really needs it. He just sometimes gets funny about fashion. the armor and I need it is this not is there something I'm missing? he also really needs it he just sometimes gets funny about fashion that's true I'm a bit more I suppose I'm a bit more athletic than Lucius as well perhaps I can take a few more punches well

well I'm sure you can Thalia I'm sure you can well with that I'm sure you can, Talia. I'm sure you can. Well, with that... Does anyone have any idea of exactly how far through this thing we are? How long left we have to travel through this? I think you're the answer to that. Sentry certainly looks at you when you say that.

Oh, wait. I do. To answer my question, everybody hear you i hear you ask i mean you're a messenger like traveling distances and things like that you trained all four so um yeah you've traveled you you estimate well you've traveled about 17 miles um the swamp was is about 30 so so you've got sort of 13-ish miles to go. And it's taken you 19 hours. Like, you're going to have to probably take a longer rest. Like, this isn't going to be eight hours. Like, this is probably going to be sort of like 10, 11 hours

for everyone to be fully refreshed and ready to go. We're about two-thirds of the way through oh really uh just a little bit over 10 miles left to go think about it that way as much as i feel as much as i feel that this raft is helping us perhaps perhaps it might be better if we just wade through i know it will slow us down but at least we won't have to keep constantly worrying about the tides going up and finding a place to stall the raft while it's submerged. It's low tide right now. Consistently. Yeah, it is for now, but who knows what it will be when you're going to finish your rest.

She's suggesting we abandon it now and just wait the rest. When you start the journey again. I think Thalia's just like, I don't know. I just think that perhaps at least then we can just consistently to we can just consistently keep moving we don't have to worry about this high rise tide coming and going all right it'll slow us but i don't know do i have an idea of how long that would then take if we it would it so uh it basically reduces your movement speed by half so rather than going three miles every hour you'd go about one and a half miles every hour um but with the tides you

can do that no matter which whether it's high tide high tide or low tide you can just do that consistently it's gonna be another day because the other thing is as well like i mean you had previously you had like ala and century dragging raft, which still slows you down by half anyway. And they have to, you know, make checks. Now, I mean, yeah, Aayla and Sentry probably can do it without ever getting tired, or at least they can do it for a long time without getting tired. But there is that risk that like, what if they've got to drag it for four hours and they might get a level of exhaustion, you know? So this is their gamble, right? Do you keep going with the raft or do you want to ditch it as to ditch it as far as suggesting keep in mind thalia is just an

npc she might very well be wrong and that's not me giving you a hint as a as a dungeon master that's literally me role playing the npc what was that what was that kim just an npc yeah just mtc it's not even that important. Expendable. Why are we here again? Who cares? Let's go back to Rose. For Rose Meadow. I can do it. I can press the button. For Rose Meadow. Well, you raise a point, Thalia. It is good to be consistent.

It's going to take us longer, potentially, but we don't know. We can't judge these tides, so maybe it's best just cutting our losses and just wading through. I just don't know we can't judge these tides so maybe it's best just cutting our losses and just wading through I just don't know as well especially if we encounter I mean I don't know if we'll encounter more of those those creatures that we fought or maybe something else I don't know is it better for us to be clustered onto the raft kind of defending each other or or is it better

for us to be able to you know spread out and maneuver a bit better? I leave it to you all. I can walk on it. If we get attacked again, then we'll at least be on a platform. Yes, together, but on a platform that we can all move around on properly. That's true. I don't know. I mean, honestly, I defer this to Sentry and Aayla, the ones that will be dragging the damn raft. I'll drag the raft as long as it doesn't make me tired.

A second I feel like it's hindering us, then I'm dropping it. But we can have it for a bit. I can pull the raft, it's no problem. Let's drag it for the first leg, and if it's taking too long for the tide to come back, we make that decision down the road a bit. Let's make some progress with the raft now. Sounds good.

And hope for tide. Hope for tide. Hope for tide. You all settle in. It's better than being on the ground, but this is still an uncomfortable long rest. So you do manage to sleep through the night. It is uncomfortable, but you wake up.

Things like exhaustion levels, hit points will restore. And yeah, the tide, I will say, roll a D4 for me, Tom. Let's see if it's odds or evens to decide whether it starts high or starts low. Odds for low, evens for high come on lucky high tide wait what was the one low odds for low odds for low son of a uh so yeah when you wake up it's low tide it's all mud uh very little water uh the raft is just kind of like half sunk into the mud. You're going to need to drag it to start things off. Okay.

But for this first bit, I'm not going to have you guys roll the Pathfinder because I'm assuming Quill, you would probably go Pathfinder and we know you've got a very high bonus for stuff like that. Huge bonus. So I don't think there's any chance of you getting lost. However, I do want to say, see if you get an encounter today. Roll a D8 for me please

tom hazel oh good me again it's all on tom i love making five is that good oh no can you roll a d6 can you roll a d6 to rasks he's asking you to roll for how many monsters it is now. Great. So, okay. And then finally, just another d4 for me to see how long Low Tide lasts. I'm on 1. And then we'll do the narration.

All right. Could be worse. You travel for about 2 hours. Ayla, I'd say with Ayla's con and strength, you can drag the raft without getting tired for that amount of time. Like after this, you're probably going to have to start making checks, but you travel for that, Marks. After about two hours, the tide does rise

and you all get on the raft and you begin drifting and you probably go on for about another two, three hours at that pace. So let me just work out how far ahead that puts you. So it's going to be about three miles. So it's about 24 miles. At that point, you hear something in the distance, traveling through the things. It sounds like an army splashing through the swamp,

like hundreds of feet, like heavy, like heavy feet, like so much so that the water is like rippling. Like you're getting that sort of like there is there is ripples in the water coming like, you know, like something is heavily something big and heavy is disturbing the water. And you can feel this kind of like hide can we hide uh where can we hide uh the trees again um i think we struggle to get rosemary's like oh quill i mean last night i had to have century nailer help me climbing a trees isn't very i'm not very good at it she's you know her centaur body um all right prepare ourselves

this could be a random encounter kairi kind of is like i i could go and check i'm pretty small i could try and hide and see what it is be very very careful not out of eye shot i think at least try and find some cover everybody find cover try. I can make people invisible as well. Okay. Get up in the tree if you can. Kairi's going to fly off and try and be stealthy. If you can't get in a tree, invisibility.

Okay. I can cast Fly on people. Rose Meadow and Big Cat won't be able to... Well, Big Cat can get up a tree, actually. He's a cat. He can climb up that. Soemeadow is definitely going to need invisibility, Nova, probably the other one because she's not very good at climbing I can turn myself invisible

so I can make four people invisible and then plus me so Rosemeadow, Thalia, Sentry because Stompy you could also make Kairi invisible so that she can fly up ahead I'll make Kairi invisible so that she can fly up ahead. Yeah, Kairi. I'll make Kairi invisible as well. There you go.

And you see a kind of a very kind of gnomish looking fellow with a big, long, curly beard and a sort of red pointed hat. Looks like a little bit like a disheveled garden gnome. He kind of like drunkenly comes down the stairs. He turns around.

and we can kind of get things prepared. But we want to make this the best studio possible. We want to make High Rollers the best stream possible. And to do that, we're going to need some better equipment, some more stuff and decorations and things like that. So on Saturday, this coming Saturday, the 20th of November, we are doing a fundraising stream for the new studio. That's going to start at 12 p.m., and it's going to go all the way till 12 a.m.

So everybody across the globe, across the world can join us and see us doing some playing some video games, doing some like crazy one shot stuff, doing all sorts of like crafty chatty stuff as well. It's just going to be a whole day dedicated for us hanging out and hopefully raising some money which will go towards our amazing new studio. And there's a lot of exciting stuff to come from that and we do want to say a big thank you to our Patreon supporters because that Patreon has basically funded us getting the space, putting the deposit down,

paying the rent and all of that good stuff and the cost of getting it. And going forward, supporting us on Patreon is going to be the best way to see that studio space grow and develop and become a bigger thing. So we really hope
