welcome back everybody uh we just took a little break we are now back and as the party have made their way to the very edges of black stallion woods the air is heavy there is no sound except
the wind rustling through the ancient trees the feywild an ominous presence
fills the air but you have begun making your way into the deep woods you travel for an hour
finding nothing keeping your eyes peeled keeping yourselves ready for any sort of engagement but nothing comes
you do find along the way more bodies hung up you see them occasionally they're strung up in trees
like the ones that were littered near the edge of the forest and sometimes you just find them
on the ground discarded some of them have weapons still in their hands, some of them have
old rusted blades that have fallen by their sides, or shields that seem to have almost
been split in half. Not all of them are headless, however. Many of them seem to
have no head, completely their head completely separated from their body, no
longer anywhere to be found.
Others, though, seem to have been pierced a single arrow directly to the chest,
just impaled into the body, just littered the ground.
Some of them in different states.
Some of them appear to be nearly 100 years, some maybe only sort of a few decades at best.
nearly a hundred years some maybe only sort of a few decades at best but this unsettling feature does not seem to lure any spirits or signal for signal any immediate danger as you continue
traveling and you will now find yourselves have a map you You have yourselves all down. So if you want to set yourselves into your little marching order
of how you're traveling, please do.
Okay. Yeah.
I don't want to be too far away from all Sentry.
Yeah, I'm going to be up in there.
Oh, where's she gone? Where's she gone?
I'm here. I'm here. I'm trying to be close to Rosemeadow too.
Sentry makes herself toow too. Yeah.
Yeah, like the NPCs will go where you want them to go.
So if you say to like Rosemeadow, you should be in the back,
she will move to the back. If you tell Thalia to like move up and stand next to Nova, she will.
And then, yeah, same with like Big Cat and Kairi,
they will basically go where you tell them to go. I think Kairi is probably riding on rose mellows back most of the time um yeah can we bring
rose back behind like the line so she's right kind of at the back please group these guys up
so sort of like there yeah yeah yep big cat's kind of prowling the grass preferring the sort of thick
forest floor to this dirt path um big cat is just sort of off to the side
um nova will be kind of next to thalia all the time but i'll also be using my
um shroud of shadows ability which is where i can just turn invisible
um at will um without spending a spell slot.
So she'll just be popping in and out of invisibility,
kind of maybe scouting ahead, coming back.
Yeah, just popping around.
Yeah, just normal invisibility, right?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, sure.
Yeah, you see the dirt path kind of winds its way
in amongst a few trees.
You can see that some stuff has been cleared.
There are a few felled trees from place to place, but they're now very overgrown.
You can see strange purple plants growing up out of sections of the ground, but many,
many thick trees scattered all over the place, littering this wood.
That does make it that there are, whilst you can kind of see the road quite clearly,
there are kind of sections of this wood which are a little bit harder to see as the trees do block some line of sight as well,
making it sort of more difficult to see exactly what is around.
Can I do another divine sense, please?
You certainly can, yeah.
Now I need to change anything well let me have a read on something on divine sense cuz I'm
pretty sure I know how this works but I just want to check
yeah okay yeah century you open up the divine matrix, kind of trying to feel
out for any unnatural presences around you. You can't sense any.
Okay. What did he read? What did he read?
Just exactly what kind of creature is coming our way.
I'm going to send out some dancing lights just to kind of like look around the trees,
see if there's any shadows that get cast from figures that could be standing behind trees.
Creatures and things like that?
Yeah, sure.
Just in our vicinity.
Yeah, because it's still daylight.
There's not really like darkness per se,
but the tree canopy does kind of cast everything
into a very dim light.
But the, yeah, the dancing lights kind of illuminate the trees
and in some ways, Lucius, it kind of makes it worse
as the light from above
and now the light from the bright dancing lights
causes like these stretching
warped shadows to kind of fill
and the light as it moves through
the branches it almost looks like a kind of
ghostly figure itself kind of
like passing through
and you also you know you guys have
been in the Feywild long enough like
things around you like your own shadows
you can swear that
they're sort of twitching and moving on their
own uh the ground
when you step down like worms
seem to like wriggle to the surface
and like bugs skitter away
from you as you step on like logs
uh sort of like this
even like a minor sense of fear
manifested uh in these
sort of unnatural ways
uh but you don't see anything, and the path continues
onwards. Yeah, I snuff out the
dancing lights with like, I just made everything
worse. So much worse.
Never again.
I kind of, I want to
try something, but I'm going to need
you guys to help me
a little bit. I wonder, I kind
of, I want to cast mislead
and then send my double out
to make a lot of noise somewhere else
away from us, like far away from us
and see if I can draw out whatever this
creature is, so I can at least
see what it is.
Alright. Quill should keep an eye on it.
Well, I'll be able to see through
its eyes, so I can report back.
Okay. How do you want us to help um well my my actual body here will well let's see oh it'll
be invisible I'll be invisible but I'll be a bit vulnerable so maybe if someone
just I know holds my hand or something like that I'm holding then I'm holding
the nerds hand so I can at least drag her along.
It's very warm.
We can try that.
Just remember, the Nova that runs forward is not Nova.
We don't chase after.
Okay, and I'll try and see.
But yeah, I'll be able to come back and all that.
But obviously if something happens here, just make, I don't know, I'll be back.
It's fine.
It's good.
Yeah, let's do that.
I'm going to do that. And other you forward.
Sure.
There should be a little illusory Nova.
Okay, cool.
So this spell lasts for up to an hour.
And my real self will go invisible.
And I can use my action to move double up to my speed, twice my speed,
gesture, speak, behave in a way i choose
and i can see through its eyes and hear through its ears um so what i kind of want to do is just
send it out um stealthily at first and then when it's kind of a good distance from us i want it to
kind of just act like a an idiot just bumbling around quite noisy quite like you know just just see if i can draw out anything um
so yeah i guess yeah i don't know how far forward you want me to go because it can go
for up to an hour so i mean yeah just it continues walking along the road nothing happens um and if i
kind of delve into the woods a little bit, like diverge off the path,
kind of stomping around, making lots of noise.
I see nothing.
No? Okay.
Nothing, absolutely nothing.
Well, I'll keep doing that for an hour.
Yeah.
Or unless, you know, if the party want me to come back,
like if they get a bit impatient or anything. I mean, keep it moving forward, but instead of sat here for an hour, I think we should be prepared that whatever is out there can see through this.
So we may need some backup plans. I mean, that thing's making a lot of noise.
Yeah, but you guys watch this illusory Nova
sort of like walk 60 feet and then sort of get 60 feet in front of you
and then starts noisily walking and sort of like stomping on twigs
and humming and speaking and all that kind of stuff, babbling.
It just continues walking down the path
and you're
going to lose sight of it if you don't keep up with it uh you're gonna you know it's gonna get
it's gonna the path's gonna turn and then you're gonna lose it behind trees if you don't
follow after the illusion illusion nova can still control it and see through it but
the rest of you will soon lose sight yeah i can use a bonus action to jump between the two as
well and kind of come back and then pop in check check what you guys want to do, pop out again, and then, like, yeah.
Well, I would say this, like, how long are you guys going to wait?
Because, yeah, like, let's say...
Well, I don't think we are waiting.
We're sort of not following this directly behind it,
but, like, maintaining a safe distance.
Keep the distance, yeah.
But follow a little bit.
So if you guys move yourselves up.
If you can just move yourselves 30 or 60 feet at a time,
because I'm assuming you'll dash.
Well, I'm assuming actually you'd probably just move at 30 feet.
You just move 30 feet.
Yeah, we're just walking.
Yeah, you're just walking.
So you just kind of keep slow pace.
You kind of give it a few moments.
Let the illusion get ahead.
Wait a moment.
Move up.
Move everyone else up.
Is there any, like, completely irregular noises or anything to... There is...
This is hauntingly silent.
It is literally your own voices, your own breathing, your own
footsteps, and then
nothing.
Just eerie, endless
silence.
I'm going to cast
Armor of Agathys on myself.
And I don't know if I have
the ability to control its aesthetics,
but if I can
reinforce the neck with ice
and like spikes coming out of it.
Absolutely you can.
I'll do that.
That's to last an hour, so.
I'm just preparing myself.
When Lucius does this, like Lucius cast the spell,
you see him perform the arcane gestures speak the magic words and this armour begins
to crystallise
that's when you hear the first noise
and then you hear the second
the first
it's like it's coming from ahead of you
and in a flash
because they seem to appear
out of nothing
they would be moving
and then they would go this way They seem to appear out of nothing. They would be out. They would be moving
And then they would go this way
Actually, no ailer doesn't wear armor. So this one would probably go this way
while this one gallops up
Come to about here and probably come to about here actually
um
they seem to almost appear out of nothing
as if they phase out
of another plane of existence
as two
riders galloping
on steeds with
manes of green flame
these black
armored riders like
Nazgul like hoods and you can just see these skulls
in the hoods with green flames for eyes one of them wields a uh like a long blade like an elegant
medieval long sword and it's right as it appears right in front of Aayla and Quill
like it literally phases out
of nothing in mid sort of gallop
bringing its sword down you see
it behind you
you hear more hoofsteps as
another rider seems to phase
out of existence but this one instead
is pulling an elegant great bow
back aiming it as
it does
this is a surprise round as they were both is pulling an elegant great bow back, aiming it as it does.
This is a surprise round as they were both in the ethereal plane and none of you have the ability to see or detect into the ethereal plane,
but it is going to be initiative for everybody.
They are going to get an action as they appear first.
Oh, my God.
So they obviously didn't teleport in from somewhere else.
They literally just...
They were following you in the ethereal plane,
and then as soon as they see Lucius cast this spell
to defend himself and prepare for combat,
they basically galloped forward,
and then just before they connect with their attacks,
they appear out of the ethereal plane.
It's nice that they waited for my armor, Vagathus.
Yeah.
Well, they were waiting to kind of like
see what was going on
and things like the illusion,
unfortunately, they were not fooled by
for whatever reason.
Lucius, initiative.
I have a 14.
14.
Kilik, add Kalah.
I had a six.
Six. A had 6. 6.
Ayla.
24.
24. Unfortunately, not gonna beat
the surprise, but
probably gonna be going first afterwards.
Century. 16.
16.
Nova Vida.
21.
21. Okay okay I will manual entry in Johnny give me
thalia's initiative?
I just need a d20 plus 3.
Bam.
16.
What we get? 16 with a plus 3? Nice.
Yep.
Okay, well the riders unfortunately do get their surprise round.
Their mounts will also get their actions as well.
So this is going to be the Hunter Rider.
This is going to be the Revenant Rider first
with the sword attack.
Swinging past, it's going to make one attack against Quill
and one attack against Aleph as it kind of gallops.
And you can see this is mid-strike.
The mount is going to continue running as it does so.
Can I protect Quill, please?
Okay, so you're going to use your reaction to protect Quill.
All right, well, let's do that one first then.
So the first attack against Quill is probably going to miss.
Yep, so an 11 to hit Quill.
Amazing. Thank you. So, oh, oh sorry that didn't go to everyone i've
not adjusted my um thing to go to everybody i hate how it doesn't default to everyone as the gm
bit of feedback for dindy beyond uh cool so century kind of leans forward and brings up her
starbreaker and she's to deflect this sword away because it was going for that head as it rides past Quill.
And then it turns the steed at the last minute
and then with a backswing, it goes down for Aayla.
Trying to do the same thing.
No, 11 to hit.
It's getting close.
But yeah, so Aayla, you mentioned like throw yourself to the side
as these two attacks go past.
Its mount on its turn would have taken disengage as its action
and then used its move, and it's going to continue its movement past you guys.
I'm also going to bring it out onto the token load.
If it's disengaged, do we not get a hit on the rider?
You don't, no, unfortunately.
It's just as it's going to go past.
So it's going to be 5, 10, 15.
It's just going to run straight around, kind of turning.
But it does, it probably gets to about here, actually.
And then it's going to turn around.
So the mount kind of brings it to bear.
So that is going to be the rider with the sword.
And then the hunter with the bow is going to take a shot at nova and lucius um
any reactions i well i'm i don't know if i would be invisible at this point like because i i just
believe it to you because obviously i've been it doesn't matter the invisibility doesn't matter i
will tell you now this thing has true sight so the illusion didn't fool it and it can see invisible creatures. So it's ghostly flame, locked eyes with you.
Yeah. I'd love the idea that I'm invisible and I'm like, oh, this will be all right.
And then as I see the rider like lock eyes, I'm like, oh no.
Absolutely, you can do that.
But this thing looks into your soul, Nova, and it brings the bow up and... So against Nova.
It finds me very
wanting. Two twos and a three
so far.
Twelve to hit, Nova.
No.
Lucius.
26 to hit.
There it is.
It's normal attacks aren't the ones
you need to worry about.
Which one is this one?
This is the bow.
This is the bow.
Bugger.
Yeah, so unfortunately,
Armored Vagasist isn't going to do any damage.
That's going to be six points of piercing damage
and nine points of necrotic damage.
As the arrow, it's going for your chest,
like the center of your chest, Lucius,
but the armor manages to deflect it
and it does break off some of the ice armor but it's perfectly exploded my level three armor of
agathys oh really it just takes 15 points of damage it completely negates it but that's no
hit point damage at least no um but yeah but the the thing is is lucius you watch this arrow and
it is going for your heart like that arrow was aimed directly at your heart in the same way that the swordsman is going for the heads.
And then this one is also going to continue riding
for a brief moment.
Let's see if it's about there.
It looks like it's making for a gap in the trees.
That is going to be their surprise round,
unfortunately completely wasted.
And we jump to Ayla.
completely wasted. And we jump to Ayla.
I will... Sorry, my internet's being a little bit spotty, so apologies if I drop.
That's okay.
But I'm going to Rage, and I'm going to take a sprint over to this one.
And...
Yes, try and take a couple of hits at the rider himself, please. Okay, yep. This is the hunter rider.
That's 28 to hit. 28 will hit, yes. That hits. 20 points of damage on the hammer and oh six lightning damage on the first strike
okay 20 points of damage and six lightning the hammer connects and you hear the crack
of lightning and thunder
uh 18 plus 14 to hit
uh that will hit.
16 points of damage from the hammer for lightning and then a dex save.
Staring throw for a 18.
I believe that passes.
So half damage.
17 lightning damage halved.
So half that would be eight lightning damage.
Two heavy blows thud into the rider,
and you're targeting the rider, not the mount there,
because you said the rider.
Rider specifically.
Yeah, so even though the mount is kind of rearing up
and it's trying to deflect,
the two hammer blows smack into the rider,
and you feel this solid,
even though it appeared out of thin air,
now it has this unnatural strength as the blows smash into it,
still taking damage.
It actually took even less lightning damage, by the way.
It actually only took four lightning damage.
As you feel, some of the lightning is partially absorbed.
I've got to do the other attacks as well. I'll just do another four.
The lightning damage is partially absorbed, I forgot to do the other attacks as well. I'll just do another four. The lightning damage is partially absorbed,
but the two heavy blows from the hammer
definitely leave its mark on this creature
as it tries to kind of pull itself back
out of the blast of lightning.
Anything else on your turn, Ayla?
That's all I can do.
Okay, at the end of your turn,
the hunter rider is gonna use one of its legendary actions
to use frightful presence. All creatures within 30 feet, which I think is just gonna one of its legendary actions to use frightful
presence.
All creatures within 30 feet, which I think is just gonna be you at the moment, Ayla,
must make a wisdom saving throw.
As it leans down.
As it leans down and looks into your eyes.
Eight.
I'm up.
I'm out here.
Be afraid.
And you just feel this fear grip your heart
and your hands begin trembling as you are frightened by it.
The hunter rider in the back is going to...
I've got too many of these things going on.
Is going to also use their legendary action to use head hunt.
The rider moves up to its speed or its mounts without provoking opportunity
attacks, makes one sword attack with advantage against a creature.
And this one is going to actually make it against sentry.
It's going to run past everybody.
And this one's going to make it at sentry.
This one's gonna make it at sentry.
As it gallops along the road and swings its hair sword down with advantage.
Let's go.
17 is my highest.
That doesn't hit.
It clangs off of your armor sentry,
like almost bouncing off the armored sort of like rivets
and plates around your neck.
But you feel this like almost like an unnatural chill along the blade as it does so.
Oh, cool.
All right.
That was its legendary action.
That was all three of its legendary actions.
Nova Vija.
With the rider on top of a horse, how tall are they?
Like, are they over 10 feet?
It's what, like, yeah, it's probably, you know, they're going to be in 10 feet.
They're not over 10 feet, I don't think.
The horse isn't 10 feet tall.
It's like, you know, what, five, six feet tall, and then the rider's sitting on it.
I don't know how big horses are.
I know nothing about horses, so.
thing about horses say i want to move up to the rider the the one that just charged at century the sword rider the sword rider um and uh i basically want to be very obvious on the path and I want to hold my action that when it charges back I
want to cast arcane gate right at the last second so that the idea is and I'm
gonna put the second portal 500 foot away distance so that it basically
charges through the portal instead and ends up 500 foot away do you have to see where the other portal is like the out portal
so uh i mean it's still going to be 500 foot away but it just means it'll be like on the road
basically two points on the ground that you can see one within 10 foot of you and one within 500
foot of you so as far as i can see in the distance yeah but it'll just be on the road you can't like
put it off to the side because the trees are blocking line of sight.
But if you look down the road, like the way you came probably, you were like, that's like,
I can see 500 feet down the road from where we came.
I can put it out there.
Yeah.
Sure.
Cool.
It's a cool plan.
I'll tell everyone.
I'll say to everyone, no one get in front of me.
Like when this charges again, no one have it focus on me.
And then, yeah.
That's what I'm gonna do.
I remember it's nightmares, the nightmare attacks.
Okay, cool.
Speaking of horses,
I'm gonna actually remember them this time.
Ayla, one of the horses is gonna try
and just kind of hit you with these green flaming hooves.
It's probably gonna, 24 to hit.
That's gonna going to burn. 24 to hit. That's going to be a hit.
And then you're going to take 14 bludgeoning
damage, so half that to 7
if you're raging. And then
2d6 fire damage for another 6
fire damage.
Don't have any of those out yet.
Big cat. Big cat's turn.
Who wants to control Big Cat?
Just decide where
he moves and who he attacks, and then I'll do the rest.
I can't remember
who had control of him last time.
Well, there you go, Tom. Sounds like you volunteered.
It's me now. Oh, that's it.
He's dead.
He
is currently, what,
smart enough to not go for the Sword Rider, knowing that Nova just said that, so I think he'll help Aayla with the Bow Horseman.
In that case.
Cool.
He has plus 5 to his attack, and he'll do a bite attack because it's his most powerful.
Nice. and he'll do a bite attack because it's his most powerful.
Nice.
Do it.
Kill him, big cat.
Sick him.
Sick him. Roll a d20 for me.
No.
It's dead.
Plus five.
Boom.
17.
Maybe not.
17 is just enough, actually.
Oh, just enough.
Point attack.
That is a 1d10 of piercing damage.
1d10 plus 3.
5 damage.
5 points of damage.
Yeah, he leaps up to the rider, tries to bite onto him.
Did he move 20 feet in a straight line towards? Damage. He leaps up to the rider, tries to bite onto him.
Did he move 20 feet in a straight line towards?
It was less than that, wasn't it?
I think it was less than that.
Let me check.
No, it was about 20 feet, actually.
He actually will get the pounce as well.
In that case, yeah.
It needs to take a DC 13.
It's not great, but strength saving throw.
I might roll bad.
I didn't. 23. Fair enough. Well, but strength saving throw. I might roll bad. I didn't. 23.
Fair enough. Well, the bite still hits.
Nice. So there you go.
Almost knocked him down. Pounced right
on top of him. That would have been amazing.
Perfect. At the end
of Big Cat's Go, the bow hunter
is just going to use their last
legendary action just before their turn
again to just make one ranged attack. It's going to use their last legendary action just before their turn again to just make one ranged attack.
It's going to have disadvantage
because Aayla is right next to it,
but it is going to try and shoot it at Nova Vija,
who's kind of like moved out
and is like holding her arms out
and clearly casting a spell.
It's a good bloody job.
I've got disadvantage.
That is 25 with the disadvantage.
Oh, almost a crit, though.
That was nearly a crit.
25.
Uh, this is just a normal attack.
Yeah, don't hit me.
Uh, for 12 points of piercing damage
and seven necrotic damage.
Uh, and that was its legendary action
just before it takes its turn.
It's then going to the mount will disengage and it is going to basically gallop around
getting away from people as much as possible.
In fact, it will go.
25.
25 and then the mount yeah it can't it can't dash so it will
just kind of basically go up here ah far away it is far away but it can still
shoot it just has you're gonna get some cover against its to AC but it kind of
fires through the woods and it's gonna going to take two shots, one at
Sentry and one at Lucius.
Lucius,
attack against you here.
13, so four to hit.
Again,
the armor of Agathys
helping defend, and then against Sentry,
that is probably still going to hit. 27.
And I'll hit. 27. 4.
6 points of
piercing but 11
points of necrotic.
And it gets all of its legendary actions back.
Sentry.
Alrighty.
I would like to
go bigness please and
cast enlarge.
And then I'd like to bonus action call forth Starbreaker.
Starbreaker to full form.
Lantz above your head.
The green energy swirls around it.
Starbreaker.
Starbreaker, I'm just gonna take it.
Power up turn, basically.
Yeah.
That's it.
Power move.
Yeah.
I'm just gonna take a defensive position there for now.
Okay, perfect.
That nightmare doesn't have anyone to immediately attack, so we go to Lucius.
No, sorry, at the end of Sentry's Go, the bow rider is going to use all three of its legendary actions to do its heartbreaker
Move and it is gonna get a little speed
Yeah, it's gonna move
50 feet of speed
Still gonna arrange it's just gonna move
Still going to be in range. It's just going to move.
Actually, no, it will just do a normal attack, actually.
It won't do its Heartbreaker.
It'll just do a normal attack targeting Lucius.
Sorry, there's a lot of things going on.
Is that with all three Legendaries?
No, this is just a normal one single Legendary action.
12 to hit.
There's a miss.
So that misses Lucius. Now it's your turn 12 to hit is a miss. So that misses.
Lucius, now it's your turn.
I can't believe how bad they are rolling.
How much I'm being shot at.
I'm going to... It's like all of like you guys,
like I know I have really good luck some days
and then I have days like this
where it's like two monsters that if I roll high,
they are serious shit.
Like, yeah.
I'm going to back up so that I'm in line behind Nova.
And from this rider's point of view, behind a tree.
And I'm going to quicken a spell with my sorcery points, two points.
Cast Mirror Image on myself,
and much like the Battle Royale, do the dodge action.
Yep.
So you take the dodge action and then you Mirror Image.
All good.
Sounds good.
Defensive round to establish myself.
Yeah, basically the same thing as the others.
So I think that this is the point where the bow archer
is going to use their legendary action to take another shot this time at nova um meanwhile the
sword rider okay yep so you're going to give disadvantage on the attack and then the sword
rider gallops forward with their legendary action with headhunt which is all three of their legendary
actions but we know that nova's got a plan for that.
So Archer takes a shot.
Now, if the Archer hits,
it might cause a concentration check
because when you're holding a spell,
it counts as concentrating on a spell.
But we'll see what happens.
It does have disadvantage.
13 is currently...
Oh, no, with a 5, 14.
That's going to be a miss, I'm assuming.
Miss, yeah.
Century Shield blocks one of the arrows
as you're focusing on the spell, Nova.
So this other arrow, and then, yeah,
this rider does exactly that.
I mean, it's smart, but it doesn't know what you can do.
It charges for you in a line,
ready to swing down and, like, cut your head off.
And then at the last minute, you throw up this gate,
and this thing just vanishes 500 feet to the south.
Nice.
That's a really smart move.
Really cool move. I like that one.
That was great.
I mean, they're out for like...
That's stinking in portals.
They're out for like a minute now, right?
The speed they can travel, they're...
They can move 100 feet around.
Oh, they can dash.
Five rounds.
They can dash five feet around. Oh, they can dash. They can dash five rounds out.
Yeah.
But yeah, that was at the end.
That takes a long time.
Quill.
Well, I've got, just like everyone else,
I have a really exciting opening turn.
Gonna bust this combat wide open.
Beacon of Hope, end my turn.
Right. Okay, love it.
I love it.
So everyone has advantage on wisdom saves now.
Nice.
Okay, nice.
Including Ayla, who will have to make one at the end
of her turn in a moment.
At the end of your turn, the archer's just going to use
its final legendary action to try
one more time to shoot an arrow.
Probably at you, Quill, actually,
because it's just seen you cast this big sort of glowing spell.
Also just seen Nova.
Yeah, it doesn't care about that
because its friend can come back.
You've done something, it doesn't know what it does.
28 to hit, 19.
So fucking close.
Okay.
Yeah, I'll take it.
Yeah, sure.
I like how you're saying that like you have a choice.
No, I was thinking of portenting something at some point,
but I'll take that one.
16 damage total and a concentration check.
Quite a low concentration, right?
DC 10. Yeah, DC 10.
Got it.
Nice. Keep that. That is it out Ba-ba-booey. Nice.
Keep that.
That is it out of Legendary Actions until its turn.
Thalia actually has a go.
Um, so Thalia is going to,
I want her to do multi-attack.
So one arcane pistol attack
and one arcane shot
at the remaining
horse boy.
So that is...
So before you make the arcane, the normal attack,
because she does have a thing where 50% chance
her magitek doesn't work on Lunaria.
So I'm going to roll a d100.
If it's 49 or lower,
basically, it doesn't work.
Okay, so this shot works fine.
Fine as the first one.
Almost didn't.
So I believe that is a 10 plus 6.
So 16 to hit.
Not enough.
The rider just manages to kind of pull itself to the side of his saddle
as the shot blasts the trees behind it.
And then to make the arcane shot.
To make the arcane shot, is it just...
So one creature within 60 feet that she can see must make a dex save DC 15?
Yep, so I need to roll a 50%.
I need to roll the 50% failure chance, and if it doesn't, then it's just a saving throw.
So same thing, this one unfortunately is a 35.
So this time as she goes to pull it out,
there's just like sparks come out of the gun.
She's like, ah, Lunarius messing with it
and she's like, you know, changing the cartridges and things like that.
But unfortunately, the Magitek fluctuations
that she mentioned take case.
After that, can I have her move into the woodland um so just trying
to just kind of tuck herself but also trying to encourage rose meadow and kairi um to come with
her so they go behind her um but yeah if she can move away from the bowman um into the woods um
just to get some cover so sort of like in this direction? Yeah, yeah.
And she'll take up a defensive stance in front of them.
Okay, nice.
Okay, so I'll move them like this.
Cool, yeah, so they get off the road.
Get off the road!
Speaking of that, you all kind of look behind you
and you do feel this like ominous wind
kind of blow up the leaves
and 500 feet on the road
where you just came from,
you just see this black rider
with this flaming green skull
just charging 100 feet in your direction.
We go back up to the top of round, Ayla.
So I can't move closer to this thing.
Not whilst you are frightened, no.
Sadly not.
So I'm gonna shoot it instead.
Okay, so you have disadvantage but you can still shoot at it.
Okay, so I've got a plus ten.
Ten total? So 16 is my highest. 16 is not enough. It bounces off like the...
It's wearing like a dark leather coat.
And the arrow...
Nope. I miss completely both times.
Okay. I mean, disadvantage is gonna cause you to miss.
You do. Beacon of Hope is up.
The DC is... I will tell you, 15.
Nope.
Okay, so you still feel this like supernatural fear
kind of taking over.
Quill and the others,
you can all see like Ayla's like trembling hands
as she's trying to fire this bow,
unable to take a step towards it.
Nova Vija.
Fair enough.
So I'm still
going to keep seeing that the rider is
actually riding back towards us and not
you know, thinking about things.
Going through
the portal again? Yeah.
Yeah.
It wouldn't know what the portal does.
Yeah, you never know when you need a cheeky little portal.
I'm going to
cast
because this doesn't have a concentration on it but the cheeky little portal um I'm gonna cast
Because this doesn't have a concentration on it, but the arcane gate does I'm gonna cast and synaptic static next to the remaining
horseboy So can you make me an intelligence saving throw DC 18, please?
Doesn't send through DC 18. I certainly can
It's nice 15 failure. Oh
So you will take 26 psychic damage.
Mm-hmm.
Psychic damage.
And you have muddled thoughts for a minute.
You don't really hear a scream because it doesn't have a mouth.
It just has this flaming green skull.
But what you do hear is the echo of a scream reverberate through the air,
and it kind of reaches into your mind,
and you feel this horrible screeching rustle through the trees.
But yeah, definitely seems to be very unhappy about that.
Yeah, I'm in danger.
And I'm going to end myself 30 foot into the
tree line so 5 10 15 20 30 why you do that I'm gonna move these guys gallop
gallop gallop gallop gallop I'm gonna move the nightmare is just gonna move this one
Probably a horse chase me
Just gonna take the dash action. It's gonna come to about
Yeah, I think Yep
There it is
Now should have stayed behind the portal
I should have stayed behind the portal.
I should have stayed behind the portal to see if I could get a second one.
So you watch, Ayla and Big Cat
watch as the rider just kind of curves
through the woods, like galloping on this incredibly
fast, ethereal, like ghostly
steed, and then it appears
at the front of the road again,
drawing back its bow, but Big Cat does have a turn
before it goes.
Nice. I think if it can...
So, moving through, it can move through the woods,
but it's, uh, it's like four feet for one movement
to go through the thick woods,
so any of the trees is, uh, like, super difficult terrain.
Uh, okay. I mean, it's way out of range of this now,
so, um, I think it would, yeah,
try and sort of stalk it from behind a little bit,
maybe ending up somewhere like around this bit.
It can't quite catch up,
so it will just sort of be ready to pounce on this thing
if it does stop at any point.
Does Big Cat want to dash?
Because Big Cat could dash and get to like here-ish.
But then that would be ended then.
I think more behind the tree if possible.
Oh, just sort of like hiding.
Oh yeah.
Sure.
Skull King, Skull King.
Yeah, crawling through the grasses.
The archer will take a shot, two shots at probably Nova Vida, I think here.
Sentry's sort of behind the portal.
Quill's behind the portal in the tree line.
Lucius is behind Sentry in the portal.
Ayla's in the trees.
Yeah, Nova's really the only target here.
So it's going to fire its bow twice at Nova.
Can you roll a d6 for each one and subtract that from your attack roll as well,
just in case?
I will.
So 23 minus 4 is 19.
My AC is 19.
So that's still a hit unfortunately.
And then the second attack, I'll just roll both.
That's going to miss because with the
yeah, it's lower so it's going to miss.
First one hits though
and that's going to be
9 points of piercing, 12 points of necrotic so 21 points of damage total. and that's going to be do do do do
uh nine points of piercing 12 points of necrotic so 21 points of damage total and arcane gates concentration you said yep so i'll roll that now dc10 um
so my first i've got advantage on this uh
which is good because the first oh wait no i just rolled i rolled a uh
wait it's just a four counts, it is just a d20.
Yeah, it's just a d20, so you can just add your con modifier to that.
So seven on the first one.
Yeah, but you have advantage.
15, 16, 17, 18 on the second one.
That's fine.
With the advantage, you pass.
Thanks to Warcaster.
Century.
What direction was the rider coming from again? Was it the south?
The one that got teleported, yeah, from
the way you came, so the south road
basically. South road, cool.
Alright. Can I...
It's about 400 feet away at this point.
Can I cast plant growth
on the area behind us?
Oh yeah, you absolutely can.
So sort of like cutting off this area here, behind us. Oh, yeah, you absolutely can. So sort of like cutting off like this area here,
like behind us.
Yeah, yeah, it's great.
Nice.
It's a great one.
Can I do that, please?
Yeah, I mean, yeah, you've drawn that.
We'll just remember that this whole...
That little bean shape.
Yeah.
One grace is like 100 feet or something stupid like that, isn't it?
Yeah, it's fucking crazy.
I was going to use that to remember that sphere was there,
but actually that green line works really well on the map.
So yeah, we see the entire road behind Sentry
just becomes completely overgrown with plants and things like that.
Completely engulfs it.
Cool. Anything else, Sentry?
and things like that completely engulfs it.
Cool. Anything else, Sentry?
I'd like to move up sort of behind this tree line, like here.
Okay.
Just in front of Ayla.
Okay, sure.
At the end of your go, Sentry,
the rider with the bow is going to use all three of its legendary actions to use heartbreaker and it rides about 50 feet this way
does it make an attack roll at this point it does i'll make it roll a four with advantage
so actually yeah because the four just replaces both rolls that's his roll that's his attack roll
you watch as it turns around you watch it almost bends backwards on its horse
aiming this bow directly at
Nova and Quill, you see like a flash and you see this arrow pierce Nova's chest and into
her heart and Nova dies. And you just yell, Nova drop now! And you just like, Nova, you
like, oh, and you drop at Quill's command and this arrow into the tree behind you.
I didn't even want to see what this move you. It's like prophetic vision.
I didn't even want to see what this move did.
It just looked awful.
I mean, you, this arrow hit her and Nova died.
That's what you saw.
Oh my God.
Okey dokey.
Christ.
My next water is not so good.
The rider behind you hear hoofs like,
that rider's just riding.
Lucius.
Yes.
300 feet.
I'm going to move off to the side,
blocking the line of sight again.
Up to here.
There.
There.
There.
Oh, wait.
I should probably see what I'm about to do I'm gonna cast slow on
the rider 40-foot cube I'm just gonna use the tail end of that cube to hit
them yeah it is a wisdom saving throw please 18 well fails 14 it's slowed so
its speed is my heart minus 2 to AC. I have to make two saving throws because I have to technically roll for the Nightmare as well.
I don't think the Nightmare can make it. No, it didn't.
So they're both slowed because the mount's movement and then the rider has its own movement as well.
So movement is halved. Minus two AC can only make one attack. Can't take reactions.
No reactions. Yeah.
Legendary reactions are
are separate though but it hasn't got any more of those to use yet anyway so but yeah we watch
like the rider's movements like slow down now i'm i'm showing sure quill uh in that case, I will do... How far away am I from this bastard?
Quite a ways, I think.
God, yes, super far away.
I will not do a now.
I will do my Aura of Vitality as an action,
and as a bonus action,
I don't think Aayla's actually taken any hits,
but I'll heal Aayla to get rid of this fear
yes because you can
spellbreaker it sure
well you will heal 12 in that case
so you heal 12 and you feel that
fear because I
you know technically spellbreaker is like
a spell that's on the creature and like
these things aren't spells but I hate that
it is very clearly a magical
fear and I think spellbreaker should break it there might be some stuff like the creature and like these things aren't spells but i hate that it is very clearly a magical fear
and i think spell breakers should break it there might be some stuff like natural elements but this
is very much a spooky magical fear that magical fear breaks off of you ayla and you feel yourself
like ah like released from this uh this grip this icy grip over your body
uh i really hate phrasing on that ability
it's a bit weird yeah
like spells like if
this thing does a very clearly magical thing
but it's not specifically a spell it doesn't
count like it's very weird
and yeah
I'll get closer to this tree so I'm out of its
eyeline and now
it's up to Ayla to run forward instead of me
sure
Thalia's go And now it's up to Ayla to run forward instead of me. Sure.
Thalia's go.
So, sorry, I forgot to check if she's within range.
She might be.
I think it's like 120, I think. I think so.
Just about.
If she kind of goes to the other side of the tree line,
so east-ish,
would she be within
range to kind of...
Like here?
Yeah, she's about 60 feet.
No, not all the way up next to me.
No, no, no. God, no.
No.
She's not going to be able
to get that far.
Well, I guess if she uses her energy crossbow instead, I'll use that instead. Um, no. She's not going to be able to get that far from where she is.
If she uses her energy crossbow instead, I'll use that instead.
So is it just one attack with the energy crossbow?
It's just one attack and it still has the 50% chance of failure
because it is a magitek crossbow.
Okay, well, if you could roll the failure rate for me.
93, so it does actually pop off.
It does work.
It does? Okay. And she gets the one shot. the failure rate for myth 93 so it does actually pop off it does work it does
and she is the one shot mm-hmm so that is a six plus eight I believe yes six
plus 18 so sadly not enough 14 does not know the rider again actually it's minus
two is 15 AC currently cuz the slow so it just barely even with its movement
slowed by Lucius,
the energy bolt kind of like sizzles past,
clipping the skull, but not enough to cause a direct hit.
Cool.
And then if she just, yeah, tucks back in again,
just, yeah, so she's not...
Yeah, that's fine.
Reverend Rider that was teleported 500 feet away
continues his journey.
He's still 300 feet away.
Ayla, you are now out of fear,
but no sign of the enemy.
Ran off into the woods.
I can't see it.
I think you have a vague idea,
because if you can see it on the map,
then you can see it,
but you have a vague idea
where your friends are shooting and stuff like that.
It's just more that you were fighting it
and then it ran through the tree line.
It's no longer directly near you. I can see it on the map however i still i still can't get to it it's way too far away from me yeah so um trying to work out the best
course of action that's fine nova you'll be up after this so I just how far am I from him here
how far am I away I can't find the
uh let me check you are currently 65
feet bugger I still can't do anything Let me check. You are currently 65 feet.
Bugger. I still can't do anything.
It's all right. Set yourself up for next turn.
You could always dash, and then that way you'd be in better range for next turn.
Or you could take the dodge action if you're afraid of, like,
you know, give any attacks against you disadvantage.
Still stuff you can do.
advantage still stuff you can do can I go actually here she'd ash give myself some cover a dash and I give myself some cover
over here but at least I'm closer that's it just keep in mind any moving into these like
trees on the map,
if you move into the thick tree line, it's basically difficult terrain.
It's super difficult terrain.
So it's like four movements.
It's like four squares of movement for one.
Sorry, two squares of movement per one square.
And then Nova.
Okay, cool.
and then Nova okay cool I going to hmm do I want to do another little snap tic static why why not why not I'm gonna the d6 won't stack just so you know it
won't have like yeah no no no I know that yeah actually no I'm gonna save I'm gonna the d6 won't stack just so you know it won't have like two
I know that
I'm gonna save my spell slot
for now and do a classic
triple barrage of
Eldritch Blast and I'm gonna
gun and run and basically while
I'm shooting I'm gonna be running so I'm
back behind the portal
so I'm just hiding behind the portal again
and yeah so the first roll is I'm back behind the portal. So I'm just hiding behind the portal again.
And yeah, so the first roll is... 14.
14 is not enough.
Even with the slow, it's just a miss.
17 for the second hit.
That will hit, yep.
What is this roll?
Six points of force damage.
Six points of damage.
Hey, sometimes you don't roll well.
I certainly know that.
Sometimes.
Being every time.
Yeah.
The Eldritch Blast just kind of go wide.
Each one a miss.
Unfortunately, as this thing is also,
keep in mind that this rider is also moving.
Yeah, you're panicking, like, blasting away,
unable to land a blow.
Anything else, Nova, on your turn?
That's me.
I'm just going to carol behind this portal a little bit.
Sure.
Being on a horse, this guy rides over here.
Getting away from the scary hammer lady.
Oh, very good point. Thank you, Chris Trott.
Nope, that is true. I forgot about the slow.
I think you'll find.
Yeah, no, it's a very valid point.
Has the rider made a save as well to see if he shrugs off being befuddled?
I haven't.
I need to do that for slow as well.
Intelligent saving throw at the end of your turn.
All right, Nightmare is still slowed.
It's technically not the Hunter's Go yet.
This is the Nightmare moving.
Oh, okay.
What a good little boy.
But yeah, Big Cat has a turn.
Well, now that he... I can't actually see...
The rider is... Oh, he's up there.
I think Big Cat can do a nice, big, juicy pounce on this nerd.
Moving 20 feet in a line to pounce on the rider.
It makes a DC 13 strength save.
You have to hit first.
Well, that's true.
In that case, yep, he'll claw,
which it turns out is the only thing that does the pounce move,
not the bite.
Oh, okay.
That's fine.
So with a claw, it's a...
It's a 14 to hit.
With the slow, it could have been a hit,
but yeah, Big Cat swipes,
and just the pounce kind of throws him off balance.
The rider expertly, even with the magical slowed,
kind of pulls the mount to the side and manages to avoid it.
All right, well,
Big Cat is going to stay up in this ranger's face for now,
hopefully stopping him from shooting anything clearly.
It doesn't stop him.
It just gives him disadvantage on doing it.
That's fine.
And I think that, yeah, this cat's kind of in his way and annoying him.
So I think that this archer literally fires a shot down at that big cat
with disadvantage.
That might be enough. 12.
Yeah, 12 is the lowest.
13 is the AC.
Big cat leaps to the side.
Oh, I forgot to take off the D6 anyway, actually, so that would have been fine.
Either way.
Big cat leaps to the side, doesn't connect,
and then it's a wisdom saving throw for the synaptic static.
That's a 20, Nova.
Oh!
Yeah, you save.
So the synaptic static is gone.
And then I have to save against the slow as well.
19 against the slow.
Yeah, that beats it.
The mount is still slowed.
The rider is not.
So half movement, basically.
But the... Something not. Okay. So half movement basically, but the...
Is it okay?
Anything else?
Sentry.
Okay, so I'm going to go Misty Step 5, 10, 15, because it's half movement, right?
And then 5, 10, 15.
Well, if you're teleporting,'s not halved, Sensory.
If you teleport through a difficult terrain, you don't get halved.
Yeah, that's the whole point of teleport.
20, 25...
30, so I can go up to here then.
Okay. Alright.
Cool, I'm gonna make two attacks against the archer.
Yep.
So 17 AC now,
because the slow is no longer in effect.
Awesome. Let's's go 25 for
the first hit nice mmm yes excellent a song I do a level 4 divine smite let me
do my damage 2d 12 5d a plus entry you get to add extra dice if a creature is undead
which reminds me
oh yeah
yes I do
is that an extra d8
it's an extra d8
so it's 68
68
you're gonna melt this
here we go
plus all the d4s
from enlarged as well
1d4
plus 7
45 points of damage plus 7 is yeah 52 damage oh you watch as like century phases through the
woods appears before this guy and then you just slam Starbreaker in this like thrust you don't
like its chest caves in the lance actually pierces through its chest
and as you pull it free the tattered armor reveals like a skeleton like rib cage that's been just
broken and smashed in half it's barely still functional like you can see the rider is still
you know battle ready but you've dealt this incredible blow to it as you've just like
nice i'm to do it again.
23 for the second hit.
That will also hit.
Yeah!
Again, again!
Oh, my dice thing has stopped.
Okay, so another... I'm going to do a level...
Let's not do a level 4. Let's do a level
3 Divine Smite for this guy.
Just to make sure.
Just chill out a little bit.
Just to make sure.
Yeah, give him a chance.
So that's that one.
Five DA.
And a D4.
Here we go.
So that's 57 for the second one.
Oh my god.
More on the last one.
So with the second one, you bring the lance back,
and this time you just kind of swipe it forward,
and it smashes into the creature's skull.
As you pull the lance back,
you leave just this concaved skull in its place,
and you watch as the skull and the bone skeleton in the cloak, this dark
leather armor just falls apart, turns to dust. And then the wind begins to pick up and that
wind becomes this wailing howl. The robes and the armor flare as if there was still
something in the stance. The bow picked up by almost invisible hands
as this green spectral figure where the skeleton once was
opens its mouth distortingly loud,
and this scream echoes out that just seems to vibrate.
And you begin to see baying hounds.
These ghostly dogs begin to go, as these ghosts begin to pour in from the sides.
As three spectral hounds are going to appear.
What?
Shit.
Oh, there's the wind.
We're not dealing with this as well as it is.
We are.
We are dealing with this fantastically, Kate.
Are you kidding?
If it hits us, we die.
No, it's not if it hits you, you'll die.
I was being very dramatic with the heartseeker thing.
You could die.
You don't automatically die.
You didn't make that very clear, Mark.
I know.
I wanted to keep me afraid.
Yeah, because that's the vision that Quill saw.
That was a vision.
Visions don't always come true.
That's what spooks are going to spook.
Spooks are going to be spooky.
You could.
Don't get me wrong.
It could shoot you and you could die, but not always.
He's not going to tell you otherwise.
You haven't died yet.
You haven't died yet.
Also, I mean, Century, you do see that the creature in the robes does reform as well.
The rider is in a more spectral form still there as it basically reforms in front of
you.
Oh no.
Anything else on your turn?
I think that's it.
I've done my movement action bonus action. Maybe I'll move back a little bit.
Sure.
Five, ten.
I'll move back this way a little bit.
Okay.
And then I'll hide this cat.
And we have Lucius.
Followed by Quill.
Lucius is going to...
Is this difficult terrain this log that you've got here?
No, no, the logs and stuff, no, no.
It's just the trees. Just the trees are difficult terrain.
20, 25, 30.
You're gonna come around the corner like...
Notice what's happening.
You see one of these ghostly green howls,
like Ghostbusters kind of turns its head on you,
horns and glowing red eyes.
Ooh!
Um, Lucius creates a tiny orange orb. turns its head on you with horns and glowing red eyes.
Lucius creates a tiny orange orb.
He pulls it apart into two and then thrusts two,
one at the wolf, one at the now ethereal green ghost.
So for the first one, this is at 7th level.
Nice.
I rolled a 3 to please hit.
I'm going to use a Seeking Spell, 2 sorcery points to reroll that.
Okay.
I know it probably might have hit, but I'm just going to be extra cautious for the wolf.
So here we go again.
16.
One more.
So 16 to the rider is a miss.
What did you get against the hound?
This is the wolf.
Oh, the wolf?
The wolf.
16 hits the wolf, actually.
I re-rolled because I seeked it.
Right.
Yeah, that's fine. Sorry, I was looking up something at the
same time. So what did you roll to hit the
rider? I haven't rolled that yet.
This is just the 16 for the wolf.
That hits the wolf, no problem.
Strikes the hound easily. Should I do the second
roll for the hunter, or
should I do the damage? No, do the roll for the hunter, and then
roll damage for both at the end. Alrighty.
Here comes the... Fuck!
Natural 1! Oh my god! 7th level spell! Okay, um, Roll damage for both at the end. All righty. Here comes the... Fuck! Natural one.
Oh, my God.
Seventh level spell.
Okay.
So I'll roll damage for the wolf now.
You can Seeking Spell the second roll, can't you? I should do that.
Yeah.
I'll do the damage.
So that's...
That destroys the wolf.
36, yeah.
The wolf evaporates.
It just...
I'll spend two more then,
and I'll reroll.
Sure.
The hit.
16.
Oh, my God.
16 is not enough.
Even with the reroll,
like, you just, in a panic,
you throw out the orbs,
and it just splashes against the trees
as this terrifying figure
looms over. Is that the end of your turn, Lucius?
A one and a four. That's all I can do.
Yeah, I maxed out that one.
I'll bonus action some
stuff.
At the end of your
turn, it's going to use its legendary action to use
Heartseeker against you. It's Heartbreaker, sorry.
As it pulls its longbow
back, almost looking past Sentry.
Now that Sentry's moved away, it kind of like,
as it sees you kind of back away from its Sentry,
it just leans forward, pulls its bow back towards Lucius and fires.
I can't see it. I don't even see it.
I wanted to.
So with advantage, six plus nine.
Okay. 19 plus nine okay 19 oh that is so close oh boy however if this attack hits but is
not a critical hit it deals an extra 29 necrotic damage.
That's a really bad roll.
That is a really, really bad roll.
Yeah.
It was 29 necrotic because it was the eight before and then 21.
So 10 piercing, 29 necrotic, so 39 total.
And this arrow pierces into Lucius.
You manage to pull back at the last second,
and it goes through, like, into your ribs,
but, like, it's, like, it was inches from your heart.
You're like...
Like, you survive, but, like, yeah, this thing nearly...
Another heart scar near the lung. Sweet.
Yeah, maybe, like, maybe actually...
Do you know what I think would be cool
is if, like, the scarring of your previous injury Near the lung, sweet. Yeah, maybe actually, do you know what I think would be cool?
Is if the scarring of your previous injury is what helps deflect the arrow away, right?
Like at the last second, the scarring tissue kind of just catches the arrow and drags it across rather than letting it go in.
Oh, that's brutal.
Yeah.
Still doesn't matter.
And that's the end of its turn.
And that was its legendary action quill.
Rock hard scars.
You know how the slightest deviation for something like an arrow can easily knock it off course?
All right, I can move because I can fly through this.
I can still move 50 feet.
You can fly over it easily. I can land right here, which is 30 feet in between all of these undead mothbusters.
And I'm going to use my turn undead.
And by extension, destroy undead if possible.
So yeah, I'll channel divinity from that.
What CR can you destroy of undead?
Good question. I can destroy 3 or lower at level 14.
Really? CR 3 or lower Undead?
Yeah, I mean, I don't know what this green spectre is, but I imagine the wolves. I'll catch those.
Yeah, so I'll do the wolves first because if these fail, you will destroy them.
What's the DC on your turn?
Amazing. it is...
Uh...
Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-bum-bum-bum-bum. Ah-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da It's not a spell, it's a class feature, that's the problem. Wisdom saving throw against something.
I'm guessing my spell save.
Yeah, minus two because the staff won't empower the turn undead.
I'm just interested if I can find it before he does.
I think it's 19.
19 is 19.
Yeah, I think it is.
Yeah, I think it's 19.
So both hounds vanish.
You just watch as Quill lifts up the symbol of Hesper.
This explosion of light feathers erupt,
and these two hounds, like the bad guys in Razors of the Lost Ark,
just melt away.
They're just like destroyed by holy light.
Very cool.
Is it possible for the book to be my new symbol of Hesper?
Yeah, sure.
You can hold up the Wayfinder's guide.
Makes sense. to be my new symbol of Hesper. Yeah, sure, you can hold up the Wayfinder's Guide. The rider and the ghostly steed,
it's technically not a nightmare,
I'm just using a nightmare stats.
Yeah, they both as well.
In fact, the nightmare, if it's CR3,
the ghostly steed, sorry, I should say,
that also vanishes, the nightmare itself.
The ghostly steed vanishes.
Very good. Very good. The rider itself vanishes. Oh my god! Very good.
Very good.
The rider sort of does land,
he doesn't fall prone, but like
shielding himself away from this blazing
light.
Oh my god.
So wait, did he fail as well?
He failed, yeah.
The spectre failed.
He's turned as well. For a minute.
Mm-hmm.
Cool.
Has to run away from him.
It basically has to use all of its movement and an action
to just get as far away from Quill as it can.
It can't willingly move into a space within 30 feet of me either.
It can't take reactions. It has to run.
And I don't think it can save it for a minute.
Also, we can just attack it freely. It won't break that turn.
Oh, nice.
So kill it. Kill it dead.
All right. Quill. Anything else?
That's it. That's me.
Oh, I've got a bonus action.
I think Sentry has taken a hit, so I'll do 12
healing to Sentry.
Thank you very much.
Thalia?
Can I have her move
because she can't
actually see the creature at the moment,
but I can't see what she can see because I can't
control her. Can she move
so she can see it, and then I think. Can she move so she can see it?
And then I think she'll probably only be able to attack it
with the energy crossbow, so 100 foot of range.
So if you want to do your little roll to see if her crossbow works.
I can't see what that is. 59. It's all good.
You can make the attack.
Okay, so the attack roll is...
Sorry, it is until it takes damage.
16.
Oh.
16 to hit.
That's okay.
Oh.
No, that's fine.
I wanted to blast everything else anyway.
It's fine.
It's luckily Thali misses.
It's basically a 17, so...
Wait, no, no, sorry.
That's 16 on the d20, but it's a plus 8.
Oh, it does hit it's a plus 8. Oh, 8, okay.
So 16 plus 8.
And then it's 1d10 plus 7.
So this is the d10.
5 plus 7, so 7, 8, 9, 11, 12.
Thalia from across the kind of way, this energy crossway blasts the rider
in the chest but you do see it kind of whip
round and it looks
at Quill like this spectral
face focused
its rage on
Keelakad Kalah as it
does so
alright
anybody I think Nova, Rosemeadow and
Kyrie the anyone so, you look behind you,
and you can see through this kind of mass of plant growth
that Sentry has created, by the way.
You see that right, you can just about still see them
still galloping towards you.
It moves about 60 feet, and then it vanishes.
Just as it's getting the edges of the plant growth,
it vanishes once more.
It just...
Ayla. Am I my life shout out or
wait on my turn you can show yeah you can just say yeah if you want to shout
something out yeah heads up the other writers incoming cool
Ayla okay I'm gonna get one more round out and then we'll wrap it up. We don't want a heads up.
Heads down.
Oh yeah.
That was, yeah.
What?
Doc!
Doc!
Head down!
Head down!
Necks in!
Present me a target.
Raise necks.
Um, actually, you're here.
Just checking my distances. I will throw the hammer at this dude, please.
Yeah, launch the hammer, flies through the air.
That is a 16 plus 14.
30 to hit.
Yes. Good. So normal attack. So 14, 15, 16. No, sorry,
15 damage from the hammer. Then... 17 lightning damage.
Oh, for the thing. So the lightning damage.
Oh, for the thing.
So the lightning damage is half, so that's eight.
So yeah, the hammer smashes into the spectre,
the lightning damage partially absorbed by its unique form,
and then the hammer flies back into your hand.
Finally hit it!
It did.
It's also, now that it doesn't have its mount, its movement is way more restricted, whereas before it could sort of just run around. Anything else, Aelor, on your turn? You're done. If not, Nova's up.
That's me.
Alright, Nova.
So I can't see this thing right now, so I'm just gonna...
Whoopsie.
Move 5, 10... thing right now so I'm just gonna whoopsie move 5 10 and now I can see you
15 20 25 the depth off I'm gonna move up the dirt path and I think I'm gonna save
some stuff for when the other guy gets here um so it's going to be some eldritch blasts in the meantime um first one is a 17 to hit uh hits yep 17 hits hits um and that is 12 points
of damage 12 points of damage first one i got excited there in actual form i thought First blast hits its spectral form. I thought I rolled a natural 20, but I didn't.
I rolled a dirty 20.
Dirty 20 still hits, though.
That's my second one.
Ooh! I rolled a 10 on my damage, though, so 15 damage.
Second blast slams into its other shoulder.
Last one is 21 to hit and 14 points of force damage.
There we go.
All three blasts, bam, bam! This thing takes an absolute There we go. All three blasts. Bam, bam.
This thing takes an absolute pummeling from these three
blasts. Still barely put together.
You can see part of its spectral
form has dissipated, become less potent,
less powerful, but it is still
there. Anything else, NovaVidja?
That's all I got,
boo. Big Cat. Thomas,
take us away with Big Cat.
He's right next to this nerd, so no parents, but he is going to...
Yeah, he's just going to bite him. Bite him dead.
Bite him dead.
Nope, he's not. That's his turn.
Okay. I'm actually going to provoke an opportunity attack from Big Cat.
This guy, in an absolute bawly mood, this specter just kind of steps, just doesn't even
look at Big Cat, just steps towards Quill, so he's like 10 feet in front of Quill, brings
up the bow and is like, firing twice.
You hear this rasping whisper, Tom. You hear like,
AEROS ESPRA!
Do you want to make an opportunity attack as big cat?
Yes, I did. It was a 19.
That will hit.
It knows.
1d10 plus 3. It does...
Oh!
10 damage.
10 points of damage.
The bite kind of like
rips off part of this thing's
spectral form but it steps up with maybe
its last moments and
fires twice directly at Quill.
Yeah, um...
Uh-huh.
Two shots, I can't be as important this way.
I'm gonna say, yeah, I'm about to roll, are you doing anything?
Uh...
Two attacks, so...
Yeah, I mean, I'll...
Sure, I'll Portent the first one
into an 8, I know that still hits me,
but the vision I see is me shielding this thing.
So I'm going to do that.
So the first one, it fires.
It hits you.
You shield.
Your shield is now active,
but you've used your reaction.
Then the second one goes.
You've got no portents left as well.
The second one is a 27, 18.
Oh my God.
That still hits. Oh, my God. That still hits.
Oh, so close.
12 points of piercing plus 12 necrotics,
a 24 damage total.
Oh, so I need to make a double concentration.
DC 12.
12, 17, and a 15.
Amazing.
I've still got both my concentrations.
Very nice. I totally forgot about this very nice i totally forgot this thing i totally
forgot it has legendary resistance as well but never mind um i'll save that for next time i'll
save that for next time uh century all righty i'm gonna move up next to quill oh it's dead
if century hits this thing it's dead yeah i'm just gonna hit this guy I'm gonna go for it first attack
I might miss 16
16 does miss yeah it kind of
ducks under starbreaker
like it's just looking at Quill
like this bird must die
use this
disgusting holy power against me
17 for the second one
it hits
exactly what you need amazing right I'm gonna do Holy power against me. 17 for the second one! It hits.
Exactly what you need.
Amazing. Right, I'm gonna do
a level 4. To be fair, it should
also hate sentry for the amount of damage it dealt
to sentry, but Quill
triggered it with specific
RPs. I mean, I Thanos-ed its horse.
So... Yeah. And its
hounds. And you
called on the power of the thing it
hates a lot
four two ah dead gods it hates dead gods zarkira doesn't have a big she doesn't have a lot
of love for him that's true the level two divine smite 35 42 damage the lance kind of
strikes as it's pulling the but you can see about to make one of these heartbreaker bow strikes against quill like like like with advantage right blank and then
this green lance just and it just explodes into light it just into nothing nice awesome Awesome. Gone. Have I ever said how cool you are?
It completely vanishes.
Sentry, still your turn.
We're gonna just try and wrap up this turn and then we're gonna save it because it's not over.
There's still another one out there.
Almost unharmed another one out there.
So I've done
bonus actions. I'm gonna
bonus action cast
Staggering Smite and get ready for the next boy.
Okay. And now I'm gonna end my turn.
Alright. Lucius.
Okay.
I'm holding my action because I've got
90 feet which is basically the end of this
dirt path. I'm gonna
twin Chromatic Orb it it, and its horse.
You can't see it.
You can't see it.
It vanished.
It comes into range.
Oh, you're readying in action.
Sorry, okay.
So when you see it, you're going to cast.
There's another shout.
It's coming.
It's on its way.
Yes.
Yeah, you look around.
You couldn't see it.
Sorry, I missed that part.
Kila, can I come on then?
I would like to go into the middle of the road uh where possible
and the moment this thing comes out of the um grass i want to banish its horse yeah
i want her to move back towards uh kairi and Rosemeadow and hold an action that she will fire at the rider
when it comes out, if she's within range.
Well, she will be within range.
This thing is going to get blasted.
Well, will it?
We'll find out.
That's where we're going to end this episode
because we're going to wrap it up on yogis
and it's literally eight o'clock,
so we're going to save the encounter because we've got to wrap it up on Yoggys and it's literally 8 o'clock,
so we're going to save the encounter.
It's okay because next time, like what,
this thing comes out, its horse potentially gets banished.
It gets hit twice by Lucius, once by Thalia and Nova maybe.
You might hit it though.
You do have to hit it.
Depending on how it appears,
it might get an action before you get to do your actions yeah
it's not just invisible it's not
there
you don't know where it's going to appear
if you feel
but yeah you guys will definitely
when it pops in you'll get to do something but
who will it go after where is it going to
appear yeah let's just remember
our held actions for next time.
Remember.
