So, before I describe what happens, we're going to just jump into it because we've had the break
we're going to jump into you guys arriving at this place i want to preface this with a couple
of things i googled uh because i was like fuck how big is this forest like how far are you guys
going to go i've done a bunch of calculations using the travel pace
in the player's handbook which is represented by how far a party can travel moving at 30 feet
you know how far can they go in miles how long does it take etc i then cross reference that with
like how big is like a big forest on earth so i use the black forest in germany i was like right
okay that's how big that is that's way way too big. Pretty big. I've done some calculations based on that.
I have calculated how much,
how far these hunters who can move 180 feet around
because they can dash on their horses
through the ethereal plane,
how far can they travel in an hour?
And then I've cross-referenced that with the distance
that I think you guys
would be away from where they would be
when this happens. Oh no, it takes
three days. Talia's dead.
They can travel
really far in six seconds.
They can go very far
in six seconds. I will reveal how far
a little in a minute.
You guys set out.
Walks on Morning Dew leads you.
Dawnweaver does indeed enshroud you with a spell
to kind of hide you from these hunters whilst you travel.
You make your way with Rosemeadow
and the group of you with Walks on Morning Dew.
And you travel for a good while.
Like Walks on Morning Dew,
you travel for at least about another eight hours.
And walks on Morning Dew basically will tell you,
I am leading you as far away from where the hunters were
the last time my mistress knew where they were.
I'm leading you as far away from them as I can,
you know, under the guise of this spell.
And the travel is accelerated.
Because of Dawnweaver's spell, it actually makes it so that you travel further as well
you're actually moving a lot faster than you would in the real
real plane
cool
you eventually come to a point
where what someone you do turns around
and is like ah we have arrived
oh I can
I can return you to the material to the real plane when you desire it.
I suggest that you act quickly once the spell is ended.
Understood.
Will the actual real reality look like this?
Similar to this?
Yes.
And they will show you.
You can vaguely see yourselves.
You are in a very dense part of the wood with a bunch of woodland trails.
Kind of twisting and turning away from the main pathway road.
These now appear more like woodland trails.
Dense foliage all around.
And is this suitable to put a temple in if it was 120 million feet wide?
It's 120 foot by 120 foot, so I have put down a square.
So this is basically like, that's 120 foot across.
So wherever you want to cast this temple quill,
this is going to be entrance and then I'm going to extend it.
I don't want to fill the entire central area of this map.
So try and put the square like on an edge or something.
I'll put it where it's suitable to go.
Cause I guess trees and stuff might get in the way or whatever.
Yeah.
It's also a right pain to move because of World 20 as well.
That's fine. I'll put it where you've said it's going. That makes sense.
So Quill would move down and you'd start casting it basically about here.
So that's going to be the entrance to the temple, basically.
And then it will extend off the map.
Cool.
And is everyone else ready?
The moment we come out of this, again, kind of confusing reality, not reality,
they're going to know where we are.
They're going to be charging towards us.
So is everyone ready?
Casting Fly on Ayla, everyone else doing their stuff,
getting ready to Banish when they show up.
Yep. So we can buy a little more time.
You've got an hour, so you don't want to cast any spells that don't last very long.
True. You just let us know when you're close to finishing.
We will then do all the things in preparation okay great in that case
uh i'm ready to go and start casting this well in terms of players
so i i don't know if we want to to track them
there because otherwise they might just pop up in front of us
um true There. Because otherwise they might just pop up in front of us.
True.
I'm assuming this is happening before you exit the mirror world
or whatever.
Before Dawn with the spell ends.
Could I potentially climb up
one of the trees to try and get
a view so I could
see if anything was moving closer
towards our position, at least on the material plane. I don't know if you want to cover the
ethereal nova, but I would like to do that so I can keep an eye out.
Either that or I cast Truesight on someone before I start casting the temple.
Ooh, that could help actually because I'd rather keep the ethereal flame for if we fight,
maybe I can use it then.
Who's the most perceptive of us?
I'm pretty good.
The one who's casting a spell is the most perceptive of us.
It's fine, I'll sit in a tree.
It's all good.
Provide me true sight.
I'll look around.
Okay.
That lasts an hour as well.
The perfect amount of time.
Oh, you have to do them right at the same time.
Ready?
Well, what?
I can't do it at the same time. You have to cast true sight first,
and then he has to cast Emplore the Gods.
As soon as you can.
Straight into it.
I could just cast Truesight on you
just before we come into the actual reality.
So I'm ready to go.
Oh, yeah, because you'll be on Lucius, not the plane.
Yeah.
I'll stay close to you.
If anyone comes near you, I'll defend you.
Okay.
Well, move yourselves on the map.
We have this kind of twisted woodland trail,
for audio listeners, surrounded by trees.
For the purposes of battle, by the way,
I'm not going to do any dynamic lighting,
but for things like line of sight,
to determine if you can see a target and things like that,
we'll just use the ruler tool.
If you draw a line through the middle of a tree,
basically assume that you can't see stuff.
If it's kind of clipping the edges of a tree,
then I'll just make it so it's a bit obscured um because otherwise it was going to be a you wouldn't be able to see anything on this
map with the weird dynamic item so yeah so yeah move yourselves where you wish to be uh make any
preparations rose meadow will stick close to quill and sentry um ayla's climbing a tree i'm not even
gonna make you roll for that. That would be stupid
I'll stick at the base of the tree near Ayla so Ayla I can cast fly on you as soon as
You come down from the tree
Sorry, I just remembered to roll my portents
One and a three. That's pretty good. Pretty powerful. Okay. He's just really focusing on looking for anything that moves in this wood.
Okay.
In this thick forest.
He's scanning like Lookout does.
Sure.
How long...
Actually, that's a good question.
One of Rosemeadow's spells.
How long does Actually, that's a good question. One of Rosemeadow's spells. How long does this last?
Exactly two hours, luckily.
Enough time for me to cast it and a tough time for the fight.
One hour?
So you're trying to be perceptive, right, Lucius?
Yes.
So Rosemeadow will come up to you.
She's like, okay, this is going to be my first time trying this,
but I think this will help.
Okay.
And she will place her hands on your shoulders,
and she's going to cast Enhance Ability for...
Where's Owl's Wisdom?
That should still be a thing.
You have Owl's Wisdom.
You have advantage on wisdom checks,
so you have advantage on perception checks. Who's Owl? Not a saving phrase. You have Owl's Wisdom. You have advantage on Wisdom checks, so you have advantage on Perception checks.
Who's Owl?
Not a saving phrase.
Yeah, Owl's Wisdom.
Owl's Wisdom.
Come on down to Owl's Wisdom bar.
So, Quill, you need to give the signal
when you want...
Yeah, in that case, I'll cast True Sight on Lucius
and then ask to come out of alternate reality, mirror reality.
Walks on Morning 2 is like,
very well, good luck, champions.
And then you feel like a slight sense of vertigo,
but nothing changes.
Nothing seems to change around you, but you get this weird warping of space
and sense of vertigo, and then everything returns to normal.
What do you guys do?
I start casting Temple of the Gods!
Okay.
You cast Temple of the Gods, and the rest of you keep an eye out, I'm assuming.
Yep, ground myself, check where Quill is, and just start scanning the area.
All right.
And thanking Rosemary as well.
You see no sign of anything,
but you can make checks if you would like.
Yes.
Here comes a nat 20.
Here it comes.
21.
21.
There's no sign of movement. Scanning around.
20. Non-natural. 20. Still no sign of movement. Everything
seems fairly quiet. You don't really see too much movement. There's no animals or anything
like that. This particular area of the forest seems deathly quiet. Another 10 minutes passes.
I've picked a window. That looks nice.
Very good. Grab that. Remember that one?
Another 10, 20 minutes passes.
Do you guys want to do anything?
Are you just keeping an eye out?
Just keeping, yeah.
I'll just keep your previous perception checks for now.
The longer the time goes on, the more anxious Lucius gets.
Sure.
They're going to be coming at any minute
right another 10 minutes it's 40 minutes now no sign i like shells perception they look nice
anybody who wants to make any check or if anybody wants to do anything that's why i'm kind of going
in 10 minutes just in case anybody wants to cast a spell anybody wants to do anything
minutes just in case anybody wants to cast a spell anybody wants to do anything uh 24 natural 20 minus one for 19.
okay uh so far are those curtains oh a nice color yeah century we need to look around. Stop talking.
No sign.
Everything's still silent.
Maybe they've given up.
Maybe they just don't exist anymore.
Maybe you killed them before already, baby.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Maybe Hope is a good name for you.
Ooh. She kind of claps at that.
All right.
50 minutes.
Any spells?
I'm guessing...
I can do a Divine Sense.
You can do a Divine Sense, yeah.
So what's the range on that?
It's like 60 feet, right?
60 feet, yeah.
You're using that to check which chair would fit best in the corner, right?
Yeah, yeah.
You open up your census sentry.
The only thing you can detect now is Rosemeadow is a fae creature.
Like, Rosemeadow is a fully fae creature now.
She registers as fae in your divine sense.
I can sense Rosemeadow, I couldn't do that before.
What do you mean?
One hour passes.
The temple appears.
Oh, yeah!
Fae!
What?
What does this temple look like?
I genuinely didn't expect this to happen.
I mean, I did my math, Dan. I genuinely didn't expect this to happen. I mean...
I did my maths, Dan.
I did my maths, and you'll see.
The temple, I think, looks very similar to the...
I think the last and only real temple of Hespera
I've actually been in,
and it would be the one in Kaylie's Rest.
Right.
Like this...
I mean, not when it was burnt down, but...
It's more like a library basically because
the one in cayman's rest was basically a town library um you've also you've been to another
temple of hespa dude you went to the big one no oh of course no that's not it yeah yeah that one
Nah, that's not really a temple. The big one with the puzzles and like, yeah.
It was like a huge statue.
The dragon.
The one.
No, that's the temple of one.
No, that's the temple of Quill.
Like the thing on the front door.
This is a lovely library.
But I mean, I think it's in that kind of like, I almost like the idea that the stone, the old, almost diagonally kind of style,
where the stones themselves shift to create a doorway,
and then they shift backwards to make just a wall.
So from the outside, I guess this is just a big stone structure, kind of.
But we have access to it by shifting stones and moving things around.
And on the inside, I guess this is also Hogwarts.
The shelves are moving around too, and they give us paths,
but then they can shift back into a place.
So it's...
We're able on the inside to move around pretty freely.
Yeah.
A living library maze.
But like steps come out for us,
but then they shift back into the walls and it's just this plain box on the inside.
Is it all paintings of Quill?
Actually, there's one little clarification,
just reading the spell again.
It says the temple's interior is an open space
with an idol or altar at one end.
You decide whether the temple is illuminated
and what illumination is, whether it's bright or light.
So it does have those features like the shifting walls and like the bookcases and things but the actual main space you can't make it a maze or anything like that it has to
be like a big open like cathedral main temple space basically um but you can design like the
walls and like it can have a balcony and stuff like that is fine but you just have to be a big
open space in the middle um and then there's, is it like an idol or an altar at the
end? Like, what does that look like?
The idol looks like that statue
that we saw just outside the last temple
of Hesper that we went to.
You know, the actual temple of Hesper.
The big winged humanoids. Yeah, the actual temple.
Yeah.
For some reason in my head, I was like, oh, that was
a temple For a dragon
That was your arc
Let's just move on
And then you choose
The temple opposes types of creatures you choose
Choose one or more of the following
So you can have celestials, elementals
Fiends, fey
Or undead
You can choose as many of them as you would like, apparently.
All but Fae.
We want Rosemado to come in still.
Okay.
So all but Fae.
Yeah.
There's no Celestials and stuff around here, is there?
I mean, you've said now.
What?
The temple manifests, conjured by golden light
and then made real into real stones.
And it kind of dominates the forest,
seemingly overlapping it,
just completely sort of erases what was there before.
Yeah.
The temple appears.
I'm now going to slip into six second rounds.
What do you do?
Inside?
Inside?
We can all go inside.
I mean, did you see none?
Like they're nowhere nearby.
I didn't see anything.
I was looking so hard.
I've got a headache
okay let's just get inside and discuss it there let's go in let's go sure so an hour long so
so true sight ends because that was that you cast it before the temple true sight's gone um was
there any other spells active i don't think so noanceability, I think that's the only one.
If I put this stupid box on the map layer,
if you guys just position yourselves on the strip,
we know that that means you're in the temple, basically.
Yeah, walking around its halls.
Amazed by this beauty six seconds passes
nothing another six seconds passes nothing another six seconds passes
nothing how long is this episode gonna be and then you know that was close something tries to get inside
the temple something like they've traveled something like a hundred and
eight thousand feet in the time and the distance i basically i picked like a
i was like right miles i'm gonna make it so that they travel this many miles that's the distance
that they can get to and it was something like a hundred uh and 50 or like a hundred and like
20 something thousand it was basically like their movement speed was enough that there was about three rounds of full
distance it was like 36
about 48
about 4800 extra feet on top
it was fucking
tight I did the math and it was
three fucking rounds you finished
the temple before they got there
that's awesome
if they're trying to gain access
then they have to make a charisma save.
And they can't enter it from the ethereal plane.
They have to come back into the material plane to enter it, right?
It extends into the ethereal plane, so they could try and enter it from the ethereal plane.
Ah, so they could still try and enter it from the ethereal plane. That's important.
Nothing can physically pass through the temple's exterior. Yeah.
Do I actually know if anything comes in?
I'm going to say that like you are aware that something is trying. You don't know whether
it succeeds or fails, but you know that something is trying to make the saving throw.
Unless we physically see it.
Yeah. Unless you physically see it. But if these guys were ethereal at the moment you guys
can't tell so um we're also going to yeah i won't we'll do initiative like once i've tried this
thing through oh encounter builder please don't crash i've taught you i've taught you up so much
encounter builder please don't do this to me oh because you added every single brick of this temple i did yeah you're right mundane brick
i've been having some um yeah charisma 21 save like they don't i think they're hugely
charismatic these guys are they maybe the horses now they're spooky they're hugely spooky
Are they? Maybe the horses? They're spooky.
Hugely spooky.
What's that?
Also, I think there was
some kind of protection
against fear, I think, as well.
No, that's a different spell. Don't worry.
I remember they also can fear us, too.
Is it concentration?
So what's the weakness?
No.
What's the weakness that they have when they're in the temple then, if they were to get in?
Minus d4.
Oh, the minus d4.
I'm just returning a hardware exploration to see if this works.
There's also no divination inside, or can appear inside the temple.
There's also no divination inside the temple. Also, no divination into my... Sorry.
It was the reason my thing went...
I turned off hardware acceleration
and it restarted Twitch audio for some reason.
Oh.
Weird.
Oh, God, this is going to be annoying.
As much as I love the encounter builder,
I'm having some sort of weird issue with it.
That's a you problem.
Oh, also, it smells like burning incense in here.
And it's mild.
What kind of incense?
Ooh, lavender.
What kind of incense?
Lavender?
Lavender incense.
I'm allergic!
My eyes!
It's going to be a bit stingy.
It's going to be a bit stingy.
Lucius is blinded for the entire encounter.
He's got rashes. he's inflamed Everything is swollen
Let's see
Godlike incense
No, I googled it and
Weird
So in classic fashion
Whenever I try and click on
The hunter's stat blocks
In the encounter builder
It crashes it
but like other characters are fine
you should get
TNT Beyond with all this verbal
communication of what's going wrong
sloppy dice
also
I'll reiterate this is a Mark problem
yeah it's 100% a me problem
I think that it's
I think it's maybe like something that I've done
in the custom stat block is fucking it up.
But that means I'm going to have to kind of jump between...
I'm going to have to manually roll these dice, I think.
Well, charisma.
What if I do it from here?
Just roll that dice!
Dude, seriously, I'm trying.
Trust me, I want to get through it as quickly as I can.
What else is in here?
I'll say it's bright light.
It's bright light in here right now.
Is there a sacrificial altar?
Oh yeah.
That's important.
Really Hesper.
Top Hesper decor.
We could do a little sacky in here.
Little sacky?
Okay.
A couple sackies.
Just a little sacky.
Let's put some squirrels and stuff around there, right? In the forest?
Anyone want to get sacked?
Yeah sure, why not?
No.
That's the thing, I'm gonna sack you so hard.
Come at me, brah. Yeah, sure, why not? I'm going to sack you so hard.
Come at me, brah.
Get sacked, brah.
I'm pretty knowledgeable.
Brah.
I'll be a great sacrifice, brah.
Okay.
I'm just going to have to manually roll all of the
Revenant Rider and the Revenant Hunter,
and then I just have to manually check their stat blocks,
which is just going to mean I'm going to be a bit slow.
So apologies.
The first one fails the saving throw to enter.
Plus three to roll.
Get out.
Yeah, they both fail so you
quill uh i probably
shouldn't have said if they failed or not but um
never mind uh yeah you you sense
that something tries to enter but
fails
should we roll initiative so that we
know what we're doing uh yes please
roll initiative what are we doing
all right
lambing huge fuzzy dice are so cute yeah i've got fuzzy dice now Please roll initiative. What are we doing? All right. Blammy.
Huge.
These fuzzy dice are so cute.
Yeah, I've got fuzzy dice now.
I had to.
19.
I've got dragon egg dice.
I'm also going to have to manually input this for now.
You closing all the time.
Nice.
Well, I rolled a massive five on my initiative.
Five total.
Nova.
19.
What did you get, initiative?
19.
19.
9.
Lucius.
13.
15.
Ayla.
15.
15.
15.
And then Sentry. 17. 17. 15 15 and then century
17
17
okay
uh nova vija
i will
cast fly
on my
i can cast it on is it up to three two additional targets so I might
as well cast it on three people who wants to go fast
Ayla century people yeah
Rosemary yes or not Oh Rosemary yeah yeah Luciuscius you go so sentry lucius and ayla can now fly don't worry it's just fine
awesome fine that's 60 feet movement yeah so uh 60 feet uh fly speed uh
uh just don't go too high yeah okay it's up to ten minutes as well. Oh nice. It's concentration though, remember.
Yeah, it's concentration. That's why I'm saying don't go too high, just in case!
Okay, stay low. And then anything else?
Can I see any of these rude dudes? You're inside the temple.
It does have as many windows as I want apparently So I'll say there are
windows. It's all window?
Yeah
You can have definitely
big glass windows
You can have as many as you want. You don't see anything outside
Okay
Then that's all I'm going to do
for this turn is just press my nose up to a
window and cast fly on three scrubs.
Okay.
Well, the rider...
Yep.
Gives up.
Well, you know what?
This is a bit much now.
I'm just going to stop.
This is very silly.
I'm so ready to play out.
You're being very, very silly.
A full 24 hours in combat timing.
How long was that?
A century.
A long time.
A very long time.
A century's going to stay close to Quill for the time being.
Just keep an eye out, see if any movement is in the temple.
Keep a BD out.
Seemingly not.
Ayla?
So there's windows around this whole thing?
Apparently according to Tom, yes.
I was going to have a look at all the windows.
I'm going to look as much as I can and see what I can see.
You look as much as you can, you see nothing.
They're ethereal.
They're on the ethereal plane, aren't they?
Mm-hmm.
That's an interesting point.
They're not here yet.
They're hiding.
It's not an interesting point.
You can't get through the temple of the gods.
Try as you might.
It's inaccessible.
Even though it looks all window, you can't break it.
Try throw stones at it, I dare you.
Oh, oh, hang on a minute, Tom.
It doesn't say I can't break windows.
It doesn't say that.
It says I can't enter the temple.
It doesn't say that you've made it out of indestructible glass.
You can set fire to it, though.
No, the rocks that they throw,
I've also not allowed them to come in.
No, that's not true at all.
What type of enemy?
They're fey.
They pick up the rocks from the feywild.
They're fey rocks. You see nothing. What do you do, Ayla? Okay, what's the plan, everyone? What do you want me to do?
Whack when you see them.
They're ethereal. We're going to need to go out there.
Rosemeadow should make herself known.
They're after her.
They'll probably make themselves visible when they see her.
I'm stood at these windows, these giant windows you've made.
She's like, stood by one of the giant windows.
All right.
Okay.
Now, Ayla, after your turn ends, you do see something, because one of them is going to come out of the ethereal plane, and it's the archer.
Can I, as part of my movement... Is there any stone between the windows?
This is after your turn. But is there any stone between the windows?
Top to Tom.
I'm asking Quill.
How have you built this?
If I remember correctly, Tom described it as it is all windows.
Okay, hang on.
It's like conference center.
There's a lot.
Big windows.
It's a decent amount of window.
Yeah? No, I'll say that there are large windows, but it is not all window.
But yeah, there's stone in between the windows.
I'm going to keep saying it's all window because I like saying it's all window, but
it's not all window.
It's literally a glass house.
When they're attacking us, it's all wall.
When we want to look out of it, it's all window.
Oh, that's weird.
I see.
No, it's that one way glass and they don't know. That's weird. It's that one way glass.
And they don't know.
There's a bit of wall.
Where do you need wall?
There's wall.
But I was going to stand at the wall
and look out the window.
At the wall.
Look out the window.
No, there's window there.
It's everywhere. It's all window there. It's everywhere.
It's all windows.
But it's all walls.
How about this?
I've got windows down.
Oh.
There we go.
It's Wendy.
Hi.
It's not all window.
It's a lot of window though.
Yeah.
You said there were windows.
No, I'm just saying there's a lot of window.
It's not all window.
I wish it was.
You know what?
It's all windows.
It's all windows. It's all windows. It's all windows. It's all windows. It's a lot of window though. You said there were windows!
No, I'm just saying there's a lot of window.
It's not all window.
I wish it was.
You know what?
It's all window.
It's just glass.
All right.
Well, Ayla, this was technically, this was after you were taking your turn.
So yeah, the archer pulls back and he's going to fire an arrow at Rosemallow.
Who's at the window? Yeah, the archer pulls back and is going to fire an arrow at Rosemallow.
Who is that? The window.
Who is that? The window.
Object hardness.
Yes, that's in. Let's have a look here. It's actually arrow-proof glass.
Yeah, it's arrow-proof glass.
It's ten panes of window back-to-back.
We can see through it. It's ten panes of window back-to-back. We can see through it just fine.
It's ten times glazed.
Yeah.
Why is it bulletproof glass?
What are the rules of getting access?
All the spell says is that they can't physically enter.
The temple is made from a opaque magical force
that extends into the ethereal plane,
thus blocking ethereal travel into the temple's interior.
Nothing can physically pass through the temple's exterior,
so it probably can't go into it
because it says nothing can physically pass
through the temple's exterior.
It also can't be dispelled,
but the creature doesn't know that.
So the creature pulls back an arrow
and fires at these windows,
and the arrow just bounces off of it
bounces off
I think they're here
my go?
yeah
is it mine?
yeah
yeah because I
just reading through it
that one line
which is like a little tiny sentence
nothing can physically pass through the temple's exterior,
I'm going to say means that, like, yeah, arrows and projectiles can't pass through.
Yeah, if it's force, like if it's a force barrier, it seems like that would...
Yeah, but it does say nothing can physically pass through,
so things like spells might still be able to pass through.
But did it not in the start of the description say something about force?
It says it's made from an opaque magical force,
but it's not.
It doesn't say that it stops spells.
Has Sentry had a go?
Yeah. Sentry
did have a go, yeah.
Lucius is going to look out the window
of which there are many,
see the archer
spirit and he's going to cast slow on it 40 foot cube I'm gonna do a cube where
it's in the top right of the cube and the cube extends towards us in case it
could capture the other one that's maybe hiding there probably not um and that's my
good i just lost the spell but yeah maybe spells like slow would work because you're choosing a
point on the other side it says within range yeah so yeah so yeah okay so uh
these windows open, do they?
Interesting.
Okay.
And it's all window.
So you can open the entire thing.
But if a window, can we make an argument?
If you open a window,
does that allow objects to physically pass through?
No.
Nothing can physically get through.
If we can shoot out of it, they can shoot back. Yes, that's my ruling.
If you want, give it like a single set of patio doors.
Give it some patio doors that we can just...
No.
You know.
Well, the thing is though, when you close a window,
uh, Espo opens the door.
It's a really annoying phrasing for that.
Okay.
It's all windows.
What was the DC on this blow, Tron?
18.
18. The nightmare fails, so it is slowed, or the ghostly steed is failed.
The rider, however, succeeds.
Okay.
Got 19 plus 2.
The steed has minus 2 to AC and dexterity saving throws
and it can't use reactions.
It can either use an action or a bonus action,
not both.
Okay, good to know.
All right, anything else, Lucius?
He floats up into the air because he can.
Okay, nice.
Rosemallow on her go. there's no window if you say window one more time
he's gonna drive over to your house and slap you uh rosemary i will turn this stream around
taps the window they definitely can't shoot me through this right, Quill? Tap tap tap tap tap.
I don't know.
Just waves.
Quill.
Rose does nothing on her turn because she's like, I don't know, I'm in this temple.
I mean, yeah, seeing the...
I didn't think about my entire turn this entire time.
I've been saying just window back to back can I do range attacks through it
nope
we've determined that
what if I open a window
I swear to god
anyway
we will say that if you want to attack them
you have to stay out you have to go outside.
You have to step outside the temple.
Oh, I'll just take a step out and then take a step back in with the rest of my turn.
Okay, a triggered action goes off.
The rider who had readied their action and the nightmare who had readied their action
charge you.
Yeah, you know what, that-
If you die, does the spell go?
No, it's not concentration.
So you do your thing first, and then the old thing goes off,
because, like, the ready action.
Actually, no, I think their ready action interrupts your action.
There was when something appeared outside, so they get to go first.
Yeah, that makes sense. So this is the revenant rider with the sword um who's going
to come in they can only make one attack uh because of uh ready in action can i protect
will please where to protect it it's disadvantaged's disadvantage. It's disadvantage because it's protected.
You rolled a 20, BTdubs.
Sentry.
I think you've just saved my life.
Oh!
Three.
You stepped out ten feet.
I couldn't have, I wouldn't have knelt to anything.
Oh my god, so funny.
By the way.
Portent only works if he says it before I roll it as well.
Like he has to portent before I roll.
So we watch the roider swinging by.
Quill steps out the temple and there is a flash of steel
and Sentry, there is just something, you know it's coming.
You throw a Starbreaker out
and it's just enough to deflect this sword,
which is just about to cut Quill's head clean.
Oh God.
And you just, the sparks fly as the sword
scrapes along the magical weapon.
Can we just take a second to notice how
freaking happy Mark looked
when he rolled an at 20?
He was thrilled.
That was like,
oh god, Quill's gonna die.
That was it.
After all the temple, he's gonna fucking die. That was it. Fuck, Quill's gonna fucking die. After all this,
after all the temple,
he's gonna fucking die.
He steps outside
and gets beheaded.
Building a temple
just like,
can't kill us.
It's a mausoleum.
That was nuts.
That was just nuts there.
That roll, I was like,
I didn't hear
Sentry say protection.
Like my mind,
it was like,
you know what you get
that into tonight?
It's just that noise when it's Like, my mind, it was like, you know when you get that tinted light, it's just that noise before the top roll.
I was like, oh!
But, you know, after the whole window kerfuffle,
you would have deserved it, Tom.
Well, that was the readied action.
The mount moved, and then the attack goes off.
So that's the readied action.
Well, fuck.
Now you complete your turn.
Yep, I was just going to Guiding Bolt at 4th level
on the slow archer in the back there.
That is a plus 13 to hit.
30.
Wow. 30 hits?
30.
4d6 plus 1d6 I think.
So 4, 5,
6, 7d8.
Is there any extra 4 undead?
Unless it says
on the spell. These guys aren't vulnerable
to it, so no.
Yeah, it's just radiant damage.
Is it D8 on the coin and ball, or is it D6?
No, you're right.
I rolled 7D8. My bad.
You can just click it from the spell, dude.
Like, you can just click it from the upcast spell.
Yeah.
22 damage, and you have advantage on the next attack on that guy.
Uh, yeah. And that was against the actual archer.
Uh, I'm gonna nudge back.
He can still attack you from here. Well, actually no, because the the temple barrier, yeah, would prevent it.
Yeah, I guess so.
My bad, not doing that again
okay don't go out though
I don't know
alright
end of your turn Quill
that's my turn
fuck I mean
I can't even use
their legendary actions
because they literally
can't attack you
through the barrier
yeah
can't do anything
alright
Nova Vija
can I cast Hexblade Curse Can't do anything. All right. Nova Vija.
Can I cast Hexblade Curse on this guy?
As long as it's not like a beam or anything that passes through the thing.
So like the slow spell,
if it originates just like in a spot.
Yes.
Yeah, it just says like a creature you can see within 30 feet.
Yep. Then you can. So I feet. Yep, then you can.
So I'll Hexblade Curse him.
And I'm guessing you probably won't allow me to do an Eldritch Blast because I feel like that comes from me.
Yeah, it comes from you and projects outwards. It's a beam. It specifically says it's like a beam of force.
If I went to this magical doorway though and and started blasting
but that you have to be outside the temple i have to be outside okay so what if i go 5 10 15 20 25
wait no where was i 5 10 15 20 25 started blasting and then popped back in
yeah you can do that
on my last bit
in which case
I'm going to start blasting
at the one that I just cussed
so the
first one
it should have been a 19, 28 to hit on the
first beam
yep 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 Oh, it should have been a 19. 28 to hit on the first beam.
Yep.
Hits.
7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
11 points of damage.
The extra damage comes from the Hexblade Curse.
From the Hexblade Curse.
And that's on the sword wielding rider, or is this the archer?
The swordy, sword boy.
Sword guy.
So 11 points.
Yep.
11 on the second one, so I'm guessing that's not a hit. That is not a hit, no.
Okay.
Third one is 14 to hit.
Does not hit.
Both of them are either kind of like pulling the ghostly steed to the side so that the blast misses,
deflecting it with their blade.
The second blast, the beams do not connect.
And then you five feet and step back inside the magical temple that they cannot enter. deflecting it with their blade. The second blasts, the beams do not connect.
And then you, five feet, step back inside the magical temple that they cannot enter.
Okay. Yep.
Alright, the rider on his go will basically tell the mount to just basically get the fuck out of here.
He can't do anything, so, and then the mount goes next.
The mount goes to the ethereal plane
and they're going to fuck off.
Oh, great.
Well, they're not stupid.
They're not just going to stand there and let you attack them.
Hmm.
Now what?
We didn't think beyond the temple.
It's entry.
Yeah, I mean, you have to kill these things if you want to, you know, accomplish the goal.
Sentry's going to say, I'm going to banish the horse of the archer.
I'm going to step out 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 feet.
As soon as you stepped outside, Sentry, the rider does the exact same
thing it did to Quill, where they
ready their actions, basically. They moved
away, readied an action, and then
they're just going to charge forward.
Actually, no, because they had to use
their action to go into the Theraplane, so they can't do that
this round. They can just move up to you, though,
but they can't attack you.
Okay, so carry on.
I don't get my reaction.
I missed it.
I forgot that they have to use an action to enter and exit the material plane.
Okay, I'm gonna cast Banish on the archer's horse.
Okay.
That's for Charisma's Clave 16 to pass.
So this is on the horse, yes?
Yeah. And the Ghostly Steed.
Charisma saving throw is a 15.
Did you minus the slow?
Oh, wait, that's on X.
Slow wouldn't affect its saving throws.
All right.
The Nightmare, or the Ghostly Steed, is banished.
Cool.
Nice.
You just watch it.
It dissipates
into kind of ghostly mist, green mist.
The archer kind of falls down, falls prone on the ground.
Um.
Cool.
Um, and then...
I'm gonna bonus action, uh, get Starbreaker ready.
Um.
And then, uh, 30 feet back into the temple,
and then get ready to attack him next time.
Okay. Aayla.
Okay.
I'm gonna kind of do the same thing that Sentry did, go out here, and then I will throw the hammer.
Five, ten, fifteen, sixteen, eighteen, sixteen, eighteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, him. Oh, yeah, because it's the first attack against the archers, so you do have advantage. You should have given us each a door.
Well, good news.
It's all door.
It's all door.
The windows are doors.
In between the windows.
16 plus 14 to hit.
That is a hit.
It's a hit.
And that is going to be
oh my god I forgot my bonuses are god
it's been too long so oh sorry I forgot
to rage at start my turn can I rage well
you've already take this time so no
you've already made the attack roll but
net you can rage at the after the attack
yeah I remember I remember to do it So, no, you've already made the attack roll, but you can rage after the attack, yeah.
Um... Gotta remember. Gotta remember to do it first.
I forgot how to do fucking anything.
That's okay.
I don't know what my bonus is.
I guess...
It's just the weapon plus the lightning.
13 total.
13 damage then, because it's not got rage.
14 points.
And plus... Total 13 damage then, because it's not got rage. Uh, and plus, uh...
These guys do have some lightning resistance, so...
13 lightning damage.
13, so half that would be six.
Hammer flies through, strikes into the rider, who is prone as well.
The lightning arcs over their body, doesn't have as much of an effect, but the hammer
still thumps in, causing a heavy blow, and then snaps back to your hand.
Yep.
That's that.
That's it?
Okay.
And then you move back in as well?
I will rage.
Yeah. And then move back in as well I will rage And then move back in
Can't function
The hunter without his steed
Will basically
He's gonna
Basically run behind the trees
And use the trees as cover
In fact you know I'll leave him
Visible but
Line of sight blocked hopefully
Yeah and just basically runs For cover gets behind a tree I'll leave him visible, but he's line of sight blocked, hopefully.
Yeah, just basically runs for cover, gets behind a tree,
and then is going to ready their action.
Okay.
Lucius.
Lucius, as he's flying, is going to quicken a spell of Chromatic Orb, allows me to do as a bonus action I'm
gonna dash so that I can really fly up into the air Chromatic Orb down as soon
as I see him beyond the tree and then fly back in really fast okay as soon as
you fly up and as soon as you get visual sight on him, he sees you, his ready to action goes off and he shoots you
before your spell goes off.
All right, this is from this hunter,
and this is just with a normal attack with a bow.
Oh, two. So it's a miss, I think, still.
That's going to be 11 to hit for the arrow flies past and then the Chromatic Orb.
Hell yeah.
Miss.
All right.
Chromatic Orb is going to be at fifth level.
I should have announced that before.
That's fine.
All right.
Here we go.
You said you were casting it and then I interrupted the reaction.
Fuzzy dice go.
21.
21 hits. hell yeah uh okay
78 here we come fuzzy up 37 hold on uh check for ones and twos 37 ding dong the witch is dead right seven points which old witch the the what is it acid or cold
uh i'm going for acid please okay acid the orange light kind of splashes over the creature you can
see it's kind of uh leather coat and and hat begin to kind of like burn and sizzle um still
pointing its bow up at you looks injured but again it's hard to tell with these things because
they're undead nature just how badly hurt they are.
Well, let's injure it more with some Dicromancy.
Ten points.
I guess I could...
Ten points? Now, you said you...
You dash, you said you wanted to get up,
so you moved out, so you would have gone five, ten, fifteen.
And then... Yeah, if you go on 5 and 15 and then yeah if you go up dash when flying is 120 feet right
yeah so you got 15 but i'm just thinking because if you want movement to get back as well um
so yeah if he went 60 feet out he is 30 feet away from it yeah which I think would be about moving to about there. So that was 15.
So that's another
60 feet, so that's like 75.
So you have
25...
45 feet of movement left.
Of which I will
go back inside.
Well, you can't. It's not enough.
No, he had 120 feet.
Yeah, he also had to move 15 feet to get out of the temple. He was 15 feet from the doorway.
Was I? Okay.
Um, I will not Dicromancy then. I will just retreat from my...
Well, the Dicromancy doesn't affect how much damage, like your movement speed.
Oh.
You have 120 feet of movement.
It doesn't if you didn't go out far enough to dichromancy.
Yeah, it's 15 feet of movement to get out of the temple, then you 60 feet to get within
30 feet of range.
Oh, I see.
So you're saying...
It's 90 feet of range for Chromatic Orb.
Right, so you could have just gone like to here instead and then you can dash back in.
Okay.
Yeah.
So we won't do the Dichromancy damage then.
Yes.
Yeah, if I were Dichromancied,
I would have used any excess movement
to get within 30 foot of range,
but if that's too much to move, then I won't.
The thing is, you wouldn't have known that before
you move back though like would lucius have just flown out to get the dichromancy off and then
you would move back and realize you didn't have enough movement or is that meta gaming a little
bit to say well oh well i didn't have enough movement to get back i'm not gonna do that
oh well it's fine we'll just go with it for now it's fine yeah i'd rather just straight up not do
it yeah in the future if you say like i'm gonna move out to dichromancy like you should measure Yeah, I'd rather just straight up not do it. Yeah.
In the future, if you say, like,
I'm going to move up to Dicromancy,
you should measure the distance beforehand and be like, right, that's 15 feet of movement.
Now I'm going to move up here.
I shall do that.
Yeah.
I am the most anti-meta game there can be.
I know. I know you are.
I was just like, in my head, I was just like,
okay, let's figure this out
because it's kind of a complicated fight.
Nobody's injured.
Rosemeadow literally won't step outside unless you tell her to
because I don't think she's going to put that risk on anybody.
No one's injured, so quill.
Cool. I want to...
Do I want to go out again?
Sure.
I'll stand here in range of Sentry's protection
and I want to ready a banish
on the other rider's horse.
Okay.
So you start casting a banish spell?
Yeah. And you concentrate on that.
The moment he shows up again.
Sure.
Also I'm dancing in front of the door like, ooh, come cut my head off.
Ooh, look at me.
Come get me.
Uh-oh.
It'll happen.
Ooh.
We know birds lose their head in our campaigns, so.
They do.
But yeah, I want to stop him from warping around into the ethereal.
Sure.
To banish that horse. Stop him from warping around into the ethereal. Sure.
Banish that horse.
Should have prepared a token for this really.
Do-do-do.
Or…
This horse?
Temporarily.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
What's like…
Let's use this for now. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Um, what's like...
Let's use this for now.
What's happening?
What's coming?
Yeah, this one.
We'll use this for now.
In fact, let me see roughly where they would land.
Ooh.
Land?
Uh...
I'll say sort wonder if they got a friend no no no master Oh created no Celebrimbor what
why
Celebrimbor everyone loves Celebrimbor
um
excuse the token
uh Quill
um everyone actually
you do see a flash of light
you see like almost like a beam of light
come down from the sky
just behind where that archer is.
Okay.
So we don't see what it is.
I guess...
Action B, use that.
They've done that, so they know that that's there.
They've done that.
Yeah.
Okay.
Nova Vija okay a flash of light right nice I think yeah not
knowing where the other rider is I will do and also because I'm concentrating hard on not dropping my friends out of the
sky, it's going to be a cheeky little pop out. Get attacked by the one who's ready to
action? No? Okay.
I'm already acting. It's true.
Yeah, that's true. And then, yeah, Eldritch Blast, classic, simple, perspective.
So your line of sight, because it would go through the tree, they're currently like,
basically they've got full cover behind the tree from where you currently are.
So if I go to the left?
You need to get into a position where, like, you can...
No, it can't go through the middle of the tree.
You have to basically come at it from, like, this sort of angle.
So at the moment,
like, he's basically... The archer is
hidden behind, like, a pretty big tree
and you don't have any line of sight to them.
You can't see them through behind this tree.
Lucius could only see them because he was flying
up in the air and he flew directly to the side okay uh i'm gonna cast synaptic static then which a point within range
um and it causes psychic damage energy to explode there so 20 foot centered on where
um poo poo faces you you vaguely think the archer is. Sure.
Yeah. Okay.
Yeah.
So anything that is...
Yeah, 20 foot range of that.
It is an intelligence saving throw.
All right.
Please.
DC 18.
That is a failure.
15.
Okay.
Um, so he will take 24 points of
psychic damage
and is also muddled.
Which is
the minus.
Yeah, you roll a d6, subtract that roll
from your attack rolls and ability checks and
constitution saving throws to save
concentration.
If you can remember that for me and just remind me whenever I make
an attack with them.
Yes, boss.
Yeah, and then I guess
I'll just
smoozy on back into
the door next to a window.
All right. And see what happens
next.
Okay.
The timing of this guy is kind of annoying as his mount goes after him I keep forgetting that they've got legendary
resistance actually Oh the horses do no not the horses. Like against that
muddling I could have done a legendary assistance.
Oh well.
Alright, well I guess on this guy's turn
the only thing he can really do is
ready an action.
Quill,
some stuff is going to happen that's going to
kick off for you.
I'm ready to kick
off. So yeah, as expected the rider who was in the ethereal plane,
the ghostly steed charges forward in the ethereal plane,
appears before you, your banishment goes off
because that was the triggering thing as soon as it appeared.
Nice. That means the horse makes a charisma 21 save.
Yeah. Charisma, I'm pretty sure it actually...
Oh, it can succeed on a 19.
It does not.
Vroosh.
Le horse.
Le banish.
Horse down.
The ghostly seed of the sword-wielding rider
now vanishes as well.
The rider technically would have been
riding at the front anyway.
The rider falls from it, but his ready to action is also still going to go off as well.
So as he's falling, he swipes at you with the sword.
He swore off with his head.
Action for a quill, so disadvantage.
19 and 1.
19 from there.
19 and 1. 19 from there. And 19 and 1.
So yeah, again,
Century just kind of like steps out momentarily
and blocks it as the sword clashes again
and sparks flying all over you.
Impenetrable.
Impenetrable.
The horse is down as well,
so he ain't going anywhere now.
Well, yep.
Pretty much.
And that was his readied action.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Sentry.
All right.
Sentry's going to step forward
and, yeah, start attacking this guy with Starbreaker.
We'll make two attacks against him,
see if he'll play.
Yep.
Well, first one, let's go.
25 for the first attack. That is hit star breaker charges forward it's not souped up though yet is it star break is just in normal form it is souped up by that
sorry i'm doing a million things i missed it okay cool that's all good you got a lot of
stories that's all good all right so i'm going to do a level 3 Divine Smite against this guy.
Jesus Christ, this is fucking hell.
Smite him!
2d12.
Oh no, and actually he's undead, so it's an extra d8.
Extra d8 as well, yeah.
Woo!
Okay, incoming.
Just a million dice.
52 damage for the first one, so I get a plus 7 as well.
Okay.
So is that 45?
45, but 52 total because I've got a plus 7.
Yep.
So the lance just burrs a hole through this guy's chest cavity,
ripping it apart.
Fucking paladins, man.
Another one, please!
I'll just do that again.
26 to hit for the second time.
Alright, I'll do another level 3.
Can I hit four times?
Uh...
I'll go one, two...
I think that's... yeah.
The green energy begins trailing off as you rear back, I'll go onto... I think that's... Yep. What is this?
The green energy begins trailing off as you rear back,
plunge the lance in for a second time.
35 for the next one.
35 points of damage for the next one.
These two, like, gaping wounds ripping through the hunter
as the power of Starbreaker kind of erupts outwards from it.
Still standing, though, however.
Okay. Then I'll step back
and end my turn there, please.
Okay. At the end
of your turn, Sentry,
the swordsman
is going to use their legendary actions
to use Headhunter
against Quill.
Make an attack with advantage.
No disadvantage. Well, he does. He rolls a three. headhunter against quill uh i make an attack with advantage uh no no disadvantage no no
well he does he rolls a three three you're gonna portent it okay yes i am makes sense absolutely
yeah absolutely this could have been super bad uh so yeah it doesn't hit that's one of them
we could have rolled actually i need to uh what would Sorry? Oh, no, we won't know.
Does the 12 hit?
No, it doesn't.
Okay. I wanted to check, just in case.
No. Roll it.
Absolutely not. No. Roll it.
The community name is Interesting Taylor.
Hello.
I will pop out here and smash this guy in the face, please.
Okay.
Pile on.
Get him!
32 to hit.
32 hits.
Nice.
And I'm raging now, thank goodness.
Yeah, I think this guy's done.
By the time Ayla has finished whacking,
I think this guy will, at least his first form will be done.
18 from the hammer.
Normal.
And an additional six lightning.
And then second attack.
15 plus 14, 29 to hit.
That's a hit, yep.
21 from the hammer damage.
Right, you don't need to roll anything more,
because as the hammer strikes the second time,
the corporeal form of this hunter erupts.
There is a ghostly wail, kind of echoes through the woods,
but this green spectral version of the hunter still remains.
But now the sword still seems to be corporeal.
Whereas before, like the whole thing became spectral.
Now this black long sword seems to almost be the focus of this spirit.
And yeah, he regains a certain amount of hit points
automatically.
Oh, and the wolves.
And you hear the howling of three hounds.
Oh, woo!
Ghost wolves, right?
And 22 lightning damage from my aura,
which will be half.
That will be after it, yeah,
and that gets halved, so 11 points.
But that's after he's already taken his form,
so yeah, it does work.
Yeah, these three hounds appear.
The hounds all immediately act.
So we will do...
Oh, bums.
Why...
Sorry, guys, I'm having technical problems again.
No, you're all good.
Please don't tell me it's the best form.
It was right. These are... Yeah, they are technically undead. technical problems again no you're good please these are me as he goes for was
right I'm in these are yeah they are technically undead nice they ain't
coming in either yeah this is a person temple not a dog are they dog temples yeah
temples
temples
so the hounds act
immediately
on their appearance
so we're going to have two attack
Ayla and one attack Quill
I was going to move back into the temple at the end of my turn
so
yeah these guys appear and attack as soon as you drop the guide to zero hit points,
which has already happened.
So two of them are going to get attacks on you, but then you can jump back in.
So we'll do the ones against Ayla.
This is going to be the Putrid Bite and the Savage Bite against Ayla.
Uh...
Probably.
That is going to be a, sorry, 16 to hit, which I believe is a miss.
And then the Putrid Bite is also going to be a miss.
Both of these hounds, these ghostly hounds gnashing at you.
And then the Tracking Bite is against Quill.
Oh, that's the bad one.
That's only a seven to hit though.
Rolling really bad. I had that natural 20 and now that's the bad one. That's only a seven to hit though. Rolling really bad.
Had that natural 20 and now that's it.
The hounds all like, nash away, no strikes hit.
Ayla then moves back and that's the end of your turn, right Ayla?
Yeah.
Okay.
The archer is going to use their legendary actions
and use all three to perform head hunt,
which allows him to move his speed.
15, 20, 30.
And then he shoots at Quill.
Heartbreaker.
He rolls a one.
I am not getting...
I mean, if they're going to headhunt and heartseek me,
I'm going to get rid of those.
You're the only target they can hit.
You're the only target they can hit.
A reaction to do that.
Let's have a look.
That was my question.
You can do these before...
No, it's just I can do it before the roll.
If it doesn't say, then you can use it as many times as you like,
but they're gone now.
They're gone now, which is...
You see this flash quill of this arrow firing towards you,
and you use that momentum to kind of throw yourself to the side
as the arrow plunges into the temple background behind you.
Okay.
Yeah, it's pretty scary.
That was the end of Aayla's turn.
Both of the ghostly steeds are still banished.
Now it's the archer's actual go and he's going to shoot twice at you.
But normal attacks. Okay.
I mean, you're the only one
I can hit. Two, miss.
Amazing. Nearly
20 again as well.
They're fumbling. Oh, that might actually hit though.
17 to hit.
It does and
I'll let it hit me.
No, I won't. I will let it hit me.
I won't, actually. I'll shield it.
Okay, right. You shield it, so...
Gone.
So, magical shield, that's your reaction.
As it bounces off.
Oh, my God.
I can't lose concentration on the banish.
All right.
I can see him through the window, right?
You can, but don't forget nothing can pass through it.
You have to step outside.
Well, I did the...
You can do slow. That's true.
You can do anything that doesn't physically pass through, yes.
I'm going to try and dominate monster.
Okay.
Wisdom saving throw, please.
You don't need to. Immune to being charmed.
So, does not work, I believe.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Dominate monster.
Probably a charm, right?
I think it is.
The creature is charmed by you for the duration, so yes.
Unfortunately, you try and conjure it,
but there is no mind there to take the grip of
that there is pure rage and spirit and nothing for you to dominate and control that's fair
yeah uh okay undead creature a lot of undead creatures are immune to being charmed unfortunately
uh that's my go okay uh these are his hounds Rose meadows go Rose meadow will do do do do
do you know what he's gonna take a leap out of everyone's book oh she can't
actually physically fit she's too big now I can't really do anything I can't really do anything. I can't reach. I'm sorry. She's stood behind Aayla in the sentry.
Yeah, that doesn't trigger. She can't do that. She can't do that.
She will...
Bleh.
She will actually reach over Aayla's shoulder and touch Quill
and cast Enhance Ability for Bear's Endurance
and you get 2d6 temporary hit points, Quill.
Wow, do I roll those or?
Oh, I'll roll them. I'll roll them for Zerazmo.
10, 10 temporary hit points.
Wow. Wow.
And then she sort of just slinks back like,
I'm helping.
Thank you. Amazing.
Quill, your turn.
Thank you. Amazing. Quill, your turn.
I would like to do Arcane Ab- not Arcane, Absturation. Turn Undead.
So basically these four things. I don't think anything else is in range. It's 30 feet.
The Hunter as well, technically.
The Hunter as well. I was thinking the Archer.
They make a Wisdom saving throw. as well technically the hunter as well I was thinking the archer yeah
they make a wisdom
saving throw
19
or DC
okay they can
technically make this
I have to roll pretty high
fail
fail
fail
all three fail
they are all turned
and then finally
the rider himself.
Fail.
All of them are turned.
Anything below a certain combat rating,
which I think is all the wolves as we did last time,
they're destroyed.
Yep.
He just watches these ghostly hounds
just evaporate into green mist, the explosion just as Quill's radiant power surges out.
Amazing.
Ryder is like,
And I guess he's now turned.
Oh, you can legendary resistance him if you wanted to.
Sure.
Thank you.
Okay.
I do. Thanks.
I just know that you got it last time. Sure. Thank you. Okay. I do. Thanks.
I just know that you forgot it last time.
Yeah, I've got a lot going on.
But he will succeed.
I'm going to back up.
I'm going to go back into the temple.
He can probably do an attack on me.
Ooh, he would.
Ooh.
Ooh.
I get an attack of all 20.
If this is the 20, I'm screwed. attack with all my speed.
This is the 20.
I'm screwed. This is the 20.
Oh, my God!
Oh, shit!
You did it, me!
You did it, me!
Oh, no.
You get a saving throw now, right?
Yes.
So, Quill.
Oh, boy. Oh, my God. All um all right hang on give me a second here
yeah you need to make a constitution saving throw quill
does he get any bonuses did you have any buffs or anything
enhance wait hang on enhance ability i think this only affects ability checks
constitution yeah it doesn't affect saving throws Wait, hang on. Enhancibility. I think this only affects ability checks.
Yeah, it doesn't affect saving throws.
You don't have any potents. Wait, so what am I doing? No, I used them all.
Even then it was one and a three.
Constitution. Saving throw.
Oh, I've only got a plus two. Oh, fuck!
I don't want to click it, you know?
Do you have a plus three for me, if that's any help?
It goes up to a plus five total.
Well, I'm rolling with a plus two.
Oh my God.
Okay.
So 16.
Plus another three from Sentry is 16.
So Quill, you're going to take some damage here.
The blade connects with your neck and as you turn around, it scrapes along
and leaves this incredibly jagged life-sucking wound
that nearly cuts through.
It's such a deep jugular cut, but Sentry,
there's something, Sentry's aura maybe,
Sentry, I'm thinking here, like the matrix,
you like get a sense and you grab Quill
and pull him towards you as it like,
just before it severs his head entirely.
Jesus Christ.
Fucking Christ.
I can't believe it.
I can't believe it.
What was the save on that?
Was it a 15?
I'm not going to say.
I'm not going to say what it was.
I'll say afterwards.
I'll say after this fight.
Sentry has protected me so many times in this fight.
Yes, yes.
You're doing my job. There's no way it's not like
13 wouldn't have done it, I don't think.
You still take
how much of that?
Dice go away. I can't see how much damage
that is. 32.
32 plus 5. 37 points
of necrotic damage, Quill.
As this blade like
rips through your jugular and your neck.
But yeah, Sentry manages to save you
before it cuts your fucking head off.
Okay, horse is back.
Oh, yeah.
You can make that save, I think.
37 halved.
No, I did. I rolled. Oh, I think. 37 halved. No, I did.
I rolled 14.
Oh, you failed.
Okay.
So the ghostly steed.
13, sorry.
You banished the archer's horse?
No, it was the other one.
The other one?
Oh, my God.
Oh, Christ.
No, I'm not all right.
I've got some further bad news, Quill. That was theiggin' survived a 20 from a vorpal sword.
I've got some further bad news, Quill.
That was the end of your turn, right? So you're done.
I'm in the temple though, I'm not leaving.
Yeah, no, that's fine.
You see something.
You all see something emerging.
Oh no.
Oh no no no no no no no no.
Bertie, you can just about see her through the tree line.
You see a woman in a red dress with bladed metal wings.
We can't win that.
And dark hair.
You can see that there are parts of her,
like there are parts of her body that have broken away
and you can see like ice form,
like chunks of her torso, her shoulder, her face. have broken away and you can see like ice form.
Like chunks of her torso, her shoulder, her face have like, literally it's almost like a chunk of snow
has been like ripped out of it basically.
And it's left this kind of icy material left.
The hair is kind of disarrayed.
There's no wounds,
but you can see these like chunks of missing body parts and you can just see like power radiating off of her
as this Zahkira, as far as you can tell.
Yeah, it's like marching towards the battle.
Oh God.
She looks up, she points in your direction
and she basically is like no more hiding and a
beam of black light and disintegrates the temple yeah the one person who has a
disintegration rate the thing is like that is a spell that she always has prepared.
I would like to counterspell if possible.
Oh, are you in range, Lucius Virionello in El Anastar?
Actually, yeah.
Crap, where is she?
You are not in range, sir.
I will check range on Disintegrate, actually,
because I assumed it was enough.
60 foot for counter spell
Yeah, yeah
I'm gonna check disintegrate there cause it's a touch
No, it's not
Great one is dis
Tech great D-I-S. Great.
Disintegrate range. 60 foot.
Oh, you know what?
60 foot.
So if she doesn't cast that, she would have to dash.
I should have checked that.
I thought that was a lot further.
I thought that was 120 foot on disintegrate.
Okay.
So that is, she still has that then.
Okay.
She will cast a spell has that then. Okay.
She will cast a spell on herself then.
She surrounds herself in a shimmering globe.
She's walking towards you.
Like she's moving closer and closer to the temple.
She used dash.
She's walking menacingly.
Really quick though.
She's not dashing.
She casted this spell.
Okay.
Nova Vija.
Oh, dear.
Oh, dear.
Oh, dear.
There's a lot of things happening.
A lot of things changed my plans up.
Is this the start of a new round?
This is a brand new round. It's 8 o'clock.
That's a good point then, actually.
It might be a good point before, as a pre-epic.
Yeah, the other thing I will say about this Zarkira,
just before we round up,
there's no stream afterwards as well,
because they're doing it on their own channels.
You notice that this Zarkira does look...
She's dressed differently to the one that attacked the Stormchaser that one time.
Her robes are just...
It's like a different cut of robe, like a different style of dress.
And she's wearing a pair of braces with...
Actually, just a single bracer with a large amethyst stone in it.
But you can tell that this is a different
Zarkira simulacrum to the one that attacked Stalgen.
Is it the one that was on the Starbane ship? Was it that one?
It would be the one that was on the Starbane ship, yes. It would be the same one.
Oh yeah, because I feel like I'd seen all three of them together as well at one point
when I was counting. Yeah, and you did.
You saw three of them together,
and they were all dressed slightly differently.
Well, you actually saw the real Zarkira and then two Simulacrums,
and the two Simulacrums were dressed differently.
And you fought one of the Simulacrums and destroyed one as well, I believe.
So you know that they have got one.
Because I destroyed one on her. that they have got one. We did destroy one. Because I took a Crashtape of her.
Yes, on Gustaven.
On Gustaven we got her.
You know that like, you can see where the snow, like, you saw that one melt into snow
when you defeated it before. This one looks like it's been injured. Like this simulacrum
looks like it's been in battle and has taken wounds. And that's where these missing chunks
of snow have come from.
Hmm.
Maybe trying to get into the Feywild?
Maybe.
But that's it.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Good point, Katie.
That's a good point to kind of leave it on a nice cliffhanger.
Yeah, I mean, we know that she can disintegrate.
She could get rid of this temple at any point.
Yeah, man, fuck.
I really thought that was a range of 120.
I really should have checked it, but I was like, oh, it disintegrates.
It's like loads of range.
No, it's only 60.
Holy shit, that 20.
That fuck dude.
I can't believe as well that you were like, oh yeah, I guess you can.
Yeah, you get an effect on two.
Yeah, it won't happen.
If you don't go with 20, I was just like, I can't believe it.
But man, well, that's the second natural 20 against me
because Sentry protected one away.
Protected you against one.
And protected a 19 and gave me the saving throw.
Everybody else was like jumping in and out.
You were the only one who was out long enough
for me to actually make attacks against.
Everyone else was like in and out, in and out.
I knew I had to get rid of the horse
so they can't go into the ethereal
realm over and over i can't talk that almost killed me i think you almost natural 20 me
i almost died yeah when when i saw that holy craft carved your heart out
yeah with a spoon it's not over yet let's not say never because it's not over yet
over yet let's not say never because it's not over yet uh yeah you know again it's uh you know don't it's not as bad as you think you know it's uh it's not the real it's not the real one it's
not the real one how about quill's neck i i would not waste the real zarkira on a fight like this
the real zarkira will wait saved when we're in the studio
because I have miniatures that I've been dying to use
for a while
you have a Zarkira mini
