Welcome Welcome back to Aroas.
The champions have set off into astral space,
accompanied by their allies to take to the final fight against Hadar,
the Red Star, the entropic god of consumption.
Accessing the sub-plane travel space called the Infinite Staircase,
the Stormchaser and the other ships in the fleet make for the Broken Veil,
a warfront that has been the staging ground for the conflict between Calus Valkyrian and Hadar for thousands of years.
Here, the champions will meet with the rest of the Valkyrian fleet and make a desperate assault to reach the plane of Entropis,
a world where the breach point into
Hadar's prison can be found.
During their time in the Infinite Staircase, Kelek-Ad-Kalar attempted to use the oracle
powers of his Eye of the Storm to learn more about what awaited them.
With one use of the Eye, Quill learned more about the world of Entropis and Hadar's connection
to it, but with another, he attempted to scry on the whereabouts of
Zahkira, a powerful mage and former friend of Calus Valkyrian, now turned traitor and
corrupted by Hadar. Zahkira, using some unknown power, laid a magical trap for Quill, triggered
when he attempted to use the Eye to ask about her. The magical trap destroyed Quill's
Eye and nearly did something far worse, but was interrupted
by a quick-thinking sentry who used magic to protect Quill from possession and severing
the connection.
Without any time to really recover from this event, the storm chaser was pulled out of
the infinite staircase and into a desperate astral space battle as the forces of Hadar
have aggressively struck against the Valkyrian fleets they were meeting with. Three vessels, an abominant bio-ship and two corrupted Valkyrian cruisers
bear down on the Storm Chaser as the rest of their allies fend off similar attacks of their own.
With help arriving in the form of Thalia and the twin star Longbow, the champions still need to
defeat their foes and aid the valkyrian fleets and that
my friends is where we are going to pick up today hell yeah as a quick reminder and especially for
our podcast listeners you are currently aboard the storm chaser in astral space there is an
enormous space battle going on around you ships your own, your own allied ships, Valkyrian ships, are fighting
all around you. Imagine that the sky is filled with the color and magic of combat and warfare
going on around you as the ships maneuver and make their way through space. On the deck of the ship,
at the back near the command console, we have Quill and Oriah currently fending off two Hadar
spawn that were launched from the bio ship
onto the Storm Chaser with Nova coming up the stairs behind to try and aid Quill specifically.
Down on the main deck Lucius, Lantian, one of your NPC crew, Kamara, Sentry, Aayla and several
members of the Wolfpack are all in position. The Wolfpack currently fighting trying to fire their
weapons at one of the nearby ships the rest of you dealing with more hadar spawn on the deck
and then finally at the very front of the ship near the main cannon is your uh marksman penny
uh who is currently being assaulted by two of these hadar minions um we have howard i believe
down uh downstairs and we are about to begin on the top of a new round.
One quick thing that I did forget to mention
at the very end of the last round
is Penny would have taken a little bit more damage.
I forgot to attack her with the current minions.
She is looking pretty injured.
These two are basically, she is in the seat,
she's trying to fend them off,
but she is outnumbered,
and she is not a close-range combatant.
She is more used to not being in the front line of fighting, but she is outnumbered, and she is not a close-range combatant.
She is more used to not being in the front line of fighting,
so she is looking quite badly injured at this point.
Wait, where is Lucius?
Oh, Lucius fell down.
He fell off the stairs. He had a fall.
But also, we are in a cone of anti-magic as well, right?
Yes.
Well, not Lucius. He's out of it.
So at the moment, the command console, and this is a very good point,
the control console where the navigator and the pilot
control the Storm Chaser is currently disabled
as one of these Hadar spawn, a Doomstrider,
a sort of elongated horse-like creature
with a big opening sort of mouth-like face
that has this just black void in its in its uh jaw uh is disabling all magic in a cone
as it faces towards quill and the command console um it is looking quite injured that doomstrider
but whilst it is active uh that that console is not functioning um and we're gonna begin the round
uh we are technically gonna begin the century but you see uh the storm chaser without
anyone to control the storm chaser it is just resuming its previous course the last like sort
of actions that raya took it is just heading in a straight line ahead and you can see that in mere
moments you will be entering a heavy debris field of previously wrecked astral ships,
as well as Hadar spawn.
Okay, oh good.
You can see that these are colossal Valkyrian cruisers
that have been ripped and torn apart.
Very several sections of the ships
are floating adrift in astral space,
creating this immense field of wreckage and debris.
That will cause significant harm to the Storm Chaser
if it collides with the ship.
And Oriya will call out like,
Captain, we're sitting ducks.
We can't control it.
We need to get the Storm Chaser moving.
As you can see, the enemy ships are also taking advantage
of the Storm Chaser, no longer able to throw them off
and maneuver around them.
They are moving into advantageous positions
to try and strike back.
One of the ships has been temporarily disabled by the twin star but the other two are moving
in to take advantage of this situation um is the twin star looking like it's going to be sticking
around for a bit or is that it does but it is making strafing runs it is having to like you
know it's just attacked one of you've got these two valkyrian cruisers you can see that one of
them there are explosions and sort of like obviously it's having attacked one of these two Valkyrian cruisers. You can see that one of them, there are explosions,
and obviously it's having some sort of problem
after it's just been barraged by fire.
The Twin Star is turning around.
I will tell you, mechanically,
the Twin Star is going to basically make one attack per turn,
which will cause significant damage to one of these ships.
But you don't really have any control of that right now.
The other problem with the main command console being knocked out,
you have no communications with other vessels right now.
That's okay, because it's blocked out all the screaming.
Yes.
And Century, we're going to start with you at the top of the round.
Whilst you have these two kind of humanoid Hadar spawn,
red skin, distended mouths,
they just don't appear to be rational thinking creatures.
They are sort of just these abominations of madness.
Whilst you are within a certain reach of them,
you do currently have a minus two penalty
to all attacks, saving throws, and ability checks.
These things almost just seem to like make the world
and the air around you heavier,
makes you feel more sluggish and slow.
You hear like whispering in your mind
and sort of causing these other sort of issues
going on around you.
Okie dokie.
And we'll have Quill on deck after.
So remind me again, is it a bonus action to command?
Yeah, I think that's the way I'm gonna play.
It's like if it's a simple enough command,
it's a bonus action.
If you wanna do it to two different groups,
there would be an action as well to do it.
So it would be a bonus action,
then an action if you want to do it to somebody else.
Can I bonus action command the wolf pack
to shoot the horse creature
that's on the top deck at the rear of the ship?
Absolutely you can, absolutely you can.
So you call out, so essentially, yeah,
or you just kind of say like,
fire on that creature up there.
Yeah, just get that monster off our ship.
Okay, nice.
In that case, I'll have you roll for the wolf pack then, please.
Okay.
And this is going to be...
I'm just trying to find the steps again.
Can you roll a d20?
It's only a plus four to hit.
They are better at shooting ships
than they are at shooting creatures.
11 total.
11 total.
So because there's,'s like massed fire,
I'm just going to have this do half damage.
So like most of them do miss,
but maybe a couple of them kind of get like glancing shots.
So this is going to be 1d10 plus four,
but then halved.
Alrighty.
To the Doomstrider.
Two.
Plus four.
Plus four, so eight, four.
Six. Would be, four. Six.
Six.
What did you roll on the D10?
I rolled a four on a D10.
Oh, okay.
So then D10 plus four, so eight.
So half to back down to four.
All right, got it.
So they do turn around and they whip their rifles around.
Oh, sorry, they get two attacks because there's six of them currently.
So you get to do that again.
Roll again.
D20 again.
Yeah, you get basically one attack per three Wolfpack members.
Ten.
That's still going to be half damage.
So D10 plus four.
Going to be one of those days.
That's a three this time.
Three total.
Yeah.
Or three plus four, seven halved.
So back down to three.
Back down to three.
So they do turn around and both kind of sets of Wolfpack,
they turn around, take a kneel,
they take out their Magitek rifles to fire up,
but this creature is very agile, nimble,
and almost seems to sense the attacks coming.
They do get a couple of glancing hits, but not enough to.
Like Matrix.
Yeah, kind of.
I don't suppose it having its mouth open
is a concentration.
It is not.
Yeah.
It just chooses where to face.
Have you ever seen me ever say? It is currently focusing It just chooses where to face. Have you ever seen the other thing?
Yeah.
There ain't nothing breaking that concentration.
That was a bonus action.
If I do Destructive Wave from where I am, can I hit the two horrors that are attacking Penny. 30 feet.
25, 30.
No, you need to move 10 feet towards Penny.
I'll risk it for a biscuit.
To the front of the ship.
So this will be one, two attacks of opportunity.
Yeah, that's fine.
As you move to the very edge of the staircase,
risking two attacks from these minions.
I need dice.
Would that then hit?
Oh, you definitely need dice! Fuck.
Wow.
I'm unprepared!
This is acceptable.
Yeah, this is acceptable.
I think.
Did that feel good?
That felt quite cathartic.
It was a bit deafening.
What is the difference is, Chris Trott,
is that my dice are literally just here and not at home.
Right here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that looks great.
What's the destructive wave?
Literally everything in the area.
Everything in 30 feet.
Okay.
So you would probably get that.
I might get the big boy.
The big boy as well.
25, 30.
No.
I think it's basically all the small minions.
The big stuff are just average.
This Doomstrader should still be in, right?
5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
No, yeah.
Oh, no, it will just clip it, I think.
The first minion will hit with a 21, I believe.
17 con.
Sorry, this is to attack you on my attack opportunity. 21.
And then the second one is a 23,
so I think both of these are gonna hit you.
That is gonna be eight damage from each
of 16 points of damage as they kind of like,
as they strike you.
As you kind of take this moment
to try and run away from them,
they do seem quite nimble.
And then it's con 17. Yep.
All right, I will do one roll for the minions.
Actually, no, I should do this separately
because they are different this time.
I'll do them in groups.
Okay, the two up by Penny,
the two closest to you, Sentry, both fail.
The two closest to Aayla will succeed.
Okay.
And then the Doomstrider DC 17.
Doomstrider unfortunately passes,
so half damage, I believe.
Half damage, okay, cool.
So this is 10 D6 total.
Oh, holy shit, 6, 12, 18, 24, 28,
29, 30, 31, 33 for the first lot,
so that is thunder damage for the first lot.
Oh, man.
11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,
and then 21 radiant in the second.
So 33 thunder, and then 21 radiant.
Yep.
All right, pretty lagging.
So this only really matters to the Doomstrider.
That's gonna be halved, so that's 16 thunder damage, and then 10 radiant damage to the Doomstrider. That's going to be halved. So that's 16 thunder damage
and then 10 radiant damage
to the Doomstrider.
All of the Hadassborn,
even those that succeed on their save,
the damage is more than enough
to cauterize them.
Yes.
Nice move.
Six kills.
Ultra kill.
Sector kill.
Sexy kill.
The boat Nice
So you watch
As these Hadasspa
And these humanoid
Kind of shapes
Are just disintegrated
By this wave of light
That emanates from Sentry
Coating the entire deck
Of the front of the Stormchaser
Very cool
Great stuff
Very cool Got a bit more movement i guess but
yeah um i'll stay in defending that part of the ship for now all right end of turn yeah in that
case we go to uh mr keeler cad collab yep in a anti-magic uh and you're good at that right right
next to uh a big boy a very large lad where could i move to get out of this cone of anti-magic?
Could I...
Because Lucius is out.
Is Nova currently out as well?
I'm basically saying that it's currently coating this entire kind of like...
Yeah.
You could maybe move very close to this edge,
but I would say even then it's probably just going to...
I'd say that basically this whole section is...
Yeah, yeah, that's fair.
The whole top deck.
Am I, has this guy got reach as well, this guy I'm next to?
He's very big.
He is a large creature.
He's got one very large arm.
And then he has like seven arms on the other side.
But how big are those tiny arms?
They're bigger than you.
I would say you can easily tell this guy has at least 10 feet of reach.
Yeah, so I'm within range of him.
So I guess I could cycle around him.
Can I jump onto the console and round?
Or is that going to be a whole thing?
Yeah, it'll be an opportunity attack if you try and move away from him.
Does my wing still work?
He would still be in his range, right?
Still be...
Well, if he stays within...
If you stay within 10 feet of him.
That's the thing.
I'm going to swing around him, basically,
so that I'm kind of flying in the middle gap here.
So I'm out of the cone.
You're still within 10 feet of him.
So, like, hovering up here?
Yeah.
And I need to figure out who to go for, though,
because he is pretty nasty, but we need the ship back.
We need the ship back more than...
Um, thank you.
So yeah, you are currently 10 feet, so in terms of gaming purposes you are within 10 feet of that creature.
Yeah, so I'm slightly lower than that.
And I want to do a, where is it? I want to do Thunder Wave.
Thunder Wave on the horse dog mouth creature.
So, I believe that this thing is here.
Even though I've kind of positioned it, I can't keep it on where it's located.
So it's currently on the stairs.
So that is a 15-foot cube.
I think that's okay because Lucius is just outside the bottom of the stairs. So that is a 15-foot cube. I think that's okay,
because Lucius is just outside the bottom of the stairs.
Oriah's at the top.
You can angle it so that you don't catch
any of your allies, yes.
And I want to push him, no-ticket style, off this ship.
We've already seen that Lucius,
I think Aayla pushed one off,
and they have this ability to extend their limbs.
So they sort of manage to reach back up.
It's the same one that I pushed off.
He's been in that space already.
Yes.
It does go...
Kick him back out.
Because you pushed him only five feet.
This will push him ten.
So maybe...
I don't know.
Maybe that'll make a difference.
But it has to make a constitution save.
And it doesn't seem very constitution-y to me.
It's pretty beefy.
Most of these creatures have had some sort of...
It's taking a lot of damage. these creatures have had some sort of...
DC what?
18.
21 con save.
Okay, okay.
So it's almost like its flesh, as the thunderous energy hits it,
its flesh kind of undulates like a gelatinous substance.
Like that word.
Yeah.
And then it reforms.
Well, frustratingly, it isn't pushed, but it still takes half damage.
It's up there with Boston.
It is very injured.
Oh, God, it takes, yeah, that's right, two damage.
Whoa.
Is that half already?
That's already half.
Two points of damage.
On 2d8.
There's this wave of force, this concussive force hits it, but does not.
Which one are you hitting?
That was the one right next to you.
No, the Doomstrider. That's why he's moved a bit.
Well, technically, the Doomstrider is on the staircase,
and he's kind of facing up into the command area.
I just, the mini was positioned in a different place,
so I was trying to balance it in its location.
But it's on the staircase behind you.
You are basically wedged between two of these things, Lucius.
Yeah, yeah.
Little sandwich.
Quill, that is some move. Would you like to do anything else?
Yeah, bonus action wise, that was a spell slot,
so I don't have any spells I can use, unfortunately.
You can command one of the crew.
Don't forget, you have Mansoom, Kumara, Penny.
There's also Howard under the deck, who could go near a gun.
He could go on a gun.
You have the turret gun below you. We could go near a gun. He could go on a gun. I'm just wondering if...
You have the turret gun below you.
If I get Araya to continue to press the attack against this thing...
Yeah, you can also have Araya attack.
He needs to go.
No, take it.
Yeah, let's get Araya to continue against this thing
and try and finish it off.
All right, in that case, I'd like to have...
Finish it off after I did the bulk of the work.
Rhi's doing so many rolls today.
Araya is originally Rhi's character,
so I'd rather have her redo it.
If you can roll, I believe it was...
Was it plus eight last time?
This will get you a net 20.
Plus eight.
19.
Oh!
It's going to hit with her longsword.
So this is gonna be a d8 plus five.
I think she has multi-attack as well, right?
She does, yeah. She gets to make multiple attacks.
That was a one.
She's slightly different to how she was as a PC.
Sure. So six.
So six points of damage.
Yeah.
And then she makes a second attack with her sword.
So d20 plus eight.
It's prime for an at 20.
18.
Hits.
All right. Plus eight.
Could you do that on one of my dice, please?
Seven that time.
Is that with the plus five?
No.
So 12 points of damage.
And then finally she gets to make an attack with a pistol.
Oh, nice.
But this is only d20 plus five.
Magic tech. Yes, this is magic tech.
17?
17 total, or is that just another roll?
Total.
Just hits.
Does magic tech still work in the field?
It has a reduced effect because it is partial technology, partial magic.
Nice.
So is that a d8?
That is a pistol is d10 that only plus 3
oh
oh
that is 9 total
9 total
so with that
final pistol bow
kind of Arius
swings forward
first cut
strikes into it
causes it to rear up
exposing this
grotesque mouth
down its torso
she shoves the blade
into that mouth
causing it to kind of
like scutter back blood begins pouring out of it and then she just shoves the blade into that mouth, causing it to kind of like scutter back.
Blood begins pouring out of it,
and then she just shoves the pistol into its mouth.
And then you can see that the anti-magic
is kind of sapping some of its power,
but there's enough there to kind of cause a blast of force
and just something bursts out of its eyes and ears.
As Oriah finishes the Doomstrike.
Nice one.
Very annoying.
Control is back.
Control does resume back.
However, that was Orion's action this turn.
She will not be able to pilot the ship this round.
Oh.
But she does begin, she can basically move back into position.
Yeah.
But she will not be able to pilot this turn.
Roger that.
Okay.
Somebody else can pilot.
Yeah, that's true.
I can certainly try.
They can certainly try.
They can fucking try. Good luck to them.
I'm going to mount the Doomstrider.
Yeah.
That'll go well.
Ride it to the console.
Ayla.
I thought you were just going to ride it through space.
Into space.
I'm going to run up to the next Doomstrider, please.
Run along the deck of the ship.
Into the middle.
What I would like to do is first blast it bonus action with my lightning then hit it and
then kick it off okay so that's how i want to use my does that work yeah yeah okay if you want to
kick it off you would need to basically like move around yeah that's fine i've got enough movement
to do that yeah you do um so you move in
front of it uh side of it deck save from it for my lightning saving throw uh that is a nine
25 lightning oh my god five points of fighting damage six just you watch the
art lightning arc over this creature,
causing it to like spasm and screech.
Oh, that was a nat 20 and it rolled to a two.
Oh.
Fuck!
I hate dice.
So 17.
17.
Just hits.
Still hits it technically.
Hit on a two.
Plus 15, holy shit.
Okay.
Well, you've got a strength of plus seven.
Yeah.
16 bludgeoning damage.
16 bludgeoning damage.
And then, oh, and my six lightning damage on the hammer.
Excellent, six.
Sixes, and then I will try and eat it. Attack and shove it, yes.
So this is make an attack with a hammer,
see if you hit it, as long as you don't roll a one,
basically.
Seven.
Seven, so now it's you do a d20 plus strength,
you have advantage because you're raging,
and I do the same.
So I got a three, but I can choose to make my strength...
You can make it your strength.
25.
I rolled a natural 20.
25.
Which is only a 24.
Whoa!
I am going to say that with it being a natural 20,
you will shove it out, but it's going to be clinging on to the edge.
That's okay. I just wanted to get that little spicy cold damage
from the astral space, you know?
It's clinging onto the edge of the ship,
but it will immediately take 25 points of cold damage
from being out in astral space.
Nice.
Goddamn.
And that is my turn?
That is a big turn.
That's a turn.
Right.
As this is all happening,
and you can see that now having,
with Sentry's destructive wave,
with the Doomstripes being slowly taken out of the ship
and slowly being killed,
there is this moment where there is only really one threat left on,
one of the death manglers.
But throughout all of this,
while the ship has not had any controls,
these ships have positioned themselves
and a barrage of fire is incoming.
Shit.
So, the corrupted...
One of the corrupted cruisers is going to take its action
to fix the damage that Thalia dealt,
so it's going to get rid of its mishap.
Okay.
And then it's going to use its second action to fire its main cannons which is a 24 to hit which will hit the
storm chaser I'll see a see you on chaser again the storm chasers AC is 15
depends on where the whole is 15 this is hitting you in your front shields, and is going to be... I bought some damage, which is currently at 34.
32, I've got this.
We took 18 points of damage on the first hit.
Yeah, so 32.
That is going to be 25 points of damage to your front shields.
37 less on the front.
Um...
Um, so...
Well, the shields have taken some already, the front shields, I believe. Yeah, they have. Yeah, well, the shields
have taken some already.
The front shields, I believe.
Yeah, they have.
Yeah, that's what's...
50.
Seven left, yeah.
Yeah, so it was seven.
I thought you said 27.
I was like,
what is this?
But you watch it
almost like you feel
like this impact
as these environmental
kind of magical shields
you have protecting
the storm chaser.
You almost see it flicker
like an almost flash
like it almost breaks through.
That is the one of the cruisers.
Yeah.
The bio ship that launched
these Hadar creatures onto you.
He's all out, right?
Out of creatures.
Out of creatures, but not...
However, it has these kind of like acid,
kind of like jets or protrusions.
It's got gauze on it.
And it is going to basically
use both of its actions to fill both of its weapons
To try and goz I believe this
We're getting caused
So first of all from its acid sprays
This is into the hole. This is gonna be your side art. That is gonna be a 16 to hit
side yes
Which is okay.
Side has the same shield.
And that is gonna be...
80 I've got here.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we're at 80.
100 total, but we're down to 80.
18 points of damage from that.
62.
However, it is then gonna use its stronger weapon,
which is this kind of, not quite acid,
it's almost like, it has like a spine, almost like a railgun,
but it fires these hardened barbs. It's going to fire one of these. That is going to be
a 17 to hit.
You're so cool.
They are fucking rad. Especially when they shoot spined barbs.
I love hearing Mother-to-be Rhiannon be like, I fucking love royal guns, they're fucking cool.
42 points of damage on the side deals.
Yikes!
What?
20 left.
So you watch, because you are being barraged
at this point, like now without the ship,
without anybody being able to control it,
they are easily able to get advantage
and unleash their weapons on it.
Unleash Hellfire.
That is only two of the ships,
remember there is a third cruiser.
No!
And this one's gonna use both actions over the team.
So before that goes,
and the storm chaser gets to go before then as well,
the last remaining Doomstrider is gonna pull itself back up.
It's gonna look around, it does not like Aayla,
but it also senses that there is weaker prey.
Lancey is no. Towered. but it also senses that there is weaker prey. What happens to you? No.
Towered.
Howard's downstairs.
He's making up a nice meal.
That is actually a point.
What?
Next time you attack it,
I'm not going to take it off this time,
but don't forget,
if these things are looking at you,
you have no magic.
So things like your bonuses and your attack weapons and stuff like that,
you do not think they have to use. So things like your bonuses and your attack weapons and stuff like that. Just a thing they have to use.
So things like your hammer would be technically plus two less
because it's a magic hammer.
I thought, so before that one, when it specifically put its back.
So from this point, it is opening its mouth.
I just didn't get a chance to describe it yet.
It is going to open its mouth.
I didn't think it had opened its mouth.
Those of you who are basically, and it is going to look towards Ayla.
So currently, Lucius, you are fine.
It's basically going to look towards Ayla.
It's going to basically, yeah, Lansian and those guys.
In fact, it might even position itself slightly differently as well.
It's going to position itself like here.
And it's kind of facing towards Ayla, Lansian.
Did that come out of my attack of opportunity range?
It was pushed out, so no.
Because it was pushed out originally.
But when it climbed back, so...
It's going to run along the side and climb back in.
Cute.
It is going to move there.
And then it's actually, because this thing isn't stupid,
it can sense that Aayla's a pretty strong enemy,
it's actually going to go for Kamara.
Kamara the lightest.
Yes.
It's going to make two core attacks. The first one is going to miss. The second
is however going to hit. This is going to be...
So ten, eighteen points of damage to Kamara.
Holy shit. Okay, that's... Kamara might be in a bad way here.
Certainly looking injured. So this kind of reaches both of these claws in
because Kamara dodged the first one,
the second one almost impales her.
And you can see that this creature wanted to grab
both of its kind of like pincer-like legs into her.
And then it tries to pull her into the giant mouth
in its chest.
But because she managed to dodge one,
she manages to eventually kind of free herself
from its grip and not get caught up
in this grab-like maneuver.
We've played Dead Space, and they do that grab,
and then they pull you in thing.
It tries to do that, but it is going to face its anti-magic cone,
this time basically catching Aela, Lantian, Lucius, Quill.
Oh!
The things.
Luckily, you are flying.
Nova, you would also technically be caught in this as well,
as it's going to angle it that way.
I'm at the top of the stairs. Is that still in the reach?
It is a three dimensional cone.
So unfortunately, yes.
I like ice cream.
The storm chaser continues its course without anybody able to jump on and pilot it.
It continues moving forward and you are in the next battle round.
You will be entering this debris field.
And you can see Oriah is already
trying to gain control and already
trying to prepare herself ready for this
upcoming event.
But unfortunately, that is not the case.
The crew have already taken their action.
You already ordered an action to them. The final
Valkyrian cruiser
is going to pull up, basically, alongside.
And it is not going to fire. It is going to send over a cabal of troopers.
Oh!
To teleport them aboard the Storm Chaser. And you see a number of figures arriving.
Oh, hell yeah! Can you tell them we're busy right now?
Pretty rad, they're pretty rad too.
Look at these cool boys.
Quite busy.
Big boy with tiny wings and a mace.
Yeah, he has got tiny wings.
And then a regular boy.
We'll describe him shortly.
Two of them up by lookout.
Welcome to the party.
Not lookout, sorry, Penny.
And then the rest around
sentry, basically.
But if we don't
command her, does she just take it? Yeah, she'll take it at the very
end of the battle round, basically. If you don't command
them, and her basic action is to
fire the main cannon. So she'll do that at the
end of the action.
So, you watch as kind of flickering
into vision, similar to a teleport
spell-like effect
appearing behind the Doomstrider,
you see what would have once been
a beautiful, angelic, celestial creature.
One that almost looks familiar.
No.
Recognising a figure from the wings of Ishtar,
a celestial organisation you once temporarily partnered with.
Perhaps they were captured, or perhaps they...
You don't know the circumstances.
That's why they didn't answer the call.
You see this figure.
What beauty they would have once possessed is now gone.
Their skin is pitted with holes and marks.
Their wings have been literally torn off
and replaced with kind of writhing tentacles
where their wings should have been.
Their eyes are black voids.
Stop enjoying this.
Sorry.
Their eyes are just black voids,
and they have the same almost distended,
far too wide mouth that you've seen
other Spawn of Hadar carry.
They have a wicked-looking flail in one hand.
They bear armor, very commander-like,
and they just point down.
Death.
Next to them appears to be a,
probably would have once been a Valkyrian mage or wizard.
You can see the kind of wizardy robes and hood.
But where their eyes and their face would be,
and this is another similar thing you've encountered before,
their whole upper face is missing
and there is just this like black hole-like object
in their face where their face should be.
And they're just with robes and they have their hands out
very clearly some sort of spellcaster or mage.
And then a force, seven soldiers, with robes and they have their hands out very clearly some sort of spellcaster or mage and then
uh a a a force seven soldiers basically like valkyrian soldiers but again you can see the
signs of hadar corruption um kind of teleport in uh drawing weapons match tech they're wearing edgy
clothes listening to my alchemical romance they certainly. Made his way out to the edge of space.
They are going to, they can't take their full turn but some of them can do some things.
The corrupted Daever is going to issue a command and basically is like, commands them to attack
and to move.
And so all of these minions get to immediately move.
Bring it on, bring it on, bring it on.
Oh boy.
Oh, Kamara's getting pretty surrounded there.
Chomp-a-dee.
I've been trying to keep track of NPC,
the damage they've taken,
I don't know how much health they have,
but Kamara's taken quite a lot of damage.
These minions are going to make a basic attack.
Sentry, two of them are going to make an attack against you.
The first one is going to miss because it was a natural one.
The second one is going to be a...
Only a 20 to hit.
No, it doesn't hit.
Alright, so with shield and army you're kind of defending these two as they're attacking.
And they're not necessarily mindless, you can still see there's some sentience.
There's still some semblance of their military training there,
but there's just no emotion.
They're just almost attacking like automatons as they do.
Two of them are going to actually attack two members of the wolf pack.
Oh!
Yep.
First one is a natural one, again.
Good.
Second one is going to be a 16, which is a natural one again. Good.
Second one is going to be a 16, which is going to be enough.
Randy!
And very much like you guys, the wolf pack unfortunately.
I think that was a Nigel and a Carl.
No!
No!
Excuse me.
Put that many back.
No.
We don't lose wolf pack.
No.
You watch as this soldier runs up behind them and just through their backs.
The wolf pack kind of clutches this blade
and they kick the body out into astral space.
No, he's being pinned.
When they were kicked,
did a tiny bone come out as well
of like their hand or something?
Was this one distracted looking at me?
What are you guys talking about?
What are you asking?
The one that always looks at Quill. Oh, no. Where's he? That one's got blood. He's never... Was this one distracted looking at me? What are you guys talking about? What are you asking?
The one that always looks at Quill.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
Where's he?
That one's got him.
He's never seen until...
And then three of them are going to attack Camara.
Oh, shit.
I think Camara's dead.
Camara's not gonna survive.
I'm gonna make this a group attack,
so I'm gonna add their bonuses.
It's gonna hit.
This is gonna be... Camara's not gonna survive. So one, two the 18. Yep, so hit. This is gonna be.
Kamara's not gonna survive.
So it wants 15 points of damage.
God, so Kamara's now taken 41 damage.
She is still up.
Kamara is one of the most,
she's one of the stronger fighters.
Anybody else and she probably would have been down,
but you can almost see this like bestial,
feral will to survive as she's just stabbed and pummeled by these soldiers.
And then she just kind of howls,
and like knocks them away
and is like slamming them with the butt of a rifle.
Like she's trying to get them off her
and as they're basically trying to surround her,
but she is in a desperate way.
She's like fighting to survive at this point.
As they all move forward,
the wizard is going to...
Lucius, you're currently covered in armor of Agathys, right?
I am.
Don't tell me.
Well, I'm going to roll it to see if I can dispel it.
They're going to try and cast Dispel Magic on you
as their sort of immediate...
Do they have to see me casting the spell to kill me?
No, that's counter spell.
Spell magic is an active spell.
So I roll a...
Armour of Agathys is a first level spell normally, isn't it?
Normally, but it's not the one I've cast.
What did you cast it as?
It sets the DC.
Three.
Three.
All right, so this is going to be...
Well, if it's three, then it automatically does it
because I cast it at third level.
So unfortunately, they kind of...
And you just watch as they almost pull the magic away from you,
and it dissipates.
The angel used their action to command the others,
so that is going to be then done.
The Deathmangler.
Oh, yeah?
Oh, no.
The Deathmangler will turn its attention on Nova Vija.
Oh, okay.
As you are there.
Four punchy attacks.
First one is only a 14 to hit.
Incorrect.
Second one is a 25 to hit.
Incorrect.
Third one,
I mean, that is a hit, by the way,
podcast listeners.
Third one, that is only going to be a 12.
Incorrect.
23.
Incorrect. Two. Incorrect.
Two of them hit. No hits!
Wow, she can't believe it.
So it's gonna be nine points of bludgeoning damage
from the first, and then 14 points of bludgeoning damage
from the second, as it just
kind of slams down on you.
We then go to Lucius Vidian.
Woo, we're doing stuff, kid!
Seeing Kamara getting absolutely beaten down on,
he reluctantly turns his back, runs up the stairs,
and shouts to Oriah, I'll handle this for now,
and I'm gonna try and steer the ship on my turn.
Okay.
All right.
I need you.
In that case, this is going to be...
Beep, boop, beep, boop!
Yeah, I need you.
So you can choose to either use Intelligence or Dexterity,
plus your Proficiency bonus,
because you are trained in flying the Storm Chaser.
Okay.
So what is your higher mod, Dex or Intelligence?
That would be Dex.
What is that mod for?
Plus two. Plus two.
And then your proficiency bonus, I think, is plus six.
At this point, level 20, yeah.
Yeah, so it'll be a plus eight to the roll.
Okay.
Here comes nat 20, though.
That's a nat one.
That's a nat one right there.
Oh my fucking god, we are toast.
Chris Strott, can you roll a d20 for me, please?
Yeah, sure, hit comes on nat 20.
I gots a four.
Oh my fucking god.
Can you roll, this would be a crash
this size, five d10 for me, please.
Oh!
Crash five d10.
We're back to. So I'll describe it in a minute. Can you roll badly on this one, please for me, please. Oh! Clash. 5d10. We're flat.
So I'll describe it in a minute.
Can you roll badly on this one, please?
Yeah, yeah.
You're just gonna ask.
Just say it doesn't add 20 again.
Can I get some d10?
Oh, what d10?
Three.
D2?
Just roll three d10s and then roll two more afterwards.
Add it all up.
Ooh.
Yeah, you rolled roll five.
Fuck.
21.
And then one more. Two more. And he rolled four. One more. Yeah, you rolled roll five. Fuck. 21.
And then one more.
Two more.
And you rolled four.
One more.
Yeah, one more.
21 plus 10.
Plus 10.
So 31.
31 on that one.
This is 31 points of damage.
This would go into your front shields, which I believe only had seven.
Only had seven.
So that is...
24 goes through.
24 points of damage goes through to your hull.
And you also have a miss.
What happens is Lucius, you run up and in your panic,
like you know, you kind of speed to Orion
and in your panic, like knowing that Kamara's in danger,
trying to steer the ship away.
This is really your first time
in this kind of intense situation
of trying to fly the storm chaser.
And you just, it's up to you,
like what if this is a mistake
or whether you just misjudge it
or maybe this is something unexpected.
This isn't necessarily Lucius' fault.
He just didn't anticipate
a piece of debris moving in a weird way.
What I think would happen
is I run up the stairs
and I go to press the button
and then Kamara,
because this is all happening
at similar times,
when she does that... I'm distracted by that,
thinking that there's something wrong with her,
and I press the wrong button.
Yeah, well, it'd be like you swipe or you touch one of the crystals,
and it just causes the ship to lurch
as it slams into one of these pieces of debris.
It scrapes along the ship as a piece,
and as it scrapes along the side, that takes the shields and hull damage, and as it nears the back along the ship as a piece and it as it scrapes along the side that takes like the
shields and hull damage and as it nears the back of the ship it collides with a piece of the engine
you currently have the engine failure mishap the ship's engines are damaged and its movement is
hindered the pilot cannot take actions and the ship automatically fails dexterity checks and
dexterity saving throws until this mishap is repaired.
That must be repaired in the engine room.
Which is downstairs.
Yeah.
You watch as the, and so the ship is now locked.
Even though you gain the control back,
it is heading straight for this wreckage ahead of you.
If it is not fixed in time,
you will crash again into more debris.
Okay.
So Lucius, it would be your action and your movement to do all of that.
You have a bonus action.
NovaVG, you are next.
I don't know what I'm doing.
I'm going to quicken a spell.
And it's going to be...
A cheeky...
I'm going to do a little cantrip on Deathmangler.
Okay.
And it will be Firebolt.
Okay.
So plus 30 to hit.
Sure, sure, sure.
No, come back!
So that's 12. No, 22. Sorry, I thought you were roleplaying the death mangle.
No, I swiped and it nearly got rid of the encounter.
Sorry, 22 to hit is a hit.
Oops.
No, it'll vanish.
They're all dead.
Woo!
40, 10.
They weren't working for us.
They worked great when Trot rolled that damage roll.
I think we're going to have They weren't working for us.
They worked great when Trot rolled that damage roll.
23.
23 points of damage.
A fire damage.
A fire scorches the death mangler
as it kind of burns all over its body.
It does look heavily injured by that attack.
Sweet.
That is me.
That is you, Nova Veeja.
Can I misty Step myself
back into the engine room?
You have to Misty Step
to somewhere you can see.
So you would bonus action.
In which case can I...
So Misty Step,
you could literally Misty Step
to the stairs down
and then move action to go.
That would be enough?
Yep.
I'll do that.
All right.
And then... It would be an action to try and repair the be enough? Yep. I'll do that. All right. And then it would be an action
to try and repair the mishap.
Repair system, yeah.
So what do I need to do?
Well, you have to be in your pod
to take those special actions,
but you can just try and manually fix the engines as well.
Would it make it better if I was in the pod?
It makes it, it would technically make it easier,
but it's an action to get in the pod.
So I couldn't fix it on this go.
Okay, let's fix the thing first before I get in.
All right.
In that case, for you in the engines,
this would be an intelligence arcana check.
I'm assuming it's the best one.
Plus nine to arcana?
Yeah.
Or the other alternative is athletics or sleight of hand.
Athletics!
Physically like...
Minus two to athletics.
So this is an arcana check,
and the DC for an engine failure is 19. Oh, that's quite high.
It's complicated. Complicated system. Simple things are easier to repair, complicated ones are harder.
Actually, I can't see you anyway.
Nine plus six.
Fifteen.
Not enough.
I just rolled a natural 20 in my dismissive throwing of the dice out.
So Nova, you run down.
You are trying to like through the systems, through the magitek,
the crystals and sigils and enchantments. You are trying to,
and you can see that the elemental engines that Azaria has built for you,
one of them is ruptured and there is this elemental magic just streaming out.
And you're trying to like depower it so you can seal it,
but it's physically like you're having to like,
there's members of the wolf pack, they're trying to help you physically patch it.
They're not doing a particularly good job because they're panicked.
They don't know what's going on.
Unfortunately, just this turn, you are not able to fix that mishap.
That's fine.
It's fine.
Am I allowed to tell
Howard to do something?
If you still have a
bonus action but I
believe you misty
stepped so you are
out I'm afraid.
Can I free action
curse?
Yes.
There's a lot of
cursing happening.
So.
Only enough for a
free action though.
What's that sound
down there?
A lot of cursing.
Go to the top of a
brand new round.
Okay.
The storm chaser.
Oh did Penny shoot? Ah yes let me do that. So who didn top of a brand new round. Okay. The Storm Chaser. Oh, did Penny shoot?
Ah, yes.
Let me do that.
So who didn't take a turn?
Howard and Penny.
Lansian, Penny.
Howard was basically told to get below decks,
and he's currently cowering
until he's told something to do
and not something new to do.
Did Kamara take a turn?
No.
So Kamara can attack.
So Kamara, Lansian, Penny.
Yep.
They'll take their basic actions.
Lansian is to attack any creatures
that are the closest creature in range.
Kamara is the same.
Okay, so we can't, like, tail?
If on your turn you can give them specific things to do,
if it's at the end of the turn they haven't acted,
they just default to what their basic actions are.
In this case, Kamara and Lansian,
their default thing is to attack the closest thing.
Penny's is to fire the main cannon
at the most damaged enemy ship,
which is
currently the bio ship also disengage yeah also i asked in the discord for a list of names for the
wolf pack because apparently there's canonical names for okay there's also there's six of them
well there's 12 in total but there are there are six here now well the six named ones are the ones
that are on the deck of the ship so roll a d roll a d6. Let's see who died. All right. Six.
Bob's dead.
Bob!
Bob!
Bob down!
Bob down!
Penny first with the main cannon.
Took me 45 minutes to do nothing.
Natural one.
Oh, man.
The main cannon, because it is a... What is happening to the ship right now?
Well, I kind of like the magical discharge doesn't fully,
like it's a natural one.
It's just narrative. There's no, like, ongoing
effect. It's just a narrative description for it.
Yeah, the cannon just doesn't fire. There's damage
to it, maybe the engines. Who knows?
Kamara is going to attack.
God,
so many things to do. Kamara's
going to use her signature attack. 22 to
hit. She destroys one of these minions.
She will try and fight the ones closest to them and get them away from She's gonna use her signature attack. 22 to hit. Oh, that's good. She destroys one of these minions. Nice.
She will try and fight the ones closest to them.
Nice. Getting them away from her people.
That's our Bob!
And just like punches one.
Just tears them apart with her claws.
Lantian is gonna use his radiant magic.
He's gonna use his explosion, his radiant bolt,
against the Doomstrider.
That is a 19 to hit, which is gonna hit.
D6.
10 points of radiant damage
to the current wounded Doomstrider.
The one that's taken a beating from Aayla, yeah.
Yeah, and that heavily weakens it.
They're pretty beefy lads, though.
They do take quite a bit of damage.
Yes, they are pretty heavily beaten up.
Oh boy.
Yes, so you can see that one is heavily injured as Lansian kind of fires this radiant bolt with his hands at it.
And I believe that is the remaining NPCs who have not gone.
So, start of a brand new turn.
The Stormchaser heads into this debris field.
When it reaches the Storm Chaser's turn,
if you do not have the inch,
if nobody's ready,
if a Ryra is not able to make a pilot check,
you will automatically crash
and take some damage and a mishap.
I'm right at the end of the initiative,
so have fun with that.
Yeah, same.
So somebody will have to either go down and do it,
or you'll just have to tank this one crash.
The longer you are in the debris field,
the higher the chances of you crashing into stuff remains.
But also the enemy ships, if they pursue you,
will have the same problem.
So there is like cover and like weaving around it.
But right now with the engines disabled
and without being able to pilot it,
this is going to be very tricky.
Right.
Just checking up on what I've got to do. We start with Sentry, then Quill.
Stressed! Mood!
Stressed!
I think I'm just going to try and get rid of as many of these minions off the ship as possible. So I would like to Misty Step towards,
Misty Step towards next to Kamara,
try and defend her from any more attacks.
And then I would like to Sunbeam in a line.
So I should be able to get some of those minions.
Five feet wide?
Five feet wide.
Aiming towards these guys on the top as well.
Okay, I would say you catch like one, two, three, four,
I would say.
Four, nice.
Yeah, so it's a five feet wide.
Yeah.
Well, it's definitely getting the Daever as well, right?
Yeah, I'd say one, two, three, and the Daever.
I'd say, yeah, three minions and the Daivah.
I can't keep it.
All right.
You've got one.
That's my nerds game.
Mine won't break.
What?
Yep.
We never use them.
First minion fails.
Second minion fails.
Probably why it's broken.
Third minion fails.
All three minions fail.
They are probably dead.
Brilliant.
Yes.
The Daivah, however, this is a magic spell, yes?
Yep.
They have advantage on saving throws against magic.
And this is a, what type of save?
Is it technically magic if it comes from centuries?
Yes, it is still magic.
Yeah.
It is a spell in the game.
No, I know.
All right, let me rephrase that.
The way that it happened.
It has advantage on the saving throw.
Con save.
That is gonna be only 15, though.
Sick. Okay. So that is 68.
However, it cannot be blinded.
Oh, okay.
But it still takes the full damage.
Still takes damage, yeah.
It takes half damage.
All right. It technically takes a quarter damage.
It is resistant to radiant damage.
Okay.
It is an angel.
But the minions take full damage.
Minions take the full amount.
Yeah.
So 10, 15, 17, 19, 26.
26 total, so 13 goes down to 6 against the Daever.
Wait, didn't the Daever fail the save, sorry?
It did save, that's true, yeah.
So it's half.
The three minions, however...
So that's now a triple kill.
Incredible.
You've killed nine people in two turns.
Hell yes.
When these minions die...
Uh-oh.
Oh.
I need...
Just century, you need to make two dexterity saving throws for me, please.
As these humanoid corrupted humanoids die,
you watch as their bodies are...
You hear, like, snapping and crunching of bones
as they are pulled into themselves. Micro black holes. you watch as their bodies are, you hear like snapping and crunching of bones
as they are pulled into themselves.
Micro black holes.
And kind of pull your kind of like essence in with them.
Oh, that's horrible.
Really cute, that's how I'd wanna go.
13 and a nine.
They do scream, it's like a like,
there's this momentary like.
That's how I feel when I cringe real hard.
13 and a nine.
13 and a nine. 13 and a 9.
You just have to find out.
Both a failure, I'm afraid.
It's not too much.
That is going to be seven points of necrotic damage.
Alrighty.
Sentry goes subatomic.
Oh, boy.
But that is just your action.
So bonus action, sorry.
Yep.
Bonus action was to Misty Step.
Action to Sunbeam.
Got to let it pass, but don't forget,
you can't Misty Step and cast another spell in the same round.
But we'll let it go for now.
Mabby, sorry.
That's all right.
I always forget.
And I'll just stay next to Kamara.
Stay next to Kamara as best you can.
All righty.
One thing I forgot, by the way,
is you do at the top of this round,
Thali would have made another attack,
and one of those Valkyrian cruisers
is now basically being pulled away
to deal with the twin star.
The one that she attacked before
had already taken a hefty chunk of damage.
She strafes it again,
and you see maybe its weapons ports,
one of its main cannons blows,
and now the rest of its weapons
are turning on the twin star, which is now spiraling around.
So it's basically pulled one of these cruisers away from you,
but still leaving the bio ship and the other cruiser
pursuing the storm chaser into the debris field.
Oh boy.
Quill.
Quill.
Quill.
Quill.
Um, I am going to, starting,
I'm about 10 feet in the air,
that's fine, I'd like to cast Spirit Guardians.
You can't cast any spells.
I would like to move.
He's so sure of himself.
I'm still within range of this Jerk Lord Dick Man.
If I move, Captain Jerk Lord Dick Man. If I move five feet that way...
You basically like flap yourself.
So I'd be, if I was level with the deck essentially.
Yeah, because it's kind of like doing this.
You feel like next to Lucius you'll be alright.
Oh, so it's still affecting the deck as well.
That's affecting all of this.
It's basically clipping this guy out.
But it's not getting that, yeah. Deathmangler on this.
It's like, yeah.
Deathmangler!
But then I blew.
Deathmangler!
You're fine. If you move next to Lucius, you'll be fine.
But I get an opportunity from him.
Your words, yes.
And his seven arms.
He only gets to make one attack.
Luckily.
I mean, if I'm gonna...
Can you imagine seven?
I'm gonna get away from this guy anyway.
So I'm gonna go further down the ship
towards the front instead.
Do you want to step in the air?
Yeah, but not so high that I'm, you know,
sucking space fumes.
Like here?
Yeah, that'll do.
Further towards the daver and the other stuff, yeah.
Oh, Spirit Guardians is only 15 feet.
Man, Spirit Guardians. Oh, it's third level. Okay.
I will do, in that case, a Masked Cure,
so it's going to hit everything within 30 feet.
Six creatures.
Six creatures within 30 feet, Kamara being one of them.
Aayla, have you been hit?
I've not been one point damaged.
Penny has taken some wounds.
Penny and Kamara.
I don't know if Sensory's taken a little bit of damage.
I don't think she's taken much damage.
Lansian has taken damage.
It's more the NPCs that have taken damage.
You save every one of those goddamn wolves.
I should.
In honor of Bob.
In honor of Bob.
Oh, you know what?
No, it's not.
I mean, it is.
If Tom doesn't heal them and they die,
we all know that it's all on top, right?
Everyone, look, everyone has a potion.
You guys do.
We're all busy declaring this thing.
We're not the ones problem.
Yeah.
It's the wolf pack dying.
Yeah, we already lost Bob.
Do something cool.
I will say both Penny and Kamara,
they don't get death saves, by the way.
Like, if I get them to zero hit points,
they're dead.
Like, if you want to resurrect them,
maybe that will work,
but there's no death saving throws.
Can't resurrect Bob.
He's in space.
I can't revivify because they've been touched
and Bob's in space.
Yeah, he's gone.
Doing a BIM.
I just feel like it's a bit of a waste
to mask your wings, you know?
Sure.
Just waste their life.
What are you doing, Tom?
I'm going to do mask your wings.
Okay.
No, Sentry's next to Kamara.
I think Kamara's...
Okay.
Do something, Tom!
I do need you to do something,
because this is a lot of combat.
You've only been through one round so far.
I'm going to cross the beams and do sunbeam.
Yay!
So this daver's just in the middle of this.
You will only hit the daver.
You're only going to hit one person.
If I position myself in a way that is also hitting the daver.
Maybe you can hit the mage and the daver, yeah.
Yeah, I'll do that sunbeam.
So it makes a con save and the wizardy one as well.
Okay, give me a second.
Do you get a cool power up because we're both doing it together?
Sorry?
To Tom.
Do you get a cool power up because we're both doing it together?
Yeah, that's where it crosses. Con save, yeah.
It blights the entire ship.
I'll do the mage because they fail The daver is going to
I think, oh, it gets advantage
Daver is at 19
22, baby
So it still fails, but it cannot be blinded
And it does have resistance to rage
The mage is, as a reaction, going to use their arcane ward
To reduce the damage they take
But they are still blinded
What a little bitch A damn nerd to use their arcane ward to reduce the damage they take, but they are still blinded.
What a little bitch.
A damn nerd.
19, 26, 32 damage.
32.
The arcane ward will reduce it by 26,
so it's only going to take six damage on the mage,
and 32 halved would become 16 to the daether.
Okay, and bonus action.
I'll tell Audicamara to
strike at
the
dog thing. Dog, horse, mouth, man.
The Doomstrider. The Doomstrider.
Can you roll a d20 plus 7 for me, please?
That's a 20.
Unnatural 20. Unnatural 20.
That's a hit. D10 plus six damage, please.
That is?
Super cocked.
Super cock.
Seven plus?
Super cock.
Six.
So 13.
13.
With that, Camara gets a second time.
Oh, yes, Camara!
Camara gets a killing blow.
And you can see just covered in blood and like stab wounds and things like that.
She has this like big rifle.
We'll reach up and just kind of following an Araya's method,
plunge it up into the creature's like chest mouth
and just blast it from the inside.
As she finishes off the Doomstrider.
Hell yeah.
And now Sentry's protecting them against a minion.
Yes. That's good. Good shit. End now Sentry's protecting them against a minion. Yes.
That's good.
Good shit.
End of turn, Killacatclaw.
If I say so myself, that was a great turn.
End of turn.
Great turn there, Quill.
It only took 25 minutes, I think.
Oh, Custen!
Did anything break off me? Because the wolf pack kind of followed minion rules, Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin! Oh, Kostin!
Oh, Kostin!
Did anything break off me?
Because the wolf pack kind of followed minion rules,
I'm not going to make attacks opportunity for them.
So the wolf pack doesn't get it.
Sentry, one of them is going to charge towards you.
Two of them are going to attack the very weakened Kamara.
One of them is going to attack Sentry.
No!
I'll have to protect Kamara on one of them.
Yeah.
Okay.
She protect.
So that's going to be, unfortunately,
even with your protection, Sentry, that is still
going to be a 19 to hit Shemara. She's still going to get hit, and then against you, that
was a natural 20 against you, Sentry.
So that's going to be eight points of damage to you, Sentry, and because this is a group
attack, that is also going to be eight points of damage to Kamara.
Oh, shit.
Live! Live!
Live to win.
Come on!
Jell-O, come on.
Kamara's down.
She is not down, but it is very desperate.
How much did she take there, sorry?
Eight.
She took eight. She has taken a total of 49 points of damage.
And I will say this.
She has one left.
She has 58.
She is incredibly hurt.
Um, that is the minions.
Oh boy.
Oh shit. Ayla.
Ah!
So, as
a whole, this ship's gonna crash
into a debris field.
You could, so I'll present
you to your options. I've heard Nova cursing.
Absolutely.
Free action person.
You guys can communicate and stuff.
You know that she still needs,
she has not fixed the engines.
You could go down and try and fix the engines.
It would be movement and action to do so.
You can fight up here on the top deck
and you have a bonus action
if you would like to command, I believe,
currently Lensian, Penny, Oriah,
well, Oriah needs her turn, unfortunately.
She can't be given actions until, if you want her
to try and avoid the wreck, so she needs to do that.
There is also Howard Willowdeck,
who is told to go and hide.
He's doing that quite admirably.
Can I
command
Lansian to defend
Kamara? Okay. defend Kamara. Okay.
At all costs.
Okay, yep.
And I will run,
just because I know that everyone's initiative
is kind of trash below me,
I will run to the engine room
and I will try and use strength
to fix whatever mishap there is.
Yeah, so you run down
and you can see that in the process,
like, Nova is trying to basically guide these members
of the Wolfpacker in the engine room to try and basically
put this heavy metal plating, holding it in place
and trying and welding it to seal this, like, breach in the thing.
And then at the same time, Nova is trying to do
the magical enchantment bits to, like, recalibrate it.
But this needs both elements to work.
So yeah, this is going to be an athletics strength check.
You have advantage because you are raging.
It can't fail.
It could fail.
Natural one.
23.
23 is enough.
19 to fix.
You kind of place the thing up.
With your immense strength,
you just hold this plate
in place by yourself.
The two wolf pack members
using these kind of like
magitek arc welders
will go around sealing it
whilst you hold it in place.
It's exhausting for you, Aayla
as you're kind of holding it in place
so that you can feel this power
scorching your hands
but it's nothing compared
to the wounds that you've faced before.
As Nova, you finish the calibrations
the engines are finished. But that is going to be your full Nova, you finish the calibrations, the engines are fixed.
Nice.
But that is going to be your full turn, unfortunately.
Yeah, that's fine.
For your command, by the way,
I'm going to basically have it so that Lantian will,
basically, if Kamara is hit again,
Lantian will automatically take the hit instead.
Cool.
But only one.
Oh, okay.
He'll basically throw himself in front of a blow.
Yeah.
She still needs some help, but I thought engines were kind of important.
Yeah.
I hope that was a good decision.
It was a good decision.
The Corrupted Daiva.
Also, the front is, the shields are gone on the front of the ship, so.
The Corrupted Daiva is going to look up at Quill.
He's going to fly up to you, Quill.
I'm going to move him in a minute. He's got tiny
tentacle wings. He's going to try and grab you.
Oh, shit. That is
a 19 to hit.
Oh, can I
shield it?
This is a physical attack, yes. You can
attempt to shield it. Then I
will shield it.
Alright.
Giving myself 20.
Boosting your AC to 20.
Yeah.
Nice.
So it goes to like touch you and you can see the hand, um, where perhaps a normal angel
would heal with a touch.
This hand is reaching out with this corrupting entropic force to try and steal your life
force away.
You manage to throw up a barrier, deflecting it.
They sort of frown, these soulless,
and their eyes aren't like, they're not just black,
their eyes are missing and have been replaced
with just void.
They look and they just sort of frown for a moment.
And they will swing this kind of flail
for a 22.
Oh, yeah.
Just say incorrect, that works.
Incorrect.
Incorrect.
Does not work.
That's a big nopers there, Mark.
Lying to you.
Big nopers.
Try again.
It's E.P.
E.P. E.P.
Oh, he E.P.
Spent the whole day saying that to my cat. Oh, he-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e- You ready? K.O. That is the corrupted David's turn, I'm going to move them. Hey bird.
The mage is going to...
Is he still blind?
He is still blind, yes.
Oh no.
Good point actually, they're blind.
They're double blind.
Is there a save at the end of their turn to get rid of that blindness?
I think it's just until the end of my turn, I'll double check.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no, you better not. Good point actually, they're blind. They're double blind. Is there a save at the end of their turn
to get rid of that blindness?
I think it's just until the end of my turn.
I'll double check.
It's the end of Sentry's I think for some reason.
It was me that blinded him, I think.
Did you have him with you? No, Sentry did.
Sentry got the mage, didn't he?
Oh wait, no, it was you.
Quill got the mage, yeah. Quill got the mage.
Blinded until your next turn.
So he would be blinded until the end of Quill's next turn, which is way back up.
Yeah. Oh, that's interesting. That doesn't require
a line of sight. 20 foot cube, did you just say?
He's cubing. What if he accidentally stumbled off the side of the ship because he's blind?
He just walked down the stairs.
I need Sentry.
This is also going to affect their own minions as well.
Idiot.
But this is probably going to get me there.
So Sentry, if you can make a constitution saving throw for me, please.
All righty.
26.
You succeed.
So I believe this is half damage and you are not pushed.
Nice.
Pushed?
Yeah.
I will roll for the enemy minions.
I need somebody to roll for Kamara.
I need somebody to roll for Lance.
Can I do a roll?
Yeah, sure.
What am I?
D20?
Yeah, D20.
Kamara.
10. Kamara's. Can somebody, sure. What am I, d20? Yeah, d20. Kamara. Ten! Kamara's...
Can somebody, Trot, can you roll for the Lantian for me?
Just roll a d20 for me, please.
Okay, so the push, though... She's got one hit point.
They've got one, sure, but the push isn't gonna launch them off the ship.
Damage. 14.
Lantian actually succeeds with his bonus, so he can take half damage.
Unfortunately, he can't jump in
the way of this this is a directed attack and then finally for the two members of the wolf pack
caught in it you watch as this mage kind of stumbling kind of you know feeling out for the
banister of the stairs almost seemingly like kind of stumbling their way down reaches the point
places their hand against the back of their own sort of soldier and then just reaches their arms as
a concussive wave of
gravity-like force erupts from
them, wiping out
three of its own minions.
Okay. Is this
a spell? This is a
technically it's not a spell. It's not a spell, okay.
This is just like a blast of
force. It is magical though. Kamara would get
a plus three from Sentry's Aura.
Yeah, she does.
She still doesn't succeed.
Not with a ten.
She's out.
No.
I'm rolling the best.
You can thank me for that, everyone.
They're launched off.
They're not launched off, but they are struck by the force,
and it is enough to kill them.
Oh, man.
I soon succeed.
Roll a d6.
It's going to take damage.
Oh, Camaro.
Camaro's dead.
Oh, no. Pascar's dead. Oh, no.
Pascar's down.
As well as...
Nigel!
Nigel!
He was the best.
Sentry, you're going to take 18 points of force damage.
Lansian also takes 18 points of force damage.
I'm going to be angry.
We've got one left.
Lansian is also looking pretty beaten up.
Yeah.
But you unfortunately watch
Kamara is thrown back
as her body streaks across the deck
of the Storm Chaser
and does not seem to be moving.
It's going to happen.
Okay.
I'm actually having the worst luck today, so.
No, I mean, we're getting...
I mean ship-wise.
The death mangler comes for Lucius.
Oh, I lost all the ships.
I forgot all the ships.
Hang on.
Seven of them.
Yeah.
What else?
Sentry, Rhiannon, can you roll for me a20 plus 10 for Araya's piloting?
All right.
17.
17 is just enough.
Araya, with the engines kind of flaring back to life,
she's like, I've got this, and then just spins,
and the ship scrapes along the edges of one of these kind of floating debris chunks,
but does avoid from a crash.
I will now make piloting checks for the two other ships.
For the bio ship, that's a two.
It fails.
Yes!
The other Valkyrian cruiser is also struck by debris.
They're going to take, I'm going to say, 40 points of damage each.
Okay.
Wait, 40 each?
40.
Oh, 40.
As you watch as these huge chunks collide into them,
the Valkyrian ship, something is happening aboard it.
It does suffer a mishap.
The bio ship does not suffer mishaps and is going to continue,
but it is looking beaten up.
Like with the few shots that you've managed to hit,
this kind of collision is looking injurious.
How's Thalia doing with the debris?
Huh?
How does Thalia look like she's coping with the debris?
Thalia is fighting outside. She's still fighting one of the other cruisers yeah she's now keeping one of
the cruisers off your back basically off screen she died yeah that we crashed into yeah is the
bioship bleeding um it would it would leak some sort of fluid yeah nice uh but it is red yeah
no you're not sure it's not red it did have acid weapon yeah it're not sure. It's not red. It did have acid weapon things.
It's not...
Shut up, mate, because I've got to do a bunch of stuff.
Death Mangler is going to attack Lucius.
Four attacks with its fists.
26.
Yeah.
First one.
Second one is a...
14.
No.
What?
Third one is a natural one.
Last one is a 22.
Two hits then.
Two hits.
Man, it's lucky that this thing isn't hitting with all of its attack.
Two hits this time.
Go keep the mood light.
12 points of damage from the first one, Lucius, and then only 11 points of damage from the next one.
Rhiannon, why are you holding your face?
I'm stressed.
Okay. I thought you'd realize something.
As this thing pummels into you, Lucius,
we go to your turn.
I've realized I'm stressed.
Oh.
Suddenly realized.
Do you want to bring Calara outside?
I'm stressed.
God, I do.
Yeah, I do.
Go with your heart.
Not with your butt, though.
I will place Camara's miniature back on it
where she would have landed.
That's what I've been doing. I've been going with my butt.
Lucius!
Never go with the butt.
He's looking pretty messed up, right?
This death mangler, yeah, it looks injured.
In which case I'm going to get him.
It's under half health, I will say.
Not that injured, but he's pretty injured.
When I say a creature is injured, i generally mean it's under half health
if i say like it's really close to dead he's got one else like one or two okay
this is not a captain's command situation it is for a guy without any touch spells um i will quicken a spell so things like cones and stuff, by the way, won't be affected by that.
Like if you cone of cone.
It's only if it's an attack roll that it matters.
So like Chromatic Hall would be a problem. And throw the cone.
You can't park it.
Put the traffic cone on the head.
Cone of cone.
Blinded.
Cone of cone.
And then a student comes out of nowhere.
In a bed sheet like a toga.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
What the fuck just happened? A lot.
Quicken spell, third level, Armour of Axis on myself.
That's your bonus action. You can only cast a cantrip now.
I will get out my Captain's Command with two hands.
Come at me, bro.
He doesn't say that. He doesn't say that.
He doesn't say that.
Give me a swing.
All right.
What the fuck is that?
Seven plus ten, 17.
17's a hit.
Oh, shit, yeah.
He's a big boy.
Fuck him up.
Eight plus four, 12.
Oh, it's damage.
Hey, that's a solid blow.
You kind of strike into this thing,
cutting down its musculature.
You see like a skull,
it's kind of hidden between its muscular folds,
and it just kind of like.
It definitely looks like it's just gonna go for you, 100%.
Now it's gonna get damaged again.
That's pretty much all I can do.
Yep, you've moved, bonus action, all that kind of stuff.
I guess you could still move, but you'd get him to attack.
In that case, we go to Nova Vigia.
So, fixed?
Fixed it! Yeah, I'm just trying
to decide whether or not to divert points to shields,
because we've got 50 on the back
that we can divert half to the front,
or do the old 1d4 to a specific task
so that Thalia can punch it!
Not punk, not Thalia. Aria can punch it and get us out.
Yep.
Aria can also take the special maneuvers
now that she's back piloting.
Aria can, she can do evasive maneuvers,
which would give plus four to the ship's AC,
minus two to any of the ship's weapon attacks,
but any creatures on the deck
would have disadvantage on attack rolls. She can also try and of the ship's weapon attacks, but any creatures on the deck would have disadvantage on attack rolls.
She can also try and turn the ship around
and get out of this debris field as well
and stuff like that with set facing.
Otherwise she's just reacting,
she's just avoiding stuff that's flying in.
So I feel like maybe Divert Power to help Oriah
get us out of the debris field
and put some distance between us and other ships.
How much does it divert?
1d4 to a specific task.
Or I can divert up to 20 points,
so I can give 20 points to the front shields. Yeah, I mean, you can even out the shields.
You've got 50 on the back, 20 at the front would be good.
You currently have no shields at the back.
Yeah, at the front.
So shields or divert?
It's your choice. You can make that call.
The thing is that our luck on checks for piloting, et cetera,
hasn't been great.
Okay, so I'm going to divert power to engines
so that Oriah can have more stuff, more room to maneuver.
I would like to bonus action command Penny to shoot the bioship got it in that
case can you roll a d20 plus uh seven uh 20. unnatural uh it is a hit against the bioship so
um because the basically what we'll say with this is uh i will because uh currently the
bar ship is in the side arc,
but I want to kind of speed things up a little bit.
So, Rhiann, can you just roll a d20 for me, please,
and add eight to it?
Hot.
19.
19's enough.
So, Oriah will, as part of her, like, avoiding the debris,
she will basically now turn it so that the Bioship,
she's now basically kind of U-turned the ship,
so she's now flying towards the bio ship and the cruiser to try and get out of the thing.
Running speed.
Yeah, but it means that you have no shields at the front
and they're also in your front arc.
But Penny then unleashes the Perel Cannon,
which fires this continuous beam of magical energy,
like the sunbeam.
As it hits the debris, you see it cause explosions
and sparks of magical light as it kind of careens over it.
As it passes the bar ship,
Kim, I need you to roll me 5d12 damage.
I like that.
I don't think I even have d12s out.
1, 2, 3.
Yeah, just do 3 and then roll two more.
Nine, 10, 11, 12 plus seven is 19.
Two more.
31.
Yeah? Yeah.
31. 31 points of damage.
You watch as this huge section,
almost like a scalpel,
cutting into an infected organ.
The beam just cuts across this thing,
causing this fluid to spill out,
as the bio-ship does begin to almost lean and twist
as if it's been heavily wounded,
like a wounded animal,
as this cannon just...
And you just hear Penny just like,
I got him!
And a scream out.
Nice. Nice. End of turn for you, NovaVJ? Yeah, I got him! And I scream out.
Nice.
Nice.
End of turn for you, NovaVJ.
Yeah, I think that's action, bonus action.
I ain't moving anywhere.
I guess, could I move into the pod?
That would have been your action.
So your action was to do the divert power thing.
But I don't need movement to just be near it or anything.
Nope, nope, nope.
You're in the engine room effectively at this point. Sweet.
That me.
So, start of a brand new round.
But at this point, it is break time.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
We will return, but this is looking good.
You are currently set.
Most of the enemies on the Stormchaser have been dealt.
Three left.
You do have two enemy ships directly in front of you.
The Stormchaser's shields are down.
However, you are set, prepared.
Araya's got the engines back to try and escape this debris field.
You can see that the battle going on around you
is beginning to turn in your allies' favor.
You can see that they are beginning to fend off these Hadar.
If you can deal with these enemies chasing you,
you have a feeling that you will see this through.
This battle, at least, you will see through.
We're doing it.
That's going to be it for part one.
Thank you very much, we'll see you in part two.
See ya.
