Pickaxe.
Hello, welcome back to part two.
Our champions of Eros are currently on the plain of Entropis and they are attempting to make their way to the Tassadar to launch the final assault.
But to do so, they have to traverse a ruined city and valley
and in doing so, offer many different opportunities and objectives.
There are NPCs that need to be rescued there are war allies that need to be brought along and there are
weapons that need to be destroyed speaking of as we left things last lucius is currently leading
a team of ayla max and azaria against one of these kind of bio-cannons that Hadar has created
as planetary defenses, which is currently preventing
you receiving support from the Valkyrian fleet above.
So, you see the scene before you,
you see this giant biological thing built into,
kind of looks like it's taken over an observatory
and sort of turned it into some sort of magical cannon.
What are you guys gonna do how many like we can't count how many there are what as
in the weapons or the cultists there's a lot not an uncountable a number but
there are a lot but you fought these things before and you know that you know you guys are epic heroes um nice try reet uh wow
um that was a that was a curse of stride level of can opening there i tried really hard to make
this stealth it's fine um sorry there is and you know that like for example like ayla and lucius
you guys could probably just destroy 20 you know dozens of these things at a time right
there is enough that they are a not a threat to you individually,
but if they swarm you, they will be.
But the cannon is your priority.

The enemies haven't spotted you as well.
Is this more magical, or is this more smash the cannon?
Because if it's more magical to disable this thing
and I can take out the rest of them,
Max and I can do that,
then we can clear a path for you and Azaria.

I do not think I have any ability to control it,
but certainly it would be easy for my magic
to sort of wither it.
I feel capable that perhaps myself and the captain would be able to magically destroy it, but I do not presume.
Would it help if we also help destroy that? Or would it help if we destroy the other?
It's hard to say. I don't know. I don't know how difficult this thing will be to destroy.
We won't know until we try.

You guys have like pushed through, probably blasting them.
Ayla with a hammer kind of carving a path
up this kind of narrow winding cliff staircase
to reach this observatory,
to get Ayla and Azaria, sorry, and Lucius in range,
and in range for Ayla to start breaking this bio component apart.
Meanwhile, on the cliff itself,
Max has basically created a little Spartan 300 funnel,
and he's just holding off the hordes,
and these creatures are crawling on the walls.
He sees them.
He uses his Valkyrian tech to blast them or magic.
He does all this stuff, and he's holding them off,
and he can hold them off for a while.
But Ayla, you are wrecking house with your hammer,
just kind of tearing chunks of this bio weapon apart.
Lucius, I mean, you tell me, but Azaria is like struggling.
It's like it's resistant to her necromancy.
And so like her spells just aren't having as much of an effect
as she thought they would.
But what does this look like for Lucius?
Is this like being too in distress from the news he had before?

So Lucius starts off next to Zarya,
just blasting, trying to match what she's doing,
because she seems to have a clue, like,
how it's made up and therefore how to destroy it
and what the important parts are.
But he starts to become like Kylo Ren attacking the console.
Like his anger starts to build up
and then he starts to divert his attention to attacking minions
and taking them down as well.
Gets distracted, like seeing a couple make it past Max
and then just turning the rage on them kind of thing.
Nice.
So unfortunately, it is a failure on the objective.
So you have a choice.
You can remain here and spend another time unit to try and destroy this thing again.
Did we have spare units?
I think we had spare ones, right?
It depends if we go to the magical anomaly, the next.
It is going to be the team leader's decision.
It will either be you remain here, spend time unit and attempt it again and basically try and destroy
this thing or you can abandon the objective or you if you have a creative
idea you can tell me there's something like interesting that I'm not
anticipating but those are gonna be my two options at the moment is either
abandon this objective and move on if you you stay longer, it is harder for Max
to hold the enemy back.

So he's gonna tell the team to keep blasting.

and you avoid them, making your way without any difficulty.
Sentry, your team, you have a problem here.
You arrive to the edge of a large ravine,
a big kind of chasm.
Looks like the ground itself, like an earthquake,
a terrible earthquake opened up.
Do you need to get something to wipe up your spill?
I didn't spill. No, no, no, no. Carry on.
A giant chasm, like an earthquake, has torn the ground asunder
and pieces of this city have fallen in
and it's created this just chasm of broken ruins.
And you can see down in the chasm,
and we're going to determine exactly now who it is.

We'll determine which of your allies is within this place.

That is going to be the wild elves.
Whee!
You can see the wild elves who, there weren't that many of them.
They're skilled hunters.

But there aren't that many of them.
They are currently in the bottom.
You can see a crashed Valkyrian ship that they were on.
There is lots of dead Valkyrian soldiers around.
And the wild elves are currently trapped down there in the bottom.
And they are being suppressed.
You can see that there are these cultists wearing Hadar robes.
And they've conjured, like, a barrier,
kind of trapping the wild elves into this place.
And then they're sending,
they're kind of teleporting lesser minions in
and the wild elves are fighting and they're holding them off
but they can't get to the mages
who have trapped them in with these shields.
However, you and your team have approached,
the mages do not know you are there
and they are currently sealing the wild elves in.
What is your team gonna do
take out their majors take out those majors take out those mage i think we're taking out the major
okay uh so in that case if you're just gonna direct attack then it is basically an attack
roll or a spell attack uh as if you were just using the stats don't worry about the actual
weapons and stuff okay uh and that's the NPCs as well right uh yeah so we need rethra and scout
uh my spell attack is oh my god that was good but rethra was uh uh poor god and uh scouts what is
his uh oh plus nine kim's taking all the luck today yeah yeah you're sucking out all our luck
uh i mean to be fair out out of everybody, Kim actually deserves it
after the few weeks she's had.
She does.

But I mean,
transferring the curse
to one person
is sufficient.
So what we got?
So I got,
Quill got a 19.

Karen got a 12.
That is a failure for Scout.
What about Sentry and Rethra?
Rethra got a 13 century
got 30 all right so two successes and two failures um you turn your attention uh to the mages and uh
you know quill and century being the more expert warriors and things that you guys are
more practiced heroes very quickly starbreaker impaling one of these mages quill blasting them
with your cantrips and stuff rethrara and Scout, Scout takes aim and fires,
but his shots go wide, bouncing off the mages.
Rethra jumps down, but he just doesn't kill the mage
in a single blow.
He ends up having to engage in a bit of a melee,
and that is enough time for the rest of the other mages
and the minions that are around them
to basically realize what's going on,
and they are gonna turn on you guys.
And it's unfortunate because over half of you failed.
The event is a failure.
Now, you do free the wild elves,
who are going to rush up to aid you,
but in the process,
I'm going to say that you guys are going to take some damage.
Two failures to occur.
Woohoo!
Yeah, yeah.
So that's to, essentially,
for the entire plan to go flawlessly,
we are two time units down.
Yeah, already.
I'm doing fine.
So that is gonna be 12 points of damage
to each member of the team.
So that's Retha and Skrout included as well.

The wild elves are still trapped down
in the bottom of the chasm,
but you have kind of broken the shields
and they kind of surge up and together
the combined force of you manage to swipe out these kind of like cultists of hadar and then
the forces of adala are around um but it does leave you sort of like in this chasm trying to
help these guys up and bring them up but you do take some injuries and sustain some injuries on
on the way okay all right so we'd have used an extra time yeah and i'd say that the wild
elves themselves it takes you longer to free them,
so they are more injured as well.
So not just you guys take those injuries,
but quite a few of the elves are walking wounded.
They're not in a state that they can really fight
and stuff like that right now.
That sucks.
That would have been great for the Hadar Cannon.
Yeah.
Maybe the escape pods.
Okay.
Yeah, exactly.
All right.
So we jump back to our team who are attempting the same thing.
Lucius and the team trying to destroy the Sadaar cannon.
It's gonna be the same thing. Spell attacks for the two mages.
And then Ada, are you still gonna try and destroy the cannon?

I would like to assist Max in holding back.

I'm pretty much beginning to thin that herd out now.
There's probably not, you know,
they're just throwing bodies at you at this point
and it's not going to last too much longer.
I'm hoping that that has, because I'm helping Max,
it will have made Lucius focus.

With the one that was carried over,
that is gonna be a success on the objective.
So, you watch as Azaria kind of figuring this creature out
and she's like, oh, it's Natu, it's quite strange.
And she begins like seeing just the flesh dissolving
under her necromancy, the bones breaking apart
as she rips them out of the bioform.
Lucius, you're acid and cold.
Whatever Azaria's necromancy doesn't touch,
you incinerate with your magics
and just eventually you trigger something,
maybe plasma stored in the creature's body
or some sort of magical source of its power.
The magic hits it and this whole thing just goes up
like a Christmas, just like,
as it erupts in magical flame as the cannon is destroyed.
Nice.
You're just screaming at this point,
like anger is coming out in spell form.
And you just see the reflection of the explosion
in his two different colored eyes.
And he smiles.
Yeah.
Azaria, calm and sort of unfazed by any of this,
just sort of doesn't respond to it.
But Aayla and Max may be casting worried glances.
I'm going to go up to Lucius and be like,
do not let this consume you, Lucius.
You can't.
You did good, but don't get sloppy about this now.
We're doing it for her.

We're wasting time.

Okay, with that, where's everyone going?
So I know we know where Nova's going.
I'm going for my girlfriend.
Lucius team, are you going to attempt
to jump straight over
to the masked enemy, or do you wish to go somewhere else?
There's a magical anomaly nearby.
So we've done two time units.
This will be your third time unit for everyone.

Maybe masked enemy, because we lost a unit.

So exploring this place, when you arrive,
you can see that this must have once been,
you almost get the impression that maybe this was a school.
And you, exploring the ruins for a brief moment,
you find no traces of Hadar's spawn.
There is traces of Hadar's corruption, but it's mainly just empty halls and stone
until you come across what would have once been
it almost would appear to be like a meeting hall
like a round circular building and the roof's collapsed and ruined but
there are still stone pillars and benches where it almost feels like students would have come to sit
and maybe converse or relax around what would have once been an enormous pool. And that pool
is filled with a soft, and it's the only color that you've seen this entire place so far,
but a soft blue, slightly glowing liquid. And it's very thin. There's puddles of it left in the pool.
But you and Azaria can immediately tell there is raw magic here.
Azaria is like,
I can sense an immense amount of arcane energy from this water.
Whoever these people that lived here once were,
they were in tune with powerful magic.
What can we do with it?
You can make an arcana check. What can we do with it?
You can make an arcana check.
You can also have Azaria make it.
Azaria has a plus 15 to her arcana. Oh, I might make her.
Roll it.
It is her specialty,
is magical knowledge.
Oh, yeah, that's a 16,

She pours some of it into a little vial.
She kind of tastes it a little bit.
She kind of casts spells on it and stuff.
Yeah, of course she does.
And then she pours it onto a little skull that she has
and she kind of examines it and watches it.
And her eyes kind of light up and she's like,
very powerful.
This is almost raw manna in a liquid form.
It will replenish the spell energy of a body. There
is not much of it left, but enough for you and I. And I think it will increase our arcane
power significantly.
Do I ingest it?
Drink it. Drink it. And she'll gather up what is left. And it's puddles, so she gathers
up and there's enough for basically like two potions. She hands you one. And if you drink it, she drinks hers.
Oh, she drinks hers.
Oh, yeah.
Zarya is just like straight away.
Will this last?
Yes, it's permanent.

So what this will do is this will restore a sixth, a seventh, and an eighth level slot.

and you just hear a great cry of like,

As you arrive, we stand ready and you see them approach um and i think if i remember people rook and hadar were still
uh healing weren't they inside the matrix and herald rook and herald were that's right
um so who would be like a second in command,
like for Sentry?
If you can't think of one,
then we can make up one.
But if there's a particular one you want,
not Quill, of the Guardians.

but we can attend to them if need be.

and stuff like that.

to come and specifically.

that we successfully destroyed the cannon
and how we did it in case it helps.

hazards that they're within and you are going to land ready to engage this mass enemy meanwhile nova team girlfriend make your way to the tassadar century team where
are you heading cannon cannon boys you're the leader you tell me yeah we're going canada all
right central team heads the cannon three things for everybody watching i'm gonna jump to nova
team first and for this i'm gonna need to do a little bit of this. Oh no.

you make your way and you can see the great kind of crater
that's been left by the Twin Star as it crashed

you can choose to send a war asset to accomplish this mission instead.

them he's almost got like a fake little metal mustache and goggles, and he's like, here we go!
And then he just slaps a thing on his arm,

as one little explosion triggers a chain,

and it kind of works around like a spiral,

these hooded, shrouded figures,
both looking like powerful figures equipped with technology and armour and weapons,
but one is shrouded to look like death.

cultists are
channeling a powerful red
ritual. Hell yeah!

them is a large
squirming horde of Hadar beasts and they are not alone you can
hear cries of more out in the distance and that is going to be initiative and unfortunately for
you guys uh one of the cultists kind of like snaps to and like looks down we have company have come. She promised us they would.

you see, built onto the edge,
facing this expanse of just nothing
that would look up into the black void of the astral void
where the red star hangs most prominently.
There's a single temple-like structure.
Stairs leading up to a big flat base, and what
almost is a broken archway on top of it. But what was hidden within that storm was a vast,
vast army of Hadar's forces. With the storm dissipated, your forces, your allies, surge
forward and are able to clash without the exposure to the psychic storm.
They are able to fight at their full strength without any injuries.
You watch as all of your combined might, the dragons, the heart-spy knights,
kind of leading that charge, knowing that they are perhaps mightier, stronger,
more strong of heart than the other mortal soldiers.
They lead that vanguard charge, smashing into the
most brutal part of the strike. You see many of the fainites killed, evaporated, dispersed
of energy. Dragons are plunged out of the sky and stabbed repeatedly by these horrid
like Hadar creatures. But then a second wave. The guardians, the wild elves, you see the
Eterna now surging along with Valkyrian's own troops.
And now with that initial hammerhead strike able to break through, it becomes a massive melee.
There are losses on your side, but the tide of battle swings in your favor.
With your own exceptional strength, the strength of your allies, with K Calus, with Siaska leading the way,
you fight and you begin making ground,
pushing closer and closer towards that final structure.
You achieved a result of good.
This means that it is a hard fought victory,
but the odds are in your favor
and the risk of death is low. You do take some damage.
Each of you is gonna take 25 points of damage.
Non-resistable, it's just straight flat damage.

as bodyguards kind of fending off and shooting kind of giving you support fire as you make your
way up as you make your way up you begin to make your way up, you begin to see more of these statues,
these tall cloaked figures with halos and visages of death and weapons and shields
with strange writing on it, marking this way, leading up to what you can assume
was where Terminus Keep once was.
But now it's just this open expanse of nothing, with this single of big raised platform, stairs leading up to it and an archway.
Calus will call out, Vava, begin making it to the breach point now!
And he turns round and he begins giving covering fire with sort of his magitek rifles and stuff
like that into the crowds.
Champions go with her, protect her and Siaska's with him at the same time.
Bodyguards make your way up with the storm chasers
as you all begin racing up to the top.
Quill, I would like you to make a perception check.
Oh, do whatever.
No, we don't know who it's gonna be!

Well, I mean, hey, we don't know that for sure.
Oh my actual god, unnatural 20.

You guys are making your way up to the top,

while you go and defeat Hadar.
And as you race up,
Valor rushes ahead.
She's ready to begin the breach point.
And then you watch as a purple kind of sphere,
geometric shape appears around her.
And that purple begins to turn red.
She tries to teleport, doesn't work.
And you see, as you kind of whip around,
you see one of those bodyguards of Kallus's stood next to Siaska,
just plunges a blade
that seems to be coated with some sort of venom.
Siaska kind of clutches her side
and you just watch as all the color
begins to drain out of her.
Not dead, but she just falls almost paralyzed
as the form of that guard melts away.

She kind of pushes the helmet off
as it grows into this metallic crown,
as metallic wings begin to sprout these spikes.
And she takes a form as Zahkira looks.
