Dungeons and Dragons! Dungeons and Dragons! So... We come back to the group of you.
The airship, the Storm Chaser, is basically making its way
across the Hawkstone Archipelago, a series of islands
that is just off the coast of the continent of Voxar,
which you have visited
before. And you see on the airship as it comes down between the clouds, you can see distinctly
there are kind of like three majorly populated islands, or not majorly, they're quite sparsely
populated islands, with a fourth closest towards Volcanos. A couple of places of note, you can see
a few castles and a few villages on the coast
and things like that.
But what catches your attention is
in the middle of all of these islands,
you can see basically what is a giant migrant fleet,
a series, like a flotilla.
You see a series of boats
that have all been lashed together by planks and you know boards and things
like that and on them like it's number of boats have all been like stitched together and then a
town has been built on the boats so it's like a giant floating town basically um all these different
like little houses and like little um shacks have all been built,
and then the sails are all scattered around.
But it seems to be fairly anchored, so it doesn't seem to be sailing around.
It's just kind of floating on the ocean.
And most of the vessels look to be orcish in nature,
so they actually look like orc vessels mainly.
Sweet.
But the airship travels over that um and heads towards uh the leftmost island to
basically what is a giant stonewalled port city um it has elements of like if i was to describe
it there the buildings here look almost venetian um with little elements of like spanish villas
on the outskirts and along the walls and things like that.
There are a few tall towers.
There is one rocky outcropping that stretches out away from the city over the sea,
and there appears to be a temple with a giant statue
of an orcish woman out the front of it, and she's holding a trident.
But the rest of the city, yeah, it's quite brightly colourful.
You can see that there's
um there's a lot of brightly colored dyes and glazes um lots of clay tiles on the roofs have
been colored in different color like all different colors so there's these you know beautiful
buildings that are almost like mosaics of color um with all these different painted murals around
and things like that um open plazas with
little fountains and vin and like you know trellises with crawling ivy there's a very
distinctly you know if if i was to translate it into real world elements like a mediterranean
like venetian kind of spanish vibe to it um yeah and one of the tallest towers has a large wooden
platform and um is clearly a dock for airships.
There are no other airships docked there currently.
But as you begin approaching the slow kind of approach towards this circular platform,
you can see that there are dozens of humans and dwarves and orcs all kind of like calling out like,
Hey, come closer, come closer.
And then they begin throwing out like and hooks, and the wolf pack take
them in and they start attaching them to the ship
as well, as it's basically brought in
to dock. Kamara and the wolf pack
lower down an actual gangway
as you are basically
now free to disembark.
There is a rather portly-looking
dwarven gentleman
who is at the top of the tower
in a small little
basically like a little stone booth
and it's basically
facing towards you
as you come off of the docks basically
and you can see he's got very
long wavy hair
his beard has been very neatly
plaited and braided and he
has a very large hat
big thick kind of suede coat.
And he is sweating
because this temperate is very,
it's very temperate and warm here.
And you can see he's like mopping his brow.
He's got like a handkerchief
as you kind of all step off.
And a few of the dock workers are like,
ah, yes, go and speak to the dock master.
Speak to the dock master
as they kind of like ush you off.
Okay. Okay.
Remember everybody.
Inconspicuous.
What does that mean?
What?
Good. Nice.
Don't make too much fuss.
Don't bring attention to us.
Don't do what we normally do
every time we go to a new place.
Let's just relax.
Let's just get everyone refreshed
and then we can be on our way.
No problems.
Gather supplies.
Excuse us, sir.
Excuse us.
Which one of you is the captain of this vessel?
That would be me.
Hello, dockmaster.
Greetings, sir.
How long are you going to be staying?
Not very long at all.
In the portal?
A couple of days at most.
Okay.
Well, it's ten gold birthing per day,
or you can pay for a week if you wish in advance,
and then you're free to remain as you need to.
Very well.
Neville, do you mind?
Yeah.
What?
Financial advisor. I was distracted. Hi, what financial advisor that's me i have money what do you want a day a week let's get a couple of days up front okay let's not uh
keep any more of this man's time yes if you kindly would not I must assure you if payment is not prompt if you
outstay your welcome we will impound
your vessel in the name of
Duke Leon
maybe we could give Oriah some extra
cash in case we
need to dock for longer
here
please please it's so hot
I'll be hurrying with
your money
I give you 30 gold
was that it?
3 days there you go
you can see he writes down in a large ledger
name of the vessel please captain
the storm chaser
storm chaser and your name is
Lucius Varian Elwyn
Elinasto at your service
Lucius Elinasto
and where are you coming from we are coming from Elwin Elinasto at your service. Lucius Elinasto.
And where are you coming from?
We are coming from Gusthaven.
Gusthaven.
Okay.
Three days paid for up front.
As I said, if you don't come back,
we'll impound the ship.
Very well.
Thank you.
Good day to you.
He's very disappointed.
You can see, like, as he waves waves you off he's already reaching into he has like a kind of like a box filled with like straw and on top of the straw is loads of ice and
there is a bottle of some sort of alcohol in it he pours it out uncorks and pours himself a very
large glass of wine and then puts it back in and it like, oh, my Zephyr is so hot.
As you begin making your way there.
Do you know where we could go in Porta Sovrano?
The best place for our crew to stay or for us to stay?
Oh, my goodness, sir.
There's a few places.
What are you looking for?
He kind of looks over at you, sees Lucius.
He's like, well, if you want somewhere nice to stay
the Silk Maiden is quite good
he sees Aayla
If you're looking
for somewhere a little more
robust, I recommend
the Devil's Dance
Devil's Dance
Oh my god, I want to go there
Is that all, Sari?
That's all, thank you.
You can go back.
You can return.
Well, I assume we're not going to Devil's Dance.
That sounds absolutely awful.
He said robust.
Robust is not a negative word.
Robust is fine. Let's try it.
Why not?
Devil is, however.
What about our crew?'s try it. Why not? Devil is, however. I want to go somewhere
silver in it.
What about the crew?
Where are we sending them?
They can handle themselves, right?
They can feel where they want
to go.
So I think while you guys are having this discussion,
Kamara has been on the deck sorting out
rotors of rotations
and about three,
no, I'd say four of the wolf pack
and Howard and Lansian
are all coming off and the wolf pack
are literally bouncing up and down
and they're like,
yeah!
They're just like,
you can see
them all holding bags of gold
which is obviously their...
Don't forget, three days
and fighting fit and ready
to get back to work on the ship.
Yeah, yeah, Captain! Yeah, yeah!
Have fun!
Wait, wait, wait. Captain orders.
Have a
bloody good time, okay?
Yay!
He's just kind of cheering.
Howard is
just like, oh, I've never been to this place
before. This sounds very exciting. I'm going to go and see what
food they've got around here. Oh, I wonder what they serve.
And he's like, chatting off. Lansian's
just like, you're always thinking about food.
He's like, food's the best thing in the world. Don't know what you're
complaining about. Come on, Lansian. And the two
of them sort of begin making their way downstairs.
And you can see Lansian
is kind of overwhelmed.
You don't know if he's
been in a city on his own before.
He's just kind of looking around like,
Howard, what's that? Howard, what's that?
Howard's just
kind of taking it. He's like, I don't know, let's go find out!
And he's like...
But Howard seems quite seasoned.
Yeah, you can go see how they're getting on.
I might go and check in, yeah, in a little bit.
I'll give him a couple hours.
Okay.
Well, yeah, where do you guys want to go?
This isn't really a city that I don't think any of you
have any real personal experience with,
so you don't really know what's here.
So what do you guys want to do?
Being a messenger, do i know much about at least
hawkstone like all of these other places nearby yeah i'd say that you know you know about the
places but you don't know the culture and like the specifics of the city like you know that the
hawkstone archipelago i'll tell you what you know the hawkstone archipelago um it's it's quite
wealthy um the i the islands here have very rich soil.
It's like, you know, quite...
There's elements of volcanic soil here,
which makes it very good for growing fruits and vegetables
and things like that.
There's also quite a big cotton and silk trade
that comes from here as well.
And there's lots of dyes as well.
So it's quite a wealthy area.
Porta Sovr um is the largest city it's the wealthiest city it's where most of the trade happens um but there are some smaller villages
and some settlements as well uh navalonda is basically uh navalonde is a collection of
orcish fleets that have been brought together in a coalition
to kind of found a floating
town. And it's kind of
just a place that a lot of orcs tend to
go to trade goods and share
information with each other.
Okay. There is
a, you know, I think that
Quill would probably have heard about, the only
other place that you know in detail would be the
Vintare
Solorenzi,
which is basically the sisterhood
of the vineyard, which is a
collection of monks
or nuns of Sejana
that brew the best wine
in Eros.
Ooh!
So does Lucius know about that?
Probably.
I think that his family might have had
a couple of bottles of the
Solorenze
vineyards.
Okay.
It's a very well-regarded
wine name.
And it's probably notable
because it's literally run by
a nunnery of Sayana, basically.
That's really cool.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, in terms of what we're doing...
Specifics of the city.
In terms of what we're doing while
we're here, I should probably do my
job as a
quartermaster and manage stock
and oversee supply
refills and things like that so i don't
know uh well that's in the i think that's i put that in the airship information but i believe
it's 300 gold to restock the ship and pay the wages i think okay i'll check
fair enough carry on do something else while i check and this is like this is literally buying
things like food water uh buying things like spare equipment like ropes and planks you've used quite
a lot of it in the repairs on the ship before so yeah and also paying wages as well like this is
like paying the wolf pack their wage and stuff like that right um if you pay them more if you decide
to basically be like hey wolf pack you're getting a raise you can increase their morale because
they'll they'll be happier if you pay them more
it might not be a nation it might have been stuff i said i went to trot a lot a long time ago so
i'll check it but i believe it's about 300 gold per month, basically.
Is there a notice board where we park the airship
of people looking to find a crew or anything like that,
or people just sitting around like,
hey, I'm a 20th level wizard.
Need me?
Yes, teleportation circles. For free. No. Hey, I'm a 20th level wizard. Need me? Yes!
Teleportation circles.
For free!
No.
You get the sense, I will tell you now,
that you probably want to find people that you like
and think will be useful
and then encourage them to come join your crew.
Okay.
Okay.
Wilkie.
We'll find him in the tavern,
sat in the corner with their mysterious
stories
you're breached today
don't know why I said daddy
carry on
well I'm leaving him to it
this is on you guys really
so
I'll probably go to a blacksmith.
Oh, I'm coming with!
Yeah?
I need to do that.
Yeah.
I mean, finding a blacksmith is easy as pie.
This whole town,
you can see it's kind of split into tiers.
You have the upper tier,
which is the highest up,
like the further away from the
sea you get the more rich the area is um the middle part of the city is a more middle class
and then um the lower part of the city is where you kind of get like the poorer districts and
things like that um all three of them will have blacksmiths of different skill levels and of the
quality of goods that they can sell and the amount of money
they have to buy goods as well.
I'm guessing
Century is looking for somebody to help
fix up Herald.
And then Nova, you're looking
for the project.
Somebody to help you on the project.
It really depends on how much money
you guys are looking to spend.
How much money do we actually have to spend. And, yeah.
How much money do we actually have?
That's a good question, isn't it? As a question.
We currently have 855 gold, 300 silver, and I also have 300 GP of ethereum and a statuette of Starbane, which
I'm sure we could just, like, you know,
flog somewhere.
Did you need that? I think you need that Ethereum,
though, Kim, for project.
You
would be correct.
Yes.
Don't forget,
you can also, if you have things like
magic items you want to sell, big cities are the places that you can do that.
Yeah, I've got a couple of bits.
I've given all my stuff away.
Do I have anything?
Cool.
Yeah.
Fair.
Fair as.
Fair as.
Yeah, fair as.
We stocked up on potions and stuff Yeah but we did go through
A little bit
We've just been through hell
On our little volcanic
Escapade
We should do that as well while we're here
I actually still have
My potions of healing because the thing that
Screwed me wasn't HP
It was exhaustion
Yeah I've still got all my questions i think
we're actually party wise supply wise i think we're actually still good from from um so i don't
think we need that do we want to look for any see if they did any feather fall token oh it's not an action yeah no so more you can ask i mean this is i will make i will make
it clear just so you guys know right this is i consider this this is what i consider a major city
um which means that this is a place you can buy and sell magic items that you can find work like
if you want to fight if you you think that you need a bit
of a cash boost, and
you just want to go and find, like, some
easy jobs or, like,
bounties, this is a place you can do that as
well. This is a place you can perform
research. This is a place where
if you want to do things like
religious, you want to go and, like, visit
religious temples and, you know,
commune with the gods and
things like that this is all a place that you can do that um if you've got magic items to sell
you're going to need to go and find specific like a proper trader that will actually buy them like
a regular blacksmith probably isn't going to buy a magic item off of you because they're not
going to have the money to do that um but something like and you've met like companies
like it before like you've been to like the magic empor that. But something like, and you've met companies like it before, like you've been
to the Magic Emporiums and stuff, like the
larger trading companies, they'll buy
them for sure.
And then yeah, you're going to
need somewhere to sleep for the night as well.
Yeah, I also have the sequester spell scroll.
You do?
That is a very potent
worth a ton.
What does that do again?
It's the sequester spell.
A winning creature or an object can be hidden away,
safe from detection for the duration.
They become invisible, can't be targeted by any spells,
or, like, divination, or scrying, or anything.
They become suspended.
Time ceases to flow.
They don't grow older.
It's basically like suspended animation.
It's suspended animation, basically.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, but she'd be
safe.
I've got a better idea.
Sleeping beauty spell.
Could we compress it down
to a machine that
gives this ship an invisibility
cloak?
Maybe.
Ooh, deflect your shield.
That scroll alone.
You cannot use that scroll to do that.
If you want to hire
a master enchanter
to come up with some sort of
device that will make the ship invisible,
you could look into that.
He's hiring a new specialist, yeah.
Of course you can.
That would be amazing.
Absolutely.
I guess we need to meet some specialists
and then convince them to come to the ship, right?
And it won't be cheap.
So let's go to the most expensive place on the island.
On the sea, sorry.
Let's work our way down.
Start at the top.
The Silk Maiden.
Yeah.
The Silk Maiden.
Shall we head there?
I feel like Lucius isn't going to go for another option
because the words Silk Maiden
make it sound like exactly the kind of place
that he would want to stay in.
The devil's dance is not even on my radar.
It's like I've assumed we're all checking in
at the Silver Maiden
and Nova, is it what roughly?
I'm not sure about hotel
pricings. I keep getting it wrong.
A thousand gold an hour or something like that.
It's been
such a long time since we've been in a hotel.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Well, we'll do this in order because
Century and Nova specifically wanted to go find
a blacksmith and then this sparked the whole conversation so do you guys want to do that
first go with them and you can all go together okay sure blacksmith right so yeah do you want
to go to a basically an upper middle or lower tier blacksmith we'll work our way down
middle or lower tier blacksmith?
We'll work our way down.
So start at the top and work down?
Yeah, start at the top, work our way down.
We've got three days.
Okay.
Do you just want to get quotes from everyone?
Hmm.
Sure. Yeah, we'll get quotes
and then we'll weigh it up and see
what we can do. It depends what the project
is, right?
Yeah, well, I need an arm and a leg.
How much would that cost?
Probably a lot.
She literally needs an arm and a leg.
A high-end blacksmith
will also have a level of secrecy where we can sell
the Starbane statue, too.
Yeah. We're not going to sell the
Starbane statue. Or maybe
they're like a secret starbane worshiper
like yeah we can go around saying hail starbane to people yeah i'm sure this will work out fine
can i say it to the dragon where's the dragon let me just go do that to the dragon hold on
well uh when you go into the upper district of the city the main blacksmith that you find your way to is
it's called the Blackened Scale
and it is a
very quite fancy run
blacksmith. You can see it has
a very ornate shop front
and it has the image of a black dragon
like sailing over an anvil.
And you can see there is
a big cloud of like steam or smoke
kind of coming out of a back
chimney it's being angled away from the other buildings and when you step inside you can see
that there are a lot of attendants like staff members in sort of like very smart uniforms
on a kind of front of house where there are these racks of gleaming great swords and war hammers and
short swords bows pieces of armor on armor racks, like glistening
full-plated armor,
breastplate chainmail.
And one of them
is just a young human
lad comes up to you.
Good evening, good evening,
masters. How can I help you today?
Good evening.
I'm Sentinel Prime. Nice to meet you uh pleasure to meet you guardian
as well um is there something we can help you with i'm on a really important really important
mission um i need someone who could make me an arm and a leg for for a for a guardian like myself. Ah, that does explain
a few things. But not quite as
seven feet tall, just for clarity.
No, not quite as tall.
I am going to go fetch
the master. I think that she will
need to discuss this with you. This sounds like a very
complicated
procedure.
This is where...
Custom project. Okay. uh procedure this is where what's the custom custom project uh and he had yeah bespoke thank
you uh he heads out to the kind of back area he like lifts up a small you know um part of the the
counter and steps into a back room and you can hear kind of mutterings um and then emerging he doesn't come back instead this like six and a half feet
tall super muscular like really broad barreled chested dragonborn woman comes out the only
reason the only reason that you can tell that is a dragonborn uh woman is well not that it's
dragonball you can tell it's a woman just because she has this um very elaborate set of jewelry kind of all around her chest um and her frills
are slightly more softer and curved rather than being harsh but she's black scaled so she has
like black scales as dragonborn um and she kind of like comes out she has like a loose shirt on
and then a pair of like um uh trousers with a thick leather apron over the front.
But her arms are on...
She hasn't got any gloves on.
She just has these thick scales.
And she comes out like,
Ah!
You are the guardian who is requesting this custom project, yes?
Yes, I am, yes.
Ah, nice to meet you.
And she offers a big scaled hand.
I shake it. I saying i'm sentinel
prime uh maestro maestro acra at your service sentinel mr acra lovely to meet uh i you want to
my my assistant was um a little shaken by the details you want somebody to make a arm for a
guardian an arm and a leg for a guardian?
Yes.
I have a companion who was gravely injured, and I need
them to help me carry out some work.
But obviously they can't do that when they're missing
an arm and a leg.
Yes, obviously. An interesting
project. I quite like
having unique challenges, I must
say.
This is definitely something that i could do i
would need your companion to come by for measurements we need to make sure that we
fit something which is going to be comfortable but also will allow them to function as normal
if you have a if you hire a quite frankly if you don't hire a skilled blacksmith, this could be more trouble than it's worth for your friend.
Okay.
Could you give me an idea of the timescale?
We're only here for a few days.
Well, normally this sort of thing would take at least a week.
I could rush the job, but that will just cost more.
But it's doable.
I can drop some other projects I have on them. You know, I have some
projects I can put to the side for the moment, but
I would need to make this a rush
order.
How big is this guardian?
Are they small, or are they your
size, or smaller?
They're smaller than myself.
They're more svelte. They're not as heavily
built as myself.
That will make things cheaper.
I could make something. They're more svelte. They're not as heavily built as myself. That will make things cheaper. Okay.
I could make something.
It would probably cost around...
The raw materials, you're looking at about 100 gold,
and then I'd probably take that per limb,
and then say 50 gold for the rush job of my time,
so 250 I could do this for.
They will be...
It won't be a functioning hand.
I can't make a functioning
hand. It would be a
prosthetic, effectively.
They would be able to perhaps grip something
but not have any fine motor control.
Okay.
I think that will work.
Or I could affix a blade to it
is this companion a warrior
or
they're more of a messenger
but the blade
would help
that would actually make things
easier
in a way
or at least it would be more functional
exactly open letters better yeah
what about this every every guardian blade in a letter opener what about the wing every well they
can use it carefully that's true do you need a wing for this guardian
she had a wing
she did have a wing very true
that's unfortunately going to be
a little bit on my
that might be a bit beyond my skill
I know
your kind are a mystery to most of us
I don't know how many of your functions
operate I can make a basic prosthetic,
but a wing is a bit too complicated.
If we had to spend money on a wing, we'd put it on
Quill first.
That's very true.
Yes, little Ganassi.
This was going to be a surprise,
but I was
working on a wing for Quill.
A will for Quill.
That's why you measured me!
Yeah.
She measured you and you didn't think.
You're so smart.
Someone measured you.
It's Nova.
She takes weird measurements all the time.
I mean, you're the only person
that I've measured on the crew so far.
You took a hologram of me once.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was to do research,
but that wasn't measurements.
I didn't measure you.
But, I mean, I could...
So, Project Flock Together was basically
I was trying to figure out
how to give you a fully functioning wing.
And I'm kind of maybe halfway through the project, but that's why I wanted to see a
blacksmith too.
Hi.
I need some help with the leather working, but I think that maybe once I finish this
project, I could maybe construct, you know, apply what I learned here and make something
functional for Harold as well.
I mean, that's your business.
I can't really advise you on that.
If you need the assistance of a leather
worker, I can do it.
It's not my speciality. I mainly work in
metal, but I can recommend you a few people
if you wish. Oh, sorry.
I need a blacksmith as well. I do need a blacksmith.
Sorry. Leather working is the other thing.
Right. Any metal
work, I can accomplish.
What sort of nature of the job is it just uh
uh so i have schematics do you have a plan schematics yeah yeah she looks over that
schematics and things like that and then yeah quill's gonna and i think yeah right maybe just
jump ahead a little bit like if i just kind of go through where i am now and blah blah blah and
like because all i know in my notes is that i need a blacksmith check yeah you do you need you need her to make a check so she looks is like this is this is quite good
this is actually clever stuff i'll tell you what i'll make i'll i'll work on this for you
but if you i want a copy of these schematics if you don't mind if you make a copy if you make me
a copy of these schematics then i'll do i'll just do the work for you. Okay, yeah, thank you. Deal.
But the friend's limbs will still cost
because that's raw materials and more
of my time. This was a quick job.
Cool.
Is it going to cost us an arm
and a leg?
I've already given the price.
I appreciate the joke, but I've given the price.
I was a bit slow.
I get that.
So I just had to get it across.
You don't need to.
You can stop.
Hello!
So I normally take half up front and then half on completion.
She's looking at Sentry when she says this.
Okay.
What do we think, guys?
Yes.
What?
Quillswing, yes.
Harold?
Yes to everything, yes.
125.
And then 125 on completion.
And then 125 afterwards, yeah.
Would this make you happy, Sentry?
Yeah.
This would make me happy, yeah.
I will say that she did kind of sacrifice part of her body in lava to let us escape.
Well, she saved our lives.
Yes, and also many lives.
The Dragonborn woman looks impressed at that.
So I feel like that...
No, he's already counting out the money in the background.
It warrants a couple of limbs in return you know
here's maybe all the lights back sorry you sacrificed your limbs here are limbs for you
thank you you sacrificed all the guardians like um yes whatever you're happy with it's a small cost
for a massive step to saving the guardian race he's offered to help me she's offered to help me
fulfill my purpose with the prime matrix see in which case another reason without her i couldn't
i couldn't do it by myself you've got too much to do 120 121 122 123 124 125 125. There you go. What are you guys talking about?
Nothing.
Never mind.
It's solved.
Thank you.
Right.
Here's 125.
Thank you very much.
Over.
Thank you, Guardian.
Sentinel Prime, I believe.
If you bring your... Have your friend come to my shop.
We'll look after her while she's here.
And then I can take measurements.
We can also make sure that she's comfortable with the prosthetics,
make sure she can walk and use them appropriately.
Do you have any other business?
Do you need weapons?
You seem the sort to, if you're running around in volcanoes and lava
and fighting alongside guardians,
you seem the type that need good blades and good steel.
Anything I can offer you or any other business
that we can conduct?
I'm interested in upgrading
my hammer.
But I don't know how to go about
this.
I want to make it better.
I want to make it better.
I mean, better as in...
Okay.
Is this the hammer?
She points at the hammer in the back.
She looks at it and she just looks around.
Well, from my kind of perspective,
there's not much more I could do to it.
It's already incredibly well-weighted.
Whatever material's been used to make it
is lighter than I expected.
Handle's been wrapped nicely.
Yeah, there's not much more a blacksmith can do to this. If you want
to make it, if you want to get it enchanted,
I recommend you go and see
Vistra.
Vistra.
Vistra. She runs
the local Dalegeld trading
company outpost. She's an
ember elf, or they're an ember elf, I
should say. Very good
enchanter. Knows their way around magical enchantments.
Great.
Have you seen anyone
with any armor or anything?
Of course I've got armor.
Better armor?
I mean, I've got
as good armor as I can get without it
being heavy armor.
Or enchantment.
Just check it.
I was thinking you could maybe put another hammerhead
on the other end.
Of my hammer.
Throw the balance off.
Or two hammers.
You can't
really get the power in the swing that way.
You know?
Obviously, yes.
Trust your friend.
She knows what she's talking about.
Could you make full plate armor that's as light as a feather
and doesn't inhibit my spellcasting in any way?
I can make full plate armor.
I can make it lighter than some other.
I can make it lighter than steel,
but she kind of looks you over and it's like, well,
actually, maybe you could wear it, but
wearing armor is just not about the weight. You need to be
trained in how to wear it properly.
You're not much of a...
You don't seem the type
who's ever learned how to
wear a suit of armor.
Ghastly things makes you so sweaty.
Exactly.
Also, if you learn how to
wear it, I can make it for you.
I'd never do such a thing.
I just thought maybe there's a chance that you can
make lighter than cloth and look
as beautiful as fabric
but also protect me.
Is there anything at all that you can
give us that protects him a little bit
more than he's already protected?
Because there's not much there.
If he doesn't know how to wear it, there's nothing I
can do. Vistra's your best bet. Maybe
they can enchant something.
I've heard about spells and things that
can make you more protected, but
it's not my forte. I'm more suited to dealing
with warriors or folks
who wear armor.
Well, even so,
you've been very, very helpful.
Extremely so.
Business is business.
We should go see the Dale Guild company then
for Vistra.
Yes. Before we do that,
Kim, just to save you some time,
in fact, I'm not going to roll.
If you'd gone to a cheaper
blacksmith, I would have had to roll to see if they could
do what you want to do, but Akra is
a pretty... she's a master blacksmith, I would have had to roll to see if they could do what you want to do, but Akra is a pretty...
She's a master blacksmith, so
she can just make... So you can count
that as one check. The blacksmith
is done. Thank you.
Cool. What's the turnaround
time for these projects?
The guardians...
The project for your little Ganassi friend here,
that'll take me an afternoon.
But the guardians' limbs, that'll take me an afternoon. But the Guardian's Limbs,
that'll take three days.
We were leaving in three days.
I suggest you come back and visit me before you do.
Do you know anything about
equipping...
armoring an
airship? Maybe installing
weaponry or something like that.
We have something to install on our airship, maybe installing weaponry or something like that. We have something to install on our airship.
Siege weapons aren't, again, they're not really
my forte. Armour I could probably do.
I could make up some armour panels
and have some of my assistants come
up and put them onto your ship, for sure.
But that's a big job. That's a lot
of armour, depending on the size of your ship.
Okay, okay.
Are there any airship manufacturers in the area?
Manufacturers, no.
There's a couple of folks on the dock tower
that know how to do repairs.
They can help you with, you know, things like that.
But actually, kind of anything more complicated than that,
you need to go to the Sky Cities.
Right, thank you.
Things like armor plating, it's expensive, I should warn you.
Things like armoring a whole airship,
you'd be looking at thousands of gold for something like that.
But if you've got the coin...
That's a lot.
Yes, that's...
That's a lot, yes.
OK, OK, well, we'll check in with Vistra
and also bring down Herald as well. Vishthtan that's their name it's not vistra
i got that wrong it's vishtan we all make mistakes i only speak to them every once in a while i just
know that they're good at enchantment some of my clients who order custom weapons and armor then go
to see them for the enchantments afterwards. Okay, good.
Wonderful. Well, we'll go see Vishtan
then and bring a
herald to you as well.
Exactly.
Sure.
You can just basically send word
for the ship and somebody will escort a herald
down there. We don't have to roleplay
that out. That's easily done.
You've paid half, so they'll do that.
Yeah, if you go searching for Vishtan
and specifically the Dale Geld Trading Company,
it doesn't take long to find...
It's actually in the middle section of the city,
but the place looks far better than its competition around it.
The storefront is a very beautiful kind of villa-like building with these beautiful kind of
like coppery silver and silver tiles uh that cover the the roof um whitewashed kind of polished stone
walls um and inside is a an arrangement of various tables and cabinets and display cases
that have mundane equipment
but also have
embellishments.
Things like spy glasses,
magnified light, unusual
trinkets, things that people
would normally be quite pricey for common folk to buy.
There are racks of
quite noble looking finery um you know
different outfits and traveling clothes and things like that as well um there's a whole section which
is very like different custom-made leather boots um all with unique patterns and styles and then
at the far end behind a very long counter you can see and i think this is i don't know if you guys have canonically met another
an ember elf yet but you see an elf they they appear quite lithe and slender and their skin
is like polished onyx it's pitch black but it has like a metallic like a a mineral stony sheen to it
um they do have long elven ears,
like a wild elf or a high elf,
but they have absolutely no facial or body hair whatsoever,
including things like eyebrows and hair on their head.
This ember elf in particular wears a very brightly colored shawl,
which kind of wraps around their head and then down
and kind of covers underneath their chin as well.
But they have amethysts
literally set into their skin
around their eyes in like a curling
pattern.
And they are dressed in these kind of long
elaborate robes
as they look towards you and just say
My humblest greetings
customers. Please welcome.
Are you Vishtra?
I am not Vistra.
I am Vistan.
That's right. Sorry.
I wrote that one down
first. I was corrected.
We heard you're an enchantress, and
this must be the Dale Gould company.
Enchanter is the
generally preferred term.
Yes.
Enchantist, sure. This is the generally term. Yes, enchantist.
Sure.
This is the Dale Gale Company, yes. I create
enchanted relics,
magical items,
things like that, yes. It is a passion
of mine.
It's how I got this store.
I smiled.
I think all of us are looking for some kind of either enchantment on our mundane items or upgrades to our magical ones.
Yes, that is entirely possible.
I have the materials to perform custom work if there is something in particular you are looking for.
custom work if there's something in particular you are looking for.
I also have some pre-made items
of for the more
adventurous
customer
or traveler.
I keep a stock of
potions, things like that, scrolls.
Oh.
What are you in the market for, my dear
customers?
There's almost like a sleepy
laziness to him as he's kind of like talking his eyes are kind of half lidded as if he's not quite
there hmm okay yeah there is a little element of like this guy does seem a bit high
sure wow um i mean if you've got scrolls and i guess the first thing we could look for is a seem a bit high. Sure. Wow.
I mean, if you've got scrolls, then I guess
the first thing we could look for is a teleportation
circle?
It is not one I have
currently in stock, but it is
something that I could procure
if needed.
Okay. Do you know how much that would be
or how long it would take to find?
It would not take me long.
I have a few contacts still that I could speak with.
Perhaps a week at most is the longest period of time.
In terms of cost, it is a quite powerful spell,
but you would be looking around and then he kind of
seems to forget what he was thinking about.
My apologies.
Six to seven
hundred gold or some such, I believe.
I will need to check my
capital.
Okay, okay. In that that case let's forget that one
for now what about anyone else ayla your hammer hi yeah literally hi um i have a a hammer that
i was just i was wondering if there's any kind of enchantments that you could just make it
even better than it already
is because it's pretty great.
Yes, please place it on the counter.
Let me analyze it.
Okay.
He waves his hands
into a few gestures and kind of like
spreads them over the hammer.
I can see that it already has some
potent magical energy to it.
Enchanting this further would be... well, it will either be costly to acquire the rare ingredients
required, or if you can bring me the ingredients, it would be cheaper. There is a strong element of wind and air and storm magic about this thing.
There are a number of ingredients that I could make use of to enhance its properties,
if that is what you are looking for.
What would those items be?
Oh, various things.
Storm Giant's blood.
The heart of a blue dragon.
A behir tongue.
I'm fresh out of all of those things.
That is a shame.
If you ever require any, please come and speak with me.
That's fine. I'm good.
Thank you, then. That's very, very informative.
I could procure
those ingredients for you, but it will
take time and considerable
gold.
Great.
Guys, I need a stone giant.
Yeah.
Or a blue dragon. Storm giant.
Storm giant. Yeah. I need a dragon. Storm giant, my dear companion. I need a dragon, a giant, blood.
The bear tongue.
A behir.
A behir.
Sorry.
It's not a bad pronunciation on bear.
I just haven't heard that before. It's not a bad pronunciation on there.
I just haven't heard that before. Would you like to see the items I currently have available?
Oh, yeah.
You're looking for more custom things.
Of course.
I'll be able to show you.
Yeah.
I always want to see cool new things.
Lucius?
I have a request.
Possible.
Of course, my good friend.
Oh, I see.
Well,
he goes, he
seems to like
reach down beneath the counter
and then
begins pulling things out of a
very small chest.
The chest could not possibly
hold the things he's bringing out.
He's got it!
He's got one!
It's a very
ornate, beautiful chest.
It is a Leomund secret chest.
That's what he wants!
It was still this guy's chest.
It will be mine.
Oh yes, it will be mine.
The first thing he pulls out
is a large pearl
which is engraved with
various arcane symbols.
Here we have
a pearl of power.
It will replenish a small
amount of a spellcaster's energies.
He kind of
pulls it out.
He
brings out a beautiful
I'm sorry, spellcasters just went
hmm
he brings out a
an orange necklace
well it's a necklace of like
small orange beads
he brings it out
holds it up
a very popular item
a necklace of fireballs.
Very dangerous.
He places it to the side.
He then brings out a small silver circlet
set with a green emerald in the middle.
Ah, this is quite a lovely item.
It will make the wearer more intelligent.
A headband of intellect.
He places it to the side.
Now one of my favourite
pieces. He reaches in
and pulls out what appears to
be a very
like, very lavish,
very well, um,
you know,
uh, decorated
broom.
And then he holds it in the air
he says something under his breath
let's go and the broom hovers in the air
I want it I want it I want it
the broom of flying
it's very cool
I also have various potions
of healing and such
one of my scrolls
that I currently have
is a scroll of Conjure
Elemental.
Yes, these are some of the
more interesting items
I have.
How much is the broom?
Ah,
my beautiful broom of
flying. This is
2,000 gold pieces.
Thank you. Okay. My beautiful broom of flying. This is 2,000 gold pieces. Ha ha ha ha.
Thank you.
Okay.
What's the cheapest item you've just shown us?
The necklace of fireballs is likely my most expensive.
It's the least expensive.
It is 300 gold.
Okay.
Can I try the circlet on?
I want to see if it goes with the rest of my garb.
Of course, sir.
Holds it out.
What does it look like?
It's like a thin
silver band with a green
emerald set into the central
area, and it's kind of got
a silver oval
behind the gemstone.
It's very plain.
It's very, very...
It's not flashy. Yes, it's very plain it's very very um it's not flashy yes it's gonna work
with the current season of fashion i suppose it's not very in august haven but i'm not going there
right now maybe it does appeal to the the the current area i'm not sure i don't think it goes
i don't think it goes but it's not about fashion that. But it's not about fashion. I'm sorry to hear that, sir.
Hmm?
Okay.
It doesn't go.
Sorry.
He just holds a hand out for the circlet.
How much is it?
Just out of interest.
I'm not interested, but, you know.
The headband?
A thousand gold pieces, sir.
I look at Nova.
No, we don't.
No.
We do have things to sell.
You have things?
I am always looking for new relics to purchase.
If you sell a few things, then yes.
Or perhaps we can arrange some sort of trade.
Equivalent value for equivalent
value.
I am very open.
What about the
sept of the trident, Lucius?
How attached are you to that?
That was pretty.
You can't give that away.
It's a gift. Oh. No, we can't. No, you're right, we can't give that away. It's a gift.
Oh.
No, we can't.
No, you're right, we can't.
Also, we're about to go back.
Yeah.
Exactly.
It's not.
It's not.
Yeah.
Hey, look, no one else is throwing stuff on the table.
A shame.
Quite a lovely item.
It's made by the Tritons, I believe.
Indeed. Quite right. Beautiful. quite a lovely item made by the Tritons I believe indeed quite right
beautiful
you have such beautiful gifts here
might I just say you have a fine selection
thank you sir
I am most pleased by your compliment
how much would you give me
for a breastplate just a regular
I've got a breastplate here.
I do not...
You are best selling that
to a blacksmith of the city.
I should have sold that to the blacksmith.
I am less interested in these things.
Can we do a little retcon
and say I sold it
at the...
I've got three days. Just say you sold
the bastard.
Can we say we sold it now,
then I can put it into this pot.
Of course you can.
So it's just standard.
So they basically, in this
town, they'll pretty much offer you half of
what it costs to buy it brand new.
So the breastplate, she would have
offered you 200 gold for it.
Okay, yeah. I'll just sell that.
Okay.
I'll add 200 to the pot.
Yep.
Cool.
Yeah, sorry.
How much
for a scroll, a high-level
scroll, a very
powerful scroll?
What scroll or spell
does it have inscribed upon it, my good
friend? It has inscribed
upon it a Sequestre
spell. You actually
see his half-lidded eyes
fully come awake.
Really?
Quite a powerful spell.
I would be...
I would personally be interested in buying this
from you
okay
does that increase
the price
it does not but it means that you
have a direct sale sometimes
and you see he gets more animated in the way
that he speaks sometimes with these
things I need to find a buyer
to make sure that I get my income
back. But this, no, this
I would invest some of my personal
savings into this. This is
of an interest to me.
Let me just
see here. Are you sure we don't need
that quill?
Depends.
We can't possibly
peddle such a high,
highly profitable and powerful
scroll such as that.
We couldn't possibly.
We do need it.
It could also be very useful for a small person
who we are trying to save.
Exactly.
It's, you know, someone's life,
such a powerful item, it would need to be
a high amount of gold
for us to get rid of it, right?
I don't even think he's listening to you guys.
He's just doing the math in his head.
It would have to be about 45,000.
What could come from it?
I would be willing to pay you...
7,000 gold pieces.
Hmm. Hmm.
Could you take 7,000 gold
in place of
not fulfilling what we wanted to do
or saving a life?
Yeah.
Messenger ring?
Whose life?
Just saying that...
Messenger ring.
Voila!
No, that's not how sequester works.
If we go there and sequester her...
We can hide her on the ship.
Yeah, we can bring her to the ship and hide her.
Just so you guys know, you are aware that she's...
You literally, like, put her into stasis.
She's not conscious if you sequester her.
Yeah. But it's better than Starbane firing a big ol' laser at us.
I don't want to be in a situation where we could have used the scroll,
and instead we have 7000 gold and a problem.
Big problem that begins with the letter S.
Problem but 7000 gold.
Yeah.
That 7000 gold would have to also
rectify the issue.
Okay. Also keep in mind
Valor has to be willing to be put under as well.
That's true and she's a very
stubborn little girl.
But if she knew we were in danger.
She's a very stubborn little girl who will try and fight instead.
Starbing wouldn't fire a laser at a ship that has his daughter on it,
but if we sequester her away, he could just destroy us.
He wouldn't know, but if we sequestered her, he wouldn't know where she was.
If anything, we want him to know that we have her, right? right yeah it's a form of protection to us i guess
this is a discussion for another time it is yeah how is this the thing that's a discussion for
another time sell the breastplate that's a discussion for now but sell a sequester
scroll for 7 000 gold what are going to buy with it? Everything!
Yeah, broom of flying.
We haven't had much money for a while. It's getting to him now.
What are you going to
buy? The world!
That takes a lot.
With hookers
and blackjack.
Man, alright. We're not selling it now hey sorry bud
it's not for sale
we'll consider
we're here for a few days
we'll sleep on it
I sincerely hope that you do
I could be willing to
up the price
perhaps if you are reluctant to sell it sincerely hope that you do. I could be willing to up the price perhaps
if you are that reluctant to sell it.
As you can see,
we're very
attached to this particular item
so it's causing some
discussion
internally. We'll get back to you.
Out of curiosity, what do you think
you could stretch to
if it was to help our discussions?
I would offer another thousand.
8,000 gold.
8,000.
Okay, as we say, we'll sleep on it.
I am here with my treasures awaiting for your return.
And he begins putting all of his magic items back in his chest.
I say we put this up for auction.
Somewhere profitable.
If you're going to get money,
we put it up for auction and compete
for it.
He already added
another grand instantly
when we said that we didn't want to sell it for that.
With the pressure of an auction,
how many people would up their bid?
See how much he does with competition.
He still has to make a profit on that as well,
so he's still underselling.
No, he wanted it personally.
He wants it personally.
You get the impression that he said
he wants this for his personal usage.
Oh, I see.
This guy's
clearly a wizard.
The way that the spells...
He's a wizard. He probably wants this for his own
spellbook, basically.
A wizard knows
another wizard.
He just wants to
sequester himself away so he gets a decent night's sleep.
Well,
it's more than like...
You know what wizards are like.
Wizards always want, like, magical knowledge.
Yeah, they want every spell.
Okay, well...
Well, I am sad that we could not do any business today.
As I say, a few days.
We're here.
Yes, of course.
We'll return.
Come back any time.
He just smiles as he watches.
Eyes kind of flicker towards Quill
and where the scroll was.
I'm sweating.
The birds sweat.
No.
My storm eye, it just,
it molds into the picture of a gold coin,
just dollar signs. He of a gold coin. Just dollar signs.
He'll have that too.
Well, if you guys don't want to buy anything here,
what else do you want to do?
What else do we have to do when we're here?
Excuse me.
Mark, just while they
decide what to do next, can I just quickly
our character,
I also need to do some enchantment research. Can this guy help
with that? And, like... Yeah, do you want to ask him?
Ask him your character.
Uh, do I? Or should we just, like,
skip ahead? Because I feel like... No, I think that this is something
where you'd need to ask him. Like, if, like,
if you want him to, like, give you
some advice, that's a good roleplay
ask him. Okay. Yeah.
Uh, so I guess while everyone's kind of, like,
sort of arguing and uh
it's sort of filtering out i'd be like um um excuse excuse me um uh yes my ganassi ben
uh i've got a little project i'm working on um i'm basically trying to make a wing for the the bird
uh you are interested in what do they call it? Magitek.
Sort of, yeah.
So I've made this schematic and I've got a blacksmith working on the kind of finer parts of the skeleton.
But I need something to enchant it.
I know I need a rare item to power it, but I also need the knowledge that goes with that to apply it to the whole wing.
You do. The difficulty here is
that you need to make
it lighter than air itself.
The materials will be heavier compared
to the, and he looks at Quill,
the one who will be using it
to likely be used to. You need to
make it lighter and give
it the natural inclination
to fly. Magic and things are sympathetic to each other sometimes.
A thing wants to be wood, wants to be wood.
Stone wants to be stone.
Leather wants to be leather and metal wants to be metal.
When you want these things to do things that they are not usually meant to do,
that is where magic comes in.
usually meant to do.
That is where magic comes.
For your little project, my dear,
I highly recommend the essence of an air elemental.
A destroyed air elemental often leaves behind a residue, a powder.
Gather that, infuse that into the equipment, the materials,
bind it with a simple spell that I can show you, and that will be
sufficient.
Wow, thank you. Fascinating.
Where am I going to find an arrow elemental?
I do happen to have a
scroll of conjure element.
You can conjure? Hmm.
Yes. How much is that?
Well, as you seem to be a budding enchantress,
I would sell it for 350 gold.
Lower than its normal asking price.
Okay.
To assist a budding young enchanter.
Thank you.
That's really generous.
I better go back and check what these
guys are doing but um i'm sure we'll be coming back anytime soon so um yeah i'll you are welcome
anytime bye eight thousand gold what if if he's willing to go higher? What if we said 8,000 and the circlet of intelligence?
Hmm. Do we actually
want that? Lucia said
it doesn't go.
It doesn't go, but
Quill could use it, because it's
intelligence's wizard.
Yeah.
I could use it, because I want
to be smarter.
Ayla could use it because I want to be smarter Ayla could use it Ayla could use it
get rid of that negative one
excuse me
my mind and intelligence is
perfectly fine
thank you very much
or maybe even higher
maybe we can push them to 10.
Maybe 10. Imagine that.
10.
My sentence is 8, by the way.
Is it?
Wow.
Sentry's never been formally educated.
I thought I was the dumb one.
I'm not world smart, guys.
No, she's street smart.
She can know anything.
I'm not world smart, guys. No. She's street smart. I'm street smart.
Yeah, like a soldier.
Like a regimented soldier.
Well, while you guys are going to have these conversations, because I know you're still going to be debating what to do,
where are you heading next?
Like, where do you want to spend the night?
Do you want to do anything in particular?
I'm guessing you want to go to the Silk Maiden.
Yes.
Do they have a hairdresser there?
Not the Silk Maiden,
but you would be able to find one.
Yeah, you'd be able to find one
for sure. Mohawk.
I don't know.
Yes.
I'd ask at that hotel when we get there.
Okay. On the way,
making your way to the Silk Maiden is not a difficulty whatsoever.
It's in the upper district of the port where you have to wind down.
You know, you've kind of made your way into the middle area.
You kind of wind your way back up through these middling stairs and asking directions and being pointed in the general direction.
You can find your way to the Silk Maiden.
Along the way, you do notice that there are there is a bounty, there are bounty boards
posted around the city
and there are two postings currently
that are replicated throughout all of them.
One
is, it simply reads
Duke Leon
offers a bounty of 10 gold
per sahagin head and
500 gold for the head of the sahagin
with skin as white as bone bigger than any seen before The second one says... bodied and well-armed mercenaries to deal with a group of gnolls that have been ransacking the vineyards and injured
many sisters. Large rewards,
details discussed in person.
Okay.
There's also, sorry, the last
thing on that bounty board as well
is it's quite
a colourful poster, and
it's got an image
of two devils
fighting,
but they're standing on these like balance poles.
And one's got like a long sword.
One's got like a net and a hammer in its hand.
And they're fighting whilst balancing on these poles.
Um,
and in big text,
it says,
uh,
basically it says,
um,
the ultimate fight,
the ultimate test of bravery.
Are you ready for the devil's dance?
Best club in the city.
Come one, come all.
Pit your wits and your courage.
Big gold prizes, it says at the bottom.
Awesome.
Big gold prizes.
A coliseum.
Praise the askerer we aren't
they're on the poles because there's fire
beneath them
like a fire
brilliant I love that
if that ruckus is going on
around all the bedrooms
we'd never get any sleep
that's true
but we would be
very entertained yeah also true maybe also we'd be
making even more money because we send aileron yep yeah um but you see that on the way uh you
eventually make your way to a very extravagant two-stor, um, that sits on the very edge of like the wall of the upper tier.
So it actually looks out on the sea and the rest of the city.
Um,
and outside there is not like a hanging sign,
but there is this kind of freestanding painted,
almost like a portrait,
very art deco of a maiden wearing the silk dress that spills and billows around her
um and you can see very very wealthy men and women of all different races dwarves dragonborns humans
orcs coming and going um most of them have the fashion here is kind of very renaissance italy
they have these big puffy sleeves they've kind of got like these big kind of like collars around
their necks large pantaloons with like little kind of hose and socks um and they are coming
going and seeing most of you they're kind of casting a curious eye in your direction as they
see you approaching the the silk maiden um as you enter the very heavy scent of lavenders and perfume mixed with coffee um and spices kind of
hits you as you enter you can see that the whole place the ceiling is completely obscured by dozens
of beautiful silks that have been hung up on the ceiling so it's like walking under dozens of these
blankets and cloths above you that kind of gently rustle in the wind.
And you can see that there are very, very well-dressed servants in attendance who are attending to small private tables where groups of three or four or two are sat enjoying dinners.
They're drinking wine, looking out the windows onto the ocean there is a
lyrist playing
a human woman with a
beautiful alaya carved from
sort of a white wood
is just gently playing a very soft
tune in the background
as you enter this place
and yeah there's a few curious glances
your way but otherwise
otherwise all good And yeah, there's a few curious glances your way, but otherwise...
Otherwise all good.
Otherwise all good.
Ayla's keeping her mouth shut because she knows that this is the type of place she'll say something sarcastic and get everyone into trouble.
Yeah, well, yeah, that's true.
One of the kind of well-dressed attendants kind of comes and looks at you,
you know, kind of curiously like,
ah, good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
Are you looking for a table for dinner or...
No, we're looking for accommodation, if possible.
Accommodation, of course.
Let me go and fetch the mistress.
Please follow me.
And he leads you to a very elegant
dark wood bar and behind it you can see there are dozens you know hundreds of bottles of different
different colored liquid forming like this rainbow pattern basically behind the bar uh the attendant
dashes off um and then uh emerges again and and the woman that follows him is stands out.
Uh,
she is a dwarven woman,
but you would recognize her as it clearly being of Savonin descent.
She has this blonde,
sunny hair.
Um,
she's very well dressed in the local fashions of like a kind of regal gown with like big sleeves,
but she has the look of,
you know, the kind of deep South gown with like big sleeves but she has the look of you know the kind of
deep south southern bell um with her hair kind of like piled up in like like like ribbons and things
like that and yeah she comes out and she's like and she she has that accent she has the the the
southern bell uh female foghorn leghorn like well what do we have here and she kind of like
fancies her
I love her already
are you good folks are looking for some fine
accommodations here in the city
yes we heard of
no finer an establishment
oh my good gentleman
you are so so
kind to say such things
you can call me
Mistress Honey Sweet.
And she kind of gives her hand to be
kissed.
Lucius, Therion, Elowen,
Elinasto, pleasure.
And my wonderful
companions, they'll introduce themselves, I'm sure.
What an
exciting bunch. Not
often we get travelers of your kind around here.
Now, you are seeking accommodations?
Yes, we are, yes.
I have several fine rooms which you are most welcome to make yourselves available for,
for the small price of five gold each per evening.
That is very reasonable.
Well, clearly you are a man of culture and of exquisite wealth, sir.
Is there anything I can do to...
Is there any VIP suites or included packages?
Well, if you were...
Every time. Every time, Lucius.
If you were willing to
pay some more gold, of course,
I could ensure that you get a fine
room, but I leave such
discretionary matters to
your assumption.
Well, um...
What do we think?
I think, yes, we've easily got the money to...
Sounds good to me.
...cover that.
I think after what we've been through,
a really nice room would be...
My goodness, you are a tall one.
And she kind of looks up at Ayla.
And then she kind of wrinkles her nose.
Would you be caring for any rooms with a bath as well
they don't come as standard no not all of my customers i can't talk right now because um
let's just i'm gonna i'm gonna say something bad i can't can't
okay she's on a vow she's very honorable to her kind.
She's speaking only after a full, some sort of festival honoring her ancestors or something.
I'm sure.
She'll just be nodding.
What a quaint little custom.
Indeed.
Yes, baths for everybody.
Of course.
I will have to charge a small amount extra
it will be an extra gold per bath
just the hot water takes some time
is that
within our confines Nova
sure
do they have a bath
that will fit me in it
oh my goodness we will definitely find something for you.
Okay, I'm sold.
Okay.
Only the most comfortable for our guardian here.
I will do my very best, gentlemen.
She's water resistant.
Clearly.
If you would be so kind,
just make your payments for your first evening
up front, and then we can discuss
any future rates.
Of course.
I'll let you handle that, Nova.
Okay.
One, two,
three.
That's five gold each, and then if you want to
it's six gold with a
bath for everybody.
Six gold each.
Wait.
Six gold each.
I was including the DM.
Yeah, you were.
Yeah, if you slide over 30 gold, she'll take it.
Done.
Yep.
She gestures over, and one of the well-dressed attendants
leads you up into the second floor.
You're pretty sure that there are nicer rooms
that are down the corridor,
but you are led to a set of very nice, very comfortable rooms.
They are clearly not the best rooms here.
And you are...
You didn't pay him any extra.
You are led down.
There aren't baths in the rooms.
Having a bath in your room would be extravagantly expensive like that's
kind of like a royalty thing instead there are three bathrooms at the end of the like the hallway
basically that can be separated and then you can basically uh hot water is brought in and filled up
um and then you are taken in one at a time um basically mistress do you know if you go and find her yes
yes my dear
and you can see that well you have to go and find her
like if you call for her she doesn't come
one of the attendants might come and find you
and say the mistress is downstairs
attending to other guests
so you'll need to go and find her
do you have a
concierge
you are I am here her. Do you have a concierge?
You are... I am here to assist if you have any requests, sir.
Do you know of any hair salons in the area?
Of course, there are several here.
There are beauticians, there is a bathhouse that you can visit with, I'm told, a day to perform massages and haircuts
and shaving, hair waxing
if it is required.
Hair waxing?
Yes, it is the latest trend
in the port. Body hair
is seen as something of
a blemish to be removed.
But yes, there are several here
that if you wish to visit them, they're very skilled.
Could you name the closest one that has walk-ins yeah he gives you the name he gives you the name of a hairdresser i don't have hairdressers written down fun you don't so
no i don't so yes but he can point you in the direction of a very good hairdresser
uh if that's what you require i'll tell the group that I'm just popping out for a few hours.
Okay.
Okay.
With that, Lucius goes and
gets a haircut. It costs him
probably a gold total.
Well,
it depends. Do you have that?
Do you have a gold?
Why depends?
Well, you're going gonna die as well right um
guys that's why i'm literally just about to close it out so i don't want to yeah carry on with this
conversation sorry sorry uh just save the gold yeah yeah it's i'm i wasn't asking you to do an
rp thing with nova i'm just saying mark off a gold with Nova, I'm just saying mark off a gold
I know, I'm just saying mark off a gold
and then next week, Trot can tell us the haircut
he gets
that's what I was trying to build to
and then I was interrupted
right, you've killed me
okay
that's it
we're finishing there
what a cliffhanger
yeah
not everyone can be a big cliffhanger
Tom okay not everyone can be a big
cliffhanger
what is a cliffhanger
what was her
copy find out next week
I'm curious
well with that I mean to be honest that was we were ending on like
a city thing there wasn't really much i could do that thank you everybody thanks for joining us for
this um experiment in the remote play we will be back next week we'll be continuing the remote play
for the time being until things settle down a little bit the idea is that we will go back to
the studio basically as soon as we can as soon as we can get a nice, safe way for us to do it.
The nice thing with more and more people self-isolating,
that will be easiest for us to do as more people do it
because we'll be interacting with less people.
So, yeah, stay at home. Wash your hands.
Big love. Thank you for all the donations.
Thanks, cast, for joining us and getting all this set up.
Thank you, Trot, who's done a lot of work setting up the remote play.
Big thank you, Chris Trot, for that. Thank you, Trot, who's done a lot of work setting up the remote play. Big thank you, Chris Trot, for that.
Thank you, Trot.
It's fun.
Yeah.
Thank you,
and we'll see you next week.
See you next week.
