or the Devil's Dance Challenge. Yeah, you can see this circular arena. It's about 40 feet across. 40 feet radius kind of thing. Not radius. Circumference. Diameter, I think is the word. I'm dumb. And one of them with this thin, like, it's maybe

six inches wide wooden board with these ropes hanging down from it. And it's very sturdily set into the walls. And this seems to be the nature of the challenge itself. And you've seen your first match, there is betting available,

so if any of you wish to take part, this is now the time to do so. There are three challenges as well. There was the Gnome, the Wild Elf, and then the Guardian. And if you wish to arrange a higher wager with those challenges you may do so you tell me i feel like if i don't do it tom's gonna glare at me until i do

well i mean one of you two like you're the big big big big big burly big boys like you're the one this is your moment. Okay. So just Ayla? Just Ayla wants to go for it? No Sentry? I might take on the Guardian at some point. Yeah? Well, you have to do it now.

Sentinel Prime. That sounds better. More exciting. Sentinel Prime. You'll be going up against our reigning champion tumble I see tumble and you wild elf girl what's your name ayla alright you're going up against

the destroyer against who is that ayla or ayla the destroyer just ayla jesus christ destroyer that's right there's like flex and thunder come on sure ayla the destroyer not mine but sure all right ayla theer. You'll be going up against Raelynn Red Rivers. She's the other wild elf. Aayla the Impaler! Damn it! No.

He looks like... Taker looks at you, Quill, and is like, but she uses a hammer. She's not going to be doing much impaling. That's exactly how she's going to do it. It's all mind games. It turns into a javelin, though. Stick to bird stuff, man okay okay um so uh basically because tumble's the champion ayla you'll go first and then century will face off against tumble next all right so taker will

actually kind of like he the the young boy who was around earlier, he's like, here you go, kid, and he throws him like a dishcloth, he's like, watch the bar. And then he kind of stomps, and you can see he moves very slowly. He kind of has to waddle because he's so wide, he actually has to like move part of the, like he lifts the bar up and moves it out the way so he can fit through the little gap for it. And then people stand at it. And he shifts them backwards. No, and he lifts the whole bar as he does.

You can see these giant muscles underneath his shell. He's like... Nice. And he slowly plods his way to the stairs. What a flex. I fucking hate stairs.

And he can see he has to hold onto a railing with his giant clawed hand as he takes tiny steps because the stairs are so narrow and his feet are so big. He's like, fuck. It wasn't built around him, this place. No, I'm just saying it wasn't.

Eventually he goes downstairs. He gestures to Quillik, Lucius and Nova like go and join your other friends. Is that some sort of VIP box or something like that? Yeah, he points to it because it's all just identical seating in a ring and he just points to a random bit where the rest of it's... Thank you. Right there.

Perfect. He goes down, he speaks a few words to the referee and then who brings you over ayla and century are both put on different sides um of the of the the fighting arena um two coins sadly has no one to fight so he's out um And you see him kind of stretch up, and then he begins speaking in this kind of booming, kind of guttural, you know, raspy voice. Alright.

Challenge of the elements. And you know what? These two competitors, they want to have it with old Feisty in the pit. Let the shark out! He calls down, and you see this giant kind of like wooden gate at the bottom of the pit is like lifted by these chains, and this

pretty big hunter shark comes swimming in and swims around, and you can see it's all scarred, and it's kind of nasty looking. Ugh, looks like old Feisty is ready for some elf flesh tonight. Alright, you know the rules.

First one in the water loses. The other is the winner. So if you've got any bets, place them now. Never, never, never, never. Hi, me. That's me. We should probably play some bets. Heayla's easily going to win. Oh, okay. What do you want?

Portent isn't just like you magically alter fate. Portent is like you've seen the vision, and you have to physically do something to help them get out of it. But we're like shouting from the crowd, right? I can yell at the duck, right? You could yell duck, sure. I'd allow that. It depends on what you're going to port.

the thin beam of wood, it's stable. It's's very thick it's set into the stone it won't shift it won't break on its own it looks quite weighty but it's narrow as hell um and yeah every sort of like five ten feet there are these thick ropes that are tied around and then they dangle down um and it looks like a sailor's knot so you can undo it quickly but it's quite sturdy so it's not going to just grab on um but it looks like a sailor's knot, so you can undo it quickly, but it's quite sturdy, so it's not going to just grab on. But it looks like it will take some dexterity to try and untie, potentially. You see the other wild elf, she kind of stands in.

She's got a shield and a spear. She kind of looks around, looks at you, and just kind of gives you a kind of like, ah, good, Like another wild elf. What's up? Interesting. What's up? She kind of just like she's like, let's do this, shall we?

Sure. And you see the referee begins, he's like ladies and gentlemen, let us have our next match. Aayla the Destroyer versus Raylan Red Rivers. And the crowd starts cheering. Yeah!

Cheering around. And it's quite packed. The amphitheater is filled out since the first fight. Raylan kind of brings up a shield and brings up a spear into a defensive fighting style. And we're going to roll initiative.

Oh, yeah. So I'm just going to roll a d20 and then add my bonus. Yes, add your modifier. It's not going to... 22. Okay, so Ayla is at 22.

Raylan is second with a 15. You get to go first, Ayla. So there's a couple of things just to note on this, in terms of rules and stuff. So this plank is so narrow, you can move five feet without having to make an acrobatics check to keep your balance.

If you want to move more than five feet, you have to make an acrobatics check to keep your balance, and the further you try and go at once, makes it harder. So if you want to try and move up straight away, it's going to take more of your like it's going to be harder to keep your balance basically how far away is so you can see there it's like 5 10 15 20 25 the whole thing is like very okay yeah

it's 35 feet across the bar basically and so you're still on either end. So there's currently 20 foot of movement. 25 feet. I will move into here. So 10 feet. Okay, so make an acrobatics check for me. Before I do that, before I move, I'm going to rage. Okay. The bonus action to rage.

The storm energy gathers around you this the crowd is like yeah as the lightning begins storming you can see the wild elf kind of like eyes you suspiciously like suspiciously

raised. Okay, remember you have to attack next turn or your rage goes, basically. Yeah. Um, Raylan will just take five, like, take a five foot step and then just keeps her defensive posture, basically. She's going to take the dodge action. Um, your turn.

She's taking the dodge action, I see. Mm-hmm. You have disadvantage on any attacks against her, because she's not opening herself up. She's keeping herself defensive, waiting for you to come to her. Because she can see you're channeling some sort of

energy. I will move forward five feet. No. No. Yes. Come on.

oh nat 20 yeah I mean yeah you just just like rapidly your little feet crossing over

as you keep your balance even though this rage is channeling through you and you've got this giant weapon, you've just managed, like a gazelle, like a goat, a mountain goat, your boots ashore against the board. And I will... So she's got her shield up.

Yep. Yes. Can I recklessly attack her to try and just... Do you want to attack her as in to deal damage or would you like to try and shove her, which is a separate action? I'd like to try and bring the hammer

in around the side to knock her. I don't know if that makes sense. Not to do... I'm trying to put her off balance and put force into it so that she goes sideways right so that is that's less of a damaging attack and it's more of what's called a shove basically so you can so shoving a creature using the attack action you can make a special melee attack to shove a creature either to knock it prone or push it away from you if you're unable If you're able to make multiple

attacks with the attack action, this attack replaces just one of them. So you could do this and then still attack if this fails or you could attack and then try this on your second one. Instead of making an attack roll, you make a strength athletics check contested by the target's strength

athletics or dexterity acrobatics check. You automatically succeed if the target is incapacitated. So, athletics, or dexterity acrobatics check. You automatically succeed if the target is incapacitated. So, well, with advantage, you have advantage on strength, athletics, checks, because you are raging. It says it's rolling, but it's not actually rolling. It came up for us. Oh, did it?

Oh, no, it rolled 2d20, so you'll have to just roll 1, and then... So the first one was... The first one was a 9, the second one was a 13, so you'd be a flat roll, so it yeah so the first one otherwise so the first one was a nine the second one was a 13 so you'd be a flat roll so it'd be the nine because oh actually no this is an athletic check so you don't have you have advantage so 13 plus your athletics uh so that is plus 8. So, 21? Yeah. Yeah, which beats her. I got 19. So, you smash into her.

Now, do you want to try and push her 5 feet to the side, or do you want to try and knock her, Brian? If I knocked her to the side, would that be off the beam? Yeah, because she's coming at me from the arm. Yeah, she'll have a chance to grab the rope. i can i push her um side five feet to the side and so you send a flying so she doesn't expect you come rushing at her you swing with this massive hammer she goes to block it with

her shield thinking you're just trying to attack her but you swing all of your momentum and force into it um sending a flying i do need you to make an acrobatics check as well, because pushing a creature means you've got to swing loads of weight, and it might send you flying off the side. Oh no! So this is what happens. So you both swing into her. The force

sends her flying, but this such a big swing of momentum causes you to slip and use your footing and you both start falling off to the side. If you make a dexterity saving throw, you can grab the rope. There's a rope behind you and a rope in front of you.

I don't believe so. It's not an unseen spell or trap. Ooh. This does not look good. Are you... 18. spell or trap. Ooh. This does not look good. Uh. 18. Yeah. You grab the rope behind you

and you're kind of clinging on as you kind of like, it burns down one side. You've got the hammer in one hand, so you've only got it wielded one-handed at the moment as you grip the rope on the other side. But Raylan begins tumbling down and she gets one more saving throw to grab the bottom grip the rope on the other side. But Raelynn begins tumbling down and she gets one more saving throw to grab the bottom of the rope

because it's about 20 foot rope. And then she's going to... If she fails this, then she's in the water, basically. She fails this. So with one move, Aayla just comes in and swings. Stends her off flying. She spins through the air, desperately trying to grab

the side of it, but just misses it, and you just hear a... Everyone starts cheering and clapping. It's over in a matter of 15 seconds. It's not even a minute long. It's 15 seconds, and she's in the water. You hear a few chomping sounds,

a grunt of pain. You can see her basically swimming over and pulling herself up. She turns around and just punches the shark in the face. And you can see she's like looking up venomously. But yeah, you are basically, the cage opens up, you are brought over to the other side and you are the winner of this round.

Can I, at the end of it, can I go to the wild elf and just put a hand out to her? Yeah, of course. So basically you'll let her off to the side and then you can see that there is another set of stairs that leads further down and she's coming up that way, like being led up from the bottom of the pit.

And yeah, you meet her and she kind of looks at you and there's like a glare and then it breaks into a kind of grin as she's just like fuck me you hit so hard and like she just thrusts her hands out like i was not expecting you to hit me that hard straight off the bat i thought you'd come in for an attack it was a risky strat but it paid off off. But nice punch on the shark at the end there. If you had missed, I was going to absolutely take your legs out. You're lucky you hit me with that thing.

And she kind of looks at the hammer like, she doesn't even know how you can lift something like that. That's insane. That was a good game. And it's nice to meet another wild elf. Haven't seen one in a while. Oh, really? Where are you from? Um, the Eredyth.

I must be a... I'm guessing it's not from El Seraph. Most of us don't use those kind of names up there, but sorry to hear that you haven't seen your people for a while. You should come up to El Seraph sometime. There's a bunch of us up there. There's whole clans. Maybe I will. Yeah. Well, you should.

make some money because you know that's why we're kind of doing this just as a thought not that I don't believe in sentry she's going to kick ass but I wouldn't have even bet on me also she's against a guardian and she's the prime doesn't she kind of have to win

must mean I'm pretty special too, huh? Well, I bet you will be. I'm sure you will do fantastic. I don't doubt it. I'm sure I will too. God, what a power move though. I know, yeah. He kind of like stretches out his hand. I shake his hand.

It's lovely to meet another guardian. His elongated fingers kind of curl around your hand a little bit. So they kind of like double over onto the other side. But he shakes it. Or they shake it he's just like well see you on the board prime yeah see you on the board tumble and he goes around the other side or they go around the other side um cool right the gates are opened uh both of you are led inside the announcer steps up and kind of calls out to the gathered crowd like, Our final match.

We have a new challenger for our champion. I give you Sentinel Prime, the first of our guardians. And they kind of step out. Cheers, general cheers. But then it's like, but you've seen them fight before. The inescapable monkey of the board, Tumble! And everyone's like, woo! And all the regulars are cheering and congratulating.

Oh, no, Sentry pulls off everything. This is not just a regular match. They have chosen the Pit of Fire! And then the whole oil on the bottom is lit up and the whole pit is engulfed in this orange glowing flame. Sentry, would you like to roll initiative?

I would. Let's do it. Oh, it's fast. Oh! That was a nat 1. Nat 1. So was a nat 1. Nat 1. So you are going to go... You are going to be going

Tumble basically moves like a power move. He just moves to the centre of the platform. His toes kind of curl around the board as he walks. He just moves up effortlessly to the very middle of the board and just begins grandstanding, taking deep bows. Yeah, pretty much.
