Pickaxe. We'll see you next time. Sandwiches are just $3 when you buy any size coffee. You heard that right, $3. Your mornings will never be the same.
Plus tax, Canada only, limited time only.
Terms apply, see app for details.
It's time for dance. So, you guys have just finished an hour-long rest
inside the monastery at the top of the hill
that overlooks the vineyards and the winery
for the Ventale Solorense, the Sisteryards and the winery for the ventare solarenze the sister of the
sisterhood of the vine um you spent your head ice but i believe a plan is still not there so
it's right now super rapid we're getting there what's going down we're almost there
yeah okay so sneaky we've got a gnoll in an outhouse.
Who we're going to use as a distraction.
You have a prisoner.
Yep.
Right.
But if we send him in knowing that it's a distraction,
and he's just going to say,
there's four people over there, they're invisible,
and there's another person over there who's for some reason not invisible.
And so what if we just release him,
say, you know what? We're good people. We'll send you back to your thing. And then we just trail him say you know what we're good people we'll send you back to your thing and then we just trail him without him knowing we're there and then he is unknowingly the
distraction for the moment he arrives with the only downside to that plan is i think he's just
gonna run away and not go back to the other knolls he doesn't want to be part of that i'm okay if he
runs away that's. That's one less
thing to think about. Bye.
There are more of them in the caves.
So...
I... I wonder
though. This gnoll we
have looks kind of thin
and hungry, right?
If this baras
is consuming
everything and... Baraz. Then the rest of the gnolls must not be getting as much food.
So maybe once we eat the Baras, the other gnolls will be like, hey, that's cool, we get to eat again.
And just go back to being gnolly.
Order their ore to be consumed by Hadar and will continue their hunger
themselves
who knows
which we'll think
we can speculate
I think we just do a sneaky sneak
leave the gnoll
let him go
uncomplicate things
just do a sneaky sneak
I'll go let him go.
Put it this way, guys. Whenever we plan
anything, it goes to shit.
So,
let's just go in there.
We've got invisibility.
That's a good start.
So, Lucius, you go and let
your gnoll prisoner free.
You uncork
it.
You onboard the outhouse uh i don't know
dude i'm not i'm still in like sleep deprived final fantasy mode right now
undo the boards that you have sealed him up with um and as you open the door, he's kind of looking around.
Is it just you on your own, Lucius?
I don't know.
Okay.
So Aayla's been smelling.
Yeah, you open the doors
and when he sees Aayla with you,
there's a moment where it's just like,
okay, can I attack this guy?
No, no, she's still here.
Okay.
And he kind of just waits. Like you let him out. He's just like okay can i attack this guy no no she's still here okay uh and he kind of just waits like you let him out he's just like yes what do you want from what task
unfortunately your job uh application has not been accepted and you we no longer need your service
so you may go it just stares at you.
You're free.
Free?
You may leave.
Not prisoner?
No.
It runs.
As soon as it realizes what you're doing,
he just sprints past you.
He just starts running.
Which direction does he run?
Does he run towards the winery or does he run towards the hill? That's an interesting question.
That is an interesting question.
This guy would probably...
This guy would run... So he does still head
down the vineyard, like towards the vineyard,
but he's not heading for the winery.
It looks like he's trying to avoid the winery
and he's going to run past it
and out into the hills
of the rest of the island it looks like.
Yeah, this guy
doesn't seem to show any interest
in
the people that nearly got
him killed.
He does not seem to show any loyalty
to them. He's
happy to just be alive and
maybe now he gets to be
a pack lord,
because he'll go and find a bunch of shitty gnolls that he can boss her around.
But yeah, he doesn't make for the winery.
And I'm assuming you do follow him for a little bit and kind of track him.
Yeah, I want to make sure that he doesn't go to the winery.
Yeah, you watch and follow him for a bit.
So if he looks back, he just sees me being like...
Just like the pirate following him.
No, he doesn't really even look back.
He just runs down the hill,
and then as you see him get to the vineyard,
he veers off directly to avoid going towards...
Anyway, he doesn't even want to get near the winery.
He wants to avoid it completely.
Goodbye, Eric.
One less complication.
On with the plan.
The great, succinct
plan.
And so far the plan is
walk up to their place
and go in.
But invisible.
Yes. Perfect.
I say
the stealthiest of us should be invisible
because sight is one thing, sound is another.
So we should factor that in
and see how far we get with the invisible people
and the other people should be lying in wait
for when it inevitably goes wrong.
And we can all rush in.
We need to do four, right?
That leaves just Sentry.
Yeah, technically there's one.
Just Sentry. Sorry, Sent this one. Just Sentry.
Sorry, Sentry, I didn't mean to.
It's all right.
I can go large in charge and get ready to go hard.
You steamroll in.
Yes.
Yeah.
We'll messenger ring you.
We'll ring you when it's like it's go time.
Yep, and I'll just barrage straight in.
Sounds good.
You just knock on the door.
Hi!
Yeah, could Sentry be the distraction?
Like, you know, out the front, banging her shield.
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.
I love that Aroma song.
Yeah.
I don't see why not. She could distract.
But then how many are going to run out after her?
How about we judge that
and then see, no, we need to help Sentry.
No, it's okay. Let's go in.
Yeah.
Do it on the day, so to speak.
Sure.
Alright.
How long does invisibility last?
One of your hours.
Just yours.
My hours is quite quick.
Assuming I'm not distracted.
If I get distracted, then bad news bear.
Right.
Sure.
Bad news owl bear.
Don't go first then.
Okay.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Okay.
So, you guys make your way. Okay. Let's go. Let's go. Okay. So.
You guys make your way.
Sorry.
I've got to make some changes based on... He's adding more people.
More enemies. Yeah.
You guys make your way
down, back down the path that you
just only an hour ago came
back up towards the monastery itself the
monastery sits at the top of a hill that slopes down into a valley effectively um with hills on
either side and the vineyards kind of cover the slope leading down but near the base of the the
hill itself um you can see from the vineyard as you begin making your way down
if you guys got a little further than where you
stopped fighting the gnolls you'd carried
on a dirt road
follows the hills down
and you see at the bottom
a fortified
large-ish
house there is a
stone wall that goes around
it not too high but
thick enough that people can stand upon it like abatements with little kind of gate houses.
No gates, but just walls and then kind of wooden barricades rather than gates themselves kind of placed in.
And then a two-story building sits within the walled enclave or encampment.
Two stories high.
One building appears to be some sort of wagon storage or like a little outhouse or barn.
And then the rest is just a very beautiful, very well-kept stone foundations
and then a wooden second floor building.
and then a wooden second floor uh building um when do you when's the point how close do you get when you are going to start being stealthy and and everything else and then are you going to
leave century is century just going to walk ahead of you what's the plan here what's your approach
um do we want to do some reconnaissance first with arcane eye or with echo oh yeah i can do
or with Echo?
Oh, yeah, I can do.
Yeah, can do.
I'd like to maybe summon Echo or Elko just to add as an extra
distraction.
Echo or Elko?
Yeah, which one?
Well, technically you can create both, but they would be
separate entities.
So wait, so if I'm just saying
Elko or Elko,
Elko or Elko?
Elko won't distract.
So find Steed. is it a giant elk I think? Or is it just an elk?
Giant elk, yeah. Or maybe just be an elk.
If you just D&D beyond the stats for that Rhiannon, and then you should be able to,
if you can't see that let me know. Let me know if you can't see it. I think you can
because I think it's in the basic rules.
Okay, so I can arcane eye about it. It's a level 4 spell.
God damn.
I see.
Yeah, I got it.
You got it?
You don't have to if Rhiannon's sending.
Are you
Elko-ing or are you Echo-ing?
Elko is a giant
like huge
glowing metal
elk
They will spot that
I just mean if you're a scanner of Echo
that's also visible as well, right?
Yeah
I was thinking when we do the distraction thing
Okay, that's cool
In that case
I can send Elko out with me.
Yeah, but in terms of reconnaissance,
I'll do an arcane eye
and then fly around with my invisible eye.
Okay.
So, in that case,
I will show you what you can see.
I just put everything.
I see everything.
You don't see everything you just tell me everything i'm not doing the dynamic lighting on this so okay you can just see certain things i'm just gonna move
so what you see is like i said this before there's a large stone wall that encapsulates the winery itself.
Very pretty grounds on the inside.
Trees, little fountains, bushes, that sort of thing.
Why can you not see anything?
Oh, I cast Arcane Eye wrong.
I cast Arcane Nose!
No!
You got your thumb on it.
I can smell everything!
It's so bad.
There we go, there we go.
There we go.
So, you can see that amongst the barricades,
there are, there's about five
gnolls, all looking in the direction
of which you would have to approach from.
All kind of
wielding short bows,
weapons at the ready, looking
you know
anticipating what's going to happen
let's throw on your
little eye
and I'll let you
move that around a little bit
yeah I guess
there's like windows and stuff
I can fly through right
there you go you can have a flame skull oh yeah my arcane eye Yeah, I guess it's like windows and stuff like that. Oh, yeah
Just remind me Tom the arcane eye is invisible
Yes
Okay, I can move it freely. Does it have to stay within a certain range of you? Yeah, I can move it anywhere.
I can spawn it 30 feet.
But there's no range on like...
You can just move it and you just see what it sees.
Yep.
30 feet of vision from it.
Okay, so you only see 30 feet.
But also, it lasts an hour. Okay, so within an hour, yeah. Also, it lasts an hour.
Okay, so within an hour, yeah, you send it down the path.
I'm assuming you guys kind of hide in the vineyards for a while.
Quill summons the arcane eye, this small glowing sphere,
kind of semi-glassy when he first summons it,
and then it vanishes from sight for everyone but him.
And then you send it down.
You see the barricade, you see gnoll guards all waiting
with bows. One of them appears
to be a
more rugged, wearing a chain,
like, rusted chain shirt with a
glaive in its hand, similar to the one that
you kind of semi-fought before.
And then you see the back of this building, this two-story
building. Where do you want to send the eye?
Okay, so
I'll go past those five guards
and I can
go in anything of a
one inch diameter
space, right? So can I just fly through
the window?
There's not a window on this side. There don't appear to be any windows
on the side that you are currently facing.
It is just... I'm going round.
Yeah, if I make it go round, you find that there is like an out front stable I'm going round! clean. Almost no flesh. Most of any of the larger
bones that would have had marrow and things
like that have been taken
or broken open and then their remnants
have been left behind.
Everything sucked clean.
Oh my god. Okay.
There is a pair of
closed doors.
There wouldn't be any windows
here. There's a pair of closed doors. But wouldn't be any windows here.
There's a pair of closed doors.
But you can continue looking around the front.
I didn't actually put windows on because I completely
forgot that this could be a thing.
There wouldn't be windows on this side.
So yeah, I can go into anything one inch.
Is there a space in the door?
One inch.
Is that like that?
Probably not. No. No. door uh one inch is that like that yeah probably not no no the windows the doors would be more sealed nope there's no gutters okay in that case i'm going to keep going around past the dead
horses and now around the back of the building well this is the front you realize this is the
front of the building and that the way that you approached it before appears to be the best. Oh. I mean,
I said that right at the start.
Nah, I wasn't listening.
There are front windows,
very beautiful glass windows
around the front.
I haven't actually put them on the map, but they are
basically here and here.
Okay.
And look out onto, yeah, what would be
again, sort of like beautiful little flower beds and things like that.
Can you go inside?
Can you not go inside?
Can I?
Oh no, I was
animating it as if I was slamming the eye into the
window, hoping to get in.
Right, cool.
What's in this room through this window?
Actually, no, that's a point. The window's a glass. Yeah yeah you wouldn't be able to get inside so okay i'll just i'll just slam it into the window a couple times nope not working
all right keep going sealed shut it's a very well-made building that's the thing is that
you notice is that the you know the windows have glass and lead panes in them the doors
are well furnished there's no real gaps to
go under. This is a very well kept
very royal
looking building. Not royal, but very rich
looking building.
There's no holes anywhere!
If you have a hole, you're
going to get drafts and vermin come in,
Tom.
Do you not need to drain? like clean the tanks and stuff like
that from the maybe it's all underground maybe on the roof yeah like underground there would be yes
potentially all the way around the opposite side of the building to where i am now there's like a well on the map. There is a fountain.
A fountain?
Which means there's pipes.
Which means I can get to the sewers. Not necessarily,
no, but yes, you can go and check it if you want.
That's plan B,
okay?
I'll keep going round.
I don't know if they would have any
open holes in this building, because
yeah, there'd be drains drains but I think they'd be
underground. Like they'd have
plumbing or like rudimentary plumbing.
No, because again, you'd get a draft
through an inch gap. Like that would
create a huge draft in bad weather.
What a fucking efficient building this is.
This is
most buildings would be like this. What do you
want? I know, I just wish
they had some.
Why didn't they get some cowboy builders to build this thing?
And then it would have been so easy to get into.
Just a loose stone.
Not my son.
No.
That was a drafty boy.
All right.
Now that I'm back round to the top.
Even then you probably didn't have an inch gap, did you, Kim?
An inch gap is quite large.
Can I go up to the roof? Is there anything there?
You go up to the roof.
They wouldn't leave any windows open.
I imagine the only place that you might be able
to find a big enough gap is
if you go up to the very roof.
You might be able to wedge in...
Even then, the slates, the tile roofs would be designed not to have gaps in underneath and stuff like that.
No, I don't know if there would be an inch-big gap in this building that's easily visible from the outside of the building itself.
There's windows, but they have glass.
The drains, yeah.
I don't think that there is, sadly. I think that you scale the building... Is's windows but they have glass the drains yeah like yeah i don't
think that there is sadly i think that you scale the building fortress yeah it's not impenetrable
fortress it just doesn't have an inch gap jesus do i have do i have any info of just looking
through the windows yeah absolutely yeah looking through the windows you can see i'm gonna that's why i've not hidden the map like you can see everything in by looking through the windows yeah absolutely yeah looking through the windows you can see i'm gonna that's
why i've not hidden the map like you can see everything in by looking through the windows
the only thing which i will reveal is there is a second floor um which i just need to disable like
the fancy lighting stuff on before i move there an aircon unit there is no aircon unit no all right
so the second floor um looks a little bit like this um it appears to
be mainly a working space um i'm just gonna move these hide these guys um it mainly appears to be
like a working space with like desks and records and then there are walkways over the larger barrels
down in the main winery and then there's a large
storage space where it looks like they help load
the wagons that are beneath
in the barn
is there a particularly large boy
you don't see
through the windows
I guess
the windows be on this main
room
you can see by the way I guess... Hmm. How would the windows be on this main room?
You can see, by the way, that there are three stone pillars that hold up the second floor in the main room itself.
I would say...
Yeah, I guess, like, if there are enough windows that you can see inside,
I will reveal creatures for you.
Oh, God, how many are in there?
One.
Two. Three. Oh, my God. you oh god how many are in there one two three oh my god many this one four and then yeah there was the two that you saw upstairs as well which i can do you want to see them okay so there's
six in there you can see their name i don't care if you see their name plates because it doesn't really it's 11 in total yeah and you can see that one of them one of them is sat at a table this is why i don't
really mind you seeing names because you'd be able to identify a little bit there's one sat
at a small table that is piled piled with grapes with sl animals, with food stores that they seemingly have found within the winery itself.
Most of it is just a disgusting mess of half-eaten food.
And there is a quite large, but not overweight, like a muscular-looking gnoll that is just eating and eating and eating.
This huge mound of gathered substance.
It has a bucket that seems to be full of wine next to it,
and it just downs the whole thing.
It passes it to a gnoll who is wearing not quite robes,
but you can see that they've stained a white habit from one of the nuns.
They've torn it into shreds,
and then they've
painted that same red circle on its chest um it gets the barrel the bucket takes it over to one
of the larger wine barrels fills it up brings it back baraz snatches it and drinks more there are
also two quite muscular looking gnolls with large pole arms, I think. Oh, no, greatswords. Like, rusted greatswords
that are kind of flanking
some of the doorways into the building.
Okay.
Can I just leave the arcane eye
at the best window to get a sight
of those, then?
Yeah, sure.
One of the windows.
Just so I know when they start moving, if they start moving.
Yeah, it'll probably be...
over here.
There's like little
diagonal windows on this curved
staircase that you can see through.
Okay.
Okay, and I'll communicate
how many there are, that he's in there,
blah blah blah, to everyone.
And that I also
cannot get into this house.
Uh, no,
I don't believe so. I'm sure it's just a visual thing.
I think it's just a visual.
Yeah, just visual information.
And I'm sure there are a lot of people out there
saying, like, actually, Mark, there would be holes
because they'd need them for this and things like that,
but I can't reasonably think of what there
would be, so there aren't any.
I can see it anyway, doesn't it?
Speed holes.
The house needs to go far.
What is a speed hole?
So the building can go faster.
Air holes.
That's the next thing I like.
There's air holes.
Oh, you have speed holes.
I'm sorry. place is a vacuum inside
Is your house a vacuum?
No, then it's fine
It's got inch holes everywhere
I mean, yeah, I've got my inch-wide air holes
All around my house
There's nobody hot in there
So they've opened a window.
The gnolls, yeah, well, the gnolls don't seem particularly bothered.
No.
The gnolls have gone into the house.
If we just wait, like, ten minutes, they'll suffocate.
It's fine.
Yes, they will absolutely suffocate.
They definitely will.
How are we going to...
Who should we focus on?
Obviously, the only entrance is through this wall opening at the rear.
And I assume the front, did the front have the same amount of guards?
The front didn't seem to have any guards.
Oh, hello.
So there's a chance we can even just go around the front and not have a sentry distraction.
Although. we could
still go in invisibly. I still think that's important.
Yes. Yeah.
So, should we go around the front and skirt around?
As a point, if you
the gate, the
rear gate that the gnolls are currently
at, has a very clear view
of anybody who tried to, like, go around
the sides of the walls itself. Like, they can clear, like, who tried to like go around the sides of the
walls itself like they can clear
like there's like open space
it's not like the vineyards go right up to the walls
you will have to emerge
and then walk around yeah
but if you're invisible
yes and I don't imagine these
gnolls would have taken into the fact that
people could make themselves vanish
from sight so they've not prepared for that.
I'm also just worried about
Century against five
armed gnolls.
How about...
Well, I've got Elko. Yes, Elko.
So what we'll do is send
the invisible people around the front.
As soon as the guards
have caught wind that something bad is happening,
obviously you'll Elko in,
and maybe the guards will be distracted enough by Elko
so that you can come in as well.
Yeah.
Oh, that's cute.
If you struggle, you messenger ring us,
and we will come and help.
Same to you.
This way we're making every single person aware
that we're there at the same time.
But I can see when they move the eye, at least.
Right.
I feel like we might be overwhelmed, though,
with all the guards in the front and the ones you told us are inside.
I'm worried.
We barely hold out against a similar number just now in the
vineyards.
That was without the big
guy in there.
I mean, we've all got a lot of
big, wide
spells, right? Why don't we
go in invisible, just look
through a window, and all of us at the same time
just blast the room
with a load of
acid things like Lucius can do
I think yes once we're
inside we can bottleneck
there's only one entrance
well there's a couple of entrances right
we could hold up in one of the rooms
and have them come to us
and they
won't all be able to get to us all at once
there's a chance we don't even need to
if all of us just surprise attack
all attack at the same time
just big spells, get everything on the inside
just wipe them out in one
right
should we focus on
Baz, Braz, Baz
the hunger boy
he could be the source of it all yes
why not let's give it a go okay then hunger boy. He could be the source of it all, yes.
Why not?
Let's give it a go.
Okay then. And then we'll messenger ring you,
Sentry, when Elko
should storm
so that you can come through.
How are you going to tackle Elko?
Are you going to try and bring him
definitely into their visual range and then
have him run off again so the guards chase him?
Exactly, yeah.
I'll try and get the guards to give chase to him,
and then I'll come in.
Right.
Any problems?
I'll do a Shield of Faith on Sentry.
How long's that last?
Thank you.
Ten minutes.
I mean, I'll do it before we, you know, go.
Okay.
But that's plus two AC for 10 minutes.
So is the plan that you guys are going to get as close as you can
and then basically cast invisibility and then try and make it worse?
I mean, we may as well just cast invisibility now, right?
Yeah.
Rather than getting close.
We've got an hour of invisibility.
Okay.
All right.
So you cast invisibility now.
And then, but what about
Sentry? Is Sentry getting as close
as she can, and then you guys are going to go
in, or are you going to leave Sentry further back?
Because obviously I don't have a map that extends
far away, but imagine that you've got
a good 80 to 100
feet around this wall
that's clear of any sort of cover and foliage.
Yeah, I think it's that
we're going to try and get through
assuming they chase after Sentry.
Or chase after Elko.
Just bear in mind,
it's going to take Sentry a long time to get through.
Oh, she's got Elko.
And then they're also chasing elko not sentry
okay so break it down for me what exactly are you doing take it step by step who's where
when do you go when do you go who initiates that sort of stuff elko runs forward
the guards spot elko they chase elko elko runs back we then guards spot Elko. They chase Elko. Elko runs back.
We then use that gap in the
defense to get in while we're invisible.
Don't tell me the plan of an assumption of what you think's going to happen.
So the plan is that you send Elko forward
and if the guards chase after it,
the invisible people try and sneak
in behind the walls.
Yes.
That's the plan.
Yeah.
Okay, let's make some rolls then.
So you get as close as you can.
Century summons Elko, or summons Elko before,
and then you make your way through the vineyards
until you are still hidden,
but within a reasonable distance to get to the walls, basically.
You can see that, as I mentioned,
these walls have about 100, 110 clear feet of space around them,
and they can see the dirt road
that goes around the walls itself.
So there's about 110 foot of open space
between any sort of cover where Sentry can reasonably hide,
and then the guards and the space in the wall is.
I guess, yeah,
you send Elko forwards.
How close does Elko
get and what does Elko do?
Rhiannon.
So what I'll do is I'll
send Elko forth and I'll get Elko
to run at
kind of a reasonable fast speed
but enough for the
gnolls
to be able to give chase
to it and then I'll send
Elko around the back of the building
to see what happens, see what they do.
So like what kind of distance? How close
do you want Elko to get?
Give me a specific. So I want Elko
to be... should I move him should i put him
no because i don't have enough space to represent well no i don't have enough because out the moment
elko's not through here yet elko's kind of imagine if you imagine that you've got the walls but
there's a hundred foot of space from where you are to the walls yeah so there's a hundred foot
of distance between you and the walls the knolls are all in the wall on the walls. So there's a hundred foot of distance between you and the walls. The gnolls are all
on the walls, like on the gate.
Yeah.
How close does Elko get to the gnolls
and the wall? And then are you sending...
Are you going to try and send Elko to run
through the gate and, like, behind the
building? Or do you want Elko to run off
around one of the walls?
Um...
Ooh. That's a good point. Um... i think i'll send him off so he'll
be a good maybe like 80 feet ahead of us and then i'll get him to run about 20 feet away
yeah about 20 feet away through through the the gate around the building. Yeah. Okay.
So you do that, you send Elko galloping
and I'm guessing Elko will just dash, it will use
its action to just run forwards, basically,
to cover the distance.
Yeah, fantastic. Okay.
Well, I think this is the point where
we're going to need to roll some initiatives for everybody.
Just so we can track
what's going on.
So I will auto auto roll for everyone else
how do you do initiative with beyond 20 thing um if you click on the actual initiative um
box on uh beyond d uh dnd beyond even and then there's like a Beyond 20 window up in that.
I've got a piece of feedback for D&D Beyond for the encounter.
The thing that runs the encounters.
If a character is deactivated in the campaign
it shouldn't show up in the combat tracker.
Piece of feedback.
Flip it. Send it.
Oh my god. Starbane is in this combat.
Lucius.
What?
Lucius. What? 15. Lucius. No, Hadaris.
18. 15.
12. 15.
12. 13.
13. Aayla.
24. 24.
Oh, nice. Sentry.
8.
8. Like with
very similar to Morn
I'm just going to have Elko go
after your turn Sentry
just because otherwise I've got to add a whole other monster
in and it's going to mess with the
combat XP and stuff like that
so we'll just do that, Nova
5
5
so I'm assuming
well no I'm assuming
that Ayla and every other character
who isn't Sentry, you're
basically not, you're delaying
your turn until Elko does stuff.
So Elko,
Sentry's go is to command Elko to
run forward.
Which it does. Elko runs
forward. What's Elko's speed,
Rhiannon?
On that stat block.
60 feet.
So with a dash action, they can go 120 feet,
so they can basically get about 10 feet inside the gates.
They come barreling through.
All the gnolls are kind of like, what?
They kind of start turning and looking at this thing
that's just run past them, this great beast.
Nova, do you do anything? It's just, past them, this great beast. Nova, do you
do anything? It's just, you know,
if you don't want to do anything, if you're waiting, just say you wait.
I
get, well, I need
to make everyone invisible, right?
You said that you'd already cast that.
So mark that off.
Yeah, I've marked it off already.
So I'm just going to wait and see what the gnolls do,
what the gnoll guards do. So you're just waiting ayla same thing i'm guessing yep all
right okay so one two three four so five of these things yeah like turn on elko and they're just
like what the hell and they begin firing bows generally trying to attack elko as best they can like trying to just take it down
as quickly as possible um so they will be making a bunch of attacks uh this is why i wanted to get
the order of things down because obviously if they decimate elko in a couple of turns then they don't
run chasing after it um yeah so elko two shortbow attacks from four gnolls,
and then the pack leader will go a bit later.
So, first one is a 16 to hit.
That's a hit.
Right, so just make a note, six damage to Elko.
Cool.
The next one is only an 11 to hit.
That's a miss.
Okay, next one, this is the next gnoll, 17 to hit. That's a miss. Okay, next one. This is the next gnoll.
17 to hit.
That's a hit.
That's another 6 damage.
The next one is a 24, so that's another 6 damage.
Two gnolls have gone.
So I'll just mark this.
The next one is a 17 to hit.
That's a hit. That's a hit.
That's another six points of damage.
And the next round is...
That's also going to be a hit.
That's another six points of damage.
Yep.
Next one's a miss.
And then the last one is a hit for another six points of damage.
Cool beans.
Oh, dear.
You hear them begin to cry out.
You hear them crying out like,
Beast! Beast!
And actually, they'd be speaking in their own language,
so they're kind of barking each other in these high-pitched yips and barks and snarls.
And they're kind of...
And they all turn on it.
And one of the larger... I wouldn't say more impressive
but one of the
more imposing looking
gnolls begins to bark
orders at them. Lucius and Quill, do you guys do anything?
Or are you still just waiting for them
to potentially chase after?
I'm looking for guidance.
Is Alco still up?
Yeah.
Just about. Just about. Is Elko still up? Yeah, just about
Yeah, wait until
the plan starts coming to fruition
I'll cast Guide Tornado
Is that what you do?
Okay
The two gnolls that were on the ground level
basically begin
well, not kind of chasing
but they are making their move as into
they start getting themselves ready to kind of
semi-chase after it but they still have their bows drawn
two of the gnolls are actually up on the wall
so won't be chasing after anything
they're just aiming down with these short bows basically
the pack leader will turn
around and draw his own longbow and he'll take
two shots at Elko as well
for a
15 to hit
that's a hit and then I'll just roll the next attack, 11 so the first one hits two shots at Elko as well. For a 15 to hit.
That's a hit.
And then I'll just roll the next attack. 11. So the first one hits, so that's another six points of piercing damage from
the pack leader. Elko's gone.
He will also.
So Elko
comes barreling through them, and you just
see these gnolls in a panic,
because they see this thing running towards them.
It doesn't attack them, and they just, in an instant, they're just like
ah! With arrows.
Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump. Until
Elko just kind of explodes in this
burst of golden light
and energy just kind of
as it vanishes
from sight. And the gnolls look extremely
confused.
Century,
would you like to do anything? oh the guys haven't gone yet
have they so i'm gonna have to hold back until they're gone okay um yes i'll wait yeah i guess
i'm gonna start moving um okay five ten well no you are not at the point you are at you just
let's be clear you're not at the point on the map that you're currently at.
You are 100 feet away from the walls, like I said.
You are with Sentry in the last bit of hidden foliage.
And there's a 100-foot gap between the walls and you guys.
So you can start moving across it.
But if you dash, you'll get 60 feet.
You'll get over halfway across it.
Can I hold action? By the the way, I'm like...
My initiative is five.
Why am I...
Am I...
Yeah, that's the end of the round.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I'm going to hold my action
and I'm going to messenger ring everyone
and say, are we going?
Are we changing plan?
What are we doing?
And then if someone says, let's go,
or something similar um i
will dash 60 feet okay perfect that sounds great that's a great uh held action ayla
fuck it we're going everybody waits for somebody
so you want to go around the walls... Oh, to the front of the...
So you want to go around the walls, around the right-hand side of the walls.
Okay.
Just make a stealth check for me.
Just roll a stealth check with advantage, because you are invisible.
So I hear Ayla say, fuck it, let's go.
Yeah.
So yeah, your action would start, would
tuck off as well. Keep in mind, you guys can't see
each other when you're invisible. Yeah, I was gonna
say, like, did we decide
which direction to go in, like, to
start with? Did we decide we're gonna go straight
through the holes? You said you would dash across 60 foot
towards the gate, right?
We said we were gonna go around the front, didn't we?
Well, look. Yeah, we did.
I'm going around the front. We're gonna go around the front. Okay, we'll go around the front, didn't we? Well, look. I'm going around the front.
We're going to go around the front.
Okay, we'll go around the front then.
Sure.
Okay.
All right.
I was going to be mean and be like,
him is going in through past the gnolls and Ayla's going to go around the front.
What's the rest of you guys doing?
You don't know where the others are.
I was going to be mean, but I'm not going to be.
So what was the total on that 16, Katie?
That stealth?
20. 20.
20. Okay, cool.
I'll make a stealth as well.
Yes, make a stealth for me.
The gnolls are just looking at the space where Elko was.
And then they just sort of look around.
They're on alert, but they don't know what's going on. They're just sort of look around. They're on alert, but they don't know what's going on.
They're just sort of looking around.
I'm going to make one perception check for the whole group, basically,
but I'll do it with the lowest perception.
Fucking hell.
Natural 20, okay.
Natural 20, then.
Jesus.
You see their little ears kind of picking up,
and as Nova... What was Nova's total?
You got 21. 18.
That was your total
was 18.
As Nova's
or you already had the plus 3 in there. As Nova's
feet are kind of scuffing the dirt
you see them kind of looking around like
and they're talking to each other
in their language and they definitely seem to think
that something's here but they're like I can other in their language. And they definitely seem to think that something's here,
but they're like, I can't see anything.
What's going on? They're confused. They don't know exactly
where you are, but they know that something is here.
Technically, Kim would have advantage,
so she might get an actual point on stealth.
No, no, no. Yeah, that's true. I did say roll
with advantage for Ayla, so you have advantage.
Ten. No.
Sadly not. No.
That's pretty much all of the gnolls go they basically just spend the turn like like sniffing and trying to listen and like looking around you can see their little hyena eyes
squinting lucius what'd you do i'm going to enact the plan and messengering i don't know where
anybody is but i'm going around the right-hand side.
Okay.
Dash.
It's almost like having a telepathy is somewhat useful because you can just talk without making noise.
Yeah.
We are so fucked.
So you guys start dashing your way around the side.
We said before we went that we were going around.
It's funny.
Yeah, but which way?
Left, right?
I've just stated in Messenger Ring I'm going around the right.
Quill, what do you do?
I'll say in Messenger Ring,
I'm also going around the right. I don't know why I need to
clarify this. We talked about it.
And now I'm going to run around.
Bonus action dash.
Do we need to stealth?
Yes, both of you will need to make stealth
checks with advantage, please.
Which way is right?
Now you're right. Stay right.
We're going Siaska's right!
Oh, trotty mess.
As you guys invisibly start making your way around,
Lucius, the ground here is pretty uneven, and your foot kind of...
You take, like, a bad trip.
Like, you don't fall completely over,
but it's enough that you kick
like a rock, and the gnolls
all are just like, ah, ah, and they start pointing
in your vague direction, basically.
Okay.
Sentry, what
do you do? In fact, actually, no, after Lucius,
the pack lord
will sense that
something is there. He draws
his bow and is, like, looking around
trying to squint his eyes.
Um, and
yeah, I think that
he doesn't really know where you are.
I never know how to judge invisibility like
this, like...
Technically, it's like, creatures can still detect you. Yeah this like technically it's i guess it's more noise
still detect you yeah well it's also a creature can still detect you an invisible creature is
impossible to see without the aid of magic or a special sense the purposes of hiding the creature
is heavily obscured the creature's location can be detected by any noise it makes or any tracks
it leaves so maybe that's it it's actually actually like they can see footprints in the mud.
And yeah, he's going to attack you, but he'll have disadvantage
because he can't see you.
So he's going to try and shoot at Lucius.
So with disadvantage, that's a
miss. And then his second attack
is the highest on there is a
16.
So six points of damage to Lucius. is the highest on there is a 16. Yeah. That's going to hit. That will hit.
So six points of damage to Lucius.
Those were with disadvantage, Tom.
Was that my barrier ring?
I'm a class 12, just so you know.
They, ooh, the seven would have hit you then.
Oh, no, because it would have been the five.
Yeah, so it would have been the five.
Oh, that's right, Tom.
I'm thinking of like it is with disadvantage.
So the highest there would have been 11
Okay, then so both miss so like these arrows strike the ground near your feet
But the rest of the knolls are now sort of like looking around trying to see what tracks and stuff that they can detect century
Okay, so I'll messenger ring I'll say are you guys through do you need me to come out
shall i come out honestly i'm thinking that we should maybe abandon all hope because this has
gone terribly wrong already i'm gonna you know what you know what you know what? You know what? You know what? I'm going to... Here we go.
Here we go.
Here we go. Here we go.
The noise makes me very excited.
No, save the day, Rhiannon, please.
Do I just cast enlarge and just barrel through?
And just barrel all these guys?
Yes.
Just come storming through.
I mean, it will take you more than one round.
You'll have one round where you'll be out in the open.
Because you can only move 60 feet the whole turn.
You have got a plus 2 AC from shield of faith too.
Plus 2 AC, 22 AC. Yeah, sure.
Okay, so do we see from behind the tree line or behind these like vineyards and bushes you've got the touch begins to play as the
prime matrix glows and we see rising above the vines a giant century um
a full-time being.
And you charge across
60 foot of open
terrain.
Your heavy footsteps
slamming into the ground as you
barrel your way towards the
five gnolls on the gate
itself. That's your
whole turn. If you move and dash, that's your whole turn.
All the
gnolls, including the one shooting at me.
Now, look at Century.
They're like, holy shit,
a giant metal woman
is coming. Kill it.
You don't need to
speak their language to know that that's what they're doing.
I'm just going to move you guys.
Century does arrive in her position.
I'm going going to move you guys when Sentry does arrive. I'm going to messenger ring
everyone and say,
do we keep going? Because if I attack,
I'm dropping the invisibility spell.
Look,
Tom, this is perfectly
what Nova would do. She would be unsure
because she's controlling the invisibility
spell right now. She doesn't know whether or not to go to
Sentry's aid or what.
She's panicking. She's confused.
So I'm going to hold action.
Okay, so you don't move?
Or do you want to keep moving?
I'm going to hold action,
and I'm going to messenger ring that to everybody.
What do we do?
Because if I attack, I'm dropping the spell,
and then I will do what someone tells me to do,
whether it's move or attack.
Okay, so your held action is,
I hold my action until somebody tells me what to do.
You do technically have to say what the action's going to be.
Okay, yeah.
I guess I'll move towards...
So you could say, like, if somebody tells me to attack...
Okay.
Yeah.
So you're waiting...
If someone tells me to attack, I so you're waiting if somebody says towards them
if they tell me to move like keep moving for the gate or whatever then i'll keep going there sure
that that's fine that works all right ayla it'll be a movement action so you guys would have dashed
so you're about 60 foot no she's got like another 40 feet to get to where she currently is um you
guys are about 60 feet so you would have gone find them 15 20 25 30
35 40 45 50 5 60 you're all kind of on the outside of the wall over here so you hear sentry um the
null pack guy is probably like actually about five feet up um because he's he was shooting at lucius
um before you rounded the corner.
Just so everyone who's invisible knows,
the spell ends for a target that attacks or casts a spell.
Yes.
Just so you know.
So you've just got round the corner of the wall.
But you can hear... You goo goo you got the touch!
Sentry's just like
comes in like Optimus fucking Prime
just like, not today
Nolatron!
I want Sentry to
fight all of these Nulls by herself.
I want that to be the thing that happens.
Stamp on them.
So I'm going to, the thing that happens. Stamp on them. So I'm
going to, seeing that
Sentry is
about to take the brunt of
several gnolls,
I'm going to stop
running in the direction that
I'm running.
And I would like to
hold off. So I'm trying to hold off.
So, I'm trying to get my map
moving.
Okay. Just imagine you're about 60 feet.
In fact, you would be further, but I'll
keep you as a group, because I don't think you would move
too far off on your own. You're about 60
feet on the outside of the wall around
the corner, effectively.
From the gate itself.
You can move
back towards century.
She's moving back
about 30 feet-ish.
So you're moving back towards century.
Up towards
but still around the side
of the wall.
Basically, wait, when was
it? So 5 and 15,
20, 25, 30. So I'm going to move 40 back. basically wait when was this so 5 and 15 20 25 30
so I'm going to move
40 back
and I'm going to
hold my action
until sentry
gets within
fighting distance
and then when she lands on them,
I'm going to surprise one of them and smack her.
Just remember that you're not in range to attack any of them currently.
That's true.
I could with my bow.
Yeah, I'd say you could draw your bow and take some shots. Yep.
Actually, no. I'm not gonna do it.
I'm just gonna wait it out
here and
be in position and I'll just tell
the guys on Messenger Ring
I'm gonna be here to help Sentry because I don't
think that leaving her on her own with these guys
is a good idea.
Okay, cool.
After Aayla's go, the gnolls begin to shoot at Sentry.
This is a target they can
see.
There's four of them with two shots.
Four of them with two shots
each. Your AC's 22, right,
Rhiannon?
Alright, so if they've got plus five to hit,
I need to roll a 17 or higher to hit you.
So we'll see how many hit.
Nope.
So that's a four.
The next one's a miss.
The next one's a miss.
The next one's a miss.
Wow.
The next one's a miss.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Wow, wow, wow.
Two attacks each.
So that's one gnoll, two gnoll, three gnolls.
The last one, so four arrows,
like these just hella arrows, comes flying towards Sentry,
and kind of half protected by this mystical barrier,
half protected by just thick plate mail armor,
the kind of place plate that's shut over your mouth.
The last arrow
just manages to catch into a joint
between your plates, and you take
six points of damage.
Oh, I love this.
The gnolls also
just start yelling,
like screaming at the top of their
lungs in their language.
Like just
yelling as loud as they can.
Perfect.
One, two, three, four.
Them.
These guys inside
hearing that will begin
making their way out.
We're fucked, guys!
With Aayla's, like what she said, would that count
as like a movement?
Or like, I'm going to go and help Century? She didn't end up taking a...
She didn't end up, because she couldn't, she can't move and attack.
No, no, no, no, no. For Nova, not for Ayla.
I didn't tell you to do anything.
I didn't tell you to do anything. She didn't tell you.
Ayla said she's going to go. I said what I was doing.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Lucius! In fact, these guys are going to dash.
I'm going gonna continue my
Dash you're gonna keep going round
So you just keep dashing around the front
Yeah, do you do what you do I
Don't think you've asked people to tell you what to do.
Did you?
I did.
I said, our messenger rang, and I said,
tell me what to do because the spell's going to drop, basically.
Our messenger ringing, saying,
I'm continuing to skirt around the left-hand side,
going through the back gate.
I assume you follow as per the plan.
Okay.
So Nova would then continue.
No.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Quill.
The plan hasn't exactly gone to plan.
I'm adapting to what's happening.
I don't want Sentry to get killed.
Sentry distracting was the plan.
I'm following Lucius.
We are going to catch Faras in one big surprise attack.
And take him out in one.
So I'm going to follow Lucius down.
I don't actually have control of Quill
on roll 20, but yeah, just move him down.
Next to Lucius.
My god, you're right.
This is not going to go well.
Now you do.
You three are basically all
you're all down there. You're all together.
The three of you, the three squishy casters, can all be a group.
Quill, the arcane eye,
looking inside.
Baraz kind of looks up
at the screaming, and then just kind of grunts
and just goes back to eating.
And the mage next to him just is like...
nods its head.
Outside, the pack lord will finally turn to engage Sentry a little bit.
He will draw his bow and take two shots at Sentry.
That's only a 20 to hit, and that's an 18 to hit.
P-ting, p-ting!
These arrows just bouncing off you,
unable to pierce through your thick guardian armor.
Amazing. Sentry!
How long does enlargement last?
It's a minute. Forever.
Ten turns
of this. It lasts ten turns,
yeah.
Yep, there you go.
You've got thirty feet to the
front, to the barricade, the wooden
barricade. The pack lord is slightly to the front, to the barricade, the wooden barricade.
The pack lord is slightly ahead of them,
but the rest of the archers are all behind the barricade or on the walls.
Cool.
Can I get, so can I go slightly in front of the barricade,
but then bonus action, misty step up onto the wall behind one of the archers? Yeah, you can.
So you get to where you are currently on the Roll20 map,
which is right in the middle of the barricades,
like right by the wall.
And then which one do you want to go for,
the left or the right?
My left.
So that went perfect.
Yeah, you appear in this swirl of green and purple energy.
You vanish from the sight.
The gnolls look very confused
and you basically appear
crouched over another one of these
creatures that doesn't quite realize you're
there yet.
You've still got your action.
I'm gonna 1-2 smackaroo, divine smite.
Good old 1-2.
Sure. Absolutely.
This one's sick.
So, first one.
Just leave. Realize she's good enough on her own. Sure. Absolutely. This one's sick. So first one. At what point
does Sentry just
leave, realize she's
good enough on her
own?
Yeah.
That's the wrong
thing.
I don't know why
I did that.
That's the wrong
thing.
Ignore me.
So there's one.
Where's 2d20?
Hang on a second.
Have you got it
accidentally set?
I've got a little
cheat.
Yeah, just take the
17. Just take the 17. That was got a little cheat. Yeah, just take the 17.
Just take the 17.
No. The first one
definitely hits, so this attack definitely hits.
Nice. So then we'll
start off with the standard
attack damage, which is
d8 plus 5 plus
d4. Plus another
d4. Enlarged.
You had a d4 for weird.
Plus one D4.
See if that works. That doesn't work.
Rhiannon, what are you doing? No, you just roll it separately.
17 points.
And then Divine Smite.
Divine Smite at level 1.
See if you play.
2d8.
2d8 2d8 Here he is, there's the cheat sheet
Bam bam
That's 6
So you appear on top of him and then just
Stab down with this enlarged version
Of Her Majesty's Rose
It nearly skewers the gnoll in half
But he manages to get to the side and it just rips
open his side. He's still alive, but
turns, drops his bow, and is
fumbling for his axe.
I'm going to do it
again, Mark.
I know, I'm waiting.
I look forward to it.
I'm going to do it again.
What's the total, though?
Eleven. What's that? Eleven.
Eleven total.
Eleven, not enough.
No, sadly not.
Even these guys,
they kind of roll to the side
as, yeah,
this giant fucking sword
nearly skewers him again.
He's just like,
ah!
That points up at you.
Yeah, absolutely terrified,
but you are now on top of them.
Nova Vija. Nice. We go back to you right okay map um so we're so you are currently yeah you're on the outside of the wall around
the other side of the building basically on the outside of the wall okay yeah i guess just carry on running till we get to the gate yep okay so 5 10 15 20 25 30 i'm
just gonna move you because i think sorry i've actually screwed that no no that's okay uh wait
now wouldn't it be 60 if i'm dashing yeah so i was just checking it um can i add an extra 30 feet
because when i moved in my previous round i I didn't move 60, I moved 30.
I moved you the extra 30.
I've put you all together
because you're all in the exact same spot, basically.
Thanks, Ben.
Okay, Ayla.
You see Sentry on top of the wall
and then smash, smash, smash,
and all the gnolls are like,
Fuck!
In which case,
I'm gonna
come around
this side
and can I
rage
and I would like to smash
this dude.
Yeah, you come storming out your
invisible so you have advantage on the first attack. Yeah, you come storming out, you're invisible, so you have advantage
on the first attack. Yeah, this is the pack leader.
So you have advantage on the first attack
because you are invisible.
Trot these
dramatic suits.
It's really hard to control.
Sometimes.
15 plus 9.
Yeah, that's going to hit him. He's got an AC of 15.
Do I get advantage on both
shots?
Only on the first one, sadly.
I'm assuming you've switched back to your hammer?
Or are you still using the bow?
I didn't really ever take the bow out
because I decided against it.
Oh, that's true, you did.
That's only 2 for the second one. That's not going to hit.
So he only gets one damage.
It's going to be
14 damage
with a hammer and a dex
save.
Yes.
Fail.
Two lightning damage. Two lightning damage.
Two lightning damage.
So you kind of rush up.
I position myself so that some of this stuff I can use as cover.
Yeah, you're already kind of in that position as is.
You're kind of on the right side of the barricade to give you cover.
The only one who you won't get cover from is the archer on top of the wall above you.
So the first strike, coming out of invisibility,
you catch the pack lord unawares,
slamming him to the side with his heavy hammer
blow, but then by the time you manage to get the hammer
back up to take another swing, he's now
managed to fully right himself,
get in position, and takes a dodging
step backwards as you swing wide
as it goes
around him. But now you are
visible and in combat.
The gnolls!
The gnolls will basically begin to back off.
The gnolls!
They're running!
Well, they're basically backing themselves up
away from Sentry as much as possible.
The one on top of you, however, cannot.
He will just draw his axes
and feebly try
to swing at you twice.
That's a hit on the first one,
because that's going to be a 24.
And then that just misses because of the
Shield of Faith. The second one's only a
21, which the
Shield of Faith helps deflect. But the first one,
you're going to take six points of damage as this hand axe
kind of buries into your leg slightly.
And then the three,
two of them are going to take two shots at you, and then one's
going to shoot at Ayla. So
two of them are going to shoot at Sentry.
First one is a miss.
Second one is also a miss.
Third one's a miss.
Fourth one is a hit. You take another six
points of damage.
As these get more arrows ting ting ting ting ting and then one thuds you in the side as you're kind of like
standing over there taking damage from like 20 shots yeah it's ridiculous and then the one on
top of the wall is going to shoot down at ayla uh so that's a 21 to hit. And an 8 to hit. So you take 6 half to 3 points of damage.
As this other guy just stands on top and fires an arrow
and it kind of just grazes your arm.
You look at him, look back, carry on fighting.
You can see that they're basically trying to put as much distance
between themselves and Sentry, kind of leaving their companion to die.
trying to put as much distance between themselves and sentry kind of leaving their their companion to die um two boys two big gnolls with great swords come around the corner uh seeing as this
is the only threat that they are aware of at this point uh they come running up and then... That's a lot of guys.
It's a lot of guys, yeah.
These two greatsword-looking ones.
The century would have been on her own.
Yeah.
The ones with the greatswords look much better fed
and they have scraps of plate armour on them,
kind of like rusted iron curiouses.
Their greatswords are rusty and covered
in filth and grime,
but they look like they've eaten
well. They look strong,
hefting these greatswords above their heads.
Lucius, do you continue with the plan?
Yeah, buddy, I didn't
see them, so that's cool.
I'm going to go to Nova.
Yep, all the way down there.
I'm assuming Quill's going to do the same, so I'm just going to Nova. Yep, all the way down there. I'm assuming Quill's gonna do the same.
I'm just gonna move.
It's just because she moves at the end of the turn,
but because you guys waited for a minute and
a bunch of stuff. You're in the same position.
You guys are all in the exact same spot.
Can I see with the Arcane Eye?
Oh, it doesn't matter. It's fine.
We're almost round.
Well, I was just gonna say, if we can see that they're grouped up,
that's the plan coming into fruition. They're all grouped up. Well, the was just going to say, if we can see that they're grouped up, that's the plan coming into fruition.
Well, the Arcanine only has a range of 30 feet,
so you can't see any of that stuff with the Arcanine.
Ah, that's all right.
In theory, the Arcanine probably couldn't even really see Baraz,
but I don't care.
It's too far away.
The pack leader will turn on Aayla.
He will drop his bow and draw out his glaive
and he will try and take a swing at you
twice.
For a 15
and a 12.
Both miss, but he will
command
5, 10, 15, 20, 25,
30. Nope, he's not going to do shit.
He does nothing.
And then it goes to Sentry.
Alrighty.
So I would like to...
I think this is going to be the last round.
Actually, no, we can probably squeeze another one in.
Okay.
I would like to bonus action cast Moonbeam
on the guy on the opposite wall.
And then...
Is it a bonus action for Moonbeam?
No, it's an action. I think it might be a full action for Moonbeam? No, it's an action.
I think it might be a full action for Moonbeam.
Oh, is it an action?
Bonus action to move it once it's cast.
Bonus action to move it, yes.
Oh, yeah.
That's where I'm getting confused.
Cool.
You can still do that.
I will do that at level three, please.
And that's like a five-foot radius, isn't it?
Five-foot radius, yeah.
Okay.
Constitution saving throw.
What did I just roll? An 8. He fails.
Cool. So that
is...
2d10 radiant damage.
For that
boy. So roll a 2d10.
That's a
9 damage.
That's a 9, is it?
Yeah, 9 damage in total.
Okay, 9 damage to...
Who's that? D.
So the moonbeam
blasts down,
filling the whole of the top of the wall
with radiant energy,
burning the gnoll's flesh,
singeing it and causing it great pain
as it kind of reaches an arm up to try and you know shield its eyes from the light uh but still
it continues on drawing its bow back further nova i'm assuming you just keep moving yes please
just keep running just keep running running 10 15 guys are there. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60.
You are nearing the edge now.
Nearing the very edge of the wall.
Yeah, you just continue running on the outside of the wall, basically.
That's your turn.
Ayla, let's squeeze in another round.
Could I also just quickly, like messenger ring just be like how's
it everyone is it okay how's it going how's it going
there's a fuckload of people right here guys well Ayla
Aayla! It's a lot of gnolls!
Gnolls on tour! Gnolls on tour!
Can I...
take...
two whacks at the gnoll pack leader?
That's what you do! Do that whacking!
Um... 17 plus 9
to hit
that's a hit yeah 100%
and 19 plus 9 to hit
both of those will hit
so two whackins
first one is
13 damage
13 damage
one whack across the side.
15 damage and a dex save.
Oh, natural 20.
20 is quite high.
It takes two lightning damage.
I mean, even still, the two whacks,
I'm pretty sure you hear bones shatter or least like snap. It takes two lightning damage. I mean, even still, the two wax,
I'm pretty sure you hear bones shatter or at least, like, snap.
The lightning blast catches him in the chest.
He's still standing, but barely.
You can see him kind of clutching these bloodied wounds,
nursing, favoring one leg.
Just barely able to kind of stand together,
but, yeah, he's alive for the time being a lot of gnolls
then go we'll start with the one
actually fighting sentry
so two
hand axe attacks miss followed
by a hit take another six points of damage
sentry
and then let's see one
two two shots each towards sentry as well And then, let's see, one, two.
Two shots each towards Sentry as well.
A miss, followed by another miss, and then a hit, and a miss.
And I forgot about the sneak attack last time, so this hit actually does work.
So that is six, nine points of damage this time.
Ho- ho!
Another arrow kind of catches you in a vulnerable joint
between the armor plates.
And then the last one's going to shoot down at Ayla.
So that's a 20 and a 13.
So I'm guessing the 20 hits.
One hit.
Yeah, so six, half to three, because you're raging.
Three more points of damage as he shoots down at you.
He will also desperately try and get out of this moonbeam.
So I have a five, ten.
Probably actually jump down here.
Make a quick acrobatics check as he tries to jump down.
Oh, no, he fucked that up.
He takes six points of damage uh as this gnoll
tries to jump off of the wall
uh hoping to get away from
the big pillar of light and
he just lands really badly you see his
little biped uh his little uh digigrade
leg buckle and then he starts
limping away just like ow ow
as he skirt
tries to get away as much as possible
oh no um lesson that's all of them but then these two big as he tries to get away as much as possible.
Oh no.
Bless him.
That's all of them.
But then these two big boys come charging in.
One is going to just try and barrel through the barricade towards Aayla.
And then the next one's coming up towards the walls. So Aayla, one kind of comes smashing through,
and with his greatsword, he just flings several of these crates and barrels
that have been put together as a temporary barricade to the side
and comes barreling towards you as he does so.
He gets two...
Oh, he gets quite a few attacks, actually.
So he'll swing at you once with
his great sword uh for a 24 to hit so it's 11 half to five and then he's going to try and bite you
but the bite kind of just his jaws snap shut nearby uh as you kind of dodge to the side but
you can see that his mouth um several of of his fangs have been replaced with metal ones,
and they're just covered in grime and filth.
You can see some sort of viscous liquid all around his jaw.
Looks pretty nasty if he were to catch you in those.
And then the other one just dashes up the wall.
When he tries to bite me, I'm going to be like,
what the fuck are you doing?
I don't know.
Lucius and Quill, I'm assuming
the plan continues.
Yeah, I'm gonna run round
and Messenger Ring tell them
to try and group them up as close
as possible and maybe even bring them round
to our side as well.
Okay.
In his last thing
before we finish with Century,
the last round, the Pack Lord will command.
He's like,
Kill this one!
And the big guy with the great sword
is going to make another bite attack against you.
He's going to use his Incite Fury.
That is a 24.
Yes, 25 to hit you this time, Ayla.
Yes.
Commands the big guy.
So you're going to take seven points of piercing damage
and I need you to make a con saving throw for me,
please.
So that would have been half the three
because of your rage. Ow.
You are fine.
You feel it clamp in. Fifteen plus eight.
Yeah, you feel this, like, bite
clamp into your arm, but you manage
to kind of pull it away.
And there is some sort of viscous goo.
You just kind of brush it off before it kind of settles into your bloodstream.
And then the pack lord will just attempt to...
He will...
Yeah, he'll attack you twice with his glaive.
So first one is an 18 plus five is going to be a hit.
The next one is a miss.
So you're going to take...
Are you hitting me or Sentry? No, this is you. This is the to be a hit. The next one is a miss. So you're going to take... Are you hitting me or Sentry?
No, this is you. This is the pack lord fighting you.
That's going to be another 8 points of damage.
Half to 4.
This is the one that you've basically nearly killed.
Takes one feeble last strike at you.
And then Sentry.
Alrighty, I'm going to attack the guy that I'm nearby.
Old school style.
So first attack, 12 plus 9, 21.
Hits. Oh yeah, hits.
Hits, so then I'll do DA plus 4.
Bam bam bam bam bam!
Cool, and I'll add a level 1 device.
Well do your D4 for Her Majesty's Rose
and d4 for being enlarged as well.
Two extra d4s for that.
So it's 10, 11.
That's why I did it, because you don't need
to use the divine spike.
This guy
you just reach down
and swipe one blow
cleaves his head clean off
the immense extra strength granted by the enlarged spell. Just cleans itaves his head clean off. The immense extra strength granted
by the enlarged spell just cleans it, takes it clean off as his body goes flying through
the air and he is dead. Nice.
You still have movement and one attack left. And your bonus action.
As a movement, can I jump down off the wall onto the guy underneath me and do a second
attack against him.
Okay, so you can attempt to make it... You jump down onto him.
We'll make that your attack.
We'll give you advantage because you're jumping down
onto him. Before you make the attack,
make an acrobatics check for me.
Squeeze.
Oh, okay.
Nat 20!
Superhero land.
Smash into him. So when you attack this guy, you get advantage, because you're attacking him from an advantageous position, he's not expecting you to just jump down
on top of him. Cool, so 2d20 again.
Yeah, so yeah, attack him and take the highest.
So the 18 plus your modifier is absolutely going to hit him. Plus 9.
Yeah, easy. Nice. So then I'll do
standard ult, d8 plus 5
again. Bam.
Nice. 2d4.
Bam. Bam.
So,
916 damage.
And then I'll add another level.
I'll add the level 1 swipe to that one.
Oh my god.
You are the machine. Another d8.
This is it. I am the machine another d8 this is it i am
i won uh-huh uh that's only one d8 give me another one oh oh yeah hello
oh after all of that and then it's just a bit of a sort of let down divine smite um but yeah you
come sliding down bringing the large sword down on him.
He tries to block it with a greatsword, but the force is enough to send him jarring and sprawling back.
And he kind of stumbles back a few times as you land on top of him.
He's going to still technically get out of the way.
You just land on the ground, smashing, pushing him back.
You still have your bonus action. Do you want to move your moonbeam?
smashing, pushing him back.
You still have your bonus action. Do you want to move your moonbeam?
Yeah, I'll move my moonbeam onto
the guy next to Ayla. So not the guy
attacking Ayla, but the one about the one coming
through the barricade.
The hunger slave.
Yeah.
I can't move this. I'll fix this later,
but we'll know that it's on top of him
because we're going to have to wrap this up anyway.
Okay, you move that on top of him, and then at the start of his turn
I think he takes that damage.
Nova,
you finally...
You finally
reach the other side of the wall,
and you can see the doors into the winery
leading inside.
Where do you want to move?
I'm assuming you go up to the doors?
Yeah.
What do you want to do?
I'll go up to the door.
I guess, can I go through?
Yeah, you can open the doors.
If you open the doors, I think...
No, I won't.
That doesn't break invisibility.
It's not attacking across the spell.
But you open the doors, and then you can go through.
Can I sort of just...
Yeah, can I open the doors, but from the side?
So it's like I open it, but I'm kind of like...
Like, just don't want things to be shot in my face.
Okay, yeah, you open the doors.
What do I see?
You see a small room with a rug,
and another door directly in front of you,
and then two openings on either side.
Okay, um...
That seem to lead into
little kind of little antechambers and i can't see anyone um do i have how much more movement
do i have left i guess well that's you it took your movement pretty much to go 5 10 15 20 25
but yeah it took your movement to get to the door okay um, so I'll throw the door open and then I'll messenger ring
and just be like,
I'm at the door!
I'm at the door!
Can I dash to go through
or is that it for me?
Yeah, you can dash.
Yeah, you can.
But your dash would get you
in front of the other door
and then you'd be like...
Can I dash in
but not be in front
of the second door?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yep.
So you dash into the side,
push yourself up
against the stone wall
and there is another door
that seems to lead
into the major winery itself.
Yeah.
Messenger ring again.
I'll just be like,
I'm inside.
I'm inside by the second door.
Yeah.
And as you get then over,
I think you're the first one
that would hear this.
You can hear
just this constant
strange yapping voice,
like the same kind of language that the gnolls have been speaking earlier.
This yapping, cackling voice, like barks and growls.
But amongst all of it, you definitely can understand at least one word in common.
In fact, there's a couple of words in common you understand.
You can hear something in the room beyond
speaking in a
low, deep, rumbling voice
just kind of muttering to itself.
And amongst the words, amongst all
the barks and yips, you can hear
hunger.
And master. And that's where we're going to end today's episode. Hunger. Um.
Master.
And that's where we're going to end today's episode.
Yay!
I hunger.
Next turn, they're dead.
Next turn, the three magic spellcasters will
unleash their own attacks on
the remaining encounter
that was a completely separate thing
that has been brought
into one big messy
mess of a mess.
Today's plan was sure a thing!
Well,
listen, hey, you guys are here,
you're fighting, Sentry's
just kicking ass,
Aayla's now coming in kicking ass.
It's only gonna go better, right?
It's- it can only go better from here.
Wait, you're saying that like so depressed.
You're saying that like we're at a bad point right now, this is going amazingly.
No, I'm like saying this is amazing.
Sentry avoided like a hundred shots.
No, but she didn't avoid a lot, like, we've still taken damage.
As a count, R she's got lay on hands
i'm at 45 half health okay you're okay yeah i'm i'm okay but i'm half getting my damage
perfect you guys are fine i didn't enter with i didn't enter full health
even better look at that did you not enter with full health? No, my
dice were rubbish for my
HP
Stay safe, stay healthy
We love you, play lots of Dungeons & Dragons
and we'll see you next time
Bye everybody
Bye Thank you.
