Starting point is 00:00:04 Yo, yo, yo, yo, thought lawyers. What is up? I learned his on is I, Van Lathen, Jr. And it's me, Rachel and Lynn, Lindsay. Like, subscribe, and share on YouTube. Like, subscribe, share. On YouTube. It's great.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Rachel, your arms in the sling. What happened? I popped it out, popped my shoulder out of socket in my sleep. How does that happen? I don't know. I'm not thrilled about it. You popped your shoulder out of socket. It's an old basketball injury, but I haven't popped my shoulder out of socket.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Are you done? What you have? You're making faces looking at the camera. It is an old basketball injury. I haven't popped it out of socket in 10 years. And getting older, I guess, I was sleeping with my arms out. I sat up. It popped out of socket.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I was half asleep. Popped it back in. My body isn't healing the same way. so I am in a lot of pain right now. My body different. My body different. I'm hurting. While you think it's a joke.
Starting point is 00:01:17 I don't think it's a joke. I mean... It is... I really heard it. I mean, just popping out in your sleep, it's crazy. That's a crazy injury is just doing your sleep. But I've done it before. So the original injury was I was trying to block a shot.
Starting point is 00:01:32 I can't stand you. I can't stand you. I can't stand you. was trying to block a shot. And I was pressing my arm down on the ball. They were pushing up. And it just happened. But, you know, you have adrenaline.
Starting point is 00:01:48 I'm 8, 17, 18. Roll, popped it back here and ran in the sidelines played. But it was loose. It would happen a lot. Like, so I couldn't sleep with my arms out. Certain things, if I did them quickly, it would jolt. I got an MRI. It wasn't my rotator cuff.
Starting point is 00:02:02 They said therapy. I shoot therapy. I never did. And I truly haven't had an issue with it in 10 years. years. And I've worked on strengthening, you know, like, I have bad shoulders. My other shoulder gets tweaks, but this one rolls out. And so...
Starting point is 00:02:15 You ever see lethal weapon? No. In lethal weapon, Martin Riggs, his shoulder is always coming out of socket. Mm-hmm. He's a user. Ah! I'm going to kill him, Roche. I'm going to kill him.
Starting point is 00:02:32 I want to fucking kill him. Of course, I love the lethal weapon. I loved Braveheart. I loved Mad Max. I loved Maverick. I loved Ransom. I loved all of these movies. And Mel Gibson fucked it up.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Mel Gibson. Single most racist statement ever made. Yeah, we talked about it. I'll say it again. Single most racist statement ever made. You can't outraces this one statement. It's like, because once again, I'll say it again. The statement is, if you get raped by a pack of niggers, it'll be your fault.
Starting point is 00:03:17 He found a way to make niggers the least racist thing in the sentence. Mel's a visionary. So what do you do when this happens? You get a shot or something? What happens? No, I just pop it back in and keep it going. At one point, I was like, on muscle relaxers for it, but that wasn't. And you started to get a ticket.
Starting point is 00:03:40 No, no. I just, I couldn't function. Like, I couldn't work. I was practicing law at the time. Like, I couldn't. It wasn't good. But my body's not healing the same way. So I think I'm going to have to get an MRI this time
Starting point is 00:03:52 and make sure it's not something more serious. So what would you? It's hurting. It's hurting. Like, to function like this, because it originally happened before I had to take a flight this weekend, back on the grapes. Grape seam.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Grape seam. I couldn't lift my bag up overhead. I couldn't. And then I was moving around and it like weighs on you. You know, like my arm was tired because I was tired. It's like this, my arm becomes even heavier. So it's just like gotten worse over the last few days. I don't know how to describe it.
Starting point is 00:04:21 All I've been taking is a leave. I probably won't even go get an MRI because that's just me. I'm not you. I mean, I would go get the MRI. You would, what? You would be in a hospital bed right now. But the reality is like my- I don't want to have surgery.
Starting point is 00:04:36 My shoulder would also heal though. So, like, it wouldn't be, I would, I would, you're dealing with the same thing. So I wouldn't be dealing with this years and years. It would heal. Like, all of these fingers, pop out socket. Bang, bang, bang, bang, pop out socket. This one, if, if I'm in the basketball league and we get to, like, it's going to pop out, it's going to pop out. But I deal with it.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Basketball, huh? Yeah, basketball. It pops out because I play basketball. You played basketball. See, I still play. This is why I can't play anymore. Yeah, whatever. You said you could guard Caitlin Clark.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Caitlin Clark will have your fucking arm on the ground, right? One hand in. The arm would be off the thing. The arm would be down on the ground. She's starting to figure it out. By the way? Yeah, I know. You guys, a lot of people that were talking to you about Caitlin Clark
Starting point is 00:05:23 is going to be a long 10 to 15. She's got into group, which we knew she would, right? Yeah. It's not like she's some bump player just happened to have a good year. No, she's just finding her way in a new league. I'll be honest with you, man. It's going to be bad. Okay?
Starting point is 00:05:43 It's going to be bad, man. Because she still hasn't gotten to the point to where she's playing exactly exactly the same game she played in college. And who knows, maybe it never gets quite that point. But she sees the court, all of that. The percentages are going up. Her plus minus, it's going to be bad. It's going to be. Kaelin Clark is going to be.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Caitlin Clark, and it's happening. It's happening. Good for her. Well, anyways, I'm trying to avoid surgery. You don't want to get surgery. You're scared of it. No, it's just going to put me out for like eight weeks. Out of what? You're acting like out of what? Use of my arm. I don't have to play a sport to be inconvenienced. I'm, this is my right shoulder. I'm dominant with my right. That's your drinking shoulder. Don't underestimate me. That's your drinking shoulder. I don't need it. Ands, don't underestimate me. Whoa. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Whoa. Whoa. What? Whoa. Whoa. This is crazy. That is the ultimate pause of all of higher learning history. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:06:58 The whole booth is going crazy back there. Ashley knows. Everyone that's listening right now. Whoa! Whoa, this is a single woman, guys. We're cutting that out. Do not cut this out. We're cutting that out. We've got to let the guys know. Do not. Stop, stop, stop.
Starting point is 00:07:18 My point being, this is my dominant arm. So it's hard. Like, I drive with this. I like, you know, brush my teeth. I get ready. It's hard to function. I can use it. It's just that I forget.
Starting point is 00:07:31 And so I'll move my arm a certain way. And it just, like I'm not sleeping well. hard to sleep because I'm trying to like keep my, I'm scared, to be honest, I'm scared of putting my, whatever I did before. I'm a wild sleeper sleeping with my arms out like that. Pain, yeah, yeah, yeah. So what do they do? They shoot you up with something or it's like, what do they do? Last time I got put on like four different medications. I just remember one was Tramidol. One was a pain because Traminole is the muscle relaxer, right? I don't know what it is. I'm not bad. Well, Tramidol, I think it was a pain killer, a leave something else. And it,
Starting point is 00:08:05 I was not okay. I couldn't function. So, I don't know. I'm just a tough about person. If there's orthopedic people out there and listen to the podcast, if you have any advice for Rachel and what she should do to deal with this. Yeah, no, because it's actually really messing with me. I'm not sleeping.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I'm not getting good sleep. But maybe, so if you have any advice for Rachel out there, I don't know, like Dr. Clapper from the weekend warrior show, you know what that is? No. Dr. Clapper. Oh, man. So I don't know if it still comes on, but this tells you how serious I was about all of these different leagues that I was in. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:41 There was a show that came on ESPN radios in the morning on Saturday. It was called The Weekend Warrior Show. Okay. A guy named Dr. Clapper, who was like one of the doctors for the Lakers or something. And he was such a great delight to listen to on the radio because he would always talk about how he would go surfing and all the music he was listening to. It was like a delightful doctor. But he would like take calls and answer questions from guys that had injuries. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:09:09 That had like sports injuries. I remember he said something so interesting one time. Where is he? I don't know if the show still comes on. Dr. Clapper's show still come on. I haven't listened to it for a long time. I haven't been as active in my leagues. But I would listen to him because I would have injuries.
Starting point is 00:09:21 I'd like, you know, my fingers would be messed up. My ankles is true. I would actually be playing. I never did it into my sleep. I did it on the basketball court. Well, that's where it originated. Yeah, well, yeah. So there was one time, very interesting, Dr. Clapper, we were talking about the injuries that were coming up in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:09:43 People were having like crazy injuries. Kevin Durant was getting injured a little bit, and you had Paul George injury, and there was some different injuries that were coming up. And he said something that was very interesting. It was almost controversial to say, but it was interesting. He goes, when you're looking at some of the bone injuries that you're seeing, people breaking things. he's like, I have a fix for that. He's like, what I think they should start doing is putting UV lights inside these indoor gyms. He's like, because young black athletes, you know, they need the vitamin D that they get from the sun helps strengthen their bones and all of that stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:29 He goes, in the past, when players were playing outdoors, you saw less of those types of injuries because they were playing outside and getting a lot of the sun. He's like, now no one plays outdoors anymore. He's like, all of the basketball is taking place inside of these gyms. And he's like, there's a chance that over the course of doing this for a long time, you're seeing a weakening and a bristling of some of the bones and stuff like that. Oh, she's taking it off.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I remember him saying, I was like, that's interesting. That's why I watched Dr. Clapper. We need them now. You need help you. So is there a higher percentage of black athletes breaking bones? I don't know. Well, there's just more black athletes. Yeah, I just know at this time, a question was asked, like, why do we,
Starting point is 00:11:09 why are we seeing guys break so much stuff? And all like, we're not talking about tendon injuries and ACLs and all of that stuff, but there was like a broken bone thing. It was very interesting, Dr. Clapper. Shout to Dr. Clapper if you listen to this, but you're not. All right. We got to get into it because it, you know, some stuff happened. It's moving and shaking going on in the world right now.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Yes. Okay. So we got to talk about RFK Jr on the other side of this break. RFK Jr is now with Trump. Trump has a new ally. His name is RFK. Junior. Junior, yes, true.

I kept telling you, it was one thing. I mean,
Starting point is 00:13:24 you know, kudos to you for like trying hard. But it was. We're ruining the show. No, you didn't ruin the show. But we talk about bending the knee. This is one of the biggest bending of the knees. Trump bent the knee as well, by the way. Trump bent the knee, in my opinion, in Georgia to Brian Kemp. As he's been on Brian Kemp's ass for four years now.
Starting point is 00:13:48 That's very true. He needs Georgia. Can't win without Georgia. Brian Kemp is very popular in Georgia. Trump, in my opinion, I don't know if you guys saw this, but Trump and Brian Kemp called the truth. To me, that's Trump the first time I've ever seen him bend the knee. The first time I've seen him.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Does that show his desperation? Absolutely. Has to have Georgia, has to get over with Brian Kemp, had it and told him Brian Kemp's wife, the whole nine going crazy. Let's be honest. Trump does this to everyone. I mean, we're leading into a conversation with JFK. He said JFK Jr.
Starting point is 00:14:22 RFK Jr. He said crazy things about RFK Jr. too. And now he's running back to Trump and bending the knee, kissing his hand. They all do. But normally it happens the other way around. Normally Trump accepts you back into the fold or into the fold. I haven't seen it. And if the audience has any examples of it, I haven't seen it too many times where Trump has come back to somebody that he, because Brian Kemp doesn't need Trump. He's very popular in Georgia. he probably is next up
Starting point is 00:14:58 in terms of the Republicans if the MAGA movement kind of dies. He doesn't need Trump, but Trump needs him. Anyway, RFK has dropped out and supported Trump.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Rachel, this has been hinted about earlier in the week. It happened. What does it mean? What does it mean to you? I mean, to me personally, it doesn't mean the thing.
Starting point is 00:15:19 What do I think it means in regards to this election? First off, I just want to say first. The Kennedy family cracks me up. Funny. Because they will protect their image over anything else. And they want to make it very clear upon any big move that RFK Jr. makes that they don't agree with it and they are not affiliated.
Starting point is 00:15:42 And I find it hilarious every single time. It's a formal statement. It's a letter. You know, like they're on camera. They're taking pictures. They're doing whatever they have to do to let you know. He is not like us. and I'd just love to see it every single time,
Starting point is 00:15:57 even though RFK Jr. was on Fox News saying that there are family members who work with him and support him, but we don't, I don't know who they are. We don't hear from them. They definitely are staying quiet and in the shadows. Anyways, what does this mean to me? Like I said, nothing. What does this mean for the polls? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:13 I've seen conflicting things, right? I've seen 538 was saying that it does, it's fluctuating like it normally would in elections. is what I saw them say. But then I'm also seeing people say, listen, in certain states, the, I mean, obviously the people that were supporting him dropped when Biden dropped out of the race and Kamala Harris jumped in. Those people who, I guess, you know, maybe were, didn't like Biden, thought he was too old, thought, you know, weren't inspired by him, have moved over to the Harris campaign, Harris Wall's campaign. But from what I'm seeing,
Starting point is 00:16:51 it doesn't seem like there's that much of a difference in the margins. I mean, maybe some key states, like Arizona where Biden barely won, if that's close, and those supporters do end up going over, RFK junior supporters do end up going over to Trump. If it's close like that again in this election, then maybe that has some difference in those battleground states. But honestly, don't you think it's too quick to tell? At this point, you can't really tell. And I feel like that's why we're seeing conflicting polls.
Starting point is 00:17:21 overtweet this model and in his model, both candidates gained a little bit, Trump gained a little bit more, but it didn't significantly change the polling in any way. I think it's significant for a couple of reasons. One, I think that it
Starting point is 00:17:39 does a lot of damage to the third party movement that was so vibrant just a little bit ago in this election. Under him? Well, I mean, What RFK ended up, RFK Jr. ended up outing himself as was as cynical and as power starved and headline starved as any candidate from the Democrat or Republican Party has ever been. Like he had, what he was able to do was establish himself as sort of an anti-establishment, anti-DNC,
Starting point is 00:18:21 voice on the left that was getting back to the problems, this is from his perspective, problems that afflict, you know, the regular American. He was going to talk about health,
Starting point is 00:18:34 which he talked about a lot. When he was announced with Trump, I think it was out in Arizona, he was going to talk about the plight of the same type of American that his uncle and his father cared about in the 60s. And that it was important for him
Starting point is 00:18:50 to stay out of the structure of the two-party system to be able to do that. But that's not who he ended up being. He ended up being someone who just wanted a mic in his face. And whoever gave him that mic, he would be loyal to them.
Starting point is 00:19:05 He had asked for this from Trump. It wasn't at that time probably seen as being needed, right? Because Joe Biden was still running and they thought that they still had a beat on Joe Biden. And then he, when he saw the surge, and Kamala Harris and Tim Laws, he went with them.
Starting point is 00:19:25 They wouldn't even meet with them. He said as much during one of his speeches. And then Trump got desperate. RFK saw his political career or his political moment disintegrating. And so he went to the first person that would put a mic in front of his face and give him the opportunity to be seen and heard. That plus the fact that J.D. Vance is just an abject disaster. Oh, my God. He's so bad.
Starting point is 00:19:53 The donut shop situation was terrible. So bad. You know. And so Trump has essentially replaced J.D. Vance with RFK. But everything that RFK was talking about, I mean, he comes off like the most insincere con man ever. But he just doubled down on it. To me, he's done some damage to the people that were saying, hey, there need to be other voices that exist in politics other than just the Democratic. and Republicans. But see, that's, to what you said right there is how I see it, I don't think anybody
Starting point is 00:20:25 was following RFK Jr. because they truly believed in his movement. To me, it seemed to be more of a rebellious thing of, I don't like Trump, I don't like Biden. Like, I know some people who were going to vote for RFK Jr. And I don't think they'll vote at all now. And I think, so that's why it's also hard for me to say, well, I think, you know, those followers will follow him to Trump. or, you know, they'll just jump over, you can't just say they'll jump over to Harris. I think a lot of people were not with Biden or Trump. Some people still aren't with Harris-Walls campaign. And so they won't vote at all.
Starting point is 00:21:00 But I just don't see it as, like, to quote Kamala Harris, he's a very unsurious man, right? She said that about Trump, but RFK Jr., very insurious man. Democrat, independent. Now he's going to Trump. To your point, anybody who will listen, give him a position of power, because we know he wants that within Trump's administration. And, you know, where he can just, like, keep this, his political career going. That's all it seems to be.
Starting point is 00:21:25 So I don't, I didn't see this as this big third party movement more than it was just, I'm anti the choices that we have. At one point, he was polling around 20%. Because they were so, I think, it wasn't a belief in him. He's a quack. But I don't think it was a belief in him. I think it was just so we hate what our options are. Right. I can see that. Which is why it dipped so much, in my opinion, when Biden dropped off.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Because it's not that they're truly following this man. They were anti what they, what was placed in front of them. It had dipped a little bit prior to that, though, because... He was like 10. The wackiness was just fucking crazy. At, like, the more you got to know about him, you know, some people were a little bit initiated with some of the vaccine stuff, but then they got to know more about that. He has the weirdest set of stories ever. He is like... Did you hear about the whale? I don't understand how so...
Starting point is 00:22:26 I really don't understand how one person could have found themselves in this many different situations with dead animals. He is the biggest enemy of mammals I've ever seen before in my life. He's got dead dog. He's got dead bear. He's got cutting the head off of... a whale and strapping it onto a car and driving it's just
Starting point is 00:22:51 he's with kids in the car he's a serious man it goes beyond right now if someone said that there was a killer on the loose in the New York area in fucking 2003 and he had killed like five coeds and then they traced it back to it being RFKG
Starting point is 00:23:13 I wouldn't be surprised at all this is a very very odd guy. But also a privileged man. This is a man who he's been able to act this way also because of the family name. He's unhinged. He's very privileged. He's gotten away with this for such a long time. Yes, he's as odd behavior, but I think that's why he's been able to continue to do it in this way. Yeah. So I think there were a lot of people that wanted to take him seriously, to your point, that wanted to believe that there was another voice out there that they should be taken taking interesting.
Starting point is 00:23:47 I do think now, though, that this is something that's indicative of so many other things in society right now. Super loud, but insignificant. And it says more about where Trump's campaign is right now and that they are
Starting point is 00:24:05 desperately looking for any type of difference maker, anything to stop the momentum of Kamala Harris and they are flailing. They thought this was going to be it. They think that this is going to be it. There are certain states where, I mean, he didn't say,
Starting point is 00:24:24 he said he's suspending his campaign. Yes. There are certain states where he's going to be on the ballot. And he is encouraging people to vote for him in those, which is wild to me. You're encouraging people to have a vote that doesn't matter. But in places where it's a battleground state, he wants his name off the ballot so those votes can potentially go to Trump. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:24:43 it's just weird. He's standing there with the architect of Operation Warp Speed. Trump desperately wanted the vaccine to come out prior to election day so that he could take credit for the vaccine. Sure, sure. And use that to buoy him in the election, hey, I gave you a vaccine. The vaccine is going to save lives because he had been so bad on COVID. And so the lack of leadership, the absence of leadership on COVID was to me the thing that was the day. death and Trump's re-election claims and campaign, should I say.
Starting point is 00:25:18 And RFK, who has made being anti-vax, his entire personality is with Trump. It's just none of it matters. I encourage people to really, especially in an election like this, have a clear vision of what matters to you, of what your priorities are, like, really, really, get a sense of how you see the world and how that translates into policy because believing anything that any of these people say is just, it's an exercise and absurdity. It makes absolutely no sense. Like loud but insignificant. RFK, do your thing, man. Um, ooh. Oh. Oh. What? Cam Newton. First of all, before we get into Cam Newton, how do you feel about the archetype of rich guy with a bunch of kids.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Does it bother you? Not personally. I'm not up in arms at the fact when I look at like a Nick Cannon. I was trying to think of other examples, which is why I was pausing. Oh, it's many. Or Cam Newton or an Elon Musk
Starting point is 00:26:39 or, you know, because I don't want to just make something like it's black man. I'm not personally bothered by it. You know, the women are obviously who decide to have children with them are involved as well. So, like, I don't, it's a decision that they've decided to make. I'm more so feel, you know, for the children who don't have a choice.
Starting point is 00:26:57 And, like, that, you know, to the point as we get into this video to show that it's really not this one big family or this one big union, you know? Like, it's not, it's not what the picture is being painted as, like, by a Cam Newton. So I'm not really personally bothered by it. But, like, I don't get it. And I think I'm, if I'm bothered by anything, I'm bothered at the justifiable. what seems to be by the men for doing it. The backbending and the overreaching to try to convince us to get down with your reasoning for doing this. And it's just that that's what if you're going to do it, do it and like keep it moving.
Starting point is 00:27:39 What we see Cam Newton do here as we'll get into, I just, that's the kind of stuff that bothers me. Don't like, what's the same, peel my leg and tell me it's raining. Yeah. Yeah. So he was on his show, Funky Friday, his podcast, this was a very good podcast. And he had a shining star. Everywhere I see her, she's breaking it down. I love her.
Starting point is 00:28:02 Dr. Cheyenne Bryant was a conversation, was on marriage and dating. And he has eight kids by three different women. Came out there making it happen. But he said he's taking this time when it comes to marriage and then they had this back and forth. A lot of people see my situation and I think that I'm not high function. What situation?
Starting point is 00:28:21 See, my situation. That's a very vague question in this for you. What situation are you referring to that they're looking at and thinking is not high function? Just my life. Your life entirely or your life in relationships? My life, my life. See, don't deflect. Let's stay here.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Your life entirely are your life in relationships? Both, really. And they think that you're low functioning? No, I don't. You just said people see your life and think you're not high functioning. The opposite of that would be low functioning. No, no, no. Okay, so here you go.
Starting point is 00:28:49 You're trying to take my intentions away from this is can I can I correct it? Yeah go ahead. Or can I give you more information? Thank you. So I'm not married, right? I have beautiful children. How many? Eight.
Starting point is 00:29:03 I thought I didn't do my research. I thought it was four but eight okay. No baby. It's, it's eight. Three. And this is the kicker. I want more. Now.
Starting point is 00:29:15 By multiple women? What's the intent? I just want your wife. I just want God to bring him. Oh, okay. And you have, so you just... Because my point is this. My desire to get married
Starting point is 00:29:26 is lower than my fear of divorce. So, as you had said, Dr. Bryan, you said it, I didn't say it. I will agree. I'm just taking my time. You're not taking your time. I am, though.
Starting point is 00:29:41 You're being very action-based. You're not taking your time. You're being very action-based. I'm taking my time. You're being very action-based. You have eight. kids with three different women. You are creating, procreating, and multiplying. That is not taking your time. You're being very selectively active. Okay? So you're creating in disclaimer. The kids are innocent. They are beautiful and amazing. Anything I say has none do with them babies because I can't wait to be a mom and I love, love, love, love, love the kids, period. But you are proactively choosing where you want to be active at and where you want to take your time. You want to take your time in having a wife because of your own fears.
Starting point is 00:30:23 But you will, and I say this with all respect and love, what I'm about to say next, okay, Cam. But you will selfishly create broken families, even if you're in their life and you're a proactive father. And I believe you're an amazing daddy. I can only imagine with just your presence and knowing you thus far. But these families are still broken. Every child cannot have Papa in the house with them. So some child, if not all, will end up with some kind of deficit without daddy being there. Now, you chose to do that.
Starting point is 00:30:55 I'm not saying you sat there and woke up one morning and said, I want to be selfish today, so I'm going to go make a baby. Not saying that at all. But those are selfish acts at the expense of your fear. So at what point do you feel the fear, do it anyways? And yeah, that is a low-functioning behavior. To say that I am going to create these homes. Let me go better.
Starting point is 00:31:15 I'm going to build these houses and put kids and these beautiful women and kids in them, but I ain't going to create a home in them. I'm going to wait until I dissipate my fear to find a wife where I'm still going to be fearful with because there's no such thing as not having some type of nerve or some type of feeling behind marrying somebody who you're spending your life with. And then I'm going to build a home with her while all these other beautiful babies have houses. That's completely unfair and it's selfish. You know what my favorite thing is?
Starting point is 00:31:46 What? My favorite thing in life is when someone is too smart for bullshit. That's my favorite thing. My favorite thing is when you, Cam was so confident. So thought he dropped a bar. He was so confident. And to be honest with you, Cam is very, very savvy and astute, smart guy.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Nick is as well. She was on council culture with Nick Cannon as well. And she basically did Nick the same way. when someone is too smart to be bullshitted, it is my favorite thing in the world. He was like, I'm just taking my time. That line, that method of thinking has worked on so many people. Of course.
Starting point is 00:32:30 It's probably worked on a lot of those women. It did not work on that woman. Not probably. It has, which is why they're in that situation. Right. Why do you think the women that are involved with Cam Newton or Nick Cannon or any of these other men, be it future, be it Elon Musk, whoever it will be, whoever it is.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Why do you think the women aren't held to the same standard in a lot of cases that the men are? Well, I don't necessarily think that they're not held to the same standard. Just you're talking about the men are the ones who are famous. I mean, is it the last mother of Cam's child? Is your name Jasmine? Jazzy, yeah. A lot of people have come at Jazzy for the fact that, I guess,
Starting point is 00:33:13 of prior things that she said on the stage. She's a comedian. I'm not sure she has, like, radio or talk, but I know she's known. A lot of people came... Yeah, he's a funny comedian. A lot of people have come at her for the fact that she had a child with Cam Newton.
Starting point is 00:33:25 They called her a hypocrite. They, you know, like, they compared her to other women. So I think because she's known, people do criticize her. The thing is, is with Nick Cannon's mothers, the mother of his children, I mean, they're not as known. The one who's on Selling Sunset, they were critical. I watched that show. They were critical of her.
Starting point is 00:33:43 it. So I don't think that it's gender-specific. I think people criticize it, period. But I'm not going to, again, the reason I don't take it personal is because marriage is a choice. Not everybody prioritizes marriage in the same way. Some people don't want to be married. For some people, this is actually what they want to do. And I think that, you know, it's hard for some people to accept that because traditionally it's supposed to be marriage and then children. Or, you know, you get married and then you, I mean, you might have a child, and then you get married because you have a child. Like traditionally, that's the way things have worked in the society. And for some people, they're not subscribing to that.
Starting point is 00:34:20 And that's fine. But then don't lie about it. Don't say, well, the reason that I'm not doing it is because of my fear of divorce. No, you are prioritizing what you want, and what you want is to make children. You just don't want any without the- Where do you think that comes from? Like, where does the idea of, I want to, I can't think of anything that I want less than to have nine kids.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Like, what is the idea that I want to? I'm curious about that. I think it's a little ego. He wants more children, right? He said he has eight children, three different women, or four different women. It's three different women. He has eight children. He wants more children.
Starting point is 00:35:03 So Cam Newton, who is a guy who made a lot of money and has a lot of resources, but doesn't have endless money and endless resources. right? Wants to have more children for what reason? I think it's ego. I think it's pride. I think you like seeing that you,
Starting point is 00:35:24 like that's your child. You made that. That's your seat. How many times you got to do that, though? I'm guessing here. I can't get into the mindset of a Cam Newton. But it sounds like there's a lot of pride in the fact that those are mine.
Starting point is 00:35:39 That's what it sounds like. You know, he's like, have eight, and good for him for like loving his eight beautiful children. But to me, that's, if I'm guessing, that's what it seems like. Also, is this a, is this how he is? I don't listen to the podcast. Is this a persona or is he like really like this? Not the kid, not the kid thing, just like the way he was talking, the way, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:36:03 is this a character he's playing? No, it's a part. That's what I is. Because to me, that was like, listening to him talk was like Nell's scratching on a chalkboard. That's Cam. I was hoping it was a character. The way he types, the whole, the characters that he types in, and the way he dresses
Starting point is 00:36:18 the whole not. You know what I think some of this has to do with, particularly with a guy like Cam, maybe? You got to think about all that he's accomplished, right? I think with a lot of people in terms of children, it's almost like they're creating a new crowd to cheer for them. Maybe, yeah. Worship them. Look up to them. Yeah, like when you look at Cam Newton, had a fantastic prep career,
Starting point is 00:36:50 goes on the Florida, leaves Florida, gets kicked out of Florida, whatever, goes to a junior college and goes to Auburn, one sensational season, Hosman trophy. Cam is used to being worshipped. It's a gigantic, great-looking, confident athlete.
Starting point is 00:37:07 He's used to being worshipped. I think a lot of men in these situations, they're reckless because they never really had accountability because of who they are, right? If you work up the street at an auto zone or if you even have your engineer, whatever you have, and you have eight kids or nine kids, there is going to be a penalty for that that you're going to feel. You're going to feel a financial strain. You're going to feel even a societal strain from that. People are going to look at you at a different way.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Well, we don't hold prominent men to that same standard when they do this. It becomes a quirk. It doesn't become something that's destructive or makes broken homes or makes children who don't have functional relationships with their kids. It becomes a joke. It becomes a part of their persona. So there's really nothing to stop them from doing it. And the reasons why they're doing it are fascinating. This is Cam and Nick.
Starting point is 00:38:05 Like, Nick as well. Like, why at this point do you feel? the need to have so many different children, people that are going to look like you and depend on you, but just by the function of time, going to have less access to you, then they would have been a different situation. Well, Nick Cannon has acknowledged that. I don't know what interview I was watching him do that in, but he acknowledged the fact that it's easier now because they're young.
Starting point is 00:38:32 But as they're getting older and they're involved in extracurricular activities or have graduations at schools or just different functions, he's not going to be able to split his time with all of them, some of them being so close in age and within the same grades and stuff. And so he's actually acknowledged the difficulty of it as they're getting older and their lives are changing. Cam's not there yet. He hasn't done that yet. I don't know if he will. But it's interesting because he was on Shannon Sharp's show and he acknowledged, you know, pretty much set the same sentiment of like how he's always wanted a big family. but I find that so interesting.
Starting point is 00:39:08 You are connected to all these children. They're your kids. But family is a union. All these women and these children are not all connected in the same way. Maybe they celebrate holidays. You don't have them living all under one roof. So to say you want this big family because you're continuing to procreate is selfish, just like the doctor is saying in this.
Starting point is 00:39:31 It's selfish. I am. That's right, right. It's selfish because you're saying, I want a big family just because you're producing. But they're not connected. There's no union. That's not family.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Like you have a relationship with each individual unit, but not all together. It's nation-making. Yeah. It's like you're making a crowd. You're making a kingdom of Cam. You're making the kingdom of Nick. You're making the kingdom of Musk. It's nation-making.
Starting point is 00:39:57 And he's smart enough to recognize that. He knows that. That's why having a conversation with her is, I love. that she put him in his place because it's like, no, no, no, no, no. Like, don't try to, like, gaslight me into believing what you've been able to have other people believe. No, this is the truth of what the situation is. And he knows it. We also look at, it's funny, we look at fatherhood as showing up.
Starting point is 00:40:28 But really, fatherhood, in my opinion, the relationship I had with my dad was more about being there than showing up. And let me tell you the two differences. Of course. Yeah, yeah, I get you. Like showing up is your kids got something. Kids got a game. Kids got a recital. Your kids got something. You show up as a dad.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Your kid needs something. You show up. That's, I remember that. But I also remember just being there because being there is different. Because being there is like, you walk by me. And you go, what's wrong with you? And I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. What's bothering you?
Starting point is 00:41:06 like what's bothering you talk to daddy talk to daddy about it I'm gonna get emotional it's like what's like what's bothering you was like nothing he's like son what's going on
Starting point is 00:41:19 I don't I feel like this I feel like that this is you know it's like whatever I don't want and then you sit down take your hat off
Starting point is 00:41:26 and you talk like you talk for a little while you have a conversation like somebody that knows you you enough and is there in proximity with you enough to know when you're off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Like to know when you're not feeling good, to know when you need to be pushed a little harder, to know when they need to pull back a little bit. Like they are around you, they know you. They know when you've done something. You know, and that is like anything else, you just have to be there for that. You can't, that's not,
Starting point is 00:42:02 you can't do that over text. Right. or money. Or through money. You can't do that over. You got to be there for that. And look, there are fathers all over the place that are doing their best to do that in situations where they really can't. I'm saying, and I'm not taking anything away from those guys and those men that are in those situations and families look all kinds of different ways.
Starting point is 00:42:26 But what I am saying is if you got 12 kids, like eight kids, four or five, you just, you can't. do it. You can't. It's impossible. It's different if, you know, you might have been with someone and, you know, it didn't work out and you have another family and you're trying to split your time with both. It's another thing to intentionally create these divided families, which is what he's doing. And something else that you said about being there, which is so different. It's one thing to go to the basketball game, right? It's one thing to go to the graduation. It's another thing to be there and help you with your work that helped you graduate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Help you with your shot or dribbling or whatever to get there. So you see it, you know, like the progression of it rather than just showing up. Yeah, yeah. But look, both good brothers, man, but it's important that we like him, we like Nick, but it's important for us to have real conversations about the fact that this is a society that we've built, fatherhood, motherhood, because we really have to. to have a conversation about these women because I'll, I just be, I'm being honest with you. What you mean about these women?
Starting point is 00:43:37 About these women, we have to have a conversation about these women because a lot of these women that we're talking about in both situations, in my opinion, are cynically signing up to be a part of these harems because of the fame, notoriety, and financial situation that that comes with. So a lot of these women that we're talking about in both situations are signing up because they feel like being a part of these harems, that they're, this is essentially what they're a part of. They're a part of harems.
Starting point is 00:44:07 These are two different harems that they're a part of. Being a part of these harems is going to provide them an easier or a softer life than it would if they went out there and got things by themselves. Okay, that's a big assumption because you can't say that about the first person who had a child with him. I'm not saying that, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:44:23 Whoa, whoa, whoa. I said a lot of, I didn't say all of. I said a lot of these women, a lot of these women want to be a part That's some women. The circle and harem of Nick Cannon or Cam Newton or Elon must say love it. I'm not going to say that some women, I can't go and say like a lot of women or majority of women. That's just not fair and that's not true. But absolutely there are women who do this kind of situation thing.
Starting point is 00:44:44 There are also women who believe, and it's something that's innately within us, believe that you can change the person. I'm not saying it's okay. I'm just saying like speaking from a woman's perspective. So wait, wait. So if you're Nick Cannon's. 10th baby's mom. Because you got to be a fucking moron.
Starting point is 00:45:03 I'm sorry. And they might be. If you're Nick Cannon's 10th baby's mother. And I'm not, and I'm not, I can't speak to them. Because not everybody who, like, there's one of the mother of his children who is not even involved. Like, has a baby and is in a totally different relationship. You know, she's not with them. She's, none of that.
Starting point is 00:45:20 So who knows to say, but I'm just saying, as a woman, I just know that sometimes you think it'll be different. You think you can change it. You think that. Maybe they, and not to put it all on the man, but you don't know what is being said to them to make them feel that is, oh, really? Yeah. Really? So, so men don't tell women sometimes, and maybe vice versa, what they want to hear. It could go, and I can do it the opposite way.
Starting point is 00:45:47 It could be women saying, I'm cool with your situation, I'm cool with whatever, I'm down with whatever, and then not be okay with them. I'm not saying, what I'm saying is this. There are definitely situations where feelings are. involved and people might even want, people say things to women, women say things to men, and they believe and feel those actual ways. It goes both ways. I know. But what I'm telling you right now, right now is if somebody already has, if you're the fourth or the fifth, if somebody already has 10 or 11 children, eight children, nine children. Nine children. and they are talking to you
Starting point is 00:46:31 and you are an adult, you have got to be realistic and like honest about who that person is. If you are about to be baby's mom number
Starting point is 00:46:45 eight, nine, whatever, he's got eight kids is going to be different with me. I know somebody who's living. I know somebody who's living proof of that. It's going to be
Starting point is 00:46:59 different with me. I'm talking about... I know somebody who's living proof of it. I'm talking about... That married and they have six kids together. Okay, they have... But they're married and they have six kids together. Now. But he has six kids before that, or I'm not sure how many... Okay. So all I'm saying is this. It's rare, but it happens. I'm not saying that people say things and they leave people down the primrose path and people
Starting point is 00:47:21 also stay with people through things that maybe other people would have left them. What people do in their relationship and how they get over the pitfalls and the problems in their relationships. That's all about them. We're not in people's houses. We don't know what they are doing. Every perfect relationship that you think has climbed over a mountain, right? I'm not, that's not really what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:47:43 What I'm talking about is if you roll up on a guy that has 10 children by like six or seven or eight or nine different women. and you endeavor into becoming the 11th, you to me are just as much a part of the problem as he is. I'm not going to disagree with that. I was just saying we don't know what's being said on her in or we don't know what says on him. No, I just said, I literally go. I think there are women who are like,
Starting point is 00:48:14 I'm cool with it, I'm okay with it, and they know they're not. But I get what you're saying, but why do we, like, so we just watch Cam Newton dope himself, Yeah. And we held him accountable for the fact that he's duping himself. Why don't we hold the women accountable for being duped? We do. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:38 But the reason I can't, the reason I can't, because we're speculating with these women right now, put the one of these women on the microphone, and then you can dissect what it is or watch their duke themselves. Fair enough. Right? Like we're guessing. Got to hear from them and you say it's not fair enough. I get you.

All right, speaking of having children, or maybe not having children, send the video, Anthony Edwards and Magic Johnson got into it.
Starting point is 00:50:33 Well, he did son him. He son who? Magic did. Magic sunned. Yeah. So speaking of kids. This is Anthony Edwards being over his skis. A little bit.
Starting point is 00:50:47 So Anthony Edwards said that only one dude. in the 80s has skill and that was Jordan. Did he say the 80s? He said in the 80s back in the day, look up the exact quote. I feel like he said there was really only one guy that was skilled in the 80s and that was Jordan. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:51:08 I'm insane. I fuck with that. I do too. I think he's so cute. Anthony Edwards. Yeah, I mean, he's a baby. He's so cute. Oh, you like that type of shit.
Starting point is 00:51:16 No, I think he's cute. Oh, you like it. Okay. He's young. Oh, as he's showing himself here to baby. Maroney. Backstage, Underage. By the way, I was listening to that song came on. These records are crazy. No, I know, but I forgot about that. These records are crazy. So bad. Okay. We talked about John B. in the second verse of
Starting point is 00:51:41 Are You Still Down? Okay. Ian's mad. It's not great. I'm listening. I'm in the car and Dumi is on the radio and I keep forgetting backstage, Underage. They're happy about the girls being underage. Thrilled. Got to hold them accountable. I'm sorry. I mean, this is why R. Kelly got away with things for such a long time. Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:52:02 Do you know that every band? Do you know how many bands have a song about an underage girl and how much they like having sex with her or her being around? So many bands. BPD. I think the Rolling Stones had one. I think the Beatles had one about a young girl, about younger girls. I was talking about this with the great legend, Ed Gorton.
Starting point is 00:52:22 It's like, the shit is crazy. Anyway, but that's how you feel about Anthony Edwards. Well, he's of age. He is of age. Magic spanked him. When they made magic, Stephen A. Smith, when Stephen A. Smith made magic aware of what Anthony Edwards said regarding players from the 80s, this is what Magic had to say. Anthony Edwards just said the other day that there really wasn't any skilled players in the NBA. back in the day outside of Michael Jordan.
Starting point is 00:52:57 That's what he said. Your response to that, Ervin' Magic Jones. You know, I don't never respond to a guy that's never won a championship. There's not nothing to really say. He didn't win a college championship. I don't know if he even won a high school championship.
Starting point is 00:53:19 That was appropriate. I love it, He needed to get, he needed to get his ass tap for that one. But why do they do this? You know, like, he's 23 years old. Do either, you should, I would think, being in the NBA, be aware of the legends that came before you. But to make such like a comment like that, whether it's researched or not, is just so young. It is young.
Starting point is 00:53:45 First of all, it's wrong, right? Yeah, it's absolutely wrong. You don't have to know that much about it. basketball to know that. But I do think sometimes, though, that the young guys get sick of the older guys. Saying how easy it is. Talking about how cake the game is, how the game is changed. Because if you listen to some of the older dudes when they're talking about the game,
Starting point is 00:54:15 they don't like this brand of basketball. This brand of basketball is too soft. All they do is shoot threes. all they did it's just a whole drive and kick league all it is and so when they go back and they watch the game from the 80s or the 90s well what they see is they don't see guys that can do some of the things that a step curry can do
Starting point is 00:54:36 they don't see bigs that can stretch the floor and shoot it like some of the other guys they don't see that stuff and so they think the game is not different but less skill just like the older guys think that the game is softer and not just played at a faster pace
Starting point is 00:54:53 or stretched out a little bit they don't see those changes and so they make those situations but I love it when you know the legends stand up and say stuff like this take his fucking space back from it
Starting point is 00:55:04 I'm glad he responded and not to say Anthony Edwards has a long career in this league and is going to go on to do great things but like you just got to chill out
Starting point is 00:55:16 yeah you got to get to the basket consistently that's okay Yeah, the one thing I will say about Aunt is, Aunt, I love the energy. I love everything. But Ann is running through a streak of talking a lot of shit and not backing it up. Okay? There's no respect.
Starting point is 00:55:39 There's no respect here. But Aunt got to back his shit talk up now. I love the shit talk. I love the attitude. But Ann is running through a streak of talking some shit and not backing it up in the Western Conference Finals, and was so absolutely confident that they were going to be able to get by Dallas and the whole thing. And they figured him out and they neutralized him and they did the whole thing. Then he goes into the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:56:10 I'm the number one option. The whole deal, I like the confidence. I love the confidence. But he hasn't taken control of the league enough at this point. for him to be talking to cash money shit like he's talking it. He got to do a little bit more. A little bit more. Everybody keeps waiting for him to take the step to be the guy.
Starting point is 00:56:31 He got to take the step now. Well, they'll be watching this season. He is funny, though. He is funny. Love it. Love him. Love him. But, I mean, you know, you got to back your shit talk up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:56:44 He's talking about he's the number one option on the Olympics. And they stopped fucking playing him. Like, they stop playing him. Every highlight I see he's coming, he's cheering from the bench. Yeah, they stop fucking playing them. It ended up being the same type of guy. Oh, before we move on from sports, it's week zero last week, Florida State, Georgia Tech, big, are you, look,
Starting point is 00:57:05 there's a lot of sports stuff happening. Are you, have you dialed into football yet? I'm stepping into it, right? This week, Texas has, does Texas have the first game to say? No, I'm not sure. Anyways, I'm stepping into, into it. Tapping in. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:20 NFL is about to start. Yeah, Trey Lance. Well. You like him. Yeah. I mean, the last preseason game. Fucking sucked. You threw five picks in the preseason.
Starting point is 00:57:30 But prior to that, he was doing better. So, you know, we'll see. Boy, I can't wait until the Cowboys fell. I think I said it on this podcast. If not, I will say it now. I'm not talking about the Cowboys. That's my rule this year. I'm not doing it.
Starting point is 00:57:46 I'm not going to talk. I can't take it. I got enough going on. I cannot. defend the Cowboys. I need them to hurry up and finish this contract. It's done, Rachel. What? It happened while y'all were recording four years, 136 million, second highest average per year,
Starting point is 00:58:02 just a million under. Who's the highest? That CD. Oh, rightfully saw. C.D. Lam's contract is done? Yeah. Give me the numbers. Give me the numbers one more time, please.
Starting point is 00:58:11 Thank you so much, man. I believe I saw four for 136, second highest in average per year, a million under Justin Jefferson, but it's done. A million under Justin Jefferson. So who are the top five? Look up for me real quick. Who are the top five highest paid Y receivers in the league? It'll probably be it's Justin Jefferson
Starting point is 00:58:28 and then C.D. Lamb and then probably Tyree Kiel. And then Jamar Chase. Justin Jefferson at 35. Two is CD at 34. AJ Brown at 3 with 32. Amunerat 4 with 30 and Tyree get 5 with 30. Tyree Kill got to get paid. Tyree Kew.
Starting point is 00:58:46 I mean, I know he signed his contract a little bit before those guys. But Tyree Kill, if I'm Tyree Kew, if I'm Tyree Kee, Hill, another nigger, and so reckless with the nutton. I didn't know, old boy from Detroit was getting paid that. Tyree Kill will not stop nothing. He won't stop coming. He's coming everywhere. But here's the kicker with him.
Starting point is 00:59:01 He's got Miami covered and come. He's actually married. Yeah. Or engaged. Yeah, he's got Miami covered in nut. Like, if you walk in Miami, you might step in and slip in Tyreek Hills. The women are falling down in Miami,
Starting point is 00:59:15 getting up, getting the goo off of them, and then they become pregnant. They have the babies right there on a spot. Some women, this is something we didn't talk about. Some women just want to have a child. It's not even, not even, no, I'm not defending women. I'm actually blaming. I'm actually saying this is the women just might just want a kid.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Accountability. Okay, because then. You say I don't talk about the one. I'm just saying. Countability. Okay, so CD Lamb, so you're happy now. He's got his contract. I am happy.
Starting point is 00:59:45 But I'm not, thank you for that. That's all I'm going to say about Dallas. Okay. I'm excited to football. back. I do love to watch my football. I'm excited for Longhorn stepping into the SEC. I'll pay attention to that more than I normally have. Sad LSU and Texas aren't playing this year, but... I think next year we'll get it going. No, no, no, next year. Are you still going to LSU game this weekend?
Starting point is 01:00:05 I'm not. I'm not going to the LSU game. I'm going to stick my ass at home for a little while. I'm not going to make it out to the game. I'm going to the game. I'm not going to the game because it's on Sunday. Oh, it is on the first. And so... Oh, you're coming over to the house. We're playing, we have a game night. I'm not going. You're already on the list. I'm not going to the game night. Do you even know what game we're playing?
Starting point is 01:00:26 It doesn't matter. Some kind of mafia game I heard. Is we playing mafia? I don't, I'm not, you're coming. I'm not sitting in nights tonight. I'm not coming. You, I'm never coming over again. The TMZ thing has ended it.
Starting point is 01:00:37 Oh, you got to get over there. I'm not, I don't, because if we go over there and it's like, oh, sources say that the game night went great. This could be somebody else. Nobody's going to say that. He doesn't live there anymore. No. Come on.
Starting point is 01:00:48 I never know. Plus, what if. What if Brian shows up unannounced the game night, drunk? He would never do that. Oh, fine. That is my house. Oh, shit. Hey, I'm fucking doctor out.
Starting point is 01:01:03 No, he would never do that. Hey, Brian, you got to leave, bro. You got to leave? Hey, fuck you, fat boy. You want a piece of me? When I was doing the grape thing, this again, people were like, why are you here? Are you selling grapes? I was like, absolutely, I had to pick up a second job.
Starting point is 01:01:15 That's funny as fuck. I was like, I had to pick up a, due to the divorce, I had to pick up a second job. That's funny. I legit was telling people that. And they would be like, really be like, yep. All right. So now we're going into some of the worst people.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Wait. Wait, did we count football? Predictions? You want to predict your Super Bowl predictions? I can't do my playoff because I got to think about, I mean, national championship, because I got to think about that now that the system, we got a new system. 12-te playoff this year, which I am thrilled about.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Who do you think is going to the Super Bowl? What's your Super Bowl predictions? You know, I don't really know. I got to think about it. People have been asking me this before. I got to think about it. Let's wait until we have a first game. First game.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Or we'll wait until like right before the season to do our predictions. I got to think about it. Why don't you play fantasy? I don't like it. How about this? Bill Simmons is in my fantasy league. Just popped up in there. Is that true?
Starting point is 01:02:17 I'm, yes, it's true. It's the guillotine league. and they were like, welcome Bill Simmons. And I was like, who invited Bill? That's what I wrote in the group chat. Oh, you don't want Bill in the fancy league. No, I don't care. But I was just like, oh, that's so random.
Starting point is 01:02:30 He didn't even know I was in the league. I'm the only woman in the league. Who else is in it? They just put out the list because it changed. John Legend, Maverick Carter. I don't want to know. I don't want to know. Why not?
Starting point is 01:02:42 You jealous? No, it's not about being jealous. It's just about, that's not a real, that's some Hollywood bullshit. No, it's not. I think you told me about this league before. Yes, I have. Brian Tita, Darius Rucker, David Spade. What the fuck?
Starting point is 01:02:58 Wow. Matthew Barry. Okay. Bill Simmons now. We have talked about this because Matthew Barry doesn't win that league. He doesn't want it. How fucking embarrassing. Okay, he's in like 25 leagues.
Starting point is 01:03:11 I don't give a fuck. He's not going to win every single league. No, nigger. Fuck that. If you Matthew Barry and you're in the league with John Legend, shout out to John. John's a big football fan. If you're in the league,
Starting point is 01:03:20 with John Legend and Darius Rucker Who are both big fans? I know. You got to win the fantasy league. Like to me, I can never be, if you're Matthew Berry and your whole fucking life is made
Starting point is 01:03:33 on teaching people what they should be doing in fantasy and you can't beat Hootie and the Bullfish in a fucking fantasy league. Okay, but Darius can just focus on two, three teams. Like this year I'm going to do three leagues. That's all, and that is a lot for me.
Starting point is 01:03:47 Imagine doing this many. Yeah, I don't get in the league. then. But my thing is... Well, he manages it. He's got to win the league if he's in the league. He's got to win the league. He's got to win the league.
Starting point is 01:03:58 So basically what you're saying is you have lost respect for Matthew Berry because he does not win every league. Who won the league last year? Who won the league last year? Who was Brian? Brian, who? Tita, EP for executive producer for the Vio. Okay, I don't know who that nigga is.
Starting point is 01:04:13 But like it, it, it, it, he listens to the show. Brian Tita being the winning the league. Shout out to Brian. If I was Brian, I would be sending Matthew Barry emails. Like, yo, you a bitch. Like, I'll run you. Every time Matthew Barry's picks came out, if I was Brian Tita. I so want to call Matthew Ryan.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Every time his picks came out, I would be sending him like, ah, this is not what happened. Nigel, I picked up motherfucking with this nigga off waiver wire and fucked you up. Nah, you can't lose the lead. It's fine, whatever. You don't hold people accountable. Starting point is 01:05:46 Is it Danny Lee or Danny Leigh? Who cares? She's one of the worst people in the world. We're not going to play this entire video and we're not going to spend a whole bunch of time on this, but her DUI video from the hit-and-run arrest in May 2023 has been a release. Everybody talked about this when this happened.
Starting point is 01:06:04 She hit a 17-year-old who was mopeding in Miami Beach. She's drunk. and they were injured, by the way. Didn't they have like a lacerated liver? Lacerated liver and a fractured spine. Like, lucky, lucky to be alive. But how is she not, like, criminalized?
Starting point is 01:06:30 You tell me. I don't know. I don't know what she was charged with. I don't know if there's a case pending. I mean, she's obviously out. This video was discussing. It shows her she's fucking. drunk. She's talking to the cops. The cops are trying to impart upon her the seriousness of what
Starting point is 01:06:50 she did, but she doesn't fucking care in the video. She don't get it. She doesn't actually, actually play a little bit of it. The cops are trying to tell her you hit somebody. She won't believe that she hit someone. And then later on, she talks about the fact that, like, I'm a singer. Cuevo shows up. It's my boy. Quavo. She's excited. She's like, yeah, that's my boy. That's my friend. Like whatever. As if they had stopped her for autographs. Yeah. So actually,
Starting point is 01:07:17 let's kill somebody. A couple of different parts of it. Love, I'm an artist. I know. Okay. I'm a singer. No, I'm a living in it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:27 I'm an R&B singer. Okay. Doesn't mean anything. It's somebody on a scooter and you left. Yes, you did. Why? Okay, so why is there damage on your hood and your front bumper? There's no damage on my belt.
Starting point is 01:07:40 There's not. What the fuck? This is, this is one of the, I worked at TEMD for a long time. Everybody knows this. This is one of the most discussing displays I've seen. This is one of the most discussing of all the things you've seen. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:07:52 I've seen a lot of discussing displays. I've seen this is one of the most discussing displays that I've seen. Yeah, the entitlement. The, I mean, she's drunk, not excusing how, you know, flippant she is. She is drunk. That's part of it. But just, and I don't know, and maybe you do, if she's taking accountability for this in any way,
Starting point is 01:08:12 if she's done, not that she could fix what she did, but now that this video is out, it's like I've been disgusted with her since the Yellowbone shit's song that she had. Like, I just, it just speaks to, not celebrity, but just how some people see themselves
Starting point is 01:08:30 in this world and think that they are above the law in every single way. And here is a clear example of it right here. And, I mean, to my knowledge, she's walking on the streets, Like, it never happened. Meanwhile, somebody suffered a spinal injury and a lacerated liver. I need to know if she was charged with something.
Starting point is 01:08:54 She was obviously charged for DUI. But I mean, like, somebody got hurt. There's bodily injury here. There's got to be something else here. She was charged for DUI. She was in jail. This was last year Memorial Day in Miami Beach. I'm looking for.
Starting point is 01:09:12 an apology. I'm not saying she didn't apologize. I'm saying I'm not seeing an apology right there. Here's the mug shot. She smelling of alcohol. She failed a breathalizer. She blew 0.145 and 0.148, twice the legal
Starting point is 01:09:30 limit. She was cuffed and taking back to jail when she was booked on three felony charges, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with bodily injury, and DUI damaged to property. TRIA local hospital, blah, blah. It doesn't seem that there's been an apology for this. I don't know that maybe she did on her social media or something like that.
Starting point is 01:09:48 It's hard to find because I do see her apology for Yellowbone. That's everywhere. The yellow bone apology is everywhere. Look, I'll come down to, you know, hard on people. The video that came out was pretty fucking disgusting to watch, man. I know she was drunk, but the video that came out was pretty fucking disgust in the watch. And it seems as if this would be something that Danny Lee, Danny Lay, Lee, whatever, that she will want to take responsibility for, distance herself from, and
Starting point is 01:10:17 reassure people that she's not that type of flippant individual that doesn't take somebody else's safety, her own safety. She could have been killed. That she takes this seriously, but I'm not really seeing that from her. She pled no contest to two of the charges. She got probation for five years. Okay. Well, now the video's out.
Starting point is 01:10:39 She's probably going to have to revisit it a little bit. Probably going to have to say something. I don't know she limited the comments on her thing, but she looks fucking crazy. Yeah. Cuevo said, I got to get out of here.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Yeah, he was there for five seconds. Quavel's, I'm out. Cuevo was there. He's like, oh, it's dead.
Starting point is 01:10:54 All the police here. Bye. Being-bing-bang. Her attorney said that the accident was primarily the victim's fault. And he expressed that Danny Lee's
Starting point is 01:11:06 regrets the situation. and he expressed her regret and apology for the situation. But emphasized that she is not the one chiefly responsible for the accident. You're driving drunk. Yeah, that's what her attorney said. Yeah, well, she's in the trash bin so she clears it up. Not as a human, but as a personality. You can't put humans in a trash bin.
Starting point is 01:11:32 Can a human be trash? I feel like there are people that are hot garbage. You think it's weird for me to call a human being trash. Can a human be trash? I mean, you can do trash things. You can have a trash persona. But if we're all created by God, which I believe us to be, can a person be trash? Yeah, Harvey.
Starting point is 01:11:56 Harvey. Harvey, who? Harvey Weinstein. Trash person, should say. I don't know. I mean, Hitler. Trash. Trash. Trash. I mean, I guess it's hard for me. It's hard for me to just say somebody's...
Starting point is 01:12:15 Yeah, I know. It's not. It's hard for me to just say somebody's trash. But I don't think anyone disagree with the names that I've... But this was a, she was trash in this situation for sure. I'm not going to say she's a trash person, but in this situation. I want to get... I want to break this out. I want to ask people, can a human being actually be trash. And please provide examples. If so, provide examples. Oh, speaking of this, I want to do something new.
Starting point is 01:12:43 I want to do a list. Okay. The Van Ley 10 is the list. All right. A countdown of different lists every single week. And I'm going to do the first one, the inaugural one, it's on our next episode. I'm going to do top 10 black beauties of the 90s. Do I get to participate? It's my list. Okay. Okay. You get to judge the list.
Starting point is 01:13:13 Okay, I get to judge it. Thank God. Okay. You get to judge it. There's something I can do here. Okay, first of all, you weren't even around in the 90s like that. You don't know. I grew up in the 90s.
Starting point is 01:13:23 Yeah. Who is Big Les? I'm unfamiliar with Big Les. Oh, you don't know who Big Les is. Who's Big Les? Okay, well, she's going to be on the list. All right? Big Les is going to be on the list.
Starting point is 01:13:40 You ever watch Caribbean rhythms? No. Okay. See, there's an age difference. All right. Okay, but also a cartoon popped up when I put a big lens. You type in Big Les, you might get something else. But top ten, because I saw this picture, and the picture was of Claudia Jordan.
Starting point is 01:14:02 I think we talked about it. Carly Red. And there was somebody else in the picture. And they were... We didn't talk about it, but I know what you're... talking about. Beautiful women of the 90s. I'm going to do top 10 black beauties of the 90s. Yeah. Yeah, I like this. And then I'm going to do... Especially because like 90s are coming back. 90s beauty is a thing. Like people are starting to say, oh, she's like got that 90s beauty. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:28 Classic beauty. All right, the 90s. Let's talk about Jermaine Dupre real quick. Now look, there's a bigger question here that I want to ask you. Okay. Is the infighting and the calling out that's going on inside of the black community over politics a good thing? Yes. You think it's a good thing? I do. Okay. So this happened to Jermaine Dupre.
Starting point is 01:14:54 Jermaine Dupre, he says that he asked Kamala Harris about her leadership and how it would differ from Biden's, and he asked her a question and this was her response. Play the audio from J.D. Real quick, I wanted to talk about the DNC. I feel like the DNC has been going amazing. But I also feel like tonight, Kamala Harris has a pretty difficult job, right? And it's interesting because the Republican correspondent that's been doing the roundup after the DNC has ended, he asked the question that I kind of asked Kamala. when we had our second meeting, you know, if, you know, the fact that she's already, she's in
Starting point is 01:15:45 office right now, she's in the White House right now. And the guy, he said, um, what makes y'all believe that she's going to get this stuff done if she becomes president? And she's already in the house. And it's a, it's a, it's a tricky question. Because, I asked Kamala basically the same thing, right, in so many words. And I asked her, like, as the vice president, why they don't let her talk when, you know, Biden seems like he needs or he needed someone to speak up for him. I thought that's what the role of the vice president was, was to help the president. Um, and basically she kind of let me know that her hands was tied that, that they didn't really allow her to be a voice like that in that space.
Starting point is 01:16:55 And tonight, I don't know if she's going to, you know, I want, I want to see how she, if she even touches on this, because if she doesn't touch on it, that's the question that I feel like the people that are, that have mixed decisions about voting. for her. This is one of the questions. This is the top question that they had. They kicked Jermaine's ass for that. They bust Jermaine's ass for that. They kicked his fucking ass.
Starting point is 01:17:24 Well, they should. And one, because it seems like he doesn't understand what the role of the president. I mean, the vice president is. So that's one. They should call him out for that. And two, I, to your original thing, I think it's important to do this
Starting point is 01:17:41 because, you know, he's since come out and talked about how he's not a Republican. And he doesn't support, like he said, he said, I'm not a Republican. He talked to Roland. Roland got him on Instagram Live. Yeah. So the reason I say it's necessary to call it out because it doesn't leave any room for confusion. And when you have somebody who's a big presence like this in the community, they might say, well, Jermaine Dupre said this and we'll just blindly believe them. So it's important to call people out or to seek understanding or to ask them to further explain themselves. So there doesn't leave any room for confusion and that hopefully we can all be smarter and better for it.
Starting point is 01:18:18 So to me, when I listen to that, it's obvious that J.D. kind of doesn't know how things go, right? Okay, well, but look, though, there are two ways to look at it. One way is why are you speaking on something if you don't know how it goes, right? But there's another way to look at it. And that is, is that Jermain Dupre had a conversation with the vice president. And what he came away with from that conversation was that there were certain things that she couldn't do because her hands were tied. Sure.
Starting point is 01:18:57 This was a good example to me of how messaging gets lost if people don't understand the how government works. Like if you say your hands are tied And then he goes, oh, my God, well, they're telling her she can't do this or she doesn't have the ability or the capability to do this. I thought that the vice president was supposed to back up the president and speak for the president, which is there's never been a vice president in the history of America that's done that, right? The most powerful vice president we think we've probably ever had is Cheney. Yes. And, you know, even Cheney wasn't the tip of the spear when you're talking about all of those things.
Starting point is 01:19:42 I wouldn't say the most powerful vice president we've ever had. I'd say, because I can't really speak to that. Influential. The most powerful vice president that I can remember really paying attention to it was Cheney. I do think that, obviously J.D. doesn't know how things go, but I did see some people
Starting point is 01:19:59 in calling this out that were high-horsing him. And that were, it's one thing to have conversations about things that people say is another thing to let political discussions turn into high school lunch tables where we're mean-boying and mean-girling people and whipping them into submission.
Starting point is 01:20:28 The reality is this. If Jermaine Dupre doesn't know how American government works, then he's not the exception when it comes to America. he's the rule. And if we want to have a conversation about what it is that we know and what it is that we don't know and if this conversation is happening
Starting point is 01:20:47 intercommunally, I think we need to have that conversation with a sense of community. I agree. With a sense of, hey brother, let me talk to you about this. But the endless dunking on each other, the endless dunking on each other
Starting point is 01:21:06 for what we don't know when we know, that there are things that we are purposefully kept from and we're purposefully kept in the dark, to me, all that does is it drums up bad blood. And I'm seeing this everywhere. I'm seeing more infighting right now amongst black people because the stakes are so high in this election
Starting point is 01:21:26 than ever. I'm seeing a lot of people. I see, I saw, you know, I see like, Vett Nicole Brown and Amanda Seals were going back and forth about things. I've seen you know, Yvette, because Yvette stand on her shit. I saw Yvette and Mark Lamar Hill going back and forth. I see everyone,
Starting point is 01:21:49 there's a lot of fighting that's going on inside of the black community surrounding this election. And the fighting to me is not as substantive as the talking. I listened to a whole fucking three-hour Twitter space
Starting point is 01:22:04 last night. A whole thing. Three-hour Twitter space. And it was Luther Campbell, who was talking about or talking to Tariq Nishid, about the whole FBI, Ado's thing, he's being called a tether. Luke is Jamaican, which I didn't know that. I didn't know that either. I did not know that. I did not know that.
Starting point is 01:22:24 So I'm just looking at all the infighting that the political climate is, right now, it's causing amongst black people. And I don't think that it's helpful. I think we need to have a better, if we're going to insult each other into our different political tense. I don't think that's the right way. I think we need to be better about how we discuss these things.
Starting point is 01:22:43 What do you think? Sorry, I was looking up, Uncle Luke, Bohemian ancestry. His father was of Jamaican ancestry. Bahamian and Jamaican. And so he's talking about politics and Tarek Nishid, FBI leader, says that he's a tether.
Starting point is 01:22:59 And that pissed Luke the fuck off. Luke was going nuts last night on Twitter spaces saying, look, if I'm a tether, Then Lewis Farrakhan is a tether because Lewis Farrakhan has people in the islands. Malcolm X has people in the islands. They're talking about all of these other people that have people from the islands. It's a strong word.
Starting point is 01:23:18 So he said, if I'm a tether, Luke was mad. Tether is funny. See, here's a thing. So here's the thing that really sucks about some of the Ato's FBI stuff. Is that the insoles that hues are hilarious. You know, is the sum of the shit divisive? Absolutely. Tether is funny.
Starting point is 01:23:43 Tether is funny. Here on higher learning, we're going to laugh. We're going to laugh, man. Call somebody a tether. That's hilarious. The butter biscuits thing is the fucking funniest fucking thing, man. It's the funniest thing. But what are your thoughts, though?
Starting point is 01:23:59 I'm sorry to be hyper-reverse. No, no, no, no. You're fine. I, well, listen, I think there's another way to look at it, too. Jermaine Dupre's intentions, I think, were good. He is curious, maybe more than curious, but he is, he wanted to be informed, he wanted to understand. He had a conversation once, maybe twice, I think, with Kamala Harris and asked questions, which is what we should do. He walked away with an understanding that isn't necessarily, it was his understanding, but it was not the right understanding.
Starting point is 01:24:32 But his intentions were good. And I think that that's something too. And then when he expressed what he thought it was to his audience, then I think there is, that's a place where you call them, we'll say call them in instead of call them out. Hey, you're wrong about this. This is why. And then to add to his intentions being good,
Starting point is 01:24:53 he then goes on, he could have fought back. He could have condemned everybody. But instead, he got on an Instagram live with Roland Martin and had a conversation with it. for not just himself to address the people in the same space that were coming after him. To me, that's how it should be done. So I also want to acknowledge that within everything else. Like, yes, he was wrong.
Starting point is 01:25:18 Yes, he doesn't have an understanding fully of government. I don't either. But at the same time, he tried to rectify that, I feel like, in the right way with the right people. And this could have easily gone wrong. Yeah. I understand and appreciate the viewpoint that you have such a big platform that before you start speaking on things, you need to know what you're talking about. I'm not saying I don't appreciate that. I really do appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:25:46 But I do think that we need to have more discussions, more conversations, and less arguments. Obviously, I'm super argumentative and people are going to be like, why, Van, how can you say it? But I think that we need to have, especially if we want better. If we want to feel superior to people who don't know or if we want to put everybody in different categories, that's one thing. but if we want better and we want free-flowing information, then this is crazy. I know people don't feel this way. But if you want people to get smarter,
Starting point is 01:26:14 one thing that you have to do is give them the freedom to be wrong. Okay? You don't get the freedom to be unrepentantly wrong or to be wrong in perpetuity. But getting smarter about something, you have to have the freedom to be wrong about it, right? and then the freedom to be wrong, you go into a conversation,
Starting point is 01:26:36 you learn better, you do better, that's important. But I'm seeing this a lot. I'm telling you guys, I know that the election is high leverage. I know that everyone is on edge. Things are so close. Most people didn't think that we had a chance
Starting point is 01:26:48 with Biden, with Kamala. People think that we have a chance and everyone is a little bit on edge, right? But we can't let that spark a million different fires, right? The eroding of, at least on Twitter, the relationship between the solidarity between black Americans and the Palestinian freedom movement, right?
Starting point is 01:27:15 The eroding between the black left and the black center. Guys got to talk because everybody has different roles and different games to play. The activists, the leftist has to work with the moderate, has to work with the conservative has to work with all of these people because we have a lot of different goals.
Starting point is 01:27:34 Sure. Maybe not the conservatives, but maybe they're too far going. But, whatever, I don't mind talking with conservatives as long as they're not cultists. But I also don't like democratic cultists either.
Starting point is 01:27:45 No, you don't like extremists on either side. Is that fair to say? I think it's fair to say. All right, before we get out of here an apology rating, this is something I didn't know about until I went and looked at this AMA.
Starting point is 01:27:58 Okay, before the apology, if that's what you went in on, you have to at least acknowledge that Drake might be back. Oh, you want to talk about that? I don't really want to talk about it. I just want to note. I've never seen this. I'm sorry, hold on. All right, so Drake was on IG and had a very cryptic post
Starting point is 01:28:16 that said win game two. So people are saying that he's suggesting that he's going to come back and win game two. He shared an iconic interview from 2004. of Rashid Wallace saying, y'all put it out on, y'all put it on the front page, back page, middle page. We will win game two. And then he also shared a picture from the 1986 film A Better Tomorrow. You saw this?
Starting point is 01:28:42 What do you think? He's a friend of mine in a group text said this, and it's true. We've seen it before. When ether dropped and Jay wasn't expecting it, because no. Nobody was. Everybody talks about what Ether was. Nobody was expecting us to come back like that. That's like, you ever, remember Miss Society?
Starting point is 01:29:10 Yes, I do. When, you know, Kane was talking about how he got killed. And he goes, I wasn't expecting him to come back like that. Blasting. What the fuck you think? You beat the nigga. But, so I don't think Jay was expecting that. And I don't think Drake was expecting not like us.
Starting point is 01:29:32 So what you saw in both of these cases and some other cases too is people not being able to accept what's happening to them. It played out for a long time with Jay with Jay just couldn't deal with the fact that this happened, right? But he never topped either.
Starting point is 01:29:48 He never really did. Exactly. He, I mean, people have tried to rewrite history now, but... He didn't. Nas won. Nas won if just because people didn't think that Nas could win Nas won.
Starting point is 01:30:01 Whatever, get back into this. But Drake, Drake's is not handling it well. That's it. I mean, Drake's not handling it well. Well, it's, I saw somebody say this, and it's so true. It's not a game two. The series is already done.
Starting point is 01:30:12 We literally have done a whole series on this. It would be different if only not like us came out. Yeah. But we've played this. We have never seen, well, I've have seen some. I'm exaggerating, but this is an example of somebody just not being able to read the room. Nobody's telling you you can't make music anymore. I'm sure people are waiting on your name.
Starting point is 01:30:32 next song, your next album, and he's putting some stuff out there. He puts himself out. He puts himself out there a little bit. But like, I don't need this to come back. Just let it go. You got to let it go. I think people will respect you more if you just move on and do what you do best. There is nothing that he can do.
Starting point is 01:30:53 Nothing. To erase Not Like Us. Yeah. I don't want to hear a rumor. I don't want to hear anything about. Not like us has vaulted to the top. of the most effective disc songs ever. There's nothing he can do to erase it.
Starting point is 01:31:07 There's no victory that he could have that would be significant enough to change what the song did. It was a cultural phenomenon that was enjoyed at Drake's expense. I was just watching the HBCU kickoff was this last weekend.
Starting point is 01:31:24 I think it was FAMU. I can't remember who FAM was playing. But FAM came out at halftime and they played not like us. And then in the Battle of the bands, the bands are playing it. The song is going to get another leg this fucking fall in the HBCU scene. It's like, I'm tired of not like us.
Starting point is 01:31:44 I really am tired of it, right? I'm sick of the record. I'm sick of the record. But there's nothing else to win. It's over. If he wants to kick it back off, kick it back off. But here's the thing. If you don't do something better and you won't, then like you'll just keep being a joke.
Starting point is 01:32:00 In regards to that. In regards to that. Like, again, I think Drake should make music and do what he does, and he will continue to have success in that. But if you keep trying to outdo that, it is my belief, stranger things have happened, you will continue to fail. And people will always laugh at you in regards to that. Drake just got to get back to being Drake, man.
Starting point is 01:32:23 Exactly. Do what you do. Drake got to get back to being Drake. Making me with my hands. Continue to make the hits. make the hits, make the music that Drake has been making, maybe go a little bit harder, maybe try something new. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:32:39 We don't need him to go harder. Maybe he does. Don't do any more concerts with Bulletproof Sons. Maybe he did, no, I don't mean go harder until, like, be harder. I mean, just go harder at the music. Maybe give us something that we ever heard in a while. Give us something a little bit new. Switch it up a little bit.
Starting point is 01:32:54 But just be Drake. He does love to do that. It's not an accident that Drake has been on top of rap. for 10 years. He knows how to make a song and knows how to get people going. It's not an accident that Drake has been there.
Starting point is 01:33:06 So Drake is still Drake. Just stay in the lane. Drake is going to be fine, but he probably should leave this alone. Like, this probably needs to be left alone. And if you end Drake's crew, man,
Starting point is 01:33:20 if you his, man, y'all still got Turks and y'all, y'all, it's Drake. It's fucking Drake. We're acting like it's not Drake. It's Drake. It's Drake. It's Aubrey, Drake Graham.
Starting point is 01:33:31 It is the big, rapper of his generation. He got taken down the pig. It happens to everyone. It's time to move on though. Like going back to the well ain't going to do nothing. A better tomorrow would not include what something that addresses this.
Starting point is 01:33:44 Right. Just stay in your lane. So real quick, Rhonda Rousey did an AMA or Reddit AMA. I know a little bit about having a Reddit AMA go left. But she did this, she did this Reddit AMA
Starting point is 01:34:00 and I saw somebody on Twitter put that Ronda Rousey did a Reddit AMA and it completely went left. I'm like, how could Ronda Rousey's AMA go left? And when I went there, every single question was about Sandy Hook. Yeah. So I don't remember this.
Starting point is 01:34:21 I don't either. Apparently, Ronda Rousey 11 years ago amplified a Sandy Hook conspiracy theory video suggesting that people look at it on her Twitter. So when she did this AMA, every question
Starting point is 01:34:40 ended in Sandy Hook. One guy posted something on Reddit and said, hey, Rhonda, is anything that you're doing right now going to involve you acting like you're the granddaughter of a very famous pirate
Starting point is 01:34:59 it. And I'm like, where is this going? And it was like, if you did it, the name of the book could be called Sandy Hook. And I'm like, I'm like, what? Everybody is doing different because they'd started. They'd started like, hey, Ron, I've been watching you for a long time. And I just wanted to ask you a question, what do you think the toughest part of training for judo is? Is it learning to hold or is it tweeting about the death of, of children. That's what the whole thing was. They fucked over to AMA. So Ronda Rousey, who had apparently never apologized for this? Wild. So you already know what my rating is. We got to open this link up. I'm going to read the
Starting point is 01:35:44 apology. She had never apologized for this. But she went to. I'm going to do it for Rachel right now. Rachel was apology reading. I can't say how many times I've redrafted this apology over the last 11 years. How many times I've convinced myself that it wasn't the right time or that I'd be causing even more damage by giving it.
Starting point is 01:36:01 But 11 years ago, I made the single most regrettable decision of my life. I watched the Sandy Hook conspiracy video and reposted it on Twitter. I didn't even believe it, but I was so horrified at the truth that I was grasping for an alternative fiction to cling to instead. I quickly realized my mistake and took it down, but the damage was done. By some miracle, it was seemingly slipped under the media's radar. It's never asked about it, so I never spoke about it again. Afraid that calling attention to it would have the opposite of the intended effect.
Starting point is 01:36:28 It would increase the views of those conspiracy videos and selfishly inform more people. I was ignorant, self-exorbed, and tone-deaf enough to share it in the first place. I drafted a thousandth apology to include in my last memoir, but my publisher begged me to take it out, saying that it would overshadow everything else and do more harm than good. So I convinced myself that apologizing would reopen the wound for no other reason than me selfishly trying to make myself feel better, that I would hurt those suffering even more and possibly lead more people down the black hole of conspiracy bullshit by being brought up again just so I could shake the label of
Starting point is 01:37:03 Sandy Hook truther. But honestly, I deserve to be hated, labeled, detested, resented, and worse for it. I deserve to lose out on every opportunity. I should have been canceled. I would have deserved it. I still do. I apologize that this came 11 years too late, but to those affected by the Sandy Hook massacre from the bottom of my heart and the depth of my soul, I'm so, so, so sorry for the hurt I've caused. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you've endured. The words cannot describe how thoroughly remorseful and ashamed I am of myself for having contributed to it. I've regret it every single day, my life since, and I will continue to regret it until the day I die. The last paragraph is about anybody else that is looking at conspiracy theories and things like that.
Starting point is 01:37:49 Rachel, apology rating. One. Sorry, and I'm being generous with the one. If she had not done an AMA, we would have never had. an apology. And she would have continued to hide under the radar as she quoted herself, as she said herself, slip under the media's radar and no one would have brought it up there. You didn't know about it. You're more in tune to this stuff than I am. I didn't know about it until I saw this on the internet. It was more important for her to protect her image than it was
Starting point is 01:38:25 for her to apologize for spreading, even though she put the video off, she took it down, but it was more important to slide under the radar and not bring attention to herself and possibly be canceled and attacked and, you know, called out for it. That was, her image was more important than those families that she impacted than the lives of those children and those teachers to everybody who has lost someone in a school shooting or a shooting or whatever it may be, her image was more important. She put herself over all of that. And so it's hard for me. Great, you're apologizing after 11 years, but also because you were finally called out about it. And then came the apology. Now, if she had done this AMA and she said, I'm going to start off
Starting point is 01:39:14 this AMA apologizing for something that has weighed on my conscience for 11 years, for something that should have been, but you didn't. You finally got held, your feet were held to the fire. And now you want to say, okay, because it's getting, it's gaining traction. You can't run away from it.
Starting point is 01:39:32 You can't hide it. You have to address it. So to me, it's hard for me to accept somebody's apology when they were forced to do it. She didn't do it on her own volition. She's at 11 years to do it, and she hasn't. So they're, well said.
Starting point is 01:39:48 I'll be brief. there are some things that a verbal apology is just not sufficient for. The death of children through gun violence and the massacre of those children through gun violence is something that Ronda Rousey should have used and still should use the full weight of her celebrity to combat. Ronda Rousey should have tried to make the situation, better because she stepped in it to that degree. When you take her celebrity and you weaponize it
Starting point is 01:40:29 to reinforce some of the most harmful lies, the most hurtful lies, then what you have to do is take your celebrity and use it against some of that stuff. So Ronda Rousey should have been leading an 11-year-long crusade against misinformation. Ronda Rousey should have been one of the largest and loudest voices against Alex Jones and people like that who pedaling is misinformation. information. And she missed that opportunity by staying silent about it. She still has that opportunity now. And hopefully she takes it. Once again, I don't believe in throwing people in
Starting point is 01:40:59 the trash bin. So hopefully she takes it. I think the apology was in what it means to apologize in the actual form of an apology. It was pretty thorough. But it's hollow if it's not followed up by any type of action. She excuses her behavior even more so after the 11 years. is to say, I tried to apologize, but my publisher told me that it would overshadow everything else and do good. Again, if it meant something to you, and I'm not saying she doesn't feel bad,
Starting point is 01:41:33 but if it deeply affected you, you would have done that. And instead, she literally blamed somebody else. I was going to do it. But my publisher said, it'll affect you. Basically, it'll impact your book sales. She's a white lady. So you put yourself,
Starting point is 01:41:49 Have you continued even in your apology to put yourself over the victims? I can't, I can't see it in the other way. I want somebody to go through the apology ratings that we've had and just get a basic average. Because I don't think that. I think I, you apologize and I gave it a high score. Yeah, but I don't, I don't, right. Whatever I said, I take it back. I meant what the fuck I said the first time.
Starting point is 01:42:17 All right, we got to go. Take 10 caps off. Do not stop learning. I'm Van Leasing Jr. I'm Rachel Lynn Lenton. Bye, guys.
