Yay, old thought warriors.
Howe learning is on.
It is I, Van Lathen, Jr.
And it's me, Rachel and Lindsay.
No pleasantries.
None.
Because this Sunday, President Biden,
the 81-year-old President of the United States of America
dropped out of the presidential race.
Endorsed Kamala Harris, his vice president,
to take over as the Democratic nominee president.
Now, seismic, seismic, seismic.
seismic decision.
Reverberated all throughout culture, political sphere.
Rachel, what were your thoughts?
Well, my first thought was,
Vanna's going to be filling himself
because he said that this was happening.
Everybody knew, though.
Can I be honest?
I really didn't think so.
Interesting.
Maybe I was just being naive,
maybe, I don't know, a little delusional,
but I think I thought,
I did think when he announced that he had COVID,
that that would have been a scapegoat for him,
him to bow out or hand it over or drop out. But I really believed because I believed him. He said
he didn't want to drop out. He wasn't going to. God himself would have to tell him not to or if there
had to been, his doctor would have had to tell him that there is some type of disease he has or
something like that for him to drop out. So I really believed that he was in it to win it. I felt he felt
he was confident enough.
The people around him were telling that.
And I just wasn't caught up in the noise of even some of the top Democrats coming out.
I didn't believe it.
So when Sunday hit and I got the text message, I actually thought it was from a fake Joe Biden account.
Fake Joe Biden.
And then I opened it up.
I saw it and then was glued in for the rest of Sunday.
I really wasn't expecting it, but it sounds like you were just, it was a matter of time for you.
So if that's the case, were you expecting it this soon?
They had said the weekend, the people that I had talked to, they had said the weekend.
What do you mean?
Inside.
Now, they had told me the weekend.
That's what they said.
I knew it was going to.
Look, that's all they're saying.
They had said the weekend, but what do they know?
The only person who really knew, President Biden, his family, and the people in his immediate circle.
So the people that were telling me are people that you expect to know this information.
but what do they know?
You never know.
So I wasn't sure, but all I could say is
I was being told
and a lot of other people that I know
were being told that this was going to happen.
I think it was being seated
to some of us
so that we would get a conversation started
about him leaving the race.
Well, it worked.
It's all we've been talking about,
especially this last week.
So, you know, as quickly as he pointed out
that, or not pointed out, but as quickly as he dropped out of the race, he endorsed Kamala Harris.
He said, while it's been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest
of my party in the country for me to stand down and focus entirely on fulfilling my duties
as president, the remainder of my term. Now, before we move on to some of the fallout from
this, I'm going to ask you a question that I asked McCarrey.
McCarrey was here last week. We talked to him, and I said if, in fact, Joe Biden does
decide not to continue on with this campaign,
does that mean to you that he should then resign?
Do you think he should resign?
So if he resigns,
that means that she will pick up the presidency until,
you know, either she's elected.
If she's elected.
If the vice president were to resign,
I don't know why it sounded weird to me.
I don't know why it sounded weird to me.
It just sounded weird.
If he resigned, she would become the president.
I got it. It just sounded weird.
No, I don't think he should resign.
He's got a few months left.
He's not saying that he can't carry it out.
He's saying that he's not going to continue.
And he's stepping down in what he believes is the best interest for the country, which I will say it's interesting how quickly the narrative changes from, you know, days before when he was still staying in the race and how critical people were.
And then they said, if he does decide to drop out, then they were, then that solidifies his legacy and all these things.
and now, you know, everyone's talking about him in such an endearing way and how selfless he is and how much he loves this country.
We really don't even exactly know the reason he hasn't said anything.
Hasn't said what?
Other than his letter.
I mean, we haven't heard from him, is what I'm saying.
Right, but what would you expect the reason he would have been dropped off for?
He might say that the doctor said something.
He might say COVID really took a, you know, a hit on him and he just doesn't feel like if something, if he gets sick, he can carry on.
Maybe he's just like, I'm tired, I'm exhausted.
Maybe it is that he was paying attention to the polling.
Maybe it is he was paying attention to the donors.
I'm curious as to what he will actually say.
We're still speculating.
And I'm sure our speculations are correct.
I'm sure it's a combination of everything.
But I'm still curious.
It's still a combination of it all.
But what I will say is, as people are talking about him in such an endearing way,
to me, I thought not just he's stepping aside for his love of the country,
it almost as if it's the passing of the torch of from the older generation to more of a younger generation of this is what we should be doing.
Whether it's I'm too old in a combination of things or it's just I'm just too old to keep it going, it shows something that we've complained about.
People won't get out of these powerful positions.
They wait so, you know, they're too sick, you know, they pass away.
And he's stepping down before that happens when we've seen.
other Democrats as of recent not do that.
So to me, it symbolized the passing of the torch as well,
which is what we should be doing.
Younger people, more vibrant people,
people that people can rally around and get excited about
should be stepping into these roles.
So they took the torch.
Sure.
Okay.
Which, yes.
They took the torch.
They have been burned by the torch before.
Okay.
RBG took the torch and burned them up.
You have other people
They had died while they're in office
You know, you have some older people out there
I even saw Rep Clyburn
On CNN
And he was talking about how he was 84
I love Rep Clyburn
Love him, hard not to love him
It's time to groom your replacement
I'd argue that Baccari Sellers
Should have been
The heir apparent there in South Carolina
For many, many years
And I personally think that
As much as we love,
these people, these stalwarts
of
political life that have been with us for decades
that they oftentimes, like you said, hold on the power for too long.
Don't give us the second generation.
Sure.
Don't give us the Ted Jameses and the Baccari settlers
and the Jasmine Crockett and all those people.
Sometimes we don't get those people when we need them.
I like Jasmine and the stuff that she's really.
Yeah, Eddie Bernice almost held that job office till she was a night.
She was a night peek.
I'm saying.
You know.
But this was a taking of the torch.
They took the torch from him.
And I think that the reason why people haven't done very much waiting on him to speak about, you know, why he's stepping aside is because it's pretty obvious.
You know, the donor class turned on him.
There was a lot of pressure for him to move on.
And I think at the end of the day, he did make a decision that was in the best interest of his country.
But he also made a decision that's probably at this point in the best.
interests of himself and his legacy as well.
Sure.
For what he had to.
Maybe he made it too late, but he made it with enough time for them to still mount some sort of a campaign with a new candidate.
Now, I'll ask you this.
If you don't want him to resign, what would you want him to do with the remaining months of his presidency?
Well, we act like he can't work.
He's saying he doesn't want to go on for another four years.
He's not saying that he can't finish out the rest of his presidency.
I think that he could be there mentoring.
You know, whoever is next, I think he can close things out.
I think he may, I don't know if there's something that he can finish in the time that he has left.
But why would we need him to resign over these next few months?
It's literally about to be, it's about to be turned over to somebody else.
I just don't, I personally just don't see the benefit of it.
I think him staying there, and I know you said took the torch, and I will agree with you,
but it'll look more of like a passing the torch should it be a Democrat that inherits the office
after Joe Biden.
I think that it looks good.
It just doesn't make sense for me to resign
unless somebody tells me
that there is some type of like cognitive issue
where he cannot continue.
Yeah.
So.
I don't think she needs that.
If she's the one who is chosen,
I don't think that she needs to step in
as the president to solidify votes
or people to rally around that.
I think it would be better for her to have
the competency of the presidency.
Like Baccarus said,
I think it would be better.
But I do.
think that if he's going to stay for these last months, then he needs to act like a lame duck
president and really, really, really, really push across some things that he's still trying to do.
And if there are things that he could really still be aggressive about, then it'll do nothing
but help her cause in those terms.
If there are some things he could still really be aggressive about, like, there are some things
he's not going to do, like, you know, we could talk about packing the court.
He's not going to pack the court in his last months in office.
He's not going to add three justice to the court.
That's not going to happen.
But knowing two things are true.
One is that the political gamesmanship that's being played from the other side
is happening in real time,
meaning that the president would have had a win on the border.
Obviously, we've talked about this before,
if not a direct director from Donald Trump to not have that happen.
So knowing that he's still dealing with that obstructionist view of politics from the right,
whatever he can do right now that looks good for the impending Kamala Harris campaign,
if that's in fact what happens.
I think he should really try to be super aggressive in every fight that he has for the last four months that he's there,
the last six months that he's there, five or five, six months, whatever it is,
and every ounce of energy that he has.
should be put into really setting up not just the next four years of a potential Democrat to be in the White House,
but the next 10 years of the strategy and the energy of the Democratic Party.
because at this point,
he's in a situation.
He's a very interesting situation.
We haven't seen the president in him for a long time.
So I like to see an aggressive, like, alive Biden administration,
like go get a couple of things done.
The things that they can get done.
Obviously, you know, there's some things they can.
And I think that the reason it's not also good for her to step in
is because it is the Biden administration.
And I want to see him see it through and that be the end of the Biden and the next person step in, hopefully a Democrat.
One of the one of the criticisms about Kamala Harris is that people didn't know where she stood, especially when she was running back in 2020, it was like, well, she seems to flip flop.
Like, what is she big on?
What does she stand for?
I think that to separate her really allows her the opportunity to say, this is what I want to run my campaign on.
This is what I believe rather than just sliding in.
under the Biden administration.
Do you know what I mean?
Well, it wouldn't be the Biden administration anymore.
It wouldn't, but it would.
I mean, if he resigns and she steps in,
it's still carrying out,
she's not going to have time to implement her policies,
her agenda, what she wants to do.
She's going to finish out the terms.
Only a few months left.
I'm saying.
But she steps in with the,
but she campaigns with the incumbency of the president now.
But do you see what a lot of criticism is,
is like, what does Kamala represent?
Who does she, what does she stand for?
What is she, you know, like,
what is her,
agenda. And I think that if he closes his out and she steps in, then you can see more of a

Van Jones had something to say.
He was very emotional.
Play a little bit of what Van Jones said on CNN when Biden dropped out of the race.
And it's kind of like when your grandpa, you got to take the keys.
And everybody, you got to take his keys, you got to take his keys.
And he's fighting and he's fighting and everybody's so frustrated.
And then you finally get the keys back.
And then you just cry.
Because this is somebody that you love.
This is somebody that you care about.
This is somebody who was there for.
This is somebody, you wouldn't be here without him.
And he had to take something from him.
Now, this is not, look, politics is politics.
But this is a human moment for one of the great,
humans in America. This is a huge moment for him, for his family, for all of us who love him,
for all of us who wanted him to get across the finish line. But if you're a young person watching
this, this is leadership. This is patriotism. This is what it means to put the country first and
put to party first and put the cost first. When your arm gets tired, you let somebody else
finish pitching the game. That's what Joe Biden has done, and he's done that for all of us.
And so I just want to say, I don't know who's going to be the VP, the non-VP.
I don't know anything about politics.
I just know that I love this man.
I care about this man.
It was painful every day to sit up here and talk about him like he's just some problem for the party.
Way too we get to the convention.
You're going to see people crying, standing, screaming, cheering.
He may not get a chance to talk for 10 minutes.
We finally get a chance to put our arm around this guy.
You did the right thing for this country.
You did the right thing for this party.
All of us are going to be in this situation someday.
and I hope that we take a moment to honor this man and to love this man.
I love Joe Biden.
I appreciate what he's done.
And a lot of people are heartbroken today.
Even if it's the right thing, it's still just horrible.
You know what?
There were people that were coming for Van on that.
I'm not coming for him.
I understood it.
Now, I'm not down for the crying over Joe Biden on, I just don't, you know, I get it.
Van's an emotional guy, though.
Clearly.
But I understood what he was talking about.
Like, the moment to where,
I remember me and my mom were in the car one time.
And it was her grandfather, my great-grandfather, Reverend Q.T. Ellis was driving.
That is a Reverend Q.T. Ellis, he was driving.
And we passed by, we drove by and went, hey, Reverend Ellis, how you doing, grandfather, whatever, whatever.
And he obviously didn't know who we were.
And my mom stopped the car, literally stopped the car, and then she got out when she saw a time to be able to get him off the side of the road,
stopped the car and went over to the thing and talked to him and was in the car window and stuff.
And when she came back, she had his keys.
And my mom was like, I don't think Red Nails nowhere yet.
you don't know what's going on.
And it's sad.
Like it's sad to know someone.
He had 10 churches all over it.
It's sad.
So coming to terms with Joe Biden's political mortality
for people who love Joe Biden
means that you have to come to terms with Joe Biden's actual mortality
and you have to look back on the history of him
as a politician as a statement.
Now, if you're asking Van Lathen and not Van Jones,
that's far from a spotless history, far from a spotless history,
not even close to it.
I can make a very viable argument and probably a really important argument
that there's some real damage done there.
But it's also a political history that over the last portion of it,
you see someone who is at least tried or attempted
to come to terms with his past, his past politics,
the changing landscape of America
and what he feels like
is good for people
in this particular current era.
Joe Biden is not, to me,
the clean example
of American political movement or thought.
There's some bad ideas in there.
There's some bad stances in there.
Some bad votes, some bad affiliations,
all of that stuff.
Some really abhorrent, terrible things said
over the course
of his career.
But there was also, you know,
an argument to be made
that when America needed Joe Biden
to stand up for
a force that was destabilizing
and existential threat, that he did that.
Yeah.
And continue to make more mistakes
when he was in office.
If you're asking me in terms
of the war in Gaza,
the genocide of the Palestinian people,
and all of those things.
Not, it's a mixed bag.
no matter how you look at it,
but you have to give them credit
for stopping four years of Donald Trump
and continuing to fight
against that vision and version of America.
Sure, sure.
I think also, I like you.
I laugh.
I was giggling a little bit
when we were playing the Van Jones clip.
I'm not one to criticize his emotion at all.
It just, I don't know why it just made me laugh.
But I do, I don't know, Joe Biden,
So I, you know, I don't have the same emotional connection.
But what I'll say is, if anything makes me sad, it is the way that it went down.
After the debate, like, it seems like he really tried to prove to people that he can still do it.
He's still got it.
And he was just being attacked from all angles, from people I'm sure who, you know, he's mentored, who he's respected.
and it just seemed everybody turned on him.
And if you really want me to be honest,
I think that he bowed out because he just felt defeated.
I don't think he had any more fight left in him,
whether it is because of the donors,
whether it is because he was getting pressure from past presidents
or, you know, top dim leaders,
it just is sad to me the way it went.
He had to go out.
You know, like you said, the torch was taken from him.
That, to me, is a, if we're looking at it,
him like a sad grandpa, then it's sad to me that like we had to put him, we had to put him out
to pasture. You almost have to put him down. It sounds, that's how it feels. That's sad to me.
Put him down. That's what it feels like. It reminds me of another Joe, Joe Frazier.
My dad used to talk about, because I said put him down is that what I would make to think of it.
It didn't put Joe Frazier down. My dad used to, used to talk about the three Frazier-A-Lefites and how,
Now, Ali literally, like, beat boxing out of Joe Frazier.
They had three fights.
Obviously, Joe Frazier lost to George Foreman.
But he didn't get off his stool, I think, in the third fight.
And the corner just went to Joe.
Joe just, he wanted to always beat Muhammad Ali in the ring.
He had gotten the victory over him in the first fight.
And so much of his career was measured against this one guy, this one dude.
And they just told him while he was on his stool.
They were like, it's over, Joe.
it's over.
But that's it.
Like, we don't want you to go out there and die
trying to beat this guy.
Yeah.
You had a great career.
Your offense.
It's over, Joe.
That's it.
And if you think about it, too,
yes, he made the final decision,
but it's got to be embarrassing,
especially when you have the Republicans
and Trump saying, like,
I beat him so bad in the debate.
He's going to buy out,
he's going to bow out of the race.
Like, he's done.
He's old.
he's all these things,
and it makes it seem as if it was true.
So I would imagine that his ego is hurt,
and he's a little embarrassed as well.
That's the sad part to me for him.
Look, probably, I don't think he has anything to be ashamed of.
He doesn't, but I'm sure he is.
All right.
So, where are we now?
Where are things right now?
We're in the scary, silly season, silly zone,
because we kind of don't know who is running.
As we speak here, Kamala Harris has already raised $75 million.
People are excited.
Are they?
Well, we'll talk about that.
I read yesterday that it was $46 million in one day.
That's the most that's been raised in one day this entire year.
That small donor money coming in.
This is from Act Blue.
If that's the case, then that shows someone.
of excitement. Fair enough. Okay, we can get into it later, but it does. There's a couple of different
visions on how this should go. Obama has endorsed an open nominating process. He wants her to go
and earn it. The president has endorsed Kamala Harris. The Clintons have endorsed Kamala Harris,
and a lot of her would-be contenders, Gavin Newsom.
has endorsed Kamala Harris.
Gretchen Whitmer has endorsed Kamala Harris.
A lot of these people who people are looking at,
as these would be the people,
Pete Buttigieg has endorsed Kamala Harris.
A lot of these people have come out and said,
hey, we wanted to be her.
There's a huge amount of money
that's already in the coffers of the Biden-Harris campaign.
And the momentum would be better served
according to those people
if there's a seamless transition
from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris
and they run their campaign.
Sure.
What do you think should happen?
Open nominating citizen,
open nominating process like Obama is saying.
Or do we shift the focus to her,
who her running mate might be,
and get back on track?
There was a big time argument
in my group chat.
over this.
And I'm interested to know what you think.
Well, so my understanding is the way that that would have to go down is if they do decide to fully endorse Kamala Harris, then there has to be that virtual vote before the convention in August.
And they would name her the new nominee.
If they do what Obama's suggesting, and I'm seeing other people who haven't said anything who I think are more leaning to that, top Democrats,
it would be the open convention where they have to run around
and try to get delegates to vote one way or the other.
It's like 68.
Chaos.
68, there was chaos in 68, but there was a lot of chaos in 68 at the convention,
not necessarily because of what was happening inside the convention itself.
The 68 convention was chaotic in it of itself
because of the massive protests that were outside of the convention.
It wasn't, the chaos inside of the 68 convention is a little bit overblown if you really understand the history of it.
Okay.
So this is what I will say.
This will be a chaotic process, in my opinion, if they decide to do an open convention.
We have already, the Republicans, whether they lie, whether you disagree with them, whatever, they're in one accord.
They've got it together.
They know what they're doing.
It's Trump.
It's J.D. Vance. They're pushing it forward. Since Biden's debate, I feel like we've been
running around like chickens with their heads cut off, cut off. It's like, do we want Biden to stay?
Do we want him to go? Some people are throwing their names in the hat. Some aren't. Some people
are calling for him to leave. Some are not. Then Biden decides to step down to me to show that we are
unified. And because he's endorsed it, I think the natural thing to do is to have this virtual
vote and then name her the new nominee and present a unified front at the DNC.
I think people would be entertained by watching the DNC where people are running around.
Like, we don't know what's going to happen.
I think that it would be good TV.
But to me, for public perception, I think that they need to show this unified front.
And I think that they need to get behind Kamala Harris.
And I think that's how things should be moving.
forward. I understand
it's something we brought up
before. I understand wanting to have
a mini-primary. I understand wanting to have
the open convention. I understand you wanting to
make the people feel like they're more involved as far
as nominating who is going to
represent the Democratic Party.
But I think that
and Kamel says
she wants to earn and win it. I think to me
where we are right now and where we
stand, this is what we need.
A virtual vote. So I think there are probably
a lot of reasons that President Obama said what he
said, I don't think that it demonstrates any lack of faith in Kamala Harris.
I don't either.
But I, you know, I do think that there are some political reasons that he said what he said,
and he does want to maybe take a wait-and-see approach on the excitement that the announcement of Kamala Harris creates on the left within the party.
and just how afraid the other side of her.
She wants to be a little bit more cautious about that.
He says, we will be navigating uncharted waters in days ahead,
but I have extraordinary confidence that our leaders,
that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.
I believe that Joe Biden's vision of a generous, prosperous in United America
provides opportunity for everyone will be on full display in the Democratic Convention in August.
When Biden takes the stage at the convention in August, he is going to get a reception like you have never seen before.
Sure.
Because a lot of people think that this is probably the most important things he's ever done in his political career.
Now, I could have come earlier for a lot of people, but a lot of people think him stepping aside right now shows that he actually has put country above his own political career, like you said.
I don't quite believe that.
I think they took it from him.
But whichever way, to your point, he still had to make the decision.
himself to step aside.
So you're right about that.
Now, look, guys, if in fact it's Kamala Harris,
let's get into the names that she might choose to be her VP
because this is very important.
In an election that's going to be this close and contested,
a lot of people are saying you want a VP that appeals to some of the places
that Kamala Harris will not appeal to, particularly a white man VP.
Whitmer is probably out as VP.
I doubt that the Democrats would run a two, a two-woman ticket.
And you want someone who can deliver a swing state.
Right.
Or helps you in a swing state.
So that really narrows it down.
That really narrows it down.
So the reality you hear is, of the real people that we're looking at,
I think that there are a couple of people,
and I'll tell you, maybe you think there's some people as well.
One is Governor Roy Cooper, who's a governor of North Carolina.
Trump narrowly won North Carolina in 20,
and then 16, at 16 electoral votes there in North Carolina.
Carolina. Now, there are some that say, even if you got Cooper, when in North Carolina
it's going to be a chore for the Democrats. But Cooper is well liked. He's vetoed Republican
bills on abortion and guns and has very strong approval ratings overall. Let's look at some
of the approval ratings of Roy Kupstah. Kupstana. Do you know who? No, that's his nickname.
No. Kupstana.
No.
Roy, Coopsta.
Shout out to hypnotized Mind Camp.
Do you know who Coopsanika is?
Oh.
Coopstinika.
But that's not what, is that his nickname.
Coopsta.
Kupsta Nika.
Do y'all, do y'all know who Kupstanika is?
Kupstinika.
Y'all don't know.
Y'all really, what did y'all listen to?
Coup.
See, that's the problem.
Van acts like if he listens to it, then everybody should have been listening to it.
Coopstanika.
Hold on.
He is right here.
Not even spelled me.
K-O-O-P-S-T-A.
Damn, Coops has passed away.
But we knew that.
I forgot.
See?
Oh, oh, I thought everybody knew that he passed away.
That's how you would be.
Yeah, but you don't, but why don't you, you don't listen to him?
Hang around with, Coops that you got.
No, I mean, you know, I listen to some three, six months.
We've been through this, hypnotized minds.
So, I'm looking at some approval ratings.
for Roy here and they don't seem to have them and I'm not going to search through 538 for them.
Rachel, who are some other people that they're talking about as a potential running mate for her?
Mark Kelly.
Big name.
I like him.
Senator Mark Kelly.
Astronaut.
Astronaut.
Scientist.
It's a swing state.
Did you say what state is from?
Oh, sorry.
Arizona.
Sorry.
Arizona.
Swing state.
11 electoral votes there.
I think I saw Bukari say that that's who he thinks too
should be the name.
A lot of people are pushing him real hard.
A lot of people are, but I still think
that there are other good candidates too.
Yeah.
I mean.
So you have Mark Kelly and then you also have
Andy Bashir, who is the governor of Kentucky.
That's the interesting one to me.
You like him.
Well, I like that he's already coming at JD fans.
Not that that's all what it should be based off of,
but he's a governor, he's a Democrat,
and he's won in a red state twice.
So that shows that he is able to have that kind of appeal.
Plus, he's been very critical of J.D. Vance
in the way that J.D. has painted.
Do you say Kentuckians?
Kentuckians?
Kentucky.
The people from Kentucky.
And so I kind of want to see this matchup of,
I know the, I'm from where you're from.
I know the language that you speak.
I kind of want to see them go head to head.
And he obviously can appeal to another side.
So he's interesting to me.
is Governor Josh Shapiro, who's the governor of Pennsylvania,
who everyone, everyone seems to love.
Battleground State there in Pennsylvania,
19 electoral votes are going to be a very, very important state.
Biden won and 20.
Hillary lost it in 16,
and Josh Shapiro is one of the gentlemen
that's looked at as the future of the party.
Interesting.
Between, I've been hearing everybody talk about
Shapiro, Shapiro, Shapiro, how much
say love Shapiro.
And it seems as if
for him, there's a massive opportunity
in the next two or three years,
irregardless of whether or not,
is irregardless a word?
Yeah, it is, right?
Is it?
I saw shaking of the head.
I don't think irregardless is going on.
Regardless.
Regardless of whether or not
he ends up being the VP pick or not,
he's a major player in the party for the next
a couple of years on a national basis. He's a moderate Democrat who's negotiated bipartisan
deals when he was in the state legislation, and also known as his work for his work as
Attorney General, he's setlements for victims of sexual abuse in the Catholic Diocese. He's also
been a very vocal supporter of Israel amid the country's devastating military offensive
in Gaza following the brutal October 7th attack of Hamas. So he's a died in the wool
pro-Israel guy there along with Federman up there in Pennsylvania
and see if maybe that has some sort of
effect on people's perception of him on a national level.
Vice President Harris has attempted to strike a more
tougher tone on Israel than the overall
administration has that could be a good cop, bad cop situation.
you think that maybe it is?
I don't know if it's...
I mean, she said immediate ceasefire,
but then also said
they have the right to defend themselves.
Right.
So that's a little walk in the line.
J.B. Pritzker, Illinois.
Democratic state
that Biden and Clinton, both won the 20 and 16.
As Governor Pritzker has established a modest
national profile, including remarks, he's given
attacking Trump and calls he's made for federal resources
to address immigration. Whitmer is on here.
She's a fantastic candidate
for the future of the Democratic Party. I doubt
that she would be the running made
of Kamala Harris,
although Michigan is a very important state.
15 electoral votes
and a state that has obviously had
the uncommitted movement there.
Yeah, that had a 100,000 vote uncommitted.
So you never know where Biden stands.
And by proxy, you never know where
Harris stands in Michigan right now.
Then, of course, Pete Buttigieg,
Gavin Newsom, we talked a little bit about these people.
I think your main players here are Mark Kelly,
Roy Cooper
and Josh Shapiro.
So you're going with the swing states.
Going with the swing states.
Going with white men.
It's got to be a white man.
And swing states, he'll be a white guy.
It's got to be a white man.
He's going to be a white dude in the swing state.
He's going to be super white.
You're going to get a white motherfucker.
You know what I'm saying?
He's going to be, that's going to be a white-ass running mate.
I like it.
You like white man?
No.
like that a black woman would be running the country,
and she has to give orders.
Wow.
You like that.
You like it when,
so what you're saying is you like it when a white man is underneath a black woman.
I used to.

Let's talk about Kamala Harris and the reaction here.
I'm having a serious moment here real quick.
And the first thing I'm going to attempt to do, and I always get it wrong when I do this,
the first thing I'm going to attempt to do is have a conversation with black women.
Don't mansplain now.
I'm not going to mansplain.
I'm not going to mansplain.
I think that I've seen something in the response to Kamala Harris being nominated that is deeply moving.
I've seen, I'm not saying I don't see it all the time, but I've seen the pain of black women.
I saw Scotty Beam tweet something.
And Scotty Beam is one of the most unafraid people I think I've ever seen.
Scotty not afraid of shit,
or at least she doesn't seem afraid of shit.
I'm not saying that she's afraid now.
But I saw her send a very impassioned tweet
warning black women or not necessarily warning,
warning them because it was done in love, talking about what the next some odd months would feel
like as Kamala Harris is attacked. As she's attacked for being black, she's attacked for being
a woman, as she's attacked, and her relationships are brought into question. Her strength is brought
into question. Her intelligence is brought into question. Her capability and her qualifications are
brought into question. And what that is going to feel like for a lot of the black women out there
watching that and going through that, who've had that same experience in their lives.
Right. And it was very human. And I stopped to think for a second about why some of the reaction
I've seen to her being nominated is what it is. Because what I've heard was there's no way
that America will elect a black woman. And America doesn't see black women as valuable in
to occupy the highest office in the land.
And this is a possibility that can happen.
This is something that we don't see in our country.
We don't see our experience and who we are.
We don't see that valued.
And it's profound.
It's profound because in a moment,
the reality of things,
the feelings that surround that reality
are overshadowing
an unbelievable opportunity.
And it's not a lie.
It's real.
And the pain that must be associated with that
is awesome.
That must be a tremendous burden to care.
as a black man,
I understand that I'm in danger,
but there's not much in America I don't think that I can do.
There's not much in America.
And I'm not saying this is all black ladies that feel this way
because it's definitely not.
And the Internet is a smaller place
than we sometimes give you credit for being,
but for the ones that do feel that way.
I've still seen it, right?
I've still seen a black man run the country.
You know, not many.
Not all the time.
not as much as we should.
I know that I'm not saying that,
oh, we've eclipsed the need
for us to have conversations about race
or where we're staying in this country
because I still see black men
massacred by the police.
I still see black men incarcerated
at disproportionate rates.
I still see the reality of what we are.
But I've also seen something else.
And in a lot of cases, black women haven't seen it.
But we have to believe it right now.
We have to.
Like, we have to.
have to believe it.
Like, we think that America is about who you win with.
It's not.
America is about who you're allowed to lose with.
If you make a hire and it's a young white guy,
a straight white male,
and it takes him a little bit longer to get it,
he's not living up to it.
He's not getting it.
Well, you got a bad one.
You got a bad one.
All right.
If you have to let them go,
you have to put them on a tighter leash
is looked at as investing
into something
that has been
to mainstream America,
typically fruitful,
which is the straight white male.
They're the geniuses that built it all.
They're the most stable people.
They're the ones that in this country,
if you want a good return into,
you put something into them.
But see if you hire a,
a black person and they don't work out, then they fire you.
Right?
If you hire a black person and they don't get it.
If you hire a black person and they lose it for you, if you hire a black person, then the
question starts to be, well, why'd you put a nigger in there?
What do you think was going to happen?
Like, why'd you woke it up?
Why'd you DEI it up?
Why not go for the best person for the job?
I get that white people feel that way.
It's profound to know that black people feel that way.
It's profound to know that black people look at someone that's black that's going for something
and would rather lose with a white person because Biden was losing,
polling, the exact same polling, we're looking at it.
Biden was losing, right?
a lot of these other people that you're looking at right now are neophytes to this entire situation.
They're brand new.
The work that you would have to do to get Kamala Harris across the finish line is the same work
that you'd have to do to get them across the finish line.
But the fear about the ceiling that's put on her, the realistic fear about the ceiling that's put on her,
was so paralyzing to so many people that they could not imagine.
a situation where she would be the president.
I don't care if she wins or if she loses.
That's got to die.
Sure.
Like, you can't do it that way.
You can't in one breath want freedom, equity, and equality.
And then believe that the only way that you can get that
is that if a white man represents you for it.
You can't do that.
At some point, at some point, you have to look in the mirror and say, we're good enough, we're going to go get it.
And that doesn't just mean for the win.
Like, losing together is as important as winning together.
The Avengers.
Tony and Steve are arguing.
Who's Steve?
Steve Rogers is Captain America.
Okay.
And it's a profound little statement that he makes.
They're talking about how they're going to fight Ultron
or how they're going to fight this threat that's coming from outer space.
Tony believes this threat is lurking.
He's talking about Thanos.
And Tony says to see if he's Steve says, well, how are we going to do?
And Steve goes, we'll do it together.
And Tony goes, we'll lose.
And then Captain America goes, we'll do that together too.
The Avengers are his fucking squad.
And the Avengers are his fucking squad.
These are his people.
He believes in them.
He believes in them enough to take the chance that they can go get done what they need to do.
He can win with them and he has one with them.
and he believes he will win with them,
but he also believes in them enough to know
that he could also lose with them,
but this is the best that they've got
and he's going out there to get it.
So I'm asking people to be bold enough,
to be stupid and silly enough,
to believe that if the work is done and the case is made,
that we can get Kamala Harris across the finish line.
I'm asking people to, in the moments after that,
not jump back and say,
this is an impossibility.
This is something that can't happen
to say, all right, what's the goal?
Let's get to it.
Let's make the case.
Let's prosecute the case.
Let's dare to believe in the power that we have.
And if we're wrong, we're wrong.
but nothing is going to be done.
Nothing is going to be accomplished.
Nothing is going to be gained
if we look in a mirror and say
we've already lost.
I guess I'm not seeing that sentiment.
I tried to stay off Twitter.
I didn't see the sentiment of, oh, we've already lost.
I have seen the sentiment, and I've said this myself,
that I fear that people won't rally around her.
It doesn't mean, and so when I have said that, or I've seen other people say that, or maybe somebody has a fear of what she's going to have to go through or, you know, be subjected to as a black woman because it's two folds there, I don't think that those people, at least for myself, I'll speak and say, that I don't think she can do it. I just know that it's, or that it's not even that she can't do it. It's that it's not like I am not going to support her and rally around her.
I guess is my thing.
But I fear that particularly when they were asking for Joe Biden to step down.
This is before Joe Biden stepped down.
And it was like, well, I felt like Biden would fare better against Trump in this situation.
I saw people rallying around him as the incumbent for whatever it could be being a white male.
I saw people rallying around him to beat Trump more than I did for him to step down and calm Harris at the time.
Now he has stepped down.
So this is who I believe is the best person.
Do I fear people won't rally around her?
Yes.
And I think a lot of people have that sentiment.
But I've also seen that just because they fear that, I think that motivates them even more to wrap their arms around her, her campaign and push her forward.
I think that one factor that is not calculated in something that you're saying is that it's also the fear of Trump.
And so I think that because typically, historically, we have not seen black women uplifted,
it's hard to imagine that they would uplift somebody who has never been uplifted in that way before to the highest office.
I think people are so motivated on beating Trump that sometimes they're fearful and it blinds them of being able to support a Kamala Harris or believe in her that she's capable of running the office because she absolutely is.
Does that, like, okay.
So what does that say something like?
No, no, no.
I think the Trump factor is something in it.
But I do believe that people, from what I saw, it's a motivation for me to rally around her even more.
Because I don't think people will be just simply because of how she looks.
There's certain stereotypes that are with women in general.
And then there's certain stereotypes with black women.
And you're already seeing it, send in the group chat, what things that can't.
And as Owens is saying, another black woman, she's going to be subjected to criticism and scrutiny that a white man never would be.
That motivates me to fight even harder for her.
So people can look past the stereotypes and actually look at why she's in the position that she's in today.
What she's accomplished so far.
What she's done.
What she's learned.
People want to throw out her campaign in 2020.
It's the first time she was running for president.
She was stepping into new territory.
of course mistakes were made.
Now she has four years under her belt as the vice president.
She was privy and involved in the infrastructure bill,
in other bills that Biden was trying to push forward.
She's been right there in the forefront of foreign policy conversation.
She is way more season than people want to give her credit for.
This woman is qualified.
She ran in 2020.
People thought she was qualified then.
If you thought it then, she's even more qualified now to run.
I'm motivated by that.
This is what I would say.
I get it.
We don't have time to be scared.
No.
Agreed.
I think that just like the movie After Earth says, it's a hidden gym, danger is real.
Fear is not.
I devoted way too much of my life to fear.
No, we all probably have.
I've devoted too much of my life to fear.
I'm not talking to people as some sort of person who doesn't understand what.
it's like to be afraid. I didn't fly on a plane for 10 years. I grew up in a place where people
were killed all the time. We hear a pop. What the hell is going on? You know what I mean?
So many people lost. Fear of grief. My own mortality. All of these things. It's been a lot of fear.
The only way any success has been had has been overcoming the fear, understanding the danger,
Understand that there is danger for you lurking as a black person in America.
That danger is ingrained.
It's systemic.
It's real.
It's inherently dangerous to be black in America.
I don't care how many fucking books Coleman Hughes writes.
Right.
It's inherently, it's a dangerous situation by any metric that you use.
But it's nothing to be afraid of.
There's no fear that needs to be involved.
in that. An understanding of danger and your place isn't the same thing as fear.
Fear is paralyzing. Fear takes energy. Fear takes time. Fear takes emotion. It's not time to be
scared right now. True. Honesty, organization, and impact is what's needed right now. If you
want to beat Donald Trump, then act like you want to beat him.
Having conversations about what she can or cannot do or what the ceiling on her or any
other politician is out there.
I'll go back to this list real quick.
Let's go back to this list.
There is not one candidate that doesn't come with risk.
I'm not saying it's the same risk that being a black woman in America is.
Obviously, it's not.
Shapiro is Jewish.
America has never elected a Jewish president.
And I do think that there are a lot of people out there that would look at his Jewishness
and go, can he win in certain states?
Right?
Gavin Newsom is a Californian.
He's the governor of California.
I said I liked Gavin Newsom on this podcast months ago, and people talked about just how
vulnerable a candidate Gavin Newsom is because of the repubes.
of California naturally right now in some swing states.
I would argue, excuse me, in some of the other places I would argue right now,
California has the fifth largest economy in the world.
Its GDP is growing at 6.1%.
But there are a lot of reasons that you would look at California and say that
California is a great place to live and that things are fine, but whatever.
It's expensive.
I get it.
Gretchen Whitmer is a woman.
Not a black woman.
Completely different situation.
Sexism very likely caused Hillary Clinton to lose in 2016.
I think Hillary was a historically bad candidate when you look back at it.
But also, there was some real sexism in there.
If I look at some of these people, some of them are unknown quantities to America in terms of who they are.
There's no slam dunk here.
There's not a slam dunk in this group of people, someone who all of a sudden just,
beats Donald Trump.
But there is someone
who has a lot of advantages
that these other candidates don't have.
Who can speak to the record
of the prior administration,
or the current administration,
shall I say, better than Joe Biden,
who can rally a part of the electorate
behind her
if they are unafraid enough
to support her
in a way that other candidates
might not be able to.
And who the party, at least right now, despite what Joe Manchin and the rest of these people are trying to do, would be willing to step in for after President Obama finished playing whatever game he's playing.
So what I'm saying is I'm stupid enough.
I'm arrogant enough.
I'm idiotic enough to think that we need to go and fucking do it.
Not that people don't have the right to talk about their feelings and their emotions surrounding this.
but that I've been critical of Kamala Harris in the past as well.
You have.
I've been critical of all of these people.
There's not a politician that's out there that I haven't been critical of.
Super critical of all of them.
All right.
At this moment, what we do is what we do.
And we go save our fucking country or we stand in the back,
holding hands and crying, and we give it to them.
There are only two choices.
So back to your original question then, you believe that they should do the virtual vote and put her up as the nominee.
It's her fucking chance.
It's her time.
You don't think there should be an open convention.
No.
They ain't got time.
What we need to do right now is get together.
Everybody that's having all of the think piece discussions about what a candidate is or what we need to do, we need to do.
we need boots on the ground
we need to go
and we need to get it
and we need to learn the lessons
that we need to learn
along the way
we need to see black women
and understand black women
and let them know
in full and robust ways
I'm ready for you to lead
not in a halfway way
not oh man
you didn't really hell down the household
you know what I'm saying
you didn't been strong for a generation
and you know what I'm saying.
Not in songs.
Not in slogans.
Not in,
man, I really know what I'm saying?
When I look out as my baby.
Nah, no, I'm ready for you to lead.
If there's a black woman around you right now
and you hear her talking about what it means
for Kamala Harris to be out there,
let her know that you're ready for her to lead.
Forget about Kamala Harris.
That woman that you share your house with,
that woman at your job,
hear that woman there, let her know
that you're okay with
her leading, pour
into her, and then
maybe we have some
maybe we have some hope. Because of that,
Rachel, I think you should introduce the next topic.
Are you going to let me lead?
You're going to let me lead?
Which topic are we doing? See what I'm saying?
Which one do you want to do? Lead!
No, let's do Team USA. That's
enough. One more thing I say. I'm going to ask you. Will Kamala Harris
beat Donald Trump? Yes. We're going to win. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we have to. No, no, we have. We're going to win.
That's what I'm saying. Y'all want to manifest all these other things in your life, speak things into existence.
We have to not just say it. Yesterday, text messages were going around to women to gather on a Zoom call,
44,000 people showed up on a Zoom to support, to show their support and back up Kamala Harris.
Like, that's the kind of energy that we need.
I do think people are excited in a way that I underestimated.
I just want to say that because I've been very much so like, if Biden says he's doing it,
he's doing it.
He's out.
So now I'm standing behind Kamala Harris.
People seem to be reinvigorated into this race.
Like, what could be?
They're excited about the next debate.
They're excited to hear what Kamala Harris.
Harris's ideas are to lead this country into the next phase.
I'm excited about that too.
She will win and we will rally behind her.
We do. Let's get it.

So the next topic,
we actually were able to watch, what, the fourth quarter of this together?
Yeah.
You and Kalika came over this weekend.
Team USA versus South Sudan.
Now, I have to tell you,
they was upset.
They walked into the house.
it was like, what the hell is Team USA doing?
At the time, at the half, they were down 14 points.
I think it was like, or at one point, it was like 58 to 44.
They were definitely down at the half.
Team USA, they're doing their thing.
They're trying to get their fifth straight gold medal.
But it's not looking too hot right now.
South Sudan took them to town up like to the last second,
eight seconds left.
LeBron James goes in.
Seals the deal, gets the layup.
They went by 1.101 to 100.
Are you confident in Team USA?
I mean, while you were watching,
you basically were saying they look like trash.
Yeah, they look terrible.
Do they look terrible for one game,
or are they just terrible together?
I mean, they're 4-0.
So this is what I would say.
Number one, I watched the whole game when they played Canada.
Canada has a lot of NBA guys on the team.
Like, really, actually, name recognition, Canada is like,
pretty impressive team.
They were able to pull it out,
the whole nine.
The problems with Team USA
that I see
are very odd problems
for a basketball team like this to have.
Okay.
They have problems getting easy buckets.
That's weird.
For a team USA team.
They have a problem getting easy buckets.
They have problems guarding
guys on the 101.
In that fucking last
shot scenario that South Sudan had, and we should say South
Sudan had some NBA guys on their team too, and they're led by some
Royal Ivy, Texas's UT zone.
Yeah, and Luall Dang was over there. That last shot, that nigga fucked
over Drew Holiday.
Where is this nigga at? Like, I ain't seen nobody.
Bop, bang! Like, he destroyed Drew. And they were
getting pretty much what they wanted, South Sudan.
Like, the shots that they wanted, they were pretty much getting
whatever shot they wanted.
And the United States, it seemed to me,
had a lot of problems generating
shots that were good
or shots that you felt like,
okay, that's a good look after all.
It's just, they seemed fucked.
Yeah, they were, like,
we were watching that last quarter,
they were throwing up shots.
I mean, I made the comment at one point,
I was like, it feels like they're playing
in an NBA All-Star game.
They just didn't seem to be playing
on both sides of the ball.
and I think South Sudan came in there ready to go,
ready to make their mark.
I mean, they got our attention for sure.
I think they'll be fine.
I think they probably just came in and underestimated.
Well, Kevin Durant didn't play in this game.
Right.
And so if Kevin Durant is on the floor,
that's the easiest score in the history of the league.
No one scores as easy as Kevin Durant.
Like Kobe, to me, was just the most devastating Kobe.
You know, this is Kobe.
Whenever I think about Kobe.
What is that?
That's Kobe.
Oh, ah.
E, ooh, ah, boom.
Kobe was the man, bro.
He was, bud.
That's the Kobe sound.
That's what Kobe would do to you.
You've literally given five sounds.
That's the, that's the...
Kobe had a bag, man.
Kobe was...
Is that what plays in your head
when you would walk?
Watch him play.
But he could also pass.
So Kobe would, because Kobe,
Kobe was a great passer.
He just didn't like the pass.
So you know how Magic Johnson will hit you with that.
Hee he!
That's what Magic says it.
Kobe will hit you with the eye.
Ooh.
That's Kobe.
Kevin Durant is like,
it's like,
easy like Sunday morning.
Yeah.
Like KD.
He's whatever he wants.
He's smooth.
And so in that.
situation, when you have a guy like that
that's back on
the team, I feel like
that's going to open things up a little bit easier
because down the stretch there,
they just needed to get a couple
of easy bucks. LeBron got to the
basket pretty easily and scored.
And so I think
that they'll be okay.
But it was difficult to watch them play so
discombobulated on both offense and defense.
They gave up 100 points.
They gave up 100 points. Offense and
The defense to South Sudan.
It was just, it was, it was, it was odd.
And if this team loses, so America lost in 04.
But you have to look at the makeup of the team.
Okay, if you go back.
Yeah, Iverson was on a team.
I think Tim Dunga was on a team, but D.Way was young.
LeBron was young.
It's a different type of team, right?
And international basketball was also getting to a point where Argentina and all these different places was really good.
But we haven't had a dream team-esque squad with the very best players in the league lose.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
So if they lose, that would be it.
This would be one.
This would be like this is when, you know, you have your all-N-B-A guys, your Stephs, your Durants.
Now, be honest with you, a lot of these all-N-B-A guys that were on the team,
all-N-B-A teams last year.
were international guys.
So the best player in your game is Nicola Yokic.
And you have guys like motherfucking Wemby.
And you have guys like motherfucking Yannis.
You have guys like motherfucking,
the guy who was in the finals on the other side
of the goddamn Celtics was Luca.
Now, these guys are from some other place.
And then you have your African guys coming in,
your Canadian guys.
It's different.
I mean, that's the, this is where things are head.
Yeah, if the team wins in 24, they might be fucked in 28.
Yeah.
You never know.
I mean, look at the draft.
Yeah, the drafts.
First two players, not here.
It's different.
But that's what they want.
They want the game to be international.
This is the result of it.
WMBA All-Star, the game was fucking fantastic as well.
The women, the Olympic team lost.
I love that setup.
You do?
I love that it's Team USA versus Team WNBA.
I think that's so exciting as a fan to watch that.
And, like, I don't know.
I just...
Did you watch the game?
I was at a birthday party.
Yeah, see what I'm saying?
You know, Rachel...
You were supposed to be there.
Rachel, you talk a good game about the WNBA,
but you are not a supporter of the league.
You guys, he tried to do this to me off mic too.
Don't do this to me.
It's facts.
You didn't...
Why don't you support the league?
I was supporting my friend instead.
I'm a better friend than you.
You didn't come.
It was Jomi's birthday.
There's actual evidence of you sleeping on the couch.
It was Jomi's birthday.
Oh, I got a really cute picture you in Kroffer, by the way, too.
Oh, my man.
No, you were sleep on the couch.
I went to support my friend.
She just happened to have her birthday right in the middle of the game,
but it's not like I didn't read about the game, okay?
It's not like I ignored it.
She just didn't help it at all.
It was a sold-out game.
Sold out games, stars there, watching them play.
I really do.
I meet it.
I really love the setup of Team USA versus Team W.
I think that is so exciting.
I think that's a genius move.
You get to watch your favorite W-N-V-A players play Team USA.
You get to see.
And the fact that they won made it even better.
Team USA, I mean, Team WNBA won.
They won, and it was easy.
They was giving them that goddamn work.
Which is interesting because for the women's Olympic team,
they've always won.
I personally think, honestly...
Not the All-Star game, I'm saying,
the Olympics.
I personally think that was a way
for some of the players like Arege
and some other people
that didn't make the team
to, like, give them the fucking business.
Yeah.
And how exciting was it for people to see
Caitlin and Angel play together?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
I want to ask you about something
because you like sports.
Mm-hmm.
You're a sports...
Would you say you're a sports gal?
I'm into sports.
Yeah, I'm a sports gal, fine, whatever.
Why?
Because some people are going to be like, why does that be gal?
Almost said, I'm just like a sports person.
I'm into sports.
Okay.
ESPN did...
I hate lists.
Don't give you the list.
They did their top 100 of the last century of sports.
I want to know what you think about.
Why don't you like lists, by the way?
Because we debate lists all.
all the time. And I'm pretty sure we've done, we tried to do a top five of the greatest athletes on this podcast before previously.
But we've already said lists are political. They always get things wrong. It's subjective.
So, you know, but go ahead. Give it to me.
So this is the list. Top five or top ten? You're going to do top ten.
Okay.
Top ten, Mr. Kobe.
He's ten? He's ten. He's ten.
Ten.
Number nine, Usain Bolt.
Number eight, Tiger Woods.
Number seven, Simone Biles.
Number six, Roger Federer.
Number five, Tom Brady.
Number four, LeBron James.
Number three, Leonel Messi.
Number two, Serena Williams.
Number one, Michael Phelps.
Did I miss Michael Jordan?
This is of this century.
I mean, not this century, like 2000 on.
Okay.
What are you doing?
Well, I was looking up something else, but then you said 2000 on.
The 21st century.
Of the 21st century.
Okay.
Jordan ain't going to be on that bitch.
I just thought it was, period.
Did you miss Michael Jordan?
Well, then you said Yusain Bolt, it made me think about Michael Johnson.
And then you said this century.
You saying Bolt is fucking over Michael Johnson in every way, shape, or four.
And that's what love to Michael Johnson.
I'm looking at medals.
I'm looking at medals.
I'm not looking at, let's see.
It's, this is so hard.
I mean, obviously, that's a good list.
It's hard to argue with that list.
There was Serena on it, Simone Bauer.
Those are the only women?
Yeah.
On the top ten.
I mean, there are more women throughout the entire.
On the top ten, those are only two women.
Yeah, I mean, if we're only talking about this century.
Oh, yeah, he's got more.
Who's got more?
Who's saying?
Then Michael Johnson?
Yeah.
You can't compare it with saying both to Michael Jones.
It's not like I'm that far off when I'm looking at the gold.
I'm just saying.
By the way, shout out to my Jamaicans, man.
Shout out to all of my Jamaicans out there.
this I want to always like to do diaspora wars
shout out to my Jamaicans
y'all was talking big shit all them years y'all had
sprinting lockdown
but they did though they did
but they did you get like that you guys talking big shit
y'all was talking big shit
man all my Jamaicans
shout out to Marlon
shout out to all of my people
y'all was talking big shit I don't know now man
now it seems like the United States
is running again
baby
niggas
do you think
anybody should be left off this list
I mean you think somebody should be in the top ten that wasn't
not really
I mean
you got Cobb you got Usain Bolt
you got Tiger Woods
I feel like Tiger Woods could be higher
I felt like Kobe could have been higher
yeah I feel like Tiger Woods could be higher
honestly
I was gonna say
honestly messy could be number one
You know what I mean?
Messy could be number one
But Michael Phelps could be number one
Once you get to the Michael Phelps
Serena Williams, Lionel Messi
LeBron James era
It really kind of
Wow, Aaron Donald
Number 20
Aaron Donald
Donald
Oh I thought you said
They had Sam Darnold
No I was about to say shit
I always say Sam Donald
and Aaron Darnold
I always mix it up
Might be
The best defensive player
in the history of the NFL
It could be
I'm not saying he's shooting me on the list
I'm just like
Wow, 20.
But it is the 2000s up.
I have to keep reminding myself.
I think Diana Tarasi could be higher up.
What do they have her list of that?
21.
Diana Tarasi, you feel like she's the greatest one of the basketball player of all time?
I mean, she's, what, 42?
She's been playing, oh, she's 20 years.
She's in her 20th year?
I don't know greatest of all time.
It's so, it's, see, this, I get, it's hard for me to say that because of who I grew up on.
And so there's, like, a sentimental,
mental attachment to like a Cheryl swoops.
So, you know, it's hard for me to say,
she might be.
This is breaking right now.
RFK Jr.
Out?
Well, no, he was trying to be a part of Trump's cabinet.
Oh.
Yeah.
Y'all going to learn to stop falling for these goddamn charlatans.
Well, didn't you see the video come out where he was, like, on the phone with Trump
and it was recorded on his video?
Like, they're cool.
Yeah.
mean. And it wasn't supposed to leak out, but it did.
Independent Presidents of Candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. held talks this month with
former President Trump about endorsing his campaign and taking a job in the Second Trump
administration overseeing the portfolio of health and medical issues.
Oh, no.
According to four people familiar with the matter. The discussions which began hours after
the attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in July 13th didn't result in an agreement
made concerns that Trump's orbit about the complications, about promising.
Trump's orbit
amid concerns in Trump's orbit,
about the complications about promising a job
in exchange for a political endorsement
according to the people who spoke on the condition of anonymity
to describe private conversations.
A lot of bullshit going on right now.
Hell, RFK,
you were supporting him at one point.
Stop.
You liked him.
We all know that's a lie.
All right, guys, we got to go.
A lot of stuff going on.
Lots of shit happening, guys.
Huge shift. Huge shift. A huge shift. Are you feeling better or worse now that Joe Biden is out of the race?
If Joe Biden, okay, I'll tell you why I feel better. It's not that I was rooting for Joe Biden to be out. But if he stepped down to me, that's because he knows he shouldn't be there. So if there was ever an inkling, thought, whatever, that you should not have been there, then that makes me feel better that you're not.
Interesting.
So then let's put the person who should be.
Interesting.
So what you're saying is you, we don't have good polling yet,
but you're not any more confident about the Democrats' chances.
No, I'm not saying that.
I was confident with Biden.
But if Biden thinks that he isn't capable to serve another four years,
then he should step down.
And so I'm now confident in whoever,
because I believe it's Kamala Harris,
I'm confident that she will be the next nominee and that she will win.
Oh.
I'm telling you.
Telling you.
I'm telling you.
I'm telling you.
I'm telling you.
I'm telling you.
I'm looking at some of this polling right now.
It's within the margin of error.
It can be done.
It will be done.
There are some things that I mean, again, I'm really looking forward to seeing once she's nominated to see the things that she talks about.
I'm really excited about a debate between her and Donald Trump.
You know, people always, like, sometimes talk about when they lean to the negative of her.
They talk about the way that she communicates or certain things that she said.
But, like, when she's up there debating, when she's, like, she's in her bag.
And I'm excited to see that.
Just letting you guys know, Trump is a historically unpopular candidate.
It's got to get on top.
of the messaging and the ground game.
That's the message.
Yeah.
Very important.
Very important.
All right.
Take Dean Capp's office.
Do not stop running on Van Lee Jr.
I'm Rachel and Lindsay.
Hi, guys.
