Sometimes you have sentencing guidelines. Yes, they give a victim statement. Or they say something. Sometimes I hear the judge when the judge is sentencing people. They actually say you show no remorse. So here it is a thousand years. So that leads me to believe that if you show some remorse, that you might get maybe 120 years.

I don't know. Sometimes it helps. Like, you know how like you'll have a case that says up to 20 years? Sure. Yeah. Sure. Maybe you give 19 instead. If you, man, I'm not going to lie.

I saw some shit one time where, you know, this woman had killed somebody with a car. God bless the dead. And then the family of the person they killed with the car was in there. and they were like, hey, we forgive her. It's cool. And the judge let her off. The judge was like, well, I mean, he didn't let her off, but he was like, hey, he didn't hit her with a whammy.

Because everybody seemed so remorseful and it was like an accident. Wow. What they look like. Caca, caca, caca, caca, cagia, gage. And, um, but still, though, I think your judges can listen to you, apologize and be like you're. Absolutely again. No, you can give a statement. I'll Donnie's got some.

I want to say I'm sorry. Yeah. For the things I've done and I try and be stronger. And it's like I chose, but I want you to know. I don't even have that. I don't even have that. Oh, ooh. I love that day.

Now, oh, he's out. He's finished serving his time and wanted to show the world he's a reformed man. And he came back, he remixed in Adel song. Nah, he's out. No, this is not. Stop. He did. I think he served three years.

He served three years. Yeah. He was released. I'm seeing this from 2016. From the Woodland Correctional Facility in Michigan on September 10th. So he sings on his new song, Hello World. It's me. I was wondering if after all these years we could meet and go over a couple of things.

So he remixed Adele's Sari and he dropped that house. I'm not sure how things are going. Ma'am, I got to say you're right on this. It sounds like that was armed robbery and he got out in three years. It sounds like the song worked. Well, he did a lot of stuff.

So check this out. Let's talk about this guy real quick. He said that he tried to spend every minute being productive while he was inside. He never gambled. He never got into fights. He used the time to improve himself. While locked up, he volunteered for the prisoner

palliative, I don't know that word, care aid program to help sick inmates during their final days. That is kind of amazing. He also volunteered for the prisoner observation aid program and was entrusted with watching over other prisoners to ensure they didn't hurt themselves or commit suicide. It says that it had a deep effect on him. There are a lot of mentally ill people and I wanted to help. During peer-to-peer group therapy, see, they never show you what. happens on the other side. They show you when a nigger looked his most ridiculous.

During peer-to-peer therapy, he sang songs to people to lift their spirits. And he says he felt like they're related to it. He says, now that he's out, people don't even think that he's been to prison because of how he conducted themselves. He said he tried to learn to respect boundaries while he was in there. Didn't want to come out worse. Came out better. Wow.

He said he's planning to release an album in March of 2020. I'm going to reach out to this, brother. I hope that he's doing okay, Brian Earl Taylor. Did he release the album? I'm about to look him up. If he did, I want to make sure that Brian Earl Taylor does not fall victim to recidivism because Brian Earl Taylor seems like a good dude. He's lost even more weight.

and the National Basketball Association of a coach that led his team all the way to the NBA finals is facing a one-year suspension. This was broke by. Adrian Wolljanowski Hashtack Wogemam for having a consensual relationship with a woman on the Celtics staff.

It's been very famously reported and you've seen her at the sidelines in Madi Doca unless we don't know everything that's going on in his relationship has been in a relationship with Neo Long since 2010. They have a son together according to these same reports, his job is not currently in jeopardy.

And the decision on the length of the suspension will come on Thursday later on Thursday, but from what we're understanding, Thursday is today. So it's Friday now. We don't quite know yet. It looks like a year. And this has gotten a lot of people upset. Like a lot of people are mad. Your friend, Stephen A. Smith, said that this is racialisms.

Donnie, run the audio. Ain't that being done to a brother? Because I got news for you, America. There's plenty of white folks in professional sports. That's doing their thing. And I say that not complimentary. I don't see the information out about them. Why are we talking about this?

We got to talk about it because it's the news. Ain't none of our damn business unless you fire him. But if you keep them, it's none of our business. it should have never been put out there by the Celtics organization. And don't tell me you didn't do it because you absolutely did it because news reporters got it.

So it emanated out of Boston. Somebody ain't in L.A. or Utah or something leaking this stuff about the Boston Celtics. This is on y'all. You shouldn't have been out here. That's what I have to say. All right. I guess Stephen A's point is that

either they should have fired him or kept everything in house, but to give. Is he saying he should have fired him? I mean, yeah. That's what he said. I mean, I watched that clip. He says, if this is what he said.

He said, if they were going to do something, they should have fired him. But to suspend him for a year and then air his dirty laundry and the organization's dirty laundry to everyone to Stephen A. Smith wasn't fair. So I got a problem with how this whole thing was rolled out. It was, I remember. I was sitting on the couch, Simon & Brian, and he's like, whoa. And you see the tweet from Wojj. And this is what the original thing said. ESPN sources.

Boston Celtics coach Ime Adoka is facing possible disciplinary action, including a significant suspension for an unspecified violation of organizational guidelines. Discussions are ongoing with the Celtics on a final determination. There's a big picture of EMA and that's a breaking news from Adrian Wolliornowski. He might not have had all the details and maybe that's why he put it that way, but he also wanted the clickbait and the attention and I get it and I understand that's his job to do. But when you tweet something like that, it leaves it leaves it open for so much speculation and assumptions. And I, to my knowledge, and please correct me if I'm wrong,

I can't recall a coach being in trouble in this way. Step in here, if you can't. It turns about like fucking somebody on the staff type shit? Well, we didn't know the details yet, but at the time, it's like facing a possible disciplinary action, significant suspicion. And it's like, it sounds even bigger because it's like, can you think of another coach this has happened to in this way?

What could it be? Especially when it's on the hills of Robert Sarver. So you're listening, he just got a year of suspension. He just got fined $10 million. So you're like, man, it's got to be up there. We all know, as we've talked about on this podcast, what he was suspended for. Racism, sexism, creating a hostile work environment. So you're thinking that this is on this level. Then it comes out that it was an improper, intimate, and consensual relationship. And I'm not saying that I condone this type of behavior, especially, and I don't know as you. you said, the details of what their relationship is. It may be open. They may have an understanding. Who knows? But the fact that it was that and it was a consensual and it was a violation from the team's

code of conduct versus this huge significant suspension that was coming and looming and you're thinking that it has to be something to me. And this is where I agree with, as you said, my friend, Stephen A. Smith. Yeah. That it seems to be. It seems to be rooted in racism. And you can't, for me, when I saw, well, I'll say this. And I'm going to tell you why.

Okay. When I hear this news and then I see the team that he coaches for in the city that he's in, I can't separate the history of racism in Boston to how this news was released to us. I think that they're related and they're one and the same. And I think that it was purposeful and intentional that the news came out this way with a black head coach of this NBA team. And like it easily could have been kept under the wraps. It, like, we didn't need to know about any of this,

especially with it being a consensual relationship. So I do understand Stephen A. Smith's sentiments here. And I do think that this could have been handled a completely different way. I want to say by no means, am I excusing, you know, assuming that they don't have an understanding and assuming this was an affair and he cheated on the along. I'm in no way of excusing that. but I did feel a certain way about the way that this information was released and coupled with a year-long suspension.

It doesn't make sense to me. So without having all the details, I can't really talk about whether or not the suspension is warranted. I can't talk about that. I can't because if this is against the guidelines of the team, then I have to see what the deal is. but I want people to consider a couple of things here. Number one, I'm not saying that race doesn't play a part in this. Of course, I believe that race plays a part and everything. Okay, okay.

But I just have to, I'm trying to take the 360 view of this. There are a couple of things. Number one, if the staffer comes forward with this, it's much worse than if the team comes forward with it, much worse. Can I tell you why? we have in society litigated and discussed ad nauseum back and forth about whether or not it's even appropriate for someone in a power position that works at a place to have a relationship with one of their subordinates we've talked we've had that talk right don't know if she's a subordinate do you we we she's the head coach she almost certainly is if she's in the C suite she might not be that I know but like like the term that's been used is staffed So the term that's been used is staffer. There are very few people that are going to be in that situation.

And I'm assuming, too, as there's some assumptions being made, I'm assuming that this is the case. This might not be the case. You're right. So if she is in fact, if this lady is, in fact, a staffer and she has less power than Ime Udoca, it is a situation. for the organization. And it's a situation for any organization because we spent a lot of time over the last couple of years talking about whether or not, like you should have, you should enter into a sexual relationship with someone who is your subordinate because, you know, even though we know that two people can consent, the question is, you know, how much do you feel that you can consent? How much do you feel that pressure to do something? If you're reporting. to somebody or if somebody is above you,

you know, what is it that you're doing? And I'm not saying that that's the situation in any of this. He's a great looking guy. He's a very powerful guy. I'm not saying that women wouldn't want to sleep with him. I'm saying that organizationally, the Celtics might be overcorrecting here for something that they felt like could have been a lot worse.

And this is kind of in my opinion. I'm just spitball in here. This is kind of, in my opinion, like where we are right now. He's having a consensual relationship with somebody in the organization, as tawdry as it might be or you might feel like it is. It's not illegal, but it goes against their guidelines for whatever reason. And they feel like they have to be draconian in the suspension for whatever reason. Until the details come out, we won't really know. I think, though, to jump to this wouldn't have happened to a white coach,

you would probably have to have an example of another white coach that did something like this that was then let off the hook. Now, Stephen A. Smith claims to have those examples, and I'm sure he does. He's an NBA insire. But as far as everyone else, we can look at this and say, this is being treated in a certain way because he's black, but

the reality of the situations, we have to look at the fact that he actually did, like, do something knowingly that broke a code of conduct in terms of his employment with the Boston Celtics. Now, as far as the suspension,

a year suspension, look, I don't remember Sean Payton got a year's suspension for allegedly being part of Bounty Gate, right? Yeah. So I don't know how, how the serious, I don't know how they determined the seriousness of his suspension. I don't know. It seems like a pretty significant suspension. But these are the questions that you have to ask the Boston Celtics. Those are the questions. As far as whether or not it's, it's racist or they're coming down harder on him because he's a black coach, it's tough for me to say that now without having the rest of the information I would need to make that deduction. everything you're saying is 100% true and I totally agree and as you said we talked about on the podcast about the power someone who has more power over someone who's a subordinate and how that can cause

an unbalance in the relationship and all of that I understand that and I agree with that the reason I said I said I can't I'm not saying it wouldn't happen to a white coach I don't have that knowledge, but to the best of my knowledge, I have not seen a team suspend their head coach for something like this, this long. I don't even know if there's been a coach that's been suspended for a year when we've seen like, like Jerry Sloan pushed a ref before. He got like, I don't know, like seven, eight games or something like that. I've never seen a head coach have this type of suspension from their team. So then I start using, with the little knowledge I have, I start using circumstantial evidence. And I'm looking at a city that he plays in,

the history of that. And it's, it just, it's hard for me not to make that comparison. I'm not, I won't go as far as saying it can't happen to a white coach. It just seems when I look at all of this and that year suspension, it just seems to be extremely excessive, especially the fact that it has been highlighted that this was a consensual relationship. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be some type of suspension. But a full year and you're not losing your job, like a year is a hefty suspension, but he still has his job.

To me, to me, I look at that as, it's interesting. They don't want to fire him. They just, he just took them to the finals. The Celtics were having trouble getting over the hump with Brad Stevens as their head coach. Brad Stevens is an excellent basketball coach.

But for whatever reason, the player stopped responding to him. Yeah. Yeah, for whatever reason, the players stopped responding to Brad Stevens. They stopped picking up whatever he was putting down. Okay? Emao Doca comes in, energizes the Celtics.

They had a... I'm talking! Sorry. I'm just joking. Email O'Doka comes in, energizes the Celtics. They get off to a so-so start. Then they go on a tear the second half of the season.

Enough so, so, so when they went into the Celtics, a lot of people expected them. A lot of people said that they were playing. better than the Golden State Warriors. I don't think they want to lose Ime Udoka at all. I don't think they want to lose them at all. I think potentially if this were another coach or a coach that was having any less success than him,

that he probably would have been fired. Now, knowing the way niggas get treated, there is no way that you're going to make me believe that when punishments are meted out in America, that we don't get hit a little bit harder. I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying, I was surprised that Stephen A's response to this. I was surprised that he was.

I'm sure you are. Well, yeah. I mean, look, I agree with Stephen A sometimes, but I wasn't mad. I was just like, oh, shit, okay. I didn't even know that that was the conversation. People on the Internet are mad that we're not talking about Brett Farv

and we're talking about this and this is people's personal lives and all of that stuff. Look, this is definitely people's personal life and it's not our business. But everything that happens to somebody is their personal life and it's not our business. When somebody gets a DUI,

it's their personal life and it's not our business. When somebody commits a crime, it's a personal life and they're not our business. When you're in a certain light or you work for a certain organization, they are going to make those infractions or those mistakes public to us and then the public is going to debate them it is the way that it goes.

So I don't know what's going to happen in his household. I'm hearing that maybe him and Neil Long have broken up before this. I'm not sure what's going on. But this relationship has been ongoing for some time according to the reports that are out. But until we hear what they say and what he says, I think maybe the conclusion jumping

should maybe just maybe we just pause maybe we just pause. Because I'm hearing that maybe he is saying that maybe he might resign. And he resigns. Yeah. No, what are we going to say?

If he resigns, there might be franchises who fucking fire their head coach. You think see, and he's like, if he resigns, he's going to be off the market so quick. It's interesting you say that because I look at it too. There's suspending him for a year, but he still has the option to have his job.

They haven't fired him. I would think that it's extremely detrimental to him when we already don't see black people in professional head coaching jobs. That it would be hard for him to go to another team after this. Oh, that's not true in the NBA. Black coach is not being hired. That's not true in the NBA. And in other sports, that's a thing. In the NBA...

So a woman says Memphis police fell to investigate her rape. The suspect is now charged in Eliza Fletcher's murder. So here's what went down. A woman who said she was raped last year by the man charged with killing Eliza Fletcher says police in Memphis, Tennessee, did not properly investigate her case and that if they had done so, Fletcher would still be alive. So she is suing the city of Memphis. Her name is Alicia Franklin, and she says that she met the suspect that is charged for Eliza Fletcher's murder. His name is Cleotha Abston. She met him on a dating app last year.

They talked for about a month before they did. decided to meet in person. Now, this is last September. So she goes to meet him at his apartment and she states in the suit that she knew the man as Cleo. They had planned to go to dinner. And so she arrives at his apartment, what she thinks is his apartment. He pulls a gun on her and he forces her into a vacant apartment where he takes her out of the back door. And then she says he raped her in the back seat of the car. She immediately sought medical attention after this. and she immediately reported this attack, this sexual assault to the Memphis police. Now, the lawsuit says that she submitted her forensic medical examination.

And you know that, where maybe you don't know, but with this, as a sexual assault kit, and that's where they gather all different types of evidence, and it includes DNA evidence, if there is any. She gave the name of this man, Cleo. She gave his telephone number. she gave his social media accounts and she gave a description of his vehicle. Pretty much they did nothing. Absolutely nothing.

They didn't even touch this sexual assault kit and all of this evidence until June of this year. Then they determined that the DNA from this matched Cleos, or they didn't even determine that it did until this month, September 5th. And three days after, he was accused of forcing Eliza Fletcher into, his vehicle and we now know that she was later found dead in that STV and he's being charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping. Basically, Franklin's lawsuit is saying that abstin should and could have been arrested and indicted for aggravated rape of her many months. And most likely in 2021 when this occurred and the abduction and the murder of Eliza Fletcher would not have happened

if they did their job. I watched the Jeffrey Dahmer thing last night, which was tough to watch like before you go to sleep, but I did it anyway because I'm not smart. And I'm not going to ruin it for anyone, spoil it for anyone, but there were people that knew. Jeffrey Dahmer had a smell coming from his apartment.

She was on, I think Good Morning America. And the account that she gave should have triggered immediately a statewide manhunt for her alleged assailant. Because the pathology of it was so chilling. They both declined to comment on the case. How could you decline the comment? Like how can you like how could you like how could you decline the comment you have to say something we ask questions whenever we see

abuse we ask questions whenever we see a sort of overreaches of power but this type of investigative neglect like who are these organizations serving

and just to be honest with you, the fact that this sister couldn't get anyone, she was four months pregnant when this happened to her. Oh, I didn't know that part. The fact that this sister couldn't get anyone to listen to her accusation, her claim, what happened to her, cause somebody their life. And it, I can't, I don't have anything intelligent to add to this besides disgust and anger. I don't know what you do.

I don't know. I don't know what the answer is. I don't know what you do. I have no clue what you do. You call it out because what can you do, right? I mean, the lack of regard for black women is really disheartening. And it goes beyond violence against black women. You see it in the workplace when it comes to promotions.

You see it with missing girls. You see it with medical treatment and the health, maternity health, with black women. You see it. You even saw it in the social justice movement. I mean, that's why we had to create the whole thing. We, I didn't do it, but that's why they had to create the whole say her name. Because when you were talking about the names of people who were the face of the social justice movement, it was black young men. They weren't the women. You could name one. Most people couldn't name three women that have been subjected to assault by the police and killed or brutally assaulted. So it's just this ongoing reminder of where black women stand in this country in the

social caste system. And it's really an interesting intersection between racism and sexism, right? race and gender. And I think, and I'm with you, there's really nothing that, I mean, we can do in regards to it other than call it out and bring awareness to it and keep talking about it in the conversation. But because if we don't, just like in this situation, the failure to act on the fact that this young woman was sexually assaulted resulted in something else. And if we don't highlight and demand accountability for what's happening to black women, then it allows people to continue to invalidate their experiences and what they're going through. And so, and it makes black women more vulnerable to this type of treatment. So. You know what we, you know what we, we never talk about because it's, it's tough to discuss.

Because it makes you a little mad. we never talk about how white supremacy affects white people. I mean, I mean, precisely that, like white supremacy isn't just a drain emotionally and a cancer to the black community, to the world at large. Well,

white people can't see is that white supremacy is hurting them in myriad ways. White supremacy and the lack of capitalization into young black minds inside of all young black and Latino minds all over the country, is holding society back, you know. And in this case right here, we didn't really talk about this case until a white woman lost her life. That's just facts.

True. And I am in no way going to politicize her death or make it about something that's grotesque or disturbing to her family. But take a step back and look at what's going on. A woman claims, she was raped in a calculated and brutal way. By someone that like, hey, I'm going to leave now.

Don't move until you hear my engine rev is what he told her. Put a bag over her head so you have to see her face. Like really specific and brutal details and nothing was done. What happened was he progressed. he progressed in his psychosis, in his aggressiveness, and in his criminal action. And the reality is, you know, look,

These challenges, they often target youth. I mean, who else are they targeting?

And of course, this is the FDA saying this. They can harm people and they can even cause death. So the trend that's that's on the rise now is that people are cooking their chicken in NyQuil, or similar over-the-counter cough and cold medications.
