You didn't go high enough. Do it again. Do it again. But sometimes he owns, but sometimes it's just baby. But then sometimes it's baby. Sometimes he goes, okay, man. Baby, you know what I'm saying? Where these niggas be?

I'm so excited right now. I could ask you how your weekend was, but But? Shouldn't I just say, wasn't it a magical weekend? It was fantastic. And I would like to know what you did. Because I feel like people did a variety of things to celebrate this magical weekend.

Oh, I was just saying that Drake. You know what I was saying? Surely that's not all you did. When they were doing all this and all that? I'm not getting to relax. Anyway. No, I'm just very, I'm all jazzed up right now. No, so listen, Saturday morning I woke up.

Okay. And I am walking around, taking my morning walk. It was an eerie morning Saturday morning because they had just rain. Yeah. It smelled very clean. You know what I mean? Rain in L.A. is like almost a religious experience, right? It doesn't happen very often, but, you know.

So I'm walking around and Kalika texts me. She goes, seeing it. just called the race. I'm like, what? She's like, yes. And as soon as she said that, a light drizzle started. Van, I'm not. I'm not doing it.

I swear. But wasn't it like something drizzling from like, I don't know, you walked underneath something? No, it was the rain. It was the tickling fingers of Jesus saying. Cintillating. It was, it was, he was saying, my son, I always told you it was going to be.

Okay. And it hit me. And then after that, the opposite of Jesus happened because Tommy alter called me. So then Tommy calls me. Tommy goes, it's like literally like 9.30 in the morning or something like that. Tommy goes, come over right now. I'm like, okay, so we go over to Tommy's house. We go over to Tommy's house. We're watching on TV. Then we go fuck it. We get in the car. And we start driving all over the city and celebrating with the people on Santa Monica Boulevard. Oh, so you went to WeHo. I did. Tell me what it was like, because I stayed away from it. I'm going to be honest with you. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Oh, I'm mad. I missed it. And we didn't ever get out of the car, but I'll tell you why. It's, there's a difference between knowing you're an American and then feeling like your wife. Good point. So we all know that we're Americans. we know that we're sort of, we are tethered together, we are joined together by the geography of where we were born,

some of the circumstances, but it never really feels like it, right? It doesn't really feel like it because we're all living our individual lives. We all have different ideas about what this country is and how it should go. But then every once in a while, something happens to where you all feel together.

Not all, because there are a lot of people that were upset at the race, with the other way. But at least in this community, everyone was so happy. It's like everybody knew to score. You're looking across the street in someone. They look at you. They smile. You know why. Someone across the other lane is honking their horn. You know why. We're all joined. We feel like we've accomplished something. Something has worked. And it was really a once in a lifetime experience. And to be honest with you, even though I felt way more engaged after President of Obama was elected, like it was, there's nothing that ever really has come close to that.

This was actually even a little bit different because the euphoria, it's like when the fever breaks. Yeah. Yeah. You know, when the fever breaks, obviously you go, Jesus Christ, the fever was terrible, but there's this euphoric feeling of relief at the moment that you're not in pain anymore. Yeah. And that sometimes, it actually, sometimes.

it actually sometimes I wonder if I'm addicted to that feeling, the feeling of damn, I live through it, I beat it, I overcame it. And that's kind of what Saturday felt like. Now, probably not a lot of reason for me to feel that way. There's so much work to be done and these

this is not the dream candidate in any way. But it feels like at the end of the return of the Jedi, it seems like you killed the emperor in a little bit. Okay, I don't know anything about that, but I agree with you. For those people who were like, you know what, there's still so much work to be done, I thought, but today is a day

to celebrate. Can we at least relish in the moment that is? There's history being made with Kamala Harris. We got Trump out of office. There are things to celebrate and there's a sense of hope that we haven't felt in a very long time and especially in this year. I, hearing you talk about your experience makes me wish that I had actually gone out. I had to work on. Saturday so I couldn't, but I got the alert on my phone and then my husband texted me. And I came home. I definitely was like, I got to celebrate. I popped a bottle. I turned on the TV. And then I quickly turned it off because I was like, I don't want to watch news coverage. I don't want to hear them say what Trump is or isn't doing. I don't want them to talk about Trump

supporters. I don't want them to talk about the electoral votes. I just want to take in this moment before I have to get my day started. So I turned off all coverage. When Obama, when it happened with Obama, we found out that night in the moment.

I think I've said this before on the podcast. It was in law school. I was in a room full of other white law students. I left because they weren't having the same reaction as me. And I went down to my room. and my roommate was a dental student, black woman, we hugged each other and we just cried because we felt what was happening in the moment. I didn't have that reaction. With Biden,

I know there are a lot of celebrities who posted crying and emotional. For me, it was more like, it was a sigh of relief. That's how I felt. I felt lighter because I thought, okay, now I know where we're going and now we can focus on how to move forward.

We had an answer. So I just more so felt lighter and a sigh of relief. Right. I understand that completely. You know what's interesting? Hmm. Is I didn't have any problem watching the news coverage,

and I don't have any problem watching the news coverage even now, and I think there's a reason why. I've been able to do something with President Trump that I wasn't even able to do with my first girlfriend. And that was... Move on. I've moved on from Donald Trump. There are still things that Donald Trump is going to be able to do.

There is a lot of bullshit. There's a lot of lingo wrangling. There's a lot of stuff, a lot of noise, a lot of distractions, a lot of stuff to happen between now and January 20th. But you know what? he's an ex I'm not checking Facebook

I'm not asking other friends around how he looked today you know what I mean I'm not looking I have moved on from Donald Trump all I had to know was that there was something

around the corner to look forward to and I was ready to do that and by the way Camelot is not coming to America is not Joe Biden and Kamala Harris aren't going to deliver Utopia to America. But what we have the opportunity

to do is to begin some of the work that we realize that we have to do in this last four years. And we can start now. And we couldn't get it done with the guy that was in office. And I underestimated how much trouble was affected by mental health. Just knowing that he is out of here

and that it's imminent has like been a weight off of my shoulders. Really? Really? Really. I mean, I know you talked about struggling with sleep and stuff. You felt like after Saturday you slept better. Well, I mean, look, the sleep thing is always going to be a deal with me. The dreams I'm having are weird. I dream last night that I was talking to a rapper that had a lizard arm with like spines and scales on it.

And I was kind of afraid that he was going to use the lizard arm. To bite? Not to bite, but like it was the arm of a lizard that he was. was going to freak out because half of his body was like a lizard, even his eye. And we were in a room and I was kind of afraid that he was going to do something with the lizard on, but he never did it. And then when I left the room, we were on the beach. And I was trying to get to this beautiful beach house that was on the beach where me and Kalika were staying. I was trying to get to this beautiful beach house. But every time I was trying to climb up these bars to get to the beach

house, a monkey would stop me. Okay. Van, I'm saying seriously. I'm being serious. I'm being serious. this was the dream. I don't even know where to start with this. And I have so many questions as well. One, who was the rapper? Was Drake? Because you keep singing Drake. It wasn't Drake.

It was like an old school rapper. He had like a, he had like a silk shirt on. Like a silk shirt. But half a silk shirt because the other side was. No, no, no. He had the whole shirt on, but only the half of it. One half was a reptile. Also, it was short sleep.

It was short sleep. So you could see the reptile on. Yeah. Did he have a tail? No, no tail. Oh, okay. So there's just so many questions that I have. No tell. No tell.

Okay. And the monkey? The monkey. So the monkey was a wet monkey. And for some reason, it was. It's true. I'm not even joking. For some reason, I was, when I left wherever the rapper was and was on the beach, I was dragging a boat with me. Like the boat was like a pole, but all of a sudden it could turn into a boat. And I was dragging a boat with me. And I never used the boat. So I checked the boat in and was like, I'm just, going to go upstairs and go to sleep. But it was beautiful. This beach was beautiful. And there were people where, everybody was wet. And there were people around me, right? And I was trying to get up

the little thing. And there was a monkey there. And the people that were by the monkey, they were white. And I was getting aggravated that they wouldn't like take control of their monkey so I could get to sleep. And then as soon as I touched the bars, the scene of the dream switched. And I was on the edge of a cliff with my hands on the cliff doing pull-ups. Okay. Are all your dreams this vivid? Yes. Do you believe dreams mean something? I believe that I have a mental health disorder.

And it presents itself. No, no, no, no. And one of my symptoms is vivid dreams. No. And I think that's what's going on. I think that's what's going on. I have very, very vivid dreams as well. And I'm a person who will wake up and then try to Google

what that means. I mean, come on, Joseph. You know, biblical? I feel like dreams mean something, whether it's something, I don't know if you watched a movie with a monkey or a lizard or maybe you really want a pet lizard.

I'm not quite sure what's going on there. But you should look it up because dreams mean something. Yeah, I don't want to, because see, as soon as I look it up, it's going to be something whack. And then that's just another thing to worry about.

You know what I mean? We should have a segment where we interpret your dreams. I'm telling you. By the way, they've all been weird. I told the acupuncture is this. Because you know what? You know what the craziest thing is?

The acupuncturist asked me. Because the acupunctress was crazy. She looks at my tongue. And she goes, show me your tongue. And I'm like, I show her my tongue. And she goes, oh. Okay, he's writing something down. This she starts writing stuff down.

I'm like, what does my tongue say? She goes, I'll shit you not. She goes, how have your dreams been recently? And I'm like, that has something to do with my tongue? She's like, yeah, you're stressed out. And I can see it on your tongue by the way your tongue is presenting. Like, I've been seeing that a lot lately just because of everything everyone's going through. Are you having super vivid and really layered dreams?

And I'm like, you got to tell me how you knew that from looking at my tongue. And she goes, oh, it's all right here. I'm going to show you. And she was talking to me about Eastern medicine. But she knew it. She could look at my tongue. until my dreams were fucked up. How many times have you been to her?

It's the first time. Okay. I kind of want to go now. I do. It was the first time. It was the first time. But yeah, so it was a really transformative weekend. We actually spent the whole day with my friend Tommy Alter.

I went to his house, watched some of the stuff, came back. And then later on, we went back to watch President-elect Biden and Kamala Harris speak. Rasha said Kamala Harris and President of Biden speak because she was first, he was second. Then, of course, we stuck around for Dave Chappelle's monologue.

Did you watch Dave Chappelle's monologue? I did. What did you did? I thought he held back a little bit. I feel like, I mean, with Dave, you just never know what he's going to do. But I thought it was great.

I thought he was great. I mean, I don't really have too much to say about it. He was fantastic. I was happy to hear that he was doing. the show because I feel like they announced it last week, but I don't really have much insight on it. What did you think? I thought it was good.

I thought it was good. I think, you know, Chappelle always challenges the audience, and he did that, certainly, while he was up there, challenged the audience on a lot of things. I think there's some people that are going to look at him saying, you know, thank God for COVID and things like that and think that those things are incredibly inappropriate to say, given a loss of life. But, you know, Chappelle's up there. He's a comedian.

He's going to poke fun of things. He's going to look at things from a different lens. and kind of that's his deal. Now, so we do want to talk about a little bit the fact that now Biden and Harris are in the transition phase. They actually, just this morning, kind of took the first action in their transition, which was to name their COVID-19 response team.

Now, we haven't had a chance to kind of, you know, We're going to hear more about these doctors and who they are after a while. But it's interesting that they are taking, you know, right away they're going to be, you know, answering some of the nation's questions in terms of how they're going to deal with the coronavirus. Did you see the transition team, the COVID-19, excuse me, response team, the task force? Was that the picture that where he's sitting at the table and looking up? Yes, I did. Well, it just struck me one thing that they're all doctors.

Everyone's a doctor. You don't have the former head of this. you don't have Mike Pence, you don't have any voices in there to dilute the medical expertise coming from the people. They all seem to be doctors. So that's a very, very good sign for me. There's more sort of news in the COVID-19

world that we're going to talk about a little bit later. But I want to ask you as a black woman, what does Kamala Harris as vice president mean to you? I mean, I think that she said it well when she said it in her speech, she might be the first, but she's definitely not going to be the last. And, you know, we talked about black women a lot on this podcast, and we talked about them being, you know, overlooked and underappreciated. So to see a black woman as the vice president, a black woman who possibly has the power, if things go the way we would like to see them go in the Senate, of being the tiebreaker when it comes to making decisions in the Senate, to see a woman who possibly, if, the worst case scenario happens, would have to step into the role as the acting president.

I mean, that is huge to see that. And I, and I have to, I'm glad that Joe Biden stayed true to his commitment of first saying that he was going to place a woman in that role, but then having a woman of color. To me, that's him recognizing the sign of the times and how it was necessary to do that. And I just think it speaks volumes that she's in that role. And I can't even imagine being a little girl and watching TV and seeing that. Because we had nothing like that in our lifetime, not to see a woman as vice president, not in that high of a role.

So for all these little girls who are sitting there and might be watching the TV with their parents or passing by or who know who Kamala Harris is, they have something to aspire to. She gives them hope and she lets them know, yes, you can. So to me, I think that's what's the most beautiful thing is. It means a lot to me as an adult, but I think about what it means for this next generation

to know that it's not. not just a dream. You're seeing it realized now in our country. Yeah, well said. Yeah, that was the most striking thing when Obama was elected. I remember one of my kids, and you know, you're looking at all the, you know, the kids that I mentor and stuff like that. You know, what kids want to be. Every once in a while, one of them tells you that they want to be an engineer just because they think that that's what you want to hear. But, you know, they all want to go play and they want to be athletes and they want to be rappers and, you know. I remember 2009, like early 2009, I had one of them go, well, you know, how do I become the president? And I was like, what?

I was like, yeah, like, how do I become the president? I want to be the president. And I was like, yo, you got to get really good a grade. You got to do. And I just remember being floored because in all of my years working with kids, I had never had someone in that particular, from that particular group, say, hey, I want to be president of United States. You know what I mean? Like, that's what I want to be when I grew up. But it just changes things.

I think that one thing that I've learned between OA and now is that I don't have the luxury to get enamored with political figures anymore. I understand what everything means. But I put my head in the sand for a lot of the Obama years, which were good years for Americans. Don't get me wrong. But we have to continuously keep our eyes on progress

and our eyes on our goals. And it doesn't matter whether politician comes from, we have to continuously make sure that we're holding them accountable for what it was that they said that they were going to do. And maybe some things that they didn't even say that they were going to do. Because governing in America is a fluid situation and so as being an American citizen. So we never know what we're going to need next year. But what we do know is we need people that are going to listen to us when we talk about it. So hopefully they'll do that. I believe that they will. And if like you said, if they win these

two Senate races in Georgia, right now just let you guys know how things stand. It's 48-48 right now with two races in Georgia, those races are Kelly Loughler versus Warnock and Purdue versus John Ossif. So if the Democrats were to win those two races in Georgia, which are in runoffs in January, that would be a 50-50 tie. And then the tie breaker would be the vote of Kamala Harris. Now, that's not an overwhelming mandate majority in the Senate, but it certainly is a city majority, if you count the vote of the vice president. That brings me to something I want to talk about.

okay because there's going to be a massive get out the vote in the next couple of months in Georgia do you plan to be active and trying to get out the vote in Georgia to grab those two seats absolutely

absolutely how can we not yeah it's so important it's so important because we could have not control but tie for the Senate

yeah I mean it's also the difference between grit lock and the functional government right so if you want all If you want all of these things and you don't want, because the president does have some power in terms of executive order,

but a lot of the longer lasting things that you will want in the administration to be able to do, you're going to need votes in the Senate to do it, and it doesn't seem to be very much region across the aisle that a lot of those Senate Republicans are willing to do, so you will want your majority. So it's going to be a dog fight in the next 10 weeks or whatever, or the next eight weeks, whatever it's going to be, for those races down there in Georgia.

That brings me to one person who I want to take, I want to stop in time to recognize. Everybody's talked about it, but I'm going to do it right here right now. And that is Stacey Abrams. We've talked about a lot of times here in America what the black women means to America, right? Yes.

We talked about on this, you know, or we've talked about in other places, what the black women meant to this particular election, right? In places like Philadelphia, Detroit, black men came out, black men voted as well. Black women held it down as the largest voting block and the most consistent voting block in the Democratic Party. In places like Georgia, places like Milwaukee,

places like Philadelphia County. I'll tell you why Stacey Abrams right now, what she did epitomizes what black women mean to America to me, in my opinion. Okay. Stacey Abrams was in a situation. She's been working for the same goal her entire life. And her goal has been the betterment of people. We had Stacey Abrams on and there was a documentary about her.

And so Stacey Abrams not decide to go into politics and not decide to change the lives of the people in her community when she was 25, 30 or 35. Saw Stacey Abrams as a teenager, as a kid. Yeah. making statements and devoting her life to making people's lives better. One, black women spend their entire lives trying to make people around them, trying to make their lives better. Yeah.

My mother spent her entire life. Word about how I was going to have an amazing life. The women around me in my community, when they saw me walking on the wrong side of the street, spent their time telling me which side of the street to, walk home. Miss Linda, my mom's friend, saw me eat a donut off of a piece of a plate that I wasn't supposed to eat. Stop laughing. Stop laughing, Rachel. She saw me eat a donut. This is what Ms. Linda did. This is what happened. My mama had made a plate of donuts for Ms. Linda and told me to take

them over there. She set you up for failure. She sent me up for failure. She sent me up for tell you. I get over there. And right before I get to Ms. Linda's house, I couldn't do it. I popped one of them. And you know, you like, I just see it. I'm visualizing it as you're saying. I popped one of them.

I didn't want to do this. Ms. Linda, Ms. Linda ended up marrying my Uncle Ray. She pulled me to the side. She was like, listen, I got to tell your mama. You know why? I don't want you to be one of these men that can't follow directions. It's going to be very important for you to follow directions. I love you.

But I got to tell your mom, I saw you eat that donut because she told me that you wasn't supposed to eat it. She told you weren't supposed to eat no doubt. I got to tell your mom. Always looking out for it. Always looking out for you. Always instructing you, loving on you, sacrificing for you. St. C.C. Abram started doing that when she was a kid, right?

She gets to a point to where it's her turn, to where all of the work that she's made, all the work that she's done. Everything that she's accumulated in her life, all the accolades, are supposed to pay off. and reward for her. She's supposed to get a seat at the table that she helped build there in Georgia. She's supposed to be the governor. And what happens?

If you're a black woman, America says no. America says, hey, a less qualified, less competent, less with it, less invested white guy, he's going to get this spot. And how is he going to get it? Because it's easier for him

to maneuver things around to get it. He's not going to outwork you. He's not going to outsmart you. Sometimes that guy is not a white guy when it comes to black women. Sometimes that guy's a black guy. Yeah. But they never seem, our sister's never seen to get what they deserve,

to get recognized like they need to get deserved, like they deserve to get recognized, to get anything that they deserve, right? Mm-hmm. Here's a thing. After that happens, do they stop? Nope. No.

They never do. They never do. Do they go while out? Do they, no, no, Stacey Abrams said, hey, I'm in a situation right now to where everyone knows that I was politically assaulted by the other side in an unfair way. It doesn't matter, I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen to the next group of people. And she got with her organization Fairfighter. and she turned out people in Georgia and she worked for it

and she worked for it and she worked for it not for her race anymore her race was over the selflessness the tirelessness and the absolute beauty of purpose of black women

that says I'm just not going to stand for wrong and she turned an American election she snatched a state from the very people who snatched it from her if you telling me that our country doesn't need more of that

there's nothing more American than that if you're telling me our country doesn't need more American doesn't need more of that I'm asking well what the fuck do we need it so I thought about her all weekend long Stacey Abrams. Yeah, well, you're not alone in that because it's one of those things where, you know,

I think a Beyonce song, best thing I never had, because there are times where you want something so bad and you can't understand why it didn't happen for you. But then there's a bigger purpose behind it. I'm not saying Stacey Abrams would be doing what she did if she had gotten the governor's seat. But the fact that she didn't get it and then it fueled the fire for her to create what she has created and hasn't stopped, almost is an even bigger purpose for her because she easily could have run again. And instead, she said, you know what, I'm going to, like you said, not, what happened to me is not going to happen to the next person. And she's still going.

She's raising money for the Georgia Senate right now. She registered, I think it was 800,000 new voters, what she's been able to do. It is remarkable. And then she didn't just keep it to Georgia. What she does with Fair Fight, it's nationwide. what she's doing. And it really, really is beautiful to see. And the key word that you said that really stuck with me and when I think about Stacey Abrams is selfless. Because there are so many other avenues that she could have taken when this seat was taken away from her. She was cheated out of

getting the seat to beat the seat. I keep saying that. She was cheated out of becoming governor. It was taken away from her. And she could have done so much, so many other things. But instead, she decided to take that and give back. And she hasn't stopped. But I do want to ask you this question, though, because I thought about this too. She's done so much for the state of Georgia and just in general when it comes to voter suppression nationwide

and registering people to vote. Do you want to see her stay in Georgia? Or do you want to see her go into the Biden administration and do work from there? I want to see her do whatever she wants to do. as far as where she's most useful I think she has a I think she has a real affinity

for where she's at and she really wants to serve the community where she's at although you never know in terms of it's a hard question to answer because I don't know what she wants to do I do know that

I think right now that she could win the governor's mansion I think that in the future Stacey Abrams will be the governor of Georgia and if that is what she is if that is what she wants to do, then, you know, that's something that she

definitely still has a track for, if you ask me. So I just want, right now, I want Stacey Abrams and the job's not over. Right now, I want Stacey Abrams to know how much we care about her. Yeah. And know how indebted we feel. That's what I want more than anything

that we'll support her whatever she wants to do. And I love that she's leaving her mark too because what her legacy is going to live on because of that documentary that she created as well. the next generation. I'm telling you, they're going to play that in schools. It's going to be a part of courses. That documentary explains so much about the history,

not just a voter suppression, but just black people in their struggle when it comes to fighting for rights in this country. It's amazing. But honestly, Van, as much as great of things as Stacey Abrams has done and continues to do, she's not the real heroin, is she?

No. She's not according to evil. Gordon? No. Listen, this is Dyson. Okay, this is Dyson. Okay. So let me, let me, let me, let me start this off by saying this. When I first got out here to L.A., there was a huge black versus brown war that was going on, right? You said you got here to L.A.? When I first got here to L.A. There was a big black versus brown thing that was going on. I think I talked about this on the podcast before. and fucking the tattoos in his face. And now you don't know which way to go. He turned out to be cool as hell. He used to play basketball all the time. He was good in the post. Good basketball player. But, so I don't, in analyzing what Evalon Gorgia,

I do not in any way want to discount, minimize or cast aside what Latino women have done for the electorate or period. I don't want to do that at all.

I don't. I don't want there to be any division between the two groups of people. Having said that, what the fuck was I even Longoria thinking? Okay. And so if you guys don't know, Ivo Longoria did an interview where she said,

you know, I guess basically what she said was. But I want to talk about what you just said about the women. The women of color showed up in big ways. Of course you saw in Georgia what black women have done. But the Latino women were the real heroines here, beating men in turnout in every state and voting for Biden Harris at an average rate close to three to one.

So if you're listening to that, and I was, you automatically think that what she's saying is black women were out there, but the real heroes were Latino women. I am not a black woman. You are. How did you feel when you heard that? I guess I didn't have the extreme reaction, and this might come as surprise to you,

as the rest of Twitter did and a lot of other people. Because look, I think she misspoke. she has since come out and said what she really meant to say. I think a lot of times when you're doing live TV, you say things and you necessarily, it's not what you intended for them to mean. If you look at the work that Eva Lungoria has done, she has been a huge advocate for Latinos. And really, you know, she has a foundation. She's been involved politically on the nonprofit side in the community.

So I don't expect for her to be advocating for black women, right? she's out there advocating for Latino, for Latinos. She misspoke. The problem obviously is the statement of the real heroines are my group of people. So I understand the initial reaction. But when I saw it, I was like, okay, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. And surely that's not what she means. I think in and when I read her explanation, which she pretty much immediately put out after,

I believe what she was trying to say. It sounded terrible. I'll agree, but I didn't feel like I needed to like rake her over the coals because of the statement that she said. Interesting. Could you read for people what she said she meant? Sure. Just cuss.

My wording was not clear, and I deeply regret that. There is such a history in our community of anti-blackness in our community, and I would never want to contribute to that. So let me be very clear. Black women have long been the, backbone of the Democratic Party, something we have seen played out in this election as well as previous ones. Finally, black women don't have to do it alone any longer. Latinas, many who identify as Afro-Latina, indigenous women, AAPI women, and other women of color are standing

with them so we can grow our collective voice and power. Together, we are unstoppable. Nothing but love and support for black women everywhere. You deserve a standing ovation. Okay. There you have it. What's, what's, what's, go ahead. Talk to me. Talk to me, Van. Look, I, I have no issue with Eva Longoria, you know, zero issue.

Never had an issue with her. I know a lot of people that know her. I've never met her before. I have no issue with her. I just, sometimes I get annoyed how it seems like people be coming out the Saturday night. Yeah. It just gets annoying after a while.

blogzilla that asked her, or was asking somebody else that was interviewing with Gina Rodriguez about, you know, the representation of young black women

and, animation and Gina Riaz jumped in and she said, well, you know, all women. And blog came back and was like, no, black women. Look, allyship is not easy. It's difficult. You have to want it. You have to want to do it. And the one thing that you can't do while being an ally is talk about yourself, right?

The immigration issue in and of itself is an issue where black people have to take a backseat to the wants and the needs of the Latino culture, of the Latino. culture, right? And we're talking about different groups of Latinos who are having issues immigrating and who want to talk about a more open immigration policy. We can't go out there and act as if that's something that we know the ends and outs about because it's not our families that are going through it, right? Right. So in a conversation that was about that, you can't turn around and make it about yourself.

And the reality is that there's no denying the fact. that black women have made up the loudest and proudest group of people for the Democratic... When I say black women, I mean, I'm not even a part of that. I'm a black man,

and we showed up big time. Don't get me wrong. Black women showed up even more than we did. So, stop yeah, budding them. And I'm not saying she was even trying to do that, but I'm saying, stop, yeah, budding black women.

everybody they space. And even a whole thing for me, I get that that's not what she was trying to do. But we do have to acknowledge the fact that that happens to sisters a lot. Yeah, but this is what we're doing over here. Stop, pause,

give them their flowers, let them smell them and then talk your shit. And then we'll do the same on the other side. That's what allyship is. I get it. I get it. But I guess it gets lost. When you start throwing in at Gina Rodriguez, guess she's totally different because when I'm looking at like I've agreed that people should have I agree that

I agree that people should have held Eva Longoria accountable for what she said because the correct thing to say was well let's also talk about how Latino women came out as well and how we came together collectively like what she said in that statement is what she should have said but instead that person who interviewed her said women of color and she separated women of color by just focusing on her own people. And that was told. She said black women, then she came back and said,

but she separated. She put themselves. She put themselves. She put themselves. Yeah. What I heard that I was burnt. I was like, it was a separation.

She did. She put a wedge in and that was a problem. And it was a problem that needed to be, she needs to be held accountable for, which she was. She came out. I, I'm 100% for that.

But I guess I just, I didn't have the strong reaction that a lot of people had. Because I guess I was looking, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, right? Same way you gave me the benefit of the doubt when you saw a picture of me at a Halloween party, surely that can't just be, that can't be the whole story. That's what I did with her.

I thought, surely she misspoke, please let her come out and explain what she said. Surely looking at all the work that she does, that to me is in stark contrast for who she represents. Look, I'll be honest with you. It's all gravy. You know, it's gravy.

It's gravy. It's just, you know, so everybody buys the, sensitivities are a little heightened. It was a disappointment. It was disappointing. Especially coming from her. It's all gravy.

which was brought to my attention they might think that that's CNN logo because it's red with white writing right now I've changed my name on Twitter to not Van Jones but Van Jones but Van Laith And all weekend long, people were taking issue at different things that Van Jones was doing. He cried after the election and people were like, but you worked with him, blah, blah, blah, blah.

And after that, of course, on Saturday night, he confused Beyonce with Mary J. Blige, which... I miss that. You didn't see that? Wait, wait, wait, wait, you didn't fucking see that? Why did he confuse the two? What was the context of the... Kamala Harris walked out to a Mary J. Blige song. He got on TV and said it was a Beyonce song.

And people are like, yo, and by the way, I'll be honest with you. I'd be honest with you. Working with Jared Kushner is one thing. But see, little shit like that, that's the little shit. They all made motherfuckers really go, nah, man, he ain't with us. That's what I said. Mary Jay and Beyonce? No.

And I think a lot of people share that same sentiment. So I'm glad to see it. I think it's progress and hopefully, you know, we can, we can overcome this pandemic that we're in. But I think they're going to have a hard time trying to get people to take this thing.

I think people are going to take the vaccine. Are you? No, I think, I think, I think, well, I'm going to take it eventually. That's two, two for two. I'm going to take it eventually. You need to see some people go through it first. Yeah, but the reality is that, you know, that's kind of how we are in the community. You know, white people will take the vaccine just for a dare.

Don't I mean? Just to see what's going to happen. Like, you think niggas like David Blaine, I don't. going to take the vaccine. He's going to be the first guy that they'll take the vaccine just for whatever. David Blaine. Not everybody is that man. They do.

Anybody who would take a Saturday and go white water rafting for fun when you can drown. You can drown in Colorado just for fun. They'll take a vaccine. So after they take it, they don't grow a third arm, I'll take the vaccine. I expect

Interesting. these are the things that are in my mind. Yeah, I'm telling you. That was it. So there are a couple of things about the vaccine that you need to know. Number one, the vaccine has to be refrigerated, which means that because it requires such intense refrigeration, that there might be parts of the world where it's less likely that you're able to get a vaccine because they're parts of the world that don't have electricity and things like that to be able to get the vaccine.

But it looks like a lot of Americans will be able to get it. Another thing that Pfizer did, which you actually have to give the Trump administration some some credit for is that this particular vaccine was stockpiled in advance in case there was some efficacy form

found to it. So there are going to be a lot of stockpiles of this. Not saying that there's going to be enough to give 340 million people the vaccine on January 1st, but there should be enough.

The challenges in this vaccine are going to be number one, making sure that it's safe, making sure that it's peer-reviewed that these findings from the independent board over there that worked with Pfizer are in fact correct. And then, of course, mobilizing the military to get a dose out to everyone as soon as possible. But if, in fact, the vaccine is 90% effective, that goes way further than what you would really need to stop the pandemic. They were expecting the vaccine.

You know, I think your flu vaccines are between 40 and 60% effective. So if this vaccine is 90% effective for any amount of time, then that's potentially an endgame. So that would be, you know, mind you mental. Here's my question. Like the flu has different strands. COVID does as well, right?

So does this vaccination, is it effective against all strands or just a certain type of strand? I don't know if you know that. I don't. And there, I mean, you know, it's mutating. There's a new mink strand. So like the strand that minks caught over in Europe right now. I don't know how effective it is in terms of that. But I mean, that's all information that we'll know.

Even though even the flu vaccine, they have to change it, you know, pretty, pretty regularly to make sure that it's providing people with enough protection. So we'll kind of see how that goes. they're not actors and actresses, faking relationships just because that's the structure of the show. Or would you rather just let her do her thing, find her man, and let's bring somebody else in who is going to follow the show? Look, interesting question.

Good question. The guys, for the guys that are on the show, it's better that they brought somebody else in because Claire, because now they have an actual shot at finding love on a television game show, which is fucking insane.

So now they have a chance. Now, having said that, to me, the whole thing of her stalking his, I was cool with you. Wow, strong words. I was cool with it. But then she says she's changed.

checking his IG every day. She's looking at his IG. She's getting it's just like, to me, it's not fucking fair. It's supposed to start when they get there. It's supposed to start. COVID happen. I know. I just don't like it.

Okay. That's fair. And then they become, they also become bumbling idiots when they're in each other's presence. It's become, even when they were making the salad at the end, Hey, it's me, Dale. Ha, ha, it's Dale.

Ha, ha. Rescue Rangers, it's me, Dale. Look, it's me. Check it. What are we doing, Claire? What are we making? And it seems like she's about to fucking talk about she's making some lasagna or something. We're making a salad.

You're putting lettuce in a bowl. You're not that excited about it. I'm just being you're not that excited about it. I think that's them. I think that's them. I think you're expecting a lot more, but I really think that's just who they are. I know.

In this particular episode, there were other people who stood out, Canadian Blake. You've been talking about him. Canadian Blake is an obvious in-sell. He, he, Canadian Blake is, to me, there's a,

he's on an air, Trump list of patheticness to me. Canadian Blake is terrible. Everybody else is actually starting to become cooler to me. The only other guy that I didn't like was, what's the do with the tattoos? The guy with the tattoos. Kenny, Kenny, the boy band manager.

Who was continuously making her apologize more. The apology scene when she was up there, apologize. And I actually, my heart went out to her from there because it seemed like she actually cared about the right of rest of the guys felt. Because remember, Claire, not around. cool person. Claire with Dale

Tina Fey Mean Girls. You know, okay, wow. I find it interesting that you don't like Blake when you too kind of have the same sentiment when it comes to it's not fair. It's not fair. That's what Blake continued to express.

So did you in your whole thing. I mean, it sounds like you and Blake might really get along. But here's the difference between me and Blake. I've learned to handle my rejection and tuck it way, way, way deep. You would never even know. If you were Blake, if I was on the show, you know, oh, my God, you'd never know. I promise you, if I was on the show, they'd be like, man, how do you feel about Claire and Dale?

I'd be like, you know what I feel? I feel like it's so amazing that love conquers all. I think, oh, they love you. That I am, I'm actually lucky to have been this close to a situation to where someone actually found true love. It makes me feel like one day, I'm going to look on the other side of my bed and see that queen that I've been waiting for my whole life. So if Dale, if Dale's found that queen and it comes at my expense, I'm happy to have been a part of it.

Boom. And you know what they would say? Congratulations. You're our next bachelor. That's what I would say. That is Bachelor material. That's what I would say. But now that I don't have to do that,

that I'm over on this side of the aisle, it's a bunch of bullshit. And I got to be honest with you. Even though I knew what was happening, I was kind of hoping that Dale didn't propose to her. You were so awful. Did you think that he wasn't? By the way, they air at the show?

Yes and no, because I've never seen the show before. So, you know, I know. But at the same time, you're like, you don't really know. They could be something crazy. But there was, you know, you see it around town and like, you know, they're together. Also, the whole Tasha thing, I'm not very excited for it. Like, they haven't been able to really build the tension and the excitement for Tasia coming in. The little thing when they brought Tasha in,

Tation looked like a deer in headlights for a lot of it. She looked like it, she looks, they managed to make her look overwhelmed. I don't think it was a good thing to tease like she's second fiddle in some way. They tease it as if, oh, do I feel like these guys want me? As if that type of role reversal took a little bit out of the air out of my sales a little bit.

I wanted the guys to feel like they had another, chance of love or bring in all new guys or something. But to have her out there and be like, yo, am I these guys as sloppy seconds? I didn't really, that, I was sad for her in that little time that they did, that little thing. I think that's what they wanted the viewers to feel because

you understood that she does no idea what she's walking into. Are these men going to like me? I'm the complete opposite from Claire in every single way. How do I even know that they're going to be into me? That was a real fear of hers. And I think that they wanted us to feel sorry for her and kind of left us hanging

as to how they're going to respond to her. This is what I think is going to be interesting. You've never seen the show before. This is all you know of the Bachelor, Bachelorette. So you've been basing it off of what you saw go down with Claire and Del. Tasha's going to be a more traditional season. I think you're going, mark my words, you're going to long for the Claire and Dell drama.

Claire and Dale, you think I'm going to long for Claire and Dale to rescue Rangers? No, not them. Chip and Dale. Not Chip and Dale. You're not that you want them, but that type of episode where you're like, what the hell is happening each week? We have no idea. I think you're going to long for the lack of structure versus the structure.

It'd be interesting. We'll see. Yeah. We'll see. I'll tell you what I will, what I won't long for is completely disregarding the rules of the game, okay? And completely disrespecting guys like. Yoda Riley. Okay.

I'm expecting, I'm expecting her to shake it up a little bit to really call these guys out. You know, round them up all in the row and say, hey, are you here for me? or are you here to still be in the show? Because if not, you know, get off. And obviously, guys that are so hurt

by what happened with Claire, they're not going to be there for Tasia. Like Blake, Insel Blake, they might as well get Insale Blake off there. Actually, you know what? Don't get him off there. Keep Insale Blake on the show as long as possible so we can keep an eye on it. We need to know where he's at all times.

They should put him, they should make him, if they really want to protect people in Canada in his community, they should make him the next bachelor. So at least there'll be a block of time. So some woman's going to be stuck with him? No, but there'll be a block of time

why I saw that they tease that so normally you get a reunion well why would we have a reunion for Claire season so it's Claire and Dale coming back to talk about what went down during their season so that night that he stayed over they basically had sex that night

I don't, I can't confirm, but it definitely looked like it. I would say yes. And they hadn't had sex before, you don't think? No. If you had to bet a million dollars on whether or not. They've had sex? I'd say no. Whether or not they had sex before then, you'd say now.

I'd say no. I would not bet a million dollars that they had not communicated. I would not bet on that. Before the show. Before the show. So you think there's a good chance that they communicate? She said it before the show. No, she tells me no.

They always make it seem like the most important thing in the world is friendship. Right? That's not a bad message to put out there. You watch like the Care Bears or like the Rescue Rangers and something like that. And you never hear about the Care Bears talk about where they're going to live,

like what they eat. They never talk about paying a rent or nothing. The only fucking thing they talk about is friendship. It's all about friendship. It's all about friendship. I can do it all because I have friends. I can do all of this because I have friends. And Chip and Dale to Rescue Rangers,

are you my friend? We're friends. It's like they sell friendship. And that's a bad thing. Well, I'm just saying that's not real life. They're kids. It's like in real life, you can't just be all about,

it can't just be, oh, I feel great because even though save by the bell. So you wanted, you wanted Chippendale. You want to Dale to say to Chip, hey, it's the first of the month. Make sure you pay the brain. That's like, They got a, wait a minute.

Think about it, though. Think about it. They got a plane. They got a plane. Chippendale got a plane. Yes, yes. We got to make some money to fix the plane. Okay?

We got to, like, you know what I'm saying? We got to get gas for the plane. This is why a 40-year-old should not watch cartoons. I'm just saying, like, we got to make some glad. But it's all those friendship and adventures. And that's how Clarendale act, Rescue Rangers. Forget about everything else that's going on. And they're on an adventure now.

Forget about everything that's going on. Every other body else's feelings, and there's a whole show about this. Nothing matters more than our relationship. Nothing matters more about it. It's just not realistic. That's why they did a rescue rangers, chip and dale. They're talking chipmunks. Why?

Chip and Dale. What's realistic? They're talking animals. We went to Disneyland, 91. 91. We went to Disneyland. 1999. Two things happened.

And all I could see, the fucking cowboy hat, the top of his cowboy had, was like, goddamn jaws. Okay? It was like jaws, parting through the line.

Partist. he came and he grabbed me by the back of my neck and he walked me out and I thought I was going to get I thought at least he waited to the parking lot I thought he at least wait until the parking lot how long did he wait he like he like what we got to the we got outside of splash mountain he was like see see try to take you out to Disneyland it's a nice new for you or disobey me and all of a sudden and all of a sudden you heard these Disneyland employees who were not even about to challenge my fucking father. They weren't even about to challenge my father at all. You can look at them and tell. Please don't do that in the park, sir. Please don't do that now. What, what, what, what, whack, whack,

I didn't get hit that many times, maybe like three times. Okay. So Disneyland is over. There's no more Disneyland. The Disneyland is done. We are walking back. And as we're walking out, now, we hadn't seen characters all day long, which was bullshit to me. Because when you go to Disneyland, they tell you that the characters are just supposed to be out chilling.

Every time you see a commercial Disney. You see me. And every time I go now, I see him. I see them just walking around the park. But we didn't see any that day. And I remember what we were. leaving. My dad who will who will whoop your ass and then be over it

one moment after, right? My dad will catch whoopings at home and I'll be sitting right there crying and my dad would be like, hey, look at Michael Jackson. You know what I'm saying? And so we're leaving, right?

And as we're leaving, I'm crying, I'm doing a... And my dad has still got his hand on me. He goes, oh, look boy, there go some of the people right there. Look at him, look at him, son. Boy, look at the. goddamn people. And I look over there and was it

Mickey? Was it many? Was it Daffy? Not Daffy. Was it Mickey? Was it Minnie? Was it Donald Duck? Was it any of the starters? Was it even fucking goofy? You know who it was?

Who? It was Chip and Dale. The motherfucking rescue Rangers. You think I got my ass wits. And we drove all away so that I could see Chip and Dale. The fucking rescue Rangers at Disneyland, no fucking way.

Did you take a picture? No. No, I didn't take a picture. I'm not taking a picture with the goddamn rescue Rangers. Like, no, no way. You know what I'm saying? Like, you come out of a Disney. I didn't know that they walked around Disney.

That's who it was. It was Chip and Dale. And so I have a special distaste in my heart, for the rescue Rangers, and now same place clear in DLR. Okay. I hope they're in love, though. They seem very happy.

They do. They do. All that being said. Right. They seem very happy. All right, listen, guys, so bad. We have this national nightmare over.
