So I went and got red laser therapy on the hair this morning. And so that means I had to take the 101. So it was all types of gloom and shit. I noticed it.

Traffic? Not bad. It's kind of bad. But I like driving through Hollywood. Hollywood used to be my old shit. I used to meet the homeless guy that would call me nigger every day. But nigger was the way that he spoke, though. What did he look like?

So you never heard him say any other word. I heard him say, give me my stuff, but nobody was trying to take his stuff. One day, one day he was, one day, this was the day that Michael Jackson died. It makes me wonder, I mean, I know DeSantis has pretty much talked about what he would do, how he would govern over the military. Terry, you know, when he was laying out his plan when he was running for president. But it'll be interesting to see, will he be, is he a Trump loyalist?

Will he fall in line in the way that a Hegg Seth would have or Gates would have? That's, that's the interesting question to me. Is there a better option that Trump could look at or turn to that could really do what he wants and, you know, pledges allegiance to him? I don't know if DeSantis would do that. Well, I think that Trump feels like once you've bent the knee, the knee has been. But that's what I'm saying. Is him accepting the nomination bending the knee?

The thing is, is that he's in a vulnerable position, because if he doesn't do what Trump wants him to do,

that other people don't get because of the absurdity of South Park. Sure. I think there are a lot of people who as sensitive as black Americans are made out to be. for things. I think there are a lot of people who get a lot of different passes

for making jokes about race, making observations about race. And we only kind of talk about the passes that people don't get when we're actually upset about something. The raping of Kendrick Lamar and the

fucking of Kendrick Lamar, all of that stuff, that was just icing on the cake. I'm not even talking about that. What did you think about his criticism that that Dot is in no place to criticize him because of rap, because of the Trey Parker and Matt Stone thing, because of all that. Like, fucking insane because I don't think people at TMZ understood the full scope of who Mary and Barry was in his life and what Marian Barry meant to D.C. So they were going nuts, crazy. They loved Mary and Barry. They talked about what Mary and Barry had done for the city, what Mary and Barry

had done for black people. And so I went on Twitter and encouraged them. I'm like, hey, if you don't like what TMZ did, keep voice in your opinion. Harvey called me and me and him went at it, right? And this is way pre-Kanya. Me and him went at it. And he said, you know what I'll do?

Rather than us have this conversation here, a lot of people are upset. I'll give you the opportunity to voice this opinion on the show, which if you're there, it's the only thing that you can ask for, right? The only thing that you can ask for is to be a voice for people who feel like that was fucked up, right? And that was the mutual respect,

but having to wear everything that like, like your platform does is something that's a little triggering to me. So if you guys hear me talking about, yeah. And I'm sure that there have been, there have been situations that I may have been in where, you know, like I didn't say anything in the moment, which is my point.

come here and you have the space to talk about it whatever it is that you feel and let's have this conversation because I think that's an interesting perspective too of what do you do in those moments

to him in other spaces. He might have known who he is. Now there's a deeper understanding of who he represents, whether you like it or not, it's attention. Some people think bad publicity is still great publicity.

He says that Kendrick's using him, for clout, but the reason I said this is the best thing that could happen for him is because it gives him the opportunity, which I asked last podcast, is he responded? Because I knew he would. You know, of course he did. This is an opportunity for him to use this for something to make

himself get more attention, which he is. And I don't think he cares how that attention looks. Andrew Schultz doesn't care about offending black people, about offending black women. I don't think he cares about offending

anybody unless it's something that is personal to him. And this just reiterates it. I actually feel like I said everything I needed to say in the last podcast. And sadly, and not surprisingly, it still reigns true. This could have been an opportunity for him to say, not to bend the knee in any kind of way, but just acknowledge like obviously that lyric is about him. Maybe an agree-to-disagree situation he could have said, but the point is he's still could have acknowledged that this is an issue that offended a lot of black women and he could

have taken the opportunity if he cared to say, you know what, maybe I was wrong in this or maybe I was out of line, but he didn't because he doesn't care. He thrives in this. He loves the attention that he's getting from this. And to use a very, like, to use a comparison of rappers in general to how Kendrick is, and I'm not saying that Kendrick hasn't called women, in his lyrics because in the past he has. Calls women bitches on G&X? So I'm not giving Kendrick a full pass, but to equate Kendrick and the way he is with black women

to the entire rap industry is a bad argument. And that doesn't make sense. It doesn't. It doesn't. I'm not saying he hasn't said things, but to say, oh, well, how dare you say something when all rap does this? That's not, that's a faulty argument.

Okay. So this is what I'll say. obviously Andrew he won't apologize he won't be it's not part of it right he's he's in his villain era right now I don't think he error well this is what I mean so hear me out he's in his he's in his villain era right now he can't show any weakness is not a part of the comedic brand that he's cultivated he won't you attack you attack back you can't we have Roy Woods on here right you can't apologize for the jokes he said it even with the guy that called

Puerto Rican's trash on it. You can't apologize for the jokes. Sure. Somebody comes at you. Flagrant, they're the asshole army. They're flagrant. He has got to double and triple and quadruple down on whatever's happening, right? Because once again, he's defending his right to make a joke.

This is what I would say about what he said. He ventured into white boy trickback territory like nothing else. This is my... For sure. So Kendrick is a rapper. Kendrick decides he wants to stand up for black women, for whatever reason. What essentially came back was you're not qualified to stand up for black women because of look at you. Because you are with a cohort of people, rappers, who in the past have been bad to black women.

That argument is used anytime black people, Stand up for themselves in any way. Sure. There's time before it is. Radio disc jockey named Don Imus. Don Imus called, I think it was the Rutgers basketball team, some hardcore hose, some nappy-headed hose. He said hardcore, and then he said they were nappy-headed hose.

So we didn't like that. We didn't like him calling that group of women nappy-headed hose. Right. So we're like, oh, my God, Dynamis, Dynamis, Dynamis. It took five seconds before everyone went, aided by the Jason Whitlocks of the world, that hip-hop talks about women like this all the time. So why are you upset when Don Imus does it, right?

Because there is a purity test that black people have to pass before they defend themselves. That is a way to keep them from defending themselves, to equate a black person with the worst version of what you feel a black person is culturally is a way to say as long as you're with that,

you can't say anything about what we're saying, right? Kendrick ain't never made bitches ain't shit by holes and tricks. Kendrick has never said any of that stuff, but he is a rapper. Rapper say those things. He is inherently connected to the worst lyrics amongst his industry because he is with him. So he's not good enough to want to defend black women.

That trickback, whether or not Andrew knows it or not, has been used decade after decade after decade on black people. Right now, if I got on here and used a whole bunch of stereotypical Italian American terms, right? Italian Americans would be mad. I couldn't tell them that it's actually David Chase's fault that I look at y'all like this. It's actually Francis Ford Coppola's fault that I look at y'all like this. It's actually Martin Scorsese's fault that I look at y'all like this. I couldn't say that this is how you've been portrayed in popular culture and these guys who have portrayed you are prominent Italian Americans. So since you're involved in that portrayal, I get to say,

and do whatever I want about your culture, I get to do that. I couldn't tell them that because in the other America, they define how they're respected no matter what it is that you do to them. No matter what it is that you say to them, no matter how they come across,

you have somebody with Mountain Dew mouth, literally with Mountain Dew mouth in the Appalachians, drinking Mountain Dew, the whole time fucked up, inbred Havsburg's jaw, the whole nine, telling you what place you belong in in America. And so what I'm saying is this,

How about him? I don't know that, nigga. They love Dion. Dion is doing so much work with young black males. We got to have at least two guys that cannot be besmirched when they try to defend black people. Black women are black people?

Black women and black people. Then Coach Primes out. How's Coach Prime out? Did you not watch their reality show? What about it? A lot of people felt like he was disrespectful to his wife, has some sexist, misogynistic views

when it comes to the man, woman, dynamic in a relationship. That's why I kind of bucks if you're talking about just speaking black on black people, and if he's doing great things with young black men, sure. But I don't know if I would nominate him as the one who can only speak

on behalf. I'm talking about two white people. When Coach Prime speaks, white people are mesmerized. Guess who else white people are mesmerized by? Who? Emmanuel Acho. No, no, no, no. No, but that's why I'm like, what is the criteria? Yes, they are. Yes, they are. But niggas don't fuck with him now.

the purity that we need to be able to defend black women. I don't. Other niggas that do it don't. We don't have it. Kendrick Lamar don't. We don't have it. But we can't just eat shit every time the women

in our orbit tell us that they're upset. Jason Wilson, Coach Prime, India I read, Bala Davis. Rachel, you can't do it. Because you was with a cocazoid

And we go, no, criminals are doing killing. but I am a black young man that goes to school back and forth every day, and I'm not involved in any criminal activity. Criminals are doing criminal things in communities, but the police are supposed to be my outlet from the activities of those criminals. And you're telling me, unless I can get criminals to stop doing criminal things, I can't ask the police not to kill me.

He's the CEO, United Healthcare. The New York Kilton on 6th Avenue. just before 7 a.m. It's busy. NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch said the situation is a brazen targeted attack that does not appear to be a random act of violence.

They were sure to say that because they did not want people to think that they could not come visit Manhattan without being randomly shot in the back. $10,000 reward with a shooter. Everybody has seen this.

and knows about this before. I'm not going to bog people down with the details. Rachel, what is the biggest takeaway that you've seen from this situation? I mean, you have to say what was on the bullets because that goes towards it. Go for it. I mean, as we're getting reports coming in and updates, one of them is that the bullets that were fired at Brian Thompson had the words written on them, deny, defend, and depose.

That is from a book from 2010 that was condemning the insurance business. That's the takeaway right there. I wasn't aware of this until I started doing research that because there was a former security officer of the CEO who was shocked

that Brian Thompson was in New York without any kind of security. Because United Health Care and Minnesota has been subjected to protests related to the epidemic of claims denials from United Healthcare. Demonstrators have come from all over the country, head court, like Minnesota, which is where it is, Illinois, Maine, Texas, West Virginia, and New York to protest outside their corporations because of the lack of health care. So when you ask me what the takeaway is and what the message, this is why it's so

scary. It appears he was executed in the name of health insurance and the crisis that this country is facing when it comes to health insurance. We so often, particularly in this election, talk about the economy. We talk about inflation, but the health care crisis might be bigger than all of those. I know, but when we were talking about the election, those seem to be the things that people were talking about. Most of it maybe you, and there's an argument that could be made that the health care is wrapped up in that. But the fact that what people have to pay for premiums, the report that came out with Anthem, which is the insurance company that is with SAG, I don't know if you have SAG health insurance, but I do. It's Anthem. The fact that they're

rolling back things related to anesthesia, not necessarily in California, but in three other states, the health care industry is bad. And people either can't. afford health care. And if they have health care, they still can't even afford it because the premiums are so high. And this, the scary part is, just to reiterate it, is this is a message for the health care industry. And it's, and we've talked about, you know, the, the disparity growing between the haves and the have-nots and people taking matters into their own hands because they are so frustrated with the state of industries. That's exactly what this was. This was a appears to be an execution in the middle of Manhattan

of the person who runs the fourth, I believe, largest company, Fortune 500 company, where people feel like they are under attack where a health care system that is supposed to prioritize the patients and health care needs is instead prioritizing profit instead of them and sacrificing the patients in the process. This was a message to them.

Do you know what the biggest takeaway from me is? What? First of all, we don't know why this guy was killed. We don't, but the bullets say something different. The bullets, the message being written on the bullets could be a way to throw us off. Of? Or from?

The actual reason that he was killed. There are a million reasons that somebody could get hit like that that's in that situation. There could be a million reasons. It could be something. completely personal. It could be something that has to do with some type of deal that's been made

from somewhere else. It could be all kinds of things. It could be a disgruntled employee, all kinds of things. The two things that have, that I've watched with great interest over the last couple of years

were the Ocean Gate disaster from last year or maybe earlier this year where the guys got crumpled in the submersible and then this in terms of how people are viewing the halves in society. The Ocean Gate disaster is as horrible a way that you

as you can die in terms of something like that. Like Americans are dying of cancer all the time and I think a lot of these health care people are aiding that. Americans are dying of starvation. Americans are dying of all kinds of things. But one of the scariest things that could happen to you

can be at the bottom of the ocean and you crumple when you die. The lack of compassion that came out when that happened, I wasn't critical of it. I was just, huh, these guys are rich. They were fucking around doing something that was rich. They died, learn lesson, we don't care. This guy was executed in,

Manhattan by a determined gunman. Everyone's seen the video, the gun jammed. He calmly cleared the jam. Like, anybody that's been anywhere near the streets knows that if somebody is letting loose and they shit jam up on them, they out. They're not going to take the time to clear the jam. A lot of times it's because somebody is shooting back.

but if your shit jam, if you're out there and you're fucking around and you're using a high point, that bitch's gone jam on you. And once it jams, we done. We out of here.

It seemed as if people, it was going around as if, and even if it wasn't done after the shooting, then you would think that you would pull that down after somebody's being killed. I'm not on here in any way saying, I'm not judging people or amonishing them. I'm not at all.

But what I'm saying is that if you want examination, of how Americans feel about the income inequality, the inequality in services, the inequality in experience, about how they feel right now about the ruling class, that is the most direct, eat the rich indictment that I've ever seen. said that on one of the group chats I'm on. That is, it was a shocking reaction. I'm not judging anybody for the reaction. I don't get into making moral judgments about people. But when I saw it, I was like, a CEO dead, good. That's what I saw. You know what, though, even if, to your point,

if he was killed for, let's just find that he has gambling debts or, you know, I don't know, it could be anything. It could be anything, right? He was tied to something else. Somebody was taken out. It was a vengeance thing because of something unrelated to health care. No matter what, I think the message still stands. I don't think people, even if it came out, he was killed over gambling debts.

I still think people are going to look at this as a message to the healthcare industry, coupled with what Anthem just did in rolling back the amount that they will cover if anesthesia goes over a certain time. they are arbitrarily going to set the time of what they think your anesthesia, or how long they think your anesthesia should be for. And if it goes past that, you're on the hook for it. Which, in turn, obviously they're doing that to save money. It's going to affect anesthesiologists. You're already with an industry where it is projected that you are going to have a shortage of like 80,000 doctors by the time we get to 2036 or something like that or 56.

I can't really remember the exact number. 36, looking at it, by 2036. So you're already not getting as many medical professionals, and there's questions about whether or not you're getting the best care for medical professionals because of issues like this. What anesthesiologist is going to feel like, going to want to go into a room when they feel like they have their hands tied because they might not get covered for their work or the patient might not be able to afford it. I think that this, no matter what comes out in the wash is a message to the healthcare industry. The question is, do they care?

My point is that the current climate is not sustainable. Correct. In health care? No, I'm talking about all over. Healthcare is one of the fastest ways that Americans go broke right now. They go broke because they're sick. They go broke because they have cancer. James Vanderby.

And we've been talking about health care for a very long time. And we can't seem to get anyone with the Cajonais to take on the health care industry in a robust way. ACA was a godsend for many Americans. I'm talking about Obamacare, though. Forble Care Act. It was a godsend for many Americans. But part of this is on the people.

And I'll tell you what I mean. No one likes to hear this part of it. People don't vote to see. They vote for a different wool to be pulled over their eyes. Like the Democrats pulled the same wool over people's eyes for so long that it got worn out. And then you can see through it. And so what people voted for in the last election wasn't for freedom.

It wasn't for health care. It wasn't for all that. It was for a different wool. For a wool that was a little bit more opaque, that smelled better, that was a little bit more stylish, came with a different flair that made them feel a little powerful.

They just voted for a different wool. They didn't vote to solve this problem. They didn't vote to solve any of those problems because those problems aren't solved by giving tax cuts to the rich. Those problems aren't solved by tariffs that raise prices on things. Those problems aren't solved by people who are tied to the healthcare industry. Those problems are solved with policies that put people first and corporations in their place. Not corporations last.

They put people first and corporations in. in their place. If you ask me, if you have a healthier American society, then you have people who are more productive. You have people who can do different things. You have people who can go and spend money in different places and not on treatments and all of those things. But this lobby and this industry is so big

that no one really seems to be interested in that. And what I think you're seeing politically is people that are so angry, so, they're so at the end of their rope if they just want to see somebody hurt as bad as they're hurting. Guy gets shot in his back. Don't matter who gets orphaned.

Don't matter, like, who gets traumatized from watching it, don't matter what happens to them. They want to see somebody hurt as bad as what they're hurt. And when you're at that point, you've actually gotten to the point to where either you've stopped looking for solutions or you think that is the solution. And that's something to take to stand up and take notice of. Yes.

And like the whole knot, that's fascinating to me because my friendships have been around for so long. I know how to press these niggas buttons. I know how to support them. I know all of that. You guys are definitely super supportive of one another.

But y'all little shit is, it's like watching a TV show. Well, that's, it is like watching TV show. And that's why it's the sex in the city crew, because there are four distinct personalities in the group. I don't have another friendship group that's like that group. I just don't. And, like, there's positives and negatives to it. I love the crew, though.

Because I feel like, you know how people say in L.A. It takes three to five years to find your friend group. We found it in the crew. But there are different dynamics and it gets hot and cold. And things have been kind of going sour between the two guys. Should it be somebody else's car. We are not the crew for that. Nobody in our crew, there's not an alpha in our crew. We all have different things that we play. I'm not going to tell Ian what to do. Ian not going to tell me, Ryan, Trey, whatever. It's not going to happen.

Okay. So Gino refused. They fought. Mm-hmm. Okay. We realized right there that we didn't want to have no fighting in our crew. Because things were weird for a while. right, a long while.

We didn't want to have things go to that point. So we learned a different way of conflict resolution that didn't involve going to them hands because when you're dealing with niggas, we will fight. Okay. And the fact that we will fight means that we let certain shit go that sometimes I feel like female friend groups don't let go. Agreed.

Like we, like, it'll, it'll get to a point to where, like, a nigger says something to you, and it gets to a certain point that you like, fuck it, what's up? And I feel like because women don't fight as much, that sometimes things last longer. I think if women fought, there would still be an issue. They would still do that. If there was the threat of the fight. No, I think if women fought, it would still be an issue. And I, and I'm, I'm, I'm, this is a generalization, because I am actually not a grudge holder. I'm a person who if there's an issue,

I want to talk about it right now because I don't ever want to talk about it again. That's me. I have had to learn that not everybody handles conflict resolution in that way. And so I have to be patient and be considerate of other people's needs

and how in order to maintain a friendship, relationship, whatever it may be. I don't, I find it exhausting to hold grudges. I find it exhausting to harp over the same situation over and over again. I'd rather just, I'll either be like, I don't really care. which offends people I have learned.

But it's really not that big of the deal. But the fact that I'm not holding space, new term everybody's using, for their feeling, they get mad about that. So I've really, I'm not that person in the friendship group, but yes,

I still think if women fought fist fought, there would still be issues. I'm not saying that women. How you fought, who won the fight, whether, like, all of that stuff falls to the wayside.

Because, like we've had some there have been some fights that have happened in the crew. Like Emin and Ian had a fight. Eminie and brothers. Brothers. Brothers. Brothers.

Brothers. They had a fight. And, you know, there's some thoughts about. What? So, everybody are going to be mad about this. But this is the single funniest thing that's ever been said.
