Starting point is 00:00:01 Yo, yo, yo, thought warriors. What is up? Howe learning is on. It is I, Van Lathen, Jr. And we don't have Rachel Lindsay today. I am checking in with you guys to let you know that we will not be doing a full episode of higher learning today as Rachel is attending to some very pressing matters. When we be back on Monday. And when Rachel is ready to talk about what she is attending to, we will talk about it.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Okay. Everything is okay. The podcast is okay. Everything is fine. It's just we are people that love one another and sometimes life, lives, and we have to deal with it. That's all we are prepared to say about what's happening right now. I'm in the Bahamas right now down here doing some work with the players of alliance, Major League Baseball situation. You know, I've got to moderate a panel to do whatever. Donnie, where are you at? Where are you at, Donnie? I'm at home. I'm at home. At home. At home. At the Springs. Yep. We got no Ashley.
Starting point is 00:01:08 You got what now? We got no Ashley. Ashley isn't with us either right now. Ashley's gone too. Ashley's out. Yep. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Doing something quirky somewhere to quirk queen. Look, here's the thing. This is an interesting opportunity that we have, being that we have like a bite-sized podcast and not even a podcast for real. We're not going to be on here longer than a couple of minutes. We just wanted to tap in with you guys. This is a tap-in, a tap-ty-tap. I sort of let you guys know what was going on so you didn't just wake up because sometimes I'm going to be honest with you Donnie.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Sometimes we aren't as communicative with the audiences we need to be. You know, we'll be putting the podcast out later or it won't be on the schedule of time and then they'll just pop up and people will be blaming you for that shit. You ready to take accountability right now? I know I am not actually because that is a programming issue. I'm going to blame the programs. There has been some. real, real hectic behind the scenes, technical things that have been going on with the pod. And we appreciate the thought warriors having the patience and standing by with us.
Starting point is 00:02:12 And then clicking as soon as the podcast is available and listening and then giving their feedback as usual. But yeah, we appreciate y'all bearing with us with Megaphone and Spotify having some really annoying issues in the past few weeks. I'm not going to take the claim. I'm throwing the program under the bus. Donnie pass the buck beecho. Sweet booty's out. That's it. Donnie P.T.B.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Pass the buck beach. I can't believe you just did that, bro. Hey, they actually had some ring to it too. It's all about the alliteration. It's the buck in the beach and past the bug beatcham. I'll take that shit. I'll take that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:54 All right. So look, here's the thing. So this is probably what we would have talked about on this podcast, which you guys, it will only lead to a more. informed pod on Monday okay because we'll have a whole weekend to stew over this stuff probably would have talked about the Republican debate
Starting point is 00:03:13 that happened Donnie know you've seen this yeah yeah I have seen that we probably and we'll talk about one of the best headlines I've ever seen which is from the Jonathan Majors case which is ongoing in New York right now which
Starting point is 00:03:29 Jonathan Majors has been accused or according to testimony from his estranged the girlfriend that is the victim in this crime, the alleged victim. It's been alleged that he asked her to act like Michelle Obama and Coretta Scott King. Donnie, did you see that? I did see that. See, that was something.
Starting point is 00:03:53 The Jonathan Major's case was something that thought Warriors we were planning on touching on once we had more info coming out of the trial. but I feel like that is something that had to be, has to be addressed on the pod, ASAP, is wild. I love it. I love it. By the way,
Starting point is 00:04:10 I don't want to ruin the take because I want to save the take for Rach. David. Because Rach, she has to be involved. And I want to save the take for Rach. That's one of my favorite headlines all year. That's one of my favorite headlines all year.
Starting point is 00:04:24 And it's, you guys, it's not going to be still. I'm going to get to it on Monday. You're going to get it on Tuesday. I cannot wait. Look, we're going to talk about the House resolution condemning anti-Semitism, what that means. Why that is something that the House felt like it needed to do, what it means politically, what it means socially.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I think it's one of the more interesting things I've ever seen before, both in function and in spirit. I'm just tickling you guys right now. I'm just tickling you with some of the things that we're going to talk about. And we're going to do something else, Donnie. We're going to crown somebody. Okay. Is this the top five you're talking about? You're teasing the top five?
Starting point is 00:05:06 No, I'm not teasing the top five, but thank you for putting it out there. Yeah. Thank you for putting it out there. Next week is the first iteration of my top five list, which I'll be doing every week. And based off of the Quincy Jones conversation, we're going to do a top five. And that top five, the inaugural top five is going to be the top five milkman of all time. because we talked about Quincy Jones. And a lot of people were saying that there were actual milkmen who,
Starting point is 00:05:36 like a white woman more than Quincy Jones. And so I was like, I never heard of these guys, not quite like Quincy Jones. And then I looked and historically, there are some historic milkmen out there. We're talking about guys that never saw something white that they didn't like. This building behind me is white. they would stick their dick in this building. All right. So what we're going to do next week on the top five,
Starting point is 00:06:03 top five milkman of all time. White is right, milkman, top five of all time. Don, do you have any nominees? I do. I thought about this.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I'm going to throw out some, you got Sammy Davis Jr. Ooh, he might be on the list. You never know. Yeah, yeah. RG3 is a potential. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:24 That's a potential. But see, I will say, this, the thing about the RG3, and this is the entire conversation that we have to discuss is, is it sheer numbers of milk? Yeah. Is it numbers? Because is it numbers or is it how hard he's gone for his version of white women?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Because I can look at guys, because if you get one white woman and you're so down for her that it makes you look kind of crazy, that's one version, right? But I could also argue that if every five to 10 years you popping up with a new white, then that puts you in maybe more so because of the consistency. That's a good point. I think the reason I put R2 three on that list is because when I, when you proposed this as a top five, he was the first person to pop into my mind.
Starting point is 00:07:18 So I feel like there is some credence there, at least with my list. So what you're saying is you think white women and you think, RG3 so boom you're ready to go exactly regardless of track record or if it's just him going hard for his one I feel like he he has a place on this list on my person okay okay yeah give me one more give me one more to swimming around in in that chrome dome you got uh frederick douglas oh this one is a tough one but uh I it crossed my mind the way that historically his relationship with his first wife after she passed. And there were, I guess, speculative rumors that are historically and biographical speculative rumors that he was involved with white women during his relationship,
Starting point is 00:08:06 his first marriage with his black wife. And then when she passed away, his second wife was Miss Pitts, I believe was her last name. And that just feels like a, that's a historically significant situation. We're talking late 19th century. This is as, I feel like there's a place there because of the historical context of it and him being a titan of black history. Gotta go with Frederick Douglass. Okay, Donnie, I don't know if Frederick's going to make the list, but I'm telling you right now, I'm going to workshop this list with everybody that's here in the podcast. And you're a controversial motherfucker for wanting to put Frederick Douglass on that list. I'm just letting you know, Donnie.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I'm just saying, this is an early list. We're workshopping it. We're workshopping it. It's just this is, this is an early, early, early, early. That's crazy. I'll tell you one thing right now. There's a method of thinking that says if you're half white, you can't really be a milkman. There is a, that that's a decent point.
Starting point is 00:09:10 I hadn't thought about that. Because you just really, you know, your mama or your dad, you just, it's kind of a thing, you know. Yeah, part of you. We're going to run, guys. We want to give you a little bit of this. the sound of our voices and we want to also say this. We love Rachel, support Rachel. We are here for Rachel.
Starting point is 00:09:34 And we always are going to make sure that this podcast is holding space for whatever the podcasters are dealing with in actual life and in podcast life. Okay. So that's the thing. We realize how much you guys like checking in with us. So we wanted to make sure that there was a little bit of a check in with you guys. And we want to make sure that, you know, we don't just, hey, there's no podcast today, whatever. We look at the sky behind me. I got like a Donnie like background.
Starting point is 00:10:11 We want to make sure that you guys know how much we care about you. So me and Donnie decided to jump on and give this. Oh, before we go, one other thing that's happening. We're calling our inaugural on Monday, Tuesdays podcast, inaugural, Niggas of the Year. Okay, so time has the person of the year, and this is the first time that we're going to do, the higher learning niggas of the year.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Okay. And this is just, it's an inescapable thing. These are people that I can't escape. They're everywhere. There's nothing you can do about it. We are brutalized with their ratchitiveness. We've been pummeled with every aspect of their life. It doesn't seem like there's any end in sight as things continue to escalate.
Starting point is 00:11:11 And it has to be acknowledged, studied, and rewarded. That'll be on Monday. I want everybody to think of who it could be. but I'll just give you one more hint. I'm oftentimes when I see our inaugural recipients, I mystified. I am entertained to the deepest levels, which I'm not sure why.
Starting point is 00:11:39 And I'm just blissfully confused at how we got here. And it must be discussed. It must be discussed. Donnie, your thoughts on first inaugural How to Learning Niggas of the Year? Well, first of all, that was a hell of a tease. I feel like there are people
Starting point is 00:11:58 who are, they could be taking what you just tease and could maybe decipher exactly who we're talking about. I feel like, yeah, but that's a good tease. There's a few candidates. I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:12:12 I have a fascination. I wouldn't say fascination. It's like I can't look away when it comes to these future niggas of the year. Something about them, you, I don't actively try to avoid it. I don't have like blocks or anything when it comes to them online.
Starting point is 00:12:29 But when I'm scrolling and I see a familiar face or a familiar smile, I, uh, yeah, I click. I want to hear. I'm curious. Then I'll share it with my wife. She does not care. She doesn't want to hear. But I have to,
Starting point is 00:12:44 I feel like I have to share, uh, updates on what's going on. with these people. So it's facts. All right, you guys, we're going to see you next week. Higher learning is off the air for right now, meaning that we'll see you on Tuesday. Donnie, take the pink caps off, but do not stop learning.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Rachel, we love you to death, sister. To death, we love you. So much. All right, we'll see you guys.
