Donnie, we don't have time for pleasantries.
Take it away.
All right, let's get into it.
We talk a lot about therapy in the conversation with TK.
So I feel like a good way to set that up is to talk about YG's new song, 2004,
which came out over the weekend.
In the song, he talks about being sexually abused as a teenager.
And in the video, he's rapping to a therapist talking about his past.
Did you guys listen to it?
What did you think about YG's new song?
Listen to it, watch the video.
But obviously when the song came out, I thought about you.
Because we've talked about these conversations on the podcast or the lack thereof.
And so I would defer to you because you've expressed how you've gone through experiences with your friends where they'll say something.
and you're like, hey, wait a second,
like that doesn't sound like that's something to brag about.
That actually sounds like you were assaulted.
And so for somebody, and we've had other black men come out
with public platforms and talk about their experiences as a minor with women
and being taken advantage of and assaulted.
But YG and who he is and what he represents,
he's not the person that if they had experienced it,
I would have thought, wouldn't have not just admitted it,
but come out with the song and video speaking directly to it,
which I thought was very powerful,
but I'm going to give you the floor on it.
First of all,
before we even talk about this,
we are in the YouTube link of this podcast.
We're going to include places
to where you can go and talk to someone
if something like this has happened to you.
Okay.
Because when we've talked about this before,
a lot of people have pointed out,
that part of doing the work
and discussing something like this,
is providing people with the resources
that they need to be whole again.
Black men,
a lot of times,
aren't, to me,
seen as what they are.
I, when I was a kid, I was big.
I was gregarious.
I was confident.
The police always looked at me
like I was a 20-some-odd-year-old man.
They always treated me that way.
And I think the hyper-masculinity
that gets involved,
fused into young black men, really black people, sometimes manifests itself in early sexual
activity for them. And that's not always something that comes from us. It's something that comes,
I'm going to be honest with you guys, from the women in our community. It comes from the women
that are closest to us. It comes from, and when I say women in our community, I don't just mean
black women. I mean, the women that have the closest proximity to you. I mean, the teachers that
are around, the babysitters that are around, sometimes older family members that are around.
The difference is the way it is responded to after. Obviously, if something like that happens to a
young woman, we do a lot of deep work in thinking about what that means for her sexual present
and her sexual future, like what that means for her development. With black men, we don't
do that. We just don't. Part of the reason is the way we're socialized to look at sex.
Men are supposed to want sex. Men are supposed to do anything for sex. We've talked about it here
on this very podcast, or I've talked about it. Should I say that it's part of a man's biology
to want to have sex. And because of that perception or that reality, we think that whenever
it happens, it's something
that the man wanted
or had agency
or consent over, or that
even a child can consent, or
that it doesn't fundamentally change the way
that you look at sex and the way that
you look at women.
And it's just not true.
If YG or any
other man is getting to a point in his life
where he's starting to ask a lot of questions
about his sexual
appetites, about who he is,
how he views himself,
how he views his worth,
how he views his childhood.
I think that's a positive.
But if we're going to have this conversation,
we are going to have to have it
in a very brutally honest way
that I do not know
that a lot of people are ready to have it.
When you say brutally honest,
what are you talking about specifically?
So I can't tell you how many stories
from young black women that I've heard, right?
Where they don't think that they assaulted the young man.
Is that what you're saying?
No, I've never been in that situation.
But I've heard stories from young black women
And they've like there's a classic archetype
That I've heard over and over and over again
Really a lot
I'm not just I'm talking about a lot
To where the uncle
Abuses the young woman
And the young woman tells the family
And the grandmother protects the uncle
The family rallies around the man
to protect him.
That situation to me is
every time I hear it,
I think about what that must do to somebody,
how that much affects someone
when your grandmother
protects her son
when he's taking so much from you.
If there's a conversation about
women when they do these things,
when they sexually abuse young men,
it's going to be aunts.
It's going to be some grandmonds.
It's going to be some mamas.
It's going to be some caretakers.
It's going to be some people that otherwise are looked at very favorably with us.
It's going to be some people that took care of your kids when you had to go to work
and you couldn't watch them.
It's going to be people that fed the kids.
It's going to be all kinds of people that are in proximity to these young men
that have their trust.
and it's going to make a lot of other people reevaluate some of their positions and who they are and where they are.
Well, you hope it does, right?
What you hope is that you don't enter this vicious cycle of once again trying to protect the narrative,
trying to protect the image, trying to protect the family member, the friend,
the person who was close enough to have proximity to that person to take advantage of them.
You would hope that in this conversation, it can be honest for the first time.
And the only other thing I'll say to this is, and I know we're talking about black men specifically, it's this intersection of gender and racial stereotypes that really allows black men to be looked at, you know, on a stereotype as predators, rather as victims.
So it's almost as if, it's almost in, you know, historically when you look at how black men came into this country and how they were treated as as bucks and, you know, they were looked at as animalistic.
and violent, and then you take masculine, you know, as a black male, but then you take what's
traditionally viewed as masculine and that's dominant and that's strong and sex, as you said,
and then you mix those two together with the black male. It's as if there's, how could that,
that person possibly be assaulted because they're looked at in society as the aggressor
and not the person who is actually being taken advantage of. What a fantastic, amazing point.
It's very true. It's very true. But we have to talk about, we have to be able to talk about
that we're going to provide safe spaces for young boys.
Unsafe boys make unsafe men.
And I'm just letting you know.
And so we-
Well, YG says it.
The YG says it.
So we're going to have to have that conversation.
Donnie, some politics.
Politics and comedy, which we're about to talk about with TK.
The White House Correspondence Dinner is breaking with tradition this year,
and they're not going to include a comedian.
They're canceling Amber Ruffin's scheduled appearance
saying that at this consequential moment for journalism,
they wanted to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division,
but entirely on awarding our colleagues for the outstanding work.
This comes after, two months after,
they announced Ruffin's appearance, calling her the ideal fit
for this current political and cultural climate.
Hmm.
I don't know what to make of this,
because, specifically because of Eugene Daniels.
Interesting.
When I saw that I didn't realize he was the one who was the head of whatever it is, White House Court, whatever it's.
So my initial take on this, I'll be honest with you guys.
WHCA.
What?
My initial take on this was that over the last couple of weeks, the signal gate controversy has been such a big deal that the Trump administration or whomsever or whatever, maybe they don't want to get into a situation.
would have to listen to a ton of jokes about that
or other things that are going on.
But I didn't really know how this worked.
And when I saw that Eugene Daniels
was the one who made the decision,
someone who's been, I mean,
it's Eugene Daniels.
If you guys don't know who he is,
I'm wondering why they did this.
What changed in the last couple of months
with Eugene Daniels?
You tell me, I'm really,
at a long. I don't know. I'm speculating here, but he got a show on MSNBC.
Could be that. He's one of the black voices that they brought. I don't know if they brought
more to replace like the Joy Reid and the change up that NBC has made with their on-air talent.
He is now going to be, he has his own show. Yeah. So could it be that? I'm like you. When I saw
it was Eugene Daniels who, you know, is a writer. Writer for Politico. He's...
corresponds on MSNBC.
Right.
You know, a black man is queer, queer black man.
I just was shocked and he seemed so when he announced Amber Ruffin, was very excited.
I think if you decide to choose Amber Ruffin as somebody who's going to do this, you know exactly
what her comedy is, what she represents.
And she seemed to be very upfront her own statement about what she told them she would and wouldn't
do.
So it seems like the only reason that you pulled back is due to public pressure, not
public pressure, political pressure, coming from the current administration.
Maybe some of that pressure is you taking on this new position.
As a host of an MSNB show, we've seen MSNBC make decisions already that seem to be
politically motivated.
I don't know.
But when I look at what's changed over the last two months, that's one of them.
And I'm speculating.
I'm just...
Nobody knows.
He has...
He has just been announced.
this.
Which means it's been in the works.
So, well, this is first year as president of the White House Correspondents Association.
Look, I legitimately and honestly, we're talking about I don't know like what the decision
would have been.
But I have to believe that this has in part to do with not wanting to be in the crosshairs
of President Trump.
100%.
Right.
Which you just said.
But specifically to the point that.
that the Trump administration has been so successful at targeting journalists and getting places
to stand down and to reevaluate and all that stuff.
So, I mean, I don't know.
It's just interesting.
I would think the response that White House Correspondents Association had when the Trump
administration said that they were going to choose the group that gets to cover and
follow the president, they had a very big response to that.
and obviously opposed it.
And I don't know if legally they were trying to figure out how to change it,
but whatever it is, they were fighting it.
So to me, this decision seems to be in contrast of that.
It's like he's doing things that take away your rights or your privileges as journalists.
Why then are you what it seems to be bending the knee?
Because there have been, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff has been very outspoken
about Amber Ruffin being the person who is going to speak.
at the correspondent center, very vocal about it.
She went on a podcast, Samantha B's podcast.
She talked about how she wasn't going to play both sides when it came to jokes and how she
was going to specifically talk about Trump.
And the deputy chief of staff came out and said, this is ridiculous.
She's this.
She's that.
And then the next response you get is U.G. Daniels making a statement on behalf of W.HCA saying
they were moving her.
Right.
And particularly, we don't want to focus on the politics of division.
I don't know.
This is a political move, though.
They say that they don't want to do it,
but you just made a political by removing her.
Look, I'm not excoriating him.
I'm saying it's much more interesting
that Amber Ruffin doing,
I love Amber Ruffin.
Amber Ruffin doing the White House Correspondents dinner
is interesting.
Amber Ruffin being removed from performing there
by someone who is essentially
an ally on her side in every way, shape or form,
pretty well-known left-leaning or Democratic advocate
who wrote for Kamala Harris and the whole nine is very big figure MSNBC.
That is actually even more interesting to me because I think it speaks to the far-reaching power
that the White House has.
And it also tells a little bit of the story of how people are decided.
that they're going to cover this White House going forward.
Like, if they can't take the joke, then we won't make it.
Which is never, never, never the way that we've really approached politics or that the way you should approach politics, right?
Interesting.
Interesting.
Like, literally, I had a take.
I'm like, oh, my God, well, I know this.
And then when I started digging into, I'm like, oh, you, Eugene made this announcement.
and even if it wasn't his decision,
he announced it and fell on the sword for it.
I'm thinking, well, what does that mean now?
Now what does it mean?
Now what do I think?
Pressure.
Bus pipes also changes.
Shit.
Okay, look, Donnie, how much time do we have?
Minutes.
Minutes.
Okay.
So we got to get out of here.
I got to say two things before we do.
T.K. Kirkland's about to come on the podcast.
You guys, hold on to your goddamn hats.
Hold on to your goddamn hats.
And another thing.
I have an announcement to make.
Okay.
April is no race month for me.
I will not be talking about race at all in April.
And how did you come to this decision?
It's my birthday month.
I'm decompressing.
On any of the platforms that I go on,
race will be substituted for class
okay
no race month
in April
this means all of you guys who love race eyes
on the rewatchables you're not going to get it
race eyes I use race eyes
when I'm looking at the movie sometimes
race eyes
everybody who loves race eyes everyone
all of it just for April
that means May is going to be fucking like
I don't know you may like
You may like what April did for you. Carry it in May.
Maybe. No race month. Donnie, you gonna help me out?
I am going to try my best to bait you.
With talk of race?
Oh, 100%. I'm gonna make everything about race.
With race talk?
I'm gonna try to make everything about race. We're going on opposite ends of the spectrum.
Race talk. No race talk for me.
All right. What's the second announcement?
That's it.
Oh, I thought you had too.
No, no, that's it.
All right, next time, you got to tell us about this dream.
Write it down.
Oh, I know the dream.
I got my list of BDE cities and people.
Okay, sweet.
Sweet, this is off for Thursday.

I would definitely say that.
That's the proper word today.
There you go.
Comedy legend.
TK.K. Kirkland is joining us on How I Learning Today?
My brother, how are you doing?
Let's get some energy.
Let's get some energy.
It's in the world that you don't even know.
Vibrant energy is important.
We're just talking about something, man.
You know, first of all, me and TK have known each other for a little while.
I think we met through Charlemagne.
Yeah, through Charlotte.
Yep, sure did.
Right, years ago.
Years ago.
Wow.
Let me tell you our story real quick.
I'm on the phone.
I call T.
or TK calls me or something like that.
We're on the phone
because I used to hear him
on a brilliant idiotist all the time.
And then when I get on the phone,
you start talking to me
and I start listening
and then I'm like,
is he dropping jewels?
Like he's giving me,
he's like, he's telling me,
you know, I remember you said,
okay, if you're in a long-term relationship,
you're going to get married,
make sure that you have $25,000 in the bank.
And I was thinking,
at that point,
I did not have $25,000 in the bank,
but I was thinking about
all of the things that you were telling me,
I was like,
it's more than the comedy.
You feel like you kind of like an OG.
You feel the need and necessary.
It's necessary to you to give game to young guys.
And it just comes.
It's not like it's something that I'm forcing.
I'm walking down the street guys and start talking to me.
And it's just like it's just crazy.
It just comes.
But I try to impact the world as much as I can with the knowledge of that.
Because like I said, I'm 65 years old.
So when you get this old, you know.
Where?
Yeah, no, what happened was we was in Super Bowl.
It was in New Orleans.
And he called somebody and said,
he called somebody and said, yeah, he could believe he thought I was 45 years out.
But I saw you at the bar.
Like, I'm at the thing and I see you over there.
I came over there and whatever.
And then we're talking and he goes, yeah, you know,
because I'm 65 years.
I'm like, what the?
Yeah, because I like to get, I'm that man that everything has to be done.
I have to know what I'm doing.
Really sometimes two, three years.
years in advance. It gives you motivation. It inspires me. It keeps me to use certain days as a
bookmark to even work out that much harder because I want to look a certain way when I get there.
Do I have to read more and get my knowledge of information and current events up to a level that
I need to be like right now I'm three months behind because I've been so busy. So this whole week,
I got to cram in three months of stuff that I've been saving on my video,
but just study, study, study, study, and apply it to my new standout.
Wait, I got to talk about 65.
We talk about black men in health, and Van often talks about, like, where he grew up
and how men don't make it to set it.
Yes, he was talking to me about that as well.
What is it that you do?
What would you say?
I mean, obviously, there's no secret, but just, like, maybe, like, for black men who are listening
or just, you know, anybody who knows a black man, like, what is it that you
do to, you don't look at, but what is it, is it internal? I think it's a couple things.
One, um, you have to love yourself. Like, you truly have to love yourself. Second, you, it has to be
in your DNA. You have to really want it. And everything costs, right? Everything costs. Like,
um, to stay in the gym, to eat right. It costs money to do certain things. Then you have to have
discipline. When I was coming here today, um, I wanted to stop.
Do you want to eat this?
You want to do that?
Sometimes you can't eat properly, right?
You can't.
You can't eat properly because there's more junk out there than stuff that's good for you.
So I always tell people when you do eat bad, don't eat the whole thing.
If you want McDonald's fries, eat half the fries.
You want a cheeseburger, eat half the cheeseburger.
Because you got things in moderation.
And if you do things in moderation, you'll find.
Like, I was at a nice Mexican restaurant in Vegas the other day.
And I wanted to eat all of it, you know?
I have fajitas, you know, they come out with sizzling.
I just love all that.
So I could only eat the steak and shrimp,
then my little tortillas.
And I left a lot on there,
but I don't want to eat until I'm so full that I get theitis.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Not you got to sleep.
Yeah, yeah.
And then you got to drink a lot of water.
But it doesn't have to be in your DNA, you know?
And I've been working out my whole life since I was like 12.
I was a track star.
So what was your race?
I ran everything from the,
100 yard dash to the mile relay, to my relay.
Yeah, got a scholarship that I was on the state back in the late 80s.
And went to, came here to get my master's at Cal State Northridge.
And then the rest is history.
You know what?
The life of a comedian, how long have you been a comedian?
40 years.
40 years.
Yes.
40 years basically on the road.
On the road.
Yeah, absolutely.
The life of a comedian, is it a healthy life?
If you're disciplined.
Some communists party.
Some communions drink a lot.
I see them all.
I don't pay, I just pay attention.
It's not what I do, though.
I have no vices.
No vices.
No vices.
Not even women?
When a man says he has no vices.
Women is not a vice.
Explain on that.
On females, not a vice.
See?
No, go ahead.
I'm going to let your friends.
I'm saying, when a man says he has no vices,
that means there's a vice that he's ignored.
No.
I don't gamble.
I don't drink.
I'm kind of boring.
I think because when I was young,
I used to get in so much trouble.
You know,
some people know my history and all that.
The people who don't know it.
Yeah, and we ain't going to bring it up,
I got grandkids now.
But I was talking to D.L. the other day,
and we used to talking about,
I told him, when I'm walking in Paris
or walking the streets of Berlin,
I'm really laughing.
He said, why?
I said, because I beat the odds.
Like, I'm really overseas.
really doing this thing.
And I'm not in no jail, no prison, not dead, not having fights for anybody.
Not on social media because I was in a gang and all our business there.
I was on social media.
Like, I'm really a successful taxpaying president of the Home Ones Association comedian.
Citizen.
Yeah, a citizen.
And that means a lot to me.
You know, it truly does.
You moved overseas.
How long have you been over there and why did you decide to make that?
My daughter's studying abroad.
Okay.
So I got an apartment over there.
And like real place, in the 15 district, in the 15 ward, that's how they do.
There's like being in New Orleans or Houston.
They have wards and stuff.
In Paris.
In Paris.
Yeah.
So we love it.
And I just like doing fly shit.
So that's what I do.
I don't know if it was like a political decision.
Oh, no, no, no.
No, no.
Yeah.
I was doing this way before the Donald Trump and all that kind of stuff.
And the speaker of Donald Trump, I know people don't like Donald Trump.
And I'm not a fan.
of Donald Trump or Kamala Harris or Biden, I just believe in you do what you got to do.
The thing that I want, I found that in life when someone you don't like, you have to use
them in sense.
How can you got to look at situations?
How can I use this person to my benefit?
And when I look at Donald Trump, Donald Trump in a way should be an inspiration to most people
in the world.
And I'm explaining to you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Any man, it shows you that he was determined to do whatever it took to become president of the United States of America.
He stepped on people.
He beat 34 felonies.
Touched a female disrespect.
I'm not talking about from a political point of view.
I'm not talking about achieving a dream.
I'm talking about achieving something that you really want to make it in life.
I'm not a fan of his.
I don't want people to think...
Sounds like it.
Yeah, sounds like it.
But that's how come.
It's good to hear what I have to say.
He has shown what determination is really about.
Or lack of morals.
Like, it's the things you described.
Yes, but listen, the world is about lack of morals, love.
The people...
And this is what I've found in life.
Okay.
It's good to have a heart.
It's good to be emotional.
It's good to love.
but as they say,
good people finish laughs.
I've been here long enough.
Two things can be true at the same time.
Two things can be true at the same time.
What I've seen in my lifetime, babe,
this lying thing has taken a direction of its own
that I've never seen before.
lying is unbelievable.
And I didn't understand it because when I was going on social media
when Instagram first started
and I was telling my journey and everybody in the comments like,
he's lying, he's lying.
And I was like, why do people say the person lies so much?
And then D.L. G. Gaffrey, Mike Apps were going these different shows
and say, oh, no, T.K. Kirk can tell him the truth.
And then I realized from the 75 million people
that voted for Donald Trump,
the people who believe in these,
these conspiracy theories,
that lying is real popular.
And when I see sometimes guys with beautiful women,
I always say myself,
ain't no way he could have pulled that bitch.
And I point people out in the audience
and any guy that's with a fine girl.
I go, I know you a liar.
Right.
You know?
Because liars, until the females figured it out,
the liar always
that's the female first
until she figures out
he wasn't honest, he wasn't the truth.
So this is what I've seen in my lifetime.
You know what's interesting?
It's interesting how
you look at even determination
because Donald Trump's determination is one thing.
But when I think of determination,
I think of like a single mom,
bust and a ass, three jobs
to, like, pay for her son
to, like, have football cleats.
I don't necessarily think.
about the dude with $3 billion
trying to take over the world.
It's two sides of that story.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I don't think that Donald Trump,
I think he's shown a hunger for power.
It's the same thing.
I don't know if it's a determination.
No, no.
It's a determination.
Hunger for power is determination as well.
It's the will to want to win.
It's like the will to run the hundred yard day.
It's just the will to climb Mount Everest.
It's a will,
whatever your dream is, right?
It's based on your dream.
when I hear a woman busting her ass to a mother busting her ass, three kids, whatever, you know what I see?
Bad choices.
Yeah.
A woman who slept with a person that didn't monitor who she was fucking.
This is so fascinating.
So the choice to assault the woman from Donald Trump, that's not a bad choice.
What do you mean assault?
Well, he assaulted someone.
Like Donald, so I'm saying, the stuff that Donald Trump does, that's not.
No, no, no.
That's not a bad choice.
Everything Donald Trump did was bad.
Right.
But he didn't let it stop him as one of the choices.
And she's not letting it stop her either.
Right.
I totally agree.
Yeah.
But all these guys, let's make sure we clear.
Okay.
Let's make sure we clear.
Okay.
The woman made bad choices and found the way to achieve.
Yeah, bad choices.
Or the, wait, I just have to finish before because I see where you're going.
You finish.
The woman made bad choices and achieved goals, right?
Right.
Donald Trump made bad choices as well.
right and still had the willpower to win
just like the mother who made bad choices
finds a way to put a kid's to school
find a way to achieve certain things in life
and
now I'm watching them
Rachel's about to blow
Let's listen
Rachel about to blow
Rachel
Don't yeah
Don't fucking cuck out
Give it give it up
Rachel
I'm not to give anything just go ahead and fit it
But here's the thing.
It's about communication, right?
Because sometimes a person can say something that a person does understand
and it can be taken out of context.
Okay.
I just want to make sure we clear.
And if you don't understand, I promise you, I will sit here and try to explain.
I think y'all need probably the understanding.
Yes, because when you say it's the woman's fault for laying down with the man,
you almost take all the fault and accountability and responsibility away from the man.
Two people make that decision.
I'm going to tell you what happened here.
So it's not the woman's fault that she slept with a guy who chose not to support him.
But you're taking the conversation down another lane.
Let me explain to what I mean.
Please.
Because that's not what he said.
See, he said, TK, Donald Trump did X, Y, and Z.
What about the woman that has three kids?
He didn't say about the father.
Yeah, the single woman who said.
Yeah, we was on one thing.
Now, he said, Tika, what do you feel about the situation?
between a mother and three kids and a dad not being responsible.
That's not what he said.
If he just said that, my conversation would have been sex makes babies not love.
See?
Yes.
I still, I don't know.
I don't know.
This is what happened.
So I said that she shows determination.
She shows determination.
And then you said it's not determination as bad choices.
As if the choice is only bad on the woman.
That's the way you took it.
I sure did.
Yeah.
And I see that.
Because it was one thing we're going to do
while we're going to show on.
Since we just said, I want you to listen to comprehend.
Watch, watch.
I don't want you to listen to reply.
Right?
Take the time to take the time.
Take the time.
I'm going to tell you, if you don't mind me saying that,
take the time to say, TK.,
can I ask you what you mean by that?
Because the world is watching us, right?
But if I don't agree with you,
that doesn't mean that I'm not comprehending what you're saying.
That's not what I'm saying.
What I'm saying is if you don't understand before you react.
I want you take a beat and say,
TK, what do you mean?
Because I want you to go.
go off if I say something wrong.
Did I listen?
No, no. I'm saying if I say something wrong,
I want you to check me.
But before you check me, I want you to go,
TK, what do you mean by that?
I'm going to do that too because I actually took it the same one.
Okay, good, good, good, good.
I'm going to do that because what it seems like
is you go, I say, hey, because we're talking about
determination, right?
We're talking about determination.
We're talking about determination.
Yes.
I don't think somebody, I don't think that Donald Trump had to be all that
determined.
He got a million dollars from his dad.
If he had took the money that he got from his father,
and parted in the S&P 500,
he'd be richer than what he is right now, right?
So, and I'm going to tell you with, yes, that's just so.
So he, you know, the determination or the will to want to step on people
and do all of that stuff,
I don't think that that's laudable or virtuous at all.
When I think about determination, I think about people in situations.
If it's not a, if it's somebody that's living in a fucked up spot somewhere
where they are actually fighting for the things in life,
that should be provided, people that are fighting for housing,
people that are fighting for freedom,
people that are fighting to feed themselves.
And the determination that they still have to do for other people,
that's kind of how I look at determination.
And then when I said that, honestly, you went, well,
she made a lot of bad choices.
Yes, yes.
That's a Republican shit to you.
So here's the thing I also found in life.
To this point where we are sitting in this chair,
right?
Everybody has had their own journey, right?
everything that got to this point,
your experiences have led you to believe
what you believe at this point.
Certainly.
My experience have led me to believe
what I believe at this point.
My point I'm saying is nobody's wrong here.
You're basing your decision on
what you think because of your experiences,
what you're seeing in your eyes and I haven't walked
in your shoes or your shoes either, right?
And you haven't walked in my shoes.
I'm not saying that the man was right.
From coming from,
my perspective comes from a street
philosophy.
It comes from beating the case.
It comes from the determination of having an attorney,
getting the attorney to be the case.
See, until you have handcuffs on your hand
or you're sitting back of a police car,
these are my experiences.
So I take that determination as a different way.
Why did you make those choices?
Bad choices, that's what I'm trying to say.
Do you think that you made those choices?
Let me ask you this.
So let's say,
because I think this is an interesting thing.
These are all conversations are interesting.
So you made bad choices.
Is it possible that you had a bad choice matrix?
No, life is about consequences, right?
Now, the reason I like to bring this up
because some people can, because of their choices,
can't get out of them.
What I mean is this.
So you take someone that's in a situation
where they have to make the choice
to not live a certain lifestyle.
Yes.
Right?
They have to.
So if every day you are,
I'm from Baton Rouge, right?
Yes.
Like, so there's a specific part of growing up there,
particularly where I grew up,
where you have to make the choice not to do something.
Yes.
And it's in your face.
Yes.
Right?
Now, I had my dad.
I had my mom.
And I also had examples from rest and peace,
my uncle Craig.
Not my uncle Craig.
Yeah, let me tell me about your family.
Yeah, yeah.
I had examples from guys who had
But I have to make the choice not to do something, right?
Now, if you put that person in a different situation where their choices are not so much oriented around what not to do, but what to do, you don't think that that changes a certain percentage of outcomes, meaning if you have to...
No, you're absolutely right.
Right.
If your shoes is fucked up and you grow up poor and you got to walk by niggas that's hustling, robbing and doing all of that stuff, you have to decide, hey, I'm going to go work at Popeyes on McDonald's.
Totally agree.
I'm going to do this rather than do that.
Yes.
If you take that same person,
they don't have to think about what they're not doing.
All they can concentrate on is
how do I do the same thing that my father
and the other people in the world?
You know what I mean?
But we're all mentally programmed
to a certain extent.
Let's take the drug game
and all over the world.
Sure.
When a person sells a key
and the key is 20,000
and they sell it to somebody else,
they only put a 2,000 market.
up on it. That's only a 6%
upraised.
2% on the 20,000.
That's all you make it. Now get into 20,000.
Depending on how much I like you, yeah.
Right, exactly.
So my point that I'm making,
it all comes down the choices.
What we want the world to know
while we're sitting here
is that be conscious
of the choices that you make.
See, because
can't nobody teach nobody enough unless you've been
through something, right?
And
I got lucky to get out of my bad decisions.
What we're trying to do here today
is whether it's a woman getting pregnant,
a man making a woman,
getting a woman pregnant to people running for politics
on Eric Adams and everybody else,
your choices will come back and bite you on the ass
if you don't do the right thing.
And if you don't do the right thing,
if you don't do the right thing,
are you man or woman enough
to deal with the consequences?
See?
Rage, are you?
See, the consequences,
regardless of what we say here,
somebody's going to listen to us and say,
I agree.
But then I've seen it on my podcast.
People call me,
after talking to me,
and two years later,
I should have listened to you.
I fucked up.
And like, damn, dog.
And by that time, there's nothing I really could do.
There was a gentleman who reached out to me.
He's 32.
He had a baby with a girl 23 years old.
They had broke up.
And he wanted his family.
I guess he hadn't seen her six, seven months.
He flew it back down to where he lived, put a name on the apartment.
He goes out one day.
He comes in.
He hears her on the phone talking.
He finds out she's pregnant by another man.
He called me.
and frantic because he wanted to kill her
because he worked for a garbage company
and he said he was going to kill her
and put her in the trash
and he's an insane person
he was emotional
yeah so I sat there with him
for almost two hours
to explain to
I gave him a lot of different reasons in life
on what he should do
I said one you had
probably have to have you a side chick to the side
because you're not going to respect her
like you want to I said but she is the
of your child.
And because she's broke
and she's 23.
One, you date the girl
that's 23 years old.
Like, what's something wrong with you?
To even mess with a young kid.
That's a child, you know?
And I explained to him
the goal is to
take care of the child,
raise it like it's yours.
And then one day when you're 60,
because this just happened like early this year.
Yeah.
I said one day he's 67 years old
and the sun is beating her
because I was sitting in the park a lot of Whole Foods.
And I was just in a good move because the sun was on me.
I'm thinking about how I beat the odds, like I always said.
And I wanted to get from that story before he made a bad decision that will ruin his life forever.
Because he truly was serious about putting that young lady in the trash.
Now, I see, here's the thing. This is the difference.
If I'm talking to somebody and I think that they will actually do that.
Yes.
I'd have called somebody for you.
his ass. He's crazy. He's going to kill. TK., that man's
going to kill. That guy's going to
Some people crash out, man. That guy's going to kill.
Yeah, but have you ever been in a situation like that?
See, here's a thing.
I want to kill a woman? No, no, no. So that's my point.
See, everybody, everybody life is different.
It's true. See, when a man, sometimes, some men put women on the pedestal so high.
Let me sure this. It's about to be good.
It's so high that when she does something to him, some guys look at women like that.
they just crash out.
And I tell young ladies, you've got to know it's signs to see.
Because we always talk about women being emotional, right?
Some guys are so emotional that they will kill,
even if they are with another woman.
Yeah.
Even if they could have moved on with another family.
And because he loved that girl and that girl chose that guy,
still hate will come out.
As a person, you know, like you give so much advice and, you know, you saved a life that day.
We talk about on this podcast about domestic violence specifically within our community and how we don't talk about that enough.
And I think, yes, it's important, obviously, for a woman to recognize the signs.
But in that particular case you're talking about, what could be done more than just deterring that young man from committing that crime, that murder?
What about getting him?
Like, what can we get those young men who crash out or who are?
emotional when it comes to women because he needs help.
How do we like the advice of that man yeah, that man needs help?
Like what do we do?
What would you give?
What would you say about that?
I don't think people need help.
I don't think.
No, I don't think people need help.
I think people.
Yeah, I don't think people need help.
What does he need?
Because you agree that that young man is trouble.
That young man is trouble.
And if it's not her, you're going to do it to another woman.
Let me give you an example.
And I'm single out here.
I need to know we need to help these men.
The goal is to find someone that don't bring that out of you.
Give me an example.
You know some guys get domestic violence case, right?
Yeah.
And then they send you to domestic violence classes,
52 weeks of the domestic violence class.
That's what happens if you got to the domestic violence case.
They send you away for 52.
Not send you away.
You go to class for 52 weeks to be a year.
It's part of court order.
And then guys finished that class, right?
Two weeks later called the girl that they had to fight with.
Baby, I told you, I've changed.
I went to the classes.
I'm a different man.
And get right back with the same person that put them in domestic violence classes.
My point is, I'm not believe in domestic violence classes.
I believe you stay away from the person that makes you mad.
My point being is that guy has to get the kind of woman.
that makes them feel a certain way,
someone that's loyal,
someone that is, but most guys don't do that.
See, everything up to 40, in my opinion, is rehearsal.
So when you go in through these emotions,
jealousy, betrayal.
And domestic violence just didn't start.
It's been around.
It's just now it's more obvious.
I'm about to ask a question.
I want you to stay with me here.
Okay, you got it.
Um, because it's going to come out a little weird.
Okay.
Is there a man that looks good enough that's hot enough to make you gay?
Hell no.
Right.
So there's not a guy out there that can bring that out of you.
So it's not like one dude, right?
That as long as you stay away from that guy, you won't want other, other guys.
Right, right.
There's not.
So what I'm saying is,
that like if you are in fact attracted to men, then that is something that's inside of you.
Yes, yes.
Right.
I agree.
If you are in fact attracted to men, you're born that way.
That's something inside of you.
Yes.
And I mean, that is something that can't be worked out.
It's how you were born.
Yes, right, right.
What I'm saying about domestic violence is that I don't think that staying away from one woman
or two women or three women is going to.
to make you not be an abuser.
I think that it's something inside of you
that you need to work out,
that you need to heal,
or the next woman is going to present herself
as a woman for you to achieve.
Give me an example.
I think I'll smack a female in a minute.
I'm being honest with you.
I'm being, I know that.
So what do I do? I stay away from women
who got a slick mouth.
I say away from women who...
Well, you need help, though.
No, no, no, no.
Don't need help.
Well, you do.
But how do you know until you experience this?
There's the danger in it, right?
If we were dating, I have a slick mouth.
Yeah.
I think you can tell that already.
Yeah, I'd have been on smack to or left you.
Okay, but you wouldn't know that initially from dating me.
You would have to experience me popping off and saying something to you.
So then what are you going to do you and walk away?
You're going to hit me.
Like, that's what I'm saying.
No, no. years ago, I've got to smack the hell out you.
That's not what you said.
That's what I'm saying.
Experience teaches you discipline and strength.
Years experience teaches you to be observant,
even though you're attractive,
even though you've got what a man likes.
Are you powerful enough to walk away from something
that could bring out the badness in you?
So even though I find you fine,
even though I want to fuck you or take you out,
and I'm strong enough because I know how I am.
I know what I'm capable of.
The sex don't mean that much to me based on my freedom and what I have to lose.
Financially, et cetera.
I'll walk away from it because guess what?
There's other women out here.
But most men don't have those choices.
Most men don't get sex all the time.
Most men don't have their money right.
Most men, their egos take over more than their decisions.
So they'll chase you knowing you're the wrong person.
person to be with.
My point, though, is that guy is always going to find a wrong person.
No, no.
Because he is.
Because he's unheeled.
If you are in a position where, forget, we're talking about a domestic situation, right?
For me, right now, I think of physical violence.
When I think of physical violence in my situation, just in general, I think of when I was
at TMZ, like, there's a way to.
that they used to talk at TMZ.
Yes.
Right?
There's a way that they would communicate, right?
They would yell at you and stuff like that.
Okay.
And I remember I was having a conversation with a producer,
somebody above me at TMZ.
And I was like, you know what?
That's not going to work for me.
And I was like, the moment that somebody is in my face yelling,
yes.
My brain is saying attack him.
Absolutely.
Like my brain is saying, hey, it's about to happen.
Yes.
Like, because when somebody gets to, oh, my God,
attack him, attack him.
I was like, we're going to have to find a different way to communicate, right?
We're going to have to find a different way to communicate because I'm not going to be verbally
abused.
Absolutely.
And you're putting me into a situation where I feel insecure about my safety.
Okay.
Okay.
Yes.
So when my safety is threatened, I would then attack.
Yes.
That needs healing, one.
But in a situation with a woman, there's no.
situation where my safety
from her slick
mouth or from her attitude
or from what she posts
on Instagram, there's no situation where
my safety
would be
at risk. I would never feel
unsafe with the woman. I would
feel mad. I would feel
upset. Anybody can make me
mad or upset. So I,
to me, if your
safety is not being compromised
and you still want to smack somebody
because they
have put you in a situation
where they've turned your anger up.
To me, I think that needs healing.
But you said something that was very powerful there.
You said at work,
when they was talking to you a certain way,
you said you didn't like that.
So when someone, when you don't like something,
you remove yourself from the situation, agree?
Or you negotiated with the person.
Watch where I'm going.
So what I need to do.
So what I need to do,
I needed to do two things.
One, I needed to tell them how I needed to be spoken to.
Then that sets terms with that.
But number two, I needed to understand in that situation, which I did, which I went to therapy.
I needed to understand that somebody, not everybody is from where I'm from.
So somebody raising their voice to me doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to attack me.
Now, I don't want, but I'm talking about in a situation with your woman, right?
But you said that it's very important.
everybody's different.
It's based on where you raise.
But there's a wrong and the right, though.
There is a wrong and the right,
but the goal is disciplined.
Even though we,
shooting somebody you know what's wrong,
robbing the bank and you know it's wrong,
put your hand in the fire, you know it's wrong.
You still got to make a choice.
And even though,
I'm talking about me, I can't speak for another man.
Right.
If a woman was around me that made me feel that way,
because of how,
what I've learned in life,
I would stay away from that.
Let me ask you a question.
I'll come back to this.
This is very important question.
Because I don't think I ask this.
When a woman is talking slick to you, why do you want to slap her?
Because I'm a man of respect and discipline.
I'm old school, I think a certain way.
What's going to be so great about this?
Because so many women are going to be on Instagram or whatever, attack what I'm saying.
But the older women who in their 60s, in their 70s, will understand what I'm saying.
it's the young kids that have come up
not understanding structure
not understanding respect
not understanding that you
it's not that you go back or forth with a man
which is that certain men move a certain way
a lot of women have not seen a strong man
in their journey so a lot of women will talk back
or they'll say oh
a strong man is a man at a smack of women
no no no a strong man just being a strong
man in discipline
what I mean by
when I'm saying strong
what makes some women slick with their mouth
is because they have had that type of father around.
Not saying, everything that I'm saying,
again, this is one of the things I want people to listen.
Don't put yourself in the story.
I'm telling the story.
If everybody puts themselves in a story,
the story is never going to be the right story
because you're making it about you.
And my story is my story, right?
My story to everybody's listening is my story.
Everybody will have a different opinion
because everybody walked a different path.
And I'm like, I'm quite sure I'm 30 years older than you.
I'm 39.
Oh, yeah.
My kids are your age.
So if all of us think totally, totally different.
And that's the, and that's another problem within itself, the age gap.
Because when I was coming up, the world was different, like sexual assault today.
You know, back of the day, we could fly women out of town.
Here we go.
You know, back a day, you could fly women at a town.
Now it's sex trafficking.
if Hugh Hephton was alive.
Well, you can't.
It's not sex trafficking to fly women out of time.
Oh, it's sex trafficking now.
That's right.
If you, if, if, if, that's a, that's a classic,
a misunderstanding of it.
So if you, if you, if you fly somebody,
let's say you're talking to a girl and you want to fly her from Miami to L.A.
Yeah.
So y'all can meet and have sex.
It's not sex trafficking.
Okay.
Is sex trafficking if you force or if she is under the threat, if she's getting paid?
Yes.
If she's being forced or corrupt.
That's sex traffic.
Other than that, it's not sex traffic.
Or else everybody, people, I mean, flying somebody going on vacation.
Yeah, exactly.
So that's not sex trafficking.
Okay, I'm glad you brought that up.
Right.
I was saying that in my standout a little bit.
So I'm glad that you said that.
Yeah.
So to everybody that's listening, I think we're all right.
So it's one, you should put your hand on.
Oh, you're definitely wrong.
Yeah, definitely.
No, no, you're definitely wrong.
We're right and you're wrong.
Yeah.
So, no, here's the thing.
Here's the thing.
See, because I have daughters.
Anybody tell us about doors
it would be a problem.
But see, what's so...
But I understand what I'm saying, though.
No, no, no, you're laughing.
No, the conversation is going in so many circles,
but I need you to understand.
Yeah.
I'm talking about when I was a youngster
what I experienced in my journey.
Yeah.
And what my experience is taught me to stay away from.
Okay.
And my experience taught me, me, not nobody else,
me,
that if I met a woman
that mind me
of certain women
in my past,
I'm not going
that route.
Does it make me evil?
Does it make me abusive?
My experiences taught me.
This is not the path
I should go down.
Just like if you catch a case
and get arrested
and they put you in prison.
The reason why
the conditions are bad
is for you not to bring your ass back.
Now,
you've got a choice.
You can either do another crime and come back.
So my thing is the women that any man will understand what I'm saying.
I don't care if she got a fat ass, you can shoot.
If that girl reminds you of someone that you didn't like in the past,
to me, that's your blueprint to stay away from that person.
So to be clear, I don't believe in domestic violence.
I don't believe in hurting the female.
I'm saying from my past,
what I went through
taught me
I've been the happiest in my life
the last 40, 45 years
because I stay away
from things that can trigger me
and that's what I want men to understand.
Don't go down a path
because you think that you're strong.
Don't go down a path
because people are saying
that you have to control yourself.
No, stay away
from the person
or persons that can make you
make a bad decision. There's 8 billion people on this planet. You don't have to go down that
path. Some people don't have the mental strength or the mental awareness that you're talking about.
Right. And you said, you made a statement earlier where you were like, you don't believe in people
getting help. No, it's not that I don't believe in getting people help. I was using an example.
People go get help. Okay. And they go right back to the bad situation that put them in the bad
situation in the first place. Okay. Because what I was going to ask you is, we talk about mental health
on the podcast, do you believe in therapy?
From my era, no.
Okay, so, and I want you to continue on that,
because something you were saying,
you talk about how don't put yourself in the story
because you're making it about you.
I think it's innately within us to do that.
We're listening to something.
We watch a movie.
You're listening to a song.
You automatically relate your own experiences to it.
Put yourself in the main character's situation.
I think that you have to make space for that
because someone's listening to you, right?
Like Van came on and talks about all the gyms that you dropped me,
advice that you give, like the young man who called you.
They're listening to the things that you're saying,
and they're taking that to heart.
They're saying, well, that's what he did and look where he is now.
And they take that and they implement that in their own lives.
But I'm not saying that's wrong.
So for you saying no to therapy.
But let me spend to you why, I mean,
you're from a different generation.
What about to this generation?
We didn't ever talk about this.
Yeah, I love this.
About therapy?
Yeah.
So why's what I'm about to tell you?
See, I travel the world.
Yeah.
You know, America is the only country in the world that talks about depression.
The only country in the world talks about domestic violence.
The only country, we're only 50% of the population, but 90% of the medication is done in the United States of America.
We've been programmed since we've children to believe in certain things.
When I'm in Rome, you don't hear them talk about depression or domestic violence.
When I'm in Berlin, Paris, Benin, Nigeria, Nairobi, Tanzania.
don't see that.
My point is America, USA, has programmed everybody to a point to believe what you believe in.
Yeah, they got a little therapy in different parts of the world.
Yeah.
A lot of it.
Yeah.
Like the father of modern psychotherapy, Sigma Freud, it's not American.
Like, it's like there's therapy everywhere.
Just because they don't talk about it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I'm agreeing with you.
I say it's everywhere,
but not as much as it is in the United States of America.
It's pushed down our throats.
What's pushed down our throats?
What are you saying?
From therapy to child support to divorcing your woman,
etc.
All this shit is pushed down on the American man.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, but we got to take these.
I'm sorry.
Can we just have an intermission?
I have to go to the bathroom.
Okay.
Okay, can we just have it?
Well, wait, wait, wait, hold on, though, Rachel.
We're going to lose ourselves.
You're a young girl.
You got to lose ourselves if we do.
We got to.
Okay.
So let's stay on therapy real quick before we get to.
So let's say that everything that you're saying is true.
Yes.
That it doesn't exist in other parts of the world.
So what?
Yes.
I'm just saying.
But what's the point?
No.
Here's what I'm going.
I said the world has changed so much that that is pushed.
upon the America people to get therapy.
I come from an error.
Me, just me personally, be tough,
make decisions,
and fuck that weakness shit.
That's me.
So therapy is weakness.
To me, to me,
because I feel you've got to be
mentally tough enough
to get past that shit.
Mentally tough, okay,
let's talk this out.
You don't have to go use the bathroom.
You're going to have to.
No, no.
I've been holding for a long time.
She's going to have to go use the bathroom.
But here's the thing before she goes.
Before, because she's going to have to.
to use the bathroom because
this is important
what I'm about to tell you.
It's like,
no, no, no.
A nigger's going to commit suicide.
No, no, no.
Let me tell you.
To me now,
I got a,
I got discipline
that's beyond the person's imagination.
Me.
Right.
Now, if a person needs to go therapy,
take your ass to therapy.
Right.
You, yo,
I'm not telling you to be like me
because you fuck around,
kill yourself.
Right.
I move and think a different way.
So everything that I'll say
to anybody's,
listening. I'm not to your point. I don't want
no man to say, oh, I'm going to be like
TK. And you don't have the same
mother-father I have. You don't have my
DNA. You don't have my
experiences. So my
point is, I can do what I've done
because I've had the experiences
and I'm mentally
and think differently. But if you,
and I'm not saying that you're weak.
I'm saying that that's what you did.
Well, I did.
I did.
You know, and if you
are therapy, yeah, you
You're weak motherfucker.
Well, I'm in therapy.
No, I know you're in therapy.
He's joking.
Yeah.
No, no, I am.
But let me tell you something.
And I'll tell you.
Yes.
I think the guys like, you are weak.
Yes.
And I'll tell you why.
Right.
Okay.
Because I think if there is something that can materially, like, and actually help your life.
Yes.
Like, if there is something that can actually make you a better person.
If there's something that actually helps you work out who you are
and work out the way that you show up for other people in your life
and the type of man that you are.
Yes.
And you don't do it because of a really artificial perception.
Yes.
I feel like that's weak.
Yes.
I feel like...
But you're entitled to your opinion.
Of course, right?
Yes.
So I feel like the weakness that we have to get over
is the weakness that tells us that there is some...
structure of manhood that or some structure even of discipline take manhood out of it that necessitates
that we in some way cut ourselves off from who we are emotionally or psychologically so that discipline
what you're saying i'm hurting i'm hurting i'm hurting i'm hurting i want to cry i can't i want to do this i
can't because i could make an argument right now yes that the reason why you're in a situation with a woman
and you get so mad that you want to smack her
is because you have not properly resolved your feelings.
And if you have properly resolved your feelings
and how somebody else triggers you makes you feel
that you would not ever get to that point.
You wouldn't have to avoid certain women
because the person that you really avoiding TK is yourself.
I'm not even going to let you go with that.
The person that you avoiding is yourself.
We're having a therapy session.
This is therapy right here.
We're going to say.
That ain't going to happen to me.
You're going to say it.
No, no.
TK.
Tell me when the first time he was hurt, bro.
Listen to me.
Listen to me.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
I'm one of the most happiest men on the plan.
I bet you are.
Let me let me if you're going to clear.
I'm a happy.
Guys, don't you'll listen to him?
Because ignorance is bliss.
Listen to me.
That's why you have.
Listen to me.
What we got here is generational gap and it's fine, right?
From where I'm from, all that shit.
He's saying, that's some weak shit.
Since he pointed to me, that's some weak.
But let me tell you to all the street niggins.
Let me finish.
Hey, any nigger out there that thinking I'm weak,
when you see me tell me out.
Van, no, no.
Let me speak.
Listen, what's so great about what all of us doing?
Depending on how they edit it.
Oh, we don't add it.
We don't edit.
So this is what you do, ladies and gentlemen.
You take what Van said, Rachel and me,
and you take it all in and you apply it to your life
what you think is good for you.
and that's how you win.
We have three different personalities here,
three different age groups.
Yeah, you're literally closer to my dad's age.
Right.
And like legitimately, my dad was born 1955.
Oh, yeah, we write.
So you're literally closer to my dad's age.
So what you're seeing here is OG's new millennium,
and no one is wrong.
Let me sure we clear.
Except for TK.
Yeah, no one's wrong.
take what you think applies to your life.
If Van is saying go get therapy,
and that makes you better,
if Rachel is saying also to go get therapy,
and then you hear OG like me saying,
fuck that weak shit,
stay away for people that make you mad,
then you take what I'm saying.
But we all are right here.
There is no really no right answer
because you're going to have people
in different age groups watching the shit.
episode. They're going
from 18, probably on up to
60-something years old, right?
So each person, based on
their experiences,
they'll feel what you're saying.
Oh, I'm like what they're saying. Oh, I love
what the fuck was, Rachel was saying.
But damn it, that
motherfucker did it.
I want to introduce you to somebody.
Go use a bathroom. Go use a bathroom.
Because I'm about to ask him about NWA. I want to talk
about you NWA. When you come back in, you're
coming back in on a rap situation.
I want to introduce you to somebody too.
I want to introduce you to my man Jason Wilson,
Cable Vidalum, in Detroit.
Okay.
All right, I want to introduce you to someone.
Because we're going to talk about how to get our feelings out.
We got to get our feelings out together.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.

You tour with NWA back in the day.
Yes.
Like you tour with NWA.
I want to ask you a question.
When I watched straight out of Compton,
there was a scene in a movie where,
shout out to O'Shea,
there was a scene in the movie where Ice Cube was carrying like some fat burger
and he was coming back.
They was on tour.
and it was...
Easy E and Jerry Heller
eating sandwiches at a restaurant.
Yeah.
Was there that type of separation
between EZE and Jerry Heller
and all the other guys on tour?
Did you notice that NWA was falling apart
right before your own very eyes?
Yeah, right in front of me.
I was right there.
on tour
NWA shout at the DOC.
Me and DOC was roommates.
Oh, okay, shout out.
And Shug Knight was our bodyguard.
Interesting.
Yeah, Shug Knight was our body guy.
He had to protect me and the D.O.C.
I was the host of the show of the tour.
D.O.C. was the upcoming star,
and Shug was just always in the right place
at the right time.
And the day Ice Cube left,
I didn't really understand it because I didn't know
the music business really that well.
They just said Ice Cube left.
And I remember everybody's just talking.
I didn't really understand what it was until you learned the business years down the line.
And he wrote pretty much the whole album.
And he knew, and I respect Ice Cube for this, he knew how much he was worth.
He knew $75,000 was not cutting it.
Because that album, I think Easy East spent $6,000 to put that album.
album together and the album made $22 million in saying if that's not hitting the lottery,
that's bigger to hit the lottery.
So I saw all that happened in front of me.
I hate the ice cube did leave, though, because from my journey, looking back now,
out of all the groups I've seen Buster Rhymes and his sidekick, M.C. Hammer.
all the greats
NWA had a chemistry
public enemy
NWA had a chemistry
that was so phenomenal
that one person out
it threw off the balance
of the energy
and whoever ever think to this day
that NWA had the impact
that they have
which is I find fascinating
I told DJ Yeller
not too long ago
I'm glad they called me
I was in
I forgot what I was in
and they called me.
I hadn't seen DJ Yellow since
1980.
I haven't seen since 1980,
89.
That was my first time
talking to him
in that long.
So,
NWA had a phenomenal impact
on the world.
Do you feel like
Cuban those guys
were being mistreated
by EZ
and Jerry Heller?
I don't think
that EZ
understood the game.
You got to remember.
Okay.
So EZ himself
probably wasn't up
on business enough.
Yes.
Because you know how EZ
got started.
Yeah,
right?
He was financing the NWA.
From his street activity.
Yeah, he was financing them.
The group that Dr. Dre was producing,
they had an argument walked out,
and Dre said to Easy, yo, go in the studio.
First thing Easy E did on,
he never had rap before in his life.
Did you know that?
Well, yeah, I mean, that's like me talking to you right now.
Yeah, it was like me talking to you right now.
It's like, yo, go in the booth.
And all of a sudden, you become famous.
I mean, I fuck with EasyE the long way.
Yeah.
Fuck with Easy E.
I love Easy E's music.
But he raps like somebody who had never rap before.
Right, but.
I mean, he does.
I mean, Easy E's music is amazing.
I'm not dissing easy, but I'm saying he wraps like somebody who didn't rap.
But we talk about in the 80s, it sounds amazing.
It sounds amazing now.
He heard the voice that went with NWA.
It was just fascinating.
And you had the EZE voice.
You had the beats from Dr. Dre.
You had the chemistry from MC Wren and an ice cube.
It was phenomenal.
And what I'm happy to sit here and tell the world, I was there.
Ain't no hearsay, ain't no what I heard.
I was there.
And I seen it with my own eyes.
And it was a brilliant thing to see.
It's like any group from TLC to the Beatles, right?
Groups break up.
up, it's life.
You know, I wish that the record companies wouldn't come into the game knowing they're going
to rob the artists.
Because some artists don't get their paperwork and all that stuff, but the record labels came
in being honest from jump, it wouldn't have this problem.
When I sit back now and I think of a person wanting to be a rapper or wanting to be
an R.B singer or a rock band.
the people who win in that gang
are the executive producers, the record companies.
You don't see their faces.
But if you know somebody that's a rock star and blew up,
what did the record company make?
See, what did the record company make?
And look where a rap is going there.
To be a rapper today is
you're the number one target in the world.
You don't know if somebody's going to kill you.
It's going so bad that you can't rock your jury.
Even though kids today should know,
you rock your jewelry on stage,
not to the local mall, not to the local swap meet, right?
Because people will kill you.
You can't flaunt in front of people who are struggling.
Yeah, we ain't got nothing.
Who ain't got nothing.
They'll kill you.
And then the people will kill you.
Got to know that once you take jury off someone,
no matter if I spent $10,000, $20,000, unless you're going to wear it, if you part it,
and you ain't even get as much that the person paid for.
So everybody's doing something, making bad decisions and making penitentiary choices.
That's why we're going to get up some therapy, right?
You had some.
Can I ask about child support?
Yeah, good.
Well, you made the comment, things that are pushed on us in this country
when we were talking about therapy, depression, all of us.
that. And then you said, child support, when you were throwing your laundry list of things,
you don't agree with child support? So do you know the history of child support law?
No. Okay, so the government gives each state 40, 50, 70 million, if not more a year to push child support.
This is what the government does that people don't know this. So when a woman sleeps with a man,
watch what I'm going. When a woman sleeps for the man, what I'm trying to tell everybody is, let's not get in the bed and start having children right away.
Because if we have sex right now and you broke, I'm broke.
We both broke.
You never met me before in your life, but we fucked.
I'm nether than you.
But now you want to have a baby by me.
Never met my mother.
I never met your mom.
Nobody in your family.
But yet you make the choice to have a child.
Now, watch where I'm going, right?
We made the choice to have a child.
So now for this moment on, I may not even like you.
I just wanted to fuck you that night.
Right?
Vice versa.
She's not.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So watch where we're going.
So here we are.
But that's easy to say until you find out the motherfucker ain't got no money.
So I don't think it's fair that I'm broke, you broke, but you're going to go to court for child support.
Watch what I'm going.
Because when a man can't make it, they put on child support when a woman can't make it, they put on child support.
When a woman can't make it, they give her Medicare.
Okay.
It's so bad.
No, no, no.
I love it.
No, no, that's not bad.
Hey.
Go ahead.
I'm missing it.
No, I'm losing my thoughts.
No, don't lose your thought.
Don't lose your thought.
I want to go back.
Okay.
We don't have money.
Yes.
Right.
You nut inside me.
Yes.
I let you.
Yes.
I get pregnant.
Yes.
Okay.
The moment you did that, you made a, there was a risk.
Maybe you let them.
Okay, we'll just say I let them.
Just for the second of it.
Yeah, yeah, yes, yes.
So the moment you do that, we both made a decision in a risk.
Mm.
Okay.
What's the mm for?
Because the um, the um is, you got nothing than you,
but you get to make a true lifetime decision.
Now, watch where I'm going.
Based on my experiences, though, my experiences.
See, my kids grow.
So, based on my experiences, and what I tell young men,
don't put yourself in that situation.
But I tell men, don't you nut in no female.
One, if your money's not right,
and two, so you can never have a woman
that have control over you.
Because it's just like you said.
You said, exactly what I said?
You said, you nutted in me.
I'm going to make this decision to keep this baby.
And the person may not like you to be his mother.
Because what I'm saying is to be the mother of his child.
So what I'm saying to you,
sex makes babies, not love.
True.
And I want people to really understand
what the fuck I'm saying.
Sex makes babies, not love.
So when you're heated the moment,
you heard what she said.
She's getting ready to bring your ass down
if you're nutting her.
That's what she's saying.
Well, I'm not broke.
No, no, no.
I'm talking about just a female nutters.
Don't make it personal because that's what we're doing.
That's where you're going again.
It's so funny.
Because you make things personal.
Yeah, you go, this is my life.
this is how I feel.
And then when you say it's going,
so watch what I'm going on.
I'm telling the story about my journey
because what she's saying is absolutely right.
About I've 11.
How many kids you got?
I have seven.
How many baby mothers?
Seven.
That's why I'm telling my story.
Okay.
So wait.
So you, so with love and respect,
you exhibited absolutely zero percent discipline
over the entire time of that, right?
So you're scarred from...
No, not scarred.
You are.
You're scarred.
You're scarred.
But you're telling young men not to do it.
do what you did.
Exactly.
Which I get.
That's what we're doing.
Are you mad you're on child support?
I've never been on child support.
He's not.
Okay.
Well, that's because you take care.
He's very thankful.
That's beautiful.
And obviously, most men are not like you.
But you almost made it seem like, and it kind of goes back to the first time we started
talking about this man and woman thing of if the woman decides to have the baby, then it's wrong
that she asked for child support because she's.
Here's what I'm trying to say.
Let's make sure we clear.
Because, yes, please.
Let's make sure we, here's what I'm saying.
Because he took it the highway too.
If a man, and this is why tell men that you have $25,000 in the account before they even start thinking about.
At least.
All right.
But that goes for the fingerprint, I'm on your side.
Okay.
Yeah, at least.
Yeah, let's make sure we clear.
But I'm for both.
Yeah, okay, cool.
Okay, it's very good.
I'll say the same thing.
Yeah, go both way.
This is what I'm trying to say, ladies and gentlemen, if you ever seen my show, my journey,
you don't want it to get what me and this young lady is talking about.
Don't want this to happen.
Because do I believe in child support?
Yeah, for a guy who don't want to take care of his kid.
But I think a man and a woman, if it's just that about sex,
if there's some love, everybody could work.
Because there are some men who take care of their children.
And the female got to pay child support.
Now, when the female has to pay child support,
most of the world looks upon that, oh, I can't believe that man,
asking that woman for child support
because they think that's not manly.
That's what they think. It's not manly.
But the guy may not have a good job
like the woman has. So he needs help.
So what I'm saying,
what I'm saying...
Yeah.
You don't know the backstory.
Right. But what I'm saying is,
don't put yourself in that situation
for someone to make a choice
about your life. If you're going to have sex,
have sex, pull out,
nut in the face.
Come on a bat.
Jesus Christ.
Wait, that was okay.
You would say something like this too, so stop.
I would.
You could talk just like this.
He's right.
This is what I will say, though.
I think we're talking about in this child support situation, we can move on from here
because I want to ask you about specific comedians.
Yes.
We're talking about woman and we're talking about man, but what we're not talking about
is child.
So child needs food.
Child need shoes.
Child needs stuff.
If the man don't love the woman,
if the man don't love her,
he should love his daughter or his son.
No.
So once again, man has sex with women.
Man has sex with women.
He does not love woman.
Woman has a baby that is your child,
your son, your daughter.
I know exactly what you're saying
You don't think that man should love that child
But it doesn't happen like that way all the time
Okay, well he said he should
He changed it.
He should, he should, he should
But it doesn't happen that way of the time
Because
There's someone who bring pain
To a motherfucker relationship
And a dude don't have nothing to do
With the woman or the child
Was so accurate
You should want something to do with your child
Yeah, but it doesn't go that way
I can line up millions of men
I'm just raised different
The guys, the men
No, man, what I've always been telling you is you come from a different world.
I've said that to you off air.
You move and think, you should be married.
Are you married?
No.
See?
But ladies.
Well, he is a partner.
It's fine, yeah.
Yeah, but you are a woman's dream.
This guy.
No, I'm being honest.
Listen to him, I'm saying you are the way you think woman's dream.
I'm a straight nigga.
Right.
We think and move differently.
You're not a woman's dream?
I'm not talking about me.
I want to, I want a band to have a spotlight.
No, no, no, no, don't spotlight me.
No, Van is the, from my journey, the nicest guy on the planet.
But I'm not.
See, me, but me, okay, no, I'm saying.
But me, what I'm saying, all these questions, there's really no right answer.
You know what the right answer is?
The person who's going through it at that moment.
This decision that you make at that moment, is it right for you?
Because everything what we're doing here, we're giving our own experiences.
What we believe, that may not happen for the millions of people watching.
Everybody is going to have something different to the different experience that they're going to go through.
Some guys and someone are going to like what you're saying.
Some guys are going to like, yeah, nigger, fuck.
Look them out.
And somebody's going to,
Van's going to be like,
yeah,
I like Van.
I see the perspective.
The voice change.
See how you do?
See how you do?
I like Van.
I'll be that guy in the crew
that says,
hey,
we should love our children
and not be winning.
I can be that guy.
What I'm saying is we're all right.
It's based on.
No, we're not.
No, we're all right.
Listen to me, people.
Listen to me.
It may not be right to you,
but it's going to be right to somebody else.
Let me ask you about this.
I saw recently,
Monique got on Tyler Perry.
Monique don't like Tyler Perry.
Yes, yes.
For whatever reason.
I'm sure you know, Monique.
I'm sure you've had it.
What's the truth about Monique?
Because there's two different media perceptions of her,
I feel like sometimes.
One is that she is a freedom fighter in the industry
that is standing up for people
and making sure that the little people in industry
don't get shit on by the rich people.
And then the other one is,
that Monique always got a problem with somebody
and like she is her own worst enemy.
And I ask you that because it seems like
a lot of times some of the comics
have problems with the business
and they talk about the business
or other comics or other people
and it goes public and maybe they make problems for themselves.
What do you think?
And that's my point again about how I move differently.
Yeah.
I think that Monique and all the comics,
they got to do what they got to do for them.
There's certain things that I don't allow myself to talk about
because I'm a different type of man.
And comedy to me is I'm not your true comedic comedian, right?
I'm a hustler who got lucky in this game.
So I'm a businessman.
Comedy happens to be my side hustle.
I use comedy to help me do other things
and business around the world.
So if I could go on social media and flex,
my world would be different.
But because the way I move, there's an OG.
My rule, and I say it all the time,
stay low-key and flexicated.
occasionally.
When I see the comedians going through whatever they're going through,
I won't be involved because I'm so far off from it.
I don't want to get caught up in Norhe said she said.
I don't want to get caught up or T.K. say this.
I do listen.
I do acknowledge because I came up in this business in 1985 when Robin Harris out in L.A.
And Michael Williams started Comedy Act Theater on 43rd in Crenshaw before all this comedy
the way it is today.
I was there when we was only getting $20 a show.
So I've seen it come from the dirt
to being a global phenomenon.
So I don't get caught up in that stuff.
I don't have to do what they're doing.
Then what would be your take on social media comedians?
Because I feel like I read something,
maybe I was listening to something you were talking about,
about how, you know, like their fame,
they get millions of followers or fans very fast.
But you said something like,
they rushed, I guess, what you guys have put in the work to do for years and years and years.
It's just the world, no, it's like everything that we talked about, the way from domestic violence on, the way of thinking has changed, the world has changed.
What I mean by that is, that's not just comedy.
Let's take Jake Paul, who's a on YouTube boxer and made more money than most boxes who've been fighting 15, 20 years, right?
He found the way to milk the game.
and he found the gimmick, and it works for him.
Same with some comedians.
They found the way to go on YouTube, do skits or whatever,
and get thousands of fans, and always got it's nothing wrong with that.
The world changed.
What I was also saying, too, is that some comedians,
that they had the fan base now faster because years ago,
you would have to go on Def Jam, Johnny Carson,
Arsena Hall Show, and get you three minutes of TV time, right?
That's all you had on these shows, three to five minutes.
And hopefully people saw you.
Then you got a TV sitcom.
Then you got a movie.
Now, a person wants to be seen every day on TV, your phone right now,
Instagram is your television show.
So if you want to be seen every day, you build that up, you build that up.
Sometimes you may not have the talent as a comedian to go do national tours
because it takes years of experience of that.
I was saying that a lot of comedians have the following, but not the talent yet.
Because one, that's what I really thought.
Then I've been starting to watch comedians lately, young comics.
And I see the Desi Banks how they are growing into the game.
He's funny.
Yeah, he's funny.
And I went to go see in New Jersey.
I went to go see Chico Bean.
Oh, I like Chico.
Watch this.
And I'm sat in the back, you know, just watching them.
You know, as a comedian in 40 years, you know, who's good or who's not good.
And I wanted to see if I saw any weaknesses in him.
And said, after 15 minutes, said, okay.
30 minutes?
I don't know.
45 minutes.
I said, oh, shit.
By the time the show was all, I was a fan.
Because he was solid.
All the way.
And that meant a lot to me.
To the point, I went backstage, shook his hand.
And of course, I thank God he knew who I was
because I think it, sometimes I don't think people know why him,
but he knew I was.
And he said, no, oh, gee, we rock with you, TK.
So Chico Bing, I salute you,
because he was knowledgeable.
He grew up listening to R&Bs with his mom,
because he's a music phenomenon.
You know, he could sing and know all the lyrics.
And when I see people know the songs
to every fucker song in the world,
they own iCloud they own Spotify i'm fascinated because i don't even know four songs and i'm 60-something years
old i know i want you back by the jackson five ABC by the jacksler five straight out of
Compton right and um what shit maybe just three and the coldest line and hip-hop to me to this day
because i don't know too much about my music was easy e when he said so what about the bitch you got shot
fuck up. That's classic line to me.
Okay, last thing I'm going to ask you before you get out of here.
You're being very generous with your time.
This fucking guys trying to...
I could talk to you all day.
I mean, we go back and forth.
No, no, we don't argue.
Yeah, we're...
This is what I call communication and...
It's this communication and telling you we're going to do another podcast.
We're going to bring TK on a lot.
And then we're going to have a therapist here for him.
Okay.
I've never talked to you about...
Because Will Smith has
just dropped.
Yeah.
I listened to it.
Shockingly not bad.
I was not expecting Will to come back
with something that was actually listenable
after all of this time.
He hadn't wrapped.
He hadn't wrapped in 20 years.
I listen to it.
It's pretty dope.
I mean, I wouldn't.
It's all right.
It's good.
It's like I was fucking with it a little bit.
But he addressed the
the Oscar slap with Chris Rock.
Okay.
Talked a little bit about it.
in his rhymes.
Forget about what he said on the song.
What did you think about that,
about how that shaped or influenced
or had an effect on,
should I say, comedy?
Because, you know, Chris was making a joke.
From the standpoint of a man protecting his family
or whatever, we're about three years out from it now.
Looking back on that,
with somebody with your background,
what did you think of that whole thing
and how each guy handled that?
I was, it was complicated.
Because when you're friends with both people,
you don't, you have to choose a side.
I didn't choose no side.
I see Mr. Rock, I say hello,
and never ask him about his situation.
When I see Will Smith,
I hang with his crew,
I never ask, because to me, a real man
when you get around certain people,
you ask maybe, are you okay?
Yeah.
And you don't discuss it.
And like I said, all your life experience
is teach you certain things
and give you example.
Back in 1998,
a Rob Puffy Cones.
True story.
You did what?
A Rob Puffy is 19908.
And it was called
Grand
Attempted Grand Larsoning.
So it was big news.
So I'm in Atlanta
and Shaquille O'Neal is there.
Why haven't I heard about this?
I'm assuming you've talked about it before.
You was a kid.
Yeah.
And
I'm at a party.
Matter of fact, it's Keith Sweats party.
It's clever.
Atlanta. And Shaq saw me, and I'll never get this. He didn't ask me about what happened.
He was a man. That's how men's supposed to move. He said, are you okay? And I say, yep,
and we left it alone. And to men, if you listen to me, whenever someone is going through a situation
or having a problem, don't put your foot on their neck. Use their experience to make sure
is not you.
And then use it also to say,
I wish that person well
and going about your business.
Men have a tendency and women have a tendency
that when a man is down,
they keep pouring fire.
They pile on.
Keep on fire on them.
And like I said,
all of us are going to have different
experiences, different stories.
You know, I come up,
everybody knows my crew,
you know, Eric Bond Zip,
Patient Jack, Frankie B.
See, I came up with some real killers.
I came up with some real people.
We move, Supreme, we move, we think differently.
And Shannon, Bossalone,
like, I came up with some real, some real heavyweights.
So when I think back...
Are you the last one left?
Most of my friends are dead.
And some of those got in jail.
Yeah.
Doing life.
Cut my friends just got out.
Doing 30-something years.
You know, I just had a big party in Queens.
Everybody came to a party.
So when I think of my crew and my era,
and I think of you guys,
because like I said, y'all about my kid's age.
I would never expect my kids to think the way I think.
My daughter, but she even gets upset
of some of the things I say.
But she has so much.
power over me
that if I do say something
and she acted like
you was acting
and she'll say,
Dad, I had to change up.
Change it up, yeah.
Like, I don't,
that's why I don't let my daughter
is come to none of my shows
because I talk so much shit
that at my daughter,
I was out in Paris
and my daughter's over there.
I had to tell her to leave the show
so I could be me
because when my door's at my show,
I talk a lot of shit.
It's obvious, you know.
And you have to have lived to understand what we're talking about.
If you're in your 30s, you would never understand.
I'm saying?
Never.
You might pretend that you do.
But you do know, you say 39, you do know in 30 years you're going to be a lot, think,
and move a lot different.
I hope so, in some ways.
But some people don't see that far ahead.
Some people are like, no, I'm smart now.
or I'm a man now, or I'm a woman now.
There's no substitute for experience.
Except for maybe therapy.
A great person told me that.
And that was the great Paul Mooney.
Oh, rest and peace.
Yeah, Paul Mooney back in 1987, me and Paul Mooney was talking.
And he, I'm glad that I can mention that.
There's no substitute for experience.
Why are you, Puffy?
That's a whole, 1999.
I just said men don't ask that type of question.
Why you did say, are you okay?
You're supposed to say, you're going to say.
I want to know.
Nah, fuck that.
No.
We ought to pay.
I ain't no man, man.
I'm a therapy, niggins.
It's a situation now that's Ward on the Bridge.
I bought it up for what reason, I don't know.
But I didn't use it for bait for you the time and to.
Well, I'm my interview.
What you expect me to do?
What you expect me to.
Yeah, that's true.
So, but at the same time,
I have to be mad enough to stay disciplined
because of my friend.
You told me about the robbing the puppy.
You wouldn't have known about it about when it's anything.
I totally agree.
But it's not something that...
Did you rob him at the freak off?
You can Google it.
You called him while he was...
No, Puff used to throw some...
I used to go to Puffy's parties.
I know.
And Puff didn't have the freak off.
Let me tell you something right now.
Let me tell you something.
A crazy fucking movie
that we could do it together
would be of you and your crew robbing a freak off.
Y'all get there.
That's not something I would do.
And it's fucking baby all.
everyone, niggas is slipping around.
Matter of fact, let's stop right there.
I don't want to, no, no, I got to stop you.
Y'all robbing the freakoff is crazy.
Because then you've got to ask the question,
did TK participate for maybe like 20 minutes
in the freak off before he robbed it?
Here's the thing, and ignore everything he just said.
I don't want my name associated with robin, baby,
all, anything that's crazy, right?
Yeah.
Your birthday is this week. You said you just had a birthday party?
How is you going to celebrate?
Well, what I do? My birthday is April 3rd, which is,
Aries makes sense.
Same way. April 16?
April 16th?
Yeah.
So my April 3rd, I always tell people I'm a year older than what I am.
The reason why I do that is because, and me and Van was talk about this in, I think, in New Orleans.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Everybody in my family died before I was 40.
So every year that I make it, I always say that I'm a year older to put that in the universe because words are powerful to make sure that I make that year.
For every year I'm standing and rolling and doing my thing is really an achievement because in my immediate family, nobody lived that long.
So right at this moment, and I'm only 6 or 7 years old, this is young.
People, if you're in your 30s, baby, you think it's old until you get your 60 and you took care of your guy.
Goddare, this is young as fuck.
You know, so I feel young.
You know what I mean?
Like, I'm not walking around with a cane and, you know, health ailments and no wheelchair.
nothing like that.
So I'm truly, truly blessed
pushing the finest cars in the world.
You know, I got a little bit of AARP money,
Medicare, Blue Cross, Blue Shield.
You know, the young women like you like a dude like me
because I put you on my Medicare, you know.
Well, you're not going to have it for very long
because your guy Trump is about to get rid of it.
Yeah, God bless that, man.
He don't even work.
So you go.
He just wakes up.
He just wakes up.
The whole Medicaid game is about to be out of here.
Yeah, he's in Paris.
What's the insurance like over there?
Probably socialized.
It's good.
They pay more in taxes, but they, everything is crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
United States of America, Mr. Trump.
We don't know what we're in store for, but before he got elected, what I said,
if Kamala Harris were the one, she divided did some things that we probably wouldn't have liked, right?
Who?
Kamala.
Kamala.
Kamala.
Kamala.
Kamala.
Kamala.
Kamala.
We got to go.
Yeah.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no something like that.
No.
You don't know I'm talking about Ms. Harris.
But I said, but Donald Trump is going to do things
that would take three generations to get back on track.
The things that he's doing, and it's only been two months.
Yeah, hasn't even been that much time.
Imagine what he's going to do in four years if he lives.
My point is, we don't know what's going to happen.
And we are in for something that we cannot.
And like I said, I'm much older than you guys.
I've seen all the presidents.
And normally presidents have always been boring.
We didn't care.
But just right here.
And he's just not messing with blacks.
He's fucking with everybody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Not just, you know, everybody.
The goal is to just try to make it and find a way.
That would be my advice to the world.
Yeah.
You try to make it do the best you can.
Two years ago, you could say it's not going to affect me.
This shit right here can affect you.
Yeah, affect everybody.
Yeah.
You guys, that's T.K. Kirkland, joining us today on higher learning.
My brother.
We took three years, ladies and gentlemen.
Three years, and it was worth the weight.
It was worth the weight.
And like I said, don't judge us.
I'm going to throw myself under the bus.
Don't judge us that we was all wrong.
and I don't need therapy.
Better help is the service
that you guys can call.
If you need some
if you need some therapy,
if you need to get your feelings out.
I can't wait to see what they're going to end it.
I want your daughter to listen to this.
Huh? I want your daughter to hear it.
No, my daughter ain't going to listen to this.
Why not?
I would never let my daughter hear what I got to say.
You don't think she already has.
You couldn't out of you.
That's how you know that.
Yeah, that's kidding.
She has a written.
That's a whole other conversation.
Exactly.
Oh, good interview.
Good interview.
So nice to me.
So you got a kid?
No, well, my exes might as well be my child.
I pay alimony.
Oh, you got caught up, huh?
So he got you.
Yeah.
He got to.
Good.
Yeah.
Got a good.
Yeah, he got to.
Yeah.
I don't know whether to be happy or.
I mean, happy because I got out of it.
No, happy for the niggins.
Oh, oh, I'm so glad you didn't say that on my podcast.
Shit, he came up on half a million.
Yeah, I'm happy for the niggins.
Yeah.
Why?
Because it's good sometimes for the man to win.
See, why?
But you see what I'm saying?
When he's a fully capable, when he's an adult, older than me,
fully capable of working, a licensed professional,
but used the system to come up, took advantage of me.
You okay with that?
No, just because it's you personally, no.
But watch for what I'm about to tell you.
Tell me.
Women been doing it to men
since the beginning of time.
That doesn't make it right.
Oh, yes, the fucking.
I don't agree with you taking advantage of a system
because it's there.
No.
I don't agree with that.
Damn, we should have, we should have dated this on the show.
Yeah, only because it's you, I'm concerned.
Because we have a relationship now.
Or if it was my daughter, I will be concerned.
But the fact is, it's a system that's there to be concerned.
taken advantage of.
So you should because you can. Is that what you're saying?
If you, I'm at the
point in life, however
the cars play out for you
and the way you lay your head
down on the pillow night, you've got
to be happy. That means
he had to do what he had to do to get you.
I'm sorry that he did that shit.
Listen to me. I'm sorry, darling.
You say you're anti-child support.
You got to be anti-trial. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry that that happened to you.
But I guarantee as you move forward,
through life, we never make that motherfucker ticket again.
Well, I never would.
It's the most expensive mistake I made.
That's my point about the same stuff
I was saying about life.
The same thing
I was saying. I looked, I looked, it's crazy.
When y'all started talking, I looked at Rachel. I thought she was
still wearing the ring.
Oh, my God, no.
I thought the ring.
Oh, okay.
So what I'm saying is...
I need to be saved now.
Your experiences have taught you
who to stay away from
and who to talk.
Am I right the wrong?
Yeah, you're right.
That's my point, love.
But that, I mean, we have to congratulate.
No, no, no, no. As a G.
Salute that niggins.
My son, nigga, I'll buy it. Now, like I said, but it's personal, nothing.
We're family.
It's personal.
We're family.
We're family.
I feel sorry that they're happy for you.
Thank you.
You know?
But for the system?
Oh, that's one for the fucking crew.
There's a lot of people who think like you.
There are a lot of people who do.
That nigga, God damn.
Donnie, did you get all of that?
Yeah, we've been rolling.
Okay.
I love it.
I want that cutout as a social breakout before the interview.
All right, I got her.
What you want to pose?
What you, y'all just talking?
Because it's a big deal, because he's not black, too, by the way.
He's a white belt.
Oh, even better.
What?
Good for him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, shit.
All I told from that is that you rejoice.
Oh, man.
Get that on tape.
You're dead on tape.
She talked about domestic violence.
She got a white motherfucker.
Pimple to the game and got a fucking hair fucking million who raised you.
A federal judge.
Oh, my God.
All right.
I'm wounded.
You wounded by T.
I need to decompress.
I don't want to talk about men in the month of April.
How about that?
How about that?
I'll tell you all something right now.
Conversation you guys need to hear, you know, you got the older guys in your life.
Sometimes you guys wonder, sometimes you guys wonder, you know, Van has different friends and stuff like that.
Y'all don't see me pulling.
Y'all don't see me doing the work.
You don't see me doing the work.
Y'all see me talking about therapy.
talking about things, asking questions.
Y'all don't see that part of it.
Y'all don't see me pulling, tugging, doing the work.
Y'all chose to get rid of people
and not have conversations, but not me.
Not Van, no-race Lathen.
I don't see color.
And so it begins.
Take the thinking caps off.
Take your thicket caps off.
Take your black forces off.
Take your black air forces off.
Oh, Van Halifin Jr.
Rachel Lynn Lutzy.
Bye, guys.
