Starting point is 00:00:00 The Home Tech Podcast is supported by you. To find out more, go to hometech.fm support. This is the Home Tech Podcast for Friday, January 8th from Denver, Colorado. I'm Jason Griffin. And I'm Seth Johnson. Jason, happy new year. Happy new year to you. Happy new year. Yeah. Welcome to 2021. Starting off with quite the bang today. Yeah. Here Wednesday, January 6th.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Insanity in the Capitol. Insanity all over. I don't even know what to say or think about this. This is, I feel like I'm in a third world country. It's hard to know, right? It's like the twilight zone. Yeah. You just never thought in my life that I would see something like that.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Nope. Nope. Not at all. Ugh. Yeah. Well, we thought in my life that I would see something like that. Nope. Nope. Not at all. Ugh. Yeah. Well, we won't belabor that. People don't come here to Home Tech to – they can get that from plenty of other places. How was your New Year in brighter news?
Starting point is 00:00:58 In brighter news? New Year's was great. I had a great news. How about you? Did you pop any fireworks? It was good. We did not. We did not do any fireworks. I took the week off. Generally, I did a little bit of work, but took the week off between Christmas and New Year's. So really just laid low, hung out with the kids. My wife and I had originally planned to do kind
Starting point is 00:01:18 of a staycation at a really nice resort here in Denver that has all kinds of Christmas activities. But we had booked that several months ago when things were looking a little better and ended up canceling for obvious reasons. So, yeah, just laid low. We did a prime rib on Christmas, and it was so good. We liked it so much that we did another one on New Year's. So we ate well. Nice, nice. Yeah, we stayed inside.
Starting point is 00:01:43 We cooked—actually, we cooked bouffe bourguignon. I don't know if you've ever had that. Nice. We stayed inside. Actually, we cooked bouffe bourguignon. I don't know if you've ever had that. It's a favorite dish around the house. It's a French beef stewish kind of thing. I was going to say, it sounds very French. It's beef and potatoes. You're speaking my language there.
Starting point is 00:02:03 It's a little complicated. It's not that complicated on how to cook it it but it does take some prep time to do and and uh yeah yeah no fireworks so i didn't do any fireworks good good good that's probably a good thing we did have now i did to make it a pretty expensive mistake this year though um along with the the french dish we had to get you know some french champagne right so we actually i don't know if we were gifted this thing but we had a bottle of that uh vuv i don't know it's like you'd recognize it if you saw it in the store uh it's like yeah yeah i know of it yep yeah it's like the 50 bottle of bubbles yeah it's high end high class yeah yeah well well it only took like a sip and uh and i got sent back to the store for some more so uh it's a pretty expensive mistake to make oh i see okay from now on that's
Starting point is 00:02:57 i guess that's what we're drinking i don't know how long i can afford a 5050 bottle of champagne, but. Oh, that's funny. Cool. Well, good, good stuff. I, um, before we jump in here to the show, I wanted to quickly mention in light of the new year, a lot of people are thinking about resolutions and kind of getting a grip, getting your productivity together is a pretty common one. And I wanted to plug very quickly, a white paper, Seth, that I put out on a personal blog I started. I haven't talked about a lot on the show, but over at pillarsofimpact.com. And this white paper is called The TAP Method. And this is a kind of an aggregation of a lot of principles and techniques that I've thought about and developed over the years in terms of just being able to stay on top of things and manage follow through and kind of deal with the complexity and chaos that so many of us do in our day-to-day work.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And so this is a free white paper, put a lot of work into this, had a great designer help me. So it came out really beautiful. It's a quick light read would really encourage people to go check it out. And you can find that at pillars of impact.com slash tap TAP. So go check that out. Sites looking good. you've been working on this for a while you you've you you're you've uh you you let me know that this you were you were working on this a little while back ago and then like it's it's it's looking good man i just thank you
Starting point is 00:04:16 website it looks great yeah it's it's really come come together it it's been a slow burn definitely i think uh it was it was about a year ago, actually right around this time last year when I bought the domain, um, and started, started chipping away at it. So it took me, it took me close to a year to, to get it to a point where, where I felt like I had enough on there that, that it was worth sharing. And like I said, these, there, there's a bunch of blog posts and stuff on the site, but these productivity tips here are just, they're, they're things that I've found helpful and I really felt compelled to kind of put this together and share
Starting point is 00:04:47 in hopes that they'll help others. So go check that out. Again, it's pillerofimpact.com slash tap, T-A-P. Yep, put a link to that in the show notes. Well, Jason, what do you say we jump into some home tech headlines? Let's do it. Fred Bargetzi, CTO of Crestron, has passed away.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Crestron released a statement on Bargetzi's death. His impact to our company cannot be overstated. The impact he's had on our industry is even greater. Under Fred's leadership, he challenged us not only to push the boundaries of what's possible, but to do so with an eye towards making the world a better place. So pretty sad news coming out of Crestron. Yeah, it is. I, I never got to know Fred, but he's obviously really well-known and highly regarded in the industry. I certainly saw him around at trade shows and stuff. And, um, this was really
Starting point is 00:05:37 sad news, only 52 years old. And that's just so young, too young, So young. And so he had just celebrated his 30th anniversary at Crestron. Says he leaves behind a legacy of innovation, creativity, enthusiasm, and kindness that has helped shape the AV industry into what it is today. So there's been a big outpouring on social media of, you know, condolences and sort of tributes to Fred's legacy. And yeah, if you're part of the industry, definitely this was a loss for all of us. He was a really massive contributor to not just Crestron, but the industry as a whole. So he'll be missed.
Starting point is 00:06:15 CTO, so over the entire organization of the technology that Crestron puts out, that's not understated. That's a big job. I mean, looking at Crestron's website, I am just floored every time of the breadth of product that they offer across the industry, like across both residential and commercial. It's simply stunning what that crew can do and put out. Like, just, it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:41 It's absolutely amazing what they do. So yeah. Agreed. It's amazing. It's absolutely amazing what they do. Yeah, agreed. Moving on from there into different topics here, Samsung Electronics is touting its groundbreaking 110-inch Samsung microLED in the run-up to CES 2021, which, Seth, starts next week. That definitely crept up on me with it being an all-digital event this year. Unlike any other displays currently available on the market, the Samsung microLED delivers astonishing color, vibrancy, and brightness with self-emissive LED display
Starting point is 00:07:09 technology. And so you might recognize this technology. It was first introduced in the form of the wall, the big configurable modules that could be installed professionally. With this new 110-inch micro LED, Samsung is delivering this experience for the first time in a traditional TV form. So pretty interesting stuff. Interesting. It's like a wall, but a little wall, a micro wall. They should call it the micro wall. I don't know why they're calling it micro LED.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Maybe you should apply for a job there. I should. In marketing. Such a great marketer. Yeah, this is the one, if all the like it had all the modules the little panels that would all get put together and yeah they had the massive wall up at trade shows and so they've kind of scaled this technology down now into a prefabricated form so you don't have to deal with putting together all the the modules yourself according to this this press
Starting point is 00:08:01 release and um yeah they'll be bringing this into, this is a prefabricated home, or a prefabricated offering, is what they're calling it. I'm trying to think it'd be good for like a home theater, but I don't know. Like, it seems like if you just want a big giant TV, like it doesn't seem like, and maybe home theater people can reach out
Starting point is 00:08:19 and let me know if I'm thinking like wrong about this, but I would think like in a theater, you'd want something, like you'd want to put the speakers behind the screen. You couldn't do that with this, but I would think like in a theater, you'd want something like, you'd want to put the speakers behind the screen. You couldn't do that with this. Obviously you'd have to redesign where the speakers went. And then I don't know,
Starting point is 00:08:33 maybe, maybe for like the lumens and everything that this kind of, this thing can do. That's, you know, if you're getting, if you're going for video quality, sometimes you have to like stack projectors to get super bright whites and, and that kind of thing
Starting point is 00:08:45 like maybe this performs a little bit better than a projector would so i don't know yeah yeah as always there's going to be pros and cons and trade-offs and i'm sure one is is not uh objectively better than the other as far as this versus a high-end projection um all all depends on your your unique situation and preferences but yeah yeah, this micro LED technology, I admittedly have not stayed up completely on it, but my understanding of it is that it really has the benefits of being able to deliver like the really deep black levels
Starting point is 00:09:17 and very precise levels of brightness that OLED's known for without some of the, I guess, risks or perceived risks of burn in and things like that that can be associated with OLED. So pretty interesting technology. Yeah. So a nice 110-inch theater screen. By modern, like 10 years ago, I'm saying 10 years and laughing, longer than that ago, when I was putting in home theaters, 110 was pretty common, 120 was pretty common. And nowadays, I think the modern projector screens are a little bit wider than that. Yeah. Yeah. But it will still give you a good image, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Yeah. And one last thing on this. Yeah, I was going to say Kevin makes a point um with the theater as far as projection goes certainly a valid point seth getting those speakers behind the screen can be very ideal in certain theater settings but even then you got to make sure that you get a perforated screen right so they're not all perforated so buyer beware um but yeah it is a fair point Like I know in a lot of the higher end theaters, you want that center channel coming from right behind the screen and a perforated projection screen will let you do that. Right, right. Well, speaking of Samsung, you ever wonder if you're holding your plank
Starting point is 00:10:37 properly, Jason, or if you're squatting deep enough? Every day I do, Seth. Every day. Every day. Well, if you wished there was something that could accurately keep track of your reps, Samsung's latest TV might be able to help. A new feature in the company's just announced Q7 series called Smart Trainer uses the camera
Starting point is 00:10:57 to help count each push-up and analyze your form. It's part of Samsung Health app that launched on the company's TV last year. And select models will get the new feature. Kind of cool. I mean, yeah. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:11:11 It feels like, you know, it might be a little gimmicky at this stage. Like, I don't know. I haven't used it, obviously, so it's hard to say. But this article from Engadget said that the author said that she had used it and had fairly good things to say about it. You do have to get your own camera, evidently, so it's not a built-in camera. And I don't know. I thought this was an interesting story just more for the future possibilities of this sort of thing. I suspect that the functionality will be a little bit limited now.
Starting point is 00:11:44 The story also talks about content. So it's going to launch with about 24 workout videos available, and they'll obviously be looking to ramp that up. There's the privacy question, as Eddie points out, just what we want Samsung to be watching us while we're working out. I don't know. That doesn't concern me as much, but I think it's just an interesting application of technology. I'm generally interested in at-home workouts, at-home gym setups. I think that's going to be one of those things that with COVID has grown in popularity, but I suspect that'll be one of those trends that we've talked about that kind of sticks around after once we can hopefully get back to normal.
Starting point is 00:12:24 I suspect many more people will be working out from home than were before proportionally right and so i just thought this was an interesting uh interesting angle from samsung yeah yeah it's this seems i mean it's one of those accelerated things like this workout from home thing were the peloton is a good example like that was becoming super popular and then all of a sudden the pandemic hit and and got to be really really popular i know many people that have those now um but i i i just i i wonder this doesn't this doesn't feel like there are plenty gimmick things that that i've seen come along with technology and actually this just doesn't feel like one
Starting point is 00:13:04 maybe it's like a me too but like it doesn't feel like one. Maybe it's like a me too, but like it doesn't feel like a gimmick. Like I really think that these have some legs to them, like some type, like people love doing these types of aerobic videos and that kind of thing in their home. They don't, you know, and going to a gym. Some people love doing that,
Starting point is 00:13:17 but a lot more people do like to do workouts and stuff in the convenience and privacy of their home. I can see that this particular thing, if it's done right, could have some legs to it. So it'd be interesting to see what they do. Could kind of keep you accountable. And if you're competitive and like to push yourself, I would imagine they'll build it to sort of keep track of maybe previous workouts you've done
Starting point is 00:13:41 and how many pushups did you get in this time versus next time. And that stuff can be really motivating. So yeah, I think there's got some potential. Yeah, what if, now, Samsung owns the TV, right? So they own the technology stack all the way from the top to the bottom, from the power button to the remote. It's all Samsung, right?
Starting point is 00:13:58 So what if they put a little flag in there and it says, don't let me watch TV until I work out. And then what do you do? You got to, you got to get up there. You got to do your jumping jacks. And so you can watch your, your, uh. Now you're thinking. Yeah. I like that.
Starting point is 00:14:12 I had a friend who, um, he had set a rule for himself that was like, I can't watch TV unless I do my rowing or like, no, it's like, I have this show that I like to watch. And so I only allow myself to watch it when I'm on my rowing machine. And he said that all it ended up succeeding in doing was making it so that he didn't watch his favorite show. Yeah. Yeah. So there there's that. All right. Well, moving on from there, discovery waited until the last possible moment to announce where you can stream content from its new service, Discovery+, but now that the service is officially available in the US,
Starting point is 00:14:53 the company has finally shared that information. The list of places where you can download Discovery+, is extensive with almost every popular platform other than the PlayStation 4 and 5 included in the company's launch slate says most notably here uh they've got amazon fire tv they've got roku they've got of course apple tv and android tv as well yeah we talked about this uh a little while back maybe even on the last show about discovery plus coming uh hd tv Food Network, Animal Planet, TLC,
Starting point is 00:15:27 and of course Discovery Channel will be on this particular platform. It sets you back a whole $5 per month for the base tier. And it's an extra $2 every month if you don't want to see any ads. So if you're into those particular networks, you may want to pick this up. I think this is like one of those little add-on things, just like those channels are on cable.
Starting point is 00:15:50 So why not? Yeah. See if you like them. Yeah, I think Rashid in the chat room last week said, these are all the channels that I put on to fall asleep to. Yeah, exactly. So if you're struggling with your sleeping, then you might want to check this out. I mean, it's cheaper than a bottle of melatonin, right?
Starting point is 00:16:10 Yeah, I knock it. I don't have anything against these channels. I don't particularly watch them, but I get it. And at $5 a month, $5, $7 a month, they'll find an audience with this. Right, right. Yeah, they're there for somebody and if uh i i want to say that even like some of those platforms are available on even some of the more free streaming tiers i don't know like i have to go look up like the can i stream it thing website again and find out where you can watch some of those channels and
Starting point is 00:16:41 maybe they're not maybe this is like the only place you can get them if you have the cable cut and you're not on like Comcast or anything like that. So, you know, maybe somebody out there is looking for this. And, you know, they don't need too many people to sign up for it for it to be a success. Five bucks a month. Five bucks a month with ads, though. That sounds kind of...
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yeah, that I thought was a little weird. Yeah. They're making money on the ads. I saw that inserted in there. You got to pay the extra $2 a month with ads, though. That sounds kind of... Yeah, that I thought was a little weird. Yeah. They're making money on the ads. I saw that inserted in there. You got to pay the extra $2 a month to get no ads. And I was like, wait, what? So it's $7 a month, not five. It doesn't make any sense because the other platforms that are doing this are actually...
Starting point is 00:17:17 I don't know. It's really strange. Whatever. We'll see what happens with it and see how this pricing... I mean, if there's anything about streaming, it's like you know the pricing is going to change. It will go up. It will go up. Speaking for the first time since service arrived in April 2018,
Starting point is 00:17:37 ESPN Plus annual plan is getting a price increase. From January 8th, it'll cost new members $59.99 instead of $49.99. The existing annual subscribers will now have it until at least March 2nd to renew their plan for $50. Or, yeah, we should say $60. So, weird. You know, the things that come in at these introductory rates are getting raised again. Yeah, feels like that's just the the standard playbook now and i i don't know if it's just like deliberate like they literally sit down and go okay we're gonna start low and then and then we'll raise it later like maybe they do that or maybe it's just they continue to grow the service and add more content and need
Starting point is 00:18:21 to i don't know but this has become such a common theme, right? Like we saw this all through 2020 and I'm sure we're going to see it continue in 2021, just prices incrementally going up, hopefully more content coming with that. But of course the big gripe being like, Hey, we thought this was supposed to be cheaper than cable. Um, and I still go back to the point that like, it can be like, it's more modular now. So you know, yeah, you still got to kind of pick your bundle and pick what it is that you want. If you want everything, yes, it is going to be as expensive as cable. If you want Apple TV Plus and you want Netflix and you want Disney Plus and you want Hulu and ESPN, then yeah, you're going to pay as much as you did with cable, sure. But you have more options now to keep that price lower. But, you know, along these lines, like this story talks about Disney's announced pricing increases for all of its streaming services.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Hulu went up, Hulu with live TV went up by $10 in December. We had the Disney Plus announcement that's going to cost a dollar more starting in March. And then at some point next year, the story mentions that Disney is going to be adding ESPN to the Hulu interface. So we don't know if that'll come with any additional complexity or anything there. Oh, if it's added to the Hulu interface, it'll be more complex. I'll give you that.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Yeah. Awful. As if that could be. Yeah. We'll have to keep an eye on this. Speaking of pricing, Jason, I don't know if you saw this Peacock pricing that kind of floated by, um, Peacock has this, uh, on Peacock tv.com slash plan slash, uh,
Starting point is 00:19:52 they have, I guess they got, they picked up the office, right? So like they're the only place you can watch the office now and they have adjusted their pricing plans, uh, to be, uh, basically how much of the Office you want to watch. Literally based on The Office. I'm seeing that here. Yeah, their Peacock plan says, watch The Office seasons one and two. That one's free. Then they've got Peacock Premium. The description starts with, unlock every episode of The Office, and then Peacock Premium plus all of The Office. So The Office is literally the anchor of their tiered pricing.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Why not? Why not? It's a funny show, if you like it. I don't know. I haven't watched that one in years, but go back and revisit it. Well, moving on to our final headline this week, the FBI has issued a public service announcement warning U.S. residents about swating attacks taking place via smart home devices, primarily video surveillance cameras and voice control compatible devices. According to the PSA, SWATing is a term used to describe a hoax call made to emergency services typically reporting an immediate threat to human life in order to draw a response from law enforcement and the SWAT team to a
Starting point is 00:21:05 specific location. That's messed up. I had no idea what SWATing was. Yeah, that's one of those old internet troll things where they would figure out where you were in SWAT. It is messed up. It is very messed up. People have actually died from that kind of thing. So interesting that the uh the fbi uh has is issued this i guess it's it's involves i'm not sure how this would work like is it because the cameras can you can get into the cameras and see if somebody's home and say something yeah so it the connection wasn't totally clear to me either but evidently all this is really saying is that they'll if they can hack into your camera and they can see you they like they'll they'll target you because then they can get the video footage of it happening and and that's funny and they can go put that on their
Starting point is 00:21:58 you know like send that out as a video or whatever so it's really the connection to the camera is really just about being able to record it as it happens the voice control thing i didn't i didn't quite get the connection on that one maybe it's just trying to hear the audio but yeah they just want to be able to they just want to be able to record it basically what weirdos awful people kind Kind of sick. Yeah. Yeah. So anyways, good, strong, unique passwords is what the PSA urged. We've talked about that a million times on the show. We're probably preaching to the choir, knowing our audience. Password managers. One more reminder.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Yes. Exactly. Don't make up, if you can make up your password and remember it, it's not a good password. Yeah. That's the best thing. If you can make up your password and remember it, it's not a good password. Yeah. Well, and the PSA specifically mentions they target people who use the same password for email or whatever. So that if there's a big breach of email passwords, then they can go and start running those credentials against cameras and things like that. And that's where they'll find the overlap. Well, that's wonderful.
Starting point is 00:23:04 It started this day off on a horrible foot. Now we're on another one. Okay. that and that's where they'll that's where they'll find the overlap well that's wonderful it started off on a started this day off on a horrible foot now we're on another one okay yeah well yeah full of bad news this week well peacock they have the office woohoo yeah all the links and topics we've discussed tonight can be found at our show notes at hometech.fm slash 334 while you're there don't forget to sign up for the weekly newsletter, which includes even further analysis, as well as other industry news that may or may not have made the show. Again, the link is hometech.fm slash 334. Absolutely. And don't forget, you can join us live in the chat room on Wednesdays, typically starting around 7, 7.30 p.m. Eastern. Find out more at hometech.fm slash live. Well, Jason, nothing in the mail back this week,
Starting point is 00:23:47 but we do have a pick of the week that says show recommendation for Seth. I got this week's recommendation. And it's very timely, Seth, because I noticed you're wearing a NASA shirt as we're sitting here recording tonight. And so this show was recommended to me by my brother, who's a pilot, and it's called The Right Stuff. Have you watched it? I actually have not watched this. It's been on my list of things to watch forever. It's a good one.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I'm not all the way through, but I'm about halfway through, and it's about the Mercury 7. So it's an astronaut show, and it's about the Mercury 7. So it's a, it's an astronaut show. Um, and it's, it's really well done. It's one that, you know, you could get into probably presumably with your wife. I don't know her well, but you know, it's, it's got enough of the character development to not like you don't have to be a space nerd to enjoy it. Right. It's, it's a, it's a well done show that, that i'm really enjoying so you should go check it out it's uh it's a good one this is over on disney plus right now uh it is yep it's
Starting point is 00:24:52 under the national geographic uh part of the disney plus yep yep so i i will i will put that on my list of things to see no my wife does not well i mean she does um she does share the interest in like watching rocket launches when you know not not not i mean she does um she does share the interest in like watching rocket launches when you know not not not i guess as much as i do and my my daughter loves to to watch them on tv partly because that's mostly the only time she gets to watch any tv but like that's that's uh she she does love watching rockets go up and we we've sworn up and down that we're gonna drive over i mean they do them so frequently now like used to uh there would be like a rocket launch or kind of like a space shuttle launch every so often but yeah there are multiple launches per month and most of them
Starting point is 00:25:36 are a few of them are the spacex ones which i mean i don't know we haven't really talked about that much in a while but i mean they are are still chucking those Starlink satellites up there. So those come up and then they come back down and land, which is always really cool to see and hear and feel while you're there. So we've threatened a couple of times to go over and see them, but I'm going to have to put this on the list and watch it. So you're saying it's good. It must be pretty good. It's a good one. Yeah, it really kind of gives you an interesting perspective on like how big of because now like you're just talking about it and you know going into space it's seen a bit of a resurgence i would say in popularity with what's everything going on with spacex and
Starting point is 00:26:15 all of that but it it just doesn't feel like watching the right stuff it just seems like back then this was huge it was everything and these astronauts were like total rock stars. And so it's just really interesting. You get into some of that dynamic and that part's cool. There's another one that I guess to stay on the bad news train here, The Challenger, final flight on Netflix. Oh, no. I haven't seen that one actually.
Starting point is 00:26:44 That's another good one. That's a pure kind of documentary about the Challenger disaster. And I watched that one recently, and it was really interesting as well. You might enjoy that. Interesting, yeah. I guess it hasn't popped up. On Netflix, we kind of go in, and it doesn't really— I think the algorithm's all messed up, right?
Starting point is 00:27:02 It doesn't really show us what I want to see very often. We're mostly in Disney Plus these days, kind of bouncing around shows there. So I don't think the Netflix, and we have a back catalog of Netflix shows to watch, so we really never get off that My List or see anything else. So yeah, I'm going to add this to the list too. Yeah, check that one out as well.
Starting point is 00:27:22 You'd like both of those. I definitely would. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, brother. I've been on a little bit of a space kick here myself all right well you get you'd have to i have you seen the uh the the one over on apple tv plus i think you started that okay yeah yeah yeah we we watched that one uh a while back on your recommendation yeah good show there too uh and i think that show shortly should be popping up on like their second season. So, um, I will keep an eye out for it. If you want a super like futuristic space show, I can't recommend highly enough the
Starting point is 00:27:52 expanse, which is on Amazon. Now it used to be a sci-fi show. Um, but all the physics are like, this is years in the future. Uh, and it's, it's all the, what's really cool is all the physics are right. Like if, if they had these super fast engines that they could power around the solar system in a couple of months with and, and like what,
Starting point is 00:28:18 what it would do to your insides. If, if you like slammed on the gas a little bit too hard. Yep. That's it. It has all the physics correct in that. Yeah, Greg's pointing out it's a great Canadian show. It absolutely is a great Canadian show. It has a lot of good political stuff in it.
Starting point is 00:28:38 There's three different types of shows that are inside this one show. There's the politics side. There's the space pirate side i guess and then there's like this um sci-fi alien side of it too uh and it's been going on for uh this is like a book series so it's kind of hard for me to like keep up there's a huge book series that's behind it and it's been going on for a couple of seasons now i think they're on like their fifth season or sixth season um and it's uh i think this is their last season i'm not sure but it's well worth the watch it's a long watch some of the episodes are boring and slow as like these epic
Starting point is 00:29:15 ones are epic shows are but yeah definitely definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it cool yeah i uh added it to my list. Trading spaceship shows tonight. Yeah. Yeah. No kidding. Good stuff. All right. Well, if you have any feedback,

Starting point is 00:30:18 it's really tough to find a just a standalone fm am am fm tun. Like they don't exist anymore. Yeah. I remember they used to be everywhere, but now not so much. Yeah, I can't think of one that I've seen in years. So Greg's with us live in the chat room here. Maybe we'll hear from him in a second on that. We ended up on Alibaba. I mean, it was that bad,

Starting point is 00:30:57 Yep. Well, that wraps up another week. The first week of Home Tech in the new year of 2021 2021 the optimistic year is what i'll call this one uh how naive we're not getting off to such an optimistic start here but at least not on our show you know it only has up you know you only have uh one way to go and that's up right so like it can only get yeah i mean it could get worse but it can only get, I mean, it could get worse, but it can only get better. That's the optimistic side of this year. So let's just pretend that's, you know, what's going to happen and we'll all be better for it. Yeah, no doubt.
Starting point is 00:31:35 All right. Well, Seth, fun sitting down and recording with you here tonight. I'm going to go try to find like a comedy show or something to watch to lift my spirits after this one. Yeah, I'm going to turn off the TV for sure tonight and I'll turn it back on tomorrow morning
Starting point is 00:31:52 and see what happens. Maybe watch The Office. Yeah, watch The Office. What was that? I'm going to find, I guess it's Hulu had the yada, yada, yada button that you could press.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Yeah, there you go. Exactly. Fire that thing up and just start watching Seinfeld. Yeah, indeed.
