Hello everyone and welcome back to horror stories.
I know many of you use these episodes to fall asleep so before you drift off,
I'd love it if you could leave a comment letting me know where you're listening from around the world.
Also, don't forget to like and subscribe if you're enjoying the episodes.
This is a topic many of you have been persistently requesting for a long time.
It took me quite some time, but I finally found three stories that take place during school lockdowns.
Story one.
It was a typically boring day in calculus class, except that it was Friday in the last period of the day,
which meant the week was almost over, and spring break was about to begin.
Everyone was restless in their seats.
I noticed that we didn't have a test that day, unlike many of my friends in other classes,
so in the middle of the lesson, our teacher just decided to play some quizzes with us on Sporkel.com.
He was a pretty laid-back teacher.
As we were taking a brand logo quiz on the site, I remember the exact moment it happened.
Right after my friend answered a question, the correct answer was Adidas.
The dean's voice came through the loudspeaker.
It was clear that he was nervous and shaken as he told all the teachers that this was not a drill
and that we needed to go into lockdown mode immediately.
I literally got chills, and the hairs of my arms stood up when our usually calm teacher
also looked frightened.
He rushed to turn off the lights and guided us to the back corner of the classroom.
We all sat in silence for about two minutes, and then the usual humming noise from a panel at the back of the room stopped.
That was the signal that the school had cut all electricity.
We all looked at each other, realizing how serious this was.
A few minutes later, we heard a man screaming at the top of his lungs down the hallway.
Two girls in the class started crying, which only made us even more scared.
As the screams got closer to our classroom, the man who sounded completely unhinged,
began banging on the lockers while yelling,
I'm going to kill you all.
At that moment, I genuinely feared for my life.
Our teacher motioned for us to stay silent as we watched each other's reactions.
Then the banging shifted from the lockers to our classroom door.
That's when one of the crying girls screamed, no.
The pounding on the door got even worse as the man kept shouting,
open up. It felt like an eternity while he banged on that door, but eventually he moved down the
hallway, still screaming like a deranged person, until we couldn't hear him anymore. I'd say about 10
minutes later, though it felt like half an hour given the situation. The dean came back on the loudspeaker
and explained what had happened, which honestly surprised me. He told us that a seemingly
mentally unstable person had entered the building and attacked the woman at the reception.
desk, causing her to flee the building screaming. The staff didn't know if the man was armed or not.
This was before the school had cameras or could afford proper security, so the entire school was
completely exposed to something like this. The staff had checked all the hallways and classrooms
but couldn't find him, so the dean instructed the teachers to continue with classes but to keep
all doors locked and not let any students leave for any reason. The most disturbing part, however,
was that one of the janitors working the night shift later found the man sleeping in one of the
storage closets near the far end of the school. According to the rumors that spread among my classmates,
a 44 magnum was sticking out of his pocket. The janitor must have done something careless,
like leaving the closet door open, because by the time the police arrived, the man was already gone.
As far as I know, no one in my class ever found out if they caught him. But I like to think that at this
moment. He's finally getting the help he needs. Story two. My school has two lunch periods. The first is for
all sixth graders and some seventh graders, while the second period is for the other half of the
seventh graders and all eighth graders. The lockdown happened in early October. The day it happened,
it was cloudy and drizzling during the first lunch period. I heard four loud bangs. At first I thought
it was thunder, but suddenly the entire lunch crowd started screaming.
I assumed the kids were just overreacting, but then campus security rushed in and began yelling at everyone to get inside the multi-purpose room.
The kids who were in line to buy lunch had to drop their food and run inside.
My friends and I followed, along with a large group of other students, all of us curious to know what was happening.
Our multi-purpose room is huge, and the back wall is made of clear glass.
As my friends and I were hurried inside, campus security started covering the glass with the wall.
curtains, and there were adults stationed at every exit. My friend Eric, just as curious as the rest
of us, asked one of the adults what was going on. When he came back, he said, you know the
house is right across from TMS? I nodded. There's a mentally unstable man who has barricaded
himself outside his house. He's threatening to kill himself and shoot the police if they try to
evict him. He was walking around the school, staring at the kids in a really creepy way,
Eric told us.
It turned out the man was also a registered sex offender, which made the situation even worse.
We were trapped inside the multi-purpose room for an entire hour, missing two class periods.
After everything was resolved, we were escorted back to our classrooms one by one.
Later, I found out that the man lived next door to my friend Brandy.
She told me that the previous Halloween she had seen the same man in his window,
cutting his arm and writing with his own blood on the glass.
Don't come here or I'll kill you.
Since it was Halloween people, including Brandy, assumed it was just part of the holiday.
But after this horrifying incident, we realized this man was truly unhinged,
and we were all relieved that he never got close to us.
Story 3. Fresh out of college at 22, I landed a job at my old high school as an IT intern working in the basement of the building.
The basement was pretty messy and unorganized, but there was a small office that was out of the school.
actually really nice. It had three large desks, too many fridges, a flat screen TV mounted on the wall,
and best of all, air conditioning, something neither the students nor the teachers got to enjoy
in the rest of the school. The basement also housed all the school's servers and other IT
equipment. I got the job thanks to three of my former computer science teachers, who absolutely
adored me. I would even consider them friends rather than just teachers, and they help me a lot in
securing this position. Everything was going well until something happened a few weeks ago.
At the time, my two co-workers, Dave and Gary, weren't in the office. They were upstairs working on
some paperwork or something. I was eating my sandwich during my lunch break when I got a call from one of the
women in the main office. She told me the school was on lockdown because someone, possibly armed,
had entered the building. There wasn't much I could do other than turn off the lights.
Surprisingly, despite how nice the office was, it didn't have a real door, just a large opening,
and the basement door didn't even have a functional lank. For my safety, I shut off all the lights
in the office and turned off my computer screen. I left my phone on the desk and texted both
Gary and Dave, but neither of them responded. I sat there in the darkness, scrolling through
my phone for about 20 minutes, waiting for a call from the front office to let me know it was safe
to resume work. I had no idea what was happening. I couldn't hear anything from upstairs,
and I wasn't allowed to make calls until I was informed the lockdown was over. Then the loud
basement door creaked open, and the noise echoed through the basement and into my office.
I stood up from my seat wondering if I should call Gary or Dave, desperate for any information.
Suddenly, someone came running down the stairs, their footsteps getting closer to my office.
I shoved my chair back and crawled under my desk.
Someone entered the office but didn't turn on the lights.
There was only silence.
I can't even describe the fear I felt at that moment.
It seemed like if I made the slightest noise, I was a dead man.
Then out of nowhere my phone buzzed with a text message.
I felt my entire world collapse as I clenched my teeth in fear.
The footsteps moved closer until they stopped right in front of me.
Finally, in total panic, I jumped out for,
under the desk, surrendering, and begged whoever it was not to kill me. Just then, someone grabbed
my arm and pulled me up. It was a man wearing a red plaid shirt, jeans and a black and red cap.
He said, It's okay, I'm just hiding down here with you. What's going on upstairs? I whispered to him,
explaining what I knew. He mostly ignored my response and instead asked if there was a way out
through the basement. I told him yes and pointed to the exit. Before he could do anything else,
I asked. Who are you? There was a brief moment of silence before he explained that he had come to
pick up his son when a teacher told him to hide. As he spoke, I glanced at my phone and saw
the text message I had just received from Dave. It read, dude, this is insane. Some guy with a gun
just shot Mr. Buckley. He's wearing a red shirt and a cap. Whatever you do, don't come upstairs.
I was about to read the text out loud when it hit me. I looked up and my stomach dropped.
The man noticed my suspicious expression. In a panic, the only thing I could think to do was
run toward the stairs. A gunshot rang through the basement, and I could hear the bullet ricochet
off something metal in the darkness. But thank God it missed me, and I managed to make it upstairs.
Thankfully, the police were already stationed at all the exits, including the basement door.
The second the man opened it, they caught him.
More good news.
Our teacher, Mr. Buckley, survived the shooting.
Later, it was determined that the man and Mr. Buckley had some kind of personal issue,
though the details were never disclosed.
All we know is that there was nothing Mr. Buckley could have done to justify that kind of reaction.
And I know one thing for certain.
The sound of that gunshot will haunt me forever.
