Welcome to How to Date, the podcast that teaches you what you need to know about
navigating modern romance. I'm podcaster and author Elizabeth Day. And I'm Mel Schilling
Relationship Coach. And every week, we aim to give you the skills you need to show up as yourself
on the apps and in real life. From how to survive heartbreak to building confidence and loving
yourself first. From managing clear communication to how to handle rejection. Because of all the
work I've done on failure since being a serial data, I now understand that within every rejection
there is a seed of protection. You are being protected from the relationship that is not right
for you and one that you can discount but acquire necessary data from in order to do something
slightly differently next time.
From ghosting to breadcrumming, microcheting and love bombing and why sometimes the most important
person you can date is yourself. Imagine coming to a relationship and saying in your mind,
I'm going to have a great life with or without you. It is so empowering. It is so calming. And it's
very much saying I'm stable. I'm standing firm here on this path to a positive life.
