Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to IHIP News. Today I would like to discuss a lot of people that we know personally, and I'm when they go to vote, they vote against the LGBTQIA community's rights. And they say, well, Donald Trump has never really been, you know, hard on gays, or I've never heard him speak out against gay people. And I just think it's important that we look at all of the people that surround Trump every day and their record, their public record about homosexuality. We're going to start first with Moses Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House. Kylie, play the clip. Cape File has uncovered details about Johnson's history with a group that promoted gay conversion therapy. Here's some of what he said in the past. It's time for an honest conversation about homosexuality.
Starting point is 00:01:05 There's freedom to change if you want to. Our race, the size of our feet, the color of our eyes, these are things we're born with and we cannot change. But what these adult advocacy groups like the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network are promoting is a type of behavior. Homosexual behavior is something you do. It's not something that you are. Many historians, those who are objective, would look back and recognize and give some credit to the fall of Rome to not only the
Starting point is 00:01:32 deprivation of the society and the loss of morals, but also to the rampant, you know, homosexual behavior that was condoned by the society. Rampant homosexual behavior. I mean, this is 2024. And that is the Speaker of the House that says such crazy, crazy shit. And he and his wife have invested lots of money in these pray-the-gay-away places. And it just, to me, sounded like he was trying to convince himself homosexuality is something you do, not something you choose, I believe was the quote. What's your take on that? I think that number one, we have all the evidence we need that Mike Johnson is the biggest
Starting point is 00:02:17 dick on the planet. But for him to say it's something you choose, not who you are, it shows that he does not believe in science or facts or expertise, which we know. And I'm with you. If you are this mad about gay people, what are you hiding? Why is your son monitoring your gay porn use? Why is your wife, isn't she in charge of like a gay conversion camp? And then he says something like, well, you can't choose your eye color. You know, you can choose to be gay. This is a man that does covenant marriages. So he wants
Starting point is 00:02:50 you to get married and never be able to get out. So he's not for freedom of choice for everyone. He's for, I want you to do what I morally think you should do. And if that means you can't get a divorce, that means you can't get a divorce. That means you can't be gay. That means you can't get a divorce, that means you can't get a divorce. That means you can't be gay, that means you can't be gay. He is the absolute biggest nut I have ever seen in my life. And I do find it suspect how much he talks about gay people. I think that's the thing. We have Moses Mike Johnson talks about gay people all the time. Another person that talks about gay people all the time is superintendent of schools in our state of Oklahoma, Ryan Walters. Bizarrely, he sits in his car all the time and takes, you know, selfie videos where he talks about porn and homosexuality ad nauseum. He talks about drag
Starting point is 00:03:37 queens ad nauseum. It is so bizarre to me, the obsession. I don't hear gay people talk about being gay as much as I do the Republican MAGA party talk about people being gay. All right. Next up, we have Trump's appointment of Attorney General Pam Bondi. And she says affirming same-sex marriage rights would impose serious public harm. She's on the record for saying that. This is what I do not understand with all of these people that are against gay marriage or against gay people.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Number one, how does it affect you? Your marriage is nothing more, nothing less if a gay couple gets married. Who you're having sex with and what you're doing in your bedroom, nothing changes because Joe wants to have sex with Joe instead of Jane. These people and their moral hypocrisy and their just unethical behavior and the fact that they do not care enough about who someone loves and that they want to be happy. These people don't want more. They just want equal. And they don't want to give it to them because it makes them feel better about them.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I think it's gross. So I think at the root of all of this is far right Christianity. A hundred percent. And kids are indoctrinated at a very young age into this marriage is between a man and a woman. And they are told over and over and over through a lot of these private Christian schools, which I refer to as hate academies. And in Oklahoma, they are abundant. And the parents have to sign these anti-gay marriage things.
Starting point is 00:05:17 So it is literally institutionalized bigotry on the backs of kids. And they are told over and over and over from a very young age that same-sex marriage is a sin. It's the devil. It's these demons. Yak, yak, blah, blah. And then you have people that are born out of this. Mike Johnson, Pam Bondi. Here's another one here. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins says, I am disappointed
Starting point is 00:05:45 that the court has overstepped its boundaries once again. Many states have already voted to keep the definition of marriage to one man and one woman. And the court's decision is a gross infringement on American democracy. I strongly support a constitutional amendment defining marriage between one man and one woman. And I guarantee you every single one of these people has this either far right Catholic or extreme evangelical Christianity. And even some of these mega churches that act like they're cool where their pastor wears jeans and designer tennis shoes and they have a cool rock band.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Do not kid yourself, guys. We live in the buckle of the Bible belt. This one man, one woman marriage thing is deeply embedded and deeply indoctrinated into the culture of suburban America. Twice in the last calendar year, they've attempted to, the Democrats have made legislation to codify as a right IVF, but Republicans always vote no. I mean, unanimously, they vote no. They do not want to make IVF a law. Why is that? I thought, why wouldn't they want that?
Starting point is 00:07:04 You know, Republicans have infertility issues either. Well, I read an article that that is because IVF is the primary source of how homosexual couples have children. They get a surrogate, they have, you know, a sperm donor, and they don't like it. And that to to me, is the meanest and cruelest. I mean, all the shit they do is mean and cruel. But they are, the Republicans and the far-right Christians, they play the long game. They play the long game. They have been, you know, scullering around the abortion issue for years.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Now Trump's taken it and it's back to the states. Now they've said, oh, well, you know, it's a states rights issue. These same states that have said marriages between a man and woman also say you can get married at 12. They also say 10 commandments should be in classroom. And these are not serious politicians doing good for the American people. They're right wing nut job Christian hypocrites. I can't stand it. Okay. And then another one of Trump's appointees, U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, he said he opposes the repeal of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy and supported a constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex marriage. He says, I don't want to see our military treated as a petri dish.
Starting point is 00:08:24 And then the nominee for the Secretary of State, little Marco Rubio says, I don't want to see our military treated as a Petri dish. And then the nominee for the secretary of state, little Marco Rubio, says, I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. I think that's what the law should be. I think you should have the law changed by legislature. And then, of course, we have Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio on same sex marriage. Kylie, play the clip. In Obergefell, the court said, no, we know better than you guys do. And now every state must sanction and permit gay marriage. I think that decision was clearly wrong when it was decided. That court decision, Obergefell, should be overturned on the basis of the Constitution.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I believe it should be between one man and one woman, and that decision should be overturned. So here you have everybody in Trump's orbit, and Trump doesn't care enough about anything. And so if the people surrounding him say, hey, we supported you all this time. We want you to overturn gay marriage. He doesn't. He's so spineless, Trump Trump that he would do it. And this is where you have all of these crazy men, mostly, and then they're internalized misogyny. You have a couple of female senators like that one with the crazy hair, Blackburn or whatever her name, Marsha, Marsha Blackburn. But these people are full blown Christian national Christian nationalists. They know that the bulk of their constituency goes to these megachurches, sends their kids
Starting point is 00:09:51 to hate academies. These people have a very black and white worldview. And if you've ever met any of them, nice on the surface, right below it, evil to the epicenter of their core. I have never, ever met an evangelical Christian that is truly, truly good, that truly champions for the downtrodden, that says, it's not my place to judge homosexuality. At the end of the day, the majority of these people, and we know this listener because we live in the buckle of the Bible belt. They use the N word in white circles. They demean people
Starting point is 00:10:33 that are on food stamps. They demean people that are immigrants that are working hard, but are so happy to go exploit their lower wages in labor. This is the most hypocritical cancer in the American public right now, is the mobilized right-wing religious lunacy. And we are Gen Xers. I grew up around these people. And it is just such a stain on the American public that they have mainlined and mainstreamed hate. They want to put it into law and that they feel that they are above any form of criticism. And when you have a religious group that thinks that they can't be criticized, that
Starting point is 00:11:17 you can't apply critical thinking to them, that's not a religious group. It's a cult. And here's the deal. They are infiltrated politics on every level. These megachurchers, the pastors, they're praying, doing tongues and all that. And it's just all they've thrown out the cancel culture issues of drag queens and gay people. They're not doing business for the American people. Why aren't they talking about wages?
Starting point is 00:11:44 Why are they so consumed with what people do in their bedrooms, what people watch on their TV, what books they read? Because they want to control them. And as Donald Trump always says, he does great with the uneducated. But it's a little deeper than that. Think about the obsession Christianity has with sex. Yes. Mary had to be a virgin in order to give birth to the Savior.
Starting point is 00:12:07 You cannot have sex before you get married. And then you have men that, you know, if they victim blame that, oh, it's the girl's fault that you aroused me. And so then I think there's this internalized jealousy that a lot of Christian men have that gay men can just go, you know, screw with reckless abandon, or a lot of these men are gay themselves, or a lot of them are somewhat bisexual when they watch porn. And so, but the emphasis that evangelical Christianity puts on sex is so bizarre because
Starting point is 00:12:41 from an evolutionary standpoint, we are hardwired to reproduce, to perpetuate the species, survival of the fittest. It's the one thing that that religion has failed miserably to try to control is something it'd be like trying to control breathing. You can't. And so it's just such a failed, archaic, old, crazy thought process. And I think the people on the front lines of this, if there are reasonable people of faith that take the Bible as metaphors and not literal, you are the ones, you don't have
Starting point is 00:13:21 to get in our comment section and say, not all Christians are like this. Well, there's enough of them that it's a problem. And this is a Christian problem. And the sane social justice Christians need to expose these hypocritical, hateful Christians like Mike Johnson, Ted Cruz, and then all of these mega church pastors all over the United States of America. That is a total multi-level marketing pyramid scheme grift. They grift the public with impunity. And it disgusts me because I see it. I see these mega churches pop up all over the place. And it's just like the other day, I was at one of my son's basketball games and there
Starting point is 00:14:07 was a guy who had a shirt on that said, Jesus strong, Trump tough. And I'm just like, this is the dumb shit. This is the dumb shit that this mega church culture breeds, whether it's in rural America or in the cities or in the suburbs. The core of a lot of this is this fucked up Christian nationalist evangelical stuff. And you can look no further to all of the red states that have these policies. They are the bottom states in the country. It fails the masses. It fails the public. They do not care about accountability. They do not care about public health, public safety. It is all about profit, profit, profit,
Starting point is 00:14:52 control, control, control. Yeah. And I think one of the, in reading Freud, one of the number one things religion was designed to do is control people, to keep them subservient. And that goes back to sex, goes back to women. Yeah. I mean, it just it's all right there. It is meant to control and who controls the patriarchy. That's right. All right. We'll see you guys tomorrow.
