Welcome, welcome to IHIP News, where we share our opinion about the news that is important
to us.
And I don't think there's an issue that is more important to me, this election, than
the gaslighting and abuse that Donald Trump is projecting onto women. The minimization, the lies, the flip-flopping on policy drives me insane.
I find it abusive.
I find it demeaning to my intelligence.
I find it demeaning to my individuality, to my self-liberty, to a sense of autonomy.
It is so dangerous and such a step backwards.
I'm so grateful that we have on the top of the ticket on the left, a candidate named
Kamala Harris.
She sat down with Stephanie Ruhle yesterday, and here's what she has to say about a woman's
right to choose and Donald Trump's ever-shifting
position on it.
Let's play the clip.
And people don't think often about reproductive rights being an economic issue, but it is.
A woman's ability to plan her future, her education, her life.
Today, and in the last few days, Donald Trump keeps talking about it and how in overturning
Roe v. Wade, he helped women.
He protected women.
He says they're miserable today.
They're poorer today.
They're more vulnerable today.
He said he will be the protector of women if elected.
Can you respond to that? So Donald Trump is also the person who said women should be punished for exercising a decision that they rightly should be able to make
about their own body and their future.
So I think we would all agree that as a result of that perspective
that he has about women, he also then chose three members
of the United States Supreme Court who did as he intended, undid the protections of Roe
v. Wade, and now in state after state you see laws being passed that do punish women.
Laws that, I mean most recently a heartbreaking story resulted in a young woman dying, a mother of a six-year-old.
Heart-wrenching stories. And that's for the listener, much less their family.
You know, it's important that we are reminded of the recreational cruelty that MAGA, the top of
their ticket, Donald Trump, and the men and women that support him,
there is a recreational cruelty about these abortion bans and these restrictions on abortion
laws. I saw on Twitter yesterday that our nut job governor, a guy by the name of Kevin Stitt,
he had a clogged artery. And so he had to go to the hospital and get a stent put in.
And he says on Twitter, I was able to get a stent. This is a happy reminder to everybody to
be conscious of your heart health. And I thought, oh, how nice of Governor Stitt to be able to go
to the doctor and not have any restrictions or any laws
preventing him from getting life-saving care.
Meanwhile, there are women in his state that have ectopic pregnancies, that have been raped,
that are victims of incest, that have complications with pregnancies.
And he thinks it's his business.
And he's never been to medical school.
He doesn't even believe in science.
I think this is a guy who believes the earth is around five to six thousand years old.
And he thinks he knows better.
And it's important that we remember that this is cruel.
And let's just listen to the clip that Kamala reminded us of that the Republicans for
the third time in a row have put this sick, twisted, demented person that traffics in
cruelty towards women at the top of their ticket. Play the next clip.
Do you believe in punishment for abortion? Yes or no? As a principle?
The answer is that there has to be some form of punishment.
For the woman?
Yeah, there has to be some form.
Ten years?
I don't know.
That I don't know.
Why not?
How sick is that?
A woman has—let's say she's raped, and then she goes to get an abortion.
Then they want to charge her with a crime. These people are sick.
Weird doesn't even begin to cover it. This is sick. This is a total sickness. And to the women
and men of America that support this, I'm going to quote Governor Walz, mind your own business.
This is Taliban shit. It's frightening. What bothers me the most about the Republicans and their stance on abortion and Donald Trump saying he is a protector of women, he takes agency from women.
He implies that women are not capable of making decisions regarding their family and their health care.
And my response to that is, everyone on the Republican right lives on the moral high ground.
This could never happen to them.
Their families are perfect. And my response to that is, it is not just drunk college kids not practicing safe sex. Women with children and families and husbands and
wanted pregnancies want to expand their families and cannot because of medical complications
that are easily treated, avoided, and prevented. But we are in a situation now where doctors do not want to treat women that have complications
with pregnancies.
They do not want to perform a life-saving abortion until there is a fine line between
life and death because they could be criminally prosecuted.
No place on earth is it appropriate for someone without a medical degree, with no medical training,
that has never met someone to make decisions about their personal health? And asking women
who have been raped and victims of incest to go and prove the fact that a crime was committed before they can receive health care is unethical and immoral.
So I am tired of these politicians acting like women do not have agency over their own
bodies.
They have plenty of agency over their own bodies.
And what I really liked about what Stephanie Ruhle said in questioning Kamala Harris about
this issue is abortion is an economic issue. If women
cannot afford to have children, it becomes a problem for the community as a whole. If women
do not have paid leave, child care help, these become issues for the greater population.
And so I find it disgusting. I find it revolting that Donald Trump, who is a convicted fraudster, who has been found liable in federal court for sexually assaulting a woman and then defaming her because he doesn't want to have to pay her.
I find it grotesque that anybody on planet Earth would put him in charge of anything
having to do with the woman. Very well said, but I do want to push back on one thing,
and I think this is a very dangerous narrative for anybody to engage in. Whether it's a college
kid that's drunk, a rape victim, a victim of incest, or a medical problem. Whatever the reason is,
all of that privacy should be protected. And we cannot set up laws where a woman who is seeking
abortion care has to go in front of some abortion panel and present the case. The government can't
intervene in it at all. And one of the biggest myths that the right perpetrates, aside from the fact that Donald
Trump repeats the obvious lie over and over that babies are executed by American physicians
and nurses across hospitals in the United States, which we all know is patently false.
But the other one that they repeat is that they're all of these late term abortions.
And the facts are this, 1% of abortions
happen in the third trimester, and they are pregnancies that have gone awry. These are
critical health positions, health situations where the medical providers and the patient
have to take life-saving measures. But I'm going to say this, and I will die on this hill.
From the high school child whose parents were hardcore Bible thumpers and she didn't get an education other than abstinence only, to the college student, to the rape victim, to the incest victim, to the person who has complications, all of that should be protected.
All of it was protected by Roe v. Wade.
And Donald Trump and his sick, twisted, anti-science, anti-woman sycophants traffic in recreational
cruelty and try to grade what is appropriate when it's appropriate.
I am.
It's all none of your
business. And if you want it to be your business, then let's talk about at what age you can start
taking Viagra. Has it come to your attention, the comments made by Representative to Congress
from the state of Louisiana, Clay Higgins.
I saw a little blurb, enlighten me.
He made a comment and posted on social media regarding what I might remind everyone about
the Haitians in Springfield, which is a lie, which the governor of Ohio has said is a lie.
The mayor of Springfield, Ohio has said is a lie.
And they are not illegal. So this man posted this on social media. LOL, these Haitians are wild, eating pets, voodoo, nastiest
country in the Western hemisphere. Cults, slapstick gangsters. But damned if they don't feel all
sophisticated now filing charges against our
president and vice president.
All these thugs better get their mind right and their ass out of our country before January
20th.
Okay, wait, hold up.
This guy's a what?
He is a representative from the state of Louisiana to the United States Congress.
Yes.
Are you serious?
I am. Are you serious? That is so racist.
And it's such a lie.
And furthermore, did he just refer to Donald Trump and J.D. Vance as the president and
the vice president?
He sure did.
So he's not even tethered to reality.
It's so incredibly racist.
And I would bet that this guy, if you were to look at his website, I bet he says he's
a family values Christian.
Does he not?
Oh, I'm sure he does.
He also is an election denier, conspiracy theorist.
This guy does not live in reality.
He has no idea how to be a leader.
But you know what?
This is MAGA.
This is the Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Laura Loomer, the Donald Trump, the J.D.
Vance, the Josh Hawley, the Ted Cruz, childless cat lady Lindsey Graham.
These are their people.
This is the hate that they traffic in.
Are they going to do anything about it?
Well, the they have brought him up on a motion to censure before the House.
But I'd like to play now what Mike Johnson, Moses Mike Johnson's response to this was.
Any comment on the tweet that Clay Higgins put out today about hate feeling?
I heard about that on the floor just now as well.
Clay Higgins is a dear friend of mine and a colleague from Louisiana and a very frank and outspoken person.
He's also a very principled man. And I think he tweeted, I didn't even see it, but he tweeted something
today about Haitians and he was approached. Well, look, he was approached on the floor by
colleagues who said that was offensive. He went to the back. I just talked to him about it. He
said he went to the back and he prayed about it and he regretted it and he pulled the post down.
That's what you want a gentleman to do. I'm sure he probably regrets some of the language he used.
But, you know, we move forward. We believe in redemption around here.
The standard is you can be the biggest piece of shit on the planet.
You can be racist. You can traffic in cruelty. You can just lack impulse control.
And then you go to Moses Mike Johnson, who is a nut.
That guy, the Speaker of the House, thinks that dinosaurs and man lived on the planet
at the same time.
And he is in line, second in line to be the President of the United States.
That's who they pick.
They pick Donald Trump three times in a row. They pick this nut. And instead of standing up and having a backbone,
instead of I'm not a religious person, but I understand these WWJD, what would Jesus do
bracelets, instead of maybe having that on and saying that language is unacceptable. I am going
to have a committee meeting. We cannot have this.
I'm not going to tolerate lies, racism, incendiary rhetoric towards legal immigrants in this
country.
And I mean, how horrible, how horrible, because you have this group of craven, depraved MAGA
people, and all they want is red meat to chew on so that they can hate people that
have brown skin. They think that they are so morally superior because just like Moses Mike
Johnson said, they're going to pray about it. Right. Fuck off. Dig deep into your soul and
figure out what the fuck is wrong with you, because that is not okay. He just literally
okayed all that racist shit from the United States Capitol. And it is abhorrent and it is
disgusting. And I'm so sick of these fucking people representing the United States of America.
It's awful. I've had it. I totally agree. And I think the theme today, you look at it,
they're trying to marginalize. They're attacking women, marginalizing them,
making them less than human. Same thing with black and brown people. Legal immigrants that
were recruited for workforce, they are making them marginalized and dehumanizing them. The Republican Party
dehumanizes people that are not them. And it is dangerous. We've seen, history has seen what
happens when you dehumanize people. And it disgusts me. I am disgusted by this whole thing.
It's disgusting. And you have Trump and you have all the MAGA sycophants in Congress that support him.
And I think there needs to be a reckoning with the American public, starting with these
hateful megachurch preachers that put all of these lies into these Americans' heads
that abortion is murder.
They have no, absolutely zero scientific evidence that that is true.
And actually it is false.
And then they start allowing space in the communities that people that come here from
other countries are somehow less than human.
It's gross.
It's sickening. You have damaged people,
really, really damaged people, psychologically damaged and indoctrinated people that support
Donald Trump. And then all the people that endorse him, these are broken. These are not
our best people. These are people that need intensive, intensive deprogramming
and psychotherapy. Genuinely. Yeah. I mean, Mike Johnson needs to be completely deprogrammed.
He's delusional. He's completely divorced from fact and reality. The fact that he sits there
and talks about his faith and praying. And then he endorses Donald Trump
and he doesn't see the breathtaking hypocrisy in that.
It's not something that happens with Mike Johnson
and Donald Trump in a vacuum.
That trickles all the way down to Joe Q voter
in rural America that goes to church
every Wednesday and every Sunday,
but somehow hates, hates so many people and thinks what happens with
a woman and her doctor is his business.
And I mean, I've just, I've had it.
All right, guys, stick with us for more hot takes.
