Starting point is 00:00:04 All right, the Supreme Court has been on an absolute tear. They are dismantling the rule of law. They are upholding, surprisingly, birthright citizenship. And I'm really, really shocked about that. But I'll tell you who is mad about it is, of course, Alexis Wilkins. And if you don't remember who she is, she is a country music sensation and a great patriot who dates Cash Patel, the incompetent dipshit that runs the FBI, who himself is a birthright citizen along with.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Lil Marco, pop up the headline. The jet-setting girlfriend of the FBI director attacked the Supreme Court's birthright citizenship ruling, even though her boyfriend is himself a birthright citizen. Is this a cry for help from Alexis? These people have no shame. I mean, can this woman seriously make any kind of commentary about this based on who she's seen and the relationship she's in? No shame, period.
Starting point is 00:01:02 And the Supreme Court is really dismantling the rule of law. We follow a lot of this salacious stuff, Trump and the algae pond and all of this really worthless, meaningless stuff that ends up being at the top of the news cycle. And I think a lot of that is by design. I think that they promote a lot of propaganda, both good for the admin and bad for the admin, so that the stuff that they're tearing apart, the foundations of the rule of law at the Supreme Court are buried down in the news cycle. And ProPublica has done some incredible reporting on SCOTUS's shadow docket. Pop this up. Our new analysis found that the Supreme Court is deciding
Starting point is 00:01:45 more cases through largely unsigned orders than through its standard procedure. Many have allowed the Trump administration to enact some of its most controversial policies. Josh, tell the listener and viewer about what the Supreme Court is doing and how they are undermining, even conservative, appointed federal judges that are upholding the rule of law. This is an interesting piece by ProPublican, and it shows that for the first time in the history of the court, that the Supreme Court has issued more opinions, 63, on the shadow docket versus merit opinions, which is where the court's fully briefed and hears and receives oral argument by attorneys. That's jaw dropping because the shadow docket, as we know it, is basically the court
Starting point is 00:02:34 issuing an order unsigned by any justice without any legal precedent to support, whereby it oftentimes overturns lower courts in favor of President Trump. And hang on one quick question. Do these rulings on the shadow docket, are they so outrageous because they are overturning precedent without explanation? They're overturning. a previous court's examination of a case and the lower court, the appellate court, oftentimes has received multitude of briefing and legal issues presented and oral argument and the attorneys appear in person. And so they have a wealth of knowledge and information about the case.
Starting point is 00:03:16 And then it goes to by application to the Supreme Court. And then the Supreme Court oftentimes you'll see in less than one paragraph without citing any legal authority will overturn something. And it's not just something of little significance. It's something of great magnitude. You know, for example, one of the black majority districts in Louisiana recently, they basically just take the pen and strike whatever it is they don't like, and it's dangerous.
Starting point is 00:03:44 And for the first time, we've got more opinions on the shadow docket, more law presented by the Supreme Court on the shadow docket, then we do via the normal appellate procedure. And let's try to put it in context. When Bush and Obama were both presidents, I think they applied for applications on the shadow docket a total of eight times over a period of 16 years. Trump alone in 2025 has applied to the shadow docket 32 times. So he uses that, and I think he's trying to do it again, you know, he's got this $5 million judgment against him in a defamation case. Well, he's trying to take that to the Supreme Court.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Anything he can do to get to the Supreme Court so that they can help him out without having to explain why and how they're doing it, he's trying to do. And it's important to note that, like, they have been bending over breaking the rule of law, first and foremost for the corporate class and the oligarchs. Secondly, for Trump, but it's never enough, as you can see with Alexis there, Alexis Wilkins, the country music sensation. She's pissed off about birthright citizenship. I would argue that maybe she wants cash deported so she doesn't have to screw him anymore. But I digress. The Supreme Court is dismantling the Voting Rights Act, which was incredible progress for our country. Incredible, incredible march towards social justice.
Starting point is 00:05:11 And since FDR, they have wanted to dismantle every single thing that that president did, even put term limits on it. and now they have an idiotic president and an asleep at the will Republican Congress. And we literally all three branches of government are all melded together. So the NAACP is taking the Trump administration to court, and they are winning. Pop this up. Today, a federal judge blocked unlawful USPS procedures that would have kept mail-in ballots from reaching voters in AACP alongside public citizens.
Starting point is 00:05:47 citizen and NACP, LDF, Inc. fought back in one. This ruling is a victory for every voter who relies on mail-in voting to make their voice heard, especially black voters, who already faced systemic barriers at the ballot box. Josh. Again, this is a prime example where you see a federal district judge following the rule of law. That case may be appealed to an appellate court. Typically, the appellate courts follow the rule of law. Then they can apply to the Supreme Court shadow docket.
Starting point is 00:06:21 So the federal system in large part is doing its part. Judges are doing their part. They're following the rule of law. It's as these cases make its way up to the shadow docket with the Supreme Court that you see the cracks in the system. You see what's going on. And this is by design. Like our government, we don't want. you to be able to vote. We don't want you to be educated. We also see the dismantling by the Trump
Starting point is 00:06:49 administration of the Department of Education. Like, we don't want people to be smart and have access to voting because that is contrary to their power, their positions of power. They realize that that's a threat to them staying in office. They realize their policies are not popular. And this is something I think is so important for everybody to remember right now as you see progressives winning across the country that are talking about Supreme Court accountability, that are talking about dismantling corruption. If you look to the most left president we've ever had, his name was FDR, Franklin, Delano Roosevelt. He was so popular, he won landslide after landslide after landslide after landslide. The Republicans have been reeling since then and ever they got the amendment to limit presidential
Starting point is 00:07:37 term limits because they never wanted to happen. And why was he so popular? Because government delivered for the people and not corporations. Taxes on rich people were at an all-time high, and it worked, and the people were happy. And if you look at the electoral college maps, when FDR ran, it's all blue. The entire country, maybe one or two states were red. This shit is so popular. So they have to cheat. They have to rig it. And they groomed these Supreme Court justices, the Heritage Foundation, that all were such great Christians, and we want family values. There is nothing family values about grifting off of people that cannot afford child care, that cannot afford health care, that cannot afford like, God, I work till five, who's going to pick up my
Starting point is 00:08:20 kid? And these justices in the Republican Party, the Republican Party and the MAGA movement are an anti-family, pro-petophilia death cult. Every single thing they do leads to making children less safe. They're always sexualizing kids. Trump is just talking about having a threesome with his kids the other day. It's just they do not want us to focus on corruption. So all of this to me, Josh, as a layman and for my viewer, I feel like the shadow docket is cheating. I feel like that's what these people do is cheat because their ideas are so unpopular. Well, and they do cheat. And we have talked about the corruption of the Supreme Court many times on this show, on this program. But, but I take it that this is a broader problem. Like this is Congress, for example, they're a big part
Starting point is 00:09:08 of this too. They could end this all right now. They could end all of it. You've got the Epstein files. You've got the things that they're doing and suppressing is just as bad, not checking President Trump's power and authority on a day-to-day basis. So everybody's in the tank on this. The Supreme Court, Congress, the executive branch, and they're all doing it because they're all getting rich off of it. They're all making money and they're counting on people in the middle of America to be stupid enough to continue to vote them in power because they're effective at using buzzwords on Fox News that make people scared to vote for the Democratic Party. And the Democrats have to get better. They have to get better. And they need to fight these people because their plan is to continue to dismantle and they lie and they propagandize as they do it.
Starting point is 00:10:00 And they are playing a long-term game here. And you can look to red states as to what the future holds. Look at all the Bible Belt states, all bottom 10 states, which is interesting because per MAGA, if you pray, and if you're a church-going person and you have a traditional family, God is going to reign all of these blessings down on you. All of these red states are culture war, hellscapes where people are just plundering, plundering the states. And here's Texas, a red state right here, pop this.
Starting point is 00:10:30 The Texas State Board of Education has voted to make Bible passages required reading in public schools. And this is where this is going to get really interesting. Because these people are banning books, all right? Gay books, queer books, incest books, all this shit, right? Well, in the Bible, there's this story of a guy whose daughter is getting all liquored up and have sex with him. So I wonder, are they going to read that story in Texas? There's a bunch of really crazy shit in the Bible. But this is this virtue signaling.
Starting point is 00:11:03 This is this Christian signaling that they do. While Governor Hot Wheels is plundering and probably going to rig the state of Texas for Donald Trump, these red states are where we're going to be most vulnerable. And that's where we have to have massive, massive turnout. Because this shit, the Bible in schools, this is handmade tale shit. This is what they want. They want to keep you dumb. They want to keep you thinking in black and white thoughts.
Starting point is 00:11:32 And I think the Supreme Court is a few new cycles away from completely dismantling church and state. Let me give you my take on an issue like this. The only reason something like this is coming up in Texas isn't because they really give a shit about reading Bibles in schools. It's an issue that will invoke people's passion to where you'll forget how fucking poor and broken. you are, you'll forget about your current status in the state of the economy, and you'll dial in on this one thing that everybody is so sensitive about, their religion, their God. Or if it's not that, it's a trans athlete. It's something that they invoke. And they do it well at times because it does draw a lot of passion from these people. But at some point, these people in Texas, Oklahoma,
Starting point is 00:12:20 Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas that live in the middle of America a normal day-to-day life, you have to look around and say, my situation is not getting any better. It doesn't matter if there's a Bible in this fucking school or not. My situation is not getting better. That's exactly the right point. And that's a great message for Democrats, Josh, because, okay, put the Bibles in school. Okay, ban trans athletes. Okay, ban gay marriage. Is the government delivering for you? Are your wages higher? Do you have health care? Is somebody testing the water you drink to make sure it doesn't have carcinogens in it? It's all bullshit. Put the Ten Commandments in every fucking room that you want.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Put it on every wall. What does it do? Is that going to increase your pocketbook? Is that going to help you pay rent? Is that going to help you pay for gas or lunches for your kids? I mean, is it really? Because in Oklahoma, if you look around, they've got two super majorities in both houses, the governor, lieutenant governor, the Supreme Court.
Starting point is 00:13:17 They've got it all. It's all red, all Republican. So if you look around and you're dead ass broke, that's a Republican. problem. The Bible in your school is not going to put money in your bank account. It's absurd. Yep. All right. Listen, that's all we have for right now. Josh, thanks for joining us in studio. In New York, he's in town because we are going to spend Fourth of July weekend together. We hope all of you have a wonderful, long weekend. We hope it's long and... Celebrate America.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Celebrate America. Fuck yeah, America. All right. Oh, my God. I haven't been here for a few days. So pre-order my bag. not today fascists, which I would like to dedicate the fascist today to the Supreme Court. Fuck you guys for dismantling our country. All right. We'll be back later with more news.
