The House Oversight Committee is in full meltdown mode because Democrats are asking for decorum and accountability.
Let's hear Nancy May show her ass this morning.
A lady has used a phrase that is considered a slur in the LGBTQ community and the transgender community.
Let me please finish without interruption.
F***ing H***y, I don't really care.
You want penises in women's bathrooms, and I'm not going to have it.
No, thank you.
Let the gentleman state his parliamentary.
Here's the thing.
What he was asking is not to have people slurred,
not to diminish and marginalize people in a government body. And she is so out of her brain, just a net.
She doesn't care.
She does not care.
She doesn't have any feelings, any empathy for anyone other than herself. It's gross.
Well, here's the thing that we have to realize when we're in this echo chamber is that what she says using pronouns, trans people, drag queens and immigrants.
They believe it. And that's what they traffic in the comments section.
So she keeps doing this because in right wing media echo chambers, these communities have been scape scapegoated.
They've scapegoated trans people. They've scapegoated immigrants.
And the real enemy is the billionaire with the United States Treasury checkbook right now.
But it's so much easier for them to pile on the tribalism.
So that's why I think she keeps doing this because it penetrates really well.
And we're just not on that side of the algorithm.
But it's a big, big, hateful cesspool, to say the least.
Well, interesting you bring up the billionaire controlling the Treasury,
because the same oversight committee was having a committee meeting about Doge.
And let me just show you what transpired.
Who is this unelected billionaire that he can attempt to dismantle federal agencies,
fire people, transfer them, offer them early retirement, and have sweeping changes to
agencies without any congressional review, oversight, or concurrence? Therefore, Mr.
Chairman, given his prominence and his importance,
I move that the committee subpoena Elon Musk to come before it as a witness at the earliest
possible moment. House erupts. The Republicans go bananas. They do not want Elon Musk to be
accountable. Further, they have a vote, yay or nay, who wants to bring him
in, who doesn't. Doesn't even have a contest. Of course, the Republicans all vote no. Why don't
they want accountability for this unelected oligarch taking over the U.S. government
Department of Treasury? Well, and then I just get mad watching that because that was the seat, that chair, that AOC ran for.
And you have this guy that I'm sure he's a nice guy.
I'm sure he's been a good congressman.
And that's his delivery on that.
Like, I mean, we literally have Elon Musk robbing the Treasury right now.
He is eliminating all of the United States assets.
And Trump, they're doing all of this with impunity.
The Supreme Court has pretty much greenlit anything they want to do.
And that's the presentation on it.
So it doesn't surprise me that they're all fighting there because it's like a toddler
daycare center.
But I'm just disappointed in the Democratic response to a lot of this, starting with that guy getting that position over AOC.
I completely agree.
OK, so then we have Mike Johnson, who we remember yesterday, just yesterday, Trump says he wants to make Gaza the Mideast Riviera.
And so Mike Johnson was asked about it today. America first policy to send American soldiers into one of the most volatile regions in the world and then suggest that the U.S. take control of a region that it has no claim to.
Look, there will be more details forthcoming on that.
Of course, the initial announcement yesterday, I think, was greeted by surprise by many, but cheered by, I think,
people all around the world. Why? Because that area is so dangerous. And he's taking
bold, decisive action to try to ensure the peace of that region. It's a bold move, certainly,
far bolder than what's been done before. But I think we've got to stand unequivocally,
in an unwavering manner, as the whip said, with Israel, our closest ally and friend in the Middle East.
And I think if we could bring control that situation and bring about a lasting peace there, it would do well for everybody, not just in the region, but around the world.
It's a volatile place. And I think the strong and decisive move is an important step in that regard.
As was noted earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu being the...
Here's the deal. Trump says it, and instead of answering the question, how is putting America
first, going over and invading Gaza and ethnically cleansing that region? Well, yes, it was met with
surprise, but I mean, people were really happy about it. Were they? Was anybody happy about it?
And why can't you stand up for what you have been saying as a member of Congress?
You know, God, morals, because you are a hypocrite.
You want to go in there.
You don't care what Trump does as long as you get to be speaker and you have power.
It is absolutely unbelievable that Moses Mike is just all, he just thinks it's
great. Well, do you remember that commercial when we were growing up in the eighties and it was like
a skillet and they say, this is your brain. And it showed the skillet and then they cracked an egg
and they said, this is your brain on drugs. Yeah. That is what you can, that is not only all of these politicians, but many in the American
public.
That is the perfect metaphor for what happens to the brain on MAGA.
And you see it with the MAGA politicians.
Look at Marco Rubio.
He tweeted something like, make Gaza beautiful again.
And he knows better. And, you know, another, the issue is that the Republicans govern with
these little soundbites to a low information electorate, their base. And so they say these
things like little soundbite things, and they don't understand the nuances of it. Well, the
problems Democrats face is a lot of these things are pretty nuanced and pretty difficult to explain, but because we all live in like ADD
algorithm land, it's difficult to message. And so we're at a perfect opportunity right now
to message very simple things like democracy, oversight, transparency. Like we don't have to even talk about really difficult things
right now. The core principles and the core pillars of what this idea that the United States
of America is supposed to be. Transparency, oversight, democracy. And, you know, of course,
it's the worst idea ever because what he wants to do is build a bunch of trump casinos
in gaza he's created some wealth fund donald trump has and he wants to the government to buy tick tock
he wants the government to build all these uh hotels and resorts in gaza i wonder what if
there's a word that exists in the English language for all of that.
Oh, yeah, I think it's called socialism. communism. Yeah.
Yeah. And here's Mike Johnson on Elon Musk's takeover at Treasury.
On one hand, where we've had for years now, all we want to not have unelected bureaucrats in charge
of things downtown, and yet ceding article one powers to the executive branch
under elon musk is there not an inconsistency about calling for the elimination of the department of
education and yet we've heard from uh some of your colleagues here this morning uh you know we don't
want to you know women uh be playing sports with men and aren't you seeding back that power then as
pertains to education if you eliminate the department of education no look i got to
challenge the premise of the question chad you me. I'm a fierce advocate and defender of
Article 1. I mean, look, we are the legislative branch. There's a reason the Founding Fathers put
the Congress, the legislative branch, as the first article in the Constitution, and we're going to
vigorously defend that. But what's happening right now, I think there's a gross overreaction in the
media to what is happening. The executive branch of government in our system has the right to evaluate how executive branch agencies are operating and to ensure that not
only the intent of Congress in funding mechanisms, but also the stewardship of precious American
taxpayer dollars is being handled well. That's what they're doing by putting a pause on some
of these agencies and by evaluating them, by doing these internal audits. That is a long overdue, much welcome development. That's what
the American people demand and deserve. And that's what's happening. So we don't see this as a threat
to Article 1 at all. We see this as an active, engaged, committed executive branch authority
doing what the executive branch should do. What I see is an unelected billionaire going in and stealing Americans' private information,
having no transparency, no accountability on what he's doing, why he's doing it, who
he's doing it with.
And I know having watched Trump for as long as I have, he could give two shits about what's going on and who's doing it.
He wants a soundbite.
He wants to own the libs.
He wants to be petty.
You know, maybe there's something he can hold over somebody.
That's what he cares about.
He is absolutely positively.
This is not the executive branch taking a look.
This is cold, hard takeover. I think illegal. I don't think there's any
question. There have been reports surfacing that USAID and another agency were investigating
some legality of some of Elon Musk's movements or business dealings, and I'm sure that will
develop more over the next few days. So it's interesting that that's the first thing that he closed down. But what needs to be messaged
here by Democrats is very simple. If you want the government to be more efficient, Elon Musk and
Donald Trump, close the loopholes. Reverse the horrific tax break during Trump's first term that added 25% of the existing national debt.
That's what his concern is, be efficient so we don't have as much debt.
Trump's first term added 25% of the existing national debt for our 250-year history as a country. And he was only, that's only one term,
that's four years. So all of this going after USAID and all of this other stuff, those were all
personal things that Elon Musk is an alleged practicing ketamine snorter and Donald Trump,
who is clearly demented beyond and completely mentally compromised,
they're on this revenge vendetta together. So don't tell us that you care about efficiency
and government spending when you have been the biggest contributors to the national debt.
And let's not forget that Elon Musk has been subsidized to the tune of $15 billion by American department contracts.
And so the lesson here, if we ever get power back, is if the American government is going to
give government contracts to companies, there needs to be a fiduciary over that to see that
these funds are dispersed in a way that is moral and
ethical. Because at the end of the day, and this might be tough for people to hear, but at the end
of the day, we created Elon Musk. Our policies created Elon Musk. We created Donald Trump and
have enabled him all of this way. So, I mean, everything they say is bullshit and it's,
but it goes to back to that right-wing media echo chamber where they've scapegoated and they have
all these people like hyped up on tribalism, scared of, you know, trans people and drag queens
and, you know, drag queen immigrants that are running around doing all of these terrible things.
I mean, the people, the immigrant that I see that is the biggest threat on the planet, well,
there's two of them, Rupert Murdoch and Elon Musk. I mean, that's the way I see it.
I couldn't agree more. Elon Musk is one of the biggest threats that in my lifetime
at 54 years old that I have seen to democracy. So keep coming here for the good news.
