Starting point is 00:00:00 Tragedies have struck all over the world. We have the terror attack in Australia, the shooting at Brown University, the horrific double murder of Rob Reiner and his wife. The president of the United States, of course, is completely out to lunch. Zero empathy, a total psychopath. It is on full display. Even Fox News pumps. I saw some.
Starting point is 00:00:30 critiques from them. But yesterday we did a live and Pumps was opining. What will Moses, Mike, and others say and do? And I have some video of Moses Mike walking through the halls of Congress, press and toe, questioning the born-again Christian man of faith about the president's heartless, cruel, and diabolical statements regarding Rob Reiner. Mr. Speaker, did you see the... Do you condemn Trump's post about a lot?
Starting point is 00:01:01 What are you your thoughts about what President Trump said about Rob Reiner at his press conference today? I don't do ongoing commentary about everything that's said by everybody in government every day. We are trying to bring down health care costs. The American people, they're getting very important votes, very important issues, and that's what we're focusing. I gave commentary this morning and you all heard it. You know what he is? He's a pussy and a coward. He can't even say I disagree nothing
Starting point is 00:01:34 because he has absolutely collapsed morally. I mean, stand on your Bible and tell us your Moses while you cannot condemn those kind of comments while you sit back with your balls in Trump's first desk drawer and do nothing. What a pathetic, pathetic mean. I just think it's fascinating as we move past the Trump regime, which I think it's kind of starting. You see massive fissures all over this administration and the people who have padlocked themselves to this man.
Starting point is 00:02:13 And the minute biology affects this man or he's hospitalized or something happens, blue wave impeachment, all of these subsequent careers are completely over. It's such a short-sighted thing, and it's interesting because the Republicans in general have always played such a long-term game to get power and keep it for generations. And Moses Mike has an opportunity to kind of make his own house like they all do, and he has all of this power, and he refuses, absolutely refuses to use it. But more than anything, the Trump administration is an absolute indictment on white evangelical Christianity. It has exposed the cult and the religious psychosis for exactly what it is. And Trump will always go down as Trump. The people surrounding him, the triple Trumpers, the 80% of white
Starting point is 00:03:08 evangelicals that went and voted for him, that moral collapse is something I'm very interested in. And the fact that this man has exposed how short-sighted and shallow this whole sect, this cultish-like sect of Christianity, has exposed it for what it is, is something that is so telling to me. And I'm wondering if post-Trump, if we start seeing a collapse in megachurch numbers and megachurch growth, because it's been so exposed as a superficial bullshit cult that has no meaning beyond it. I mean, I tell this story a lot, but after having grown up in Oklahoma and seeing the cruelty from all of the churches in Oklahoma, and now I've moved to New York.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And all of the churches here have immigrants and refugees welcome here. And it's something that I needed personally to see because I can beat up on Christians so badly because my exposure to Christianity in Oklahoma has been just like Moses Mike's. It's been this cruel, anti-gay, anti-immigrant, white supremacist, homophobic, uber racist, uber cruel, demonization of the poor. And it was just so off-pitting to me. And when I see these other churches like Episcopalian or these more progressive churches in New York, and I see the compassion just on the outside of the churches, it was something I needed to see to know that some people are a member of this faith, and they actually have a organization of social justice in their heart.
Starting point is 00:04:42 And so when you see Moses, Mike, and here he is, I want to play this for you, here he is, quoting scripture. So he's this religious that he can sit around and quote scripture, but he cannot critique an evil man in Donald Trump. Play the clip. The Rob Bryner tragedy, and I heard the shocking news as many did this morning. I was in meetings of fundraising meetings this morning, walked out and heard that. The shocking news that apparently their son committed the murders is not only an unspeakable family tragedy. It's another reminder of just the senseless violence.
Starting point is 00:05:19 and evil that is so rampant in our society. So our prayers go out to the Reiner family, the survivors, and everybody who's affected by this. At times like this, my thoughts go to Scripture. Psalm 34 is a good one. It says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and he saves those who are crushed in spirit. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:38 All right. Here's where I just want to say that we have a person who's suffering from religious psychosis. This man claims that God talks to him, wakes him up in the middle of night, tells him he's Moses, And there he just goes into this default tick of quoting scripture. This is religious addiction and religious psychosis that this man is suffering from. And he is right in line for the presidency.
Starting point is 00:06:03 He's second in line right after the vice president. It's him. You know, in talking about after Trump and the collapse of evangelical Christians, my guess, although that's a lovely thought, my guess is, write history, well, the devil overtook him. He fought it for a long time. It was the people around him completely dismissing either their supportive Trump or that it was Satan that finally got to him. I don't see any real change in this because it is indoctrination and it is hard to deconstruct that type of indoctrination, as I know from personal experience. So I don't expect a lot of growth
Starting point is 00:06:46 within the megachurches. I just don't. No, I don't think they'll grow within the church. I'm talking about I don't see them growing in numbers as what I was talking about. Like continuing, like Life Church in Oklahoma City, which is one of the cultiest cult there is. And it has, I think, over 20 plus churches and it continues to keep expanding and expanding and expanding. And when you don't have a message of compassion and you have a message of purity culture, and looking the other way at immigrants and human suffering, I'm wondering if it affects
Starting point is 00:07:21 exactly pumps. I wonder if it affects growth. I'm not talking about emotional growth. I'm talking about numbers and Christianity booming within the church is what I'm wondering if it will impact because it's already on the decline, but this exposure of evangelical Christianity of how hypocritical it is. And the people that aren't used to this kind of hand praising pyrotechnic style church, seeing it like Charlie Kirk's funeral and seeing just how superficial and what bullshit it is, I'm wondering if that recedes the actual quantity of growth is what I was referring to. Yeah. Okay. And then recruiting new members because that's their number one goal is recruiting. So maybe I wasn't clear on that. Maybe it will stunt recruitment. Moving along, here's the Senate
Starting point is 00:08:13 majority leader and here's what he had to say. He says, I don't have much more to say about it other than it's a tragedy and my sympathies and prayers go out to the Reiner family and to their friends. He said when asked if Donald Trump's post was appropriate. So even the Senate majority leader cannot speak out against this. This is such a collapse of the entire Republican party. It's such an exposure of American family values. The Reiner were a family. They were a family that had a child that was suffering from mental problems and addiction. And the most horrific, horrible thing imaginable, they're surviving children to this. The horror that people are going through, the pain that they are in right now. And the
Starting point is 00:09:01 Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader cannot speak with moral clarity that the president went too far, that we need to probably have a mental and psychological check on his well-being because the post was that unhinged, that there's no compassion, there's no empathy anywhere in Republican leadership, anywhere. This is a complete indictment on the whole structure and the whole bullshit that they have been preaching for decades on the moral high ground, that they are the party of moral values. They are the party of family values time and time again. They prove that they are not. They are the party of getting power and oppressing people. And Trump is somebody who's just so morally depraved that his moral depravity is so much more
Starting point is 00:09:49 pronounced. They can kind of hide behind it. But it's our job. Trump is going to be Trump. It's our job to continue to call out the sycophant surrounding him to go along with this. The voters, the triple Trumpers, you had an idea before you went in triple Trump of exactly what this guy was. I was surprised zero when I saw the post that he did yesterday. It did not surprise me in the least, but it was as predictable as this day as long. Rob Reiner, critical of Trump was making documentaries about his involvement with Russia. This type of thing, Trump has always wanted to be accepted by the cool kids. He also has always wanted to be in Hollywood insider. Rob Reiner is, you know, beloved and adored in Hollywood. So it was a foregone conclusion that Trump was going to do this.
Starting point is 00:10:39 What continues to surprise me is that Republican leadership, when Marjorie Taylor Green is outflanking you morally, it tells you just how diabolical and unqualified Senate Majority Leader Thune and Little Moses Mike Grinder Johnson are. Listener from personal experience, I can tell you as you get older, your hair does not grow as much. or as fast and your skin is not what it used to be. Starting point is 00:12:17 Get ready to shine this holiday season. And Pumps, I really want to get your take on this last one. This is Greg Gutfeld talking about it. And you were raised in these evangelical worlds. I want you to interpret what he says. And he's talking about deeds versus words. So play the clip and then Pumps. Tell me if this is reminiscent to, like, pastors preaching in evangelical churches. Play the clip. Yep. So sad. If Joe Biden had said this about anybody, I would have attacked him and said he was completely wrong. I do hope the president comes back and corrects himself.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Well, he was asked to and he didn't. And I think the thing is, you don't have to like the things that he says all the time. It is why in my filter, Trump is always words versus deeds. I don't. don't have to like what he says. In fact, I can hate what he says, but I can also think in his brain, he's going, uh, this guy compared me to Hitler. He put a target on my back. I don't like him. It's like, well, if it were me, I'd go like, but I'm sorry he's dead, but he can't let that go. We don't have to like it. I just look at the deeds, but I get while you're upset. It's wrong. I didn't, I know, you can, I don't disagree with it, but it's wrong. And we should be able to call out right and wrong. We've talked about it on the show this more, that's
Starting point is 00:13:33 wrong what he did. Okay. One more. You know, it's interesting because usually it's done in the context of someone has words that are kind and good-natured. And then their deeds are ugly. In this case, Trump's words and deeds are ugly. So I don't understand how he's making that connection. He's trying to make him an excuse for him because he is such a coward.
Starting point is 00:14:00 He cannot come out and say, we sat on this desk. for, you know, 87 hours after Charlie Kirk was died and blamed the rhetoric on the left when there actually was none. And now we're sitting here and we're going to make excuses for the moral depravity of the president of the United States. And we're going to wrap it up in Christianity because the people that watch our show are unable to critically think because they were brought up in this evangelical, biblical world. So Greg Gutfeld, nice try. That makes no fucking sense. But is it not somewhat Christian signaling using this words versus deeds? I remember my friends growing up, religious friends, using that type of language.
Starting point is 00:14:50 And that's not something that in everyday language, the words versus deeds thing. So when I heard that clip, I was so excited to get your take because it reminds me of something that a pastor would say in justifying something. something or criticizing somebody. And that words versus deeds goes into my hypothesis that the Republican party is Christian signaling. Specifically, Fox News is always Christian signaling to its viewers. They drop these hints that are somewhat familiar with the Bible or something their pastor says. And then it provides this moral cover for a complete psychopath, malignant narcissist that happens to be the president of the United States. Yeah, no. You're exactly right about that. It's the deeds versus the actions. You hear that all the time. It's just never let's let someone words speak for them. It's always allow someone's deeds to speak for him. This is the inverse here because he sucks on both counts. All right. That's all we have for this episode. Please stay safe. Stand up for universal human rights. Don't value one group of people over the other. We are all equal. Subscribe. We hope you all have a happy holiday season.
Starting point is 00:16:04 It's been really heavy news lately, and we'll be back later with more news.
