Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to IHIP News. We want to share some devastating news with our listener and our viewer. And when you have a place of employment where you work every day and you have a podcast like this, all you see is us in front of the camera. But there are people behind the cameras that work for us. And it's a small office and they're your work family. And sadly, somebody that we work with and that we love very much was shot and killed Saturday night in Oklahoma City in a senseless, senseless shooting. And his name is Javier Morales Jr. And we called him Javi. And he's worked for me for seven years since he's happy and he did everything that you asked him to do with a smile on his face, with compassion, with a joy. And he was never late, not one day to work. If you asked him to come in on a Saturday, he'd say, no problem, Jen, I got you.
Starting point is 00:01:26 And his family, his mother, Starlet, and his father, Javier Sr., and his brothers, his three little brothers that he helped take care of, are in agony. And we here at I've Had It podcast and IHIP News are shattered in a million pieces at his loss. And I guess if you live in America long enough, you hear the stories on the news all the time about people getting shot and you think it's awful and you think, why doesn't anybody do anything about guns? and then somebody you love gets shot. And it's important that I tell you that Javi Sr., Javi's dad, works for a company called Live Free OKC. And Live Free OKC is a nonprofit that helps victims of gun violence and helps families so there's not retaliation and helps people deal with the fallout when they lose somebody to gun violence.
Starting point is 00:02:32 And when Javi Jr. was shot, Javi Sr. was dealing with a shootout on the south side of Oklahoma City through his work with Live Free OKC. And all Javi Jr. did was go to a convenience store to get some chips and Velveeta to take to his girlfriend's house so that she could make dinner and they could hang out. And he was the brightest light in this office. And he just, we loved him so much and everything about him was good. It's almost like a Disney character he just never complained about anything and you were better for having him in your life
Starting point is 00:03:30 and we're just shattered in a million pieces over his loss and we all love him so much this family is grieving and it's hard to get up and come to work and be in this building because he was our building manager he took care of every facet of this building he was our production assistant he worked for my interior design firm he went on trips with us He went on our tour with us. He sold merch for our podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:07 And he's the only person I've ever hired in owning businesses for 25 years that never got on my nerves, not one time. That's just impossible. He was truly the best. And he also had a relationship with our kids. He took care of our kids when we were out of town. He was the absolute sweetest, kindest, loving person. And it just, it's so sad. It's so tragic that this is an everyday occurrence in the United States. And I just hope people, when they vote, will think about common-sense gun legislation
Starting point is 00:04:48 and the candidate. Are they for it or are they against it? How many people have to die before somebody gets serious about guns? So we're going to put some photos of Hobby up. And y'all need to know that this kid did everything right. People say just do the next right thing. He lived that.
Starting point is 00:05:14 It wasn't performative. He had grandparents he went and checked on just in our little building complex here, if he saw our neighbor, which is a health spa next door, taking the trash out, Javi would race up from his desk and walk out and say, I got that for you. And he'd take it out to the trash. Our dogs came to work every day. Our dogs preferred to be in his presence than our own. And you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat other people and the things that they do and that they don't want credit for. They do it just for the sake of doing it. And it's impossible to impress upon people how good this kid was and how senseless and insane it is that we live in a place where people and these stories about people getting shot, killed, and you hear it and it's on your phone alert all the time. Nobody does a fucking thing about it.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Election after election. And this is the country. this is the gun country. And I guess if you live here long enough, somebody you love more than anything else on the planet is going to fall prey to this. And this is just a difficult space for us to be in right now, because yesterday we came in and we filmed an episode of IHIP and we didn't feel comfortable speaking about it because I hadn't spoken to Starlet, Javi's mom, and Javi's senior, Javi's father, about sharing his story. And they both told me they wanted me to share what kind of kid he was and how bright he was and his life mattered. And he's not just some statistic.
Starting point is 00:07:13 And so we have to go on with filming. We have to go on with filming. We have to go on with business. Javi would want us to. He would say, he called me J-Dub. He would say, J-Dub, don't be so sad. You got to take care of business. And so we're going to break for our commercial, and then we're going to do what Javi would tell me is, J-Dub, we've got to take care of business, and we'll come back, and we'll do our regularly scheduled news. But I want everyone to know how special Javi is to us. Discover the exciting action of BetMGM Casino. Starting point is 00:08:35 Okay, and in the spirit of our beloved hobby and always doing the next right thing, we're going to get back to the news and we're going to take care of business. And yesterday, Donovan Lecter had a rally and you guys, it's getting so bad how senile he is. So bad. And I want to play this clip and I want to tell you that this is not footage from a nursing home or people with, and I don't want to make fun of people with dementia. It's a horrible, horrible thing for the caretakers to see somebody fade away. But just listen to this exchange between Kristi Noem and Donald Trump at a town hall. Anyway, go ahead, please. Well, sir, do you want to play your song and then greet a few people or do you want to?
Starting point is 00:09:31 Well, you had said you wanted to close with a specific song. Okay, let's do a couple of more fast questions. So, Justin, how about a couple of really beauties and we'll sit down, relax. Let me just give you the bottom line, though. Do you want us to play your songs? She's trying so hard. You said you wanted to play some songs. And so what happens after that is they start playing Italian opera and then they play like six other songs and he stands on the stage for 36 minutes. I don't know if he's having a mini stroke or an, and I don't know that anybody knows
Starting point is 00:10:09 what else to do. And he stands on the stage for half an hour, kind of be bopping around. And it's just, again, this is the guy that millions of Americans think is the solution to their problems. I'm like, what does that mean? But then he's on the stage doing this whole dance to opera, Sinead O'Connor. And it's just like he's soaking in the adulation. Like that's the only thing that he cared about. But it's a town hall hosted by puppy killer, South Dakota governor, Kristi Noem. And he took five questions and then was like, let's play my song. All right.
Starting point is 00:11:04 And then we have another clip here when he was not listening to opera. Here's how he answered questions from the audience at this town hall. My question is, what's your plan to help bring common sense back and help small businesses? So, Greg, the fact is that, you know, they want to get away from gas. And I have friends, they're into the cooking world. I'm not. I just like to eat. But they're into the cooking. And I don't know how you feel. It sounds like you, they feel that you really, gas is much better than the electric for cooking, right? And they have this thing about, you know, they want to put gas out of business, right? No gas. You know the amazing thing?
Starting point is 00:11:45 We don't have electric in this country, but we have all the gas you can use. We have oil and gas. That's what we have. And even the cars, if you look, they want to go with all electric cars. California's having blackouts every week, brownouts, blackouts. And then they come up with rules and regulation to go to all electric, but they can't even supply what they have. It's so nuts. We're going to get, number one, your utility costs. You heard me say it before. Your costs will be down, and we're getting rid of all the electric. If you want electric, great. And if you want gas, great. The only thing you can't have is a hydrogen
Starting point is 00:12:19 car, right? You heard me say that, right? Because you know what happens? They have a new car. They say it's great, but it's got one problem. know what the problem is every once in a while one will blow up and if it does blow up and you happen to be inside of it you're in bad luck because you're not recognizable do you know that it's the new thing hydrogen i said no thank you i don't want it i don't want they call the wife that's not my husband oh yes it is. It's no good. I mean, this is just, he is, again, a crazy person in solitude, being crazy or in their assisted living center. This is televised. Right. I mean, and he knows it. His aides know it. They all know. And the millions of Americans that either they don't see this or they watch this and they think this person should be in charge of a nation's care is just, it's
Starting point is 00:13:15 crazy. But here's what's so disturbing. When he's not stroking out, listening to half an hour of music or giving these rambling flight of ideas, answers. He's going full Nazi. Listen to this. From China. I don't think they liked me, but actually I liked them. And we actually had a very good relationship, President Xi and myself. Somebody said, what kind of a man is he? He's a fierce person. He is. He's a very smart guy. I hate to say brilliant because every time I call him brilliant, the press says he's the president. Well, he is a brilliant guy. Got 1.4 billion people. He rules it with an iron fist.
Starting point is 00:13:50 And the press gets upset when I say he's a smart man. I would think he's a smart man. But actually, he's somebody that we can't, the worst people are the enemies from within. So there he is, the enemies from within. And it's his plan of attacking immigrants. And now he's moved on to attacking people who think differently than he does, which is obviously hundreds of millions of Americans. Followers hear this Hitler-esque style language, this adoration for dictators, anti-democratic, anti-American rhetoric, and they think, yeah, let's go. They like it. They want to be ruled by an authoritarian.
Starting point is 00:14:36 What I think people miss is the reason he admires Xi and he's able to control his people is he does it by fear and intimidation and military on his own country. And Donald Trump said that's what he wants to do. So any questions, listen to what Donald Trump says. All right. I feel better that we take care of business in the spirit of our beloved hobby and bear with us as we grieve an unimaginable loss each day, but we're going to continue to take care of business and come into this building every day and make sure you like and subscribe and we'll see you guys tomorrow.
