Welcome to IHIP News. Josh is still subbing for pumps, who is on a well-deserved vacation.
Today, Josh, I would like to talk about all of the people that voted for Trump earnestly
because they thought he loved America and he would do everything for America and Americans
only. Well, it looks like the New York City firefighter unions,
which supported Donald Trump, just slammed him and Trump's BFF, Elon Musk, for removing
9-11 first responder health care funding from the government funding bill. And Trump has already
forgotten about these people. Let's hear what they have to say. We're calling on the administration that's coming in. We're calling on
the senators and congresspeople that have made their promises to honor the honor,
what everyone has said to never forget. New York City Fire Department unions are calling for the
restoration of funding to the James Zadroga 9-11 Health and Compensation Act after it was left out of Congress's funding on Friday. The act guarantees
medical treatment for first responders, firefighters, and survivors who helped with
their recovery efforts following the World Trade Center attack. It also provides financial
compensation for those who suffered injuries, illnesses, or death as a result. What do you think about that?
Isn't that a surprise that a billionaire from New York City who doesn't relate to nor
care about the working class people would take away something as valuable as healthcare
funding for 9-11 first responders?
Isn't that something?
I don't even know what to say.
And he has never had to worry about health care, Donald Trump, ever.
And this is a country where the phrase medical bankruptcy exists.
But when it comes to 9-11 in particular, you and I are old enough to remember
all of the hashtag never forget. And these responders that went
down there, they breed then all of these toxic things. And we have decades long of symptoms
for these first responders that dug through that rubble after that terror attack. And
a lot of Trump supporters, a lot of these MAGA people say, well, boy, I really like Trump because he loves America.
Yet Trump has shown utter disdain for people that are in the military, people that are first responders.
And I think it's because he cannot relate to it whatsoever.
He has never had to work for anything.
Well, he didn't serve his country.
So and Republicans, they love to when it's convenient for them, they love to wave the flag of first responders.
The military are veterans.
And yet someone like Donald Trump knows nothing about serving in a war, about being patriotic.
Yet this is the same person that has become the champion of religion for the Republicans.
And this man, admittedly, has had sex with multiple hookers, which I'm not trying to say that someone can't repent and become better and so forth.
But to pick someone, I'm not sure
that he's even religious, but all the things that he stands for, all the people that vote for him,
whether it's first responders, whether it's veterans, whether it's religion, they don't
see or understand that he's none of those things. Absolutely the opposite of those things, in fact.
I think that with Trump, you got a lot of working class people who a big part of their identity
is being American and American exceptionalism. And our view of American exceptionalism
has a real capitalistic slant where if you are a billionaire, then you won capitalism.
But the biggest lie about Donald Trump is he inherited $400, $500 million from his dad.
He's bankrupted it seven times.
He has had the easiest go at everything his entire life, and he gets away with everything.
He cannot relate on any terms whatsoever with working class Americans.
I remember some of his early rallies in 2016.
He would mention guns.
Donald Trump no more fires guns and goes to a gun range and does redneck shit ever.
He doesn't even fly commercial. But Trump would say he'd bring up guns and the to a gun range and does redneck shit ever. He doesn't even fly
commercial, but Trump would say he'd bring up guns and the audience would just go bananas.
And he would almost have this out of body experience. And he would say,
boy, you people really do love your guns. Don't you? Kind of like he was shocked at how much they
loved guns. And I think he realized I have these quick sound bites. I can make fun of immigrants.
I can make fun of liberals and I can act like I'm a badass and they'll love me.
And he caught on to that very quickly.
This simple Neanderthal messaging.
I saw, I think what took it to a brand new level for me was I saw that I think that he
was selling some sort of a Trump Bible.
Yeah.
And then I really just had to pause and take a few seconds and think, where the fuck do
I live that people would think to buy a Trump Bible?
How is it that he's convinced people that he's somehow the anointed savior for their cause, for their religion.
How did that happen?
Like, what world did we wake up in where you would think he loves Jesus?
He's a good Christian.
I want his Bible in my house.
Get a load of this.
Who does that?
How does that happen?
Get a load of this. He has such utter contempt and disdain for religion that his upcoming inauguration, he has offered a pray with Trump meeting.
And guess how much it costs for these big Christian megachurch pastors to be able to go pray with Trump?
How much?
$100,000.
And here's something that Americans need to grapple
with. We have big pharma, we have big guns, we have big tech, we have, you know, the military
industrial complex, but we also have big Christianity. And big Christianity is the
most dangerous of all of them because they don't pay taxes. They're not held accountable to
anything. And they start brainwashing and indoctrinating children in states like where
we live at a very young age and it primes them and it sets the psychological soil for them to
believe in magical thinking. And Trump epitomizes dumb shit, magical thinking like no other American
I've ever seen. I agree a hundred percent, but therein lies the difficulty that you would think
a reasonable person would think that the Republican party would have in trying to sell
this absurd proposition. But yet because of the American people and their belief in religion,
they've somehow done it. They've succeeded. They've sold this grift to the American people
that Trump is the Messiah, that he's the next coming. And it's something I try to dummy my
brain down quite a bit. I try to get in the trenches with what a lot of other people are thinking, maybe in rural or red states.
I, for the life of me, don't think I can get that fucking stupid in order to come up with a belief as to why they would think that Trump is a good Christian and that he supports Christianity and that he would be
the right person to represent them. I just can't, I can't get my head around it.
I'll take it further. I think Trump is the perfect mascot for Christianity. And here's why.
These people are terrified at a very young age. I grew up atheist in a red state. So did you.
And from a very young age, the you've got to get saved campaign started with my peers in junior
high and high school. Have you been saved? And I was like, well, saved from what? Well, have you
accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal savior? Well, no. Well, you're going to burn in hell and
these demons are going to torture you, blah, blah, blah. So they are raised scared shitless, this hellfire damnation worldview.
If you listen to a Trump rally, it is full blown hellfire damnation.
They're going to come rape you.
We've got drug dealers after you.
The immigrant caravans are coming after you.
These crazy trans people are going to come and whack wieners off of kids in school. These drag queens are doing all this nefarious stuff. The rainbow
mafia is coming to get you. Meanwhile, he takes everybody's eye off the ball and who's really
coming for everybody are the oligarchs. You've got Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, you've got all of Jeff Bezos has gone out to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring.
You've got Tim Cook with Apple who's gone out to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring.
These people don't give a shit about democracy.
And they've gone to kiss the ring of a man who cannot even blend his makeup.
This is the this is the gender of anti gender affirming party.
And they've elected a man that wears a full face of makeup that doesn't even have the decency to blend it.
I think what you're saying is that every bit of it has become about money.
That's what you're saying. There's no belief. There's no conviction.
Everything is about money. And I assume nothing's changed in our society. It's always been like that to a certain extent, but I try to form some, I try to understand how the other side thinks at times. I try to
have some empathy or level of understanding. And there are certain things I just can't understand
about Donald Trump and about how people give him a pass on supporting veterans,
supporting first responders, being pro-military, being a religious
prophet that's going to save them. But then again, and this is something I say quite frequently,
the Republicans are able to message this,
package it and sell it. And they've done it with him. And it's something that even as absurd as it
is, as much as we want to ignore it, make fun of it as hypocritical as it may be, as illogical
as it may be, it has to be something that we pay attention to and that we try to understand. How do they do this?
How is it that a man can be literally the worst fucking human being in the world, but
yet be a symbol or a savior or a prophet for this country's symbolism of Christianity?
How in the world can that happen?
And it's something I think that we
have to understand a little bit and examine and not be so dismissive, even though I think it's
absurd. How does that happen? And I think part of it is, is that the Republicans for years
have wanted to get the American public to become more and more and more uneducated and they want them to have less
so that when they get something, when they get a sound bite or they get a little bit of something,
they're grateful for it. And they don't understand a lot of this stuff. I remember
years ago I was driving somewhere and I saw a George Bush sticker in a small town in Southeast Oklahoma. And there were
six kids in the backseat, all with no seatbelts. It was about a 1965 beat up car.
Nobody had a pot to piss in, not a dollar to their names. You could just tell they were dirt poor,
but yet they had a George Bush sticker on their car, presumably for the war at the time.
Who knows? So my point is they pick these issues, whether it's religion, whether it's war,
whether it's military, and then they make it all about that issue and they ignore every other
important aspect of their lives, whether it's socioeconomics, whether
it's jobs, whether whatever it is.
But I think here's the thing.
These things are so intertwined.
The religion and Trumpism are the exact same thing.
Christianity, evangelical Christianity is authoritarian.
Trumpism is authoritarian. Trumpism is authoritarian.
In evangelical Christianity, you have an enemy and it is Satan and all of the demons and
the spiritual warfare and all this bullshit.
In Trumpism, you have an enemy and it is immigrants, LGBTQIA plus people.
And so these people are psychologically primed to feel bad when they critically think, because
when they think for a second, now, wait a minute, did Noah, was he really 900 years
old and got this big boat while God, you know, did mass genocide on the planet and he floated
around with all these animals?
Did that really happen?
But you're told as a young Christian, if you believe that, if you question it, that's a
sin.
That's Satan.
You're letting Satan win.
What does Trump say?
You can't let the radical leftists win.
They can't say anything bad about me.
Hell, he won the election and he's still claiming election interference.
And so these people are so primed and they've been primed for a very long time for this moment.
And so the jump over to Trumpism doesn't surprise me.
What surprised me the most is how much more radicalized they've become. Because I think you
have a very, very radicalized MAGA party that basically says a lot of these people, you know
what, maybe we do need a dictator. They say it now. And so that's what's so scary.
But thanks for joining us today, Josh,
and we'll be with you guys all weekend.
All right, thank you.
It's so entertaining to have the Vane.
So good.
