We need to talk about red state culture, and we need to talk about the Democrats' failure in red states because they abandon a 50 state strategy, and they've allowed these horrible politicians with horrible policies to flourish. And one is Chuck Grassley of Iowa. And I know you're thinking, oh, this is going to be a snooze. Do not back out of this video. This is some fascinating tea. Kylie, put this up. Chuck Grassley, who is an evil weirdo. He's 92, third in line to the presidency,

and has spent decades making life worse for the people he represents. Next slide. Did you know that right now, the person who sits third in line to the U.S. presidency is a deeply strange 92-year-old from Iowa. Chuck Grassley is both the president pro temp of the Senate and the chair of its Judiciary Committee, which makes him one of the most powerful

people in Congress. On a regular basis, he puts things on the internet that make Trump look normal by comparison. He has a legislative track record a mile long, and most of it is awful. The fact that someone like Grassley has represented Iowa in the Senate for 45 years is a sign that American democracy is a near terminal state of dysfunction. But what's more? And this is, I want to drive this point home by Alex Scopic. What's more? It's the most damning indictment of the Democratic Party imaginable. If they can't beat this guy, what are they good for? Next slide. Chuck Grassley is the oldest member of Congress. He's been in politics. This is wild pumps. since the Eisenhower administration. When he was born in 1933, Hitler and Stalin were still alive.

And the chocolate chip cookie had not yet been invented. When he was first elected to the Iowa State Legislature in 1958, segregation was still in full effect. Get a load of what I'm about to tell you. When he became a U.S. senator in 1980, Grassley was endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan, who reportedly gave him an 8 out of 10 for his voting record. Now at age 92, he visibly struggles to read statements on the Senate floor, but that hasn't stopped him from filing the paperwork to run for yet another term in 2028 when he would be 95. Next slide. Looking at his record, there's no way anyone could say with a straight face that Chuck Grassley, out of everyone living in Iowa, is the best equipped to represent the state on the national stage. The thought of him trying to deal with a crisis is laughable, and yet he's what liberal, capitalist democracy has spit up.

He's clearly mastered the skills that actually matter, pleasing party by, and wealthy donors, and in the Democratic Party, the same patterns have defined Grassley's opposition to the extent that no matter how bad he gets, they'll always run an unremarkable centrist against him. We've got to burn out all the dead wood. Pumps. You know, something that you have said has really struck me. Look how far MAGA has moved the Republican Party. We as Democrats need to move our leaders left. We need to make them come out and say, we're populists. We protect everybody.

We will not stand for racism. We will not be corporate shills. Like, we need strong, powerful leadership. And if you can't do that, shut the fuck up. And then another thing I'm going to say is, didn't Obama say recently, like, 90% of the problems are old white men hanging onto power? Hello, it's time to fucking go. Andrew Cuomo in New York City. You got, you know, taken out of office as a Democrat, ran as a Democrat for mayor, didn't get it. When is an independent? Give it up.

We need people around these people that say it's time to give it up. Here's the thing. They're not. We had a president of the United States, Joe Biden, who was surrounded with people who told him it was a good idea to run again. And then he walked out on the debate stage. And now we're all fucked. All of us are fucked because of that. We need to change the culture. We need to change the culture that we demand more from our politicians. The Democrats abandoning Iowa, abandoning Oklahoma, incubate this shit, and they incubates a culture that this is just the best you have. And when you go into an Oklahoma and you go into an Iowa and you run a Republican light, that person is going to lose. Furthermore, Pumps, think about the last gubernatorial election in Oklahoma, yet Kevin Stead, nut job, Christian nationalist, good old boy, running against Joy Hoffmeister, former Republican who switched to Democrat, barely any difference

in them except for she was pro-choice and he was pro-life. So the electorate in Oklahoma didn't get to hear anything different than just Republican policies. And so yes, Charlie, Grassley's a nut and you see that Ruth Bader Ginsburg should have retired we can't dictate that but we can as the Democratic Party needs to start sending ideas via new younger candidates to these places because you're running a Republican and then you're running a corporate Democrat there's hardly any difference right it's status quo status quo versus status quo so all the people that have been indoctrinated to vote are are always going to vote our like they did in Oklahoma.

Right. Yes, I am talking about them. The Democratic Party, all of this is an indictment on the Democratic Party. Trump is an indictment on the Democratic Party that we can't beat a guy who tweets about his vacuum cleaner named Beth, who was endorsed by the KKK and got an 8 out of 10 rating

and you can't beat that motherfucker because you trot out. Oh, I know what we have to do in Iowa. We're going to run a centrist. Right. That's what we'll do. That's what the Democrats have been doing in all of these places. And meanwhile, let me tell you what Republican super majorities have done to places like Oklahoma. We had a Democratic governor in 2011, and we were ranked 17th in education.

Since then, we've had a Republican supermajority. Governor, House, Senate, Supreme Court, all state-controlled Republican were 50th in education. The Republican Party has been lying to you. If you live in a red state, your state is more than likely ranked in the bottom 10. And more than likely your state has been controlled by a MAGA and or Republican supermajority. And their policy suck. Trickle-down economics is a lie. and they've been lying to you for years and they've been using your faith, the only thing you have to do in your town against you, while they do the exact opposite in the law that your Lord and personal savior would want the politician to do. And it is a huge problem. We need populist,

progressive Democrats to walk in to the belly of the beast and say, you want to call me woke, you want to call me a progressive, you want to call me a Democrat, that's fine. But I'm going to tell you the truth. Something that Chuck Grassley hasn't told you, something that Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma hasn't told you. They've lied. They've lied to you and they've done it for years

in years and years. And it's time for us to start putting the pressure on the electorate to change because politicians are one thing, consistently disappointing, consistently. So I think some of our work needs to be educating the electorate about just how diabolical and damaging these

red state laws are. No, I completely agree. And a perfect example is, name me one big red city. Can't. You know, I mean, start there and just keep going down. And I will, I think the new thing we need to start asking Democratic politicians that are super pro establishment is, what is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, 2016 Trump,
