Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay. I want to talk, pumps. I think we need to discuss, like, there are components of the opposition that are really good. And then it's like they're not good on every single box. One of these is Gavin Newsom, a plus, plus, plus, plus, to quote, Kanks, and his dissolutioned thoughts about his economy. on fighting Trump. Really, really, really good about fighting Trump. At times, not focused on affordability and getting rid of corporate donations. And recently he just kind of cleaned up some A-PAC stuff, but then he also face planted on taxing billionaires, which I think is like over 80%, like total bipartisan.
Starting point is 00:00:54 It's something like you can get 80% of Americans to agree on something. And he said he was quote, adamantly against it. but he pulls the best right now and listen up listener we have to do everything we can to beat these fascists everything so my i want to show you how good he is at fighting so the white house pumps puts out one of their you know asmr cruel porn hits of what they call cuffing season and it's them cuffing uh immigrants and they you know these people are so sick that they like watching it. So Gavin Newsom, you guys, he's so good at fighting and his team, digital team is so good.
Starting point is 00:01:33 He makes an AI video of what he calls cuffing season and retweets the cruel White House version and puts out this banger. Pop this up. So for those of you that are listening, it shows like Hegg Seth, Miller, and putting boy in handcuffs, crying, everybody's staring at them. I just think that is excellent. I think that is so excellent. And I also think while we're fighting MAGA, we also need to talk to the voter. Like, think Zoran Mom Donnie laser focus on affordability, laser focus on what the majority
Starting point is 00:02:21 of working class Americans need and what both parties have failed to deliver. So I start this because I want all of our candidates to be better and I want them to evolve the way the base is evolved because pumps and I have evolved on these issues and I want the leaders that we have to evolve so that we can have a really rigorous, honest primary. Pumps, what's your take on all of that? First of all, the everybody who is paying a little bit of attention knows that every single one of those people has been. committing crimes on a daily, if not hourly basis. So good for Gavin Newsom. What I would say on the not taxing the rich, I think these politicians are so worried about filling up their financial coffers because I think it took like a billion dollars to run for president in 2024. So it's like they're scared that if they go against billionaires who are just a tiny fraction, now granted they give money, but let's look at Zora Mamdani. Economic.
Starting point is 00:03:26 hub of the United States, New York City. He said, I'm sorry, you're going to have to give a little bit more. And they were threatening to leave and they were doing all this shit. You know what happened, Jennifer? After Zoran 1, fucking nothing. None of these billionaires left. They didn't change their business addresses and all that. So I think it's important that Gavin Newsom look at that model and say, I'm not trying to fuck anybody. What I want is equality for everybody. And if that means a little bit more from the super rich, then that's just how it's going to be. And I don't know if it's personal worry about campaign, if it's just loyalty. I don't know why that hasn't been the case because to me it seems like the biggest layup of all time.
Starting point is 00:04:14 And I just want to add to what you said, what happened after Zoran 1. Now there's been reporting in the days after and weeks after and the month after that he won. luxury real estate sales in the on the island of Manhattan have increased. There's been an increase of sales. I think to answer your question, why doesn't he do this? I think that a lot of stuff just gets cooked in. And right now we have a problem where corporate influence is really cooked in to the Democratic Party. After Citizens United, it was widely accepted.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Well, if they're going to take money, we have to take the same money, too, because we have to fight fire with fire. Fair. I think that part of that broke the Democrats and it broke it to the point to where they were supposed to be the party of working class. And when you're taking money from corporations that are denying people health care, denying people an increase in wage, and you're helping the Walmarts and the Amazon subsidize. the needs that their employees and their workers need by providing them snap, you lose the narrative. And so I'm sure that there is this fear, but back to your point about Zoran, he didn't just not take corporate money. The billionaires banded together and spent tens of millions of dollars against him.
Starting point is 00:05:49 And I just am wondering if, as we head into the midterms, can the strategy not be where we make it so toxic like let's say that Gavin Newsom is fast forward to 2028 it's so toxic that the Republican nominee say it's J.D. Vans it's so toxic that he took so much corporate money that the more they take in that's the more you talk about and that it becomes brand damaging for these corporations to have given to one side only. And so I think it's going to take something really radical from the Democrats, like saying, we're not taking any of it. None. We're taking zero. And you look at and then you say, remember how Trump's most successful campaign ad was that horrible, transphobic ad. Kamala is for they, them. Trump is for you. Can the Democrats not use
Starting point is 00:06:49 a platform kind of like that? J.D. Vance is for all of these billionaires. And Gavin Newsom is for you, zero-pack money. It's really powerful, like, fucking pisses me off. Marjorie Taylor Green, Trump calls her a traitor. Yeah. Right? Trump calls her a trader and she posts on Twitter, I'm not a traitor. I'm America first, zero-A-PAC dollars, and then shows Trump gets like $250 million,
Starting point is 00:07:19 you know, Israel, hardline Israel lobby money. So I don't know, I just think it's something we should talk about, We've developed, we kind of have a larger audience now. We can get some of these guests on. Like, what is this strategy to not just win the midterms, but to build a long-term coalition, a long-term FDR style tenure where we can get back power and really make consequential changes to this country? Now this is a really big tell.
Starting point is 00:07:51 You know how I told you, Pumps that, you know, as he gets older, Canks, Pudding Boy, he's going to start loose lipping, right? So he's already loose lipping and he's already pre-spinning that he's going to lose the midterms. And this gives me a lot of hope because I have to remind myself as much as I think they're going to cheat. Our elections are very localized and they might be able to cheat in a certain like super red county or something. But nationwide, it's going to be very, very, very difficult. And so he knows that too. So play this clip. You know, it's like statistically, it's amazing, when you win the presidency, even if you win by a landslide like we did, and even if you do a good job. And some people say we've done the best opening 10 months in history, you know, in the history of the presidents.
Starting point is 00:08:39 I think we have. Who's done better? We ended eight wars. We have the strongest economy. We have $18 trillion coming in, which is more than any country had times, I think, five or six. 18 trillion is a lot even in your standard, right? Yes, sir. Even for that guy, 18 trillion's big numbers.
Starting point is 00:08:57 But we have 18 trillion dollars coming in. Pretty amazing, right? I think Quilcom would be very impressed if they had even a little piece of that. But so we've done a great job. But for whatever reason, and nobody's been able to give me an answer, when you win the presidency, you seem to lose the midterms.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Even if you win the presidency well a lot and you do a great job as president. You know, some presidents have done good. And they've lost, I think it's like two times. Okay. All right. Enough. It's just ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:09:31 This is getting these pumps because I think they're prepping for the blue tsunami. I mean, this is where like a moment of him, like, oh my God, like they know they can't, the localized nature of the elections, they're not going to be able to rig the midterms. Well, because you know they've been plotting it and thinking about it for at least since 2020, probably before. But I listen to that. And it just kind of goes back to the whole Democratic establishment argument. Like, you should be fucking embarrassed that this is the guy that won. And you need to break everything down to the Stads. But Trump, do you think the people around him are telling him it's not your fault? First of all, he didn't run by a landslide. Nobody says it's
Starting point is 00:10:17 the best economy in the world because he won't even release his own numbers. But here's the thing about it. Is he going to make it to the midterms? He looks horrible. He's kind of slobbery, mouth, slurry, like, I cannot believe we lost to him. I cannot believe it. It's an indictment on the Democrats. It is. An indictment on the Democrats. Joe Biden had one job after you saw an insurrection and nationally televised insurrection when these depraved, mentally unstable people went to the halls of Congress and wanted to hang Mike Pence. They beat up cops. They took a shit in the Capitol. They had Nazi flags, Camp Auschwitz T-shirts, Civil War, you know, fucking flags, complete nightmare shit show, all directed by one person and the wife of a Supreme Court
Starting point is 00:11:16 justice. What did they fucking do about that? Jenny Thomas, her husband, still sits on the Supreme Court. They did fucking nothing about that. Clarence Thomas is allowed to weigh in on these cases where he is clearly, clearly conflicted. They did nothing about this man. Nothing about this man. They could have released the Epstein files. They could have charged him with crimes. They should have moved faster. And it is such a failure. Oh, yeah, we had the chipsack. And oh, yeah, we had the infrastructure track. None of that fucking matters right now. None of it fucking matters because every single aspect of the United States government is for sale. And you know who's profiting from it? Dumb and dumber and tweedle
Starting point is 00:12:03 dip shit at the top pudding boy. Those are the people that are profiting off of all of this innovation. It's unbelievable to me. And it is an absolute indictment on just the horrific leadership in the Democratic Party. They should have done. looking everything they could do to cling on to power and shame on the people surrounding Joe Biden that didn't tell him two years in. Great job. You won. You got to be president. You're too old. We have to put everything we can do to. And Merrick Garland, that appointment was the biggest failure of any president in my lifetime, appointing Merrick Garland because it made you feel good because Mitch McConnell dicted him over.
Starting point is 00:12:52 There's a time for feel good politics right now is a time for fuck you politics. Especially right after January 6th because the longer it went on, the more of a permission structure it gave Fox News and people who were double Trumpers and then turned off by January 6th to then get back on board again because when you see an injustice not rectified, then you start believing that it wasn't that big of a deal. It was a setup. People think the FBI did it and all this crazy as shit. All right, listener, here's the thing. The kitchen is not my room of expertise. Starting point is 00:14:32 they'll ask where you heard about them. Please support our show and tell them that we sent you. Well, when they started coming out saying it was Antifa immediately, it should have been shut down immediately, but they never, the Democrats never shut anything down. They just assume, that nobody is stupid enough to believe Trump. And to be fair, I thought there's nobody that's stupid enough to vote for Trump again. But there is. So I was part of the problem. But the thing is, they should know better.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I'm sitting in Oklahoma City. The people that are running the Democratic Party should have known better. They should have known about. You know what? I'm sorry to cut in. Here's what amazes me is the more and more you and I have gotten into this podcast. And the more and more we've met with people, the more terrified I am, I'm like, oh, they really don't know what to do here. Like they're still playing this old playbook here.
Starting point is 00:15:32 And so, I'm sorry, I cut you off. Finish your thought. No, I was just going to say, we need to, you know, remember when David Hogg was appointed by the Democratic National Committee and they fucking ran him out of town on a stick immediately after? because he was talking about truths that need to be told. And I don't know what it's going to take. I mean, losing the Trump to trump, the grossest, the worst, if it's going to take kids dying because we have somebody that's a conspiracy theorist telling people, oh, you don't need to take vaccines.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Like, what's it going to take for them to get it? And if they haven't gotten it already, I summarily fire people. Let's get all new blood in there. I think anybody that worked on any of these campaigns, you need to, we have some people, I think the people who've worked on Zoran Mamdani's campaign on the Virginia and the New Jersey governor's campaign, these are the people that have proven that they can win, and I don't know if there's some crossover, but the old like Clinton, Obama, Kamala Harris Guard, where it always seems to be a placating to corporations.
Starting point is 00:16:45 and instead of getting your base out and going after some elusive Republican voter that you want to curry favor with. And it's just like they're always going to see you as, you know, in the case of Kamala Harris, as a black woman. They're never going to see you as an accomplished, more qualified person. Trotting around with Liz Cheney or taking money from corporations is not going to unblack or unwelman you in the eyes of these people, sadly. But when it comes to the base, those are the people you can fire up to get out. And so that's my, I started this episode, Pumps, talking about
Starting point is 00:17:27 Gavin Newsom because he polls the best right now. And we haven't had a primary and all of that, but I want to make these candidates better because you have to be somewhat insane to want to run for president. In the case of Gavin Newsom, he's been in politics, all of his adult life. He was the mayor of San Francisco when he first came on my radar because he was very pro-LGBQ plus at a time when the Bush administration was weaponizing gay marriage and really using homophobia and diminishing gay families and gay people. And here was this good looking heterosexual white dude that was with drag queens at the Pride parade. And I remember, you know, just this, you know, broken-hearted Democrat in Oklahoma are surrounded by all these homophobes.
Starting point is 00:18:18 And I remember seeing him on TV and I thought, oh, wow, that's amazing. That's amazing that on the coasts, people like this exist. And I just want to implore Gavin Newsom to get back to that because there are more blue dots and red states than people realize. But you've got to motivate them to get out and vote. You've got to motivate them to believe in you. you and they're never going to believe in you if you say I'm adamantly against taxing taxing billionaires right look even the billionaires have a whole like group where they say
Starting point is 00:18:53 we're giving away 99% of our wealth there's there's a whole thing where they're doing that where even they are saying we have too much money not the one surrounding kanks but like bill gates and what's that guy's name from Nebraska that old Warren Buffett yeah there's a whole group of them where they're like, we have pledged to give away all of our wealth. So when even you have billionaires that don't agree with you, Gavin, evolve on this, evolve. And I think the base, my messaging to the base is we can't be so, what you said this in the past, we've got to, we've got to help build our candidates and help them evolve. And the electorate is evolving. And so our candidates need to evolve as well. That's my thinking on it. What's yours?
Starting point is 00:19:40 times. I agree with that because I think, and we have to have reasonable discussions and discourse. We have to look at everybody's perspective and then build on that. And if you're an old guard Democrat and you've been in the party forever and somebody says, you know, I think your time's up. You have to accept that. We have to accept that things are changing and moving on. So I, and I agree with you. We cannot, as much as I would love to skewer Gavin Newsom on some things. I absolutely want to support the Democratic nominee because I know the Democratic nominee wants to protect people and make people's lives better. And if I have a few desk steps or disagreements, I'm completely fine with that. But we have to allow these politicians to evolve. And we also
Starting point is 00:20:24 have to push them to evolve. I'm just going to say this too. If it comes to the primary, If this stuff is not cleaned up by Gavin Newsom, the ambiguity on LGBTQ plus rights and the oxygen he gave murdered, homophobe, Charlie Kirk in that platform, if that stuff isn't cleaned up and if this affordability stuff and corporate beholdenship isn't cleaned up, most importantly, if he doesn't walk back and say, I need to listen to the people. when we have 80% of the people that think billionaires need to be taxed more, I need to listen to that. I won't vote for him in a primary, period, because that is the formula that keeps Democrats conservative, and that's the formula that keeps Democrats from moving forward. And so I'm looking forward to seeing while I'm scared, terrified of what all the Trump people are doing right now. Right. We have to do two things at one time, cover all the corruption, cover all the fuckery, but also really, really work on our party and our base and building a big tent and cutting
Starting point is 00:21:35 through the crap, just cutting through, cut through the bullshit. Like Gavin, you know you're going to have to tax billionaires more, period. You know that. Quit fucking around. I mean, come on. And we know he was a big advocate for the LGBTIQIA plus community. So it's in there. Advocate.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Advocate. You say that wrong. You guys pumps has this like tick. Where was she wants to say advocate, she says abdicate. Abdicate. I know. Abdigate. Advocate.
Starting point is 00:22:06 I can't identify a line or a tiger. I got it. Losing it. Kylie and I are always like advocate. It's all right. It's all right. It's all right. All right.
Starting point is 00:22:16 By our book, we'll be back later, hopefully, with more depressing news. Thank you.
