Starting point is 00:00:00 People with dementia start telling you the truth from time to time. They wander and wonder and wander, but think about old people that you know on their deathbed. I'll say, well, you know, my oldest child was always my favorite, and the truth trickles out. So I've said the last few months, we need to keep an eye on everything that the leader of the unfree world, which is now Canks. He is not the leader of the free world. He is the leader of the free world. He is the leader of the unfree world as reference to the fascist leaders with whom he wants to collaborate. Well, I've been listening to a lot of the things that he says in his rambling speeches, and this one particularly got my attention.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Play the clip. As an example, I'm doing a magnificent, big, beautiful ballroom that the country has wanted. The White House has wanted for 150 years. It's a massive job, and it's a tiny fraction of that number, and we're under budget and ahead of schedule. Now, it's bigger than I told you. It's, you know, after realizing we're going to do the inauguration in that building, it's got all bulletproof glass. It's got all drone, they call it drone-free roof. Okay, right there.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Why is he talking about the inauguration, bulletproof glass, and a drone-free roof? roof. Why is he talking about that? Whose inauguration is he discussing there? Typically, the incoming president-elect will determine where they want their inauguration. Typically, it's on the mall. And he recently, because he knew that his inauguration in his second term was going to be poorly attended, he moved it inside because of weather, because we know how these maga men that pretend to be alphas or snowflakes because of cold weather, I guess. But he's already talking about the inauguration like it's a foregone conclusion the inauguration is going to be held in there with bulletproof glass and i just thought this was really really a tell it tells me he's not planning
Starting point is 00:02:10 on leaving he thinks he's going to be there forever it's become a bunker because nobody can get him out of it and the thing is like you said he tells everything that he's thinking and all he talks about is this fucking ballroom he doesn't give a shit about anything but the ballroom and i'll tell you what it's terrifying to think that he's not going to leave and nobody's going to be able to get him out of his new bunker the one of the most difficult things and i know that you all experience this too is just the daily abuse of watching these egregious crimes and human rights violations and nobody stopping them nobody nobody is doing anything to really put up a guardrail if you think about Mitch McConnell as a Senate minority leader, how productive he was when he was in the minority.
Starting point is 00:03:00 He had power, he wielded it, he used it unapologetically. So the Republicans, of course, aren't going to do anything. The Supreme Court isn't going to do anything. And the thing that concerns me so much are all of the billionaires that have capitulated to him. And they capitulated to him during the campaign. You have Elon Musk that bought Twitter to game the algorithms, gave Trump $300 million because he himself was trying to prevent criminal charges against must. That's why he got access to Doge, the keys to the federal government, shut down investigations into himself.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Trump himself was able to prevent going to prison. You have Jeff Bezos that spiked the endorsement of the Washington Post. And think about how what a fall that is for the media, for the free press. Jamal Khashoggi, who was a U.S. resident and an employee of the Washington Post was murdered by Saudi Arabia, who the son-in-law of the president of the unfree world got $2 billion from. Jeff Bezos knows all of this. And so it's not that people hate billionaires. It's that the system creates billionaires that are billionaires because they exploit people and they're shitty people. Jeff Bezos is a shitty person.
Starting point is 00:04:25 He fights the unionization of these Amazon employees that work a million times harder than he does. And he demeans them and he, the, the fight of these billionaires to demean hardworking people is getting a lot of traction. And when I first saw this tweet and excerpt that I'm about to put up for Matt Iglesias, I thought it had to be satire, but I'm afraid it's not, put this up. Matt Iglesias tweets, first they came for the billionaires, and he says, it's time to take a bold stand in defense of America's oft-maligned billionaire class. And an excerpt from his substack is, it feels a little absurd to write a pro-billionaire post or do takes like not all billionaires or say that some of the billionaires I've met over the years have been very thoughtful and perceptive people.
Starting point is 00:05:16 I guess I don't really think that anti-billionaire demagoguery is going to get out of hand and lead to blood in the streets and orgies of destruction, but I do see people working themselves up, not about the details of tax policy or the regulation or any particular business, but about billionaires in general. And I think it's emotionally and intellectually unhealthy. This is insane. The propaganda that is starting right now, that these billionaires are aggrieved. These are the people that are, these people are triggered by everything and ashamed of nothing. The fact that these billionaires were able to ascend in the system that was created in this country. We have more billionaires than any country in the world. And at the same time that all of this wealth is accumulating, the working class is stagnant and or decreasing. And you have a decades-long propaganda campaign from the, the Republican Party that if somebody wants to be in a union, the unions are evil. In our state, they say, oh, these teachers unions are so evil. Teachers in Oklahoma make maybe 35 grand a year,
Starting point is 00:06:28 but were ranked 50th in education. The problem isn't the teachers. The problem is the system, the system that wants to allow Prager, you and all of these other people to come in to keep the electorate dumb. So why is this conversation about billionaires linked to what he's talking about with the bulletproof inauguration. It is because they have told us, they want a new world order. Elon Musk has said recently, I don't know if he's on ketamine or not when he says this, but who cares? You won't need to worry about saving money because nobody's going to be poor anymore.
Starting point is 00:07:03 That's an extraordinary claim. And that would require extraordinary evidence. And also is that communism? What the fuck are they talking about? Also, Peter Thiel has said he doesn't believe that democracy is, compatible in the modern world anymore. And these people have found their imperfect vessel. So both the right wing Christians have found this guy as their imperfect vessel to oppress women, to oppress black people, to oppress immigrants, to oppress the LGBTQ plus people. And then you have
Starting point is 00:07:34 the oligarchs and these technocrats are really horrible people. Like the more you get to know about them, the more horrible they are. Like Elon Musk spins the majority. of his time on Twitter, browbeating minorities, LGBTQ plus people, he's wound up about this lesbian that was appointed to FDNY Commissioner, like this is somehow going to be the fall of civilization. And this man is the world's richest man. And I don't see anything in his fingerprints that he's left on this earth where he's making it a better place. All I have seen is destruction and death from this man. And it echoes through that now we have Matt Iglesias getting everybody to feel bad for billionaires. Like if these people were good people that
Starting point is 00:08:27 said, look, we've made too much money. We need to pay more in taxes. Like Mitt Romney now that he's no longer in politics, he's really rich. He's like, we're going to have to tax rich people like me. And I'm like, well, when you ran for president, you were all chips in on this exact same plan that has made all of these people wealthy and abandon the working class. When you look at it and you think the minimum wage in the United States has been the same for decade, for over a decade, $7.25 an hour. And these billionaires have gotten richer than ever and they're bitching about paying taxes and health insurance and they think that social safety nets are bad.
Starting point is 00:09:12 What are we doing? Why is Matt Iglesias not spending his time talking about giving people a livable wage and companies requiring health care? The pro-billionaire thing, do you think it's the intoxication that we have with in America that capitalism is so great? So these people want it capitalism. So they're so great because I look at them and think they're bringing down society. I mean, Peter Thiel with this Antichrist bullshit and, you know, common people aren't smart enough. so now all the rich people need to have all the power like what the fuck is going on it's crazy well let's read some analysis into this here is a tweet from um austin allman in response to matt
Starting point is 00:09:56 iglesias he says the calculation appears to be that with a careful mix of bad faith and helpful bit of algorithmic amplification from musk they can polarize online liberals into hating labor unions and small business owners more than billionaires. And this right here, this has been super effective in red states. So if you look at what they're doing nationally, it started in red states. The demeaning of poor people, the demeaning of labor unions, the demeaning of small businesses started in MAGA supermajorities first. Look at the economies in these states.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Look at the education system. Look at the well-being for its citizens. Look at the safety in these states. They are bottom 10 states. MAGA supermajorities only benefit the elites, but they pitch this propaganda to working class people, to people of faith, weaponize their faith against them, and use aspirational things like, oh, Elon Musk must be so smart because he's so rich. Well, I mean, if you look at the way Elon Musk behaves, he doesn't, I bought into it at first years ago because I hadn't seen him really speak. And this is when he was doing Tesla and all the liberals were buying Tesla. Then when he started supporting Trump and I actually started listening to him speak, I was like, what the fuck is this guy talking about?
Starting point is 00:11:21 Like, he's not even making any sense. And he goes on to Joe Rogan all the time. And Joe Rogan is like the biggest billionaire worshiper. It's like he just allows anybody to come onto his podcast that's wealthy. And he just assumes, this person just must be so rich. And so if you multiply that, Joe Rogan is the largest podcast in the country, a lot of people must, you know, pick up what he's putting. down. And so when you think about the billionaire class right now, it's not so much that I hate billionaires. I hate the system that has bred them. But also these billionaires are not likable
Starting point is 00:11:58 people at all. Like Jeff Bezos and his wedding was so over the top and gross. And then you have like Bernie Sanders, the only person that's consistently fighting for working class Americans. talking about how these Amazon workers are trying to get a union to get health care, like really basic things. And then you have this percentage of people on Elon Musk website that are just going bananas about labor unions in defense of Jeff Bezos. And I'm like, you think he's going to fly your ass over to Venice or to Aspen to go to his wedding? It's never going to happen. You think you're going to go to Mar-a-Lago and hang out with all these fat cats? No, they think and look down upon you. Trump has said about his supporters, I wish they didn't look so trashy.
Starting point is 00:12:47 And so the use of these people, but here's what's interesting about where there's an intersection in the Venn diagram between Republicans and Democrats, there always seems to be this desire to please patriarchal elites, even Democrats. There always seems to be like I always think about when Kamala was trotting around with Liz Cheney. Who was she trying to get? What voter group was she trying to get? She was trying to get white women that are wealthy. Because do people that are out there working a couple jobs, do they know who Liz Cheney is? Right. No. All right, listener, quit getting misinformed and start getting informed. And the best way to do this is to go to ground news and download their app and sign up for the
Starting point is 00:13:41 Vantage plan. It's what Pumps and I use every single day. Here's a prime example. Here's a headline from the left. Trump diverts Congress-approved funds for, quote, warrior dividend. Because of the Ground News Vantage plan, I know that this article has a very high factuality. Same subject, different headline. Trump, over one million military service members to get, quote, warrior dividend. I know that this article has mixed factuality. It's because Ground News is basically the Spotify of News telling you who owns each outlet where it leans politically and whether you're reading original reporting or recycled messaging. Listener, join us by going to groundnews.com forward slash IHIP to get 40% off the Ground News Vantage Plan that pumps and I use every single day. Their subscriber

That's GroundGRO, U&D News.com. forward slash iHIP. Seth has conveniently linked this right below in the show notes. Download it. You will not regret it. Okay, here's some more analysis on this. Here is Gunnels, Warren Gunnels.
Starting point is 00:14:55 So this is in response, these are stats, in response to Matt Iglesias' defense of billionaires. Elon Musk's wealth in 2012, $2 billion. in 2025, $7377 billion. A lot of that subsidized by the working class people that they say shouldn't have health care or be able to join a union. Jeff Bezos, $18 billion in 2012. In 2025, $255, $255 billion, Mark neutered Zuckerberg.
Starting point is 00:15:34 He went on, he went on a podcast and said he felt like he had been neutered. This neutered, here's, and here's the thing. In 2012, when he felt like he wasn't neutered, he was worth $18 billion. Somewhere between 2020 felt 20, I'm doing what you do, Pumps. No, that's why I'm right. Sometime between 2012 and 2025, he's gone from 18 billion to 234 billion. And in between that time, those 13 years, he feels like he got neutered. But the fact of the matter is he gained over $200 billion in wealth, $200 billion of wealth.
Starting point is 00:16:15 And after earning all of that, he gets to a podcast and says he feels like he's been neutered. So are these people ever going to be happy? And then here's the federal tipped minimum wage since 1991, $2.13 since 2025, $2.13. cents well in minimum wage seven 25 but let me just say this if you have that kind of money you know what that used to be called fuck you money fuck you i'm not going to bow down and what we found with this class of billionaires they make up trophies and they go give him to trump they kiss his ass they do all this shit for him so maybe they're not as free because they're not taking their money and saying fuck you we're not going to you know become a slave to you and your authoritarian
Starting point is 00:17:02 ways. They're running around saying, yes, leader, yes, dear leader. And it's just incredible to me because I feel like if I had that kind of money and Trump said, I'm going to do a Trump phone. And I'm fucking the head of Apple. Be like, fucking bring it. Every single thing you have touched, you have destroyed. So fucking bring it. What does Tim Cook do? He runs in with the fake trophy. like these are the most beta men power hungry non fuck you money masculine people i've ever seen in my life well and my thing is like what are these people so mad at it seems like the billionaires are always just so mad and like you've got everything you want you've got the dictator you wanted you've got billions of dollars just from 2012 to uh 2025 their wealth is
Starting point is 00:17:56 It's insane and no other career are you able to game the system like that. And the reason these people are billionaires is because they live in a system that allows them to exploit labor. The most interesting component of that for me was the tipped wage because a lot of these people like Starbucks, for example, we, the consumers of Starbucks have to tip these employees because the owner of Starbucks doesn't allow them to unionize, and we have always allowed in our culture, this tipping culture that we have, to allow the CEOs and the board of directors to make a shit ton of money while working class people are covering the wages. And this goes all the way through from the infrastructure issue that I brought up multiple times with Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk getting all of these subsidies for his cars. While all of this stuff is happening here, while all of this stuff is happening, China is
Starting point is 00:18:59 excelling in everything because Trump is taking us backwards. And these billionaires want to see a permanent structure of this type of government. And that's why I go back to the beginning of this where he's talking about his bulletproof bunker and his bulletproof inauguration, which is like J.D. Vance, being the heir apparent, who these billionaires intentionally put in place. Trump didn't really like J.D. Vance. No. He didn't want J.D. Vance in there. But the billionaire said, we'll fund you. Bezos said, I'll spike the football. And Peter Thiel in particular, and I want to remind all of
Starting point is 00:19:42 the MAGA people, I don't care about this, but you all claim to care about this immensely. Peter Thiel and Elon Musk are immigrants. Yes. They are immigrants. that get taxpayer subsidies. So while you're thinking, oh, my God, what am I going to do about my, you know, health care costs? They don't give a shit about it because your taxpayer money that prevents you from getting good health insurance is going to subsidize these billionaires. I'm going to leave you all with this. Here is a very interesting analysis on Twitter from John Gans on the Matt Iglesias post. And he says, the correct Marxist line on Billion. billionaires, is not that they are too powerful, but that they are impotent.
Starting point is 00:20:28 They represent the waste of hoarding of society's productive powers. The growth of billionaires coincides with stagnation and a decline in economic dynamism. And I thought this was so poignant. And I thought that this part about hoarding of society's productive powers. And we did an episode in the last couple of days where we spoke about these billionaires shitting the bed over a billionaire tax that might happen in California. These people want to hoard. They want to hoard money and they get people like Matt Iglesias to defend them. I could understand possibly if you saw Elon Musk instead of tearing down USAID that was like, I want to add a lot of my wealth to this.
Starting point is 00:21:19 I want to eliminate, you know, childhood hunger. I want to use all of my wealth to help this society. But it's not the people that that Matt Iglesias are defending here are horrible people that are hoarders. They are hoarding money. And at the same time, they're demonizing unions and demonizing working class people and labeling them as parasites. When the parasites are the people that are shitting the bed all over Twitter right now,
Starting point is 00:21:48 because they might have to pay anywhere from one to five percent. That one to five percent in taxes affects their lives zero, zero. It affects the trajectory of the working class of Americans immensely. It affects the trajectory of economic growth and economic stability immensely. But none of these people see long term. They're ready to rape and pillage the planet and just leave it for other generations to deal with. They're short-sighted people and it's me, me, me, me, me. That's the worst thing about American capitalism and American white evangelicalism is this
Starting point is 00:22:30 me, me, me, me, me syndrome. There's no collectivism. There's no long-term, God, you know, I really hate paying taxes. Guess what, billionaires? Nobody likes it. Nobody likes it. But if I'm worth $600 billion and I have to pay one to five percent, what does it matter? Big deal.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Right. I mean, but here's the thing. It just tells you the entitlement that they feel. I'm entitled to have all these things and to get all these subsidies for my yachts. And you are less than me because you're working class or you work for an hourly wage. I am better than you. And so you just see the demeaning of people and the entitlement, these billionaires. at the epicenter. And it's sad that so many Americans buy into it. They allow these billionaires
Starting point is 00:23:19 that have exploited them to define them. Yeah. And that's just so sad. And also I just want to say anybody that's a billionaire or involved in MAGA, why the fuck are you so mad right now? You got everything you want. You got the House. You got the Senate. You got the presidency. You got the Supreme Court. Zuckerberg has hundreds of billions of dollars. And after he ascends to all of this, he gets on a podcast and says, I feel like I've been neutered. Like, is that what being a billionaire gets you madder than a hornet? You want to hoard stuff and you feel like you've been neutered and you have to go make up some trophy and go present it to some man with dementia that's a total piece of shit?
Starting point is 00:23:54 You know, like there's never been an advertisement against billionaires as much as there is this class of just shitty billionaires. Right. They're so unlikable. They're so unlikable. They have no risk. So it surprises me zero that J.D. Vance is their check. chosen one. Yep. All right. That's all we have. Like, subscribe. Hey, make sure you
Starting point is 00:24:14 subscribe and we'll see you all later.
