The United States is literally in shambles right now.
We have the executive branch who is full force sending troops against American cities.
And it cannot be overstated how dangerous this is.
And in this country, we still have intellectuals.
We're supposed to have an opposition party.
And I think I can sit here and report what Trump is doing in Portland and Chicago, but it's just
another week in America. Let's talk about what the opposition party and the people who drive
the opposition are talking about. This is really, really dangerous to me. Ezra Klein, who is typically
a very liberal voice, is teetering out into something as a person who lives in a red state. I know
number one will not work. And number two is holy, holy dangerous. Put up this excerpt, Kylie.
Ezra Klein in the New York Times basically is writing that the Democrats need to run pro-life Democrats.
He says taking political positions that will make it more likely to win Senate seats in Kansas, Ohio, and Missouri.
This is so wildly dangerous and wrong.
And I want to remind you, number one, Kansas has a Democratic governor.
Number two, Kansas took the abortion issue on the ballot to the voters.
And when this happens in red states, the voters always pick the progressive cause.
If you run a MAGA-Lite or Republican-like Democrat against the real Republican, the real Republican is always going to win.
And I can tell you this because I'm inside the Death Star.
Every single time in Oklahoma, they take an issue to the voters.
They legalized weed in Oklahoma, you guys.
These people are collectively in a big sense, Republicans.
But when it goes issue by issue by issue, they support progressive causes.
Ezra Klein is completely, completely off as rocker.
This is why we lost the elections.
He needs to come spend time in red states and talk to the people because people do not like this abortion ban.
It is not popular even among Republicans.
Republicans in red states. Yes, there is the crazy evangelical base. But even within that
movement, if their daughters get knocked up, I'm just going to tell you right now, they will move
heaven and earth to make sure that daughter, even an evangelical one, will lie to the husband
and go to a safe state to get the abortion. Ezra Klein, you may remember, went out right after
the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Asra Klein went out and was basically saying,
Charlie Kirk practiced politics in the right way.
And he just recently had a conversation with Tunisi Coates.
And Tunisi Coates held his ground, a true intellectual that stands up for civil rights.
And I think this is the moment and these are the leaders that we need right now.
Please play the clip.
Don't take any joy in saying this, but we sometimes soothe ourselves by pointing out that
love, acceptance, warmth, that these are powerful forces.
I believe they are.
I also believe hate is a powerful force.
I believe it's a powerful, powerful,
unifying force.
And I think Charlie Kirk was a hate monger.
You know, I really need to say this over and over again.
I have a politic that rejects violence,
that rejects political violence.
I take no joy in the killing of anyone, no matter what they said.
But if you ask me what the truth of his life was,
you know, the truth of his public life,
I would have to tell you it's hate.
I would tell you, I'd had to tell you it is the usage of hate and the harnessing of hate towards political ends.
What a powerful statement because Ezra Klein knows that Charlie Kirk was a hate monger.
He knows he was racist, misogynistic, homophobic.
I don't know where the disconnect came other than the violence.
Nobody condones that kind of violence.
But in terms of him sitting in New York City saying that, you know, pro-life Democrats,
why isn't the platform for the Democrats, they are pro-birth?
They are not pro-life.
And if the Democratic establishment is listening to this type of message, I mean, I just want to throw up my hands
because I don't see it getting any better.
The Democratic establishment is listening to this type of messaging.
and it is in 2016 and in 2024, this type of centrist,
let's placate and add daylight to patriarchal misogynist candidates.
And they lose.
Look at what just recently happened in Oklahoma.
We had that Republican light candidate that ran as a Democrat against Kevin Stitt,
and she lost.
She lost.
The problem with the Democrats doing this, number one, it's inauthentic.
Nobody is buying that.
that this Democrat is truly pro-life.
The whole premise of it is set up on a lie.
So what the voter does is they go with a person who's truly more authentic.
And this type of messaging within the Democratic Party reminds me of when we had Rahm Emanuel
on our podcast, and he immediately picked up the trans community and threw them under the bus.
The message that will resonate with voters in rural America is saying they're roping you into a culture
war and that's not what this is. This is a class war. This is a total class war. You have the rich
accelerating, getting richer and richer, consolidating more wealth. You have Donald Trump consolidating
more and more power, colluding with the rich. This is why you were ranked 50th in school. It has
nothing to do with abortion. It's none of your business. This is such a dangerous, dangerous thing
to be written in the New York Times. It is inherently misogynistic. He has no idea what is happening
to the women in these red states. And these policies are not just an attack on women. They are a direct
attack on poor women because rich women will fly their daughters to a state where they can get
abortion care. Poor women do not have the choice. And then once these babies are born, of course
they are not pro-life.
Of course that.
But I think there's something super important.
So that's terrible messaging from the Democrats.
There's another opportunity that has just completely been squandered here.
And it is the fact that yesterday a MAGA gunman with his MAGA truck, with the big MAGA flags on the back of it, drove into a Mormon church, shot people, and set it on fire.
And immediately, Trump comes out.
as Stephen Miller, this is an attack on Christianity. The messaging that Democrats need to have here
is guns are an attack on children. Guns are an attack on children. Furthermore, this guy was a Marine
and clearly probably has some PTSD or something. In North Carolina over the weekend,
another Marine who is very anti-LGBQ Plus and clearly has mental problems, drove into a restaurant
and shot three people. So here you have a political party that will not define what the problem.
is, which are lonely, untreated men that have mental problems, particularly coming out of the
military. And because, of course, the Republicans never fund any sort of program to help these
people after they have PTSD or psychological issues, unlimited access to guns. And here's a time
that the Democrat, the Democratic leadership yesterday fumbled the back. And then we have
dipshits like Ezra Klein, who is telling the Democrats to run pro-life candidates in states like
ours. And I'm just telling you right now, people in red states would rather vote for the
Republican than for a disingenuous liar. 12 times out of 10, this is a failed, failed exercise.
Kylie, put up the headline about this Maga gunman. Mormon Church gunman was Marine who, quote,
supported Trump. I had to get this from the British press because, of course, the United States
press is all beholden their corporate press and they're beholden to the same donors or are donors
to MAGA. And then here's another thing that happened over the weekend. In toxic Texas,
a man was arrested for planning to shoot participants in a Pride Festival. He posted that LBTQ individuals
should die in the name of Charlie Kirk.
He told a friend to quote,
come on, bro, let's go hunting fairies.
You know, what's,
what just is so upsetting to me about this
is that the problem, if you look at the numbers and the data,
it is white men 75% of the time
that are radicalized online.
But we're not talking about that.
We're not talking about gun violence.
It's the whole ethos around all these shootings is the left, Antifa.
And it's like, okay, you're talking about 4% or less than 4% somewhere around there.
But I have no confidence whatsoever that we are looking into the problems where it is, which is on it.
And it's just so.
Because they're lobbied by the NRA in the same way that the Democrats will never look at this issue.
with Benjamin Netanyahu because they're lobbied by A PAC. And so you have a corporate media
that puts out corporate news that has their interests. You have the NRA that has their interest
that has bought and paid politicians. You have the Israel lobby that has bought and paid
both Republicans and Democrats. The only bipartisanship support they have are their corporate
donors. And so then you have a thought leader for liberals as recline.
coming up with a hairbrain idea to start running pro-life.
I mean, for all of us to just go more conservative.
Not only is that divorce from reality,
it's divorce from what happens when the pendulum swings.
And right now you have women and children
that are living under MAGA abortion bans.
Doctors are fleeing.
They're wildly unpopular.
Even with Republicans, these policies in red states
are wildly unpopular.
But the reason we're not talking about
the problem with guns is because of money.
The reason we don't talk about the problems with Israel and the genocide that we're funding
is because of money.
The reason the press doesn't report this properly is because of money.
The through line through all of this is corporate money.
And what happens then is you have an electorate that clings onto these different silos,
some conspiracy theorists, some not.
And the candidates who are breaking through right now, the ones who are truly breaking through that can fill stadiums are the people who are beholden to no one.
And I think it is an absolute fool's errand to continue to bend the knee and provide daylight to corporate causes and Republican structures because Republican structures, patriarchal structures, leave.
people behind. The only argument that is authentic at this point that I think can resonate
with voters in flyover states is an economic populist message. And when abortion comes up,
when trans rights come up, you say yes, because I believe in it for everybody. And I don't
leave anybody behind. You don't like trans people. That's your business. But when I speak about
equality, when I speak about access to health care, that means I'm talking about everybody. And I don't
leave anybody behind. You don't want an abortion. You don't want your daughter to have an abortion.
You want your daughter to carry her rapist baby. That's your business. But as politicians,
as the Democratic Party, we apply equality to everyone, even the people you don't like, because
guess what? Sometime down the line, you might love somebody who's marginalized and we're
advocating for them in advance. It's such a layup. It drives me insane that now we have.
have liberal thought leaders caving to misogynist patriarchal ideas that we will continue to lose
time and time again at the polls.
Next up, we have D.L. Demon Queen Benny Johnson.
He's madder than a hornet over a bad bunny.
And I don't know what's going on with the NFL.
It's kind of fascinating because I was so off on the NFL when they made black players
participate in a moment of silence for a racist named Charlie Kirk.
I was so offended by that.
It struck me to my core.
But now they have said they are going to have bad bunny be the halftime entertainment.
Of course, Mag is completely melting down because he is Hispanic and anti-Trump.
Kylie popped this up.
Okay, so Benny Johnson.
And I want to remind everybody, Benny Johnson is.
a D.L. Demon Queen that is dying to go on the world's largest gay crews. He says,
this is Bad Bunny. He was just announced as the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. Massive Trump
hater, anti-ice activists, no songs in English. He even canceled his entire U.S. tour for this
reason. Fucking ice could be outside my concert. And it's something that we're talking about and very
concerned about. And then Benny Johnson says the NFL is destructing year after year.
So good on the NFL for doing this. I guarantee you, Canks will start calling Roger Goodell
and he will start messing with this. And at some point, we'll see, will the NFL hold firm
or will they capitulate as well? And based on what I've seen thus far, they'll probably
capitulate. And Bad Bunny talking about ice being outside.
of his concerts and advocating for people with humanity and for their dignity is something
that the NFL should prop up, considering the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry
built on the backs of African-American athletes whom they allowed those athletes to be exploited
and humiliated when they had moments of silence for Charlie Kirk.
who is an outward, outward, unapologetic, unrepentant racist.
So I want to keep an eye on this thing because it will be interesting
because I've seen Roger Goodell in the White House kissing Trump's ass.
And so he's going to start melting down because these are the vanity projects that he cares about
while Stephen Miller is completely dismantling the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Interesting that last year, the Super Bowl halftime was Kendrick Lamar that made
no bones about his absolute disdain for Trump.
This I wondered in the back of my head and maybe I'm giving the NFL too much credit that
there was a huge backlash because of what you said, the racism from Charlie Kirk in the
moment of silence and I'm like, was this kind of, okay, we're course correcting and then I
remember how they treated Colin Kaepernick.
So I too am intrigued by this, but it's just the meltdown by Maga about
art and music and creators it really is something to behold i mean they're just such babies they're such
titty babies they won't be happy unless it's some mega rock christian band praise worship and it's just
so unbelievable how void of culture and open-mindedness and humanity this movement is and so i don't
think there's accidents and organizations that are this organized like the NFL. I think that they
have to, they've kind of had to straddle a little bit with the president inviting. And then there was
the team owners that did that opted to do the moment of silence, which I think the NFL should have
said absolutely not. We're not doing that because I think that was just a disgrace. It was an
absolute disgrace to have moments of silence for Charlie Kirk. If you want to have a moment of
silence for all that have died of gun violence, I'm fine with that. But for a racist who was
unrepentant and unapologetic about his racism, his last words before he was murdered,
was to blame gun violence on gangs, which we all know who they think are in gangs. What's that
signaling is? His last words were racist. And so that was just so,
disgusting to me and a set. My husband, I haven't been able to even, like, even think about the
NBA. I mean, the NFL. So I hope, I hope that this is a move in standing up for the millions,
millions of Latino Americans and an acknowledgement about how much better our country is, because it is
multicultural, about the flavors that all of this brings to all of us, even to a halftime
Super Bowl, seeing a Latino successful Latino artist that stands up for the many, many millions of
people that are completely innocent that have been kidnapped and disappeared by ICE, by this
fascist regime. So I'm hopeful that they stay the course and don't bend the knee. So we'll just
keep an eye on this because, you know, it's fascinating because Trump is making everything a culture
War, and this is like the epicenter of American culture, the NFL.
