Starting point is 00:00:00 Indycast is presented by Uprocks's Indie Mix tape. Hello, everyone, this is Steve, and I'm not here with Ian. Ian is out of town, he's on vacation. I'm recording this on Thursday afternoon. Normally, this is the time when the week's Indie cast episode would be edited together by our brilliant editor, Brian Brinkman. Unfortunately, as sometimes, happens in life.
Starting point is 00:00:41 There was some technical difficulties. And Ian's side of the conversation, there was some sort of vile corruption going on. The long and the short of it is, there's no episode this week. My side is crystal clear, pink Floyd, dark side of the moon, audio quality. Ian's side, apparently, it's not exactly. It's not existent. I think there's maybe two minutes of usable audio there. This kind of thing happens.
Starting point is 00:01:15 I'm the one who has had the technical problems in the past. So it's my turn to feel smug and self-satisfied that it was Ian this time and not me. I'm trying to think of the episode that we did. You know, to be honest, it wasn't a great episode. We didn't have a ton to talk about this week. We had some really good letters, which hopefully we will revisit in a later episode. But yeah, there's no episode this week.
Starting point is 00:01:48 I just want to give a shout out to Blitz and Trapper. They have a new record out this week. They're the band that I recommended in Recommendation Corner. A band that I loved in the Oats, then fell off with a little bit. and then I got the promo of the new record that's out today. It's called hundreds of thousands, millions of billions. And it's a great record.
Starting point is 00:02:11 It's actually going to make my mid-year list, I think. It's a really good list, and I recommend checking it out. If you are a proponent of patio music, you'll want to put that on this weekend. So I wanted to make sure I shouted that out. I think we talked about our album drafts, teams. Looks like Ian beat me again. We'll have to revisit that in our next. episode.
Starting point is 00:02:36 What else? What else did we talk? I can't even really remember what we talked about. We talked about Kings of Leon. That's why I can't remember. We talked about their new record. Can we please have fun? A record I wanted to love.
Starting point is 00:02:52 But, because I have affection for Kings of Leon. I've been actually listening to them again recently for personal as well as professional reasons for an upcoming project I'm working on listening to Kings. the Leon. So I wanted to love this record. I didn't love it, unfortunately. It's not as good as I want it to be and it's not as bad as I want it to be. It's like in the middle. So that was a disappointment. We also talked about Los Campesinos. They have a new song out this week and they announced the record that I believe is coming out in July. Ian's a big fan of that band. I could care less about Los Camposinos. No shot at them. I just, you know, they're not my thing.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I think I described them in the episode that was lost as if the proclaimers listened to Titus and Dronicus once. That to me is Los Campesinos. We also talked about Blood Brothers. They announced a tour. They're going to be back. They're reissuing their record crimes. Another band I don't care about. So as you can see, I wasn't hugely committed to the bands that we were talking about this week.
Starting point is 00:04:00 But it was still fun. You know, it's too bad they get lost. I'm sorry. I know a lot of you look forward to the show on Friday. I'm sad that we won't be able to hook you up this week. But yeah, you know, technical staff who's happened? I've been the person who has screwed things up in the past, so I am in a way relieved that Ian did at this time.
Starting point is 00:04:22 It makes me feel less bad about my past screw-ups. So, yeah, we'll be back next week. It'll be a good episode. Hopefully Ian will figure out his technical issues, and mine will hopefully continue to be Cracker Jack, as usual. Thank you all for listening. Again, I'm sorry, no episode this week. Hopefully, this little what?
Starting point is 00:04:44 How long am I going here? I can't really see my timer here. I think I talked about five minutes. Maybe that's enough. That's enough out of me. You don't need me by myself. Probably enough of me already. I probably talked too long.
Starting point is 00:04:56 So anyway, thank you, and I'm sorry. We'll be back with more news reviews and hashing out trends. next week.
