Starting point is 00:00:00 From late-nighter.com, it's late night last night with John Schneider. And now here's John. Hello, everybody, and welcome to Late Night Last Night here on this Friday, October 24th, to talk about everything that we saw in Late Night last night on October 23rd. We had four shows on the air last night. And over at NBC, we had the tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon, where he brought back thank you notes and showbotics, two of his, you know, actually, well, thank you notes is like the biggest segment that Fallon's had on the show.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Showbotics has been something he's been doing for a while. Two segments I get very excited about. But thank you notes in particular. It's been months since we've seen that on the show. And it was exciting to have that back. So always great when we get to see it. And showbotics is this robotics segment that. we had an insult robot on the show with Fallon last night.
Starting point is 00:01:00 So some great segments there. The guests on Fallon last night, Kristen Bell was there to promote, Nobody Wants This, which is out now, season two. Dave Franco was there to promote his new film, Regretting You. And then we had stand up from Jay Jurdon on Fallon last night. Over at Seth, he had a closer look all about inflation and the White House demolition.
Starting point is 00:01:22 So great jokes there from Seth. and then his former co-cast member on Saturday Night Live, Leslie Jones, was the main guest on Seth last night, where she is there to promote her comedy special Life Part 2, also talked about her role in the 50th anniversary special in Black Jeopardy alongside Eddie Murphy and Tracy Morgan and just saying how funny it was to be in that sketch. Amelia D'Moldenberg is the second guest on Seth last night.
Starting point is 00:01:48 She's there to promote the YouTube series Passenger Princess and has some great back and forth with Seth over at Colbert, We got a monologue on the East Wing demolition, and he's going to do his segment, meanwhile, where he talks about other subjects in the news that aren't just politics. Ben Stiller is the main guest on Colbert, who I think had the interview of the night last night. He's there to promote the documentary. Stiller and Mira, nothing is lost to talk about, you know, his parents performing at the Ed Sullivan Theater back in the day and showing some great footage of that.
Starting point is 00:02:18 He also has a great story about his new soft drink, Stillers, that he was walking down the street, to go to Colbert and he saw someone drinking it and he said he would mention him on Colbert. So that was a good story there. And Tignitaro is the second guest on Colbert over at the Daily Show, Michael Costa is hosting for the final day of the week. We get an appearance from Josh Johnson who is playing sort of a podcast bro who's talking about how everyone of the podcast bros are excited about ballrooms now that Trump is doing the White House demolition and Jeff Tweedy makes his way over to the Daily show after we
Starting point is 00:02:51 saw him earlier in the week on Colbert to promote his. new album. So those are the four shows that aired last night. We're expecting Kimmel to return next week. So we'll have all the shows on the air. And Fallon actually has a show on Sunday of this week after Sunday night football. So there's going to be a lot of late night news coming up next week. Of course, I've been really enjoying doing this late night last night every single day here over at late nighter to talk through everything we saw in the late night shows. I think that the feedback's been really great. But we haven't really necessarily picked up the audience that we were looking for on the daily basis to come and listen to what we have to say about the late
Starting point is 00:03:28 night shows and me giving all that information to you. So we're still workshopping exactly how to provide that information to you. Of course, we have our amazing stories every single day up at late-nighter.com. And we will be doing a roundtable once a month that I'll still be hosting here at late-nighter with Bill Carter, Mark Malkoff, and other late-night experts to talk about everything that's happening in late-night. So our goal at late-nighter is always still to be the place to go to hear about late-night-night. news and what's going on around the late night universe. But I'm not sure that I will be back
Starting point is 00:03:57 here for late night last night every day moving forward. I'll still be producing inside late night over at Mark Malka's podcast where he's interviewing great late night guests. So really looking forward to being a part of that and of course hosting these roundtables. So you still hear from me over at the late night podcast network feed and I'll be finding other ways to work with late night or to provide great late night news for you. But for those who have listened to late night last night for the last month, I hope you've enjoyed what you've heard here and always appreciate hearing the feedback and you can of course check me out over at the Saturday Night Network talking about SNL multiple times a week. So that's where
Starting point is 00:04:31 you can catch me if you want to keep hearing from me almost every day over there. But yeah, looking forward to continuing to stay up to date on what's happening in late night. I want to thank you all for listening and for everyone here at Late Nighter. My name is John Schneider and we will see you next time. Have a good one.
