Chris
The
Oh, welcome back, my friend,
to another one
here on InSight.
I'm CVV.
Chris Van Fleet.
Thank you for being a real one
and for spending some of your Friday
with me on an AskCTVV episode.
And thank you for making Insight
the number one wrestling podcast
on the planet.
Hit a choke slam on that follow button
on Apple or Spotify or wherever it is
you're listening right now.
I want to make sure you don't miss out
on any new interviews every Tuesday.
and Thursday and Ask CVV every single Friday,
but you already knew that because you're here right now.
I am fresh off of building the 12-foot Home Depot skeleton
that now resides in our front yard.
And my two and a half-year-old daughter, Logan,
thinks this is the greatest thing ever.
She keeps calling him Big Skelly.
Can I go see Big Skelly?
What's Big Skelly doing?
So we go out and visit Big Skelly several times a day now.
but I completely underestimated how long it would take to unbox and build a 12-foot skeleton.
But I guess none of this really matters now because it's up and it looks awesome.
So if you are in Orange County, California and you drive by a house that has a 12-foot skeleton
outside of it, there's a chance.
There is a chance that that is my big skelly there.
We've got two live shows on the way.
Tickets for both of those are on sale right now.
First of all, we're kicking off Survivor Series weekend in San Diego.
It's Friday, November 28th.
And then we've got WrestleMania 42.
The Thursday of WrestleMania Week, that's Thursday, April 16th.
We're back at Circa Resort and Casino, Las Vegas.
It was a huge show earlier this year.
Next year is going to be so much bigger.
grab those tickets at CVVTix.com.
That's CVVTIX.com.
Thank you for all of the questions you sent in for this week and welcome, my friends,
to Ask CVV number 101 fatal four way.
And if you've got a question for next week,
I don't have a fancy name for Ask CVV 105,
but if you can think of one, let me know.
But send it in on the comments on.
on Spotify, shoot me an email, CVV at chris famefleet.com or leave it on social media with that hashtag
Ask CVV. We'll kick this off with this one from Tim Siblock on Spotify who says, hey, CVV, who wins
at Crown Jewel this weekend? So let's go through these matches here and let's take a look at the
odds at my bookie when you sign up at my bookie and you use my code. CVV, you'll get a very nice, very
healthy 50% welcome bonus on your first deposit. We've got champion versus champion Stephanie
Vakere versus Tiffany Stratton for the women's crown jewel championship. And I feel the same way
about this match as I do about the Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes match. Sure. In theory, it's cool that we've
got champion versus champion, the world champion versus the WWE champion. But my big question with both
of these matches is how does it push the story forward?
Like, it just feels like this exists on an island of its own.
Like, this has no relevancy to the actual, like, larger storyline.
And I'm just curious if they're actually going to do something that will push the story
forward.
I feel like there's a chance with the Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes match.
I don't feel that same way with the Stephanie Vicar and Tiffany Stratton match.
The odds favor Stephanie in this match.
I'm going to agree. I think Stephanie takes the win here. But again, what is the, what is the purpose
of winning that extremely large, oversized crown jewel championship other than to just take a photo
with the other winner? Like the men's winner and the women's winner, we'll take a photo together
and I kind of feel like that's all we got last year. But I'm going to go with Stephanie Vicaran.
I hope to be surprised that this creates some sort of new storyline, maybe not between them, but
hopefully it creates some sort of storyline for Tiffany, for Stephanie, that they can push
forward from here into Survivor Series and then into 2026.
Let's move over to Seth Rollins versus Cody Rhodes.
As we know, they've been talking about this a lot.
Seth Rollins has never beat Cody Rhodes in a one-on-one match.
Oh, and three in the televised matches that they've had together.
I personally think this is Seth Rollins' chance to pick up a W.
The odds favor him as well.
He's a minus 400 here.
I think Seth Rollins wins this match.
And I think that there might be a chance here.
Like I think we could see some outside interference or something that costs Cody the match
and allows Seth Rollins to pick up the victory.
We already know that Seth Rollins has his cronies, maybe one of the bronze steps in here.
Maybe Paul Heyman serves it as a distraction.
but I think Seth Rollins gets the victory here.
And that's also kind of one that we can just like,
just file into our memory.
Because I feel like this isn't the end of Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.
And I feel like there'll be another matchup for them,
maybe at some point next year,
where it's not just this crown jewel championship on the line,
where it's, maybe it's the world championship on the line,
or maybe it's the WWE championship on the line.
I feel like there's a chance for them to revisit this and go,
Hey, remember what happened last time we fought each other?
Well, keep that in mind here.
So I'm going to go with Seth Rollins,
but I just hope that there's something more to this match.
And then we were talking last week about, man,
how could they not have Bronson Reed on this card?
He's Australia's own.
This is in Perth, Australia.
Well, they must have listened to us,
or maybe I just jumped the gun
and set it a few hours before it was announced
or a few days before it was announced.
But now we've got an official match here.
It's going to be Roman Reins versus Bronson Reed
in an Australian street fight.
We saw what happened last time these guys were together.
Clash in Paris.
Roman Reins picked up the win,
but it was kind of like one of those situations
where Bronson Reed lost the battle
but won the war because Roman Reins was taken out of the ring
on a stretcher after multiple tsunamis by Bronson Reed.
I don't really, I don't really know again what happens here.
Like, what is Roman Raines gain if he wins this match?
Again, what does Bronson Reed gain?
I guess a victory over Roman Raines is a pretty big thing.
Roman Raines really doesn't take a lot of losses.
I think because it's a street fight, you've got the option for a lot of outside interference.
Like, how shocked would you be?
How shocked would you be if Bronbroker?
doesn't make some sort of appearance in this match.
I'd be blown away if that doesn't happen.
We know that he's in Australia.
Bronson Reed posted a workout photo of them earlier this week.
So we know Bronwyn Bram Breaker is in Australia.
I think Bronzer plays a big role in this match,
which maybe then leads to Roman Raines versus Brom Breaker.
Perhaps that's a WrestleMania match.
And we start seeing the seeds planted for it now.
So I'm going to go Bronson Reed picking up a massive victory.
on this one.
Speaking of Australia's own, we've got Ria Ripley and Eo's sky taking on the Kabuki Warriors
in a tag team matchup.
The odds heavily favor Ria and Eio, and why wouldn't they?
How could you have Ria Ripley going to this match with the Australian crowd firmly behind
her and not have her win this match?
And again, this is a match with no stakes here.
This is just a tag team matchup.
So I'm going to go with Ria and Eio.
I think that that's an easy pick for that one.
And then it takes us to John Sina's fifth last appearance, perhaps fifth last match.
We don't know what other matches he has confirmed for the rest of the year, but it's John Sina taking on AJ Styles one last time.
And I'll reiterate again that I love how this match came together.
I love that we already know the history that has taken place between these two.
I love that we already know how good this match is going to be.
And AJ's been, you know, building this up on his own while John Cena hasn't been making appearances since the last time we saw him.
But I just love that this match was made on Twitter.
I really do love that.
Sam Roberts says this all the time that everything counts now in this era of wrestling.
And he's so true.
Twitter matters.
TikTok matters.
Talk show appearances matter.
Things that happen on the red carpet.
it that matters. All of it matters. And I appreciate that they were able to put this one together
on Twitter. The crowd got behind them. The fans got behind them. And within hours after that initial
tweet was sent, boom, the match was official. John Sina, big favorite here. And I don't see how
John Sina can't win this match and give him that momentum as he goes into his final four appearances.
We've got Raw in Boston, raw at Madison Square Garden, Survive.
Viver Series, and then John Cena's final match, December 13th.
And it should be pointed out.
I said last week that this match was going to be on NBC.
That was the original plan.
That's where Saturday night's main event has been all year.
This will be taking place on Peacock, which has some pros and cons.
The pro is obviously we're not going to have the Goldberg situation.
There is no chance now with, there's no time limits here.
It's not network television.
they're not going to be cutting off any sort of speech at all.
The other big pro is they're not beholden to the same sort of commercial schedule.
They're not going to have to take commercials every, I'm just making this up,
but every 12 minutes, every 14 minutes, the commercials won't be the same.
The commercials, as you've seen on PLEs, have been before matches, after matches.
They've been timed out better.
It's not like, here's six minutes, six minutes of action, and then we're going to go to a commercial.
And here's another little bit of action.
Then we're going to go to a commercial.
So there's a big pro there, huge pro.
So for everybody saying his speech is going to be cut off just like it was with Goldberg's speech,
it's not going to be the case at all.
Like, sure, it will be the same broadcast in the fact that it's the same name.
It is Saturday night's main event.
But it will have a completely different rundown.
And by rundown, I mean a completely different like segment times, commercial break time.
like that whole format of the show, as they call it in television. The whole format's going to be
completely different because it's not on network television. It's on a streaming service. It's on
Peacock. The downside here is not nearly as many people are going to be able to see it unless you're
subscribed to Peacock. With Saturday night's main event typically airing on NBC, anybody who has access
to network television, anybody who has an antenna and lives near a major city in the United States,
you were able to see this for free
or whatever the cost of your antenna was
when you purchased that.
With this, you've either got to still have
your Peacock subscription from when the PLEs
were on Peacock, or maybe you carried it over.
Maybe you've been a Peacock subscriber for a while.
Or you're going to need to resubscribe to Peacock
in order to see this.
Or maybe you have to be a new subscriber to Peacock to see this.
I'll just throw this out there.
NordvPN.com slash CVVV.
Just saying they're a great sponsor of the show.
Kyle Manat on Facebook says,
what are the chances Brock Lesnar shows up for Crown Jewel
to ruin the Cody Rhodes versus Seth Rollins match?
It gives the setup for Cody versus Lesnar
and it gives Seth his win against Cody.
Since it's a DQ, the vision is mad
because Seth wanted to beat Cody.
So now the vision interfere in the Cody-Lesner match
to set up Braun versus Lesnar.
Braun versus Lesnar, I feel like it's a match that's going to be coming at some point for sure.
I think that that's a match we absolutely get.
But not before Braun versus Roman like I just talked about.
Here's the thing about this.
And I agree with you.
I think we could have some sort of shenanigans going on in this match.
I think that that feels like it has to take place,
especially with the fact that there's like really no sticks here other than the Crown Jewel Championship.
But if you win the match by DQ, how do you feel like holding this championship, having this
crown jewel championship?
Because yeah, you won the match, but you won the match by DQ.
So I agree with you.
Something needs to happen in this match.
I don't see just a straight up wrestling match bell to bell without any sort of outsider
interference here.
You've got too many variables at play here.
But let me ask you this, Kyle.
is Brock Lesnar going to fly all the way to Perth, Australia, just to do a running?
Maybe.
It's certainly possible.
And I'm not saying it's not going to happen.
But is that Cody Rhodes next match?
That's the big question here.
If that is Cody Rhodes next match, if that's Cody Rhodes next feud, if Cody versus
Lesnar is the next thing we see, then absolutely.
That makes sense for Brock Lesnar to be there and interfere in this match.
but it seems to me that maybe we're finally going to get the payoff of Randy Jordan versus Cody Rhodes.
Randy Orton has been teasing this turn on Cody Rhodes and been staring at that title for far too long,
for there ought to be a payoff at some point soon.
So I actually think that Cody Rhodes next major feud is going to be Randy Orton.
I don't know what this means for Brock Leser.
You know, this is the interesting thing about Brock Leser.
is you don't need to see him that frequently to just kind of know that he's around.
And I still feel like Brock Lesnar versus Gunther is like ready to go.
Like it's a match they talked about doing two years ago.
It was supposed to happen.
I feel like that one's still going to happen.
And to me, that's what it feels like we're going to get next.
So maybe it's Randy Orton who comes in and screws Cody.
out of this. I know that a lot of people have been talking about a Cody Rhodes heel turn.
I don't think it's happening yet. We'll get to that in a little bit. But I agree with you, Kyle,
that something happens in that match. But I don't know if it's Brock Leser. I wouldn't be surprised
if it's Brock Lesnar, but I don't know. I don't know if it's Brock Lesnar. This episode is brought

Jack Patterson, 15 on Instagram, says,
what are your expectations for Bound for Glory,
especially from the Hardys versus 3D
and Slater versus Evans?
What a weekend we have for wrestling?
What a weekend for wrestling?
We've got Crown Jewel on Saturday,
Bound for Glory on Sunday,
and Bound for Glory is TNA's biggest show of the year.
this is like their,
their WrestleMania.
So a stacked card
top to bottom,
including for one last time,
the Hardys versus Team 3D.
It's a tables match
for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.
I also believe that NXT tag team championships
are on the line as well.
If you remember the episode
that I did with Devon Dudley
a few months ago,
Devon made it pretty clear
that he had like one match,
left in him. And this was before things were formally announced with the Hardee's, but he basically said,
I think I've got one match left in me. And if I do this one last match, it's got to be with the Hardee's.
So that's exactly what we're getting here. We're getting Devon and Bubba Ray, Devon and Bolly Ray together
one last time as Team 3D and TNA against their greatest rivals ever, the Hardees. So this is likely,
sounds like not just team 3D's last match together,
it sounds like this is also Devon's last match.
So with that in mind here,
I don't see any situation other than the Hardee's winning this match.
The Hardee's are, they're week in, week out.
It's NXT, it's TNA, it's in the appearances.
They are working.
Like they are, they are like still going for.
So with that,
knowledge. I think you got to know that the Hardys are going to retain these championships and then
just keep going. As Matt Hardy would say, the Hardys are forever. But I can't wait for that match.
I am so pumped for that match. Then we got Leon Slater, is taken on Jevonne Evans.
Leon Slater, the current X-Division champion. And have you seen the new X-Division belt? Oh, my gosh. It's
beautiful. All of TNA's championships are beautiful, but I just love the redesign of the X-Division
championship. So Leon Slater putting that X-Division title on the line against Javon Ed for Evans,
this is going to just be bananas. And we'll highlight a few of the matches that you talked about,
but I can't wait for this match. I talked about it with Nick Nemeth in yesterday's show,
but Leon Slater is, he's just so talented. And I can't believe. I can't believe.
believe this, I can't believe this swan ton 450 that he does. It's so smooth. And when you think about it,
like, both are these, like, high-flying moves tough to pull off, he somehow combines them together.
Oh, yeah. And by the way, as Nick Nemeth pointed out yesterday, he just turned 21. Like, Leon Slater
just turned 21 like a few weeks ago. The future is so, so bright for him. I think he picks up the
victory in this one. And man, I can't wait. I think we're also going to see a new TNA world champion.
It is finally time for Mike Santana to win that championship. And I'm just so excited for him.
He's put in so much work. He looks like a champion. He carries himself like a champion.
What a story he has. If he haven't listened to the episode I did with him recently, it's from a few
months ago. Go and check that out. Trick Williams has been such a great TNA world champion.
but I think it's finally Mike Santana's time,
and I can't wait to see him have that crowning moment pumped for that.
So crown jewel, bound for glory.
What a weekend for wrestling.
I love it.
Louisin underscore Parisgo on Instagram says,
Hey, CVV, my question is,
do you think people will be disappointed if Edge is not John Cena's final opponent?
opponent. I think the reality is people are going to be upset no matter who the final opponent is.
And this is the thing about wrestling that's so interesting. It's all about expectations and reality.
And when the expectations that you have are not met by the reality of what the situation is,
it's just a recipe for disappointment. So there's a lot of people going, it's got to be dirty dumb.
There's a lot of people saying, oh man, it's got to be someone like Gunther.
I want to see Brom Breaker.
Could it be the rock?
Like we can go on and on and on about all these different people who it may possibly be.
I think that Edge would be a lovely surprise, especially because the big thing is we don't
know what his contract is with AEW.
And he's not currently on AEW television.
There was a segment where he said to Christian Cage, like, I've got to go home for a bit.
And he's been written off of AEW.
Is that for a few weeks?
Is that for a few months?
Is that forever?
We don't know.
And that's kind of the cool thing.
Whether that's been done intentionally or whether that is just a lovely coincidence,
it has people talking.
And the interesting thing is if you're talking about Edge slash Adam Copeland,
you're inevitably talking about AEW.
So I just loved it.
Whatever brand it is you watch,
or if you're like me and you watch everything,
and I assume you do,
it's just cool that that's all part of the same.
conversation right now. So I wonder how and when they're going to announce John Cena's final
opponent. Is it going to happen after Survivor Series that would give us two weeks leading up to it?
That's exactly the amount of time between Survivor Series and John Cena's final match in December 13th.
Is it going to happen before that? Like, are we going to know for a month or more going into it?
Just like, this is John Cena's final opponent. Kind of like the way that you, you're going to have him.
you would approach, like, say, a boxing match.
You would just put a date on a calendar and you go, all right, it's this person versus this
person on this date.
But I guess with that logic, you've got to know who comes before that in order to know
who comes after it.
Like, how could you set up John Cena's final opponent without knowing what his second
last opponent is and without knowing who his third last opponent is?
So I think that it will just continue to go the way it's been going where it's in
chronological order. We know it's AJ
style as a crown jewel, and then we can look ahead. All right. Then we've got
his next appearance, his fourth last appearance, Monday Night Raw,
Boston, November 10th. I think it's going to be very similar to the Sammy Zane
situation where Sammy Zane goes out there and basically says, let's have a match. Okay,
boom, let's go. I think it's going to be one of those. I think Johnson could go out there,
cut an impassioned promo.
It's his last appearance in Boston
as an active wrestler.
And I think he can just say,
you want some.
Come, get some.
And then somebody comes out.
I foresee a similar situation
at Madison Square Garden.
There's so much history there
with John Sina.
I don't know if you need a big buildup for those.
People are buying tickets
and have sold out both of those shows,
both of those Monday Night Raws,
just based on the idea that John Sina will be there.
There's the hope that John Cena's going to wrestle,
but you're there to see John Cena perform
at his last Monday night raw in Boston,
his last Monday night raw in New York City.
So I don't think it really matters
what the buildup is to the opponents he has there,
but I'd be shocked if he doesn't wrestle
on both of those shows.
So I still think Edge is like a real slim possibility.
Like I think there's so many other people
on the current WWE roster that would make,
I don't know if they'd make more sense,
but they seem a lot more likely.
And there's a dozen names we could go through,
but we're not going to know until we know.
So I don't know if edge is a possibility,
but I feel like whoever it ends up being,
whoever is named as John Cena's final opponent,
or if it's a surprise, that's a possibility too.
Suppose there's a chance that he could just go out there,
And someone's music could hit.
But whoever it's going to be, yes, people will be disappointed.
Because not disappointed in who the person is, disappointed that the person that they had in their
brain and the expectation they had for that moment is not met.
That's what it's going to be.
Because it really comes down to this.
It's the big question here with what you're asking is, will Edge be back in WWE
ever. That's the big question here. Because if we knew the answer to that was yes, if we knew that
Edge was going to return to WWE at some point in time, then I think we would logically go, well,
yeah, then there's got to be a match against John Steen at some point along the way here.
But the fact that we don't know the answer to that question of, will Edge ever return to
WWE, makes this whole thing very interesting.
Batman 7332 US. What a username on Spotify. Hey, CVV. Question, do you think John Cena might add a
surprise date or make an unscheduled appearance? Also, what do you think about Cina's final match
being available on Peacock and not ESPN? I would love to see John Cino make a surprise special
appearance. And I think that everybody would gain a ton from this, especially if it was a true
surprise. Like not one of those, I'm going to put this in quotations, surprises, not one of those
surprises where they announced it on social media earlier that day or they announced it on social
media the day before. Like if this was one of those true surprises where John Cena is not
advertised and then the show kicks off with his music, that'd be huge. Like I'm looking at
the schedule right now. What if Monday Night Raw in Sacramento, California,
on October 20th, it starts off with his music.
What about the following Monday Night Raw,
Monday, October 27th in Anaheim, California.
I'm going to be there.
If you're going to be there, it'd be awesome.
Chat a little wrestling with you.
What if he made an appearance there?
Or Tempe, Arizona for Smackdown
or Salt Lake City for Smackdown.
There's so many dates.
There's so many Raws and Smackdowns
between his next appearance,
which is Crown Jewel,
and then his appearance after that,
which isn't until Monday Night Raw in Boston on November 10th.
So yes, there is the option here for this to happen.
Anything can happen in the world of pro wrestling.
It just seems unlikely.
It just doesn't seem like it's possible.
I feel like John Cena's entire schedule was laid out at some point in 2024.
and they looked at the entire calendar every Monday, every Friday, every potential PLE date.
And I think they went, where are you here?
What city are you in here?
What are you in here?
Could you clear off this or could you clear off that?
And I think that they came up with these 36 dates.
I think that this was determined a long, long time ago.
And I just don't think there's any wiggle room now.
I don't think there's any possibility with everything.
that John Sina has going on, I don't think there's any possibility to make this work.
It would be amazing if I was wrong about this.
Like, how cool would that be?
If you bought tickets for a show, John Sina's not advertised on that show, and John Sina comes out.
It'd be so cool to see.
And it would kind of fill in the, like connect the dots here a little bit.
If there's only four appearances left, one of them being a PLE,
one of them being a Saturday night's main event, which is also going to be his last match,
it would kind of give us that connective tissue to tell a little bit of story to get us to those matches.
And if that's not possible, I know they'll find a way to make it work like they have with this AJ
style story, which, man, I'm so pumped about for Saturday.
But it just seems unlikely.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for that show that I'm going to on October 27th.
I'm bringing RVV.
So if you're there, come hang out with me in RVV.
But I just doesn't feel like it's that possible.
And we talked about Cina's final match being on Peacock and not ESPN.
It's a, it's a curious move.
There's a lot of different things about this that are curious.
Like, why is it not a PLE?
That's one question.
If it is the Saturday night's main event, why is it on network television?
And I would think that maybe has something to do with the ESPN deal.
but it's an interesting move.
Maybe Peacock, I don't know the behind the scenes workings of this,
maybe Peacock paid a certain amount of money to make this happen.
So it streams there.
I don't know.
But I can guarantee you this.
We probably see a lot less ads with this one.
An email from Will McCormick, who says,
Hey, CVV, you are in a league of your own when it comes to interviews.
No one even comes close.
Well, thank you.
will. I've been listening since that interview with Chris Jericho in the back seat of his car.
That was 2019. That was January 2019. Wow. I noticed the last two episodes didn't have an intro from
you. It just went straight from your downstate entrance theme into the conversation.
Was just a one-off thing for this week? Or is this how it's going to be moving forward?
Is it wrong to say that I preferred getting right into it? Either way, I'll be listening. Keep up the
great work. Will.
will first of all thank you for being a real real one and for listening six and a half years ago
i did that interview with chris jericho where i i drove like four and a half hours from where i live
to ocala florida to record that interview he was doing a live show and like there was really no
dressing room he's like ah we could do the interview like in my car like all right so i hopped in the
backseat of the back seat of the car. My friend, my friend Daniel, who drove with me,
sat in the driver's seat and, like, turned his body around and, like, was holding the camera
on this, like, strange angle for him. But we record that interview. And it was the first interview
Chris Jericho did after officially signing with AEW. So there were obviously a ton of questions.
Jericho was so loyal to WWE since signing there in 1999. Yeah, he had.
dropped out for a little bit and pursued other projects. But when you thought of Chris Jericho from
like 99 to 2019 for those 20 years, you associated him with WW. So it was a huge move for him to go
elsewhere. And he's been now at AEW for six plus years. So thank you for listening since then.
This was not an accident that these last few episodes had no intro. And that's the plan, at least for now,
moving forward. All of the podcasts that I listen to go straight into the episode. And I look at the
trends. I look at the analytics. I look at all that stuff. And I see that there's always a dip at the
start. There's always a dip. And I get that there's ads that start the show off. But I also get there
there, there's like a few minutes of me talking and introducing the guest. There's always a dip.
and then it picks back up when the actual conversation starts.
So I did this kind of as an experiment.
I was like, if all the biggest shows,
if all the biggest podcasts,
don't have an intro,
why do I?
Like, what would happen if we don't?
So,
and I preferred it too.
Well,
I think I preferred just getting right into the conversation,
like kick it off Insight with Chris Van Fleet
and then right into the conversation from there.
Because what am I really saying in the intro?
that you don't already know.
I'm telling you to hit a choke slam on that follow button,
which I assume you've already done
because you're listening to the show.
And I'm telling you who that person is,
telling you what their handle is on Instagram or Twitter.
You can find that in the show notes as well.
I don't feel like I'm delivering a lot of new information there.
So that's why I figured like,
let's just get to the meat and bones of it.
Let's get to the thing you actually clicked on the episode to hear,
which is the conversation itself.
So yes, that is the plan for now.
And that is the plan moving forward
that we're just going to get right into it.
We're going to give you what you came here to listen to.
And then these Ask CVV episodes
will be what they've always been,
where you and I get to hang out for an hour or so
every single Friday.
We will end these, of course,
with a quote at the end of every episode.
But I think I like this,
better. And thank you for picking up on that, Will.
Marshall T.L. Taylor, Brave Star 64 on Instagram.
Ask CVV-104. Do you think one of Sina's last raw matches could be that match against Dom for the title so that Sina can finally become a Grand Slam champion?
I think it's likely not going to happen. I don't think John Sina needs to win the I-C championship.
And your next question here was, I want to say your episode with Dan Soder was my favorite of the year.
My Ask CVV is, what is your Mount Rushmore of Canadian wrestlers?
Shout out from the Durham region.
Actually, this is from Scarborough Jake.
These were right next to each other the way that I put it here.
So thank you, Scarborough, Jake.
And shout out Durham region.
Scarborough is where my mom and dad met.
That's where my grandparents still live, my grandfather.
It's where my mom grew up.
So that's so cool that you're from Scarborough.
I'm from 20 minutes away in Pickering.
I feel like I need to wrap up the other question first here.
I think we will get a match.
I think it's very, very possible we could get a match between John Cena and Dirty
Dom with one of John Cena's final four appearances slash matches.
It'd be such a cool moment to see like that generation versus this generation.
And I have Paul Walter Houser as a guest on the show in a few weeks.
recorded this week. And he asked me a question and said, who's your Mount Rushmore right now of
up and coming talent? So like, who is your Mount Rushmore of like wrestlers under 30? And I'm not
going to give too much away here, but one of the names I said was Dominic Mysterio, who you could
slide right into the championship picture right now and you'd know he'd be ready. And I love that.
So I think that John Sina, like his generation versus Dirty Dom and this new generation together would be a
match. I know it's this lovely idea that we've all romanticized about John Sina winning the
IC championship. I just don't think any of these remaining matches will be for any title at all.
And the reason is because I don't think they need to be. Like, I really think that we're now in
this era of the John Sina farewell tour where it's like Derek Jeter's last season. It's like Kobe
Bryant's last season, where you're just there to see him like doing.
thing. You're buying tickets, not because he's fighting for the world championship or fighting for
the IC title or whatever it is. You're buying tickets or you're watching it on TV because it's
John Cena wrestling for one of the last few times. And I think that that's really it. I'm not saying
it's not possible that John Cena won't get an intercontinental championship match, but he just doesn't
need it. It doesn't need it at all. And if he has this match with Dominic Mysterio, I wouldn't
be surprised if it's not for the Intercontinental Championship or if it is, John Cena's, I don't think
needs to win that. So I would love to see it. I would love for Dirty Dom to be one of John Cena's
final opponents. I just don't think that John Cena's legacy changes at all by whether or not
he wins the Intercontinental Championship. He, because it's so interesting. When you think of the
United States Championship, John Cena is one of the first names, if not the first name that pops into
your head. I don't think it matters if we just, hey, here's an I-C title for like a week or two or
three or whatever it happens to be. But I'd love to see that match. This episode is brought to you
by fast-growing trees. Fall is planting season. And did you know that many plants and trees actually

Back to you, Scarborough, Jake.
my Canadian Mount Rushmore.
So again, I want to say your episode with Dan Soder,
it was my favorite of the year.
My Ask CVV is who is your Mount Rushmore
Canadian wrestlers?
Well, look, you can't have a Canadian Mount Rushmore
without Brett Hart on it.
Best there is, best there was,
and the best there ever will be.
Then I'm going to go with someone
who I just mentioned, Chris Jericho,
and he just celebrated 35 years in pro wrestling
and actually shared a clip of that match with Lance Storm.
Like, what a story that both Lance Storm and Chris Jericho
started their career in the same day as opponents against each other in a match.
Chris Jericho is the absolute king of reinvention,
all of the different monocers he's had,
all of the different gimmicks that he's had.
Chris Jericho's number two.
We're going to go with someone else who we already mentioned during this episode
as well. And that's Adam Copeland slash Edge. And even though he was away for as long as he was
with that neck injury, what a legacy he's had. Like he would be on my Mount Rushmore even after
that first retirement. And we know that there's another retirement coming at some point in time
here. But Edge for sure. Like incredibly accomplished tag team wrestler,
incredibly accomplished singles wrestler some of the best matches and storylines of the 2000s belong to
him edge for sure that leaves us with just one spot left man it's it's always so hard when you do
the mount rushmore's and i i feel like ask cv has just turned into the mount rushmore show
we've done a mount rushmore question on like the last i think six or seven of these if not more
And I'm happy to do it.
You know what?
Let's do a Mount Rushmore question every single Friday.
We'll do the Mount Rushmore of chicken wings.
I'm happy to do that.
I love it.
My final spot on the Canadian Mount Rushmore belongs to Trish Stratis.
And look, there's so many other people that could be on there and lots of honorable mentions.
But when you think about Trish Stratis' career and what she did to advance women's wrestling
and where women's wrestling was when she started and where it is now, 25 years later, and
Trish is still doing it.
And Trish also looks like she's aged 14 minutes in the last 25 years.
It's incredible.
So Trish Stratis, to me, is very deserving of a spot on that Canadian Mount Rushmore.
So that's mine.
And that's mine today.
Maybe it's different next Friday or six Fridays from now or something like that.
like that, but there's a lot of incredible Canadian wrestlers.
So many people that could be part of that conversation, but that's mine.
Those are mine.
Callan Conley on Facebook says, what in the entire F is this Roman J. Jimmy storyline?
Please tell me how we get something exciting and new out of this.
Oh, Kellen, I'm with you.
Where is this thing going?
What are we doing here?
It just feels like they're revisiting this because it's familiar.
And they're revisiting almost for like that nostalgic pop of like,
oh, they're the three guys that were part of the bloodline.
But this isn't really the bloodline,
but it's reminding us of how great the bloodline was.
I'm with you.
Where does this thing go?
Unless it turns into someone turning on someone within the group.
But I just feel like, especially with what,
we saw at Russell Paloza,
Jimmy and Jay didn't need to team together
for that match on a PLE.
Like, it was cool to see them back together
for a tag team match,
but I just don't feel like there was,
like, any stakes in that match.
And Roman already has other things going on here,
like he has this match of Crown Jewel
with Bronson Reed,
and I feel like this is going to build
to something more from there.
And Jay's kind of like,
it's just in the middle right now of like he's not the world champion he's not fighting for the
world championships so let's point him in a tag team match on a PLE I'm with you what is this storyline
and what is the payoff and how patient do we have to be with this payoff because if there is a
payoff coming when is it coming the only thing I can think about right now is maybe this plays in
to something at Survivor Series war games.
It's the only thing I can think about.
They're always traditionally set up as like a team of faces versus a team of heels.
I would think the vision is part of the Survivor Series match in some sort of way,
throw in a few more heels.
Boom, you've got a team of five.
So then on the other side of that, it seems easy to build out Roman and Jay and Jimmy,
throw in maybe
CM Punk
or lots of other people
that could be in that spot,
but like that's what it feels like
right now.
But man,
I just hope that Survivor's series
means something.
Like I feel like the men's match last year
had a lot of great build for it
and like things actually felt like
it came together and mattered.
And we got some really good storytelling
up to that match.
Amazing story.
telling within that match as well.
And it just felt like the women's match was thrown together.
Like I just said, here's five baby faces, here's five heels.
Throw them together.
We'll see what happens.
The match was good, but there was just nothing to like really sink your teeth into
with that one.
So that's the only thing I can think of here is maybe that gets us to Survivor series.
Maybe.
Also, they've been teasing a Jay Heel turn.
which I don't know if that's actually going to happen or maybe they're just like
kind of flirting with that idea.
But could be interesting, which actually leads us right in this next one here from
Brandon McClure on Facebook who says,
who's a superstar who you think would benefit from a heel or face turn?
My answer for this is L.A. Knight.
Yeah.
I would love to see L.A. Knight turn heel.
and he it feels like it's it's just like half a step away for him because he already has so much
swagger he already has like this attitude to him i i think it would just be it would be a simple
turn for him and i think that we'd see what he's really capable of doing because l a night has
his catchphrases l a night has this incredible charisma l a night has a theme song that gets everybody
on their feet and gets them excited but i feel like a heel turn would give him another
layer and would really allow us to see what he's capable of on the mic. It would be amazing
to see him feud, like, because he's been kind of teasing this, right? He's been kind of leaning into
this a little bit. CM Punk, mega over as a baby face, and there's like, there's some tension there.
I would love to see him like fully turn heel, and then we could see what he's capable of.
And like I said, in the last question, a J. Uso heel turn, that could be interesting too.
But I just feel like he's too over right now.
And this is the same situation that Cody Rhodes falls into.
Jay Uso's so over right now.
If they're going to really make Jay Uso a heel, which I don't think is going to happen.
But to turn J Uso heel, you got to change his theme song.
And now he can't be saying yeet.
so then if there's no theme song and there's no entrance and then now there's no merch
taken away like all of the things that make j uso j uso and this is the same type of argument
with cody roads i know there's so many people that think that this weekend is the weekend
that cody roads turns heel how could he not cody roads needs this he needs to go full
homelander. I just don't think there's a big enough baby face that's able to step up right now
and step into the role that Cody Rhodes has been filling. And by that, I mean, Cody Rhodes has
basically been what John Cena was for a long time. He's that workhorse champion. He's that guy who's
going to show up early and stay late. He's the guy who's going to be at the live events. He's the guy
who's going to do the charity appearances. He's the guy who's going to do all the media and do all the
and do the interviews.
And Cody Rhodes has been doing that.
And he's been doing it all with a smile on his face.
And there's so many young kids in the audience that go just to see Cody Rhodes.
If you turn him heel, you take all of that away from him.
Now he can't, now he can't be like shaking hands and kissing babies and doing all that stuff.
And I just don't think there's someone that's able to step into that role as the face of
WWE right now. If you think I'm wrong here, let me know. But who else is on that level?
Who else is over in that kind of way? And I don't just mean over on television. I mean over in terms of
like calling up Cody and saying, hey, we need you to do first take on ESPN this morning.
Then we need you to do this other interview. And then we need you to go to this charity appearance
here. Like he's the guy who just says yes to everything. And I think that if you turn him,
he's not able to do that stuff.
And if he turns heel, who steps into that role?
Seriously.
Who would it be?
Because I don't think that there's someone that's like right there and ready to do it.
And until there is, I don't think that Cody Rosen can turn heel.
I don't think it happens this calendar year.
Again, I know that it's WWE and anything could happen, but I don't see that happening.
I think an LA night heel turn would hit so right.
And I'm here for it.
An email from Jason Herman.
How's it going, Chris?
I don't know if I'm the only one that hopes this or thinks this way,
but what if AJ Stiles comes out with his short hair and shaved face for the crown jewel match?
I've been watching a lot of older matches lately,
and there's just something that I would feel would spark that nostalgic drug that you always talk about.
It's silly, but I would love to know how you feel about the simple things.
like this. I feel it makes certain matches very different and more memorable. What is your favorite
surprise throwback that you've seen from a wrestler? So I would love this. And specifically, AJ Styles and
TNA is my favorite version of AJ Styles because that was the version that like really introduced me
to AJ Styles and all of the things that he was capable of. But here's the thing. AJ coming out
tomorrow at Crown Jewel with short hair wouldn't make a lot of
sense within the world of WWE.
We've never seen AJ Styles in WWE with short hair or a clean-shaven face.
That is strictly a TNA look.
So if he were to do that, I think it would have a lot of people who maybe aren't familiar
with his work in TNA or new fans to him who haven't seen him beyond his debut in
WWE in 2016.
I think they'd be going, well, why did AJ cut his hair?
So it would be nostalgic for some of us, but I think confusing for a lot of people.
So I would love to see it.
I just, it doesn't seem like that's something that we would see.
I think that there would be, and also cutting your hair and shaving your face isn't like
putting on vintage trunks like Randy Orton did at WrestleMania 41, where like you saw
the trunks that he wore and you went, oh, wow, those are reminiscent of similar colors with
the blue and yellow that he wore 20 years ago.
Like that's something you, like putting on, putting on ring gear is one thing.
Shaving your face and cutting your hair, that's an investment.
That is a month's long investment to get back to where you were at before you cut your hair
and shaved your face.
So I think it'd be cool to see that.
But I don't think that that's something that, like, it doesn't really belong in WWE in the
sense that like, that's two different versions of AJ styles.
TNA, AJ's basically one character.
then you got New Japan, AJ, which is actually kind of the genesis for the grittier version that we saw
when AJ debuted in WWE. And then you've got that WWE version. So they're different versions of
AJ. And I just don't think that TNA version of AJ is what people associate this version of
AJ with in WWE. But my favorite surprise throwback that I've seen from a wrestler, man, there's so many.
And some of them are so subtle. Like,
Some of them are just like, oh, that's a throwback to someone's ring gear or that's a throwback
to that person's own ring gear, like I said, with Randy Orton.
I think that those things are cool because it's just a tip of the cap to like the hardcore
fans.
And it's a way of like paying tribute to an older version of yourself.
And it's also a way of like winking to the audience and going, hey, you've been watching
this for five, 10, 20, 30, 40, however long.
You've been watching it for your whole life.
It's a way of going, wow, you remember when I wore those trunks at, I'm just making this up here,
but you remember when I wore those trunks at SummerSlam 2004?
Or you remember that match at Survivor Series 99 or whatever the case may be.
That stuff I love so much.
Those callbacks are just so cool because it makes us go, ah, that's the thing.
I know that reference.
Like in AEW, not long ago,
when there was the low blow with Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho.
And it was like an absolute callback to the WrestleMania 19 match
with Jericho low blowing Sean Michaels and then like collapsing onto him.
And then Jericho just like tossing him off to the side.
So cool.
They were even wearing similar gear.
Like Sammy Guevara is wearing the blue and gold,
just like how Chris Jericho was wearing.
and back in WrestleMania 19,
and Sean Michaels was wearing the red and black,
and Jericho in this match was wearing red and black.
Like, it's the details, the details.
And then, like, another one that pops into my mind
was when Samoa Joe and MJF did a call back to the shove.
Like, when MJF was working as security for a match years ago,
and Samoa Joe's kind of like shoved him out of the way
backstage as he was walking to the ring,
and then they did a callback to,
to it when they were feuding with each other.
I think, like, that type of stuff is the stuff that you go,
ah, I see it.
I love it.
David Romero on Spotify says,
Hey, CVV, a Mount Rushmore question.
Here's another one for Ask CVV number 104.
What's your Mount Rushmore of wrestling props,
items that are associated with a wrestler?
My list is Mr. Sacco, Al Snow's head,
Jeff Jarrett's guitar,
and Carlito's Apple. A solid list for sure. Mick Foley's Mr. Sacco has to be on there.
Man, these Mount Rushmore questions, they're getting more and more interesting. You guys are good.
You guys are good. So I'm going to go Mick Foley's Mr. Sacco for sure. I'm going to go
Triple H's sledgehammer. Like I can't look at a sledgehammer to this day, to this day, without
thinking about Triple H. Like, how do you get a sledgehammer over? All the weapons to get over.
Sledgehammer. I will go with the Hardy Boys, but I guess more specifically, Jeff Hardy and the ladder.
Lots of people have had ladder matches, but I don't know about you. I'm sure you've seen the memes
online. I don't know about you, but every time I'm climbing the ladder, whether I'm putting together a
12 foot Home Depot skeleton or I'm hanging the Christmas lights, I get one or two rungs up and I just start
thinking, dan and dan and dan and dan and dan and dan and dan and da da da da da da da da da. It's so good. And I did the Mount Rushmore
last week of the theme songs without lyrics. I feel like I left off the Hardy Boys theme song from
the honorable mentions. That in Gangrel. Someone pointed out like, how could you not talk about
gangrel's theme song? One of the best. It's so true. Like that has you just has you bopping. To this day
when I hear
constantly just like grooving
no matter where I am.
It's a good song to work out to as well.
All right, so that we've got three.
What's the fourth spot going to be?
Carlito's apple, very good, spits it in their face.
You know if Carlita's holding an apple,
somebody's got an apple in the face.
Jeff Deere's guitar, Al Snow's head.
I think the great thing about Al Snow's head
was it wasn't just,
You immediately think of what does everybody want and you're like, oh, man, it's the 90s and they're like insinuating everybody wants head.
But it's also the fact, and this may be forgotten 25 plus years later, but Al Snow talked to Head like Head was a person.
And like he could hear what Head was saying to him and he would react to it.
It was like there was so many different parts of that that made it work.
but I think that Jeff Jarrett's guitar is a great option here.
And I was going through a Jeff Jarrett guitar shot compilation recently.
And he swung that thing.
It didn't matter who he was hitting with that guitar.
Whether it was a wrestler he was in a match with,
whether it was Beetlejuice from Howard Stern,
or whether it was a woman.
He swung with all his might.
Like he was Aaron Judge trying to hit a home run against the Blue Jays in game three.
Ah, my goodness, to tie it up.
ALDS, you know what I'm talking about here.
But Jeff Jarrett, like, went for it every time.
And there's a whole bunch of honorable mentions for other great wrestling props.
But I think for me, those are the ones that I think of.
Like, there was a ladder hanging in my garage.
Every time I walk by it, I think about it.
the Hardy points. I think about Jeff Hardy's ridiculous swan tons from various different heights.
I think about Jeff Hardy getting speared off of a ladder. Oh, amazing.
Kevin A. Brassard on Facebook. Who would be your favorite face painted and or mass wrestler?
As a kid in the early 2000s era,
Kane, Gold Dust, and Hurricane
quickly became some of my all-time favorites.
And those are all-timers right there.
I think I'm going to give you one of each.
I'm going to give you a face-painted wrestler,
and I'm going to give you a masked wrestler.
Face-painted wrestler is Sting.
I just think that the legacy that Sting has,
when you think about WCW,
you think about Sting,
Hall of Famer, absolutely.
What a career.
So Sting is my face-painted wrestler.
Mastreslor, it's Ray Mysterio.
And there have been a ton of great mass-wrestler
and a ton of great face-painted wrestlers.
But when I think of mass wrestlers,
and I'm not just talking about luchadors,
like there's obviously Hurricane is an option there.
Kane is an option.
So many different people when you think about massed wrestlers,
but Ray Mysterio is still doing it.
Ray Mysterio debuted in 1989, and he still hasn't lost a step.
It's Ray Mysterio for sure.
And like, the thing about Ray Mysterio is he's not just a wrestling icon.
He's a pop culture icon.
People know who Ray Mysterio is, even if they've never seen a wrestling match in their entire life.
So Ray Mysterio, yeah, greatest mass wrestler, greatest luchador.
You can't even argue that one.
Greatest luchador for sure.
But for me, also the greatest mass wrestler.
Yeah, Kane had some great moments.
Kane has one of the greatest wrestling debuts of all time, absolutely.
Hurricane.
And I guess Hurricane falls under both of these categories, doesn't it?
Because there was a point in time when he was face painted as the hurricane.
And then there was a point in time when he was wearing the mask as the hurricane.
Very few people can bring the humor that Shane Helms brought to that character.
and like this wasn't just like a one-off thing that he did that like worked for a few weeks.
Like there was some real longevity to that.
And nothing but respect.
But Ray Mysterio at the top of my list when we're talking about masked wrestlers.
KWMS.
29 on Instagram says,
Hey, CVV, why do wrestlers suddenly get tunnel vision when they hear somebody's music and forget about the match that they're in?
You guys know that I'm a big fan of logic in wrestling.
And I can't understand when certain moments are devoid of logic.
And that is one of them.
It's so, it's so funny to me that you can be in the middle of a match and you're paying
attention to absolutely everything that's going on and all the intricacies that take place
in a pro wrestling match.
And then someone's music hits and you just like suddenly get put into a trance of like,
oh, what are they doing here?
Oh, what's going on?
What is it?
Oh, no, they're rolling me up.
One, two, three.
And then that's the end of the match.
I'll never quite wrap my head around that.
And whenever I think about logic,
I always think about like,
how would you explain this to someone who is sitting next to you
watching wrestling for the very first time?
Because they're sitting next to you,
whether that's your brother or sister,
your mom or dad,
or whatever it happens to be.
Friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever it is.
They're going, wait, why did he stop paying attention to the match?
because some music hit. Well, so he's in a storyline with this other guy, so he got distracted
because their music hit. And then he was like wondering if that person was going to come out.
I know, I know. It doesn't make a lot of sense. It's an excellent question. I love all of these
examples of when logic just absolutely disappears from wrestling. It doesn't make any sense.
Doesn't make any sense. I'm with you. That's definitely, if I was making,
a, and we are not doing this,
if I was to make a Mount Rushmore
of illogical things
that happen in wrestling,
and again, we are not doing
a Mount Rushmore of a logical moment
because we'll have far more than just four,
but that would be near the top.
Just completely lose all
train of thought because music happens to be playing.
Even within wrestling,
the logic is difficult to explain.
But I digress.
Carrot. Dot,
on Instagram. Hey, Chris, who is the funniest guest you've ever had on a podcast? Lots of love
from England. I think we had one of the funniest guests recently. That episode with Dan Soder
was so good. It exceeded all expectations that I might have had. Like, I knew he was going to come on,
and I knew he was going to do a spot on macho man impression. But I didn't expect his knowledge
of wrestling as a whole to go as deep as it did.
Like he was like giving specific references about like random promos or random matches that
happened at like SummerSlam 1991.
It was a beautiful thing to be able to sit across from him and just listen to his amazing
stories and then right into impressions and then these great references to like,
there are all kinds of different things.
I was laughing the entire time.
So Dan Soder's one of them.
That feels obvious.
he's a comedian.
Will Sassau also feels obvious.
He's a comedic actor.
Will Sassau has been on the show a bunch of times.
He has me in stitches every time.
Like from the second he arrives to the second he leaves,
I'm just laughing and giggling the whole time.
And I know if we could bring the mega powers together.
Will Saso and Dan Soter together on an episode,
I feel like my face would just not
stop hurting from laughing.
I'm working on it.
There would be a dream episode, I think.
But outside of, we'll call them the obvious ones,
because comedians are just inherently funny,
hornswoggle is just so effortlessly funny.
And the cool thing about a hornswoggle episode
is one minute he'll have you just like in stitches laughing.
And then the next minute,
you'll be like, introspectively,
thinking about your own life.
And like he'll say something that's so profound.
And then a few minutes later, he'll make some joke and you're right back to laughing again.
Hornswoggle is welcome back on my show anytime.
And like we could even talk about anything but his career.
Like I feel like it'd be a fascinating conversation to just like chat about life for an hour
with him and just like see where the conversation goes.
Because you know it's going to be funny.
You know it's going to be heartfelt.
also j lethal he was on the show years ago was an interview we did via zoom when we were in the
middle of the pandemic i got to have j lethal on again in person it was such a fun conversation
it was so funny him retelling the story about the the flare promo and like how there was no
preparation for it like flare was just like ah don't go over my promos let's go out there and we'll
see out there kid what what
What a great story.
So hilarious.
If you're looking for a deep, deep dive episode to go check out this weekend, that's the one.
That episode is from July 8th, 2021.
So you've got to go quite a ways back to find that one, which is, again, another reminder
of why we've got to have Jay Lethal back on the show again sometime soon.
And that's our final question on this.
Ask CVV number one.
Oh, fatal four-way match.

I will leave you with this quote that is a powerful one I think about frequently.
What you do every day is far more important than what you do once in a while.
Be great and be grateful, my friend.
We will see you on the next one for some more insight.
We've got E.O. Sky.
Joining us on Tuesday, you don't want to miss it.
Jim Rome takes on sports.
Why?
Because I have a job to do with rapid fire takes.
So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs on this notion today.
no idea what you're talking about.
You're complaining more than you like to breathe air.
It's like you get up in the morning only to complain and cry and moan on social media
about things that you don't even understand.
He's the spitfire of sports smack.
Take advantage of it, but get up in here.
