All greetings and salutations, my friend.
Welcome back to another one here on Insight.
I'm CVV.
Chris Van Fleet.
Thank you for being such a real one.
And for hanging out with me on a Friday for an Ask CVV episode.
And thank you for making insight the number one wrestling podcast on the planet.
Hit an RKO on that follow button wherever you're listening right now.
And if it happens to be Spotify, could you?
at least consider leaving a rating on there.
And if you're using Apple, oh, man, a rating or a review would just be absolutely huge.
And the review doesn't have to be anything more than just like a few words or a few emojis or a catchphrase of some sort.
Really, anything will do.
I just landed in New York.
I'm recording this from my hotel room in Long Island right now.
I'm going to be appearing at the big event tomorrow and the lineup for this convention.
is stacked. Listen to this. Sting, Goldberg, A.J. Lee, Great Muda, Big Show, Rob Van Dam,
Killer Cross and Scarlet, Mercedes-Money, Nick Nemeth, and the list goes on and on and on. Big EventNy.com,
if you want to see all the details and the full lineup. So it's Big EventNY.com,
and I hope to see at least a few of you, real, real ones there tomorrow at Big Event.
Welcome to Ask CVV number 109th Wonder of the World China edition.
And there's really not that many nine references in wrestling.
So I only got one more for you.
And the Ask CVV number 109 time Intercontinental Champion, Chris Jericho edition.
If you've got an idea for next week, Ask CVV 110.
I don't get to say
1-0, whatever the number is.
We're under 110 next week.
If you've got an idea for that,
let me know.
Leave a comment on Spotify or shoot me an email,
CVV at chrisfanvely.com,
or leave it on social media using that hashtag,
AskCV.
That's also how you'll send in the questions
for next week.
We got a ton of questions.
What a week of wrestling this was.
So we'll kick it off with this one
from Justin Lopes,
on Instagram who says,
Hey, CVV, how did you feel about that crowd in Boston?
Also, Sina, finally, a Grand Slam champ.
Happy to see it live.
How did you feel about it?
Well, first of all, I'm jealous, Justin,
that you were there live for that.
What a crowd.
And wow, like, what a way to kick off Raw on Monday.
I thought that was so masterfully done.
Triple H setting the table for why John Sina is considered
the greatest of all time.
He's in Boston.
It's John Cena's hometown.
And we know that that term goat
is incredibly subjective.
Who I think is the greatest of all time
may be completely different from
who you think is the greatest of all time
is.
And like my criteria might be different from yours.
But Triple Age went through like every category
and made a pretty strong case for like
why you can objectively say,
John Sina is that guy.
Then Sina comes out.
hero's reaction in his hometown.
I love it.
He starts talking.
He's interrupted by Dominic Mysterio.
And man, they listen to the fans on this one.
Like, WWE listen to the fans because Dirty Dom versus John Sina was one of the biggest fantasy bookings
that people have been talking about since the farewell tour started in January.
There have been so many people going, if he's going to give an opportunity to an up-and-coming
wrestler. I got to see him in there with Dominic Mysterio. And that's exactly what we got.
And this was a star making performance for Dom. He proved that he could hang and he looked like he
belonged there. Like he didn't even so much as flinch during that promo, just chomping on his gum
the whole time while John Cena's talking just chomping on his gum there. Nuclear heat.
when he tells John Sina, speak when you're spoken to or I'll put you down.
Sina hits him with the fine speech.
It took all year for him to finally pull out fine speech.
And then I love how he just like puts Dom in his place reminds him of like who he is and where they are.
I'm John Sina and this is Boston, Massachusetts.
Tonight, I am invincible.
ball. And then Dom hits him with the, I'm not even at my peak yet and I'm better than you ever
were in your prime. So good. And I feel like we all knew what was coming. Right. Triple H remaining in
the ring, I think, was like a nice little hint of what was to come. Triple H makes that match.
It starts right here, right now. And I was a little nervous if I'm being completely honest with you,
because I thought that this was going to go either one of two ways. Either John Cena was going to win this
match, get that huge pop in Boston, or someone was going to run in, ruin the match.
The match gets thrown out, no contest, and then they would set up a story for John Cena versus
whoever at Survivor Series.
I am so glad we got the former and not the latter.
We got a great match with fun little things thrown in there, like the Eddie Guerrero chair's
spot and Sino winking.
We got Sina rolling out of the frog splash into.
the AA, the 1, 2, 3, Sina becomes the Intercontinental Champion.
Sina becomes a Grand Slam champion.
And I'm sure you've been listening to the show long enough.
So at some point, you heard me say, I didn't think this was going to happen.
I didn't think John Sina was ever going to win the Intercontinental Championship,
especially not on this farewell tour and especially not as we got to the back half of this farewell tour.
I mean, because if you look at this, he held the W.W.E.
championship for a handful of months there with things in the heel turn with him just kind of having
these one-off matches here and there it just didn't feel like the intercontinental championship
was going to line up and also if you think back and I feel like some of us have already forgotten
about this there was a big buildup to every story that john sina had in the first man i would call
like eight months of the john sina farewell tour like there was like deep storytelling of
like, all right, this person interrupted him or this person cut a promo.
So like, we're going to lead to that match with that person at a PLE.
I love what we've been getting on the back half here, not even the back half, the last few months,
where it's just like, me, you, let's do it.
Like we had that with the match with Sammy Zane.
We had the match with AJ Styles with no buildup on TV where it was just done on X.
And we got that incredible match.
I love what we're getting right now.
And it totally makes sense that John Sina could win the Intercontinental Championship with zero buildup to this.
And it just created such an amazing moment for the crowd there.
And also a really nice reminder that in this new era,
over the, called the last few years,
titles can change hands on a raw or a Smackdown.
And they do it like with some sort of regularity.
Like it doesn't just have to be a PLE.
And it's a nice reminder that like,
if you were thinking of watching Monday night football,
if you were thinking of not watching Raw,
anything can happen here.
And like,
that's,
that's kind of the,
the interesting thing that has changed over the last few years
because there was a long time there when it was very formulaic.
It was like titles,
especially major titles,
weren't going to change hands unless it was a PLE.
And I think that this was a nice reminder.
John Sina,
as we see,
see it here right now is the intercontinental champion.
And this Monday is John Cena's final match on Raw.
I'm sure, of course, he'll make sporadic appearances in the future, but never as a
wrestler again.
And I've seen the theories online about Sina extending his retirement tour.
Man, this thing needs to end at WrestleMania.
Yeah, that's not happening.
I've been wrong about a lot of things on the John Cena farewell tour.
I will not be wrong about this.
December 13th is it.
So we've got that final match.
Who's John Seating gonna face on December 13th?
So let's look at the tournament bracket that we have right now.
Rusev moves on.
He defeated Damien Priest.
Seamus moves on.
He defeated Shinska Nakamura.
We've got the Miz versus Jay Uso.
And also, just as an aside here,
how has the Miz not had a one-on-one match?
with Sena on his farewell tour.
Like, why does Ms.
have to compete in this tournament
to maybe possibly be John Cena's final opponent?
Like, if you look at the list of John Cena rivals,
you're kidding yourself if Ms. isn't in the top five
or top 10 of that list.
And Ms. has been reminding everybody,
if you follow Ms. on Instagram,
you know what I'm talking about.
He's been posting, like, all of the promos
were like, man, he cuts deep at John Sina.
Remember, it was Ms. versus John Sina.
as the main event of WrestleMania 27.
And then Ms. cut this incredible promo that he just reposted.
It was a raw in 2017 where he was talking about like how it was John Sina and Roman
Raines in the ring.
And he was basically like, you guys just keep getting given this stuff.
You guys just keep getting thrown in to these main event matches.
Whereas me who's the intercuttingal champion right now, I'm not getting anything.
And it's like, man, like I don't, Ms. is so good.
the mic and he's been this good for pretty much his whole career and i feel like people still
sleep on him for whatever reason ever reason but i would i would be shocked if miss doesn't advance
in this tournament so we got miss j us so right all right all right l a night i didn't say that right
did i l a night yeah thank you for doing that with me versus a mystery opponent jvonne evans
versus goonther which is going to be on raw next monday
Oh my gosh.
That's going to be incredible.
And then we got Solo Sacoa versus a surprise opponent.
So we've got two surprise opponents in there.
And then we've got two more matches, which haven't been announced yet.
So that's four more competitors that will be added to this.
And then we'll know all 16 entrants.
Although I just have this weird feeling in my gut that someone's going to be taken out of this tournament, like attacked backstage or whatever, which may leave room for a,
surprise entrant. Like maybe it's in the second round or the third round of the tournament where it's
like someone's making their way to the ring or they're about to make their way to the ring and
they're attacked backstage. And then we need this last minute replacement. That's really the only
way I can see like a huge surprise here. There's going to be surprises and we'll get to that in a
minute. But man, it's pretty crazy to think that John Sina has just three matches remaining.
they just announced in case you missed it that John Cena will be competing on Raw on Monday at Madison Square Garden.
That's huge.
Then we've got Survivor Series.
I'm still very curious what that ends up being.
And then we've got John Cena's final match, which, man, was one month from yesterday.
So we are now in the last month of John Cena as an active wrestler.
Wow.
J.S.7431 on Instagram says,
Hey, CVV, newly started listening to the pod
after seeing clips on your socials.
Who should be the next intercontinental champion?
First of all, thank you for not only watching the clips
on social media, but somehow that leading you to the podcast.
And that may be the case for a lot of people listening,
but thank you.
That's just, that's so cool to hear.
You're right.
who's going to be the next intercontinental champion.
As we sit here right now,
John Sina is the champion,
but we know that just by virtue of him retiring
in less than a month,
it's going to be a short run.
And this question,
I like it so much because it adds such a fun wrinkle
to the John Sina farewell tour
because I personally do not think
that John Sina is going to be
the Intercontinental champion
going into his final match.
I don't think that match is for a title at all.
I think it is simply John Sina in his last match, and that's all the hype we need for that.
We don't need a championship of any sort attached to it, which means with John Sina having
three appearances left, three matches left, we can assume.
They haven't said Survivor Series for sure as a match, but I think it's pretty fair to assume
that.
That means that John Sina, if we're following my theory here, either loses the title this Monday on
or he loses at Survivor Series in two weeks.
And that's interesting, right?
Because in my opinion, that means that John Cena's either going to lose his next match
or lose his second last match.
So what an opportunity there to put someone over, whoever that happens to be.
You know, you get to be the person who says, I took John Cena's last championship from him.
But who's that going to be?
I don't think it's a match with Dom.
I don't think that Dominic Mysterio gets a rematch in this one.
It would make sense.
I know that in storyline it makes sense,
but with such a short window here,
with John Cena's remaining time,
I don't think that happens.
I think it's going to be somebody
hasn't wrestled yet this year,
or maybe ever.
So I think that if we're being realistic here,
I think we can take everyone who's in the tournament,
I think they're out of contention.
I don't think that anybody of the names that have been listed and of the 16 people that will be in this tournament as a whole, I don't think that they're vying for the intercontinental championship.
I don't think they're going to be the one to take that championship from John Sina.
They instead have their eyes on the prize, which is being John Sina's final opponent.
So how about this?
What if, when we're talking about someone that hasn't wrestled John Sina yet this,
year. What if it was Ray Mysterio? Okay, and I feel like they dropped a hint on Raw about this,
because after Sina won the IAC title, he had that moment backstage with Ray, which is a throwback
to the moment that Ray had with Sina after he won the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw back in
2011. Fun fact, Sina ended up winning it from him like two hours later. Now that John Sita is
the intercona an old champion, W.W.E could recreate that moment.
a nice callback to 2011, but with the roles reversed,
Ray Mysterio could take that championship from John Cena.
And if that happens,
we're getting Ray Mysterio versus Dominic Mysterio already at Survivor series.
If that happens, the Intercontinental Championship could be on the line for that match.
That, to me, just surface level makes a lot of sense.
And I, like, I'm just, it's amazing that as we look at this right now,
now it's only three dates left. There's only three matches left. I feel like we've been
talking about the John Cena farewell tour. Like obviously we've been talking about it all year,
but like I didn't feel like it was coming to an end so quickly. Like when there were 27
dates left or there was 18 dates left, it's like, all right, we still got time. We still got time.
Yeah, we don't have so much time anymore. Yeah, it's, man, it's really closing in on us,
isn't it? And I am grateful to say that I will be at Sina's final two appearances. So if you're
going to be at Survivor Series in San Diego, I will see you there. Hopefully you've bought a ticket
to the live show that Friday night. I got a name yesterday of who from WWE, of who my guest
will likely be, but it's like 99% confirmed. So I will not say it yet, but I will say
that when I do, it'll be announced next week. When that is confirmed, you'll be like, oh, my gosh,
what a fun night that's going to be. What a great guest. I regret to inform you that tickets are
already sold out, though, all of the tickets, general admission and VIP. So you're going to hear
who the guest is and go, ah, I should have trusted CVV and I should have bought tickets. My goodness.
Good news is you can buy a ticket for the next live show that we've already announced, which is in Las Vegas,
WrestleMania week. And I think there might be a live show on the way in January, possibly February,
now that Elimination Chamber has been announced in Chicago. And then, of course, what I'm talking
about being at John Cena's final two appearances, I will also be at the Washington, D.C. Saturday
night's main event. We're not doing a live show there, but, man, I can't believe that we're all
going to be in the building or watching this live for John Cena's last.
match. But if I had to guess right now, just like things that make sense of who's going to take
the championship from John Sina, Ray Mysterio makes sense. There's a lot of other people in there that
could make sense too. I mean, I've pointed this out before. I don't know how this has never
been talked about in WWE. But Brom Breaker went into WrestleMania 41 as the Interconino champion.
he lost without ever getting pinned and then never got a rematch.
I know that doesn't really play into the John Cena storyline at all,
but I feel like that is important to just continue to point out how that doesn't make sense.
I don't know why he's not like super angry about like,
hey, I don't even get pinned and I lost my championship and where's my rematch?
But I think this Ray Mysterio thing could make sense.
I also love that we're getting these mystery John Cena opponent.
I don't mean in the tournament.
I'm excited about that.
But I love that John Sina is having like this impromptu match last week on Raw against Dom.
He's having an unannounced match this Monday.
We're not going to find out who the opponent is until we're watching Raw.
I just think that that's exciting.
And I love that this is how the John Sina retirement tour is ending.
For all of the missteps that we may have had, the heel run, the he'll turn I liked,
the hill run, some missteps there for sure.
For the missteps that we had,
for the match that we had at WrestleMania 41
between John Sina and Cody Rhodes,
they made up for that at SummerSlam,
but for all the things that may not have gone great,
these last few months of the John Sina retirement tour
have just been fun.

Chris.larkin.CL on Spotify says,
Hey, CVV, big fan of the podcast.
It's great to have something I can listen to in the car with the kids
and not have to worry too much about F bonds being dropped all over the place.
Thank you, Chris.
And also, I've never met a Chris that I don't like.
And I'll get to your question here in a second, but I love that this is a compliment that I get now weekly.
I get so many different messages from people saying,
thank you for having a family-friendly podcast I can listen to with my kids in the car.
And I don't listen to a ton of wrestling podcasts.
I listen to a lot of podcasts in general, but like, are,
So other podcasts feel the need to drop F-bombs all the time when talking about wrestling?
It feels like it's very possible to have a normal adult conversation about wrestling without dropping in an F-bomb every few minutes or a few seconds, depending on who the host is.
Back to your question here, Chris.
And thank you for the kind words.
With John Cena winning the I-C title on Monday and Seamus still in the tournament to be his final opponent,
Do you think they'd pull the trigger now on Seamus winning the title?
He has made it clear his desire to hold the I-C title before he retires.
And Chris, I'm so glad you brought up Seamus because he's been talking for years
about how he wants to become the first ever ultimate Grand Slam champion.
And by the way, Sina winning the Intercontinental Championship doesn't change the fact that
Seamus would become the first ever ultimate Grand Slam champion.
What is it, by the way?
Of course I'm going to tell you.
It's winning the WWE Championship,
World Heavyweight Championship,
universal championship,
or I guess like,
basically both,
those are the two main ones there,
the United States Championship,
and then like Intercontinental Championship,
as well as the Royal Rumble,
Money in the Bank,
and King of the Ring.
So Sina has done all of that,
except for the last one.
But CVV,
edge did all of those things.
isn't he the first ever ultimate Grand Slam champion? Technically, no. He won the WCW,
United States Championship. So technically, no, it doesn't follow the same lineage. So Seamus would
be the first one. And I think that Seamus will absolutely do this. He will absolutely become the
Intercontinental champion, but I don't think it happens by him beating Sina. Anybody that's in the
John Sina tournament, having this little set up,
side quest to take the Intercontinental Championship from John Sina defeats the whole purpose of being
in the tournament to have a match with John Sina. And I get it. I understand the idea that like having
John Sina's second or third last match is not the same thing as having Sina's last match.
But if Seamus is going to fight this Monday, let's say, for example, for the Intercontinental
Championship, which I would love to see, then where's the like, from two points of view?
K-Fabe point of view, like storyline point of view,
is he still wanting to push to make it happen to be John Sina's final opponent if he already
beat John Sina on Monday and won the Intercontinental Championship?
And you might say, well, yeah, of course he wants that, the honor of saying that he retired
John Sina.
Not only did he take his intercontinental championship, but he retired John Sina.
But can you imagine in the non-KFabe argument here now, the fans going,
so he wrestled Schamison his third last match?
and he's going to wrestle
Shamis in his last match.
Like if we're following the storyline
of like all of the people
in the tournament
have the ability
to possibly face John Cena
as their last match.
So I'm just saying
I don't think this is going to happen.
But I know there's a ton of history
with Seamus and John Cena.
Shamus won his first WWE
championship from Sina
in the tables match,
TLC 2009.
But Seamus just signed
a new five-year deal
pretty recently,
like a little over a year
ago. He's not going anywhere. He's going to get that intercontinental championship at some point.
I just personally think it should have already happened at WrestleMania 39. How incredible was that
triple threat match with Gunther and Drew McIntyre. That should have been it. And I understand that
Gunther winning that match, you know, went on to continue his historic run as Intercontinental Champion.
but I feel like there were two opportunities there to really to give that title to somebody else who I felt really deserved it.
Seamus being that one.
And then if Seamus wasn't going to win it there, like any opportunity in the run that he had with Chad Gable.
And like crazy, Chad Gable still never won a singles championship in WWE.
I know Al Gras de Americano, the shorter stockier jacked version, won the speed championship.
We're talking about Chad Gable and we're talking about main roster.
championships. I feel like there was an opportunity there. But yes, I think rest assured,
Seamus will be a Grand Slam champion and an ultimate Grand Slam champion. That's going to happen.
I just don't see it happening here. I don't think he's the person to take it away from John Sina.
A. Pritch on Instagram says, hi, Chris, I'm wondering if you could answer my question for Ask CVV number
109. Yes, I will. My question is, after finding out L.A. Knight, yeah, as a mystery opponent on
Smackdown next Friday, who do you think it could be? Well, we now have two mystery opponents
in the John Suna tournament. L.A. Knight. Yeah, I always pause, because I know you're saying,
yeah, he has the mystery opponent tonight on Smackdown, and then we know Solo Sacoa has
a mystery opponent on Raw this Monday from MSG with John Cena in the building, by the way.
I think what WWE is basically saying here without officially saying it is that L.A. Knight,
yeah, and Solo Sacoa are not going to win these matches.
I feel like the expectations are high for the surprises in the John Sina tournament here.
And I think that the way Nick Aldous looked at the piece of paper last week and didn't want to say the name is an indication.
Because if he said his name, he would appear.
Yes.
You saw the news yesterday.
If it is official, I mean, this hasn't been reported by WWE, but it's been reported everywhere else.
Joe Henry is now officially a WWE superstar.
He has signed with WWE.
I've been saying this all along, but I think now the writing's on the wall.
I think Joe Hendry is going to be in this, and this feels like the perfect opportunity
to insert him in.
And again, Nick Aldous looking at that and going, I'm going to keep this to myself,
him not saying the name.
Yeah.
I think that's all we need to know there.
And go back.
If you haven't listened to it or you haven't listened to it in a while or can't remember it,
Joe Hendry talked a lot about like the influence of John Sina on his career during the interview that we had this past summer.
It's a great interview.
I think that just Joe Hendry's mindset is incredible.
And he talks about like, look, my run's been pretty good.
I've had some pretty great luck here.
Entering the Royal Rumble as a TNA champion.
Entering, going into a match at WrestleMania when Randy Orton had a mystery opponent,
as the TNA champion.
Like, he's had a lot of things go right here.
I feel like this is another opportunity for that to happen.
And it would be a great surprise.
It would be a huge pop.
And the surprise appearances that Joe Hendry's had
have been some of the most viewed videos on X over the last year.
I feel like this would be an opportunity
to do something like that again.
So if Joe Hendry is one of them,
and right now there are six unknown people,
two mystery opponents and then two matches with four people that we don't know anything about yet.
Who else is realistic?
Who else would fall into that category of someone who doesn't work here, like John Cena said?
Because we've already seen the stars from Raw.
They've been announced.
Stars from Smackdown have been announced.
Javon Evans.
Oh my gosh, that match with Gunther is going to be bananas.
It's an NXT star that's been announced.
Who are some of the people that fall into that other category?
Matt Cardona.
There's a lot of history there.
That one could make a lot of sense.
Remember the love triangle that they were in?
Yeah, remember that?
Matt Cardona, he was Zach Ryder at the time,
was dating Eve Torres.
John Cena comes in, steals his girlfriend right in front of
Zach Ryder who's in the wheelchair.
Like, there's some history with that.
And what Matt Cardona has done in the Indies is incredible.
he's completely reinvented himself.
His wife works there.
WW knows who he is.
They know all about him.
He was there for, what, 14 years in WWE?
That one makes a lot of sense.
And I'm just shocked.
I mean, I know he's done some stuff in NXT,
but I'm shocked that WWE hasn't resigned Matt Cardona.
Maybe this is the opportunity.
Who else would make sense?
Maybe it doesn't have to be in the category of people that don't work here,
but Carmello Hayes would make sense.
Man, that'd be incredible.
And he deserves it, too.
Maybe one of the surprises is a returning Chad Gable.
If he's healed up and cleared by then.
I mean, he did post a video this week in the gym,
looking as jacked as ever,
and it seems like it was a shoulder injury that he had,
a shoulder surgery he had.
He was doing peck flies and everything seemed to be working fine.
I don't know.
Is Chad Gable cleared?
could Chad Gable be part of this?
But you know who's one name
that no one is talking about
and I really think they should?
Austin Theory.
Why is no one talking
about Austin Theory
being part of this?
Lots of history there with John Cena.
He beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39.
And we haven't seen Austin Theory
since his last match,
which was the July 14th taping
of main event.
he lost a match to El Grande Americano.
And when you really think about it, when you really look into this, Austin Theory has been pretty much radio silent since July.
His last post on Instagram was just a week after that match, July 21st.
So like, there's been nothing from Austin Theory.
According to reports, he's injured.
But I'm just, I'm shocked that being one of John Cinas,
previous
WrestleMania opponents
and like one of
his last
WrestleMania opponents
second
yeah it was
John Cena's
second last
WrestleMania
opponent
WrestleMania 41
he obviously
had the match
with Cody Rhodes
didn't wrestle at
WrestleMania 40
but appeared in the
Cody Rhodes
Roman Reigns main event
and then the year
before
he had that opening
match with John Cena
and beat him
I'm just shocked
no one's talking
about Austin Theory
that one feels
like it could make
a lot of sense
And then, like, for the big names last week on Ask CVVI address the two massive names who are floating out there, both of those being Edge and Chris Jericho.
So first and most importantly here, we don't know when their contracts are up.
And again, whether this is intentional or not, both of them not being on AEW TV right now is such a smart move.
Because you can't talk about either Chris Jericho or Edge slash Adam Copeland.
without also talking about A.A.W. in the same sentence.
But I just, I'm not going to reiterate everything I said last week,
but I just can't see either of them returning to then have to wrestle four matches
for the right to face Sina in his final match.
Because that's what this is going to be.
Like, if you look at the brackets, it's the opening round, the quarterfinals,
the semifinals, and then the finals, and then you wrestle John Sina.
So, like, I just can't see a huge return.
like Chris Jericho or Edge,
if of course their contracts are up
and they're able to do it.
I just can't see one of them coming in
to wrestle somebody in an opening match,
opening round match,
then a quarter final match,
then a semi-final match,
and then the finals,
to then tell the story
of being John Cena's final opponent.
And maybe that's where my hunch comes in
that someone could get taken out backstage
and a replacement needs to come in.
But I just don't think like,
sure, you get a,
cool pop on a raw or a Smackdown or like I said, I think one of these mystery people will be coming
out during a John Cena tournament match on Survivor Series. I think there'll be at least one
John Cena tournament match on Survivor Series. But to have them come out for that pop and then
have to wrestle three more matches, I just, it doesn't add up to me. I'd love to be wrong,
but that one just doesn't add up to me.
Jose Maseus, J.D. underscore Maseousis on Instagram says, on CVV-108, you quoted the John Cena tournament
promo video, and he said, seize the opportunity. You said it in a way that reminded me of how
Edgewoods have said that. So I did the research. And in the 2011 article titled, Ultimate Opportunist
Pursues New Challenges to talk about retirement. And the last line of the article is, quote, whatever
comes next in his life, Edge is sure to seize the opportunity. I'm more convinced that he will
not be named the final opponent, but one of the opponents, and he enters himself into the match
and makes it a triple threat. Oh, that's an interesting thing. And you link to the article here.
What an astute observation. So if I'm looking at this article here, there it is. Wow. This is crazy
that it's July 12th, 2011, a very low-quality photo of Edge.
I didn't think the internet was that bad 14 years ago.
This is such a, what was this photo taken with a potato?
But you're right.
The very last line of this article is whatever comes next in his life,
Edge is sure to seize the opportunity.
And in that video package where John Cena was talking about his final opponent,
he was like, I'm paraphrasing here, but he's basically saying he's looking
for someone to seize the opportunity like he did in his first match.
And it just, you're right.
You might be on to something here.
I mean, Edge was the ultimate opportunist.
But at the same time, this seems like maybe it's just a coincidence.
Seize the opportunity is a fairly common phrase.
But I also know in WWE, there are not a lot of coincidences.
There are coincidences.
There are not a lot of coincidences.
So I don't know.
Just wanted to throw that out there.
Jose, thank you for bringing that to all of our attention.
Matthew Evans emailed this one in.
Question for Ask CVV number 10619 edition.
Well, yeah, I see there's a nine in there.
I get it.
Episode 106 was the 10619, 619 edition.
Hey, CVV, real, real one here from Mid Wales in the UK.
You've spoken a few times recently.
about not liking the War Games match
being a Survivor Series
and equating it to when
Helen Assel was its own pay-per-view.
I completely agree with you,
but I always enjoy playing devil's advocate.
And I got to thinking,
can't the same thing be said about
the Survivor Series match itself?
It's a stipulation with little to no stakes
that only happens because it's that time of year.
I appreciate us older fans
can credit nostalgia,
but surely newer fans would struggle to justify
the match type.
Thanks for your heartwork and passion.
One of the shining beacons in the wrestling industry.
Best regards, Matt.
You, sir, are absolutely right.
Because, yes, the same thing can be said about Survivor Series.
What does the winning team get?
I'll tell you exactly what the winning team gets.
Nothing.
I mean, bragging rights.
Bragging rights that, like, doesn't even get talked about in the weeks to come.
Like, I feel like Survivor Series is so.
finite. We took these five baby faces and these five heels, and those 10 people will have a
match against each other. And then the men will do it and the women will do it. And then after
this weekend, we probably won't even reference this again. There may be some storylines that
come from the individuals within this match, but the match as a whole really doesn't lead to anything.
So I'm with you. And if you missed what we're talking about here, I was saying like I was never a
fan of the Hell and a S.L.
Paper view because I felt like
hell and a cell needed to like,
they needed to have more to it.
Instead of just having a match because it's that
time of year. It's Hell Ns L season.
Let's have a Hell on a Sell match.
I feel the same way about Survivor Series.
Because when you think about some of these other big matches,
there's a stipulation. There's something big
on the line.
Royal Rumble. Of course. You know that one.
Title shot at WrestleMania.
Money in the bank.
gives you the opportunity to cash in at any point over the next year.
King and Queen of the Ring now even have this big stipulation.
The winner of King and Queen of the Ring got a title match at SummerSlam.
Survivor Series is one of the big four, and I liked the idea before of how Survivor Series
used to work.
There was a sole survivor in the ring.
There was a little bit of like, I guess you were able to, before it was the War Games match,
you were able to say, like, wow, that person outlasted everybody else.
they're the toughest or like, man, they've got some real grit.
And you could start to maybe build a storyline from that if it was done the right way.
But like there's really no real stipulation here.
I don't know what that should be.
And it's tough in a match with 10 individuals in it.
But I'm with you.
And I'm not saying I, by any means, am I saying I dislike Survivor Series or I dislike
war games?
I'm just saying, give me a reason storyline-wise.
to really need to sink my teeth into this,
rather than just going,
these five people versus these five people.
Faith over Fear underscore 78 on Instagram.
What are your WrestleMania predictions for next year?
Man, it is so early.
It is way too early to be doing WrestleMania predictions.
But let's do it anyway.
As of next week, we're going to be
officially five months away from WrestleMania 42.
So let's look ahead at what some matches could be.
Some matches that could maybe possibly make sense by April of 2026.
I would love to see if he's still the World Heavyweight Champion,
I'd love to see CM Punk versus Brom Breaker.
I think the Brombreaker does win the World Heavyweight Championship at some point
in 2026, does he win it from
CM Punk? Does he win it at
WrestleMania? I don't know. We don't even know
if CM Punk's going to be the champion still.
That would be a six-month title reign
by that point in time. Seems very
plausible right now.
But also, the World Heavyweight Championship
has been changing hands with
somewhat of
some regularity.
So maybe
he's the champion still.
I could see CM Punk versus Bronbreaker.
How about Ria Ripley?
versus E.O. Sky.
Man, how good was their triple threat match last year with Bianca Baller in there?
But Ria versus EO would be amazing.
I think that that's a match I'd love to see at WrestleMania.
And maybe there's a championship on the line for that as well.
I think that a match we've already talked about today,
Dominic Mysterio versus Ray Mysterio.
That could be a title versus career.
career match, or maybe it's something like that. I don't think Ray Mysterio has that much longer.
I'm not saying he's showing any signs of slowing down and just, it just feels to me like he's
certainly, I mean, obviously has a lot less matches in front of him than he has behind him.
Dominic Mysterio versus Ray Mysterio for to end Ray Mysterio's career, Ray Mysterio's retirement match,
whether he knows it or not, whether it's previously a,
announced or not, that's a match that's going to take place at WrestleMania some year,
whether that is WrestleMania 42, 43, 44, whatever the case may be.
That's a WrestleMania match, if you ask me.
Could we see Jade Cargill versus Bianca Bel Air?
Jade hasn't competed, or I should say Bianca hasn't competed since that banger of a triple threat
match at WrestleMania 41 when she does.
come back. Jade is the perfect target, especially now that Jade is a heel, Bianca,
mega baby face. I love that. Maybe Jade is still the champion by then too. How about Chad Gable
versus El Grande Americano? And if the reports and the rumors online are true, if there's any
truth to the fact that Ludwig Kaiser may be the man under that mask, you got to get to
give them all kinds of credit for taking this gimmick that was meant for somebody else and running
with it and in my opinion making it better than the original was. I think that you could have a very
nice story for many months that would lead up to a WrestleMania match between Chad Gable
and El Grande Americano that could be all kinds of fun. And also just from those two workers,
one hell of a match as well.
And then what would the WWE championship match be?
I think we could see Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton.
I mean, they've been teasing this for what feels like forever.
But here's the thing about this.
If we get Randy Orton versus Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania,
it's interesting that I don't know which one of them would be the champion going into
WrestleMania.
Like, it's possible.
it's possible that Randy could be the champion by then.
I don't know if Cody Rhodes is going to continue to hold the championship all the way up until April 17th for WrestleMania.
Well, I guess maybe the match isn't on night one.
Sorry, April 18th would be night one.
April 19th, night two.
Is Cody Rhodes still the champion by then?
I don't know.
But if he's not, it just.
seems to me like Randy Orton would be. So I feel like as it sits right now, there's a ton of time
here, five months for things to change and move. But as we sit here right now, it feels like
Randy Orton could be the champion. And we're going to get Randy versus Cody, I feel like,
at WrestleMania, but who's the champion there? And it's also interesting to point out that like,
when we saw this on WWE Unreal, WWE already has their eye.
idea of what their matches are.
They've already got the whiteboard written out of what they think their matches are
going to be for WrestleMania.
And they're building and tweaking storylines that end with that.
Like, that's the end goal in mind.
Obviously, tons of things change.
Injuries happen.
We've seen that many times.
Injuries happen.
Some people pick up steam and then they ride with that momentum.
Some people lose steam and they go,
maybe that match isn't going to work out for you.
But I think these are a handful of matches here that I think could make a lot of sense
under the current landscape that we have with the storylines.
It actually be nice to kind of like, let's put a bookmark in this right here,
this part of the conversation.
And let's come back to ask CVV number 109 in five months and see how many of these we got right or wrong.
Did I say Brock Lesnar versus Gunther?
No, I didn't.
Brock Lezor versus Gunther is a match that WWE tried to do two years ago.
I think that that's finally the match that we get.
And if it's not Brock Lezzer versus Gunther, maybe it's Brock versus Braun Breaker.
Feels like another match that we could see.
But let's put a pin in this.
And we'll come back to it in five months and see how many of these we got wrong.
All right.
I don't know why I led with wrong on that one.
Let's see how many we got wrong.
That'll be fun.
Let's see how many we got right.

Greetings from Geelong, Australia.
I hope I'm saying that right.
Listening to last week's episode, I was so disappointed to hear there was not a question with the Gunther, Would You Rather?
Oh, boy.
So, would you rather randomly, once a month, as you get out of the shower, Gunther appears and chops your behind.
I can't believe that this bed is continuing.
Or, never eat pizza again.
No pizza, no bread product with red sauce and cheese on it. No pizza, period. Good luck. Matt.
Matt, what are you doing to me, buddy? No pizza? Ever again? Like, you got to understand.
Like, I, I love pizza. If you haven't already figured that out, if you're new here, let me just let you know.
I love pizza.
I found a new pizza place around me.
I was saying how good brewery X was last week in Orange County, California.
I found a new pizza place that I think might be better.
It's called Wowie Zowie pizza,
which of course I was already drawn to it because it sounds an awful lot like
Yowie Wowie Waii.
Ray Wyatt's catchphrase.
This is Wowy Zowie pizza.
It's so good you have to like order it.
online in the morning with a pickup time later on in the day because they sell out.
Unbelievable.
So with all of that said, and my random tangent talking about how great Waui Zawi pizza is and just pizza in general.
Never eat pizza again or get assaulted by Gunther.
Is this just one chop?
Because it's just one chop.
As I'm coming out of the shower, I'm coming out of the shower, like, it's wet.
Oh, that's weird, though, that like I'm show.
And this is, man, this chop's happening.
Although it's only 12 times a year, right?
So like the other 29 days are fine,
but like probably 20 of those days,
I've got a hamprint on my butt.
All right.
No pizza.
Just, you know, if this is happening
for the rest of my life,
I feel like I'd be fine taking a chop on my butt.
Now, chop on my big old rear end now.
But like if this is going to happen for the rest of my life,
like, what's it going to be like when, you know,
I'm 94 years old and this is still happening once a month,
completely like, I don't think,
I don't think it would be a date on my calendar either.
I believe that the, like, this is randomly, right?
It's randomly once a month.
What, so, oh, man, I don't think it'd be like the 15th of every month.
All right, well, it's November 15th.
Ah, you know, Gunther will be here soon and, uh, got to,
got to take this chop and then go about my business.
I think it would be just like once a month.
So in like any given day on that calendar month,
it could happen.
It'd be also difficult to explain to my kids,
especially the first few times.
Who's this large man?
He seems very nice, but why is he attacking daddy?
All right, Matt.
You win.
No pizza.
Blaine Vandergrind.
Let me try that again. Blaine van der Grend. I believe that's how you say it on Facebook.
What was the most unexpected response you got to one of your questions?
It's a great question, Blaine. And I think it was when Mark Henry was on the show last year.
I was so taken back by his response. We were talking about the Mark Henry spot.
So that's the spot where he catches the guy, rolls backward while still holding on to them.
and then slams him. He was telling me the story of how it happened by accident a match with
Ray Mysterio. And then like, it's now become something that like big guys like Brock Lesnar,
John Cena do often. And then Mark's telling this and he pauses and he gets real emotional.
Tears start coming down his faces. He's talking about it because it meant so much to him
that he created something in wrestling that has outlived his career.
And he was saying like how rare it is to have anything new in wrestling.
Everything's been done before.
So to have something that he created outlast him and become part of his legacy,
it just really got to him.
And I was just really surprised by that answer of like,
I don't know.
The little things are not so little.
And like a move that you see in a match like that,
that's obviously an incredibly impressive move,
but like I wouldn't think that something like that
would have such a profound impact on his career as a whole
and obviously on him just personally.
So that was it, that was a big one.
And then there was another one earlier this year
when Snitsky was on the show.
He got emotional.
talking about being from a small town in Pennsylvania and making a name for himself,
especially when so many people from his small town never leave that town.
And like he paused for a long time with tears streaming down his face.
And I think what was so great about both of those moments was to see two massive guys like
Mark Henry, world's strongest man.
and another massive guy in Gene Snitsky, he's huge and it feels like he's going to break your
hand when he shakes it.
To see two guys like that open up with their feelings and not be afraid to show their emotions,
that's what being a man really is.
And there've been a lot of moments over the last two or three years where the guests in
the show of gotten really vulnerable.
I recently happened with Grayson Waller.
He was just like his passion for wrestling and his love for wrestling.
Like,
I think it hit him in that moment,
made him realize just like how lucky he has to be in the spot that he is.
And like how grateful he is to be able to do it.
It brought tears to his eyes.
And it's been really cool seeing those real human emotions,
and those real emotions from both men and women on the show.
If you haven't listened to the interview with Mickey James,
like she got real deep into talking about some stuff she's never talked about before.
And it was really,
that was amazing just being able to sit there and be the audience of one
to hear that story, any of these stories that I'm sharing.
But I think that that's definitely the most.
most unexpected type of response of like where you can tell that something means so much to someone
that it brings tears to their eyes. I think that that's definitely the most unexpected for sure.
Adam Mansfield on Spotify, CVV, you have my dream job. I'm an aspiring content creator myself and I'm just
so jealous of what you get to do. You look like you're having a blast, but tell me, what was
the worst job you ever had before doing what you're doing right now. Adam, I like that you said
that I get to do this. I think about that all the time. Like, I am so, so grateful that I get to do this.
I get to talk to our favorite wrestlers. I get to sit in a room with them and share an hour or so.
Like, it is certainly not lost in me, how cool that is. I've had a lot of jobs before working in
television and radio, I had a lot of jobs. Some good, some not so much. My first job, other than
delivering newspapers, I delivered the Ajax Pickering News advertiser. I also delivered
the Pickering Bay Ridge's, was the Bay News. I also delivered Sears catalogs. They were very heavy.
But my first, like, call it real job, I worked at the mall. I worked at the Pickering Town Center,
and I worked in a pet store. I worked at Peechering Town Center. I worked at Pee's
DJ's pet center in the fish department, which is perfect because I loved keeping fish.
I always had aquariums growing up. And obviously, I'd love fishing. So, like, there was just a real
merger there of, like, things that I loved. And it was a really cool job to have at 16 years old.
And now I have a very in-depth knowledge of aquarium fish. Like, if you're into African
cyclids or if you're breeding mollies or platties or guppies or i know i've gone way down deep down
the rabbit hole for a lot of you and you have no idea what i'm talking about but if you're into aquarium
stuff and you ever see me out and about i would love to chat about yellow labs and peacocks with you
these are african cyclids or like uh i had some i had lots of catfish i would also like
I would also catch fish.
Like I would catch little rock bass
or little large mouth
and keep them in my aquarium.
Some were easier to keep than others.
Like large mouth were relatively easy to keep
because they're like a bit of a warmer water fish.
Smallmouth bass were really tough to keep
because like they seem to do better in cooler water.
I tried to keep a little baby rainbow trout.
That didn't go so well either
because they're also predominantly a colder water fish
and like room temperature water being like 70-ish degrees
Fahrenheit, a little too warm for them. Anyway, I've talked way too much about aquarium fish here,
but that job was awesome. I also worked at a store called Sport Check, a sporting goods store in
Conestoga Mall, was one of my college jobs. I was my summer job while I was in college,
I worked in Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I did that for two summers. That was fun, but it was also like
It was long hours and it was a lot of like, it's a lot of work.
And I have a huge respect for anybody that works in the rental car business.
I was also a server for a summer at the Fern Resort in Aurelia, Ontario.
And that was also a ton of very hard work.
And it was, I was working at a resort.
So you're serving the same tables for the entire week that these people are on vacation.
So you're serving them breakfast and lunch and dinner.
for an entire week, which is cool because you get to know the families really well.
It's not cool because you're also, you're working the full day.
It's breakfast and lunch, a little bit of a break, then dinner.
So I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for anyone that works in the service
industry.
But that summer of being a server, like took it to an 11 out of 10 of like, oh, yeah.
It's sometimes it's awesome and sometimes it's not.
And then, of course, worked in radio.
My first job ever was 570 News.
I worked as a board operator in Kitchener, Ontario.
So, like, you're working the big sound board, like the levels and the buttons and all
of that stuff, like making sure things sound good.
A lot of that was for, like, local talk shows and, like, the local news.
But a lot of it was also, like, you were playing the local commercials for, like, the national
feed of, like, a football game.
Or, like, I was the board operator for the national feed of the Super Bowl.
that particular year.
Was an internet Checks TV in Peterborough, Ontario.
That job ended up leading to my first on-air job at Checks TV.
There's lots of different broadcasting jobs,
but the worst job I ever had was, oh man, it's such a bad job.
I was like essentially a door-to-door vacuum salesman for like three days.
I responded to a classified ad,
which was offering a much higher hourly wage than any other job.
I think it was promising like $18 an hour when like the minimum wage of the time was like seven.
I was like, this sounds amazing.
It also sounds too good to be true.
And I went in and it was like you were selling this like super high end vacuum.
And the vacuum itself was awesome.
It was a very good vacuum, probably the best vacuum I've ever seen.
But it was like $2,000.
And the whole thing was like they had like warmish sales leads, people that had like,
I don't know, filled out maybe like a survey or like put their name into like something.
I don't know.
It was a warmish lead.
And it was basically like you had to do a 45 minute to an hour long presentation in these people's houses.
like vacuuming up stuff on their carpet.
It's so embarrassing to like even be talking about this.
And I,
I did not like this at all.
And it was like,
oh,
it was so uncomfortable because you would do this pitch.
And then you're like going through the entire pitch and like,
they're obviously shooting it down because this vacuum's way too expensive.
And then you like call the boss and you're like going through this like sales script on the phone of like,
oh yeah,
you'll never believe it.
Mrs. Johnson said no. Oh, what's that? Oh, no way. Oh, you can do that? Oh, wow. Let me,
let me tell Mrs. Johnson. She'll be so excited to hear this. Wow, Mrs. Johnson, I just talked to my boss,
and he says, we can knock the price down by $500. Oh, you're still not interested. Okay.
And then you'd have, like, it was just, I did not enjoy that. I've never enjoyed any form of sales.
It's just not been a strength for me. And kudos to people who,
who are great at it because I'm not.
And I remember on, I think I went for like two days of like training, like intensive training.
You're learning all the features and you're learning like the best way to like sell this thing and deal with the,
the rejections and try to like, uh, sorry, objections and try to figure out like the best way around that.
And then it was like, I think I did a day and a half of like actually going to these people's houses.
And the way it was set up was like, you had a call it like a house call it like 11 and call it like 1 and then call it like three.
Like you're supposed to be in their house for about an hour or so.
And then you had time to travel to the next person's house.
And then you had to like call the boss to like try to close the sale.
And I was just like, this was not for me.
And it was so clear this was not for me.
And then by the time I got to the last call, I was.
I was like, I don't, I went through like the pitch.
The person was clearly not interested.
And I was like, I don't want to do the whole like call the boss.
Oh my gosh, they don't want this thing.
Like I just knew that this was not a sale I was going to make.
So I just went to my car.
I like sat there for the next like 15 minutes.
I'm like, I've got to call the boss soon because he's going to be expecting this,
this call to try to close this deal.
and I called him and I pretended that I was still
pretended I was still like in that person's house
but I was calling for my cell phone.
And that was another big thing.
They wanted you to call from the like house phone.
So that like there was another way of like number one like call display obviously like
they can tell that you're in that person's house and like you're right in front
of them selling this.
And number two was another way of like oh well like you're kind of like anchoring yourself
to their house by like using their landline.
needless to say i called for my car and i went through the whole like pitch of like oh yeah no they don't
want it oh no let me try no nope sorry yeah unfortunately they said it's not going to work and he goes
oh uh chris could you do me a favor um yeah could could you put mr smith on the phone right now
and i was like um oh um and i just hung up and i'm 18 years old at the time and i'm like oh my gosh i got
like go back into the office give them their vacuum back and like obviously tell them i'm done and i went
back in and he's like yeah yeah i could uh i could tell when your caller id came up that you weren't at
their house um so yeah i think needless to say you know this didn't work out and i said yeah yeah
this didn't work out uh and it's funny that was like over 20 years ago and i still like i still
feel as I'm telling this story. It was just not for me. So it's thinking about jobs like that.
It's thinking about some of the difficult days I had working in retail or thinking about some of the
times when I got orders wrong as a server or times when I got the orders right and was still told
that the order was wrong as a server. It's times like that that I appreciate even more on what I get to do now.
And like, yeah, I think it's, it's that whole idea of like the sweet doesn't taste so sweet without the sour.
And also, if PJ's Pet Center in the Pickering Town Center still existed, I would love to work there.
That was probably my favorite job pre-broadcasting.
It really was.
That, my friends, was the final question and final story, I guess,
