Starting point is 00:00:00 Chris. How are you, my friend? Welcome back to another one here on InSight. I'm CVV, Chris Van Fleet. Hope you've had a great week. Thank you for being a real one and for hanging out with me on a Friday for an Ask CVV episode. And as always, thank you for making Insight the number one wrestling podcast on the planet.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Superman punch that follow button on Spotify or Apple. And also, if you're not subscribed on YouTube, Superman Punch that subscribe button on YouTube as well. Only like 60% of people listening right now actually follow the show. So just check. Maybe you think you're following the show because it always pops up in your feed, but just check because it would be so helpful if you could follow the show. So I will thank you in advance for that.
Starting point is 00:01:11 I'm in San Diego right now as you're listening to this. Survivor Series war games this weekend at Petco Park. I can't wait for that, and I can't wait to see you guys tonight at Insight Live, I should say, the sold out Insight Live with special guests, the first and fourth, WWE, Women's United States Champion, Chelsea Green. You know how entertaining she is on TV. Maybe you've seen one of our interviews that we've done in the past. This show is going to be unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:01:45 And again, thank you for selling out the show before we even, announced who the guest was. You guys are the absolute best for that. I love it. We have at least one other interview that hopefully, I shouldn't say we're good again. Hopefully everything works out and the timing works out. So you'll see the Chelsea interview for sure. I think that allows she air. I think that's going to air next Thursday. And then hopefully the other one you'll see in the next week or two, but fingers crossed that everything comes together on that one. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. If you're listening to this in the United States,
Starting point is 00:02:23 I had a great time with the family, and Thanksgiving's just one of my favorite holidays. Obviously, it's a little different growing up in Canada with Canadian Thanksgiving in October. American Thanksgiving, and then just a few weeks later, is Christmas. It's always, it's just, it's like, it just kind of kick starts the holiday season,
Starting point is 00:02:45 and there's something that's so fun about that. And in case you're wanting, wondering, yeah, we've had the Christmas tree up for like three weeks already. Honestly, Big Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton that was in our yard for Halloween, he came down on November 1st, and I think it was like just a few days later, we're like, yeah, should we put the Christmas tree up? Yeah, let's put the Christmas tree up. Why not?
Starting point is 00:03:10 So the Christmas tree has been up for a while. And I know there's kind of the unwritten rule that the Christmas tree can't go up until after Thanksgiving. And if that is a rule in your house, that's fine. That's totally great. Don't yuck someone else's yums. But for us, we were like, man, Thanksgiving's on November 27th. That's less than a month until Christmas. We got to have the tree up for at least a month leading up to Christmas, or at least that's the way that we felt about it. So all of that said, we had a great Thanksgiving. I hope that you did as well. Welcome, my friends, to Ask CVV number one, one, one, all the ones here. We the ones. It's the OTC edition. Also, welcome to Ask CVV number one 11 time World Champion Edge Edition.
Starting point is 00:04:11 And this one's a bit of a stretch, but we're going to go with it. I like to play a play on words here. Welcome to Ask CVV number one. 11 in your house edition. And I think that we're going to have to be stretching some of these as we continue to get into some numbers that maybe don't play into wrestling references. But if you have an idea for next week, Ask CVV number 112, let me know if you've got a question as well, let me know. Send it in on Spotify. If you're listening, drop a comment on there, email me, CVV at chrisfanfley.com, or send it in social media using that hashtag, Ask CVV. We'll kick this off with this one from Craig Hodge on Spotify.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Hey, CVV, I can't wait to meet you at your live show on Friday in San Diego. I need to hear your Survivor Series predictions. Craig, I can't wait to meet you there as well tonight. And I'm pumped for Survivor Series. So four matches in total, just four matches, which means I think that both the men's and the women's war games matches were going to like really allow those to breathe. Feels to me like how the Royal Rumble is where you know that those matches have some time to like really get into it. Nothing ever feels rushed. Hit those spots, get through them, tell a great story. And I'm excited for it. So we'll start with the non-war games matches first. Let's actually start with.
Starting point is 00:05:43 John Sina versus Dominic Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. John Sina's second last match ever. Wow, and it's in Dominic's hometown of San Diego. This has been pointed out many times before, but I guess it bears repeating here. John Sina will have worked three of his last four matches in his entire career against Dominic Mysterio in some former fashion, whether it's a one-on-one match when he won the Intercontinental Championship, the six-man match that we saw, and then here's another one-on-one match with John Sina now defending the Intercontinental Championship. I don't see any other scenario other than Dominic
Starting point is 00:06:26 Mysterio winning back the Intercontinental Championship from John Sina. And I think it's just another chance here for John Sina to put over young talent on his way out. It's John Sina's second last match. And it's very clear with the way that Dominic Mysterio has been booked over the last year or two, that they clearly see that he is one of the future stars of WWA. I mean, he's a massive star right now, but they realize that as some of the stars now retire and they're not going to be in the picture anymore, it's going to be people like Dominic Mysterio carrying this forward. And I think that this is going to be a wonderful feather in Dominic Mysterio's cap, especially as a heel, to be able to say, I won John Cena's last championship from him in his second last match. And I think Dominic
Starting point is 00:07:17 Mysterio's actually already been doing interviews now, saying, yeah, three of John Cena's last four matches have me involved. Like, when you really think about it, that's John Cena's last storyline is John Cena Dominic Mysterio. sure, there's going to be one last match with whoever wins the last time is now tournament, but not a real storyline going into this. Like after this Saturday, we don't have any more John Cena appearances until that last match on December 13th Saturday night's main event in Washington, D.C. So it's not like there's time to build up a story.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Not that you need to build up a story in any sort of way. Like the winner of the tournament goes one-on-one with John Cena in his last match ever. win or lose, you're retiring John Sina. Like, John Sina retires after that match. So I think that Dominic Mysterio wins this match. Although, I said this last week, I think that Dominic Mysterio is already over. Like, Sina has already put over Dominic Mysterio.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Like, I don't think that Dom needed a win against John Sina to say that John Sina was passing a torch to him or putting him over. like that one-on-one match in Boston was like just such a perfect raw moment, such a perfect TV match. And like, yeah, Dominic Mysterio lost the championship, but he lost nothing in that. Like, he came out of that match looking like such a bigger star. So I'd love to figure out and find out like what's the logic behind. The six-man match at Madison Square Garden, I think that was just like straight up fan service
Starting point is 00:08:59 and fun. But I'd love to know why it's Dominic Mysterio again. We could have had a really fun match here. I mean, there's a lot of different options for matches, but I thought that there was a chance here that we were going to see Ray versus Dom. And then when that didn't happen, I'm like, well, maybe we'll get like another like real fan service match. Maybe it's Ray versus John Cena. Ray's hometown. He's the guy who like, when you think of 619, you think of Ray Mysterio, that would have been another one, I think, could have made sense. And then it would be be a chance for us to see John Sina versus Ray Mysterio, because that hasn't happened on the tour. He teamed with him in that six-man match and Madison Square Garden, but not a one-on-one match.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And there's still a handful of more than a handful. There's a lot of one-on-one matches that we haven't seen, and I guess we will not see during John Sina's final run. But we're getting John Sina versus Dominic Mysterio. I'm taking Dom to win back that I-C championship in this one. Stephanie Vacare is putting up her women's world championship against Nikki Bella here. And I just don't feel like Stephanie Vakir's run is done here. So I think that Stephanie Vakir wins the championship here and maybe holds it for, I mean,
Starting point is 00:10:15 there's a chance here she could hold this into WrestleMania. I think that kind of factors in on what happens in the women's war games match and what storylines we get out of that, but I think Stephanie Vicar wins this one for sure. So then that takes us into the women's war games match. Ria Ripley, Eoskeye, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and A.J. Lee versus Nia Jax, Lash Legend, the Kabuki Warriors, which is Oskah and Kyrisane, and Becky Lynch. I think a lot of storylines can break out from this. I think that AJ Lee versus Becky Lynch is clearly not done.
Starting point is 00:10:58 That's kind of why they're the cornerstones of this match. That's a match. I think that that's a storyline that can take us in next year easily. That's a match that I think we could see at WrestleMania. And that's one that doesn't need a championship on the line. This could just be one that's like just pure hatred. I love what Becky Lynch is doing as a heel. I love this.
Starting point is 00:11:20 She's like totally playing this up and like playing. playing up the idea. She got screwed out of the Intercontinental Championship when she lost it to Maxine Dupree and like she's calling out the referee and she's calling out Adam Pierce, called out Sam Roberts, poor Sam Roberts. It's just been so fun to see. And I, geez, I guess I should watch my mouth because I feel like if I say anything about Becky Lynch, she's going to start calling me out as well. Becky, I love you. You're awesome. So let's not see that happen. But I think that if we look at the 10 superstars that are in this match, I think we could see quite a few of these breaking off and being storylines over the next few months and maybe even something
Starting point is 00:12:06 that leads us into WrestleMania. So it'll be really interesting to see what we end up getting from this one. I'm going with the baby faces on this one. I'm going with the baby faces taking this one. again, though, like, I feel this way about the men's match as well. I just don't feel like there's anything at stake here. Like, yeah, 10 huge names in both matches, both the men's and the women's. Like absolute stacked matches here. But I just don't, like, feel like there's anything at stake. Like, if the heels lose here, they don't really lose anything.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Just, you know, pick up and, like, kind of individually just move on from this. And like I said, we get some breakout stories. storylines, but I don't feel like them taking a loss here really hurts. So going with the baby faces on that one. And then we've got the men's war games match. C.M. Punk. Cody Rhodes. Jimmy and Jay and Roman Raines versus Brombreaker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Barack Lesner. Fun fact, maybe you saw it this week on social media. This is the first time that Brock Lezzer has teamed with anybody since 2006 when he teamed with Shinska Nakamura in New Japan.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Isn't that wild? And I think that his last tag match before that was 2003. Now, 2004, February, 2004, he teamed up with the big show to take on John Sina and Eddie Guerrard. 21 years ago is the last time that he's been in a WWE. match with another person as a partner. Crazy. What a fun stat that is. And this match just in general is just stacked.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Just stacked. I heard Paul Hayman say that this is the greatest assembly of talent on either side. And I think he's right. Like I think it's fair to say this is the biggest war games match ever, just in terms of talent here. So with that said, with that. statement there of this just being stacked with talent, the expectations are high, real high. So they have to deliver on what those expectations are. And I think that they will.
Starting point is 00:14:31 And just like what I was saying with the women's match, I think we're going to see some breakout feuds from this, some stuff that could take us into WrestleMania from here. But like there's definitely some storylines here that can turn into something more. I think that with the beat down that we saw on Raw, with Logan Paul laying in the ring and everyone pouring prime on him, it just kind of feels like that's the telltale sign, right? Like when someone's laying in the ring
Starting point is 00:15:03 and kind of like being embarrassed like that, it's usually like, oh, that's because they're going to win at the PLA. And that's what I feel like here. I feel like the heels win this one. But also kind of like in the women's match, I don't feel like the baby face is losing here really loses anything for them. I think a big question is who takes the pin.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Who takes the pin here? And then what does that end up meaning? If it's Brock Lesnar pinning CM Punk, for example, does that lead to something in the new year? If it's, ooh, what if it's Drew McIntyre pinning Cody Rhodes? Does that reignite things? Does that give Drew McIntyre some more fuel for his fire? And continue, it was very interesting when Cody Rose was like, I'm not done with you, Drew McIntyre,
Starting point is 00:16:00 which now leads into the War Games match here. What if it's like Brom Breaker pinning Roman Raines? Like I feel like that's a match we can see in the future. Brom breaker pinning CM Punk, whatever the case may be, I think that whoever gets pinned in this match, I think ends up like that ends up being a story. There's a lot of stories coming out of this, but I think we get the heels winning this. And if I'm going to have to guess here, who's going to be pinning whom? It just feels like it's going to be one of the Uso's.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I'm going to go with Jimmy Uso taking the pin. But if it's one of the champions, if it's CM Punk or it's Cody Rhodes, taking the pin here, I think that definitely sets up a storyline in the future. And maybe the person that even pins them is the person who's going to win the championship from them. But if you're going to Survivor Series war games tomorrow, I will see you there at Petco Park, one of my favorite modern baseball stadiums. I've seen Padres games there, but man, I can't wait. to see wrestling. And I've seen, like, we've seen the video and the photos of the buildout.
Starting point is 00:17:16 This set's going to be just bonkers, I think. This episode is brought to you by Zbiotics. I have to tell you about this game-changing product that I use before a night out with drinks. It's called pre-alcohol. Zbiotics, pre-alcohol probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic. It was invented by PhD scientists to tackle rough mornings after drinking. Here's how it works. When you drink, alcohol gets converted into a toxic byproduct in the gut. It's a buildup of this byproduct, not dehydration that's to blame for the rough days after drinking. Pre-alcohol produces an enzyme to break this byproduct down.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Just remember to make pre-alcohol your first drink of the night, drink responsibly, and you'll feel your best tomorrow. So I first gave pre-alcohol a try when I was with my wife. We were out with some friends. I drank it before my first old-fashioned. I had a drink or two or maybe five, and you wouldn't believe how on top of my game I felt the next morning. Make the most of every toast, tailgate, and touchdown this holiday season. Just don't forget to bring pre-alcohol along for the ride.

Starting point is 00:19:41 Go to car gurus.com. Go to car gurus.com. Make sure your big deal is the best deal. That's C-A-R-G-U-R-U-S dot com. Car gurus.com. Josh on Spotify says, Love you, Chris, but I got to say, I think you're alone in the Joe Hendry stuff
Starting point is 00:20:00 and wanting him in the tournament. I think his gimmick came and went and people would have been annoyed as it was seen as a waste of time. Honestly, he doesn't even deserve it. How rude, Josh. He got the Randy match. which was huge.
Starting point is 00:20:13 No need to waste a spot in the tournament for him. All respect and love. Just got a call out when we disagree as much as the opposite. Well, I think, Josh, if you have seen the comments, we're talking early on when they were announcing who was going to be in the tournament and then who the surprise opponents might be, the comments on every single social media platform
Starting point is 00:20:35 were filled with Joe Hendry Gifts. You can pronounce it Jiff. I know that's actually the correct way, but they're filled with Joe Hendry's face. They're filled with say his name and he appears. I'm certainly not alone in saying that I wanted Joe Hendry in this tournament, especially when you think of the idea of like everything else he has manifested in his life has come true. Why not this one as well?
Starting point is 00:21:02 I'm paraphrasing, but that's essentially what he told me the last time he was on the show a few months ago. Joe Henry was at the top of the list of people, like, of realistic possibilities for the tournament. Yes, of course, people were tossing around names like Edge or Chris Jericho, which I just think contractually, that's not possible. But if we're talking about, like, realistic names, I am certainly not on an island and not alone here in wanting Joe Hendry in the tournament. but he wasn't announced originally. He wasn't announced as one of the surprise opponents.
Starting point is 00:21:41 John Cena had some very nice things to say about him on NXT, and I love that. But Joe Hendry has worked so hard for what he's got and where he is. And I think that if you think his gimmick has come and gone, I think you are in for quite a surprise as he continues to just work as hard as he can to continue to create moments and also momentum as well. As we look at the John Cena last time as now tournament, I guess there's a chance. I guess there's still a chance.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Right now there's six competitors left in the last time as now tournament. Although Smackdown has already been taped because of the holiday, because it's Black Friday today as well. I don't want to give away any spoilers here. So we're not going to talk about the spoilers. we are going to talk about Smackdown still airing tonight. Tonight, though, on Smackdown, we are going to find out who Seamus's surprise replacement is.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Seamus got injured. Man, it was awful to see that. I think there's so much storyline there. Great, though, that Seamus got his moment in the ring with John Cena, that match at Madison Square Garden, that six-mail match. But we find out who the replacement is tonight. We also get Rusev versus Jay Uso, So after tonight airs, the semifinals are going to be set.
Starting point is 00:23:10 We got Solo Sacoa and Gunther on one side. And then we've got the winner of Jay Uso and Rusev, and then also the winner of L.A. Knight. Yeah. And his mystery opponent. So six will come down to four tonight. I really feel like Penta was going to win that match against Solo. and then Penta had that scary injury sending him my best wishes, man, hoping for a speedy recovery
Starting point is 00:23:41 there. But like Solo just ended up winning the match just as a result because Penta couldn't continue. But I just feel like Penta was supposed to win that match. But we all have our guesses for who the mystery opponent could be for L.A. Knight. Yeah. the replacement for Seamus leaving the tournament with that shoulder injury. And I think that is a legit injury, which just absolutely sucks. So if you haven't read the spoilers yet, don't read them.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Allow yourself to be surprised and to see who the replacement will be there. Maybe if you say his name, he'll appear. I don't know. You're going to have to watch tonight and see what happens. I'm not giving anything away here. Not revealing any spoilers. at all. Tanner Lee 92 on X says,
Starting point is 00:24:36 I've got another Mount Rushmore question for you, and I do truly enjoy Mount Rushmore questions. It's just been, I've just had this running joke of like, we had one a week, and then we had like two a week, every week. And now we can't go a week without them. So I love it.
Starting point is 00:24:54 It's welcome to the Mount Rushmore segment of AskCTVV11. And Tanner's question is, who is on your all-time Mount Rushmore for having the best drop kick? That is a fantastic question and a tough one. It's been so many great drop kicks. I'm going to go with Hardcore Holly. How perfect was Hardcore Holly's drop kick every single time? And I've said this in the past, but I will put it back out into the unit.
Starting point is 00:25:29 again, Hardcore Holly on the list of guests that I would love to have on the show. He feels like he's on the impossible list. Like, when was the last time you saw a Hardcore Holly interview? He goes on the same list for me as Steve Blackman. And I didn't think a Steve Blackman interview was possible at all. And that one kind of came out of nowhere. His first interview, what was it in like 17 years? I think it was.
Starting point is 00:25:57 And it's not like he was like shut off from doing them, it just, I don't know, maybe, maybe no one had asked or maybe no one in a, you know, approached him about it. I don't know, but I was the lucky one who got to do it. Actually, Steve Blackman randomly called me last week. It was the weirdest thing. I was at the big event in New York and I was just hanging around chatting and my phone started buzzing and if you're a father or mother, you know that when you're out of town and your phone buzzes, you, you know that when you're out of town and your phone buzzes, You got to at least look to see if it's your wife. So, oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Okay. Oh, Steve Blackman's calling me? Like, hold on one second. Hello? And he's like, hey, Chris, how you doing? I saw you just had Mick Foley on your show. Did he tell the story about how I was teaching him the, like, the way to do the mandible claw?
Starting point is 00:26:51 I'm like, really? No, he didn't mention that. He told a different, like, it maybe didn't tell the whole story, but he told a different part of the story. He goes, oh, wow, oh, that's crazy. I was telling him, like, all the, like, pressure points and everything. I'm like, that's fascinating. And he called me up just to, like, chat with me about that. And the great thing about Steve Blackman is he always, like, seems to have a smile in his voice when he's talking. Oh, it was lovely. But hardcore Holly is on that list of the people I feel like may be impossible to get his guests. Stacey Keebler is also on that list.
Starting point is 00:27:26 and I'll add one more. Boogieman out of character is also on that list. Like, boogie man in character would be amazing. I just think it'd be tough
Starting point is 00:27:38 for an hour to talk to like the boogeyman with worms coming out of his mouth for an hour. Although that would be fun unless he like forced me to eat
Starting point is 00:27:47 worms. I wouldn't be, it wouldn't be very cool with that. But like to talk to Marty about just like the idea behind. I mean,
Starting point is 00:27:56 he, audition for tough enough. The whole story there. But he, there's just, I'm, I am off on a tangent. My goodness. Hardcore Holly, what a drop kick. Would love to have him on the show. Maven, what a drop kick. And like it was so clear from the early days of tough enough that like, Maven was obviously athletic. And he even mentioned this when he's been on the show. The first time that Al Snow saw him do a drop kick, he was like, all right, kid. Yep, that's your move. You can, you clearly got height on that. So Hardcore Holly, Maven, a young Randy Orton.
Starting point is 00:28:34 And like, especially with the size that Randy Orton has to be able to like get up so effortlessly. Randy Orton. Specifically a young, like early in his career, Randy Orden. And then the last spot, there's so many great drop kicks. So many of them. But how can we talk about great. great drop kicks without talking about Eddie Guerrero. And nobody touched him.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Elevation, rotation, crispness, timing, all of it. Eddie checked every box. This wasn't just a drop kick. Eddie had the drop kick. And my goodness, I still can't believe it's been 20 years since we lost Eddie. Anderson on Facebook says Ask CVV number 111. Hey, Chris, they keep teasing us with Randy's punk kick. When do you think we will see this happen? Also, who do you think we'll take it? It's been over five years since Randy's last punk kick. Drew McIntyre, August of 2020,
Starting point is 00:29:51 although I feel like you got to put an asterisk on that one. And the week prior to the week Prior to that, he also punted Sean Michaels, but I think there has to be an asterisk on just like the COVID era. I think there was some editing tricks, some camera tricks, very different from doing it live in the ring in front of 10 or 20 or 50,000 people. Like the ones that he gave to Drew McIntyre are like, they're backstage, the camera cuts.
Starting point is 00:30:23 I think you can pretty clearly tell it, a different looking punt. And the move has been banned for safety reasons since then. I think that's why we haven't seen it in a long time. Number in 2009, when that version of Randy Orton, that incredible heel version of Randy Orton,
Starting point is 00:30:43 did it to Vince McMahon. That pump was pretty controversial because Vince got concussed. Vince got busted open by it. But credit to Vince McMahon just as a performer, he was always willing to take the move. If he was asking you to do something,
Starting point is 00:31:02 it's because you know that he was going to do it himself. And he proved that time and time again in the ring. But it's a band move. They tease it a lot. And I think that's part of the allure of it. It's like it's a kill shot to knock out move. Like how are you going to get up? In real life, like if someone were to do that to you for real,
Starting point is 00:31:23 like, punch your head. with all of their might like you're a football and it's, you know, Sunday, you'd probably be knocked out or severely concussed. Your bell would be rung. But if we're talking about like people who I think could have or should have or would have, this is turning into a Dr. Seuss book here, who could have taken it, I think K.O. could have taken it, might have taken it. I think that that would have been one.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Maybe that's still a possibility here. I don't think that there's any superstar that's going to be like, oh, no, Randy. Like, I don't trust you to do that move. But I just think it's one of those moves that's on the list. But with that said, wasn't the pile driver on that list
Starting point is 00:32:12 for a long time? And Kevin Owens was delivering pile drivers and like felt like a real like, exclamation point. when Kevin Owens delivered that to Cody Rhodes, to Randy Orton. And that's why I say that, like, there's a story there. That's why I say Kevin Owens could take the punt and it would make sense. If Randy Orton is going to get hit with a band move, the pile driver from Kevin
Starting point is 00:32:41 Owens, well, maybe we turn this right back around, kill shot, boom, punt kick. But I don't know. Like, it might be a move that we just may not. ever see again. I'm not sure, but five years of Randy not hitting it. I don't know. The last time he was delivering punk kicks, he was in that championship picture. That was actually his last WWE championship. October of 2020 is when he won that. He won it from Drew McIntyre, then dropped it to Drew McIntyre. So maybe if we come back around here,
Starting point is 00:33:24 maybe he's going to use the punt, if and when he wins that 15th championship. Because I don't think that's an if or when. I think that is a when Randy Orton wins his 15th championship, which I would have to think comes in the next year or two. They've teased the stuff with Cody Rhodes for too long to not deliver.
Starting point is 00:33:47 on this. I mean, it's got to happen, right? We've got to see it at some point in time. But I think if there ever was a time for us to see a pun, feels like it'd be pretty fitting if it's when Randy Orton's, when Randy Orton picks up that next championship. Matthew Self on Facebook says, not including world titles, what do you think is the best looking belt ever. I personally love the European championship that WWE slash F had from 98 to 2002. I thought it was a beautiful belt. I agree with you. Very beautiful belt. And I love the stories we got with it like Kurt Angle being the Eurocontinental champion with both titles. I love that. I miss the European championship. and I could definitely see another secondary title being in the mix here.
Starting point is 00:34:47 It was cool when they had the 24-7. It gave a focus to people who weren't in that real mid-card title spot or the main event title picture. It gave them something else to fight for. And maybe the 24-7 championship or the hardcore championship isn't a great example because they were changing hands like multiple times per show. But it also worked so many more superstars in the mix than maybe didn't have anything else going on.
Starting point is 00:35:20 But if you think about it right now, you've got tag team championships aside. If you're a singles competitor, if you're not, and Kerry and Cross mentioned this, not in the last interview, but the one we had before that. And he raises a really good point.
Starting point is 00:35:36 If you're not in the title picture for the World Heavyweight, championship or the WWE championship or the U.S. title or the Intercontinental Championship, that's it. Like you're just, you're just kind of trying to figure things out and, like, work your way up to that. There's only four championships, but split between two shows, ish, loosely split between two shows.
Starting point is 00:35:59 But you know what I mean? Like, realistically speaking, and I understand that the brand split is, it leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't really mean that much. But if we're in the context of how it's supposed to work, you've really got a world champion on one show or the other, and you've got a mid-card champion on one card or another. So, like, it's really only one title for the mid-card to fight for,
Starting point is 00:36:32 and one title for the main event to fight for. I would love to see another one in there. if it makes sense. It would have to make sense, but we've seen it work with the Cruiserweight Championship. We've seen it work, obviously, with the European Championship. I thought it worked with the 24-7, especially with the humor that Our Truth brought to it.
Starting point is 00:36:56 It worked years ago with the hardcore championship. It'd be cool to see that back. My favorite-looking championship that is not a world title is the white strap intercontinental championship. And shout out to the yellow strap intercontinental championship that Ultimate Warrior had. And shout out to the blue strap
Starting point is 00:37:20 intercontinental championship that HBK had, which doesn't get talked about nearly as often. But man, I thought that looked so good. But that's my favorite non-world championship, for sure. I just think it's such a classic looking
Starting point is 00:37:36 title and something about the white, I think just makes it pop so much. And also thank you for Matthew bringing up the European championship. I don't know, maybe that's nostalgia for me. And as we know, I feel like I've got to say it every single week. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. But there's something about that European championship that just, I don't know, makes you feel good when I see throwback clips of it online or I see a throwback photo of it. I, I, I just just really like that. Chase Rancic on Facebook says, yo, CVV!
Starting point is 00:38:12 I loved your Mount Rushmore of old theme songs that are actually better than the new version. I too love Randy's Burn in My Light. I said I liked Burn in My Light, but I think Voices is, I mean, what a classic, and he's had it for, I think he's had it since like 2008, is it? Back to your question here.
Starting point is 00:38:34 What's a theme song in general? that doesn't get talked about enough. You know what theme song doesn't get talked about enough? Is Brock Lesnar's theme song? He has had the same theme song since he made his debut in 2002. It's changed like very slightly,
Starting point is 00:38:55 like a slight remix of like some heavier bass or some heavier drums. But for the most part, by and large, this is the same theme song since 2000. too. Like, no version with lyrics, like that was a thing for a while where you would take the theme song and then you would ask a popular band to remix the song with lyrics, or then you'd get a heel remix or a baby face remix. We haven't seen that. If Brock Leasers just had the and like every time I hear it, I just think of Michael Cole and that classic call,
Starting point is 00:39:31 here comes the pain. I think that theme song doesn't get talked. about enough. Like that song just like sets the tone from the the first beat. It sets the tone of like, oh yeah, someone's going to get beat up here. And like I know that there's other versions that there are other theme songs that haven't changed, but there's just something about Brock Lezzer's that just doesn't, I don't feel like it gets the, it just, it's not on the same level. I don't feel like it gets talked about as much. Ultimate Warrior, like when he got unstable, I get it. No remix is there.
Starting point is 00:40:12 No alternate versions. Same song for that entire run. Pun intended when I say run. Goldberg, like slightly different mixes between WCW and WWE. But like same composition, same structure, same song. Like you really can. barely notice any changes there. So like, yeah, there's definitely examples of this. I think it's important to mention Kurt Engel and that song Metal, although, you know, you're a
Starting point is 00:40:46 real one. You know that that wasn't originally his song. That song was the Patriot's song. And then Kurt Engel just got it when he debuted. And then there were remixes there. They would, I mean, the song stayed structurally the same, but that got remixed. Stone Cold. same type of idea when he became Stone Cold, but of course there was the remix with Disturbed and the different metal riffs. Like, I'm just saying, Brock Lesnar, 2002,
Starting point is 00:41:16 then leaving for UFC, and then coming back, various times he has made returns, same song, even though there might be different, like, might be cowboy Brock Lesnar, might be dancing, Brock Lesnar with the Money in the Bank briefcase, but the song remains the same. And I just feel like
Starting point is 00:41:36 that is such a rarity, especially in the current era now of WWE. And that's clearly an intentional decision. I wonder if that's a Brock decision. I wonder if that was a Vince McMahon decision. I wonder if that is now a Triple H decision, maybe all of them together. But I think that that's one that it doesn't get talked about nearly enough. Email from Nage Medala. Ask CVV-1-We-The-Wans edition is what you titled this. Hey, CVV, just finished listening to your swerve Strickland interview. I will say it's well-timed again. He just returned at the end of full gear.
Starting point is 00:44:41 His perspective about wrestling is really nice to hear. And the way that he talks makes me feel like he's a great ambassador for AEW and should be looked at as one of the franchise players of AEW along with Hangman Page, Will Osprey and MJF. My question is if WWE and AEW were to have a one year only, one for one trade, which wrestler should each company choose. Well, thank you for checking out that interview with Swerve. The way that he thinks about wrestling is very different from, I think, anything I've ever heard.
Starting point is 00:45:20 And I've done quite a few of these interviews. He thinks about it almost like cinematically. He talks a lot about, this is an acting thing. He talks a lot about like, what's your why, like, what's your reasoning here? what's your intention for this feud, this match, this storyline, this promo, whatever the case may be. But I just loved how he broke it all down. And I will be doing him a complete injustice if I keep trying to paraphrase him. So if you didn't listen to that episode on Tuesday, I think it's one of the best episodes of the year.
Starting point is 00:45:51 And he just speaks so openly and so freely about his process. and it's a real interesting look into the way that he approaches wrestling. And it's just so interesting. One-on-one trade for one year only. I think the obvious choice here from going from AW to WW, and when you think about all the matches that we could see and the dream storylines out of this, I want to see MJF.
Starting point is 00:46:26 in WWE and see the kind of stories he could tell, the kind of matches that we could have there. Like the promos, oh man, the promos would be fantastic. If we're going to go the other way, I think that selfishly I'm doing this just because I want to see a whole bunch of dream matches,
Starting point is 00:46:49 we're going to send Seth Rollins over to AEW on the trade. and then we're going to get Will Osprey versus Seth Rollins a match that, oh my gosh, I would just love to see. We're going to see Hangman versus Seth Rollins. We're going to see Okada versus Seth Rollins. Obviously, this is complete fantasy booking with all of this, but I like your question here. And that's the way I would do it. I think that there's a lot of other really interesting stories that could be told, especially if it's just for that short window of like it's one year one year you're this is it's just going to be
Starting point is 00:47:29 January to December that's it tell all the stories you can have all the dream matches that you can and then we go back it resets and maybe there's another one for one trade the next year but that's how I would that's how I would have that play out and you're talking about there's a lot of people in both companies right now who have wrestled in both companies There's also, obviously, quite a few people who have only wrestled in WWE or have only wrestled in AEW. So in the example that I'm thinking about here, that's what I want. I want someone who has not dipped their toe into the other pond, if you will.
Starting point is 00:48:11 I don't know what kind of reference that was, but that's what I want to see. I want to see matches that we haven't seen before. So in this fantasy booking here, that's what I'm going to go with. Jordan Waters emailed this one in. A lot of pleases. You put please in bold in all caps. Please, ask CVV-111. Please, please, please, please, please, please.
Starting point is 00:48:34 Jordan, I got you. Hey, CVV, I have a question for Ask CVV. Episode 111. What is your favorite AEW match? Mine is Will Osprey versus Kyle Fletcher inside the steel cage. What a match that was. Speaking of Kyle Fletcher,
Starting point is 00:48:52 when are we getting that interview? Thanks for everything you do. Your podcast are the perfect way to end the night after putting the kids to bed. Much love from the home of the hitman, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I said it like Landstorm there.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Jordan, thank you for the email. Hope the kids went to bed okay tonight. The Kyle Fletcher interview has been recorded, so I feel comfortable in saying that you will be seeing that interview on December 16th. I'm looking at the schedule right now.
Starting point is 00:49:28 It is schedule for Tuesday, December 16th. And I said that Chelsea Green was going to be next Thursday. It's going to be the Thursday after that. So we've got, I'll tell you what we've got here. C.J. Perry, Lana,
Starting point is 00:49:42 joins us on Tuesday. It's a great conversation. She has an amazing new podcast. If you have some time, actually, when this episode is done, go check out C.J.'s podcast. It's called Identity Crisis.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Then we've got Brian Danielson joining us on Thursday. And then, wow, that's a big one here, December 9th. It's a big one. It hasn't been recorded yet. I would feel awful
Starting point is 00:50:13 saying who this person is, but it is likely the big. biggest interview of the year. Then we've got Chelsea Green on December 11th, and then Kyle Fletcher, to answer your question, on December 16th. So Kyle Fletcher versus Will Osprey in the steel cage, what a match. We talk about that quite a bit in this interview. If I got to narrow down to just one, I think I got to go back. And this is, there's going to be more than one, but the one that always comes to mind.
Starting point is 00:50:52 For so many different reasons, I was there. We're talking double or nothing, the very first AEW event, 2019. Dustin Rhodes versus Cody Rhodes is such a great match. The in-ring stuff is like as close to perfect as you can get in a match. The storytelling, amazing. Like the whole idea of like these are brothers. They're at each other's. throat and then there's a big hug at the end. I cried. I've never cried during a wrestling
Starting point is 00:51:27 match before. But like that was so emotional the way that we were invested in that. And if you've never seen that match, my goodness, take some time this weekend to watch it or rewatch it if you haven't seen it since it aired live in 2019. Man, what a match. I also got to add to the list. Will Osprey versus Brian Danielson at Dynasty 2024. My goodness. And Brian Danielson versus Swerve Strickland at all in when it was just like just amazing storytelling, great character arcs. The payoff here of Brian Danielson winning the AEW championship in Wembley Stadium in
Starting point is 00:52:15 front of his family. They were allowed to go into the ring and celebrate with him. him and he said like you know kind of bummed him out that that wasn't a thing like his wasn't allowed to celebrate with brie at russomania 30 when he won the titles there it's like there were just a lot of great what a brian danielsen what a wrestler what a wrestler so there's uh there's there's there's three but there's something about that roads versus roads match that man it's it's just it's powerful email from Jason officer. Hey, CVV, we are real, real ones.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Appreciate you. My boys, Trenton, Braxton, and I listen to your episodes in the car all the time. I hope you guys are listening right now. We want to know, what is your Mount Rushmore of wrestlers who left us too soon? And we never got to see the true heights of what they could have become. Keep up the great work and can't wait to hear you interview Triple H and The Rock. well, let's hope that how... I will say this.
Starting point is 00:53:18 That is not the interview I was talking about in a few weeks. So I'll just say that. But I hope that those interviews happen in 2026. I mentioned his name just a few minutes ago. Eddie Guerrero. I mean, there's, look, there's so many wrestlers who left us too soon. Like, so many.
Starting point is 00:53:36 The list is... It's way too long. But Eddie Guerrero, for sure, is on that list of, like, what more could he have done? Bray Wyatt, of course. Man,
Starting point is 00:53:49 this made me so sad thinking about this. Like, I, it always, it always, like, gets me. I'm 42 years old.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And it gets me when I find out the age of someone who I feel like was in the peak of their career. And I'm like, I'm older than them. Like,
Starting point is 00:54:09 Eddie Guerrero was 39. Bray Wyatt. was 36. Like, I can't even begin to imagine that if I only had 36 years and that was it. And, like, Bray certainly made the most of it. Absolutely. But, like, it's just, it's so sad to think of how many wrestlers left us too soon. And there was an era there, like, early-ish 2000s, mid-2000s, but I felt like it was like happening all the time. And it was like, oh, my goodness. Owen Hart, of course, 34. And this, I think there's no way I can limit this to just four. Like there's, there's so many who had like still had years in front of them. Like what would Owen Hart? What was he going to end up
Starting point is 00:55:10 doing? Like, man, test. That's another way. one like big man solid in ring ability hmm like the intensity he had in the ring 33 years old yoko zuna 34 years old british bulldog 39 years old umaga 36 crash holly 32 Chris Canyon, 40. Like, it's not an extensive list at all. Of course. Like, I'm sure that one or more of your favorite wrestlers gone too soon. And that's just like the sad reality for a long time.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Like, the idea of like seeing the headline of like, wrestler dies and like at age. you know like 94 or something like just wasn't a thing for a long time like just really really sad to think about but yeah it's it's a long list like brodie lee big boss man like the list goes on and on and i if i continue talking here i'm going to clearly leave someone off the list but so many uh so But to make it just a list of four, I don't think I can do it. Ryan McLeod on Facebook,
Starting point is 00:56:45 I will say Ryan McLeod, one of my best friends from Pickering. This is not Ryan. This is not that Ryan. I feel like he would have texted me if he had a question. He's also not a big wrestling fan. So just know Ryan McLeod from Facebook, who left this message, this question.
Starting point is 00:57:03 You share the name with, a great friend of mine. Ryan says, will you be in the ring on the Jericho cruise? Hopefully get to meet you there. I love your podcast. Ryan, I will absolutely meet you there on the Jericho cruise. Will I be getting into the ring? I think unlikely, unless you know something that, I don't know, I might be getting into the ring to like shake someone's hand. Maybe I'll be getting into the ring to announce someone or do a quick post-match interview, but I will not be wrestling as far as I know. Christian Rercoe Rock and Rager at C, November 7th to 11th, 2026. I guess we're now inside a year away from this and the just stacked everybody who's going to be there. Let's see if I can find
Starting point is 00:57:57 the full list here of, I'm on the website right now. Jeff Hardy, Saraya, Great Muda, Nick Nemith, Bully Ray, Elena Black, Brad Williams as the master of ceremonies. He is hilarious. I'm going to have him back on the show. Carlito, Ted DiBiasey, Shotsie Blackheart, Buff Bagwell, A.J. Francis, Blumini. I'm going to be listed names for the rest of the show here.
Starting point is 00:58:27 It's stacked. Absolutely stacked. And they don't have it listed here, but I will be doing a live episode of insight on the Chris Jericho, Rock and Wrestling Ranger at Sea. So maybe they got to update the website or update the images to talk about that. Like they've got live podcasts. They've got Talk of Jericho, obviously. Makes sense. Rule Breakers with Soraya.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Makes sense, for sure. But I'm doing a live podcast there, too. so I feel like I need to have them update the website here to let them know. But if I'm getting into the ring in any sort of capacity there, Ryan, I do not believe it is to be wrestling a match. Maybe it's to give or take a move. I don't know. I am completely making this up as I talk right now.
Starting point is 00:59:25 The cruise is 11 and 3 quarter months away. Anything can happen. between now and then. Also, I guess the big question is going to be which company does Chris Jericho work for by the time the Chris Jericho cruise rolls around next November. I guess we shall see. James Z 2004 on Instagram says,
Starting point is 00:59:51 well, CBV Live be going international any time in the future. Well, we did a live show in Canada in February this year, That was a, man, two live shows there. One with Italia, one with the Hurt Syndicate, had a blast there. Great to be back in Toronto. Love to hanging out with you guys for that. I guess technically speaking, we'll be going international on the Jericho cruise.
Starting point is 01:00:20 I don't know if we'll be in, we might be in international waters. We might be, we might have already made our way to Bahamas by the time the cruise happens in my podcast comes around. So the answer is, I guess, technically, with the Jericho Cruz, yes, but also,
Starting point is 01:00:43 and this is the first time I'm saying this out loud, this is not official. So let me preface it with that. This is certainly not official. This is not an announcement. But Smackdown is coming to London on January 6th. and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to do a live show either the afternoon before
Starting point is 01:01:08 Smackdown or the evening before. So that Thursday night. So trying to work out the details, trying to figure this out, I've probably already said way too much. But if this all comes to fruition, if this is a real possibility, I'll be letting you guys know about this. I mean, we've got to six-ish weeks away. So we got to start going on this. We've got to start figuring out all the details. So if I can get this confirmed, you will obviously be the first to know. And I would love to do that.
Starting point is 01:01:41 I love the UK. I love London. Like it's such a fun city. And every time I meet a wrestling fan from the UK, I just feel like you guys are like, you're just another level of hardcore. So I would love to do a live show with you guys. And then also see you at Smackdown as well. So again, not an announcement.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Nothing official here. Okay? I've definitely said too much. Nate 88M on Spotify. Hey, CVV, would you rather? Here we go. I love it. Please send in the would you rather's every single week.
Starting point is 01:02:27 These are so fun. Would you rather? Once a week, you take a spear from Braun Breaker anywhere at any time or at any moment. John Moxley once a week chases you down with a fork? Nate? You trying to get me killed here? Nate says, me, I'm taking the spear. I think I'm with you here.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Once a week? Oh, man. So like you're saying once a week, the spear is anywhere, any time. I'm taking a spear. Oh, and then you're saying at any moment, John Moxley could chase you down with the fork. So neither of these are scheduled is what you're saying. Like, both of these are random attacks.
Starting point is 01:03:12 One is a supreme next-level athlete running at you 23 miles an hour and breaking you in half once a week, by the way. The other is once a week by surprise, so you could just be like, you know, like, out washing the car and then John Mox is going to chase you down with a fork. Does he connect with the fork or is he just chasing you? Because I don't mind running. I don't mind a good run.
Starting point is 01:03:42 I quite enjoy running, actually. So if he's just chasing me with the fork but not connecting, I mean, I'm reading your exact words here. It's just the chase. Maybe that's some nice cardio. But what if I'm like, what if I really don't have the, time to run. Like what if I'm like, like, what if I'm like, I don't know, what if I'm at the store? What if I'm like grabbing some grocery? I've just, I've just got a carton of eggs and they're in
Starting point is 01:04:12 my hand. Do I throw them up and make a mess and start running around the grocery store? Also, what are people going to think? Are they going to call the police? They might call the police so I'm getting spear in the middle of a grocery store too. So if John Moxley is connecting with the fork, I've got to take the spear. Although both sound awful. These are terrible choices. This is like the, I love the, would you rather, with the, the duck-sized, the horse-sized duck, or the hundred horse-ducks, horse-sized, horse-sized, horse-sized, duck-sized, the duck-sized horses. Like, the horse-sized duck is like fighting a dinosaur. It just sounds terrifying.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I guess I'll go with you on this one, Nate. I guess I'll take the spear. maybe it'll just wind me. Maybe it'll break a few of my ribs. But the fork, I don't know. I don't want to be bleeding every week, once a week. I'm sitting in an interview with my head all bandaged up, sitting across from, I don't know, Nick Nemith again,
Starting point is 01:05:19 or sitting across from Ray Mysterio. Like, hey, man, what happened to your head? Could you imagine I get my first interview with Tristratus at some point in time, but my head has been, I've been forked in my head. I've got to explain to Trish. Hey, Trish, I've been trying to do this interview for years. Please forgive my forked forehead here.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Roman Torres 718 on Instagram says, with Thanksgiving being this past Thursday, what's your favorite Thanksgiving tradition? It's just being with the family. Like, it's just getting everyone together. and like gratitude is not just a question that I ask at the end of every episode. Like it is truly the way that I like frame my life. And I love that on Thanksgiving, there's just that extra added element of like,
Starting point is 01:06:19 here I am with the people that I love the most, eating some of the most delicious food that I also love the most, with the exception of pizza, of course. But like, here's a chance to just like look around the taste. look around the room, look around the kitchen, wherever you happen to be. And just like, this is one of the huge things I'm grateful for. Like, it's all here under one roof. So that, I think that's the thing I love about it. And like, like I was saying at the start of this episode, there's something special about Thanksgiving in the U.S. Like it, it's the official start of the holiday season. It's Thanksgiving into Christmas, into New Year's, like,
Starting point is 01:07:03 boom, boom, boom, like three real big ones like that. And I, there's something about the, because Thanksgiving in Canada is great. We eat most of the same food. And it's, it's a Monday. It is the second Monday. But in the U.S., it's the food. It's the entire day.
Starting point is 01:07:26 It's football is on back to back to back games. It's just a fun family day. And speaking of the food, I'm not going to do a Mount Rushmore here, but I will tell you that turkey aside, the MVP for me of Thanksgiving is stuffing. Oh, I would fill my entire plate with stuffing if it was socially acceptable. And I don't think anyone in my house would care if I did that, but that's what I feel like. I just want to eat stuffing. Stuffing with turkey gravy on it on it.
Starting point is 01:08:03 my goodness. Also, I love, I love pie. The reason I pause there is because I was thinking of the rock. Do you like pie? I love apple pie. I love it so much. Like warm apple pie. I'm not making an American pie reference here. I just, it's my favorite, like, I don't know if I would, I guess I would order if I go to a restaurant, and I actually do order it at restaurants often, but there's something about apple pie. It's like a dessert when you're sitting around the table with family and friends. I don't know. Apple pie, a little bit of vanilla ice cream, man. I know that pumpkin pie is the traditional Thanksgiving pie, but I'm just, I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I'm just not a big pumpkin pie fan. Maybe it's not sweet enough for my liking.
Starting point is 01:09:08 I don't know. I have a real sweet tooth. If you haven't already, if you've been listening to the show long enough, I think you're aware of that. But if you haven't keyed in on that, I've got a real sweet tooth. And apple pie, it does it for me. I'll tell you a funny story. On Wednesday, we had all the Thanksgiving stuff, you know, all ready to go. And we went, oh, the only thing we don't have we two things we don't have cranberry sauce and we don't have dessert we don't have a pie so rvv rach went to the store she came back with two pies she came back with a pumpkin pie and a caramel apple pie and and i said that pie looks amazing uh i jokingly said i feel like i need to have a slice tonight, Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve. She goes, yeah, I mean, it's not like we're
Starting point is 01:10:05 bringing the pie anywhere. Like, we're the ones hosting Thanksgiving? Yeah, I guess. It's just, it's just going to be like, just us. Like it's, it was me, Rach, Logan Cooper, the kids, grandma, so Rachel's mom, my mother-in-law, color gammy, GAMM-M-M-Y, and my buddy Zeus, who's me film some interviews. The owner of West Coast Creative Studio in Los Angeles, in Hollywood, where I shoot all my interviews in the studio. So it's just us. Like, you're amongst loved ones. She's like, I think it's fine. Yeah, have the piece of pie. Who cares if we're cutting slices tomorrow and there's a piece cut out of this? So I had a piece on Wednesday. And of course, I had two pieces on Thursday. That was a lot of talk about pie and stuffing.
