Chris!
My friend, welcome back to another one here on Insight.
CVV.
Chris family with you on this lovely Friday.
And wow, just like that.
We are already halfway through October.
And only two and a half months to go in 2026.
Crazy.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving last Monday to all of my fellow Canadians.
Hope that your turkey and your stuffing and your mashed potatoes, all of it.
I hope it was all delicious.
And I know there's a lot of wrestling podcasts out there.
I know there's a lot of podcasts in general.
So thank you for hitting play on this one today.
And thank you for making insight the number one wrestling podcast.
the planet.
Hit a penta driver on that follow button.
See, you don't miss out on any episodes that we have coming up.
The next three feature former WWE champions.
In fact, one of them is the current WWE champion.
And I always do this.
I've already said too much.
So I might as well tell you who's coming up on the show.
And I've hinted at this.
If you're part of the CVV feed, the broadcast channel on Instagram,
I've posted some behind the scenes photos of who's coming up.
Drew McIntyre joins us on Tuesday.
And yeah, of course, I ask him where he's been, what's he been up to?
He's been filming a lot of movies.
And I asked him, when are we going to see him back in WWE?
I didn't tell me specifically.
But boy, he has a plan for when he's going to come back.
Then we got Cody Rhodes on Thursday.
I saw a street fighter on Wednesday at a special screening in Atlanta that Cody was at.
He was dressed as guy.
which was fun. Someone asked for a review on the movies, so we'll get to that as one of the questions
here in just a little bit. Then the following Tuesday, we've got the current undisputed
WWE champion Sammy Zane on the show for the first time. And wow, we chatted for over two
hours. It might be one of the most in-depth conversations ever on the show. I absolutely loved it.
Like, it's up there for, in my opinion, one of the best episodes of the year.
And that is saying a lot when you look at the guests who have been on the show in
26.
So three just absolute bangers on the way and some really fun ones that we've either recorded
or we're about to record.
I'm flying to, should I say?
I'll say this.
I'm flying to Las Vegas on Tuesday, and I'm recording three episodes there.
You'll see those in the coming weeks, but we're cooking some good ones up here,
especially as we get closer and closer as we inch closer to episode number 1,000,
which according to my calculations, I believe, will be December 1st is when the big episode
1,000 is.
And I just can't believe that's a real number.
Like, when you'd start a podcast, just doing one is a milestone, then doing two, now you've already done twice the amount of episodes.
And then by the time you get the 10, you're like, I can't believe I've done 10 of these.
And we're still doing this.
Then 100 feels big.
Then 200.
Every single one feels big.
But the fact that 1,000 is looming.
Man, I love it.
And as soon as we record that episode, I'm excited.
to let you guys know who it is because yes, yes, it's a big one. And yes, we have some big plans
for episode number 1,000. So hopefully in the next, I'd say three to four weeks, we'll know
who that is. Maybe we will have even recorded that episode and it'll be something that we can
announce. But oh, yeah, I'm excited for it. We got to talk about that CM Punk versus Kevin
known's match recently for the WWE title on Smackdown.
It was nuts, and I was lucky enough to be right there for it.
And what I say right there, I mean right there behind the announced table.
Second row, big thank you to Seekek for the amazing tickets and for sponsoring this episode.

You pulled my card from the latest Topps release, which I still can't believe that's a real
sentence. I collected Topps cards growing up, and now I have a Topps card. I don't know how
this is a real thing, but it is. Had a lot of people sending me messages, can I sign the card?
Of course, I would be honored to sign this card. So if you go to Chrisfanbley.com,

on Instagram says,
CVV,
allow me to converse with you.
I love that.
Let me talk to you.
LA Knight,
yeah,
versus Roman Raines
was the sleeper hit
of the night from him,
money of the bank,
a real masterclass
in building tension
and excitement.
Kudos to both of them
are putting on such a great match.
But where does LA Knight,
yeah,
go from here?
Do you think we'll see him
with a world title
in 2027?
So I was at Money in the Bank in New Orleans. It was a fun night. Also, thank you to everyone who came out the night before. Insight Live on Friday with special guest Raquel Rodriguez. I say this without any sort of hyperbole. She, I think, is the nicest wrestler I've ever met. She is just so sweet. Don't let her gimmick fool you. I mean, it is fooling you because she's just so good at it. She is so, so nice. It was a fun episode. I think you might be seeing that after the
Sammy Zane episode. I believe that's where it's going to be scheduled. But I appreciate that Roman
Raines versus L.A. Knight kicked off the show, which meant there could be no attempt to cash in
because we wouldn't have a money in the bank briefcase holder. If you start off the show with the
world title match, you can't be cashed in on. That is just a brilliant piece of psychology. And I know
it wasn't intentionally done that way, but if you think about it from a character perspective,
that is pretty smart. Before we get in this match, shout out to Byron Saxton, who absolutely
crushed it after Alicia Taylor lost her voice. Alicia Taylor put out on X that she was at the arena,
but unfortunately, she lost her voice and went home, but, man, Byron Saxton delivered.
And he's been a ring announcer in the past. It's no surprise that, of course, he'd be able to do this,
but Byron Saxon is such a Swiss army knife,
like a guy who has the ability to excel in any position that they put him in,
whether it's hosting, commentary, backstage interviews,
or as we sought money in the bank, ring announcing.
So I just, I needed to shout him out for doing such a great job.
And clearly this came together last minute.
So for him to be able to put this together and also not just like be the guy in the corner
who could have been relying on.
cue cards in the ring for the championship style introductions to kick off money in the bank
with L.A. Knight and Roman Raines just goes in there like an absolute boss. Like,
didn't skip a beat. It was so cool to see that. So I think the really interesting part about
Roman Raines versus L.A. Knight is this was L.A. Knight's first singles PLE match this year.
his first singles match in almost three months.
And the crowd was way on his side here.
And I think that we kind of all realized that he probably wasn't going to win this match,
but there were so many moments throughout this match where you're like,
does he have a chance?
Is he going to pull this one out?
Like there were so many 2.99-oh, he kicked out.
And Roman Raines, I think, is the abbey.
best at the absolute last millisecond kickouts there. But L.A. Knight got everything here.
He was bringing everything in this match with Roman Raines. And I think it's without any exaggeration
to say this is the best match of L.A. Knight slash Eli Drake's career. Like this match had it all.
LA night delivering a burning hammer that Roman kicked out of.
Counters the spear into the jumping BFT out of nowhere for an incredible near fall.
Then he survives Roman spear, even delivers a spear of his own.
Then we saw Roman Rain seems to like to use the announce table,
whether he's putting someone through it or he's getting put through it.
I feel like almost every Roman Raines PLE match,
I'm sure there's some exceptions, but almost every Roman Raines PLE match involves the
announce table in some sort of way.
So L.A. Knight power bombs Roman Raines through the announce table quickly, gets him up, puts him
into the ring.
Somehow Roman Raines kicks out there.
And then finally, Roman puts L.A. night away with the Superman punches and then a spear.
And I feel like this is how you book a challenger to lose without making him look like a loser.
Like he was booked strong in this and beyond just the match after the match.
Roman Raines talking about how great of a competitor he was and that this is the next step for him
and really putting L.A. Knight over, which may not have been part of the plan.
L.A. Knight throwing pretty much everything at Roman.
And he looked like a legitimate world champion throughout the match.
to answer your question of where does it go from here?
I don't know.
Like the next obvious storyline here for L.A. Knight is to lean into this tension with
Solo Sacoa and the bloodline rather than just, you know, pretend that this defeat never happened.
And I feel like that then probably leads to giving L.A. Knight a prominent role in the war game
storyline, which is shaping up to be bloodline versus 946.
and what a way to introduce 946 and immediately make them feel like they're at the top of the card,
immediately make them feel important.
And I feel like L.A. Knight in this could be a really unpredictable wild card in this match,
rather than just a guy who's just blending in to the background here.
When you look at L.A. Knight, he's a guy who is so over with the crowd from the second that his music hits,
he can talk he can sell merchandise he has the charisma of a legit main event star and i feel like
at some point wwe needs to reward this connection with the audience with a defining victory as we go
forward in 2026 like to end the year and then we go forward into 2027 the championship picture is going
to be a little bit different i think especially after
WrestleMania. I just don't think you can keep having LA night in these championship opportunities
and not have him win. So I think that where does he go from here? Yeah, he goes into this storyline
with Solo and the Bloodline, but then where does it go from there? Maybe it's a super strong
showing at the Royal Rumble. I still think that Obafemi's going to win the Royal Rumble,
but give him a big storyline that leads from January into that WrestleMania season.
give him something big. I think that L.A. Knight could feel very similar like Sammy Zane,
where he's always towards the top of the card. He's always part of that conversation. And then there's
just going to be a time, I think, that they've got to pull the trigger on him. Because if we were
to have this same conversation four or five months ago, you'd probably be saying, oh, man,
is Sammy Zane ever going to win the big one? Is Sammy Zane ever going to be a world champion?
and here he is as the current undisputed
WWE champion
and also a two-time
WWE champion.
I think the same thing
could happen for LA night.
But we're getting into this
kind of crunch time right now
of like,
are the titles going to change?
I think that the Sammy Zane title,
I think that that one could change.
I still feel like Randy Orton
is going to be the champion
in the next handful of months here.
But I think Roman Reins
is going to be the champion.
be in like all the way into
WrestleMania. And like the way
I'm booking it now and of course
there's a ton of time, half a year
between now and
WrestleMania, which they still haven't announced a date for.
Isn't that a little strange? They still haven't
announced when WrestleMania
43 is going to be.
It's like, it's in
April. Well, when?
Because we'd
like to know. I want to put that on my calendar.
But I digress.
I think it's going to be with my
fantasy booking here, just like looking ahead, big picture. I think it's Obafemi winning the
Rumble. He already called out Roman Rains again, this time after Money in the Bank. I think it's
Obafemi wins the rumble. We get the feud with Roman Rains, leads to WrestleMania, crowning
moment for Obafemi at WrestleMania. That's how I see it now, knock on wood. Let's hope that everybody
stays healthy. But as we look at the rest of the card here, so we go from L.A. 9,
to Roman Raines kicking off the show, strong, kicking off the show, hot.
You go from there to the women's money in the bank ladder match, combining all the words
together here. Tiffany Stratton, Solruca, Lola Vice, Jacey Jane, Roxanne Perez, and Lash
legend. Tiffany Stratton winning is probably the surprise of the night. I think that we still
get to the same destination with Tiffany Stratton's going to cash up.
on Chelsea Green, and I think that we're setting up now that Liv Morgan is the new women's
champion, women's world champion. I think that we get Roxanne Perez turning on her. I think there's
an obvious story there. I think we get to the same destination here, but why couldn't it have been
Roxanne Perez? It just would have made so much sense. Tiffy two times good, but like I don't
feel like she needed the money in the bank briefcase to again get to the same destination of,
I think it's a feud with Chelsea Green that Tiffany Stratton will likely eventually win and
become the WWE champion again. But I think the standout performer from this match has got
to be Sol Ruka. Like, I think she's the breakout performer this match, maybe the breakout performer
of the entire show. But man, what a scary man. What a scary man.
moment for Tiffany Stratton with that swan ton bomb off the ladder.
And she just didn't get caught right.
And her head smacks down on the outside.
Ooh, man.
But the fact that she just, like, got up from that, continued on the match, and seemingly
didn't get hurt.
Amazing to see.
Amazing to see.
I can understand Tiffany winning.
She's a proven star and this gives her another feather in her cap.
but I just don't think she needed this as much as someone like a Roxanne Perez,
like a Solruca.
And I think that money in the bank works best when it transforms someone's career.
When they get that briefcase and you know they're on the cusp of going to that next level.
And we've seen it so many times before in the past.
In fact, we saw it with Tiffany Stratton the first time around when she had the money in the bank briefcase.
I just don't think that she needed it here.
So I'm interested to see how this plays out.
But if my prediction is correct here, it's going to just end us up in the same spot that we were before.
And there's been some missteps, I think, personally, with the Money in the Bank winners slash cash-ins over the last bunch of years.
Austin theory is an obvious one to point to.
Drew McIntyre is another one where Drew McIntyre won it in 2024 in Toronto.
goes to cash in.
CM Punk foils his plan,
continues to deepen the hatred
between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre.
I just don't think that that needed to happen.
I feel like Drew McIntyre
and CM Punk's story would have been the same
and you didn't need Drew McIntyre
winning the match,
cashing in an hour-ish later
and it being basically trampled on by CM Punk.
There's been some of those moments
where it's like,
What about Otis?
Otis right there on the cusp, and it just ends up losing the money in the bank briefcase to the miss.
It was great to see the Miz after all those years got another WWE championship win.
But there's been some missteps here, and I just hope that this isn't one of them.
Speaking of predictions, I was three for five with my predictions.
So I got the Roman Raines match correct.
I got the women's money in the bank ladder match incorrect.
I got Obafemi Bronson Reed.
Correct.
I got the women's world championship match wrong, and I got the men's money in the bank
ladder match.
Right.
So Obafemi, Bronson Reed, just a classic story here of the unstoppable force meets the immovable
object.
Just big, meaty men slapping meat.
It's exactly what this match was.
And as predicted, Obafemi, strong victory here.
I don't think he loses for a while.
I think that he just continues to have these feuds where they're booked strong,
like booked against great opponents,
but I think that Obafemi continues to just keep building this momentum.
And this is a match here that showed that he is a future WrestleMania main eventer.
And I think that they'll continue booking him as such.
Sure, this wasn't the most technically important.
impressive match, but it did something important here. And that was to make Obafemi almost feel unbeatable.
And it feels like they're taking a page directly at a Brock Lesnar's playbook from 20 plus years ago
when he was in his first year in WWE. I think that's what's happening here. And I can't see this
getting derailed in any sort of way. It just, it feels like it's going to be Obafemi,
continuing to pick up win after win after win.
Great promo after great promo after great promo.
As we moved to the Women's World Championship matcher,
I was surprised.
I really thought that Stephanie Vakir was going to hang on to this.
I thought the whole purpose of this match
was just to book Stephanie Vakir to win this match
to retain the championship.
And this was the only championship change of the night.
This is obviously going to say,
up, Liv Morgan, Roxanne Perez. I feel like Tiffany Stratton even kind of hinted at it. If you watch
the post show when she was being interviewed on the desk there, she said, you know, there were a
lot of people cheering for Roxanne. I know she was a favorite, but she's got this thing going with
Liv. What's this thing going with Liv? I guess we're going to see here in the next few weeks.
I think Roxanne continued to have her eye on Liv Morgan's championship, which we saw this
past week. I think that that's going to be a growing trend here. And it's going to finally get to the
point where Roxanne has had enough of Liv Morgan and her annoyingness. And I think that this is
going to create a huge baby face moment for Roxanne Perez when she finally does turn on Live
Morgan and when she finally does become the WWE champion. The men's money in the bank match.
that Penta is just so cool.
Just the aura of that man.
So we have Penta, CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Tric Williams,
Javon Evans, and Braun Breaker.
C.M. Punk and Kevin Owens immediately renewed their hostility here.
That feels like that's a story that's going to continue to be told
in the next few weeks, months here.
Brom Breaker, just unstoppable here delivering all kinds of nasty speech.
years, including sending punk and Owens through the barricade, including the spear to
Javon Evans that had him taken away in the ambulance. And you know when someone gets taken away
in an ambulance that something's going to happen. I don't think that's what I predicted
would happen. I was saying to my friends when we were watching this, I'm like, oh, he's coming back,
right? They don't pull an ambulance. They don't take him away in an ambulance mid-match for that to not
be part of the story.
And sure enough, Javon Evans, not only comes back, he drives the ambulance back into the arena,
sets it up right next to the ring, and that's just a telltale sign for keep your eye on that
ambulance, keep your eye on that object near the ring because something's going to happen.
That was a huge spot.
I feel like everything in the middle of the match was just kind of like focused around.
How can we get Javon up that insanely.
large ladder, comically large ladder.
And then lead to the other moment.
So he goes through the ambulance.
What a reaction from Braun Breaker of like, oh, did I just do that?
Oh, wow.
And then Penta with the Mexican destroyer to Bronbreaker on the ladder, off the ladder to
another ladder.
Oh, man, then get in the briefcase.
What a moment.
But as much as this is the moment for Penta grabbing the briefcase, I think
Bronbroker's the standout here.
Like, he looked like an absolute force of nature.
And I think that this has, like, lit a new fire in him in what he's doing with the storyline
he's in and also just the way that fans perceive him.
Like, Bronbreaker is a beast.
And this match allowed us to see that.
I think for the first time in a while, I think we were able to see him, like, this felt
like the brahmer breaker of six, 12,
months ago. But let's talk about Pentah. I love this decision. This was the prediction that I had.
This is a prediction that a lot of people had. He was the favorite on my bookie. If you went on there and
placed a bet on him, he has the charisma. He has the presentation. He has the experience. Sure, he's
only been in WWE for a year and a half, but the experience throughout his career. He's held championships
all over the world.
But most importantly,
he has this connection with the audience.
They already view him as a main event star.
So it's just a matter of time now
till he actually is that main event star.
And I feel like Money in the Bank
has given him something
that he hasn't really had yet in WWE.
And that is a direct path to the world championship.
And the beautiful thing about this
is he's got from now till next October to cash in.
There's no need to rush this at all.
You could really, really slow play this.
He doesn't even need to be part of that title picture
for the next three, six months.
But just the idea of knowing that he has that,
I think is a really interesting thing.
And it makes Penn to immediately feel important.
So I think coming out of money in the bank, there's like five questions.
Will Penta become the world champion slash when will Penta become the world champion?
Is it going to be a cash in that happens before mania, after mania?
I think that's a big question.
Number two, is Brombreaker being positioned as WWE's next dominant main event heel?
Because his performance in Money in the Bank sure suggests that.
And I think that that breakout moment is a matter of when it happens, not a matter of if it happens.
What's next for L.A. Knight? We talked about that. It's a big thing of like, how does he get back to this position?
Because the guy looks like a million bucks. Like if you were just showing someone who doesn't watch wrestling,
if you showed them L.A. Knight in the ring, you show them the bill that he has. You're like,
that guy's a star. Another question, is Sol Ruka ready for the,
women's world title picture. Maybe not yet, but that's something that's going to happen, I think,
sooner rather than later. And I think that as we get into 2027, she starts to have some more
high profile matches. And this was one of those matches, I think, that really, like, it made a,
like really stamped a moment here in time for her. And I think that that's going to be something
that we're going to look back on and go, that's a point of her career. That's a point of her career.
that was changed because of that money in the bank match.
And then I think the other big question here is,
could Obafemi be Roman Raines next major challenger?
We know we've got Roman Raines versus Sammy Zane
for the Crown Jewel Championship that means really nothing.
It's essentially an exhibition match of champion versus champion.
After that, though, is it Obafemi Roman Raines?
And I feel like it will be teased.
it will be maybe mentioned, then if slash when my prediction comes true and Obafemi wins the
Royal Rumble, yes, then I feel like that is the next major one that ends up happening.
Also, of note and worth pointing out, that Penta made some history here.
He's the first baby face to win the men's money in the bank ladder match since 2021.
That was Big E.
He is only the second Mexican-born wrestler to win the men's money.
Money in the Bank ladder match after a Bordeaux-Dau Rio in 2011, and he's the first masked wrestler
to win the men's Money in the Bank ladder match. Again, big congrats to Penta, which leads us right
into this from Steve Bleeme on Chris Van Vleet.com. Where do you rank Penta's Money in the Bank briefcase
among all of the custom briefcases that we've seen? I know it's early. I know we've only seen the
briefcase for the last five days, but this has got to be number one.
I mean, he has fireworks shooting out of it. It's unbelievable. And I predicted. I was like,
Penta is a merch mover. Penta is just, he's just so cool. They're going to make him a briefcase
that is just unforgettable. And I don't think that anyone could have dreamed up a briefcase that
looked like this and shot Pyro out of it. And they are selling versions on WWE shop that
do not shoot pyro out of it because that'd be a tough thing for them to ship.
But they are selling those.
And I think they're doing pre-orders.
$219.99.
So $220 for Penta's custom money in the bank briefcase.
The pre-orders must be like crazy because it says now like guaranteed delivery by February
first, which I guess we could read into that two ways.
one, and I think this is true, the demand for that is high. It's an item that they really,
they put on there as pre-order, like, let's see how much interest there is. We don't want to make
too many of these if they're not going to sell. Well, obviously, there's a ton of interest there.
Number two, can we read into this, or are we just like reading into this too much if we say,
won't be delivered till February 1st? Does that mean he'll still have the briefcase by then?
but if we're going to rank the custom money in the bank briefcase designs,
I love this pent of one.
Absolutely love it.
I'm also a big fan of RVDs.
The spray paint worked so well for his character too.
I think one that doesn't get talked about enough,
and I don't think it's an underrated design.
I just don't think it gets talked about enough because he had a failed cash in.
Damien Sandow's, they lovingly called it the chocolate bar design.
but it was supposed to look like a briefcase that like a lawyer would take into like a trial with him.
I thought it looked so good and like fit that character just perfectly.
The fact that he cashes in on John Sina unsuccessfully might be why people don't remember it as fondly,
but I just absolutely love it.
And we haven't seen a Money in the Bank briefcase that looks like it since.
almost all the other money in the bank briefcases still have the same structure,
still have the same design, like they're made of the same material.
This one was like a leather bound folder.
I just thought it was so perfect in the way that they put that together.
And Naomi's, like the caution tape on it, which tied so well into her gear and also her gimmick
and her entrance theme, I love that one.
And I can't wait for her to be back.
It feels like it's brewing.
It feels like it's right around the corner.
This 9-4-6 angle here.
I don't know if this was intentional,
but with Bloodline and 9-4-6,
things are simmering here.
It sure feels like she's going to be part of this storyline
in just a matter of time.

That's why intact insurance answers 2 million claim calls per year within 20 seconds.
It's their way of going the extra mile to help.
So instead of hearing this lovely track,
over and over and over. You'll hear this in seconds. Hello, intact insurance. Now that's music to your ears.
Email here from Bill Wheeler who sent this in on Chris Vanfleet.com. I say email because when you fill out the
contact form on Chrisfanfley.com, it sends to me as an email and then I read it from there.
Hey, Chris, real real one here. I'm sitting here watching Money in the Bank. The 946 just pulled away from the bloodline in the parking lot with Miss Parker driving.
What do you think about a first ever mixed tag-style war games match this year with 946 facing the bloodline and a returning Naomi?
I think it could be a game changer for sure.
Keep up the amazing work.
Well, look, Bill, sign me up for this because if Survivor Series isn't going to really mean anything in the grand scheme of storylines or championships, why not shake it up a little bit?
why not like have it be something a little bit different? I think if we're being honest with each other,
that's never actually going to happen, but it would be an interesting change for sure.
Naomi has got to be coming back. That's what this feels like. Again, congrats to Naomi and Jimmy
and take as much time as you want with the little one. What a wonderful addition to your family. I love that.
When you are ready to come back, it sure feels like there is an open spot here. It also
feels like I don't think we can ignore the fact that she was the women's world champion when
she left. She vacated the title. So if she's going to come back, I don't feel like she can just
ignore the fact that she was the champion when she left. She's not going to come back and go,
oh, you guys can have that thing. I don't need that anymore. I'll just focus on this thing that's
happening with my family over here. But with 946 specifically, to borrow a line for
from the great Jim Ross, business is picking up. Well, he says business is about to pick up,
but business has now picked up for 946. Carmelo Hayes joining 946 on Monday, I think is one of the
smartest creative moves that they could have done for Carmelo right now. Like it completely
repackages him, gives him a fresh identity, immediately places him in this storyline that feels
important. It's a main event style storyline, and it makes 946 now a complete faction.
So he appears, he's wearing the bandana, and I am so thankful, so thankful that Carmelo Hayes
was wearing a bandana to cover his face, and he wasn't another guy coming out in a black hoodie.
I think we saw enough black hoodies over the last year, year and a half.
So I'm so glad that he came out with a band-an on his face and we didn't have to see the
endless memes of someone coming out in a black hoodie again. So 9-46, Carmelo Hayes,
I appreciate you for the wardrobe change on that one. But I love that this added a whole new layer
to 9-46 and the growing rivalry they have here with the bloodline. This was a great way to cap
off Monday Night Raw, and just a really good move for Carmelo Hayes.
He hadn't been on WWE television since August 14th when he lost the U.S.
championship match to Baron Corbyn.
And then when he blacked out his image on social media, there was all this speculation
about his future.
Is his contract up?
Is he asking for his release?
Is he going to go somewhere else?
And then all of a sudden, just like that, a few days later, he immediately,
feels relevant again. And I'm really interested to see what a heel mellow looks like. He's done it
before in the Indies, but we've never really seen that side of him on the main roster. It could be
very interesting, especially when you're with this faction that's being treated with such importance
right now. And it also feels like 9-4-6 is like kind of changed overnight. Like, it feels that
It feels like it's a complete group now.
I don't think you need to add any more characters.
I don't think that there needs to be a leader of a leader added to this group.
I don't feel like I saw some people online being like, man, Carmelo Hayes has now been
revealed as the leader of the group.
It's like, he has?
I don't, I don't think that's true.
I think he's just another member of this group.
I think actually Royce Keyes is probably the leader of this group, certainly the powerhouse
of the group.
But you've got a really well-rounded group.
group here. And it'll be very interesting to see how this thing all goes. It's just a matter of time
before there's a championship in this group. I think that for Carmelo Hayes specifically,
joining the 946 is the best thing to happen to his WWA career since his NXT championship run.
And I think that this is going to springboard him to the next big thing, how to the next big thing,
happening in his career and could eventually make him a big single star.
Chris left this comment on Spotify.
Chris, you have a great name.
I've never met a Chris that I don't like.
What if whoever wins money in the bank holds on to it and then wins the rumble?
Then goes to mania and then they lose and their opponent gets beat down and then they cash in
the briefcase for a second title match at WrestleMania.
That would certainly be unprecedented, Chris.
I don't think it feels likely.
I always kind of shake my head,
scratch my head a little bit
when the Money in the Bank briefcase holder
enters the Royal Rumble.
Because it's like,
what are you doing?
You already have a title shot.
I mean,
maybe you want the guaranteed
WrestleMania match,
but you already have a title shot.
I remember Damian Priest entering
the Royal Rumble a few years ago.
I'm like, what are you doing?
There's only 30 people that can enter.
Feels like you're taking a spot away
from somebody else.
who could really use that title shot.
But I also like to point out that the Royal Rumble,
sure, there's 30 men, 30 women in the match.
The match is really made for like six people.
Like everybody else in that matter,
not everybody else in that match,
but the majority of the people in that match
are just there to be in the match.
The story comes down to like,
this person eliminated this person.
Oh, that sets up a story for elimination chamber or something like that.
And then it comes down like, oh, who were the final four?
Who were the final two?
Those seem to be the real stories here.
So the money in the bank briefcase holder entering the Royal Rumble,
I like where you're going with the idea here of like they win the rumble and then
get the title shot at WrestleMania.
Then they lose that.
Then they just go, hey, go grab that briefcase.
I'm not done with this match yet.
Ring the bell again.
It's a great idea. It feels like a, it feels like a WWE 2K storyline.
Michael Quinn on Facebook says, hey, CVV, can we get a real storyline for Chad Gable and the Intercontinental Championship?
Well, I feel like, while he hasn't had like a deep feud here where he's going back and forth with somebody since holding the championship, he's essentially kind of doing an open challenge without calling it an open challenge.
Like, he is continuing this idea, this fact, really, that the Intercontinental Championship is the
Workhorse Championship.
We saw it with Gunther.
We saw it with Penta.
We saw it with Sammy Zane.
We saw it.
We're seeing it now with Chad Gable.
It's the idea that pretty much without fail, you're going to see the Intercontinental Championship
on Raw, and you're going to see the Intercontinental Championship defended on Raw.
And I love that.
I think that with the skill set that Chad Gable has,
if we're going to talk about giving him a storyline
or giving us something to really sink our teeth into,
give us a Chad Gable best of seven.
Oh, baby.
If there was ever anybody who would be perfect
for a best of seven series,
it's Chad Gable.
How good was Suzanne?
Zaharo versus Seamus when they did the best of seven.
And I know we're going back 10 years.
It was 2016 when they did that.
And I know that both guys are no longer with the company.
But when you think about just that like gritty style,
the ability to have great matches with anyone,
yeah, you're talking about people like Seamus.
You're talking about people like Cesarro.
And you're certainly talking about someone like Chad Gable.
So I would love to see that's the direction where this goes.
because you're right.
There's not a quote unquote real storyline
or real feud happening right now.
But I actually like that it's just like,
go out there, whoever comes through that curtain,
let's do it.
Well, I guess that's the open challenge style.
This is more like, hey, two days before,
Chad Gable's going to have a match with Dragonly.
Chad Gable's going to have a match with Penta.
And I know that there's been the common denominator in,
I believe all of these matches is he's facing someone
wearing a mask.
I mean, he won it at SummerSlam from Penta.
Then he had a match against Ray Mysterio,
Unra. He had a match against Dragon Lee.
Unraugh.
He had a match against Ray Phoenix.
Unraugh.
The other common denominator in all four of those matches is
absolute bangers.
Oh, man.
I don't think it can be said enough.
Chad Gable is doing the best work of his career.
Oh, an MVP for sure in the year 2026.
I still have this sneaky feeling that Dragon Lee is the next intercontinental champion.
And I think it's the match that Henta, sorry, that Chad Gable and Dragon Lee had on Raw on Mexico City that I feel like changed WWE's mind.
It certainly changed the perception as far as fans were concerned about Dragon League.
Like they knew he was a talented guy and they'd seen the work he was.
doing, but something has changed in Dragonly, and I feel like he's going to be rewarded. I just,
I just have a sneaky feeling that he's the next intercontinental champion. Sean Radigan sent this
in on Chris Vanfleet.com. He says, hey, CVV, how goes it? My question is, what did you think of
Street Fighter? Personally, I thought it was great and reminded me of how fun movies are in a movie
theater. Sean, it was great to see you at this screening in Atlanta with Cody Rhodes who came out
as Gile. It was so much fun. I thought this movie was a blast. Like this movie is just a fun
theater-going experience. I think capped off by the fact that they gave us the street fighter
Guile popcorn bucket, which it's so ridiculous. It's Gile's hair carved out so you can fill it
with popcorn and my goodness, it fits so much popcorn. I think it might even fit more than a large
bag of popcorn. Because I walked, I didn't know that they were going to be supplying these.
We walked into the theater and they were just like sitting on our seats at the screening. So I had a
popcorn. I was walking into the theater with my bag of popcorn and I'm like, oh my gosh,
there's even more popcorn in this guile popcorn bucket. But that I think capped it off. There was this
great photo because Cody surprised everyone. He introduced a film, came out dressed as Commander
Gile, and then everybody put their gile popcorn buckets on their head, and then he took a photo.
You can see it on Cody's Instagram. Cody's in the foreground, and then everybody in the
theater is wearing their gile popcorn buckets on their head. But it's just a fun movie-going
experience. It is pure nostalgia. Say it with me. Nostalgia. Say it with me. Nostal.
is a hell of a drug.
It takes you right back.
If you're around my age,
it takes you right back to playing
that video game in the 90s.
The movie is set in the 90s
and has a great soundtrack
that brings you,
it transports you right back to that time.
But fun characters,
tons of action.
I thought it was a blast.
This is what you go to the theater for.
You go there to just have a fun time.
And that's exactly what this movie is.
This movie is a fun time.
Cody Rhodes knocks it out of the park here.
And I know he's told many stories about how Gile was originally just going to be a very small part of the film.
Gile ends up having a lot of scenes and actually delivers some of the funniest one-liners.
There's a scene with Andrew Schultz's character where Andrew Schultz character says something like,
oh, you know, you're lucky there's so much oxygen between us.
and then Cody Rhodes, like, sucks all the oxygen out between him and Schultz.
It's a funny moment.
I don't want to ruin too much, but it's a great scene.
Cody has a lot of great scenes.
Roman Raines looks like a beast in this, and he's kind of a through line.
His character is a through line throughout the film, and then when you finally do see Roman
Raines, like there's this big payoff for that character, but I had a blast, and it just, it
brought me right back.
to being 15, 16 years old.
I specifically loved playing Street Fighter 2 tournament edition on Sega Genesis.
I don't know why I said tournament edition.
I think I was thinking of NBA Jam, Street Fighter 2 champion edition.
But it was cool seeing the signature moves or like,
Hedukin's a really big part of the storyline and the power of that from Ryu.
I love the film.
I thought it was a blast.
I've now seen it twice because.
I enjoyed it so much.
Saw it once before the interview with Cody Rhodes
to just kind of get a feel for his role in the film
and his character.
And then I saw it later that day
after the interview with Cody Rhodes.
A blast.
If you're seeing it this weekend,
see it on the biggest screen
that you can see it on.
And if you're,
if you really want to level up,
grab the guile popcorn bucket.
Just sheerly for the silliness of it.
The Black LaBalauce
sent this in on Spotify.
Yo, CVV!
I love your content
and your positivity.
You are definitely on my Mount Rushmore
of podcasters.
I am honored.
Thank you.
Speaking of which,
what is your Mount Rushmore
of rage baiters in WWE?
Who are the guys and gals
who are naturals
at winding up the crowd
and winding their opponents up?
Keep up the excellent work.
Well, I think if you're going to talk
about rage baiters in
WWE, you got to
mention Drew McIntyre.
Like that guy, I think, just
has the ability to take
one little line
and like really
drive that into somebody.
Really make it feel
personal, especially the stuff
that he was doing with CM Punk.
But also like
burger after burger
is going to be something we will
forever remember Drew
and Seamus for, but I think that Drew McIntyre just has a way with words.
Also the fact that he's a heel, his character's a heel, but he says a lot of things that just
feel true.
And he said to me during our last interview, this is the one that aired like six months ago,
he said, oh, you call me a heel, but he's like, I will debate anybody.
I'll debate anybody about this.
What are the heel things I do?
all the things I'm doing come from a good place.
It's like, oh, that's interesting.
I think you also got to talk about,
we already mentioned him, CM Punk.
CM Punk is a wizard on the microphone.
I mean, he cost Drew championships.
He mocked his injuries.
He made their feud feel very personal.
I feel like Drew still mentioned CM Punk to this day,
mentioned him during the interview that's going to air on Tuesday.
I think CM Punk, I think about the stuff with John Cena,
the pipe bomb in 2011.
I don't know if this gets mentioned a lot,
but like the focus of that is kind of John Sina.
Like John Sina is the one who's laid out in the ring
while C. M. Punk is cutting this promo.
Like John Sina was the fuel to that
and C. M. Punk just took it and ran with it
and blurred the lines completely
between fiction and reality.
Think about the stuff that C.M. Punk did with the rock
and like moving the needle
during their rivalry in 2013
and making those exchanges
feel like really personal.
The stuff with Jeff Hardy,
I feel like I'm going to name
every CM Punk feud at this point.
But the stuff with Jeff Hardy
talking about his addiction,
stuff with Seth Rawlins
and the animosity between them.
So yeah, we got to talk about
CM Punk being a rage baiter,
mostly with his opponents,
not so much with the audience,
but if you are going to talk about
someone with the audience,
it's Liv Morgan.
like on the current roster,
she is an expert at getting under someone's skin,
both her opponents and the audience.
Like the audience loves to hate Liv Morgan.
And in her storyline,
she just has this innate ability to push emotional buttons.
Like, think about her rivalry with Ria Ripley.
The mocking laugh,
Liv Morgan's laugh is like,
cackle. Her exaggerated confidence, like the way that she says that she's the greatest,
oh man, it's all just, it's just, it gets under your skin. And she's like, she's a phenomenal agitator.
That's what Liv Morgan is. She is an agitator. I mean, she is the greatest.
WWE women's world champion of all. You get the point. Time.
you want to talk about somebody else who gets under the skin of the fans who just really
annoys them, Dominic Mysterio.
Like, and I know it's a different kind of heat, but he's the king of effortless heat.
He gets booed before Yobie even opens his mouth.
Sometimes he's not even able to cut a promo because the crowd is so loud.
the smug smile, the just cowardly antics, the disrespect towards the great Ray Mysterio.
I think that his best talent is making fans feel like they just can't stand him.
And I feel like if you're going to talk about rage baiter,
Dominic Mysterio, just like his presence is enough to get
people upset. Like there's lots of other people that could be added to the list, but I want to
switch it up here, a little bit of personal attacks, a little bit of blurring the lines, a little bit
of being annoying, a little bit of just like old-fashioned heat. Miz, I think's another one.
You give Ms. 90 seconds with the mic. You give Ms. 19 seconds with the mic, and he will find a way
to make you hate him. Grayson Waller's also going to be another one of those.
Jason Waller, you give him any length of time to cut a promo
and he is going to piss you off.
And he's also going to make you go, wait a second.
Does he mean that?
Is that a story?
Or is it not?

Man, thank you, Cody.
I love it.

You're welcome.

Question.
What was your first ever live event?
Me, I used to sneak into PCW in Winnipeg at Dylan O'Connor's to watch Kenny Omega.
I love that.
My brother-in-law was talent, and I used to help him set up the ring before the show started.
That's a great story.
I love that as a fellow Canadian, too.
My very first wrestling show, I've answered.
this before, but it's been a while, so I feel like, let's talk about it again because it's crazy
when you look at this card. So my very first wrestling show was a WWF house show March 3rd, 2000 at Skydome.
The fact that there was a house show at Skydome tells you how massive wrestling was during the year
2000 and the years around that as well, but during the attitude era, Skydome now called Rogers
Center, where the Toronto Blue Jays play is the home of WrestleMania 6 and WrestleMania 18.
So think of a house show being inside a stadium that was the same place that held WrestleMania.
I will point out it was not full in there. It was probably not even half full in there.
So maybe there was 20,000 fans there. I don't know. I'm just guessing. I don't think there's an actual
official attendance for it, but still, the fact that there was a house show inside Skydome is pretty
crazy. Listen to this card. Test defeated Midian. Prince Albert defeated DeLo Brown. Dean Malenko and
Perry Saturn defeated too cool. The Road Dog defeated Thrasher. Rikishi defeated Chris Benoit. Christian
defeated Crash Hawley. Edge defeated the big boss man. The Dudley boys defeated the Hardy boys
to retain the WWF World Tag Team Championship.
Kurt Engel defeated Chris Jericho
to retain the WWF European Championship
and the WWF Intercontinental Championship,
the Eurocontinental Champion.
Remember when Kurt Engel had both?
And then in the main event,
Triple H defeated Kane and the Big Show
and the Rock in a fatal four-way match
to retain the WWF World Heavyweight Championship.
And I remember, even though the Rock lost that match,
The Rock stayed in the ring and talked to the crowd for another 15, 20 minutes on the mic was singing to the crowd, interacting with the crowd, just like pure entertainment.
And it was just a blast.
So crazy to look at that card, 26 and a half years later, at just the amount of talent on there.
Also, interesting to see who's still wrestling?
who's still wrestling in this group of people here.
A handful of them.
Rock hasn't officially retired.
Big Show hasn't officially retired.
Chris Jericho's still doing his thing.
The Dudley Boys did retire.
I feel like Bubba has not retired.
The Dudley Boys as a team have retired.
Matt and Jeff still doing their thing.
Edge is still doing his thing.
Although, as you are well aware,
Edge just announced on Wednesday.
Adam Copeland announced on Wednesday that 2027 will be his last year in professional wrestling.
We don't know what that looks like yet. We don't know if that's a full year-long retirement tour,
but he is saying that like basically saying enjoy this while it's happening. And I think he's
also saying to himself, like, I'm going to enjoy this while it's happening. I'm going to be
as present as I can be. But what a legend and what a career. And I just love.
love the fact that he was forced into retirement.
Edge had to retire because of injury,
because of his neck injury.
And now he's able to retire on his own terms 15 years later.
So 2011, forced to retire, 2026,
announcing his retirement on his own terms.
Man, you love that.
Love it.
I don't know why it's like,
it's like making me emotional.
thing about that, but I just appreciate that so much. So that's my first ever
WWE show. I also went to quite a few AWF shows, Apocalypse, Wrestling Federation,
a cactus peats in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. And I know you didn't ask, but I feel like it's
kind of part of the conversation. My very first concert I went to, this is very Canadian,
was Great Big C. I went with my best friend from high school, Mark Teggi. We went to
see Great Big Sea at Massey Hall in Toronto. What was your first concert? I was 16 when I went to that.
So it was like an excursion. Took the go train downtown, went and walked to Massey Hall,
enjoyed the show. We sat in like the absolute last row with like all the way in like the right
hand corner. Could barely see anything. But we're singing along to all these great big sea songs.
what a blast.
And I also understand that referencing Great Big C is going to be something that like six people listening to this are going to understand.
So for those six people, I appreciate you.
Now I'm like now this on consequence free or run, run away or Mary Mac is stuck in my head.
Again, very especially East Coast Canadian reference.
Wise Mo 86 on.
Twitter says, I have a question for Ask CVV number 157.
Who would you put in an attitude era money in the bank match and who would win?
You know, I love these hypothetical questions.
So I would set this around the year 2000.
I would put it with the traditional eight people in the match.
All right.
I'm going to deliberately, before we get it, I'm going to deliberately leave out.
Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H, and Undertaker, because they're already established main event stars.
I'm thinking here, especially when Money in the Bank was created in 2005, the whole idea here
was about creating the next main event star. So don't say, why isn't Stone Cold that match if we're
going to talk about the attitude era? That is exactly why. So are you ready for this attitude era
money in the bank lineup? Jeff Hardy, for obvious reasons. Edge, also for obvious
reasons. Christian. Matt Hardy. Smashes already so good. Rob Van Dam, and I'm going to slightly
cheat with the timeline because I know he didn't arrive in WWE till 2001, so maybe we moved this
match to 2001. Fuck, I mean, come on, RVD. Chris Jericho. And then maybe we have to shift
this back because he was a main event star in 2001, but he was the guy who, one of the people who
came up with the idea of money in the bank. So I'm going to put Chris Jericho in there as
maybe this is what helps in a breakthrough to the main event.
Kurt Angle.
And one spot left, Eddie Guerrero.
What a match.
Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Christian, Rob Van Dam, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Christian.
Wow.
And I think if we're going to set this around 2000-ish, cash in on Triple.
age. Maybe it's Chris
Jared. Now, I just, this is
a thing about like, revisionist
history. I love the way that
Chris Jericho beat Rock
and Stone Cold in the same night and
had both the championships. I love that.
I love how he became the undisputed champion with
both titles telling that story.
So I don't know if his
first title wins should be
cashing and money in the bank, but
that's the match. I don't even care who wins.
Give me those eight people.
give me the car crash.
Sign me up for that thing.

I heard this quote from Obafemi during the post show.
And I wrote it down because I loved it so much.
He said it's a common phrase that he heard growing up.
If you fail to learn, you learn to fail.
Powerful.
Be great.
Be grateful.
