That intro just gets me so pumped up inside with Chris Van Bleet.
How are you, my friends?
So good to see you.
Welcome back to another one here on Insight.
I'm CVV, Chris Van Fleet.
Thank you for joining us on an Ask CVV and not just any AskCTVV.
It is AskCV number 31, the Reggie Miller edition.
Also the Mike Piazza edition.
if you're into baseball, and for all of my fellow NHL fans out there,
going with a deep cut here, the Grant Fure Edition.
Oh, yeah, so good.
Welcome to Ask CVV number 31.
I always love hearing from you guys, like who should the number be associated with.
And for next Fridays, Ask CVV number 32.
We've got a lot of options there.
A lot of legends wore number 32.
So send me a message, or better yet, if you're listening on Spotify,
Spotify, drop it in the Q&A section.
I love reading through those.
It's always so cool.
So if you're listening to this on Spotify,
just respond to that question on there.
What did you think of this episode?
And tell me,
what should ask CVV number 32B?
And also, if you have a question for it,
drop it in there as well.
Thank you for being with us.
And thank you as always for following the show,
wherever you're listening,
whether it does happen to be spot.
or it's Apple Podcasts or wherever it is.
We're climbing the charts.
Undertaker, we're right on your heels.
We are close to being the number one wrestling podcast in the world.
And I don't want to say, I don't want to say that we have an interview coming up with
The Undertaker.
But what I am going to say is how cool would it be to do a long, extended interview with The Undertaker?
in, let's say, I don't know, June in, I don't know, let's say, Austin, Texas, where the
Undertaker lives with his wife, Michelle McCool.
I'm just, I don't know, I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I'm saying how cool
would that be if it happened.
And if you were following the show, you would certainly be the first one to know when, I mean,
if that were to happen.
Thank you for sending in all of the questions that you've sent in.
these are always so fun.
I just imagine, like, as I'm sitting here recording this, I'm imagining you.
Maybe you're going for a walk or maybe you're working out or you're heading to work or whatever
you happen to be doing.
I imagine, like, it's literally me and you hanging out.
And that's what's so cool about just the medium of podcasting in general.
And the amount of questions we got for this one was hard to narrow it down.
I think we narrowed it down to 17 is it?
16, 17 questions?
Hard to narrow it down.
Got a lot of similar-ish questions,
so we lumped those ones together.
But these are always so fun.
If you have a question for the next one,
drop it in the question section on Spotify.
Use that hashtag Ask CVV on social media
or email it in CVV at chrisfamfleet.com.
We'll start with this one from Sam Pute on Facebook.
Cody Rhodes versus Logan Paul,
at King of the Ring? Really? Oh, that's the question. That's the whole question. Yes. Really. It looks like
we are lining up for Cody Rhodes versus Logan Paul at King of the Ring. And what I find so interesting
is that on one hand, you've got people that complained so much. Roman Raines never defended the championship.
He defended the championship like four times a year. It just doesn't feel like a real title reign.
How can we even count 1,316 days when he barely defended it?
And now on the other hand, you've got Cody Rhodes, who is such a fighting champion.
Cody Rhodes is working on Raw and SmackDown and live events and defending the championship
left and right.
And now you've got people that are saying, or it just doesn't mean anything.
He's just defending it all the time and you know he's going to win.
I love that he's a fighting champion.
I love that if you're paying money to go to a live event,
pretty good chance you're going to see Cody Rhodes there.
So I'm a big fan of, I mean, everyone poo-poohed on Cody Rhodes versus AJ Stiles.
And then we got not only those incredible entrances with that crowd in Leon,
France, singing along the kingdom.
And then that amazing chant when AJ got in the ring there.
I mean, he is phenomenal.
But we got, according to Dave Meltzer, a five-star match.
So I'm not going to have any problems at all with Cody Rhodes defending the championship against anybody.
Here's what I think is happening here with this Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul thing.
It has been widely reported for a long time that when the WWE goes to Saudi Arabia,
Saudi Arabia has a bit of a say in.
who's going to be on the card and who's going to be in the main event.
I mean, it's the reason we got Logan Paul versus Roman Raines
with that amazing move where Logan Paul's on the top rope
with the iPhone, you know, the frog splash through the table was crazy.
That's the reason we got that match because I think that they're,
they must be big Logan Paul fans over there or maybe they're big prime fans
or maybe a little bit of both.
I feel like they have a say like, oh, we're paying this insane amount of money.
for WWE to come over here.
With that, we would also like to request this match or that match.
And I'm sure you saw the story years ago,
like when they did one of the first crown jewel events over there,
apparently they wanted, I don't know, what was it exactly?
Was it they wanted Yoko Zuna or under the giant or both of them?
They were like, oh, if we're going to do this event here,
those are some of the people that we want.
And it's like, well, we'd love to make that happen.
But you see, we might be, you know, just a handful of years or decades too late.
I'm making that happen.
So I think that we're getting Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul because of some sort of outside influence there.
It's going to be wildly entertaining.
I really truly believe that say what you want about Logan Paul, whether you love him or you hate him,
you can't deny that he's insanely athletic and feel like he was put on this earth to be a
professional wrestler. And every time that he's in a big match, he always does something that makes
for a viral moment. It reminds me so much of what Shane McMahon would do, where, you know,
Shane was going to go to a match and he might not walk out victorious. And I don't think that
anybody thinks that Logan Paul is going to beat Cody Rhodes for the WWE undisputed championship
in Saudi Arabia, King of the Ring. But we do know there's going to be a moment there. He's going to
to find something, whether it's meeting in the middle of the ring with ricochet like he did
at the Royal Rumble, whether it's drawing inside the elimination chamber pot, there's going to be
something there that's going to end up going viral and getting tens of millions, if not hundreds
of millions of views. So at the end of the day, it's going to be wildly entertaining. So whether
you like the match on paper or not, that match will deliver. And then who knows,
is maybe it sets something up for SummerSlam.
I'm not saying it's going to be Cody versus Logan at SummerSlam,
but maybe it sets something up independently for them.
I really think Cody's going to hang on to the championship for another bunch of months,
and I think that we're going to get into a feud,
maybe that lasts more than a few weeks.
And again, I love Cody so much,
and I love how much he defends the championship.
I think we're going to get a feud maybe towards Survivor Series.
that we can really sink our teeth into with Cody Rhodes.
And there's quite a few options on the table there.
And of course, there's the looming possibility.
Whenever Roman reigns comes back, that's there.
And that's going to happen, I think,
unless it ends up being Roman versus Rock,
because Roman's out for a long time,
it doesn't come back till around WrestleMania next year.
But we will see.
So to answer your question, really?
Yes.
Really? And it's going to be great.
This episode is brought to you by Doer.

Saul Monrique on Facebook says,
do you find it odd that WWE hasn't revisited the Cody Rawlins rivalry?
Before Cody left with his torn peck injury, Seth attacked him with a sledgehammer to send him off.
I find it weird that they never revisited that when Cody returned from his injury.
Do you think they will circle back around to it or just keep pretending that it never happened?
They'll for sure circle back around to this.
But I think we need to give a little bit more context here.
Cody had that match with Seth Rollins, another Dave Meltzer five-star match, by the way,
at Helen Assal.
That match was in
2022, and then Cody's
next match after that,
the next time we saw him wasn't until
the Royal Rumble, 2023.
Then he won that match,
and he made it very clear
that he wasn't interested
in the World Heavyweight Championship.
He made it very clear that
Roman Raines was his focus,
and then that took us into
WrestleMania, and then after
WrestleMania, we had some hard times there.
had to get back on track that led us into the Brock Lesnar feud. And then Seth was already tied up
doing other things. When we did come back around to acknowledging that Seth and Cody even exist
together in the WWE world, it ended up being, oh, these guys are going to work together, right?
Who knows Roman better than one of his shield brothers? Oh, then look, well, can I trust you? I don't
know. Let's see what happens. So yeah, they'll come back around on this. But right now, those are two
very hot baby faces. So I feel like one of them's going to have to turn heel at some point here.
I would think maybe it's Seth, but yeah, they're going to come back around to this one for sure.
And my hat's off to Seth for all of the hard work that he put in, working through injury,
doing everything that he did at WrestleMania. Have you seen this shot where he takes the
Superman punch? It's a fan angle. Like it's someone shot this on.
their phone. Have you seen the shot, like the video, and Seth's knee just bends in a way that a knee
really shouldn't bend. So I hope that Seth Rollins takes the time to get right back to 100% and enjoys the
time with his wife and his daughter. And when he's ready to go, let's get ready to see some magic
again. So yeah, we'll come back around to that. At some point in time, I just don't think it's
anytime soon.
Nikki the Good on Twitter.
What's up, Nikki?
How many plain black t-shirts
do you own?
A lot.
Thank you.
I appreciate you.
I appreciate you pointing this out
and let it everybody know
that I'm usually wearing
if it's not a plain black t-shirt,
it's a plain white t-shirt.
And if it's not a plain white t-shirt,
it's a plain light-gray t-shirt.
And so I love wearing
in the plain black t-shirts and didn't actually think anyone would notice.
And that's kind of the reason I wear them.
I want to be like kind of inconspicuous and fly under the radar.
And it's not every time.
Every once in a while I'll wear a fun t-shirt or I'll wear a button-up shirt or
some sort of a sweater or maybe it's a cool guy jacket or something.
Those jackets that I have worn like the one I wore in the John Cien interview.
I got that on Amazon for like 2999 or 20.
something very inexpensive like that. Those things look great, though. It really dresses up any
outfit, too. You can get them in so many different colors. But the reason I wear the plain black
t-shirts and the ones that you see me wear most of the time are from Jordan Craig. They've been
such a great partner of the show. Use the code. CVV-20. You'll save 20% yet 20% off your order
at jordancrag.com. And they've got a great t-shirt pack. It's a white, gray, and black t-shirt
pack on there of three t-shirts for one nice low price. The reason I do it is I don't want to
take any focus away from what's actually going on in the conversation. If I'm wearing some big
bright shirt or some graphic t-shirt that has all kinds of writing on it, you're not focusing
on what I'm talking about there, what I'm saying. You're focusing instead, your focus is off of
the conversation and your focus is now on the shirt. What's that shirt say? What I can't, the
Mike's kind of in the way. What does that say? I never want that to be the case. I want the focus
to always be on the conversation so that we can be present and in the moment. This is if you're
watching on YouTube, of course. And the other thing is for any of the ad reads that I do, any of the
advertisements that we do on YouTube, I'm not ever going to wear another brand at all because
I want the focus to be on my bookie or NordVPN or Jordan Craig or Arena Club or whatever it happens to be.
because if I'm talking about one company
and then advertising another company on my shirt
that's taking away from whoever our partner is
for that episode or for that month
or if it's NordVPN, I mean, they've been with us for years now.
Use the code CVV or go to Nordvn.com slash CVV.
That's really the only reason.
I love wearing black shirts and white shirts
and gray shirt.
I guess it's just really those colors of shirts.
It's love wearing shirts.
I don't know.
Like the opposite of a wrestler who, you know,
walks around and cuts promos with no shirt,
that's really the main reason.
How many do I own?
According to my wife,
way too many.
Like, if you look in my closet,
it's not just plain black t-shirts,
just t-shirts in general.
I have two shelves full of them.
I probably have,
oh, man,
120 different t-shirts and I definitely need to purge some of those and shirts I haven't worn in
years, get rid of them, but you know, I'm sure you can relate to this. There's some, there's just
some feelings tied to it, right? There's some nostalgia there. Oh, I remember that shirt.
How could I get rid of that shirt? I wore that to this thing or that reminds me of this or that.
So I find myself wearing the same 10 or 12 shirts all the time, but I've got.
far too many in there, but that's the reason I'm frequently wearing a plain black shirt or a plain
white shirt. That's really what it comes down to. Also, this is, we're really breaking the
fourth wall here. You can, for social media, I do those vertical videos, reels, TikToks,
shorts, depending on the platform you're watching them on. The captions show up so much better
on a black shirt. So if I'm wearing a black shirt and you've got those yellow or white captions,
they show up so much better on a black shirt. So there we go. I've just, I've just told you all my
secrets now. But there you go, Nikki. You're a good man. And I appreciate you sending that in on
Twitter. Stephen Riley on Instagram says, everyone always talks about the good old days of wrestling. But
what's something from this current era of wrestling that you wish existed in the 90s?
That's a good one.
And it's funny because people are always talking, like nostalgia is such a powerful drug.
And I've talked a lot about that.
Recency bias is also an equally powerful drug.
But we love to look at things as wrestling fans and go, oh, that's not as good as this thing from 20 years ago.
Or that's not as good as this thing from 10 years ago.
Here's something that I wish existed back then that we have now.
singing entrance songs,
fans singing entrance songs to be more specific.
Could you imagine how good some of these
WrestleMania entrances could have been
if fans were singing the entrance theme?
Could you imagine a Sean Michaels
WrestleMania entrance
if when the music stopped,
the fans can continue to sing another verse?
I'm not your boy, toy, boy, toy.
that just wasn't a thing that existed back then.
How good would the entrances for Hulk Hogan be?
Hulk Hogan, brother,
if the crowd continued to sing Real American when he got into the ring.
That's something that really didn't even exist a few years ago.
And I'm glad that that's found its way into wrestling.
Fun dongo a little bit, right?
Fans were singing the do-do-do-do-do.
Those weren't lyrics, though.
It was a fun sound.
Shinske Nakamura, again, singing the sound of the song, but I really think it was Jericho's
entrance theme. The fans singing Fawzzi's Judas, and now it's turned into fans singing
Cody's entrance theme. And then when we saw in France at Backlash, fans singing Randy Orton's
theme, fans singing AJ's theme, like, we know the lyrics, we listen to these songs all the time.
A lot of us are working out to them.
we know the lyrics and start singing along to them.
So that's something that I wish existed back then.
I just picture how good some of these entrances could have been if we had had fans doing
that back then, but that wasn't a thing that existed then.
It's a thing that exists now.
That would have been cool.
Boder moat 97.
You boater moten, Sessel B.
Well, reference to wedding crashes there.
boat remote 97 on Twitter says, hey, CVV, I used to watch you when you were on Channel
19 in Cleveland, and I'm excited to hear that you'll be back in the land for SummerSlam.
Where exactly did you live in Cleveland?
We call Cleveland the land.
I lived in the Bingham.
So on West 9th Street, I lived in the Bingham for the entire time that I lived in Cleveland
and worked at Channel 19.
And the Bingham's part of the warehouse district.
And just one block over, we would walk through the out.
alleyway over to West Sixth Street. West Sixth Street is the street if you are planning to do any
drinking or partying or any sort of shenanigans in Cleveland during SummerSlam week or weekend.
I've frequented the Barley House quite a lot. And I also went to the Velvet Dog rooftop.
I mean, there's a lot of spots. Blind Pig. We went to a lot of spots on West Sixth Street.
But that was where I lived.
It was like a five-ish minute drive to work at Channel 19, which is right downtown.
Channel 19 is on, it's on 12th Street, east 12th Street.
So really close.
I was actually, I was in Cleveland when they were filming the first Avengers movie.
Cleveland doubled as New York for that movie.
Fun fact, if you weren't aware of that.
And we were on 12th Street and on, or East 12th Street, where our work was.
and on East 9th streets where they filmed
like that massive fight scene
that happens during Avengers.
So I would like pop out during my lunch break
and just like check out the props that were on set.
Like from what you could see from like, you know,
afar, obviously.
And we sometimes see some of the filming going on.
So that's where I lived in Cleveland.
And I just love Cleveland so much.
I can't wait to be back in Cleveland.
And for all of my fellow Ohioans,
I'm just excited to,
see you guys. Oh, H. And then everybody says I-O. That's the thing when you live in Ohio.
Oh, H. Thank you. Said it there. Appreciate you. Nicholas Dial emailed this one and he said, as fans,
sometimes the only mark we can leave on wrestling history is to get behind that hard cam to immortalize
ourselves on that show or pay-per-view or PLA. For me, it was going to SummerSlam 2020 in Nashville.
My wife highly encouraged me to go since it's not every day.
SummerSlam is just a few hours down the road.
I got to see myself in my bright pink New Day shirt,
a big pink sign on top of the on the top right of the hard cam.
Do you have any shows that you go back to where you can see yourself in the crowd?
Thank you, CVV.
Man, that's cool.
I love that you can go back and you are part of history forever.
I was there in SummerSlam.
I've been to the last, I guess, several SummerSlam.
I was there, but you will not see me on camera there.
I guess recently, you will see me if you watch the TNA Hard to Kill Paperview,
front row.
And there's a moment, there's a moment during Moose versus Alex Shelley, which is the main event,
Moose wins the championship.
There's a moment where, and I guess I'll break the fourth wall again here,
Moose got me the tickets.
Moose got me fantastic tickets.
Me and my buddy Chris were sitting front row.
And they were Moose's seats that he very kindly gave to me.
And there's a moment where Moose comes over to that area.
He knocks Shelley down to the ground on the outside.
And I go to Dap, I got to give Nucks to fist bump, Moose.
And he looks at me with this look of just utter disgrace.
Like, who are you?
and I quickly turned it from a fist bump into like,
ah, I'm pointing at you.
Like, hey, look at you.
Yeah, you're doing that thing.
It will not be hard to miss if you go check out that clip.
So that's, I guess, one of the most recent ones that you'll see.
And I got tagged on Twitter from a bunch of people like,
hey, did I just see CVV on the crowd and hard to kill?
Yeah, you saw me.
No one seemed to notice that he, like, completely shot down my fist bump.
And I turned it into like a, hey, look, I'm a,
pointing at you.
You, yeah, do that thing again.
You, if you really look hard,
WrestleMania 18, you can see the back of my head.
And I'm sitting with my buddies, Trev and Greg,
when we went to WrestleMania 18, Skydome, Toronto.
It wasn't shot in HD, though.
So you're really having to search real long and hard to see that one.
But yeah, I mean, I think there's some other ones.
There's certainly some other ones.
but here's another kind of behind the scenes,
little tidbit of info,
when you get the tickets,
like media tickets,
so I've been so fortunate to be able to cover
Royal Rumble and Survivor Series
and the last few WrestleMania's,
most of the time you're sitting in the press box.
And obviously the camera's not going to catch that.
The times when there is no press box,
like Survivor Series,
you're sitting on the,
hard cam side. So you're like right next to the hard cam. So there is like a zero percent chance that
you're going to be on camera because the cameras are next to you and they're looking out. They're
certainly not looking directly to the right or left or behind them. They're looking out. So most of the
time when you're getting those tickets from WWB and, you know, I feel so grateful to have had the
opportunity to have some of those tickets. You're on the hard cam side so you're not being seen.
but go check out TNA Hard to Kill and take a picture of your TV and tag me.
It's a funny moment.
But Nicholas, that's pretty cool.
Pretty cool that you're part of SummerSlam 2020 forever and ever and ever.
Connor Goodman added this on Spotify.
Again, this is my new favorite thing is seeing the comments on Spotify.
I think that episode with Adam Copeland got like 40 something comments.
comments. And the most comments or questions we had before that was like 25. So that was cool. Can we,
can we beat 40 comments on this episode on the Reggie Miller, Mike Piazza, Grant Fier edition of Ask CVV?
And my gut says we probably can. So let's do that. Connor Goodman said, question for AskCV.
Who was your childhood hero growing up? And when are you going bass fishing again? I love that you're
into fishing. I had a few childhood heroes. Obviously, my dad's a huge hero of mine and my mom as well,
and the fact that they're still together celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this October,
October 26th of this year, they're my heroes for that. And they're just such a great example
of companionship and love and patience and understanding. Dirk and Helen. That's my parents' names.
Dirk and Helen.
There's 0% chance you're watching this,
but I just want you to know I love you guys.
In wrestling,
my childhood heroes,
The Rock, for sure, and Triple H.
Those were my two favorites
for completely different reasons.
I love the intensity that
Triple H would bring to every match.
I was such a huge fan
when he really found his own
and, like, as that heel run
with China
and then Steph and the
McMahon Helmsley regime and the new entrance theme.
If first it was one, two, is this on?
Yeah, that's one, two is this on.
I always like to point out.
And then it turned into the motorhead entrance theme, the game,
everything else that came after that.
And then for The Rock, it's just the charisma that he had.
And the way that he was able to turn fairly mundane promos and fairly mundane situations
into like absolutely memorable and electrifying segments.
So those are my two heroes.
What am I going bass fishing again?
I'm back home in Ontario next month.
One of my best friends from high school is getting married.
And the day after the one, so he's getting married, this is so funny.
My friend who's getting married is huge into fishing.
That's actually the thing that made us become best friends when we were like 14.
I randomly got a phone call on, we were on the same wrestling team together.
He's, you know, we were just friends.
We were like high school friends, like acquaintances.
You know what I'm talking about.
And on opening day of trout season, I went fishing when I was 14.
And I came home.
And I think my mom was like, oh, you had a missed phone call from Basel.
I'm like, Basil.
Oh, wow.
Like, it didn't realize we were on that level.
And I called him back.
He's like, oh, yeah, I just looked in the phone book and called your parents' house
and figured you might want to go trout fishing because this trout season opener.
Cool.
Oh, man.
So he's getting married on Bass opening day.
So, I mean, that shows that he has true love for his fiance and his future wife.
So his wedding's on Saturday, which is Bass Opener.
It's the fourth Saturday of every month.
So it's June 22nd is his wedding.
The next day, I'm meeting up with my other good fishing buddy, Aaron, who is,
my partner in Wu Tung-W-Tungsten, the Tungsten Fishing Weight Company that we own together.
That's the next time I'm going bass fishing.
Meeting up with him, I think we're going to go to either Lake Simco or Lake Coochiching,
maybe Bass Lake, but somewhere around the Orillia area, if you're familiar with Ontario,
that's the next time we're going bass fishing.
I can't wait to throw like a top water.
Watch that big explosion.
Can't wait to throw a drop shot.
of course with some Wu tungsten weights.
And that'll be the end of the bass fishing segment for today's AskCTVV episode.
I love how it always seems to come back around a bass fishing and my inner geek when it comes
to fishing really starts to come out.
This one was also left on Spotify.
John Michael said Chris,
I have only been following for about three months now,
but I listen to the podcast at work and it helps my days go by.
do you have a favorite moment in WWE since
WrestleMania 40?
Thank you.
I have not thought about it in that way.
My favorite moment you're basically saying John Michael in the last six weeks.
It's to come down to a favorite moment.
I'll give you a favorite moment in match and they're kind of tied together.
My favorite moment in the last six weeks is a moment that I know will truly live on forever.
It's a moment that we'll live on in WWE, history.
and it's AJ Stiles entrance.
That's one of those moments that for me,
like, it stands the test of like,
even if you're not a wrestling fan,
even if you have no idea who AJ Stiles is
or why he's wrestling Cody Rhodes in this main event match,
you can show that clip to someone who's not a wrestling fan
and they'll go, oh, that's cool.
That's, I mean, that was cool.
I don't know how AJ Stiles didn't break character.
Well, I do know how,
because he's a consummate professional.
and one of the very best to ever do it.
But that's my favorite moment.
That might be one of my favorite moments
in the last, not just six weeks,
maybe six years or 16 years of wrestling.
That is such a cool moment that transcends wrestling.
That's just an awesome, awesome moment.
And then tied into that,
Cody versus AJ, I think,
it's for sure my favorite match since WrestleMania 40.
So those are great.
I mean, that's another true testament to like how a crowd can make a like a match or a moment or a PLE in general that much better.
It can take it from like a seven to an eight out of ten or it can take it from an eight to a nine at a ten.
Or maybe it can take it from a seven to an eight and a half out of ten.
But that crowd was special.
And the bar is now set very high for Clash of the Castle for Money in the Bank in Toronto.
for king and queen of the ring, the bar is set high, SummerSlam as well,
when WWE finally brings a PLE back around to the United States.
The bar is set high, and I just have a feeling.
I said this last week, I have a feeling that after having so many consecutive
international pay-per-views, the bar is set so high for Cleveland,
that SummerSlam better deliver.
Jeremy Varnel wrote this on Facebook and said,
what are your thoughts on the Wyatt Six?
Do you think it'll be a success?
Do you think that they will receive a push?
How do you think fans will react?
Well, fans are already reacting in a big way right now.
I love the slow tease here.
It reminds me a lot of how things were teased out
for months during the attitude era
and during the Monday Night Wars.
like they teased chris jericho coming like making his debut in wbwe for what felt like i think
was it six months or was it four months they teased that for such a long time and it was
early days of the internet so like word didn't spread quite as fast as it does now but i love this
like keep these teases coming and make sure that when they do debut that it it happens at the
right time and it means something like they're building
this to a fever pitch. And I felt like this was coming. If you go back and listen to the
interview I did with Eric Rowan, I feel like he very subtly hinted that he may be back in
WWE. And I was so excited for him when the word got out and the news got out that he was
re-signed at WWE. They're working on something special here. I just hope that.
that fans don't constantly compare everything that Uncle Howdy does in every segment to Bray Wyatt.
We need to realize that these are two separate characters, and while one may be paying tribute
to the other, while Uncle Howdy may be paying tribute to Bray Wyatt, I just hope that it's not
like, I just hope we're not three weeks into this, and people are going, yeah, it's cool,
but it's not Bray Wyatt. Like, let's let this thing independently live.
on its own. And I'm excited to see what they can do. Bray Wyatt was on fire until some of the
silliness with, oh, that hell in a cell match. And you know what I'm talking about. I don't want to
dive into that too much. There was some, there was some silliness with the fiend who is
supposed to be indestructible and unbeatable. And then that didn't, it didn't continue is all I'm
going to say. But I know that we're in for something special here with the Wyatt 6. And I love
seeing all the chatter about who's going to be part of this and where exactly this is going to go.
I think it'll be a success. And I think that they're waiting and they're drawing out this
debut to make it have even more of an impact when it does end up happening. Dan Fairless 97 on Twitter
says, your women's wrestling Mount Rushmore.
And also, I love the pot.
Thank you for getting me through the dark days.
Well, thank you, Dan.
I appreciate you being with us on this one right now
and appreciate you being with us on all of these episodes.
Mount Rushmore's are always so tough
because you're narrowing it down to just four people
and it's completely subjective, right?
This is just my opinion.
It's just one person's opinion based on so many different factors
and one of the big ones being,
when did you start watching wrestling?
Who were the people that really got you into it?
Let me take a stab at this.
I've never actually done a women's Mount Rushmore.
So let's take a stab at this
and see who we can come up with here.
I feel like Trish Stratis, for sure,
is on there.
So get Trish Stratus for sure.
I feel like she will be on most people's women's Mount Rushmore.
Trish Stratus, going to go with China?
I mean, how could you not say China?
Trish, China.
This is the thing.
You only have two more now.
Lita?
I mean, hard to not say Lita there.
And then when it comes down, okay, well, now we only got one spot.
Who is he going to go with on this one spot?
There's so many people.
Is you going to go with someone real classic on this?
You're going to go with someone who's more of a current star here.
There's so many you can choose from.
And then obviously it's going to be no disrespect to anybody who's left off of here.
There's so many people.
And I think after I reveal who my fourth person is,
and by reveal, I mean figure out who that is in my head as I continue to talk here.
I'll list off some other people who could definitely be on the Mount Rushmore of women's wrestling.
but I think Trish, China, Lita, it's a pretty good start.
Pretty good start right there.
Fourth person, I think has to be Charlotte Flair.
With everything that she's done, the various championship runs she's had,
maybe you don't like her work as of recent.
I do.
But she's really changed the game.
She's obviously a future Hall of Famer.
whenever she ends up retiring.
But, you know, fabulous Mula and May Young and Sable and Jacqueline.
Gail Kim has never talked about enough when people start talking about the greatest.
And I think it's just because there's a lot of people that didn't watch as much TNA
or maybe not watch any TNA compared to WWE.
Beth Phoenix, absolute legend.
There's so many other people.
But for me, that's...
I mean,
Rio Ripley,
you can make a strong case
for Ria Ripley
maybe in a few years
with the hot run
she's on right now.
Maybe she'll be an all-time grade
and maybe we start talking about that
in eight to 10 to 12 years
to 17 years.
I don't know.
This is a random number I just threw out.
But those are my four.
And I feel pretty good about those four.
I'd love to hear who your four are
on your Mount Rushmore of women's wrestlers.
Jervis underscore.
on Twitter.
J-R-I-V-S- underscore.
Favorite day at the gym?
Is it leg day?
Is it upper body day?
Is it a cardio day?
I think international chest day was always my favorite and still is to this day my favorite.
Although my workouts have shifted a little bit.
I'm not doing just one body part per day.
There was a point in time when I was chest on one day, back on one day, legs on one day,
shoulders on one day, and then arms.
on one day. I'm doing more of a push pull. So it's chest and tries, back and buys, shoulders
and legs, and abs are thrown in a few times a week and doing a pretty decent amount of cardio,
still walking 10 to 12 to 14,000 steps a day. You can't go wrong with doing some low-impact
cardio, really every day. But thrown in with some high impact or some high-intensity interval
cardio, love that. But yeah, chest and tries. Like, I know a lot of people love bench press,
and I do too, but I love doing chest flies. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's just the
pump that you feel like in the middle of your chest when you're doing it. Big fan of chest flies,
whether that's with dumbbells or whether that's on a machine, chest flies like my goat. If you see
me in the gym and I'm doing chest flies, that is the start of my chest workout. And I probably
got a big smile on my face with my AirPods in, probably listening to people talk. I listen to
podcast at the gym like a psychopath. Yeah, nothing to get you pumped up at the gym like listen to people
talk. Sometimes I listen to entrance themes or sometimes I listen to music and it's all across the board.
Like if you were to grab one of my AirPods and put it in your ear and I'm not listening to a podcast,
it could be anything from pop punk to hip hop to country to metal to rock to pop a lot of pop music my wife
makes fun of me a lot for that probably listen to that new taylor swift album more than i would
like to admit and i think i just admitted it to you there but chest chest in tries that's my
favorite one. What's yours? Samuel Jehota. Sam Jehota. Either way. I mean, in the subject of this email
or the from, it says Samuel, but then you signed it Sam. Hey, Chris, greetings from Czech Republic.
My question is, do you think Cody Rhodes will turn heel anytime soon? I know they're riding
the superhero baby face wave with Cody, but I get those heel vibes from him. He would be a lot
more compelling as a heel rather than a baby face in my opinion. What do you think?
Cody's definitely filling the shoes and filling the position that John Sina was in when John Sina was at the peak of what he was doing.
I think for sure that Cody Rhodes turns heel at some point in time, but then you'd have to have an equally popular baby face to take over from Cody.
because Cody puts in so much work at every single TV taping, every single live TV show, every single live event, so much, he puts so much work and effort in behind the scenes that goes unnoticed a lot of the time.
He's the one who's creating the moments for fans. He's the one who's like grabbing a little fan, pulling them over the barricade, having them do his entrance with him.
He's the first one to arrive to sign weight belts and sign eight by tens.
And he's the last one to leave after the main event posing for photos with everybody around the ring and signing autographs.
If he turns heel, that all goes away.
Like, yeah, sure, he can sign some autographs, but he can't be the heel.
And then after the show, like being good guy Cody and taking photos with everyone.
So I don't think it's any time soon.
I do think that it's going to have.
happen at some point in time. I think that
WWE
had a great thing with
John Sina, but
the fans started to turn on him
and I mean, John even said it during the interview
that we did. John, calling him by his
first name like we're good friends.
Oh yeah, my buddy John said this.
It's so hard to say, you can't even
talk about John Sina without saying John Sina.
He even said that during our interview.
When the fans started to turn
on John Sina, they should have went with
it and they had that whole plan for him to turn
heel. They should have gone with it. And whenever this does end up happening with Cody,
and I still don't think it's anytime soon, I think we're years away from it. It's going to be
special. Cody is so talented and put so much thought and effort into everything that he does.
He definitely has some heel tendencies. And when he starts to tap into that, it's going to be good.
but then who becomes the number one baby face at that point in time?
I don't know.
I don't know.
And we'll see.
There's a lot of options there.
I feel like there's a lot of big stars there.
This is going to be crazy.
There's a big prediction here.
I think we see one more baby face run from Roman Reigns.
There's certainly a storyline in here somewhere where OG bloodline and
bloodline 2.0 or the new bloodline or whatever we're calling this, they start to butt heads.
And I could see Roman Raines going out when he does decide to retire whenever that happens to be.
I could see him going out as a mega baby face.
That'll be interesting to see.
And you know he can turn it on just like that.
And the great thing, going back to the John Cena thing, is when fans started to turn on Roman
reigns. And then we were met with a worldwide pandemic and fans weren't in the arena anymore.
Ooh, here's our chance to tell the fans how they're going to react to this without having fans in
the arena to cheer or boo this thing or if we're trying to turn him heel, why are the fans cheering?
If we're trying to make him a baby face, why are they booing? When there were no fans there
in the arena and we went through that very awkward time of wrestling, they were able to really
manipulate that and
they turned Roman Reins into this
mega mega heel when
there were a lot of signs that maybe that should have happened earlier.
I think that that's
I think they could turn him back baby face
just as big
whenever that time comes around.
Brandon McCabe left this as a comment on Spotify
and again leave a comment on Spotify.
Let's get this to the most commented
episode of
insight on Spotify ever.
Brandon says, what wrestler describes when you're very, very angry?
For me, people even give it a name.
And it's Brock Lesnar.
One time I got so angry that I nearly ripped off the padding of a gym wall.
Well, Brandon, my goodness, let's keep this in check.
What could have made you that angry that you're vandalizing things in the gym?
I don't know the last time I was like super angry.
I feel like that was the 20-something-year-old version of me.
That version of me, and I guess still like the current version of me,
gets, I'd say angry more in like a Randy Orton kind of way.
I get like, it's more internal.
It's more subtle.
It's more like you look at my face and you're like,
ooh, that guy is pissed off.
It's not like the yelling and screaming.
I don't know the last time I yelled at anything or anyone.
Maybe like stubbing my toe or something,
but for me,
it's more internal.
Like,
it's like,
maybe it's a snide remark.
Or it's like,
uh,
it's definitely written on my face.
But it's been a long time since that happened.
Maybe it's a little bit of also like,
old,
like Hollywood heel rock.
Like it's like,
just a remark.
Oh,
that's not,
That wasn't a very nice thing to say.
Huh.
Oh, wow.
And then you just kind of walk away.
Just like let it simmer.
I'd say that's more of the heel version of Chris Sharp.
Like when I get angry, I turn into my wrestling alter ego.
I'd say that's what it is for me.
Brock Leszor angry is like really angry.
That's like driving a tractor the ring and flipping the ring over.
That's really angry, Brandon.
I hope that that doesn't happen often for you.
Ryan Pike says, hey, Chris Van Vleet.
This is like he tagged me on Facebook, so that's why it's full name.
What's your personal opinion during the invasion angle in 2000, 2001?
The Brothers of Destruction versus Canyon and DDP seem very lackluster.
A scenario of Brothers of Destruction versus Hardee's,
even if for storyline's sake, like Hardy's going WCW,
I believe that could have created some very interesting matches.
TLC, Helen O'S Sell, to unify the titles.
what are your thoughts on this imaginary storyline that could have been.
P.S. I love your podcast. Thank you for your hard work. God bless. Well, thank you, Ryan.
DDP even said during the episode that we had, episode number 500, if you want to go back and check that out.
He said that he wasn't given the run that he should have been given in WWE.
And if you really think about it, anybody who came over from, anybody that was a WCW guy that came over to
WWF at the time after WCW got bought by Vince McMahon,
they didn't get treated that well.
It was almost like Vince was going,
these are the stars that I made in WWF,
and those are just those are your people.
So like, yeah, we'll show them on the show,
but we're not really going to get them over.
Really the only person that was able to break out of that was Booker T.
And Booker T was able to not just be the massive star that he was in WCW,
but then eventually took some time.
but eventually be able to get over in WWF slash WWE.
But you think of all the people that were big stars in WCW
that just didn't get a chance in WWE.
Scott Steiner, DDP, Buff Bagwell.
Sting just didn't want to go there for various different reasons,
but a lot of them.
So, yeah, DDP just wasn't booked well at all.
And he even said like that the stalker gimmick with The Undertaker just logically didn't make sense and basically took any steam out of any potential run that he would have had in WWE.
And that was it.
So I think that a scenario of brothers of destruction, brothers of destruction versus Hardee's, yeah, would have been great.
But we were also at a time then when it was very much like these are the W.
I keep going between WWF or WWE.
For the sake of this question and answer,
I'll keep saying WWE.
That was the time when it was very much
WWE people versus invasion people.
So versus WCW and ECW people.
So I don't know that you would have seen
Brothers of Destruction,
WWE people versus Hardee's, WWE people.
I don't even think for storyline
they would have allowed such big stars,
like the Hardys to go over and even pretend to be part of WCW.
They just wouldn't have made sense.
I also think fans would have seen through that.
When you go back to that time,
there were a lot of people that you were either a raw fan
or you were a Nitro fan.
And there were some people that watched both,
but there were a lot of people who watched just one or the other.
So when you're trying to say to someone who's a WCW fan,
it was like a hardcore Nitro fan, like,
oh yeah, through some sort of strange trade,
the Hardys are now part of WCW.
I just think there'd be a lot of fans of a go, huh?
What?
No, they're not.
Like, that's silly.
It doesn't make sense.
Maybe Brothers of Destruction versus Hardee's under a different set of circumstances?
Sure.
Yes.
Man, that would have been great.
Two high flyers in their prime doing what they were doing against two of the best big men ever,
two of the greatest performers in the history of wrestling in Canaan The Undertaker?
Take my money.
Sign me up for that.
Muhammad underscore Umar, 2008 on Instagram says,
who should break Rick Flair's record?
John Sina or Randy Orden?
It sure feels like with the branding around John Sina as of late,
this is a WWE move to call him the greatest of all time.
that is not a John Sina move.
John Sina is not saying,
please call me the greatest of all time.
This has definitely been a move internally
behind the scenes for,
hey, let's announce him
as the greatest of all time.
Let's have the commentators
refer to him as the greatest of all time.
John Sina has another real run
in him at some point.
I think it's probably next year.
I think that leads to another championship run.
and man, there's a lot of options out there.
Cody could still be the champion,
maybe when that happens.
Randy Orton could be the champion.
Seth Rollins could be the champion.
There's a lot of great matches there.
But Randy versus Cody,
or Randy versus John Cena,
that's a match that makes a lot of sense.
And maybe a match we'll see next year,
very, very, very early prediction
for WrestleMania 41.
But I just think that John Sina being put into the championship picture, especially if it's the World Heavyweight Championship, that's one that makes a lot of sense.
And that's one that doesn't need a lot of storytelling behind. It doesn't need a lot of backstory.
I think it's John Sina.
But then it could also then be Rick or it could be Randy Orton after that.
It just seems to me that there's another one or two championship.
runs for John Sina.
And when I asked him, like, what's your favorite of your 16?
He said the next one.
And I know that that was like a nod to Tom Brady, whenever people would ask him, like,
what was your favorite Super Bowl win?
He would always say my next one.
So I think that that was a little bit of like my next one, Tom Brady, but I truly think
for John Sina, there is a next one.
So I'm going to go with John Sina on that one.
But I won't be surprised if Randy Orton ends up.
in when it's all said and done, having more.
But I think the person to break Rick Flair's record is John Cena.
Kyle from New Jersey at Kyle from NJ on Twitter says,
Hey, Chris, I've been a longtime fan of your show and your interviews.
I'm talking free Insight Days.
Oh man, we're taking a back here.
Insight started in 2019.
So free insight.
Wow.
I even finally had the pleasure of meeting you at the comment.
Comedy Store last year during Sam Roberts Mania show when I asked Baron Corbyn a question about his
match with Angle. I was the guy holding the mic for the Q&A, by the way. And I can, and we're back to
Kyle here. I can now proudly say that I got to talk into a mic that you were holding. My question to
you is, who would you like to see return to the WWE for one more run and a Hall of Fame
induction? Love you and the show, Chris. The most obvious one, like when someone says,
Who should be in the Hall of Fame that's not in the Hall of Fame?
The most obvious one is The Rock.
Like that is going to happen at some point here when he's finally done and he hangs him up.
Maybe it's after, maybe it's Roman versus Rock at WrestleMania 41, then he's inducted the next year.
That seems like the most obvious one.
There's also some people that, like, Santino Morella is like one.
1,000% a Hall of Famer.
If Santino Morella ever leaves TNA
and wants to have one last run in WWE
and make us laugh alongside our truth
or doing something against our truth,
that'd be incredible.
I think seeing Santino for maybe another rumble spot
or just another short run
and then inducted in the Hall of Fame,
I'm here for that.
So I think those are two pretty obvious ones.
There's a long list of people who could be in the WWE Hall of Fame.
But those are two, I don't think you can argue against.
I mean, The Rock, for sure.
Rock's going to be a Hall of Fame.
Who's going to induct him?
Who would induct the Rock?
Stone Cold?
That one, that probably would make a lot of sense.
I don't know.
I guess we'll see what happens there.
And we are at the final question.
for Ask CVV, Reggie Miller, Mike Piazza, Grant Fure, even Greg Maddox edition here, number 31.
Thank you guys for sending you these questions.
I love hanging out with you on these.
I agree.
I get a few emails every single week or a few messages every single week from people saying,
I love the Ask CVV questions or interviews at episodes more than I do some of the interviews.
I kind of agree sometimes.
I mean, I get that not every guest is going to be your cup of tea.
but then again, tea is in everybody's cup of tea.
So I love doing these and just being able to hang out with you one on one.
So let's get to this final question here.
Oh, man, I didn't even, I didn't even, I got the question here.
But I forgot to, forgot to figure out who this is from.
Oh, man, can I?
Oh, here we go.
Okay.
If I check in my phone here, there we go.
It's from Scotty Stabs on Instagram.
Scotty Stabs says, and it's water gunner is your username
or your profile name.
We've seen numerous talents move to NXT
and revitalize their career.
Baron Corbyn, Apollo Cruz, Finn Baller, etc.
Also throw Dolph Ziegler into that.
If you could move one main roster star to NXT,
who would it be?
Mine would be Cedric Alexander.
I feel like an NXT run for Cedric would be amazing.
Thank you, Chris.
Forever a fan. Well, Scottie stabs.
Cedric Alexander would be great. And that guy is so talented and I feel like showcasing some of his talent in NXT would be an amazing thing. Great answer by you.
I'm going to throw a bit of a curveball here. I'm going to go more of like the Dolph Ziegler route with this one.
The Miz in NXT. Not to make the Miz shine that much more, but you put the Miz in NXT.
and the Miz has always been so good
over his entire career
of making whoever he's working with
look like a million bucks.
Put the Miz in NXT
with some people who maybe are a little bit green,
some people who could maybe use a little bit of experience
and the Miz is going to make them look so good.
Give them, like, I've been saying for so long
that I loved the Miz as the WWE champion.
I would love to see the Miz.
Ms. get another championship run. I'm aware that is a very unpopular opinion. But you want to talk about
future Hall of Famers. I mean, the Miz, first ballot, obviously, everything that he's done. I don't care
if you don't like the Miz character. The Miz is fantastic. And Mike, the person, is a great guy.
The Miz and NXT could do some great work. Give him a short run as the NXT champion,
just like they did with Dolph Ziegler. That would be some real magic. Do I think this is
actually going to happen? No, that's the fun thing about doing things like this and having these
imaginary situations and fantasy booking. But the Miz short, you know, six, eight week run in
NXT, it'd be so good. That'd be so good. Speaking of so good, this was another fun one. I love
these episodes. Thank you for sending in so many great questions, either on social media using that hashtag
Ask CVV or emailing them in.
Got a lot of emails at CVV at chrisFanbley.com.
And thank you for leaving those comments on Spotify.
I really think, I love that you're still here, an hour into this episode.
This shows me that you're a real one.
Because not only are you listening to an Ask CVV episode,
but you're listening all the way until the end.
I really think that following the show on Spotify or Apple or wherever means a lot.
It really helps the show continue to rise up the

sending this to someone who loves Liv Morgan or Teddy Long or any of the recent guests that we've had.
I think that helps. And then leaving a review helps the most. So if you're listening on Spotify,
click that rating, leave the five stars. If you feel like the show is a five star show and you're

So that would be awesome if you could do that.
So thank you for being with us on this one.
Three things that I'm grateful for.
are my family. My daughter is about to celebrate her first birthday on May 29th,
and we've got a big first birthday planned with all of our friends and family back east in
New Jersey. I'm so excited for that one. I'm grateful for just, I'm just grateful for how exciting
it is right now to be a wrestling fan. What, whatever.
you like to watch, whatever three letters you watch, whatever day of the week you like to watch,
I'm grateful for the time that we're in right now. And in saying that, I'm grateful that maybe,
hopefully, we can be present enough to realize that these are the good old days that we're in right now.
And maybe when you don't like something that you see on a Monday or Wednesday or Friday or
whatever day of the week, Thursday, whatever day the week it happens to be,
maybe you can just focus a little bit more on the good.
Because these are the good old days.
And the silly, stupid stuff that's happening right now,
I promise you, in 10 or 20 years,
you won't be thinking about that.
The attitude error is a perfect example of that.
People talk so frequently about all the things they loved about it
and conveniently forget about beaver cleavage and naked Midian
and some of the other ridiculous stuff that happened at that point in time.
So I'm grateful for the error of
wrestling that we are alive and experiencing right now. And in that, also grateful for the new fans
that are coming in. That's how you know that wrestling's hot. When you're meeting people who,
you're getting them caught up, right? They just started watching wrestling six months ago or a year ago.
Oh, my gosh. Oh, you need to go back and watch this or that. Let me tell you about this person and
why they're so great. That just juices me. That is so, that is such a fun part about wrestling.
And I am also grateful for summertime, especially growing up in Toronto when it's cold for a lot of months of the year.
And I lived in Cleveland for five more years, also cold for a lot of months of the year.
You really appreciate, I'd say, like, Memorial Day to about Labor Day.
There's something really special.
about living in Canada or in a cooler climate where you really start to take advantage of those,
whether it's trips to the cottage or days out on the boat or camping or whatever.
We are on the cusp of that time of year and it's my favorite time of the year and I love it
and I'm here for it. So I'm grateful for you as well.
I'll leave you with this quote from William McRaven.
I sometimes fell short of being the best,
but I never fell short of giving it my best.
Be great, be grateful.
We will see you on the next one for some more insight, my friends.
Jim Rome takes on sports.
Why?
Because I have a job to do.
With rapid fire takes.
So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs on this notion today.
No idea what you're talking about.
You're complaining more than you like to breathe air.
It's like you get up in the morning only to complain and cry and moan on social media about things that you don't even understand.
He's the spitfire of sports smack.
Take advantage of it, but get up in here.
