Oh, it is so good to see you, my friends.
Welcome back to another one here on Insight.
I'm CVV, Chris Fam Fleet.
It's been a big week.
I was a guest on Six Feet Under with Mark Calloway on Monday.
Then we reversed the rolls.
Then Mark Calloway, who, of course you know best as The Undertaker,
was a guest right here on Insight.
and that's one of my favorite interviews that I've ever done.
If you haven't checked it out yet,
please check it out at some point this weekend.
I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
As of right now,
we are the number two wrestling podcast on the planet,
and it's all because of you guys.
I think it's quite all right.
It is quite acceptable that number one on that list
is the Undertaker himself.
So thank you for being here.
And thank you for sharing the show.
and following the show and helping to make it one of the top wrestling podcasts on the planet.
Welcome, my friends, to Ask CVV number 36, the Jerome Bettis edition.
And I just have so much fun on these Ask CVV episodes.
I love that we're just hanging out one-on-one.
And I'm actually recording this right now from my hometown of Pickering, Ontario, Canada.
I'm sitting in my parents' basement right now.
It's been a while since I've been home in Canada.
But one of my best friends is getting married this weekend.
If you know the area, he's getting married at Stony Lake, which is about two hours
from Pickering.
We spent the day in Niagara Falls today.
That was my wife's first time ever going there.
It was my daughter's first time ever going there.
It's actually my daughter's first trip to Canada.
and yes, my daughter, Logan, is a dual citizen.
Born in the U.S., but when one of your parents is Canadian,
they have the ability to apply for Canadian citizenship and be a dual citizen.
So Logan is a dual citizen, which neither of her parents are.
Dad, me, Canadian, mom, Rachel, American, but Logan, dual citizen.
It was so great being in Niagara Falls.
It brings back a lot of memories because that's a place I went to a lot of
lot when I was younger. I remember going to the WWE store that was there on Clifton Hill. So the
main strip in Niagara Falls is where the Ferris Wheel is and the wax museums and a lot of the
restaurants and all of that stuff, the haunted houses. But for a little while, a few years,
there was a WWE store right there. And I remember going into it, I don't think I ever bought anything
there, but if I was there, I was like, we got, we got to go to the WWE store for a Niagara
Falls, we've got to go there. So, like, seeing that, I think there's a brewery. Yeah, there's a brewery in that
spot now. And I was like, oh, man, just brought back a lot of memories from, geez, that would have been
20 years ago when that store was there. But thank you for joining us on an Ask CVV episode.
This is how I know you're a real one. I can understand if you want to tune in for an episode with
The Undertaker or an episode with Adam Copeland or Christian Cage or whomever. But,
if you're here and it's just me and you hanging out, I appreciate you. You're a real one.
Thank you for sending in all these questions using that hashtag. Ask CVV or leaving a comment on Spotify,
that Q&A section that you see down there. What did you think of this episode? You can also
leave your questions in there. And you can email them in CVV at chris fanfleet.com. Man,
there is a ton of stuff to talk about this week. And yeah, sure, we can talk about how not
great my Clash of the Castle predictions were.
I don't know about you.
I just figured it had to be Drew McIntyre.
It was not.
Although what they're setting up here with Drew McIntyre and CM Punk,
I know is going to have a huge payoff,
but I think I was just as shocked as anybody
when he didn't win that match.
And even when CM Punk came out,
I was like, there's still a chance.
Like, CM Punk could screw him
out of like that pinfall
and you know
maybe he still
finds a way to win that match
it's not what happened
we're going to have a big payoff here
but I just feel like
with two clash of the castles
in Scotland
Drew McIntyre
how is he not
how is it not his moment
I just don't get it
so I don't know
and I'm not going to pretend
like I know
how any of this works
I'm not going to
like I know what the best decision is because I don't. I'm not on the inside of this,
but I just feel like that was the thing that everybody expected to happen, which is why
it probably didn't happen, because that's what we were expecting to happen. But I got a few of
those predictions wrong. I also thought for sure that Jade and Bianca were going to be walking
out with the championships. They did not. I will continue to stick to my
prediction that Chad Gable will be the Intercontinental Champion at some point this year. I know we've
still got half a year left, but the man, the matches he's been having with Sammy Zane have just
been so, so good. It's just a matter of time here. And when that happens, it's going to be
incredible for Chad Gable and the heel turn that he's having. And it's also going to be so great
for Sammy Zane because then Sammy Zane moves on to bigger and better things and whatever that may be,
Maybe it's another run at the title.
Maybe it's another title shot or like an actual championship run.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But there's a lot of great stuff there.
That was not a question at all.
But we will get into the questions here.
The first one coming from,
I'm Israel underscore on Instagram.
What was your reaction to the debut of Joe Hendry on NXT?
What a moment.
That was such a great moment.
And that is a perfect example,
the opposite of what we were just talking about.
this is the perfect example of giving the audience what they want.
This TNA and WWE crossover has been so fun.
And I hope that we're just in the early stages of this.
Like, I hope that this isn't something that just lasts for a handful of shows and that's it.
I hope that this is something that as we continue to go on for the rest of this year and then,
of course, into the Royal Rumble where there's always a few nice surprises in there,
I hope that this is always in the back pocket.
And then I hope that subsequently the roles are reversed here.
I hope that when things like slam reversary or Bound for Glory come around,
I hope that the door swings both ways.
And I am very hopeful that we see opportunities to have some WWE talent go into TNA,
like people that would make a lot of sense there.
The name that immediately pops into my head is AJ Stiles.
It would be so cool to see him playing some sort of,
role there, but Joe Hendry showing up in NXT was so perfectly done. And this wasn't just a throwaway
moment. They gave him a full entrance and they gave him a mic. They gave him a mic during a
battle royal. It was just such a cool moment to see. And they allowed the moment to breathe. And
he has so much momentum from everything that's been going on with the song release. And
And being in the top 40 chart and all of the viral success that he's been having,
and I love that they capitalized on all of it.
Fun little story for you.
You might have seen this on social media, but I was with Joe Hendry the day before.
So they were in Chicago with TNA for the weekend.
Then on Sunday, Joe Hendry flew to Los Angeles.
and then we did an interview Monday morning in L.A.
and then I drove him right from the studio to the airport.
Little did I know that about 24 hours later,
he'd be making history with that big moment on NXT.
But he talked a lot during the interview
about just trying to make the most of these moments.
And my goodness, he made the most of that moment.
And I especially love what happened backstage.
It was a moment that they just showed on social media.
But that moment backstage where he's with Sean Michaels and he says,
anywhere, anytime, on any show, all you got to do is say his name.
Which makes us all think at some point here, Joe Hendry could show up on Smackdown.
He could show up on Raw.
If we skip ahead here many months, he could certainly show up at the Royal Rumble.
So I just loved it.
I love this time in wrestling.
I just love how anything could happen.
And we just saw that AJ Styles announced a match in Japan.
Like it's just so exciting that there's all of this crossover that's happening.
I hope that at some point,
WWE and AEW can work out something where they can share talent just once.
Just share talent once.
And yes, it probably,
should have happened at WrestleMania 40 with Dustin Rhodes coming out. I mean, at worst,
coming out to just celebrate with Cody. At best, he's one of the surprise returns who comes
out and helps Cody there. I just hope that at some point, maybe it's not this week. Maybe it's
not this month. Maybe it's not even this year. But I hope that at some point, when there's a
situation that makes a lot of sense, it would be just so amazing to see that crossover.
It's what all the fans want.
So I hope that they can figure something out at some point.
I'm not saying it needs to be everybody.
I'm not saying that this needs to be available for all talent from WWE to be able to
AEW or from all talent from AEW to be able to go to WWE.
But it'd be so cool for a way to highlight both of them.
I know that that may sound like some sort of a crazy pipe dream,
but it would make things just so exciting.
Joe Hendry on NXT, very cool,
which leads us right into this next one from Sean underscore Jenko on Instagram,
who says, hey, Chris, I'm Sean from Des Moines.
And my question for the Ask CVV Jerome Bettis edition,
I love that we were both on the same page with that one.
Why is Joe Hendry's theme so catchy?
also I appreciate all that you do.
His theme is so catchy.
Like if I say to you right now, say his name and he appears, it's stuck in your head for
the rest of the day.
Now, I know that wasn't very good singing, but it's stuck in your head now for the rest
of the day.
I asked Joe Hendry this exact question.
Why is your theme song so catchy?
And he gave me this like, like a scientific breakdown almost.
Like he was talking about like, oh, I specifically did it in this many beats,
per minute because that's the catchiest, I think it's the catchiest pop beat or something like that.
You'll have to listen to the episode.
The episode will drop next Thursday, episode 620.
And yes, on Tuesday, episode 619.
I don't even have to tell you who the guest is.
I can't believe that all lined up.
So it's a big week next week.
Ray Mysterio Tuesday, Joe Hendry on Friday.
and then Ask CVV 37 on...
Sorry.
It's Ray Mysterio on Tuesday.
Joe Hendry on Thursday.
Thursday.
Ask CVV 37 on Friday.
I don't know.
How did I mess that up?
It's been a long day.
Niagara Falls and everything going on there.
The Joe Henry episode is...
It's a must listen.
So is the Ray Mysterio one.
Oh my goodness.
What a career.
How do you cram all that in a one episode?
Whether you were world-class athletes,
or a podcaster like me, we all understand the importance of mental and physical well-being
and proper recovery for top-notch performance.
That's why I'm excited that Unified Healing is sponsoring this episode of Insight.

So we've got a lot in common.
Obviously, we both love wrestling, and evidently we love great conversations about wrestling,
but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if you're like me,
you also like to save a dollar or two or maybe 10.
And that's been the case since I signed up for Rocket Money.
Rocket Money is a personal finance app that finds and cancels your unwanted subscriptions.
It also monitors your spending and helps to lower your bills.
Rocket Money has over 5 million users, myself included, and they've helped save its members

So yeah, they'll go in and they'll find those subscriptions that you completely forgot.
you signed up for, and they'll do the hard work of canceling those subscriptions for you
and saving you that money. So stop wasting money on things that you don't use.

Darrell on Spotify, also Christian 07 Luna on Instagram, both of you guys asked the same
question. What did you think of the Wyatt 6 debut and what do you think is going to happen after that
debut? I loved it. And I loved that it's how they closed out the show. Like it just leaves us like,
it's almost like a cliffhanger because it leaves us going, what does this mean? Where does this go? How does
this pick up again next week? This makes you definitely need to tune in to Raw to see how this all plays out.
I love that it's the Wyatt 6 S-I-C-K-S.
For months, we thought it was the number six.
And it's obviously, it sounds like the number six,
but I like this double meaning here that they are the sick people.
It also technically means there could be more or less than six of them if that's what they
choose to do.
And so right now we've got Uncle Howdy, it's Bo Dallas.
We got Nikki Cross is Abby the Witch.
Joe Gacy, Huskis the Pig.
Eric Rowan, love that he's back in WWE.
He's rambling rabbit.
Dexter Loomis, love that guy.
Mercy the Buzzard.
I've heard a lot of chatter online.
Who's the sixth member?
We only saw five people.
If I'm not mistaken here,
I feel like the six member is Bray Wyatt.
I mean, I guess he technically be the first member.
Of course, this is open for interpretation,
but that's the way.
that I see it. It seems to me like Ray Wyatt's the one that's just the constant. He's always there,
of course. If it wasn't for Bray Wyatt, these other five wouldn't be part of the group. And
Bray Wyatt will always be part of this in some sort of way. But again, it's not the number six.
It's the word six. So there could be another member and there could be several more members. But man,
I'm excited to see what this goes.
I'm also very curious here.
How does this, like, did this happen in the realm that we watch WWE in?
If you follow what I'm saying here?
Because, like, Chad Gable looked dead.
Okay?
Is Chad Gable the character dead?
I mean, it didn't look so good.
And I think that if you slow down the video and you look really carefully,
Gunther didn't look so good either.
So is this, I'm sure this is going to be explained.
It has to be explained.
But what a debut.
What a fantastic debut.
And it just, it leaves you wanting more.
So now we have to find out on Monday what all this means and where all of this exists.
And how all of that happened in the back?
Is there going to be video showing us how that attack happened?
What's the first match going to be?
Who's going to be in that first match?
Is this going to be just Uncle Howdy, pulling the strings,
and telling Nikki Cross and Joe Gacy and Eric Rowan and Dexter Loomis what to do?
Are these going to be tag team matches?
There's so many possibilities here, and I love it.
I've always been a fan of really strong factions that tell really great stories,
and it just seems to me like that's what we're going to get here.
And I can't wait.
This one was emailed in from Brian Dowie who says,
Hey, Chris, congrats on an excellent double header with The Undertaker.
I listened to and enjoyed both you on his and vice versa.
It was very cool to hear one of the goats give you your well-deserved props
or are they called flowers these days?
Thank you so much for that.
I appreciate it.
A two-partner.
Though, if you had to choose one, I'd go with the first one.
So here's the first one.
After niching down to mostly wrestling podcast,
do you think we'll ever have a time
where you'll want to grow back out of them
to other sports or back to entertainment in general?
So I think, Brian, with the podcast,
we're wrestling here.
And I think that we're going to venture out every once in a while.
Like we had Paul Walter Houser, an actor on.
We had O'Shea Jackson Jr., an actor on.
But the through line there was we talked about wrestling with them.
We had Will Sassel.
also on, you know, the great Will Sassau bringing us lots of wrestling impressions. I think when it comes
to the podcast, we're going to be sticking to either wrestlers or people that are wrestling adjacent,
I will say. Like maybe it's an actor or athlete, but they're talking about their fandom for
wrestling, like when Freddie Prince Jr. is on or when David Arquette has been on the show before.
I still do a lot of entertainment interviews. I just did it.
interviews last week,
maybe it was two weeks ago with
Austin Butler and Jody Comer
and Tom Hardy. They have a new
movie called The Bike Riders. That's out now.
Go check it out. Fantastic
performances in that. So I still do
those. I'm still a freelance
entertainment reporter for KLS
which is the CBS affiliate
in Las Vegas. So I still
do all that and you'll still see clips
of that on my Instagram and
Facebook and TikTok.
But I think as far as the podcast
goes, we're at episode 618 right now.
If you go back, and it's crazy that I get these tweets every once in a while with people
saying, hey, man, I just found the show, and I then went back to episode one, and I'm listening
to all of them.
Like, that blows my mind when I hear that.
When you do go back, you'll see that there is a wide variety of all different kinds of guests.
of course there's wrestlers, but there's also actors and comedians and entrepreneurs and authors and
thought leaders. They're all just people that I find fascinating and I want to pick their brain and I want
to get to the bottom of who they are and what makes them tick because selfishly, I know that I can learn
a lot from that and I know that somebody listening would also be able to learn a lot from that too.
It just seems really obvious, especially with how exciting wrestling is right now.
that these are the guests you guys want to hear.
And while there might be some really great stories from an entrepreneur or an author
or a comedian, it just seems like this is what you guys want to hear right now.
And I mean, I look at the numbers.
And every wrestling interview does better than any non-wrestling interviews.
So we are niched down on the wrestling podcast.
I don't know if I've officially said it other than in the intros of these shows,
but, yeah, Insight with Chris Van Vlead is very much a wrestling podcast,
and I think it will forever be a wrestling podcast.
Question number two from Brian Dowie here is,
for episode 619, does it go, hey, we got 619 soon?
Do we got to go get Ray Mysterio,
or is it just one of those awesome coincidences that he just so happened to be free around this time?
So this was something that I hoped and wished for for the last many months.
I kept going, man, episode 619's coming up.
How cool would it be to get Ray Mysterio?
And I got to give all the credit to Rampage Jackson, who was a recent guest on the show.
Ray Mysterio was a guest on the Jackson podcast, which is a podcast that that's J-A-X-O-N.
It's a podcast that Rampage Jackson co-hosts.
And when I had him in the studio, I said, oh, man, you just had Ray Mysterio on your show.
That was such a great episode.
I would love to have him on my show.
He goes, oh, as soon as we're done recording this, I'll connect you guys.
And I was like, what?
He goes, yeah, I mean, I don't know if he's going to do it, but I can definitely connect you guys.
So all of this happened because of Rampage Jackson.
And this is such a great example of it's not.
What you know, it's who you know.
If it wasn't for the timing of that rampage episode.
And the only reason the rampage episode happened is because of my good friend Harrison Rogers,
who is the founder of both F3 Energy, an amazing sponsor of the show.
Go use the code CVV to save 15% in F3Energy.com.
He's also the founder of United Fight League, which is giving fighters a share, shares in the company,
and also medical insurance, which is wild and incredible.
So if it wasn't for my good friend Harrison Rogers,
connected me with Rampage Jackson.
Rampage Jackson wouldn't have been able to connect me to Ray Mysterio,
and we wouldn't have this for episode 619.
So it's just amazing how the world works,
and I can't wait for you guys to hear this episode with Ray Mysterio.
He is one of the nicest people I have ever met,
not just nicest celebrities.
like one of the nicest just people that I've ever met.
And it's just an amazing conversation.
And it's just going to be such a good one.
Mark PwN on Twitter says,
how do you get ahead of all the hot topics
with these wrestlers that you're bringing into your show?
Honestly, Mark, I've just been really lucky
the last bunch of months.
Joe Hendry coming on my show on Monday
and then a, well, we recorded the episode on Monday.
And then him going,
and appearing on
NXT the next day.
That was all just pure coincidence.
So the episode airing a little bit over a week
after he debuts on NXT,
that is just fantastic timing.
I just got lucky.
And I think there's a bunch of other examples of that,
like Jindor Mahal.
We recorded the episode,
WrestleMania weekend.
Of course, I had no idea,
and neither did he,
about the news that he was going to be released.
And we were,
planning to release that episode that Tuesday, and he got released a few days earlier. And I sent him
a message and said, hey, man, is it still okay if we run this episode? Like, I thought it was such a great
conversation. He's like, yes, of course, of course we can. So there's a lot of the, a lot of hot
topics that I miss. There is, I'm never, I'm never going to pretend like I nail even a fraction of
them. Like, I would have been amazing to have had Jordan Grace on the show in the last few weeks with
everything she had going on there.
Of course, it would be great to have Cody on the show, and this is something we're working on.
Fingers crossed here, we still got to plan a date, but Cody Rhodes should be appearing on the show
at some time in the next month or two, hopefully.
But, you know, if I was right on top of these things, it would have been like,
Cody wins the championship at WrestleMania 40, and then I have them on the show like that week.
You know, you got to understand here with so much.
I love Busted Open.
And I love what they do there.
And those guys and girls are all so talented there.
They run a really different type of show.
Like they run a daily radio show where they're talking about like the topics of the day or of the week.
And sometimes the topic on Monday may already be out of date by the time Friday rolls around.
We've got a little bit of a different thing going with the podcast.
Like these are conversations that are self-contained.
And a lot of these, like the Undertaker episode, for example,
that's an episode you can listen to in a year.
And the majority of it will still be rather relevant.
Like, they call that Evergreen in broadcasting.
So I don't know if I'm always on top of the hot topics.
Just know that when it does happen, it was just a, you know, complete accident.
Pat W. Shepard wrote this one on Instagram,
and said, who is going to win money in the bank?
It just feels wide open right now, doesn't it?
Like, I feel like there's a few contenders.
A few people might make sense, but with money in the bank two weeks away,
and we still don't have like a clear, like, oh, it's definitely going to be this person.
I'm excited about that.
Like, I just think that that's really cool.
And I also appreciate, like, last year we thought for sure it was going to be L.A.
night and
WWE swerved us
and I think that
sometimes wrestling is at its
best when the things that
you least expect to happen
Damien Priest won that
I'll give you some picks for who I think
could make a lot of sense.
I think that a few weeks ago
we would have all said
it should be LA night.
But it feels to me like
they're planning something bigger
for LA night.
Feels like it's LA night.
Logan Paul.
Feels like that's going to happen
at Summer Slee.
I just, I don't know, maybe it happens before, but it just feels like that's lining up for SummerSlam in Cleveland, which is, it's huge because that's Logan Paul's hometown.
So if LA Knight can beat Logan Paul in his hometown, that, that to me feels in a stadium show.
I don't know.
That to me feels like a bigger moment.
Of course, we assume that when someone wins money in the bank, that is a successful cash in later on, and they end up being world champion or W.
champion, but it just seems to me like Jay Uso.
Jay Uso feels like a favorite here.
I could also see this, and I mentioned this a few weeks ago,
Dominic Mysterio, with that Money in the Bank briefcase and like just totally
healing out with it, there's something there, there's something there.
And I'll give you a wild card here.
It's probably too early, but could you imagine Bronbreaker with that
money in the bank briefcase.
The guy seems unstoppable right now.
And I don't know if that's the path they want to go with the storyline.
But I mean, it feels like with all the momentum that he has, he's a future champion at
some point here.
I don't know if it's within the next year, but the next few years for sure.
So there's a few, you know, early picks here.
It's crazy to think that two weeks out is early.
The odds are not up yet.
Am I booking?
They will be probably the week off.
When we look at the women's money in the bank,
I've been saying this for months,
and I'm still going to hold true to this.
It feels to me like it's either Tiffany Stratton
or it's Chelsea Green.
And both of them,
it just plays into their characters so well.
Like Tiffany putting,
I mean,
she even told me this in our episode.
She wants to, like,
get a pink money in the bank briefcase
and put rhinestones on it.
It just totally plays into her,
character. She, just like Bronbroker, she's a future champion. And that's going to happen at some
point in time. I just don't know if that's in this calendar year or not. But it's, for me, it's either
Tiffany Stratton or if Chelsea Green gets this, oh my goodness. What a storyline this will be. And
the amazing character work that we're going to see with that. So those are my picks for
money in the bank. Again, we, like, we don't even have all the contenders in the match.
We don't even have everybody that's going to be in that.
So there could be some dark horses here, and I'm very excited to see how this plays out.
I'm going to be in Toronto for money in the bank.
So if you're going, I hope to see you there, and it'd be great to be able to just say what's up and high five and whatever, chat a little wrestling.
Dylan Postma on Spotify said, I must have missed the announcement on the pregnancy.
Congrats, Chris and Rachel.
Happy Father's Day, CVV, and to DVVV2.
Thank you so much, Dylan.
If you missed it online, we have baby number two on the way.
We're so excited about this.
And we know it's a little baby boy.
So December 11th is the due date.
So we're going to have, they're going to be like 19 months apart.
And man, I'm so excited.
I love being a dad so much.
That little girl we have brings so much joy to my life.
I love my daughter, Logan, so much.
it's also amazing how it's brought me and my wife closer together. So it's just a matter of time here.
It's another handful of months here. And then we got another one. So thank you for that, Dylan.
And I will pass the Happy Father's Day along to my dad, DVV. And that does not stand for Dad VV or Dad Van Fleet. That is Dirk Van Fleet. So I'll pass that along to my dad who is sitting upstairs in this house.
right now as I sit here in the basement,
surrounded by a lot of my, like,
childhood things. Like, as I look around me here,
there's a, there's a WWF calendar from 2001 sitting behind me.
I don't know why we saved it, but it's just sitting there.
There's a few baseballs as well.
And, uh, we're going to, we're going to move on here because you don't need to hear
about all of the items that are sitting around me in my parents' basement here
in Pickering Ontario, Canada.
Dill.T.Y. 1993 on Spotify says,
Hey, CVV, was interviewing the Undertaker a dream come true?
Also, which was your favorite iteration of the dead man?
Undertaker was definitely one of the people who I had on a bucket list of interviews.
And it was one that I felt like, I don't know,
it just didn't seem like it was ever going to happen.
And then last year, I was able to interview him.
He was promoting the one dead man show.
when it was coming to Las Vegas.
And I got him for like 20-ish minutes over Zoom.
And I mean, if you listen to the episode,
you know that he just tells such great stories.
Those 20 minutes and that interview was fantastic.
I loved it.
I loved the interaction that we had.
At the end of that, he said, let's do this again sometime.
And I was like, yes, of course.
And he's like, and I'm a man of my word.
And I'm like, okay.
Like, does that mean it's going to happen?
Like, and sure enough, he is a man of his word.
So, Taker, Mark, there's a 0% chance you're listening to this.
But thank you for being a man of your word.
And thank you for all of your kindness and your hospitality and just the amazing day that we spent in Austin.
So I don't know why I was just talking to Mark Calloway there like he was listening.
But it was amazing.
and I appreciate that when we sat down to do the interview,
I was like, hey, we only record for like,
about an hour.
We usually aim for about an hour.
You know, does there a certain time you need to get out of here?
He's like, no, no.
And his exact words is like, oh, man, we can keep going until you get all the bullshit out of me.
Like, man, this guy's the best.
And we still, we still could have talked for like 10 more hours.
We recorded for almost two hours.
I feel like we could have done 10 more hours easily.
He just tells the best stories.
How good was that Paul Bearer's story?
To answer your second question here, Dill,
what was my favorite iteration of the dead man?
I think I love the dead man, like that era of like 90,
right before the corporate ministry.
I think that was my favorite undertaker.
Not that there was anything wrong with the corporate ministry,
but if you listen to my episode of Six Feet Under,
told a funny story there.
My parents aren't wrestling fans.
And my dad was a special.
upset when I started becoming a wrestling fan in high school. And listen to the full story on
Undertaker's podcast. But basically one day my dad was like, all right, if it's not so bad,
like, I'm going to sit here and watch it with you. And this is the peak attitude error.
You know, when this is probably not the best stuff to be showing to your parents when, you know,
you're 15 or 16 years old. And so we sat down and obviously he was not a fan of, you know, the way
the women were being portrayed at that time.
And then, you know, it was like a few minutes later or whatever,
Undertaker's sacrificing Stone Cold Steve Austin.
It was just like, it wasn't a very good selling point to my parents.
So I think it was right before that.
That was my favorite.
And that was also the Undertaker that threw mankind off hell in a cell and everything
that went along with that.
I don't know, that moment elevated both of their careers so much.
So that's it for me.
That's my favorite iteration of the dead man.
And this leads us right into this one from Instagram.
P-G-E-L-U-Z.
So P-G-Pegels?
Pagels, sure.
On Instagram, what was your favorite story from Taker?
That Paul Bearer's story was fantastic.
And the way that he started going into the Paul-Ber voice
and talking about how Paul Bearer needed a P so badly
and Taker just kept driving by every gas station until Paul Bearer peed his pants.
Man, what a good story.
That was my favorite story for sure from that one.
Squidwardian on Instagram says,
what's something grateful a guest has listed as their three that has caught you off guard?
Well, Christians three, when I ask Christian Cage, what are three things you're grateful for?
And he looks at me with a smile and says, me, myself and I, is what Christian Cage would say.
It's like, oh my gosh.
Yeah, that's the answer that Christian Cage would say.
Because I love during that interview, how he walked a very fine line between being in character and not being in character.
And there were a lot of points there where you're like, are you actually in character?
Are you not in character?
I think we got a lot of the obvious answers during that grateful question, which I love.
I mean, the whole purpose of me asking that question is, yeah, I'm curious, what are three things they're grateful for?
But it's also so that anybody that's listening that feels like, man, it's been a bad day or week or month or year or years.
I want someone to be able to hear another person who's so successful.
that is grateful for things that that other person may have in their own life.
Man, I'm grateful for my family.
I'm grateful for a roof over my head.
I'm grateful for my health.
I'm grateful for opportunity, whatever it happens to be.
That's the whole point of asking that question.
I've also been caught off guard when people are,
I want to thank me.
And I appreciate that so much.
If you actually listen to Snoop Dogg's speech when he got the Hollywood
The star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he was like, first of all, I want to think myself
because if it wasn't for me and my drive, I wouldn't be here right now. And I appreciate that
a lot. So that, that's an answer that I think caught me off guard. And then like it took me
a second to go, actually, yeah, that is a fair thing to be grateful for. But I'm always open to
hearing what anybody's grateful for.
It's nice to sometimes get a little curb ball there.
G.G. Dolan fan for life underscore says,
will you interview Damien Priest?
Yes, I would like to.
I'm a big fan of the work that he's doing, and his story as a whole is incredible.
Everything that he's done, even to get to Ring of Honor and the transformation that he
had with his body and the drive that he's done, the drive.
that he's had and the success that he's now having later on in his career, amazing.
We were exchanging messages recently and it sure seems like this is going to happen at
some point.
We don't have a date in mind.
We don't have a location in mind, but this is something we're working on and it's
an interview.
I would love to make happen.
Johnny Chikowsky.
I don't know why I said it like that.
Chikowsky, Johnny Chikowsky on Instagram.
I hope I'm saying your last.
same right. How do we get CVV on the Jericho cruise? Ooh, great question. I've never been on the
Jericho cruise. And I feel like I've missed out on some really good times from the stories that I've heard
and some of the stories that can't be repeated. And of course, some of the videos that we've seen,
I would love to make that happen. I'd love to get on the Jericho cruise just to be there. But, wow,
it would be, it would be amazing to be able to actually do some interviews on the Jericho
Cruz. I don't know. If you guys have an in with Chris Jericho or if you could send him a bunch
of tweets, maybe put in a good word for me. It would be fun to be able to do Insight Live on the Jericho
cruise. We've got some time here because I believe it's at the end of January. That's correct,
right? So we've got some time. Maybe, hopefully we can figure this all out. So put in a word for me. Maybe
send him a pile of tweets. He's pretty active on social media. Maybe he'll see it. And maybe we can
make this happen. And if you're going to, going to be on the Jericho cruise, we'll hang out there.
And it will be grand. First rounds on me for like a few people. Not, not everybody on the boat.
Okay. I don't know. We can't do that. But for a few people, sure. First rounds on me.
Although I don't know this for a fact. It's all inclusive, though, right? If it's all,
inclusive. It's, it's definitely first round on me then. Yeah, it's, yeah, if it's, if drinks are
included, first round is absolutely going to me. Levi Perkins at the Lee, the Levy Breaks on Twitter.
Favorite finishing move on the current roster for, at the risk of sounding, absolutely cliche.
I just love the RKO. And I've, I've always loved the diamond cutter. I love how DDP,
could hit it at it anywhere from any angle, from any reversal from a move. And I like how
Randy Orton has taken that up a notch. And we've seen some wild reversals and some wild
setups for this. It's the RKO. And there's just something about the way that he lands it so
cleanly. Oh, chef's kiss, Randy Orton. And I hope that we're all appreciating the work that
Randy Orton is doing right now because I hate to say it out loud, but it seems obvious
that he has a lot more years behind him than he does in front of him. So we may only be seeing
Randy Orton wrestling here for the next, what, handful of years. So I just hope that we're all
appreciating Randy Orton. And it really seems like Randy Orton is having a lot of fun doing this.
and it was just so cool.
I was there in Chicago when he returned at Survivor Series,
and he just looked like he was having a blast.
And I just love that for him.
So I'm sorry, if that's a cliche answer, I'm sorry,
but nothing hits like the RKO, in my opinion.
I've been a Randy Orton fan ever since he debuted.
And if we're going way back with this and he was injured
and he was doing the RNN
Randy News Network updates.
Randy Orton here with your R&N update.
I love that stuff.
So I've been a Randy fan for a long, long time,
and it's the RKO.
Yeah, there it is.
At Joseph Rutland on Twitter says,
do you see Cody turning heel in like nine months from now?
Joe, I don't know if it's nine months from now,
but a Cody heel turn.
feels imminent. I don't think it's within this title run. I think that this title run will be a
baby face title run. Maybe it's in the chase for the next title or perhaps title number three.
I just, I don't know if it's nine months from now. I also don't know. I mean, I don't know how long
Cody's going to hold the belt for. I've been saying for a while, I think he loses the belt at some
point in 2024. I don't know if that's SummerSlam or if Survivor series, but I feel like there's
going to be a chase happening. So nine months from now, oh, I see what you did there. Nine months
from now it takes us to WrestleMania. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if it's WrestleMania or I don't
know if it's sometime after that. Nine months in, to me, feels like it could be a little bit too soon.
maybe it's more like a year,
maybe it's more like 19 months.
But a Cody heel turn feels like it's,
it just seems like there's little teases.
It just feels like he,
this character has a lot of heel tendencies,
which I think is really interesting.
So we'll see.
When it does happen,
it's going to be something else.
I mean, Cody is hinted
at the Homelander stuff.
He's very aware, I think,
of what's being said about him and Homelander on social media.
And I haven't even watched the boys,
but I'm aware of what Homelander is all about.
It's going to be so, so good.
At POC 76 on Twitter says,
Hey, CVV, love the podcast and your work.
My question is, what wrestling terms or catchphrases
do you use in real life without realizing or saying so intentionally?
Terms I use are shoot, pop, gimmick, heat, mark.
and until fairly recently,
it doesn't work for me, brother.
I catch myself.
I don't think I realized as a kid
or a teenager the first time I heard
that's the bottom line
because Stone Cold said so.
I don't think I realized
that that's the bottom line
or something to do with a bottom line
was like a normal phrase.
I just thought that was a wrestling catch phrase.
So for me, it was always,
and that's the bottom line
because Stone Cold said so,
like I would always just add on and Stokel said so.
I'm obviously, I mean, I'm definitely not alone.
What and yeah have been completely ruined in my day-to-day life, as I'm sure it has been for you as well.
You just can't say what anymore.
It's always what?
What?
What?
And it's never, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know what I mean.
So those are the two that are obviously.
They are messed up.
Every once in a while, I'm with you here.
I throw gimmick in.
I think it's something today.
I was like, oh, got to grab one of those gimmicks over there.
What am I doing?
No one talks like this.
But yeah and what?
I just completely, completely ruined for all of us.
Fins up, baby.
This is at Bill M-013 on Twitter.
Ask CV. Can you spill the beans on the unaired Paul Bearer's story?
So, if you listen to the episode with The Undertaker, I said, do you have a great Paul Bearer's story?
And he paused and, ah, man, I, I don't think, no, I don't think I should tell that one.
And I said, yeah, if you're thinking about it as much, you probably shouldn't tell this one.
later on that night we all went to dinner you might have seen a video on maven's
instagram it was undertaker godfather midian maven my buddy jameo zach who is maven's producer
and a few other people and at the end of the night undertaker told us that story and it will not
leave the table but i will tell you
It is absolutely hilarious.
And he's such a great storyteller.
So he's getting right into the story.
Oh, my, it was so good.
So I cannot spill the beans on the unaired Paul Barrer story.
And the one he told during the episode was so good.
This one's like 500 times better.
You'll never hear it, though.
You'll never hear it.
At R underscore Collins 19 on Twitter,
What advice could you give to podcasters pre-interview to get rid of nerves and really be settled into it?
I think the biggest thing here, that's Robbie C-18.
Wow, that's funny.
Your username is R underscore Collins 19, but your name is Robbie C-18.
So do you like 18 or 19 better?
Huh.
But Robbie, I think the biggest thing is just stop thinking about them as interviews.
That changed my whole perspective on them.
Because if you think about them as interviews, you're very rarely in life having an interview, right?
You're very rarely in life doing any sort of interview other than like maybe a job interview or like, you know, in a very bad scenario, maybe a police interview.
But like interviews, like very question answer, very formal, like even the term about it.
Like the term of it is just very formal.
And we think about interview with a capital eye, like, oh, it's like a scary word.
I just started thinking about them as conversations.
Because if me and you, Robbie, were to go out for a beer right now, you wouldn't be thinking like, all right, so I asked Chris's question.
And then when he's done answering the question, I'm going to ask this next question that I wrote down here to ask.
You would just be talking and you'd be present and you'd be in the moment.
And maybe there'd be a few things you'd want to bring up.
Like if you were running into an old friend you hadn't seen in like six months, you might bring up like, oh, hey, how's the dog?
or hey, how's the wife and kids?
Or, hey, are you still working that job?
Like, those might be the framework of the conversation.
But you wouldn't get yourself, like, so hyped up about it.
And I think that a lot of times we get just get so into the idea of what this is and what it could mean, right?
And I get that.
I totally understand that.
I think for me, even, I've done a lot of interviews.
I've done thousands of interviews.
I still sometimes get a little just,
I wouldn't say it's nervous,
but I'm like,
I only have this amount of time with this person.
My goodness, I hope it goes well.
And I hope that this topic
and the way that I phrase this question,
I hope that that gets received well.
But I think the best advice that I could give to you
is just start thinking of them as conversations.
Start thinking about them as like,
what if you guys were both at the same party and you happen to bump into each other in line for
the bathroom or in line for a drink? What would that conversation look like and feel like?
It would be much more of a conversation where you're present in the moment, actually listening
to what they're saying and then being able to interact and respond to what they're saying.
So even if in your mind you were going to say, hey, how's your job?
They said something about, oh, yeah, things are going really well.
Yeah, I got a new dog.
You would probably, in real life, jump right into a new dog.
No way.
What's the dog's name?
What kind of dog is it?
Instead of going, oh, cool, a new dog.
So how's your job?
Which is sometimes what happens with interviews.
So have fun with it, too.
That's the, I think that's the biggest thing.
Just to remember that it's two people just having a conversation with each other.
at Mavix Cross on Twitter.
What is your all-time favorite wrestling debut?
Second part is who's your favorite Canadian wrestler growing up as a Canadian?
I still think the best wrestling debut is Chris Jericho.
The countdown to Y2J, the lead up to it in a time when the internet was like still kind of in its infancy.
1999, it's certainly not what it is now.
And social media was a long time from existing at that point.
I just love it's Chris Jericho in a huge moment with the rock.
It sets him up as a major star in the WWF at that point in time.
And there were not a lot of people did a jump ship.
There were not a lot of people that were going from WCW to WWE.
I don't know why I just called it WWF.
and now I called it WWE.
I will continue to call it WWE for the rest of this episode,
so it all makes sense.
That's still my favorite debut,
and everybody knew who it was from the second you saw the silhouette of him with his arms
out,
welcome to Ra is Jericho.
It was just such a great debut.
And I think in that era,
and this is going to make a lot of,
Canadian wrestling fans upset.
You got to remember, I didn't become a hardcore wrestling fan to like 98, 99.
And I say that as a preface because by that point in time,
Brett Hart had already done his work in WWE and was now in WCW.
I wasn't really that familiar with his work like in the day to day.
Obviously, I got very brushed up on it.
I'm a huge Brett Hart fan.
Brett Hart would be my favorite Canadian wrestler now.
But growing up, it was Chris Jericho.
I loved the work that he was doing.
The work that I saw him doing WCW,
I was a huge fan of the work he did in WWE.
So it's funny that my answer now is different from what my answer would have been then 25 years ago.
And yeah, but I mean, it's hard to argue against Brett Hart as the best Canadian
wrestler of all time. But when you ask me, who was my favorite Canadian wrestler growing up?
Well, yeah, it was Chris Jericho that time. Favorite Canadian wrestler of all time?
It's Brett Hart. I feel like that's just, yeah. Is that hit? Oh, my gosh. That was, I didn't even know
we were on the last question here. That was the last question here. Well, thank you guys for sending
in all of these questions on Ask, See,
CVV, the Jerome Bettis edition.
What are we going to do for Ask CVV number 37?
That's kind of an odd number.
Not a lot of people worth 37 or not a lot of like,
like when you think about like 23 or 24,
it's like, oh, yeah, those ones are obvious.
I don't even have to say the name.
You know exactly who we're talking about here.
When we think of 37, it's like, huh,
who's it going to be for 37?
So if you have some ideas for Ask CVV,
number of 37. I've got one in my mind. Played for the Blue Jays. If you're a baseball fan,
I'm sure you know who I'm talking about here. But thank you for sending in all these questions.
I love hanging out with you guys on these ones. And it is great to be back home in Canada.
I'm here until Tuesday. Great to be able to spend some time with the family here.
Excited for my buddy, Basil, who's getting married on Saturday. And hey, if you happen to be
in and around Toronto's at some point this weekend.
Maybe our paths will cross.
But if you happen to be in Toronto in two weeks, money in the bank,
I hope that our paths cross.
I will be in and around, Scotia Bank Arena.
It's going to be a heck of a weekend.
And I can't wait for it.

I love seeing those.

Like all sports podcasts.
We are the number nine sports podcast on Spotify.
All thanks to you guys.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate you guys.
Being here, listen to the show, following the show.
If it's not for you guys, none of this exists.
And if it's not for you guys continuing to show up and continuing to leave those ratings and
those reviews, these big episodes don't happen either. And it's been a heck of a run over the last
few weeks. And I don't want this to stop. We're not slowing down, baby. Next week is Ray Mysterio and
Joe Hendry. And just wait to just wait to see what we're cooking after that. Since I'm in Canada right now,
And since the Oilers are in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Stanley Cup finals, I feel like it's only fitting to leave you with a quote from Wayne Gretzky.
You know the quote, especially if you watch The Office.
But it's such a good quote.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
And another variation of that that I really like is if you don't ask, the answer is that.
always know.
So be great, be grateful, my friends.
We will see you on the next one for some more.
Inside, have an amazing weekend.
We'll see you on Tuesday for episode 619 with Ray Mysterio.
