Oh my goodness. Welcome back to another one here on Insight. I'm CVV, Chris Van Vleet.
Hope you've had a great week. Thank you for being with us. And thank you, as always, for helping
to make Insight one of the top wrestling podcasts on the planet and not just one of the top
wrestling podcasts on the planet, one of the top sports podcasts on the planet. I was just looking at
the charts and on the Spotify sports charts. So all sports podcasts.
we're number seven on there right now.
That is mind blowing to me.
So I appreciate you guys for listening to the show and sharing the show and for the very generous
people who have left a rating or review.
You're the best.
This is the same chart that New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelsey are on.
Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharp, pardon my take, Boston with the Boys, Bill Simmons
podcast, the Pat McAfee Show.
And as of right now, as I'm looking at this,
We are somehow above the Pat McAfee show on this very chart at this exact second.
So thank you.
Thank you so much for just believing in the show and for allowing me to borrow an hour or so of your time a few days a week.
Thank you for being with us on Ask CVV number 37.
As a Blue Jays fan, it's the Dave Steep edition.
But of course, it's also the Patrice Bergeron edition, the meta-world peace edition, and the Dion Sanders edition when he played for the Ravens.
It's weird to think of Dion Sanders as number 37, but yeah, there it is.
It happened.
And thank goodness, my friends, we heard the great news this week.
Chad Gable is still alive.
Yeah, Triple H confirmed that what we saw at the end of Raw with the Wyatt 6 was not a deceased Chad Gable.
so great news that Chad Gable is still with us because I was pretty touch and go there for a little while.
This is your first ever Ask CVV episode. This is simple. I answer your questions that you send in using the hashtag Ask CVV on social media or from the emails that you send, CVV at chris fanvly.com.
Or I think my new favorite is when you guys leave these comments on Spotify. So if you're listening on Spotify and it's amazing how many people are listening on Spotify,
these days. The percentage was like minimal three, four years ago. Now it's just as much,
if not more than Apple Podcasts. Apple Podcasts used to be like 80% of the listeners when you looked
at the breakdown. Now it's like 40-ish percent. And Spotify is right there. So if you're
listening on Spotify, a follow would go a long way on there. A rating would be amazing. And yeah,
leave a comment on there as well. A ton of questions to get into here.
So let's just start out with this one.
Counted Out 7 on Instagram says,
What are you most excited about for Money in the Bank weekend from Tyler and Mike of Counted Out?
I've never been to a Money in the Bank before.
So that's the thing I'm most excited about is just seeing this in person.
I've been to a few ladder matches, obviously.
Those take place at many other different PLEs.
But I'm just excited to see how this all shakes out.
And you heard my predictions last week, my early predictions still feels early even though it's
next week. You heard my early predictions for who I think could win money in the bank.
I feel like the women's money in the bank seems like there's some more obvious choices
there. Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green feel like the real standouts there.
For the men's money in the bank, it could go a lot of different ways.
And that's what I think I'm most excited about.
last year it just seemed like this was going to be L.A. Knight's time. And they threw us a curbaugh at the last second. It was Damian Priest. And then we had the great payoff at WrestleMania with him cashing in on Drew and Drew getting screwed over by CM Punk. That was great long-term storytelling. But going into money in the bank last year, it was just like, oh, yeah, it's got to be L.A. Knight. Like he was the heavy favorite on my bookie. It was just it felt like it was going to be his time. I don't feel like we have that favorite.
going into this one.
This could go three or four different ways.
And I think we might get a little bit more clarity
when we see who the final participants are.
But as of right now,
as of eight days before Money in the Bank in my hometown,
Toronto, Canada, as of right now,
there's not like a super heavy favor.
But we'll chat again next Friday on Ask CV number 38.
And I think we'll have a much clearer picture of that one.
But I think if we're just looking,
at the entire weekend as a whole, I was excited to be back home.
I was actually just in Toronto last week for one of my friends, he was getting married,
and it was so great.
Got to see so many friends and family.
I loved it.
So I don't get to go back to Toronto that often anymore.
It's like two, maybe three times a year.
So that's the thing I'm most excited about.
There's just something about when you get off the plane, Pearson International, you're just
like, home.
I'm here. I can smell Tim Hortons. And I know that as soon as I get out of here, I can go eat some Swiss chalet and get two chalet sauces for all my Canadian friends. You're like, oh, yes, of course. Shalee sauce. It's so good. And I'm just excited to see you guys. I'm going to be there. Money in the bank. Certainly there on Saturday. I don't know about any of the other events, but definitely going to be there on Saturday. So hope to see you around the city or maybe see you inside the Scotia Bank arena. It'd be awesome to just give you a high five.
and chat a little wrestling.
So Tyler and Mike who asked this question,
hope to see you guys there.
Enigma underscore 14 on Instagram says,
do you think the bloodline will have a civil war
when Roman returns?
That definitely feels like what we're lining up for here.
There's no reason why they keep adding
all of these incredible, talented members to the bloodline.
If we're not going to get some beautiful payoff
at some point down the line,
I don't think this is anytime soon.
And I think that the Roman return may not even happen in this calendar year.
He might not come back till 2025.
But I think that as this continues to come together with, first of all, we're still talking
about the bloodline four years into this.
That's pretty incredible.
And there's still so many more layers to this and so many more people that you can add to it
as well.
I feel like when Roman comes back, he's inevitably going to get that huge pop.
There's going to be a massive baby face pop.
And I hope that they keep this as a surprise return.
And I understand both sides of the coin on this one.
If it's a surprise return, it's a great moment.
It's a big surprise.
But on the other side of it, if you announce he's going to be returning like this Monday or this
Friday, the return of Roman rains, you get a lot more eyeballs to the program watching live.
So I could see a case being made for either one.
But if I had to make a very bold,
just stab in the dark prediction,
the very first episode of Raw on Netflix
feels like a great place to have Roman Raines come back at.
And if it's not there,
maybe it's something to do with the Royal Rumble,
but it's obviously something that leads up into WrestleMania.
And maybe it's well before that,
but I know they're going to pull out all the stops
for that first show of raw Netflix.
And it's going to look a little bit different.
I think it's going to feel a lot different.
And I think there's going to be a lot of things
that happen on that first show
that's going to make people go,
oh my goodness.
I need to watch live every single week
because he knows what's going to happen.
So Roman comes back.
I feel like he would definitely be a baby face.
Although Romans, I mean, he's been so good as a heel for so long.
But it feels to me like, yeah, there's a civil war.
A bro in here.
There certainly is.
Eli Gooderer on Instagram.
Do you believe in Joe Hendry?
I feel like I need to put the mic down so I can...
I believe in Joe Hendry.
Of course.
How can you not believe in Joe Hendry?
And if you listen to the episode we had yesterday,
you know that he is so much more than just an extraordinary.
extremely catchy entrance theme.
It's a hell of a wrestler.
It's a hell of a character.
And he's also just a hell of a good dude as well.
The sky is the limit for him.
And we're only halfway through 2024.
This is already the biggest year of his career.
What's he going to continue to do this year to build on that?
I don't think that that appearance we saw on NXT
is the last appearance that he'll have on a WWE show.
Who knows when he'll pop up?
again, but he feels like the L.A. night of this year. Just this total organic growth and this total
organic response from the crowd, both in the arena when he's performing and also online.
Like, Joe Hendry on Twitter is like mega over. I mean, did you see, did you see during game seven
of the Stanley Cup finals? There was a reference to Joe Hendry. And after,
Florida scored their first goal.
They cut to this guy holding this sign and it's like, oh my gosh, like here's these two worlds
colliding.
And I feel like when something like that happens, of course, that person holding the sign was
obviously a huge wrestling fan, but and probably either the camera operator or the director
or the technical director, someone in the control room there, they're also a wrestling fan.
Like they're all in on this.
And that to me just says, like, it shows that wrestling is, it's getting back to that level that we had in the late 90s where it's bleeding into pop culture in a big way.
Like when wrestlers would show up on TRL, you know, MTV's TRL, or when you would have just these like random guest appearances on different popular TV shows.
That's where wrestling feels like it's at right now.
And even though that was just a two-second cutaway shot to a guy in the crowd, it's the Stanley Cup finals.
That game was, I was in Canada when watching that game and like practically half of Canada was watching that,
hoping that the Oilers would win and bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada.
That did not happen.
But hey, there's always next year.
That's what we say as least fans, right?
It's always next year.
Always next year.
but it's hard not to believe in Joe Hendry,
especially when you see all of the support that he's getting from his colleagues,
not just in TNA,
but all across the wrestling world.
He's having his moment right now.
And I love that it's not just a boom flash in the pan.
This has some legs to it.
Do not be surprised when Joe Hendry becomes the TNA world champion
at some point in the next few months,
because that's what this all feels like it's leading up to.
And who knows?
Who knows what happens after that?
But I know I'll be watching.
Anthony Rubino left this one on Spotify on my new favorite spot.
Spotify, my new favorite spot where people leave these questions.
Hey, Chris, what are your thoughts on the longer reigns,
longer title reigns during the Triple H era?
I feel as though there are a few people worthy of dethroning Cody because of Roman's historic
reign.
I feel as though there are a few, you're right, you're right.
There are a few people that were worthy of, yeah, yeah.
I love the longer title reigns.
It makes the championship feel like it means that much more when it's not just being
handed over and it's not just changing hands every six, eight weeks or something like that.
It's really cool.
I don't think we're ever going to see a rain as long as Romans for a long, long, long time,
if ever.
But I appreciate now that these rains feel like they mean something.
And with that said, I think there's going to be another,
I feel like Cody has one more big story to tell
that we can really sink our teeth into during this title reign.
One that's, I think, going to last a few months
or a few PLEs.
I guess he's kind of had that with AJ Stiles,
but whoever he loses the championship two next,
I don't just think it's going to be like,
hey, it's me and you at this event
and then like the title gets dropped.
I think that there's going to be like some meat
to that story. And I agree with you. I feel that there is a few people that are worthy of
dethroning Cody. And I think that Randy Orton certainly seems like one. I feel like if John
Sina would decide to come back, that would also feel like one. A.J. Stiles getting another
title run doesn't sound crazy. And it would actually be pretty fantastic. There's definitely a few
people there, but I've been saying this for a little while. I'm going to stick to it. I think that
Cody's reign lasts another five-ish months, four or five months into Survivor Series, but maybe not
out of Survivor Series.
And if it is into and out-of-survivor series and remains the champion, Royal Rumble, I think,
shakes some things up.
I just don't think Cody goes into WrestleMania next year as the champion.
That would be a really long reign.
Full one year, but the thing, you got to give Cody so much credit.
He's always there.
Cody always shows up.
He is a fighting champion in every sense of the word.
And it's all the things he does behind the scenes.
It's all the weight belts that he signs before every event.
It's all of the meet and greets he does.
It's all of the moments that we see at live events where he's grabbing a fan and bringing
them out for his entrance.
He's doing all of the things that a champion does.
And I know that it's funny.
Ironically, it's these same things that are making some people.
online not like him. Oh, he's too goody, goody. And that's what's going to make his eventual
heel turn so much more interesting. Because it's going to be one of those things where it's like,
I did all the right things. I said all the right things. And you still didn't like me.
And I feel like there's just going to be a beautiful arc to that story.

What kind of impact do you think Jacob Fatu will have on the WWE?
Well, I can tell you this.
If you've never seen a Jacob Fatu match,
you are in for a treat when that first singles one-on-one match happens at like a big WWPLA.
He just does.
I've known Jacob for a long time.
I have always been so impressed by him.
He's such a good dude.
We've got to get him on the show.
Never had an interview with him.
I've had many interactions in many different cities across the United States with him.
But I've never had him on the show.
It's amazing to see the things that he can do for a guy his size.
He just, he moves so quick.
And he wrestles with like this real intensity.
So he's going to have a huge impact.
And I know that there's a lot of.
you know, obviously you've got Zillifat too and his father is Umaga.
Jacob kind of wrestles with that same kind of, it's just an intensity.
I think that's the best word for it.
He has the same kind of intensity as Umaga does.
So if you haven't ever seen him, Russell, go look up some of his matches in MLW.
Man, he's so good.
And just, you just wait.
You just wait.
The impact will, I mean, you're already feeling his impact.
And also, congrats to him.
He really leaned out.
Not that he was ever in bad shape by any means,
but dude got lean for this WWE debut.
So did Tomatanga.
Tomatanga, always in great shape.
Tomatonga, Tomatanga,
Toma Tonga,
dialed it in for his WWE debut.
So you just, you just wait.
You just wait.
It's going to be,
it's going to be a great, great impact.
Dill.T.Y.1993.
Yo, CVV, great batch of guests you've had on recently.
Can you give us a hint at who will be on in July?
And what's a bump that you'd never want to take?
Well, I'll answer the first one first.
I'll give you the whole rundown of who we've already recorded interviews with.
So we have Billy Gunn.
He's actually the next episode.
So he's going to be number 622.
to Muhammad Hassan, that's an interview we recorded a while ago.
So I can't, man, I can't wait for you guys to hear that one.
Basically, in a nutshell, but Haman Hassan was too good of a heel and then got fired.
In a nutshell, I mean, he'll tell the whole story around everything that was going on in
that time of the world and his character was saying some things that maybe was pushing
the envelope a little bit too much.
Also recorded interviews with Shelton Benjamin, Booker T, Charmel.
I'm recording an interview tomorrow with Nigel McGinnis.
I don't know when this probably won't be coming out in July,
but I'm doing an interview in July with the Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix.
She doesn't do a lot of interviews, so very excited about that one.
I think that's basically one little secret one in there.
I don't want to say it out loud in case it doesn't happen.
I don't want to jinx it.
All of the ones I just listed except for,
Beth Phoenix, well, I guess also Nigel McGinnis, those haven't been recorded, but the other ones have
been recorded. Then there's one pretty big one that I just don't want to, I want to say, hey, this one's
happening and then, you know, flights get canceled or schedules change and it doesn't happen.
And then you guys go, hey, what happened to that interview with so-and-so? And then I have to say,
ah, I jinxed it. I jinxed it. I messed it up. So as for the second question, what's a bump that you'd
never want to take. Let's go back to the ECW days. When Rhino was doing pile drivers off the apron
and threw a table on the outside, I always like cringe a little bit every time I saw those. Samman's
wife took that move. Crazy, right? Rino talked about that. Saman's wife took not only a gore through a
table, but then she took pile driver at the outside. That's a move I wouldn't want to take. I don't
know how you protect yourself, whether you're the person giving it or taking it. So there's my,
there's my answer. There's a lot of moves I don't want to take. I'm happy to, I'm going to take a bump
here or there if it's like you've just flatly landing on your back or you're in a submission move,
but I don't, pile driver off the apron, through a table, onto the concrete, no thanks.
I'm good.
Dylan Durkey left this one on Spotify.
Hey Chris, my name's Dylan, and I'm from Wisconsin.
Who do you think is the goat of Canadian wrestlers?
Personally, I don't think you can beat Edge, much love.
Edge is a great choice, but I think that it's really hard to beat Red Heart.
I mean, the best there is, the best there was, the best over will be, isn't just a catchphrase.
When it comes to just in-ring technical talent,
it's true. It's just a fact. He is. The best there is, the best there was and the best there will be.
You ask anybody who's on their Canadian Mount Rushmore, and I've asked this a few times.
Everybody, everybody's first person is, well, it's Brett Hart, and then they name through other people.
And oftentimes, yes, of course, it is Edge or it's Chris Jericho or, you know, there's many other very talented Canadian wrestlers.
but I think the goat Canadian wrestler is Brett Hart.
And it's pretty hard to argue that one.
Pretty hard to argue that one.
This one got emailed in from Grant.
Hey, CVV, I've been listening to Insight for roughly a year now,
including the Ask CVV episodes.
Let me pause for a second.
That's how I know you're a real one.
You've been listening for a year and you still listen to the AskCV episodes.
Thank you.
You're the best.
It's actually, it warms the cockles of my heart
when someone sends me a message and says,
you know what, no disrespect to your guests,
but I think I prefer the Ask CV episodes more.
So there was a point in time
when we were doing these once a month
and it was every other week.
Now we're doing them every week.
I love these because it's our chance
to just hang out, me and you.
All right, let me continue with the question here.
Big fan of everything I've heard so far.
I have a couple questions I've been curious about,
but it may be better suited for one of your guests.
I would also be interested to hear your answers.
We've seen superstars recently calling out Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on what they're saying.
It got me thinking, can wrestlers hear what the commentators are saying throughout the match?
I think the answer for the most part is no.
They're not hearing what they're saying when the match is going on.
When things are happening in front of the commentary table, absolutely.
Of course, they're hearing every word of it.
I mean, it's a person who's saying words six feet away from them.
Yeah, they're hearing that.
But as they're having the match, no, they're not.
hearing what the commentators are saying,
except for when they were doing things in the Thunderdome.
And they were definitely hearing everything
that was going on there with no crowd noise to mask it.
Basically, all you're hearing are the bumps in the ring,
and then you're hearing what the commentators are saying.
So I think that the wrestlers calling out Michael Cole or Pat McAfee
just happens to be like when they're in front of them,
and it's like, you know, a chance to get a little bit of cheap heat.
I think that that's all it is.
I know a lot of people that listen are also UFC fans.
It was so interesting during the pandemic era of UFC when they were having all of those events at the UFC apex, where you would hear someone on commentary, like someone like Daniel Cormier or Michael Bisbing say something.
And then they would say something like, oh, he needs to, you know, he needs to get around to his side here and he needs to lift up his right arm.
you know, whatever he's saying to like, he's basically suggesting, like,
the guy in the match needs to do something here.
And then you would see it happen.
So in those cases, there was no question that they were hearing what was happening.
And it was like, it was so fun to watch those moments play out where, oh, Daniel
Cormier would say, oh, he needs to get up off his back here.
And like three seconds later, that's exactly what the person is doing.
I always thought it was so funny.
The second question you asked here is I work with many college athletes and try to convey them that there is
there is a life after football or basketball, etc. Do you ever ask the people that you interview
about their fallback plans if acting or wrestling doesn't work out or when they age out of the
profession? I ask a lot of wrestlers, especially people who maybe only have a handful of years left
in their career. Do you think about life after wrestling? And the answer for most of those people is yes.
And they think about what they want to do when they retire because especially when you're pro
wrestler. It's a grind, right? It's several days a week. It's 200-ish days a year on the road.
So I think it's when you retire, it's like your life just kind of boom, just comes to a screeching
halt, and it's not that much of a grind anymore. And it's more about adjusting to life back home.
For the other question, I have asked that a lot. Like, what was your fall back plan or, you know,
what were you going to do if wrestling didn't work out? And I'm surprised.
by how often the answer to that question is, I didn't have one. I didn't have a backup plan
because they were so committed to, this was plan A. If I even thought in my mind that there
could be a plan B, I was already planning for failure. And I know that doesn't work out for
everybody. And I'm also aware that the people who I'm so fortunate to have as guests on
this show are the 1% of the 1%. So many people want to be.
a pro wrestler for a living. So many people want to be an actor for a living or a touring comedian or
insert whatever the dream job is here. But I think that there's something to that. And it's not just the
idea of like, I'm going to do this and it's going to happen. But there is a lot of belief in yourself
that needs to exist. So I think for the people who are at the very top, if they're going,
well, I'm still working on whatever, you know, my other, my backup.
plan is, then they're not fully committed to what the plan A is.
So it's always been interesting hearing that mindset from people who are at that level.
And that is by no means advice that I am trying to bestow upon someone who is chasing after
something because the reality is, you know, if one and a hundred make it, that means 99,
don't. If one in a thousand make it, that means
99, don't. You know, the math continues to go on. I could
keep giving these examples, but you get the point. But I think that there's a
real belief in self that needs to exist, especially at that
level, at the very tippy top of the people who are doing this for a living.
Pierce Geiger sent this one in on Instagram. What's up, CVV? I got a fun
question for you. If you got to make a movie to be made on the
and career of any wrestler, who would you choose?
I'll throw two out here.
I'd love to see a movie about Eddie Guerrero.
That movie would probably make me cry.
Or I'd also love to see one about the macho man,
Randy Savage, yeah, macho man.
There's so much there besides wrestling.
He had a baseball career and then his rap music
that he made after.
But who would you like to see a movie on?
Thank you, Chris.
Those would be my two choices.
Eddie Guerrero, number one, for sure,
especially with just the legacy of the Guerrero family
and Hetty Guerrero taken from us far too soon, 39 when he passed away.
And that one hits especially hard when you're older than 39, like I am, and just turned 41 in May.
So knowing that, like, I've been so blessed to have these two additional years that Eddie Guerrero, unfortunately, did not have.
So he had so much more life to live.
Oh, man.
So it's just so sad thinking about Eddie,
but that's one for sure.
And when the Iron Claw came out
and that great story that was told there,
I was thinking, man,
how good would it be to see an Eddie Guerrero story?
And then, yeah, macho man,
I mean, there was talking,
making a Hulk Cogan movie on Netflix.
And we're supposed to star Chris Hemsworth.
And every time I interview Chris Hemsworth,
I'm like, are you still going to be Hulk Hogan?
Are you still getting ready?
You still, you know,
you're working on how?
having the largest pythons in the world brother.
And he's like, yeah, yeah, I'm still working on it.
And who knows what's going to happen?
And I don't know if you are aware of this or not.
But the person who's attached to direct it is Todd Phillips.
So that's the same guy who directed the Joker and is directing Joker 2,
directed The Hangover and all kinds of other great movies.
This is not just like some throwaway movies.
So fingers crossed that this thing still happens.
And that would definitely be on my list as well.
Best Man of the Year
underscore 88 on Instagram
says,
Hey, Chris,
congrats on baby number two.
Is your wife a wrestling fan?
Do you think that she could name six female wrestlers?
That is a,
that's a good question.
And you know what?
I think the answer is maybe.
Let me,
you know what?
Why don't,
why don't we ask her?
instead of me just trying to, you know, guess here.
Why don't we ask her?
So, honey.
We're going to get her.
Yeah, yeah.
Someone asked a question about you.
So, um, yes, about you.
This is my wife, Rachel.
She did an, we did an episode together like a year and a half ago, if you want to go
back and listen to that one.
It's kind of like a recap of our, of our year when right before we had, uh, had a little
girl before we were parents.
Wow.
Okay.
So someone asked a question about it's asked RVV today.
They asked a question of you.
Oh, I like it.
So, and they said congratulations on baby number two.
Oh, thank you so much.
Yeah, a little baby boy.
December 11th is a due date.
Can you name six female wrestlers?
Six female wrestlers.
I think I can.
I think, I mean, when we have Raw or Smackdown or Dynamite on in the background, you're
kind of paying attention.
sometimes when Logan's not crawling all over us.
Okay.
Can you name six?
Trish Stratus.
I mean, yeah, yeah, I probably should have said like current wrestler.
Yes, Trish Stratis is a wrestler.
She's not a current wrestler.
I don't know if they, I don't know if best man of the year 88 was asking for current or not,
but Tristratus.
Well, sure, sure.
Okay.
Ria Ripley.
Yes, of course.
Although she's injured right now.
Yeah, of course, we'll count.
Live Morgan.
Okay, there's three.
All right.
You look deep in thought.
EEO, EO, O Sky.
EEO, EO, O Sky.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
EO.EO. Sky.
Is that four?
That's four.
Who was it?
Tris Stratus, Rea Ripley.
Liv Morgan.
Who's also from Jersey like you?
That's right.
That's right.
People from New Jersey love to talk about being from New Jersey.
I do.
Yeah.
And how good the pizza is.
Tori?
Tori?
Yeah, yeah.
Tori.
There was a wrestler just named Tori.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why can I think of her last name?
There was actually a wrestler just named Tori.
That's probably not he were talking about.
No.
Kelly Kelly?
I mean, yeah.
Yeah, but you're naming all these like, yes.
You're naming all these people.
who Kelly Kelly retired a long time ago, but yeah.
Can you name one more current wrestler?
I'm glad we're not on camera right now.
Yeah, you're deep in the thought.
Bailey.
Yes, there we go.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Wow, that was impressive.
You got six?
Can you name six male wrestlers?
Oh, geez.
Hulk Hogan.
Yep.
Yep, perfect.
You can name more.
Cody Rhodes.
Okay.
Well, are we trying to do current again?
Sure.
Yeah, you could, and you, come on.
You listen to Insight with Chris Van Fleet.
What's his name?
The tribal chief.
Yeah.
Chief, um, wrestling.
Yes.
Oh, my goodness.
How about the guy who says, yeah?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The yeah guy.
I buckle under pressure.
Yeah. This is great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I could see his face.
And it's two initials and it's the city that.
Yeah, yeah, there you go.
L.A. Knight.
That's three, three current ones.
Yeah.
Can I get another hint?
Another hint.
Yeah, yeah, call a friend.
The Scottish warrior.
The Scottish warrior.
What about Joe Hendry?
Yeah, yeah, sure.
Yeah, okay, we go.
Yeah.
Yeah, you believe in him.
The Scottish warrior.
The red-haired guy?
He's Irish, but yeah.
What's his name?
The red-haired guy.
Yeah, the red-haired guy.
Yeah, yeah.
The Scottish warrior.
Why don't I know that one?
What about Samantha Irvin's fiancé?
Oh.
You know this one.
I do.
Yeah, yeah.
He's also Irish.
Rick O'Shea.
Yes.
Rick O'Shea.
I would have gotten that one with a hint.
Oh, yeah, sure, sure.
With a hint.
Yeah, yeah.
Drew
McIntyre
Okay
I think that's five
One more hint
One more
What about any of those people
That's who I'm trying to look at
I'm looking at all these pictures
You'd think that something would
Come to mind
What about the guy with the mask?
Oh the one you just talked to?
Yeah
Yeah
He's the king of mystery
the king of mystery.
Yeah, Ray Mysterio.
Hey!
Ray Mysterio.
Wow, with no help at all.
You got them all.
That was a great question.
We should, this should be a weekly segment.
This should be a, there should be, guys, send in your ask RVV questions.
Wrestling related?
Oh, wrestling related only.
So we can have these fun moments like we just had.
Thank you so much, honey.
Thank you for your patience, everybody.
Appreciate you.
That was so good.
That was really good.
We got to, I'm not joking.
Send in Ask RVV questions because that was probably one of the most entertaining things we've done on one of these.
Mike Donovan 14 on Twitter.
Hey, CVV.
Just want to say I loved your interview with The Undertaker.
I think it's your best one yet.
You scallywag with herpes.
Man, that just, that's nice.
So if you watched or listened to the interview where I was a guest.
on six feet under with Mark Calloway.
Like towards the end of the interview,
I was,
we made some sort of reference to like,
oh,
so many people don't listen to podcasts all the way through
or don't listen to interviews all the way through.
And I was like,
let's come up with like a really silly word
that if you are still listening,
put it in the comments.
And Mark Undertaker
busted out with herpes.
And then through,
you know,
some more chat,
we ended up coming up with scallywag.
And it's amazing. If you go to that YouTube video, me on six feet under, the amount of comments that say scallywag or herpes or scallywag and herpes, it's nice to see.
So in fact, if you're still listening to this right now, we can do a fun little word. I mean, maybe it's dinosaur. Leave the word dinosaur in the Spotify comments or send me a tweet with the word dinosaur to let me know that you're still listening.
You want to make it even more specific?
Send me a certain type of dinosaur.
We're just going wild on this one.
Just getting started fit on Instagram.
Ask CVV-37 the Meadow World Peace.
Ron R test edition.
Hey, Chris, two questions.
Did you get to work out in Taker's Gym?
It looked pretty legit.
I did not.
Although he did offer it.
So when we were setting up everything there,
we did the interview with him in the morning
at the studio that they rent.
So it's the studio that him and Matt rent in Austin.
And then they had a few more episodes to record after that.
One of them being Midian,
who Midian recorded his episode right after.
So I don't think these aired that one yet.
So keep an eye out for that one.
Taker goes, all right, yeah, head to my house.
Here's the address.
And you'll go set up in the gym.
And hey, you can get a workout out of it if you want.
You can fire up the treadmill if you want.
So like the offer was there.
but we just didn't have enough time because we were setting up all the gear and making sure the shot looked okay.
So no, I didn't work out there, but that gym is this, that is the gym that dreams are made of.
That is, yes.
I want to have a gym like that one day.
I think it was 2,500 square feet in a completely separate building off of the house.
That is, that is goals.
I even told that to him.
I said, that is goals.
And him and Michelle work out there, I think it's every day and the kids as well.
That is goals.
Question number two here.
I usually listen to insight on my commutes to and from work, but I watch the Mark Henry,
the Undertaker, and the Mysterio interviews on YouTube.
Could have used a screen or edit to show spots slash other things that you were discussing
like JRE or Broken Skull style.
Have you ever considered using one?
Or what are your thoughts on using one in the future?
You're killing it, man.
Congrats on everything.
And if you move to New Jersey, the best.
pizza the state has to offer is on me. Thank you, Justin. I've thought about it. I've thought about putting up
the clips that we talk about, but I've been burned too many times by copyright on YouTube.
And since YouTube is such a big part of my living, it's a big part of the income that I make,
I just don't want to mess around with it. I can't afford any more copyright strikes. Well, that's not
true. I only have one right now. I could technically afford another copyright strike, but who wants
that? So you'll see that we use the footage on all the shorts that we post. So I need the vertical
video that has just such great B-roll in it. And my editor, Troy Blair, is the most talented
shorts editor on the planet. That is not hyperbole. That is not an exaggeration. That's, it's true.
and I'm so fortunate to have him.
He does such a great job finding the very specific
B-roll of the things we're talking about.
Like, I'll reference.
Actually, here's a great example.
I asked Undertaker, how did he come up with rolling his eyes?
And then he told a story about,
I think I wrestled Greg the Hammer Valentine,
and I did this.
I threw my hair back in the corner,
and Troy went and found the match
and found the exact moment.
It's how good he is.
But when it comes to the full,
interviews, I just, I don't want to mess around with it. And I'm sure there's ways around it,
like put the video in the corner, make it small or like make the video mirror the image so
it's backwards. I'm sure that there's ways around this. I just, I don't want to mess around with it.
Like right now when we upload a video to YouTube, it's 100% content that we have shot and recorded
ourselves. I just don't want to mess around with it because those big corporations, they don't
play. And I don't want to get myself into a situation where we upload a video and because of a 14
second clip in an hour long video, the video gets a strike. So I understand what you mean,
but I'm just not going to mess with it. Fezgeron. Fezoron underscore on Instagram. What is your dream
female wrestler to interview? It's Tristratus. That is simple. And I've done a quick interview with her.
her on the red carpet at the Iron Claw World premiere in Dallas, but I'm still working on lining up a time to do like a full hour long episode with her.
She lives in Toronto.
I know I'm going to Toronto soon.
So it feels like it's something that could happen.
So I don't know if it's going to happen next week, but fingers crossed that that happens in the next few months.
That's, that's a big one.
That's a big one.
Hiss 72 on Instagram.
When will you get Will Osprey on the podcast?
I need it.
This is in all caps.
Well, Will was on the show last year.
Will was on the show in May of last year.
Yes, I get that a lot of things have changed since then.
And I've been trying to make this happen.
When AEW was in L.A.
A few weeks ago, I worked hard to try to get some AED talent in the studio.
And it was difficult.
it was difficult to try to set that up.
We did get my good friend Billy Gunn to join us in the studio.
That's the next episode that you're going to see.
But Will Osprey is one of my favorite wrestlers in the world.
The stuff that he does in the ring just makes you shake your head and go,
that's how.
How?
It's so good.
So, yes, I would love to make that happen.
And it's something I'm working on.
That is generally the answer when someone says,
can you get blank on the show?
Like, I don't know if there's,
I don't think there's a single wrestler
that's currently wrestling right now
or like a legend that I would say,
no, I don't want that person on the show.
So the answer is always yes,
I would love to interview blank.
And for most of the big ones,
like when people are like,
would you interview Randy Orden
or would you interview AJ Styles?
Would you interview Triple Age?
It's like, yes.
And I'm trying to make that happen.
So fingers crossed on all of it.
Chris Sant 104.
That's my good buddy, Chris Santagio.
Go check him out.
He loves championship titles.
And that's why this question is about championship titles.
Yes, very impressive belt collection.
What are your top three championship designs of all time?
How much time do you have here, my friend?
Number one.
So the answer to this always ends up being like, when did you get into wrestling?
Like what era of wrestling means the most to you?
The winged eagle for me, that's number one.
It's just there's something about that belt.
There's just something about it that feels very prestigious.
And you see the classic shots of like Brett with that championship or Undertaker with
that championship or Hulk Hogan with that championship.
That's number one.
Man, it's so tough to narrow us down.
Number two, I actually like the one that came after that, the round eagle.
and that was the first ever replica championship that I owned,
like the foam version with a plastic,
you know,
played on it.
That was the very first one that I owned.
I mean,
it was the second one.
I think it knows.
The winged eagle was the first one.
Then that was the next one.
That was the era when I really became like a hardcore fan.
So like late 90s into the early 2000s before the undisputed championship
became a thing.
So that's,
yeah,
that's number two of my list.
And then I'm probably,
probably going to get a lot of flack for this one.
But I really like the current championship.
I do.
And I understand from a marketing standpoint,
putting the logo,
like gigantic in the middle of it is a pretty good look for WWE
when they're handing these out to the Super Bowl champions
or handing them out to anything that's outside of wrestling,
like when they have the golden championship
and all the celebrities are rocking it.
I really like the current championship a lot.
And I've liked the various different renditions of it.
So yeah, and I'm probably going to get a lot of people going,
I can't believe you like that championship.
I like it a lot.
And I like it the size of it too.
I like that it's a big, a big championship.
So there's my top three.
And I know you didn't say world titles,
but I just kind of took it and ran with it.
Those are my top three world titles of all time.
Maybe, Chris, for the next one.
Maybe we do just top, I don't know, mid-card titles of all time.
because there's some good ones in there as well.
Devin plays guitar.
He wrote this one on Instagram.
If you could have one match with anyone at WrestleMania,
who would it be?
It's the rock.
I mean, you've got to go all the way to the top.
If I could have a match with anyone and if we're talking about this in real life terms
and we're trying to fill as many seats as possible
and obviously nobody's coming to see me,
Russell.
So they come to see the Rock Russell.
Yeah, it's got to be the Rock.
I would love that.
The way the Rock,
the way he tells stories in the ring is,
it's on another level.
There are very few that do it like him.
And I think that there might have been people going,
oh, man, the Rock, geez.
He's 51, almost 52, having this WrestleMania match,
night one main event.
Oh, because he's going to be rusty,
right? Nope. Nope. Not Rusty at all. It was so impressive to see and I can't wait to see
whatever his next match is going to be. I feel like he has only a few matches left. This is one
of those situations that when the Rock's on the card, you've got to watch because it could be
his last match. It probably only has one or two or three matches left. And by the way,
I've been thinking about this for a while.
Remember that promo where Cody Rhodes called out the Rock for a one-on-one match?
And then it was like kind of never really ever talked about again after that.
What happened there?
I got to ask Cody that.
Like what happened?
Call them out for a match.
Like the rock, me and you one-on-one.
And then everyone cheered.
And then we like never came back to that, never addressed it again.
Was he talking about like one day I would like to do this?
Like on my bucket list, rock, I would like to have a one-on-one match with you.
It didn't sound like that.
It sounded like he was calling him out for like something to happen.
I don't know if that was a spur of the moment thing
or like if that was planting a seed for something way down the line here.
I'm just wondering.
I don't know.
It's been something that I've been thinking about for a while.
That guy, Dan 9176 on Instagram,
any suggestion on how to stay motivated in everyday life?
There's a lot to unpack for this one.
that guy, Dan, 9176.
And I will just tell you from my own life experience that starting my day with three things
I'm grateful for, that really helps to shift your whole mindset.
That's a big one for me, realizing that you already have more than you think.
That helps a lot.
And I think another thing for me is just setting goals.
setting small goals, medium goals, and then like big, massive pie in the sky long-term goals.
So you always have something that you're reaching towards and you always have something that
you're striving towards. And along those same lines, like celebrating the little wins along the way.
You don't have to, it doesn't have to be when you reach some massive milestone.
You can celebrate the little wings along the way. If your goal is to lose 20 pounds,
you can celebrate losing one and then losing two and then losing three and then continuing to
celebrate along the way. So I think that those are those have been some pretty big things for me.
And you'll see I've been celebrating a lot of little wins of like, man, we used to be 20th on the
podcast chart and we're tweeting about that. And then we were like top 15, top 10, top five.
You know, pretty steady now at top two or three. It's amazing. It's celebrating those little wins along the way,
I think it's a really big part about it.
And also surrounding yourself with positive people,
surrounding yourself with people
who are going to continue to lift you up
instead of bringing you down.
That's a big part of it as well.
And I'm not saying that if there are people in your life
who are close friends or family members
who may bring you down
or may have an energy that just isn't fun to be around,
we all know people like that.
And I'm sure as I'm saying this,
there's maybe someone that pops into your mind.
Not saying you need to cut those people out, perhaps limit your time around them and maybe spend a
little bit more time with people who bring you up and make you feel good. There's always those people
that when you leave their house or when you leave grabbing a beer or dinner with them,
you just feel good. You know, there's just those people that just excite you. And there's
the people that make you just want to be a better person. And those are the people that I try to
surround myself with all the time. But just know.
I just know, Dan, that it's a daily thing.
It's a daily thing of trying to make today a little bit better than yesterday.
And then the goal is then to make tomorrow a little bit better than today.
Nominon.
And I know that I've been saying your name on Instagram as name man because it's name man, but it's nominon.
How often you take breaks from doing content, especially now that you are taking care of a kid.
Well, I am fortunately not taking care of a kid by myself.
I have a lovely, incredible, amazing wife who it does, oh my gosh.
If I could just be half the person that she is, I'd be doing pretty well.
She is a rock star of a mom.
And, oh, man, it's just been so cool seeing her become the person that she is as a mom.
Ah, man, RVV.
She's the best.
How often do I take breaks?
I'm batch recording a lot of the episodes.
So right now, what did I list off?
Six that we have in the bank.
So I'm fortunate.
Like I don't think, I don't think I have any,
I don't think we're recording any episodes next week.
Maybe one.
Oh yeah, I guess money in the bank.
Maybe one or two.
Hopefully some things come together there.
But I'm taking breaks as often as I can.
And it's a lot of like fly to wherever,
do one or two or three.
three or four interviews.
And then it's like, okay, cool.
If we're doing two interviews a week every week, if I recorded four,
boom, that's two weeks of content right there, plus two Ask CVVs.
I'm trying to be as present as I can be.
And a lot of that means, you know, things that I'm doing in my everyday life for the
podcast, for the YouTube channel, for the social media clips.
A lot of that is like stuff that I'm doing myself that maybe I could ask someone else to do
or hire someone else to do.
I've been doing a little bit more of that recently.
And it's all about trying to find that balance.
So I don't know if I have never taken like many week long breaks.
Like I've never taken like a month off.
And I don't plan to ever ever just do a month of best of episodes.
Because I enjoy this just as much as you guys do.
I love having these conversations and selfishly, you know,
learning from these people who are,
the very best of what they do.
But, you know, I was just, just spent a week home in Toronto.
And, yeah, brought the mic, and we recorded last week's Ask CVV episode from my parents' basement
there.
But a lot of little breaks, a lot of like a day here or there.
But I'm not, probably not going to take a full month off.
Jay Chin Jr. on Instagram is Friday Prince Jr.
an older brother or are you a younger clone?
What's so funny is that when he was in the peak of being Freddie Prince Jr.
With like, she's all that and down to you.
And I know what you did last summer.
He's 10 years, eight years older than me.
I was in high school.
He was in his 20s.
I would often get people that would be like, you kind of look like Freddie Prince Jr.
And then when I was so fortunate to be able to do a lot of,
an interview with him. The first one was over Zoom. It was in, I was three or four years ago.
I made some sort of reference of like, oh, yeah, when I was younger, people used to say I looked like
you. And he's like, bro, dude, when you popped up in the Zoom window, I felt like I was looking
at a younger version of myself. And then there were so many people in the comments where I think I was
on the left side of the screen. He was on the right side of the screen on the Zoom interview. So many people
in the comments were saying, like, it was like a before and after. It was like me on the left and him
on the right or like a younger, him talking to a younger version of himself.
It's so funny that you said that.
I got to get him back on the show.
He's been on three times and he has a fantastic podcast, wrestling with Freddie.
Go check it out wherever you're listening to this right now.
I'm sure you know this, but if you don't, he worked for WWE as a writer for like three
years, two separate stints in like it was 0,8,09 and then 2010, 2011.
he has a brilliant mind for the business,
and you'll love to hear the way that he thinks about wrestling.
It's pretty impressive.
Dami, 7281 on Instagram,
who inspired you to do podcasts?
So I thought it for a long time.
I had a lot of people asking, like,
when are you going to do a podcast?
And I kept saying, I don't need to do a podcast.
I have the YouTube channel.
If you want to see these interviews,
you can just check it out on YouTube.
And I fought it for a long time.
and I fought it for a long time.
And it was actually an interview or conversation.
It was a conversation I had off camera, not an interview with Ryback, who is having some pretty good success with his show at that time.
It was 2019.
And he was like, oh, yeah, you already have the content.
You already have the interviews.
You should just take the audio from those YouTube interviews and put them on the podcast.
And boom, there you go.
You got a podcast.
And so it was actually Ryback who.
kind of, like he answered a lot of my questions early on.
Like I didn't, I didn't understand how to do any of this stuff.
I didn't know that you needed to like host the podcast somewhere.
And I didn't know what an RSS feed was or any of this stuff.
So he really helped me out a lot.
I had a lot of like very beginner questions about all of that stuff.
And I get, the podcast just turned five.
June 24th was the day that the podcast launched.
June 24th, 2019. So just a few days ago, the podcast turned five. And here we are now,
621 episodes in, and I feel like we're just getting started. But my inspiration for the actual
content itself is it's a lot of non-wrestling podcast. Like I listen to a lot of episodes of
modern wisdom with Chris Williamson. I think he does a great job with the style of interviews that he
has. The Tim Ferriss show, like that's an OG interview show. I love the way that Tim
breaks down these people who are high achievers and people who have accomplished things that,
you know, we can only dream of accomplishing. Joe Rogan, when he has guests that I'm,
like, intrigued by, no one does it better than him. There's a reason he's the number one
podcaster in the world. No one is better at having a three-hour conversation than Joe Rogan.
Those are three, Jay Shetty on purpose.
That's another podcast.
I listened to a pretty good amount and School of Greatness with Lewis Howes.
When I listen to those podcasts and maybe you've never even heard of any of those,
there's a few to maybe add to your next, you know, your list, your listening list.
I just love the way that they are able to ask very interesting questions and be able to hold great conversation.
Oh, one more.
Diary of a CEO with Stephen Bartlett.
and the guest list that they have.
Crazy.
I'm working towards that.
I want to be able to have,
I want you to tune in every single week and just go,
man, another great guest.
How does he keep doing this?
So good.

Hey, Chris, I love the show and I appreciate the work that you do.
I'm moving out of state with my wife and dog,
leaving Orange County, funny enough, to go to Oregon for school.
Any advice on acclimating?
Thank you.
I've moved a lot.
I have moved a lot.
I have moved a lot in my career from my hometown Pickering.
I moved to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada for university.
I went to Wilford-Lore University.
It's a little different when you're going to college.
So I won't count that one.
But then I moved to Vancouver.
I knew one person there, like an acquaintance from college.
From there, moved back to Toronto, but like moved downtown this time.
Then I moved to Cleveland where I didn't know a single person.
in the state of Ohio. Then I moved to Florida. I moved to South Florida, Miami, and knew like
one, two people there. From there, moved to Cincinnati where I knew like two people and then moved
to Los Angeles where I knew more people, but still, you know, didn't really have a base there.
I think the one thing that helped me to acclimate to all of those different places that I've lived.
And obviously, Los Angeles now to Orange County because that's where my wife and I,
bought a house. I think the one thing is to try to keep your routines. So for me, the gym is a big part of
that. It was a matter of like getting to the city or town that you moved to and like immediately like,
all right, where's the gym? What's the gym I'm going to join? That was a big part of it of like,
all right, that part of my daily routine, I don't have to think about it anymore. I'm just going to go to
this. This is now my new gym. So whatever that part of your life is, you know, maybe it's getting coffee every
morning. It's like finding that thing to just to start to build a routine around. That starts to make
it feel like home really quickly. I'm big into bass fishing. And when I moved to Toronto and when I
moved to Cleveland and when I moved to South Florida, I very quickly joined a bass club. And this is,
we're going to get real nerdy here. But you meet once a month. You fish maybe one or two tournaments a
depending on what season it is, now you're surrounding yourself with people who have the same
interest as you. And you're starting to build out, even if these aren't your best friends,
these are now people that are like-minded people, that you can at least bounce ideas off of,
share a hobby with, share an interest with. Another one was when I moved to South Florida from
Cleveland, I'm still a Browns fan, but I was a, you know, I was so used to just Brown's fever.
I still love football.
It's my favorite sport to watch.
So when I moved to South Florida, I immediately looked for a Browns bar.
There's a Browns bar in every city.
So I found a Browns bar and started going to watch games there on Sunday.
And then you start to surround yourself with other people who, oh, are you from Cleveland?
Oh, my gosh.
Well, I used to live in Cleveland.
Where did you live in Cleveland?
And it sparks up a conversation.
So those have been a few little things for me.
And yes, I know you're going to ask.
I found a Browns bar in Hollywood, California,
and surrounded by lots of Browns fans.
And it was actually really interesting on,
I think the second or third time I went there,
like, I ran into an old friend from Cleveland.
I was like, what are you doing here?
They're like, what are you doing here?
So that was a really fun thing.
So I think it's just,
it's trying to get yourself into those routines
and trying to make it feel like home.
It's never going to feel like home.
I can promise you that.
But you're going to find things that are better
in your new city.
And you're going to find things that you really
miss from home. And it's going to be a beautiful balance of both of those.

What is your go-to pizza topics?
It's pepperoni.
Pepperoni is the go-to pizza topping for me.
I mean, I'll have other topics on there.
Sometimes it's pepperoni and peppers.
Sometimes it's pepperoni and jalapeno.
Halapeno.
But pepperoni.
I love pepperoni.
more than anything. And my, wow, we are at the final question here. Thank you for joining us and listening
all the way until the end, my fellow dinosaur. This is from Chris with a lot of numbers behind his name
on Twitter. Chris 797-38993. I've never met a Chris that I don't like. What is your favorite drink to
order at a bar? Oh, there are a lot of them. Think right now it's probably,
probably a spicy margarita.
Although I was just at that wedding last weekend and I was drinking quite a few old fashions.
Also, I think my go-to drink for a long time was like a vodka soda with a little bit of lime.
But I just really, I don't know, I'm really feeling tequila these days.
So it's probably tequila something.
Like if we're just going with a standard drink, like, you know, it's just like they're not making you something fancy.
I'm going to probably go with like a tequila soda with.
lime or a vodka soda lime.
If they can make a great old fashion, sign me up for that.
And I am a sucker.
I am a sucker for a Moscow mule, especially in the summer.
There's just something so refreshing about a Moscow mule.
So those are probably my go-to drinks.
But if we were to run into each other at a bar and you wanted to be like, hey, CVV,
can I buy you a drink?
I'll just take a beer.
Let's take some sort of a delicious logger.
I still love craft beers, so that's probably, that's probably what I'll go with.
What a fun one.
You guys are the best.
Thank you so much for hanging out with us.
And being here on Ask CVV number 37, the Dave Steep, Patrice Bergeron, MetaWorld Peace, Dion Sanders on the Ravens edition.
I saw this quote.
It was on the wall at the UFC apex.
And it's from Muhammad Ali.
I was not at the UFC Apex.
I would love to go there, but I haven't been there.
It was a photo that I saw on the wall.
Don't quit, suffer now, and live the rest of your life as a champion.
You don't have to be an athlete for that quote to appeal to you or to speak to you in some sort of way.
Basically, it's not always going to be easy.
There's going to be some things that you got to get through to get to that other thing, but live.
the rest of your life as a champion.
Be great and be grateful, my friends.
Have an amazing weekend.
We will see you on the next one for some more insight
with Daddy Ass himself.
Billy Gunn. See you then.
Jim Rome takes on sports.
Why? Because I have a job to do.
With rapid fire takes.
So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs on this notion today.
No idea what you're talking about.
You're complaining more than you like to breathe air.
It's like you get up in the...
the morning only to complain and cry and moan on social media about things that you don't even
understand.
He's the spitfire of sports smack.
Take advantage of it, but get up in here.
