Starting point is 00:00:01 Oh yeah, welcome back to another one here on Insight. I'm CVV, Chris Van Fleet. Hope it's been a great week for you. Thank you for being with us. Thank you for making Insight the number one wrestling podcast on the planet. And I'm guessing because you're here on an Ask CDV episode that you're already following the show. But if by chance, I'm speaking to you right now and you're listening to this show and you're
Starting point is 00:00:44 listening to this show and you thought you were following the show, but you haven't yet because it's always just showing up on your feed and it's showing up as a suggested show, go in and check right now. If you're listening on Spotify, does it say following? Oh, because you're already following the show or does it say follow? Like you haven't done it yet. Or if it's on Apple Podcasts is the little, I think it's the check mark. Is it in the top right? Are you following the show? Just check right now to see. And if you're not, please take a second, it would mean so much to me. I know. It's just so, it's, you know, just you clicking a button. I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but it means a ton.
Starting point is 00:01:23 So if you could take a second to click that follow button, that would be amazing. What did we think of money of the bank? If you listen to the last Ask CVV episode, my predictions weren't exactly great. But I also did say like the Sammy Zane and Bronn Brewer match, that one just felt like a coin toss. Like it really could have gone either way. I will say I'm surprised that the brawn breaker streak is over like i think it's over before it was even able to really be a streak and that feels like it was done by design because if this kept going on week after week and then pl a p le after p le it would turn into a thing and then we'd be talking about it and then it would turn into who's going to break the streak well it really didn't have a lot of time to develop so big match
Starting point is 00:02:10 big p le intercontinental championship match he doesn't get it done i feel like the intercontinental title is definitely in brawn breakers future sometime in the next few months. But I loved the PLE. It was so great being back in Toronto. It's kind of one of those cool moments. And we'll talk about it during this episode quite a bit. But one of those cool moments where I know exactly where I was when John Cena announced his retirement. I was right there in Scotia Bank Arena hitting the people on my left and right going, what? No, I mean, first of all, it was he's here. What? Trish Strat has been there. That was a lovely surprise and a nice late edition.
Starting point is 00:02:52 And then Trish doing this intro and we're like, is she saying what we think she's saying? Oh my gosh. John Cena's here. We thought it'd just be a nice little appearance like last year at Money in the Bank where he just kind of comes out, rah, rah, rah, comes out and says he's retiring. Wild.
Starting point is 00:03:10 It was very unexpected, but I think there's going to be a lot that's going to play out in the next year and a half from that announcement, and we'll get into it. Welcome to Ask CVV number 39, the Dominic Hachick Edition. The Dominator, one of the all-time great goalies in hockey. And hey, yes, if you're a Yankees fan,
Starting point is 00:03:33 Daryl Strawberry on the Yankees, number 39, but I mean, really, this is the Dominic Hachic edition. So thank you for being with us. It's simple. You'll send in your questions using the hashtag, ask CVV on social media also CVV at chris fanfleet dot com and i don't seem to see the the comment section the Q&A section on spotify anymore maybe they've moved some things around i don't see it but if you see it
Starting point is 00:04:01 in a different spot let me know leave your questions on there we did grab some from there but i don't know what happened i was loving that so much the what did you think of this episode and then you guys were leaving these lovely questions about the show. But we will figure that out. Also, a lot of asks RVV questions. I dragged my wife Rachel in a few weeks ago, and now you guys have a ton of questions for her. So we'll get to at least one RVV per episode.
Starting point is 00:04:31 There might be, I think there's a few in this one. But let's dive into this. This is an email from Kalyn Audlem. He sent this in and said, Hey, Chris, my name is Kaylin. I'm from Australia. I'm a big fan, mate. My question is,
Starting point is 00:04:43 with John Sina announcing his retirement tour for all of 2025. Do you think we will get the big 17 time world record and have a short run towards the end of his tour and then dropping the title to an up-and-comer? Cheers, mate. Great question. We've got a lot of John Sina questions here. I mean, it's really the biggest news of the week for sure.
Starting point is 00:05:05 I appreciate that this is being billed as the John Sina retirement tour. This reminds me a lot of when Kobe retired or when Derek Jeter retired and then you know that this is the final season. There's no question about it. If John Sina is coming to your town and tickets are available, you better go because you will not have another chance to see him live. And I appreciate that they're saying that now in July, and this is going to happen or begin in January of next year. I appreciate that we know this. So I think they're going to be very clear on the dates when John Sina's there. And he said he's working 30 to 40 dates. I really wonder how many matches are in there. And I think a lot of people are
Starting point is 00:05:50 misconstruing this as 30 to 40 matches. This is 30 to 40 dates, he said. Obviously, some of those are just going to be appearances to set up matches. You've also got a lot of big matches in there. And then I think peppered in there, there's going to be some up-and-coming matches. Like, I feel like Bronner versus John Cena's going to happen at some point. But of course, we're going to get John Sina versus Cody, I'm sure. We're going to see John Sina versus C.M. Punk again. John Sina versus Randy Orton and many other matches. So do I think he's going to get the big 17-time world record?
Starting point is 00:06:26 Yes. And they've been calling him the goat for a while. That is not an accident. I truly think that that's them planting a seed. That's WWE planting a seed of he's the greatest of all time. He's the greatest of all time. They're now going to crown him as a great thing. greatest of all time. They're going to have him break the record that Rick Flair's been holding for so long.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Although if you ask Rick Flair, he will tell you he has far more championships than just 16. That's a story for Rick Flair to tell you. And I think he actually did talk about that when he was a guest on the show. But I think that they are going, they've been saying the John Cena's the goat. They're going to cement this with that number, 17. He's the goat. He's going to retire with 17. And then who knows? You know, there's the opportunity at some point in time for maybe Randy Orton to break that record. We'll have to see how that all shakes out, but yes, I think he drops the title. And I think with Rob being on Netflix and Sina announcing this now, it just adds even more fuel to the fire of why Raw on Netflix is going to be must-see TV, at least for those first few weeks. I think that this is a brilliant strategic move both by John Sina and by WWE. And it means that every single time, John Sina,
Starting point is 00:07:43 seen it is on a show, whether that's raw or it's Smackdown or it's a PLE or even some live events. I think they may throw one of those in there to make it just a massive live event. I think that anytime he's announced for a show, it now means something. It means you have to tune in because if he only has 40 dates and you're seeing him on this one, well, now he only has 39 more dates, 39 more chances to watch him either live in person or live on TV making this thing happen. I can't wait. It's going to be an epic run from John Sina. I don't even want to say this to put it out into the world, but I feel like it needs to be said. I am knocking on wood and I'm crossing my fingers as I'm saying it. I just hope that he stays healthy. And I hope that he stays
Starting point is 00:08:28 injury-free through from now until the end of 2022. I can't wait to see it. Aidan Morris sent this one in on Instagram, Aidan Morris 46. Hey, CVV, I've watched every single Ask CVV. Who do you think John Cena's last match will be against? I think there's two big questions, Aden. Who will John Sena's last match be against and who will John Cena's WrestleMania opponent be? Those are the two big questions right now. And I think that they're going to be two different people. When we look ahead, I'll start with WrestleMania. When we look ahead to WrestleMania, it feels like right now, and of course there's a ton of time between now and April of next year, but it feels like we could set up John Sina versus Randy Orton because it feels like they've already been planting seeds for
Starting point is 00:09:20 Cody versus Randy Orton. So if it's Cody versus Orton and Orton wins the championship, this now sets up Randy versus John Cena, WrestleMania 41. That just feels like. like it makes so much sense. And brief little side track here, could you imagine if we get John Sina versus Randy Orton or John Sina versus Cody, maybe that's a possibility at WrestleMania 41 on one night and then we get Rock versus Roman on another night? Oh my goodness. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:09:56 So I think that Randy Orton is either one of those spots. He's either the WrestleMania opponent or he's the last match. I could also see John Sina being the company guy that he is. I could see his last match being against someone who he's putting over and someone who, like an up-and-comer that he's putting over and making them seem like a massive star. Like they're John Sina's last match. Oh my gosh. I also think, I mentioned the Rock.
Starting point is 00:10:23 I also think there's maybe a possibility. I mean, this seems like an outside shot. But it seems like there's a chance to get another John Sina versus. is the rock match. There's so many possibilities here. And this is what's so exciting about all of this. I love it. The odds are actually out right now. You know that I love talking about my bookie.orgie. And yes, you can bet on WWPLEs on there. There's a ton of stuff you can bet on there. Use the code CVV to get a 50% welcome bonus when you sign up. There are odds right now. And these are in order from most likely to least likely for who John Cena's
Starting point is 00:11:05 WrestleMania opponent will be. Randy Orton is at the top of the list. Then it goes to Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Raines, The Rock, Batista, Gunther. And then it starts to get into, I mean, Kurt Angle is listed next. I think if you ask Kurt Engel, he would say, I would love that to happen. But he would also tell you, I can't do it anymore. And then Bronbaker is on the list. And then it gets into complete silliness.
Starting point is 00:11:30 after that. I think a lot of those people listed there, at least the first five of them, are definitely John Cena opponents in 2025. Randy Orton, sure. Cody Rhodes, for sure. CM Punk, yes. Roman Raines, that feels like one that's going to happen. Gunther, I feel like that's also a possibility as well. There's just so much, it's just, it's amazing that here we are in July talking about wrestling matches that are going to be happening six months from now and beyond. It's cool. It's such a cool time to be a wrestling fan right now. Charles from Youngstown, why did I say Youngstown? Charles from Youngstown on Facebook says, yo, CVV, who do you think inducts Sina into the WWE Hall of Fame? Well, if it was two years ago, the answer would have been easy.
Starting point is 00:12:22 The answer would have 1,000 percent been Vince McMahon. This would have been like the Undertaker situation where Vince McMahon inducts the top star. And obviously, that's not happening. And that also means there's not such a clear choice anymore. I've heard people say Kurt Engel, and that could make a lot of sense. I mean, that's the person who's seen him start his career against. Ruthless, Agassian with a slap to the face. It's also who Angle wanted for his retirement match at WrestleMania 35.
Starting point is 00:12:53 That obviously didn't happen. I don't know if it's going to be Kurt Engel. I think a smarter choice, at least right now, as we sit here, feels like Triple H. Triple H is in that Vince McMahon position as kind of the face of the corporate side of the company. And of course, in the ring, John Sina and Triple H have quite a history together, including their match at WrestleMania 22 and the three-way match at WrestleMania 24 with Orton also thrown in there. So if I was making betting odds, I would say Triple H feels like the choice if it was me. If it was me booking this, that's who I would go with.
Starting point is 00:13:36 But I think you can make a really strong case for a lot of different people. Yeah, Randy Orton could also be someone inducting him, especially if Randy Orton is in fact John Cena's last match. But it's just, again, it's just very exciting that we're talking about all. of this stuff. Gruff Griffin on Instagram says, what was the best part about coming home to Toronto for money in the bank? I mean, selfishly,
Starting point is 00:14:05 it was being able to see some family and friends that I hadn't seen in a long time. So that's number one. But I think on the wrestling side of things, I mean, it was pretty cool to be in the building when John Cena's announcing his retirement. That was amazing. Also, it was so cool.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I went to the super store early in the day on Saturday, and I ran into so many of you guys. And we chatted some wrestling. We exchanged some handshakes and hugs and high fives, and we took some photos. That was really cool. It was right next to the CN Tower. And that area of Toronto just means a lot to me. I used to live in 81 Navy Wharf, if you know, the city at all, which is the building that is literally the closest to Roger Center, where the Toronto Blue Jays play in the same building where
Starting point is 00:14:54 WrestleMania 18 was. Right before I moved to the U.S., that was where I lived. So here I am a stone's throw from the building I used to live in at the super store, also a stone's throw from where money in the bank was going to be. And just being able to hang out with you guys was really cool. And also I went to one of my favorite Toronto restaurants, Jack Astors, and I got their very famous cheesy garlic loaf, which is incredible.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And yes, I ate some pizza pizza. It just tastes like nostalgia. It tastes like home to me. It tastes like 2.30 in the morning after having a bunch of drinks in college. And, uh-huh. Yeah, I know you're going to ask. I went to Swiss chalet and I got double chalet sauce.
Starting point is 00:15:43 So good. So, so good. I thought that money in the bank was a lot of fun. I think that it's obvious when I say the match of the night was the women's Money in the Bank ladder match. I got that one, right? I called that one. I feel like I've been calling that one for a while.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Tiffany Stratton winning that one. She's going to be fun watching that whole run of her as money in the bank and miss money in the bank. And then that leading up to for sure. I mean, her cash in is going to be successful. I can't see that going any other way. Timothy Patterson on Instagram says, Hey, CVV, thank you for asking Triple H the question about Damien Priest,
Starting point is 00:16:28 not kicking out during his match against Seth Rollins and Money in the Bank. What do you think happened there? Well, I asked the question to Triple H because I watched that clip back, like a dozen times. And he took the move so clean, but then he didn't move. Like, I thought he might have got knocked out. That's why I phrased the question of Triple H as like, is he okay? Like, is he, was he like physically not able to kick out?
Starting point is 00:16:57 From what I understand, it was supposed to be one, two, and then Drew's music hit. And obviously, that didn't happen on Q. I still don't get why Damien Priest still wouldn't kick out, though. And I get it would be one, two, and then we would cut. to the entranceway, we wouldn't even see that. But still, one, two, maybe you kick out at two and seven-eighths, even if the music is hitting. But it just made for a really strange moment. It was a moment that everyone was kind of scratching their head about. And that's why I just want to ask AAA's like, what happened there? What was supposed to happen? And what do you do? What do you do now
Starting point is 00:17:39 from this? But as I understand it, it was supposed to be Drew's music hitting, coming out, And his music still did hit. It just hit a little bit late. And, you know, mistakes happen. This is live television. Mistakes happen. Not everything's always going to be perfect. This actually leads into the next question here from Michael Lane for real on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Do you think Drew's winning Money in the Bank slash failed cash in was a waste? I don't think so at all. I will say that just as a fan, I love the person that holds money in the bank and that is kind of in their back pocket for a while. Like, they've got this for months and months and months, kind of like how Damien Priest held on to this until WrestleMania. Or I think back to like Ziegler's incredible cash in,
Starting point is 00:18:34 oh man, Alberto Del Rio. He held that for so long and finally cashed in on the raw after WrestleMania and the pop was massive. I like when they hold it for a while. But for this storyline of everything that Drew has going on with CM Punk, this made a ton of sense. Like CM Punk just keeps screwing over Drew McIntyre. And when they finally have the chance to get in the ring together,
Starting point is 00:19:00 there's going to be so much animosity here. They're hitting a boiling point right now. And I feel like every single time that Drew goes for the pin, whether it's him getting screwed, at WrestleMania or it's Drew getting screwed at Clash of the Castle or now Drew getting screwed again at Money in the Bank. It just adds a little bit more to that feud. And I think that when this match finally happens,
Starting point is 00:19:29 everything's just going to come to a head here. And that's why I think that for the sake of the money in the bank briefcase, kind of being held in collateral here, it was exchanged. Instead of being exchanged for a title. shot or a title victory here, it was exchanged for more heat being added to this feud. And I, if you watch the fan event, they had the day before Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre went out there and like, they were really making a point about this whole like getting screwed over thing.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Like he said to Michael Cole, like, remind everybody again. Like, how many times have I been screwed over? Yeah, that's right. Like, I'm not going to stand for this. It just adds so much more to that. And I think that Drew versus CM Punk is going to be an all-time. timer, but I can't wait for it. I will say that I wish we were, I wish we were always talking about like every single time. There's a big match, whether it's SummerSlam or Survivor series or bad
Starting point is 00:20:28 blood or whatever it happens to be. I always love that that's in the back of your mind. Ooh, is Mr. Money and the Bank's music going to hit? Ooh, are they going to come out here? Ooh, are they just going to tease the cash in? I've always loved that. But for the sake of this storyline, just wait. I think that that's a big thing that wrestling fans have trouble with. Just wait. Maybe that doesn't make sense right now in July, but just wait. Okay, let's see how this plays out. Perhaps you don't agree with it now. Let's see where this goes with Drew and CM Punk, and then let's have a conversation about it. And then let's see if this all makes sense. Chase Cola sent this one in on email.
Starting point is 00:21:18 What's up, Chris? Been watching you for a few months. And I just found out a week ago that you do these Ask CVV episodes on Spotify. I primarily watch your interviews on YouTube. I have to ask you, what was your first holy shit moment as a fan? Whether it was a return slash debut slash upset win, loud pop, etc. I will credit CM Punk's return as mine. I casually watched most PLEs and spent time trying to figure
Starting point is 00:21:42 route wrestling throughout 2023. When I saw the reaction of punk, I knew I was watching something special and historic, and I haven't missed a raw Smackdown or PLE since that moment. Thank you for the constant videos and podcasts. People like you are so important to us newer fans. We learn about wrestling and wrestlers through you, and I'm super thankful that you do this. Well, Chase, that is very nice. Thank you so much. If we're talking about moments that I just watched on TV, I think it's either of C.M. Punk's returns. I think that the, the AEW return to wrestling isn't talked about enough in 2021. Like that happening isn't talked about enough for the importance that it had, not just to AEW, not just to his eventual return to WW, but just for wrestling as a whole.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Like, nobody thought that C.M. Punk was ever coming back. And after seven years of C.M. punk chance all around the world. It finally happened. And I also think a big thing that's not talked about with that AEW, or that AEW debut, but the return to wrestling is where the world was at. We were a little over a year with, you know, after shutdowns and the world being in quarantine and empty arena shows, then shows with half crowds there. This was one of the first full capacity pro wrestling shows that had been televised. And for that to start off with this insanely improbable return was huge. And that's why when they cut to the shot of the guy in the crowd and he's crying,
Starting point is 00:23:30 it makes sense. It's not just CM Punk returning to wrestling. It's like this line in the sand being drawn of like life is normal again. after life being like wearing masks everywhere and like you wear a mask to get into the restaurant, but then when you sit down, you can take the mask off, but then when you stand up to go to the bathroom, you can take it off. It was finally like, okay, we can sit in an arena next to people if you felt comfortable enough to do that.
Starting point is 00:24:01 In a sold out arena in Chicago, you can sit there and life just felt normal again. And then, oh my gosh, we have this huge thing to cheer. about. That's one for sure. Edge returning to wrestling, that's a huge one. And just the look on his face, I think, I mean, I watched that clip so many times. That look on his face, I mean, I get goosebumps just talking about it right now. But when I watch it, I get all the feels because this is a man who was told he couldn't do it anymore. You know, Adam Copeland's dream was to be a pro wrestler. He was most likely to be WWF champion. It's in his yearbook.
Starting point is 00:24:42 He does the dream. He lives the dream. He's doing it. And then it's taken away from him. It's completely out of his control. It's taken away from him. And then he earns it back. And then he gets it back.
Starting point is 00:24:53 And that's the expression that we see on his face there. And I think that that's so cool. And I know it was kind of teased when he made the appearance of SummerSlam in Toronto the year before. It was like, ooh, he gave a spear. Okay. If he can give a spear to Elias, is he capable of doing more? Or is that just like a one-off thing?
Starting point is 00:25:14 And then, obviously, January 2020, that question got answered. That's another big one for sure. And then CM Punk returning to WWE, it's huge. And I was in the arena. I've told the story many times before. As soon as that match ended, as soon as the Survivor Series main event ended, we went into the press room and we were getting ready for the press. conference, so I missed it happening. I was there. I was in the building, didn't hear the pop,
Starting point is 00:25:42 I wasn't there to see it. I watched it on a tiny little monitor in a little room off to the side. But of course, I've watched it many times since, and it's obvious, even if you're not a wrestling fan, it's obvious to see what the significance of that moment is. We never thought CM Punk would be back in wrestling, period. Then he debuts in AEW. Okay, all right. Wow. Would he ever go to WW? I don't know. I don't know. He said a lot of things about WWE that weren't exactly very nice, but the tide has changed, right? He said a lot of not nice things when Vince McMahon was running the ship. Vince McMahon is not there anymore. Hmm. Triple H is really mended a lot of these relationships.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Could this happen? And then boom, it does. And I've mentioned this many times before, but the way that that arena in Chicago is set up, it was just last. loud. Like it's not the biggest, obviously not the biggest arena or stadium I've ever been in, but from the first match until the end, I was just like, it's loud in here. And there's something about just the setup of that arena. The ceiling's a little bit lower. The ceiling is also made of wood, so it has great acoustics in there. It was just loud. So you've got this, it's lightning in a bottle. You've got this beautiful arena with incredible acoustics. And then you've got this moment that we never thought would happen. So there's three for you right there.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Yeah. I mean, there's many, many, many more. There's also like moves that happen. We'll get to it. Another question here in a few. There's certain moves that happen or certain finishes that happen or things like that. But those are three for me. I think returns are such a cool thing. And surprises are what makes wrestling so cool. And even in this era of everybody knowing everything or thinking they know everything online, it's cool that some true surprises can still exist. Viceroy underscore Shaheen on Instagram says tips for slowly shifting to a healthier diet. I think some really, really small, really basic ones are like, if you can cut out all soda and juice, you will be on such a great path. I know that might not be an easy thing to do if you're used to
Starting point is 00:28:08 drinking soda or juice every day or multiple times a day, but that's a really big one. If you can start to trade your soda in for water or at worst sparkling water, like no added sugars and no fake sugars, no aspartame or any of that stuff in those drinks. If you can start to drink a lot more water, period, that's also a, big step. And I think another one, I don't know what your diet currently looks like, but eating out less. So if we're slowly shifting to a healthier diet, if you're eating out, I don't know, once a day right now, so seven days a week, you're having a meal that is either at a restaurant or it's some sort of takeout meal. If you're slowly working to a healthier diet, go from seven to six.
Starting point is 00:28:56 And then maybe go from six to five, go from five to four. If you work at a place where you're bringing your lunch or you have a lunch break. I know when I used to work in an office, most of my coworkers would go out for lunch every day of the week. So that's five, you know, meals that you cook at home are almost always, depending on what you're making,
Starting point is 00:29:18 but almost always healthier than a meal that you're buying at a fast food restaurant or fast casual restaurant or just even a sit-down restaurant. So if you're bringing your lunches to work with you, And that's five days a week. Sorry, it's five meals a week, obviously, five lunches a week. If you have the option to do that, yeah, maybe instead of eating out five times a week for those lunches, maybe move it to four, then work down to moving it to three. I think a huge stigma around making your own food is that it's expensive. And I think that that one needs to stop. Like, eat some eggs for breakfast with some healthy toast like Ezekiel toast and maybe some berries.
Starting point is 00:30:01 that meal will cost you like $3 or less. I mean, a few eggs, I don't know what, if, for the sake of argument, if a dozen eggs is $5 and you're eating two eggs, that's less than a dollar for your eggs. If you slices of toast, that's going to be less than a dollar. A few berries, that's also going to be way less than a dollar. Your bread's probably 50 cents. I think that's a big thing.
Starting point is 00:30:26 So not only are you eating healthier, you're also saving money along the way. But just little steps. Like, just make the healthier choice when it's available. Just little steps along the way. Prize Picks is America's number one daily fantasy sports app with over 5 million active members. We go from one food question to another one. Hey, Chris, question for asked CVV. Would you partake in an episode of Hot Ones? I think the conversation between you and Sean would be excellent. Love the show,
Starting point is 00:34:00 Congratulations on everything that's going on for you, dude, well deserved. Thank you so much, Kieran. I'm a big wing fan. I've mentioned this many times before. I love chicken wings. They are one of my kryptonites. Chicken wings and pizza. Oh, my kryptonites right there.
Starting point is 00:34:20 So, yes, of course I would love to be on hot ones. I don't know how I would handle the hotter sauces, though. Like, I like hot wings. Like, if you and I were to go out and grab a beer and grab some wings, I would definitely grab like, they'd probably get hot buffalo or hot barbecue, but they're having, like these are like the crazy like 911,
Starting point is 00:34:39 like burn your tongue off wings. And I like hot wings to be tasty and delicious, not like putting, you know, making me in pain. But I would go for it. I would absolutely go for it. And I think that the questions that Sean asks are so good.
Starting point is 00:34:58 He's a lot like Nardwar. And if you know who Nardwar is, you know, exactly what I'm talking about here. Nardwar is, he interviews mostly musicians, and it's crazy. I've known Nardwar for years. I remember growing up watching him on much music in Canada. And then when I was living in Vancouver and working for MTV to Canada, our paths crossed quite a bit at different interviews. So it was cool to get to know Nardwar and like get to pick his brain a little bit.
Starting point is 00:35:28 he's so talented. Like he will bring up stuff like who your third grade teacher was or like he'll like bring a message from like your neighbor from when you were nine. It's just it's crazy. And his answer is always so good. They'll be like, man, how do you know that? How do you? And you're blowing my mind.
Starting point is 00:35:51 How do you know that? You're a little loosey vert. We have to know that. It's so good. It's, uh, it's so amazing. I would love to have a conversation with Sean. I'd love for him to be a guest on the show. Or it seems incredibly unlikely that I would ever be on hot ones, but never say never, right?
Starting point is 00:36:11 So yes, that would be so cool. And I would do whatever I could with tears streaming down my face, I'm sure, to finish those wings. I also wonder, they're sitting there for the entire interview. how cold are those wings getting? Because, yeah, cold wings are still wings, right? And wings are delicious. But there's nothing better than wings that are fresh out of the kitchen
Starting point is 00:36:36 and that are warm to hot. Like, I don't know, you've been sitting there for 20, 30, 40 minutes, maybe an hour. By the time you get to the hottest wing or the, by the time you get to the final wing, they've got to be pretty cold, I would think. Just saying.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Rob Ellis emailed this one in. Chris, hello, big fan from the UK, loving the show. My question is, who in your opinion has had the best and most successful gimmick change in the history of professional wrestling? Who has changed character completely and turned their career around to achieve unbelievable success? I know this is a tough question, so maybe you're top three. Keep doing what you're doing and best wishes to you and your family, Rob. That's a good one. That's a good one, Rob. I think the first gimmick that immediately pops into my head is Stone Cold Steve Austin. Like the contrast from stunning Steve Austin to Stone Cold is huge. And if it's not for Steve Austin becoming what he was with Stone Cold, I mean, there's a whole butterfly effect with that. If he's not the character to kind of carry the torch into the attitude era, I don't know, a lot of things change, right? So that has to be the biggest one to me.
Starting point is 00:38:00 If you look at the stunning Steve Austin character in WCW and then you look at what Stone Cold Steve Austin was in WWF at the time, they are polar opposites. I think another one, another huge one, is mean Mark Callis to the Undertaker. Like, what a huge gimmick change there. And if mean Mark Callis kept just spinning his wheels in WCW, even after being told, yeah, you're never going to make any money, he just would have come and went,
Starting point is 00:38:32 and that would have been the end of Mark Calloway's wrestling career. But by the grace of God, he got the undertaker and turned that into what it was. And now it's one of the most iconic characters in the history of wrestling. Along that same vein, you've also got Dr. Isaac Yankham to Kane. like it's hard to believe those are even the same person. Dr. Isaac Yankham with this very silly dentist gimmick and, you know, and I get that at that time in the 90s, it was a very gimmick-driven time in pro wrestling,
Starting point is 00:39:12 but Dr. Isaac Yankham was not going to be a world champion. Kane completely changes things. And if it's not for Glenn Jacobs getting that gimmick of Kane and the whole backstory there that's now tied into The Undertaker and Paul Bear, I mean, that changes his whole career. And it also adds a lot to the lore of The Undertaker, which I love. So you ask me for three, those are three big ones. There's obviously a ton of other ones where the person goes from awful gimmick to life-changing gimmick that wins them world championships. I'll give you one more just because Undertaker brought it up during our interview.
Starting point is 00:39:53 but think of the huge difference between John Bradshaw Layfield and Bradshaw and the APA, who's a great tag team wrestler, really good in the midcard, but then when he becomes JBL, boom, skyrockets him right to the main event, the incredible program that he had with Eddie Guerrero and all those matches. There's another one, but it's just amazing that it's right place, right time, right gimmick, and right person. because sometimes these gimmicks are just, you know, it's an idea, especially when it was Vince McMahon coming up with these ideas. He's just saying, hey, your character's not really working right now. We have this gimmick for you. See what you can do with it. And then sometimes it's a wrestler who's taken a little bit of their personality and turning that up to 11. And I think in both situations, you're able to, if it's the right person, the right time and the right gimmick, all of the that comes together, man, it can, it can just be magic.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Michael Bunch sent this one on Facebook and said, what's a moment that you wish you could have been in the crowd for? How much time do you have, Michael? There's so many of them. I'll give you two that immediately pop into my head here. How cool would it have been to be there at Bash of the Beach, 1996, when Hall Cogan comes out as a third man and forms the NW. with Holland Nash.
Starting point is 00:41:24 I mean, that's one of the most important moments in the history of pro wrestling. The 28-year anniversary of that just happened a few days ago, July 7th, 1996. To be in the crowd for that, like, fans were so upset, so visibly upset that they were throwing trash into the ring. What a cool time in WCW when that was kind of like
Starting point is 00:41:49 an accepted thing. or if it, I don't know if it was accepted, but it certainly wasn't like going to get you kicked out of the arena. But to see the iconic video or the iconic photo of Hogan cutting that promo with Meen Gene next to him and the ring is just full of trash, amazing. That would have been so cool because nobody saw that coming. Like, I think that Hogan was in that same situation that John Sina was in for his whole
Starting point is 00:42:18 career. It's like, I mean, this guy can't turn. And I know it took, Hogan even told me this during our interview, it took a lot of convincing. It took a lot of convincing from Eric Bischoff for him to finally turn heel. But then it ended up becoming one of the best things in wrestling. So that's one of them. And when we're talking about surprises, how amazing would it have been to be in Pittsburgh to see Mick Foley get thrown off hell in a cell?
Starting point is 00:42:48 that came out of nowhere. And when you watch the match back, you know, they start the match on top of hell and a cell, but you're expecting at some point they're going to crawl back down or climb back down and get into the ring and have a match. But it's out of nowhere. Like, Undertaker just grabs McFoly and that's it. Off the top through the announce table.
Starting point is 00:43:12 As God is my witness, he has broken in half. To be there to see that live would have been. just crazy. And the 26 year anniversary of that just happened like two weeks ago, June 28th, 1998. So those are two moments I wish I could have been there for. And I'm extremely grateful to be able to say that I was in the arena, in the stadium. I was there live for a lot of really, really cool moments. Rock Hogan. I was there for that. I was there for, I mean, I've been to a lot of WrestleMania. I was there for Yasselmania, WrestleMania 30. and Daniel Brian, the confetti falling from the ceiling.
Starting point is 00:43:54 That was pretty cool. I was there for Kurt Engels final match. It was there for Batista's final match. I've been there for a lot of really cool things. But that would have been an amazing one. An amazing one to be there for. Eli underscore Jackson on Twitter says, Hey, Chris, been a fan for a while now.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Thank you for the podcast that you produced. They've been amazing. My question that I have for you is if Rock versus Roman match didn't pivot to Cody versus Roman, would we see the bloodline 2.0 that we have today? Man, Eli, you talk about the butterfly effect here. And like, if this doesn't happen, then that can't happen. I really wonder, like, in an alternate universe, what all happens here? If they went forward with the plan and didn't listen to the fans and just continued with,
Starting point is 00:44:51 it's got to be Rock Roman because that's what we've been planning for for the last several months, what would this have turned into? It would have been so interesting to see that. I really don't know who would have won if it was Rock v. Roman at WrestleMania 40. I would have to guess Rock because you know how the Rock talked about how they were so close to giving us Rock versus Roman at WrestleMania 39? then they just couldn't get the deal done. I don't know this for a fact at all.
Starting point is 00:45:22 This is just me talking here, but I have a sneaky suspicion that the reason that match didn't happen is because the Rock didn't want to lose. I feel like the Rock was saying, if I'm going to come back and we're going to do this match that everybody's been talking about, Rock versus Roman Raines, the Rock's got to win.
Starting point is 00:45:41 So I just feel like that's what ended up happening there. I also question what would have happened with Cody because if you watch the WrestleMania behind the curtain documentary, they were setting up for Rock Roman and then they were setting up for CM Punk and Seth Rollins. So then Cody's not even in the title picture. Just none of that made sense to me. And I am so glad that we live in the universe that we live in right now and the timeline
Starting point is 00:46:09 that we live in right now where all of this made sense. But to your point, to your point, Eli, I don't think we would have had the bloodline 2.0 as we have it right now. I think that it would have all played out very differently. But this, the way that this is shaping up for Roman to be a massive baby face when he comes back and for the new bloodline to be the heels and that's just so good. And Paul Heyman being used as a pawn and this whole thing, it's brilliant. and I go back to what The Rock told me during an interview years ago.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Sometimes the best things in life are the things that don't happen. Sometimes you think, oh, man, if this happens and this happens and this happens, that's exactly what we want. I feel like we're getting something that's so much better here because all of that stuff didn't happen. This is an email from Tyler Aiken. Hey, Chris and Rachel, all we are getting into Ask RV. territory here. My name is Tyler. I've been a wrestling fan since I was six years old. My passion for wrestling led me to become a pro wrestler and start my own wrestling company and YouTube channel,
Starting point is 00:47:25 VTW wrestling. Everyone on a roster, including myself, listens to your podcast and interviews. I've made sure they're all following you too. You, you are a good man, Tyler. I appreciate you. I have a question for you both. My wonderful partner in crime, Cheyenne and I are expecting our first child, Phoenix Avery in October this year. Could you share any? any insights, pun intended, from when you first became parents. What was the most challenging part for you? Do you have any hospital tips for first time dads? Thank you both and keep being awesome parents.
Starting point is 00:47:57 It is ask RVV time. I love that the ask RVV questions just keep coming in. So I feel like my wife is just walking by here. Honey, yes. Honey, it's time. Please come on over here as we welcome the lovely. Rachel Van Vleet to the show here. So what are some insights? Now we have our 13-month beautiful daughter, Logan. What are some insights that you wish that people had told us before we became parents?
Starting point is 00:48:29 I don't know if there's anything I wish people told us. I feel like we got our good amount of advice. Oh, yeah. Everybody wants to give you advice. Solicited and unsolicited. I don't think that there's any advice that can truly prepare you for it. So you just kind of have to take all the advice with a grain of salt. But I think the most important thing, though, is to just be patient with each other, be patient with yourselves. You're both in a new territory. Keep in mind that, you know, your spouse, your partner is your teammate in this. They're not the enemy.
Starting point is 00:49:02 The baby's the enemy. You're both sleep deprived. You're both exhausted. And you just have to be on the same team and get through it together. and, you know, hormones are all over the place, and it's crazy. So just patience and grace with each other and yourself. Yeah, that's really good. For the hospital tips for first-time dads, just...
Starting point is 00:49:26 Don't complain. Just know that none of this is about you at all. Like, yes, you're not going to sleep a lot, and you're going to sleep on some uncomfortable hospital chair or chairs that you put together. None of this matters, okay? Your partner, your wife, your girlfriend, whoever it is, they just gave birth to a person. None of this is about you. So know that it's going to be just you being there for support and you being a cheerleader and whatever they need, you are there for them. And just also know that like you and your partner are advocates for the health of the baby. I think that was another big one.
Starting point is 00:50:13 They may suggest things, but if that goes against whatever your birth plan is, and by the way, I didn't know what a birth plan was. I didn't know that was a thing. But you advocate for the baby. I think that's a big part of it. Definitely. And I think just from an outsider looking in now at your role, like there's probably a lot of times where you're just a bystander
Starting point is 00:50:34 and you feel pretty useless, I think, at the hospital. And you kind of have to remember, like, yeah, you have to stay in the back. background at some point. And sometimes you're very needed in certain moments and other times you're just kind of hanging back and being a quiet observer. Bring snacks, Tyler. Bring snacks for you. You know, I think that Cheyenne may or may not want to eat during the process, but you will. And hospital food might not be great. I don't know where Phoenix Avery will be born, but bring, some food. And that will help the process, at least a little bit. Um, And another one here, honey.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Oh, did I not? There it is. What is your favorite home-cooked meal prepared by RVV? You're the best cook. Oh, thank you. And what's funny is we were like, do you remember when we were like six months into dating? Oh, God. This is after we actually got engaged.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Oh, yeah, so we were like over a, yeah, we were in New Jersey at a friend's house. Right. And they were like, oh, man, Rachel's the best chef. Has she made you this, this or this yet? And I was like, pardon me? I hadn't had much cooking for you at that point. And you still wanted to marry me. Oh, that's true love.
Starting point is 00:51:53 But like all of your friends from back home were like, oh, yeah, she makes the best this and the best that. Oh, man, has she made you breakfast yet? I'm like, wait a second. What? No. Well, now you get a lot of home cooked meals. It's the best. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:10 I don't know what my favorite one is. You make a good shrimp dish. You make a incredible shrimp dish. And you make it in like 12 minutes flat. Shrimps easy. Shrimp, uh, the, the turkey meatloaf. It's too good. It's so good in fact that I feel like I could eat the entire loaf and I don't want to save
Starting point is 00:52:30 any for you or Logan. There's like three ingredients in that, isn't there? Like four ingredients? Yeah, it's not a lot. Not a lot of stuff. I mean, really anything. You, I mean, I know it's just eggs that we eat almost every morning, but the way you make eggs is, that's so good.
Starting point is 00:52:49 What do I make for you that's good? Oh, uh, you make really good toast. Incredible toast. I'm, you, you have issues sometimes with the way that I spread the butter on the toast. You don't go corner to corner. I like every surface area of my toast covered. It all looks the same in the end. right? But it doesn't. I want every bite to taste the same.
Starting point is 00:53:15 Poop was where I was going with that. It all looks, it all looks the same in the end. I think I make a pretty mean steak. You make a great steak. You're a great griller. Yeah. You can grill up anything. We're grilling steaks tonight, baby. Before you ask, because you're going to say, what's your favorite cut of steak, CVV, and how do you cook it? Ribby is still my favorite, but boy, you've really won me over to fillets. And it's usually medium. Yeah, like medium-ish, you know.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Yeah. Filet is yours, right? You don't like the fatty cuts. No, a filet girl. I love when we go to a restaurant and I get like a ribby and like there's a full-on cut that's like that really like juicy, soft fat. And I'm like, oh, like melts in your mouth. And you hate that. Hard pass.
Starting point is 00:54:05 Hard pass. Well, thank you for stopping by. Thank you. They love, they love Rachel. Thanks for having me. And what are three things you're grateful for? No, we don't need to do that again. We'll do that tonight before we go to sleep.
Starting point is 00:54:20 But if you have a question for RVV, we've answered the wrestling questions, I think, quite a bit. Rachel's first wrestling show was AW in Ontario, California. And then we, not long after that, went to Smackdown in Los Angeles. So those questions have been asked a bunch, and now they've been answered twice. But thank you. If you have questions, use the hashtag, ask RVV. You have your own hashtag now.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Wow. Well, okay. Love you, honey. Thank you. Thank you for stopping by and answering all of these lovely questions. She's the best. I'm so lucky. She is the best.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Jason Kovach on Facebook says, how would you get past a plateau on your podcast? Change a strategy, more content. I would love any advice. I think that as a podcast or as a content creator, this is going to happen. I think you just need to understand that it's just part of the game in the same way that if you were an athlete, if you're a baseball player, yeah, there's going to be sometimes when you go into a bit of a slump. Or if you're a basketball player, maybe you go on a stretch there where you just can't seem
Starting point is 00:55:30 to get them to fall. I think you should look at what does work for you and lean into it. lean into what's working and do it more. These episodes, these Ask CVV episodes are actually an example of that. They were like once a month and they were like once every two weeks and then you guys just kept saying like, I really enjoy these. Is it wrong to say I enjoy these more than your interviews? And I was like, man, that's really kind.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Okay, I wasn't planning on doing these more frequently. But if you guys like him and if you keep showing up, sure. If you don't like them, that's cool. If you just want to listen to interviews, that is certainly available as well. So with whatever your content is, Jason, and whatever your podcast is about, lean into what's working.
Starting point is 00:56:18 And maybe if it's a certain topic that seems to hit really well or get a great response, don't be afraid to revisit that topic again, you know, talk about it again. Also, consistency is the most important thing when it comes to podcasting. Consistent episodes and consistent episodes
Starting point is 00:56:36 and consistently showing up. And so if you have episodes that normally go out every Monday, no matter what's going on in your life, you put out episodes every Monday. As you keep showing up, know that your audience will keep showing up as well. And know that it's a long game.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Like if you're 10 or 20 or 30 or 50 podcasts in, know that you're just getting started. Like I truly believe that as a podcaster, you really don't get into your, your groove till you're at least 100 episodes in. So if that's one podcast a week, that's two years into podcasting. If that's two episodes a week, that's a year into podcasting. But I really think that it takes time. Like you've got to get those reps in to figure out like what's really what is your groove? What works for you? What does the audience respond to? And I think a really important
Starting point is 00:57:30 thing that doesn't get talked about enough is celebrate the little wins along the way. I don't know what your podcast is specifically, and I don't know what your numbers are, but celebrate if you have 31 people listening. If you put 31 people into a room right now, that would feel like a lot of people. Celebrate that. Celebrate the fact that you mean enough to those people, however many people are listening, you mean enough to those people that they tune in every single week. And that will continue to grow. So if it goes from 31 to 36, well, you just got five new people. And think about adding five more people to that room. And then when you start to get into the hundreds of people, picture an indie wrestling show. You got a few hundred people there. Think about all of those people listening to your show.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Then when you get into the thousands, like now we're talking, you've got an arena full of people listening to your show. So I think you should celebrate those little wins along the way. and also celebrate the fact that you're still doing it. There's a lot of people that get into podcasting because they think it's fun or they think that, oh, man, me and my friends are so funny. Let's just record this and put it out there. And then four episodes later, oh, man, it's too much work and we couldn't align our schedules or I couldn't get a guest.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Yeah, I just, nah, I just had to stop doing it. Celebrate the fact that you are still doing it. And congrats to you on that. Larry Parks, the third, not a question, but we, We need an episode of you being heal Chris. You've had a good baby face run. But now we want Chris Sharp. That was on Facebook, by the way.
Starting point is 00:59:14 Larry, I don't know if you're ready for Chris Sharp. Chris Sharp is not a nice man. Chris Sharp is a bit of a bastard. I don't know if I want to tap into that. Now, in all seriousness, the backyard wrestling persona that I had of Chris Sharp, he really wasn't very nice, heavily inspired by,
Starting point is 00:59:41 very heavily inspired by Triple H at the time. And also inspired a little bit by Sean the Star Stasiak. If you remember that gimmick from WCW, he would beat someone, then he would sign an 8 by 10 and leave it on their chest. I wasn't doing that, but there was just a certain arrogance and cockiness of that character.
Starting point is 01:00:03 I don't know. I mean, never say never, right? I'm not going to ever do a full, I just said it. I just literally just said, never say never. And then I said, I'm never going to do a podcast,
Starting point is 01:00:12 and I was going to finish that as Chris Sharp. Who knows? Never say never. I've been talking about maybe there's a match in there. I trained enough. I could certainly train some more to be ready for a match.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Never say never. We will see. We will see. But you know, if Chris Sharp does an episode, you're just going to be so sick of him so quickly. Because all he's going to be doing is talking about how great he is and how many downloads the show gets. And did you hear that I hit a billion views on the CVV Eclipse channel?
Starting point is 01:00:53 A billion with B. Billion views. A billion people. watch because of this guy right here. I don't watch because of the people that come on the show. What is the common denominator on every single one of these episodes? It's me. It's CVV.
Starting point is 01:01:17 That's the common denominator in every single one of these episodes. It's so obvious why people show up. It's not because of the guests. Because of me. See, this isn't accurate. It doesn't feel. authentic. But I will tell you this, the three most important letters in all of wrestling, they're not WWE. It's not AEW, sure as hell is an MJF. It's CVV. It's CVV. I don't know. Why did Chris
Starting point is 01:01:51 Sharp's name change to Chris Van Vleet there? Tyler Bucks emailed this one in, Ask CVV from Lakewood. Hey, Chris, other than getting wings at Winking Lizard, What are you most looking forward to about your return to Cleveland? Side note. I live a minute from the Lakewood Lizard. So let me know if you need that wing hookup. Tyler, I appreciate that. I will most certainly be eating winking lizard wings.
Starting point is 01:02:15 They are so good. And I recently found out that the downtown location that I spent so much time at is closed. And that that area, that space is for lease and they haven't been able to fill it. It just breaks my heart. It breaks my heart a little bit that that place that was so important to me and also so nostalgic does not exist anymore. So Lakewood, Winking Lizard Wings, it is, I guess. But I think the thing I'm looking most forward to about going back to Cleveland is I have so many memories there. That was the first American city that I lived in. And like every turn, at every turn in downtown Cleveland,
Starting point is 01:02:57 I have a different memory. And I think that a lot of that's going to be just like, oh, yeah, I remember when this thing happened here. Or I remember when I saw this band here, all of those little things. So I'm also excited to see my friends there. A lot of them I haven't seen in a long time. West 6th Street meant a lot to me during that time in my 20s. And if you are looking to go out and have some drinks or party it up when you're in Cleveland,
Starting point is 01:03:25 West 6th Street is where you're going to want to go. I don't know how many bars are on that street, but it's like 15 or 20 different bars. And each one has a little different flavor to it from more like dive bars to more like club style bars to the Velvet Dog rooftop and everything in between. So I think spending some time on West 6th Street, and we are doing a street party. I've talked about this before. There's going to be a street party on West 6th Street. They're closing down the street.
Starting point is 01:03:54 there's going to be a wrestling ring in the middle of the street as well. So I will be hosting that street party on West Sixth Street right before SummerSlam. I believe it's 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. And West Sixth Street is, I don't know, two blocks from where the stadium is. So whether you're down there and you're tailgating or whether you're staying downtown or whether you're just parking the car somewhere and walking through to get to Brown Stadium, stop by West Sixth Street. I would love to say what's up to you. That's another thing I'm really looking forward to is just being back on West 6th Street. It'll be so much fun.
Starting point is 01:04:36 Mika Collins wrote this one in on Facebook. What's your best special guest out of all of the episodes? Name five. Oh, man. Well, I told John Cena during our last interview that that was my favorite interview that I'd ever done. And I truly meant that. So John Sina, the Undertaker, like two hours with The Undertaker, that was cool. And I felt like we could have gone for like two more days.
Starting point is 01:05:04 That was just such a cool day to be able to be a guest on his podcast. And if you haven't checked it out, I was a guest a few weeks ago on Six Feet Under with Mark Callaway. What an honor. What a great conversation that was to spend some time with Mark. That's Undertaker's real name. And then his co-host, Matt. So that interview that I did recorded with him later in the day in Undertaker's Gym, it was just such a great one.
Starting point is 01:05:30 The one I did recently with Edge, Adam Copeland, to be able to spend that much time with him in his gym, like to fly to Asheville, North Carolina. And I just felt like I was chatting with a fellow Canadian. I mean, I was. But I just felt like I was just chilling with like someone I had known for years. That was a really cool one. the Ray Mysterio one recently. And Ray had been on my list for a long time as a guest that I want to have a conversation
Starting point is 01:06:01 with. And to be able to do that. And that was just a great day to like to drive out there to Las Vegas to do that interview with him, drive right back after it was done. So it was a long day, you know, four-ish hour drive there with traffic, maybe four and a half back did the interview. That was cool. and then, man, the fifth one.
Starting point is 01:06:23 This is the problem like when you do like top five lists or when you do Mount Rushmore's is you end up leaving people off inevitably. So, man, who is the fifth one? John Sina, we've got The Undertaker, we've got Edge, and we've got Ray Mysterio. It airs on Tuesday. But the most recent interview I did with Cody was really cool and like pretty small. special. So check that out. And it's cool to be able to, I've talked to him at so many different phases of his career. I talked to him very briefly. It's one of the, I think it's the first
Starting point is 01:07:04 interview, the first wrestling interview posted to my YouTube channel. I got him who was wearing the face mask. WrestleMania 27. I did a very brief interview with him at WrestleMania Access. So, yeah, to talk to him then, I talked to him when he was Ring of Honor champion. I talked to him in Miami right before, like a few days before double or nothing, AEW's first pay-per-view. Then we did the interview last year when his documentary came out. And now to do this interview now when he's the WWE champion, it's just kind of cool to be there at every stage of his career like that.
Starting point is 01:07:47 So that's, I think that's number five. I'm leaving a ton of other interviews off of there, some that were really important to my career. But I think those were just my favorite conversations that I've had. So if there's, if, if you haven't checked out any of those interviews that I've talked about, please go dive into the archives or check them out on YouTube and see what you, see what you think. Jason Rocco Sina Corey says, did you ever get a chance to interview Robin Williams?
Starting point is 01:08:16 No. And I wish I did. What a freaking legend. And I think he's so underrated for just how great of an actor he was. Obviously, we know how funny Robin Williams was. Like on a whole other level, complete one of one with his talent when it came to comedy. But then when you watch his performances in like Goodwill Hunting or 24 hour photo, one hour photo? What was a, man, it was such a good one, one hour photo, right?
Starting point is 01:08:51 One hour, yeah, one hour. Why did I call it 24 hour photo? Robin Williams in one hour photo? What a performance. So good. I wish I would have had the chance to talk to him. And unfortunately, I didn't. And that's the case with a lot of legends who were taken from us too early.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Eddie Guerrero is the wrestling version of that. didn't get the chance to meet him or have a conversation with him. Rob Grieves on Facebook says, does Joe Hendry believe in you? I hope so. I would like to think that Joe Henry believes in me. I believe in Joe Hendry. I put the mic down so I can.
Starting point is 01:09:34 I believe in Joe Hendry. I'd think that Joe Hendry believes in me because he believed in me enough to fly from a TNA show in Chicago to Los Angeles just to do the interview with me to then I picked him up from his hotel. We did the interview and then I drove him right to the airport and he flew from there to Orlando and that led to his NXT debut. I like to think that he believes in me enough that he would find the time in his schedule to fly to me so we could do it right and do the interview in person in the West Coast Creative Studio. And what a great conversation that was.
Starting point is 01:10:16 Loved having him on the show. You guys seem to appreciate him being on the show as well. That is one of the most downloaded and one of the most watched interviews over the last few months. So thank you. Thank you for, thank you for believing in Joe Hendry enough to want to go check out that interview. And wow, that is the last question.
Starting point is 01:10:37 So thank you guys for sending in all of these questions. Thank you for the fun questions for Ask RVV. I actually learn things from the Ask RVV questions. So keep sending in the Ask RVV questions. Please keep sending in the Ask CVV questions. I'm excited for next week. Ask CVV number 40. We've got quite a few people that could be number 40.
Starting point is 01:11:02 So who do you think number 40 should be? Please send them in. and send me those questions using the hashtag Ask CVV on social media. CVV at chrisfanfleet.com is my email. And one of my favorite books over the last few years, I recommend this one all the time is the third door by Alex Benayan.
Starting point is 01:11:27 And it's the idea that there's always a way to, just read the book. There's always a way to make something happen. There's the first door, which is waiting in line. waiting in line trying to make it happen. There's the second door, which is the door of the billionaires and celebrities use like stink in the back door.
Starting point is 01:11:46 And then there's the third door, which is knowing someone who can get you in. This is a terrible explanation. This is how he explains it. I've not given you enough context, but the third door is a book that I would highly, highly recommend, especially if maybe you don't know what your passion is in life. Or maybe you don't know how to go about chasing after that thing that you want. or especially if you're a content creator or a podcaster, the book talks a lot about how he was able to get interviews with people like
Starting point is 01:12:16 Lady Gaga or how he got an interview with Bill Gates. Go check out the book, The Third Door by Alex Benayan. And I will leave you from a quote, leave you with a quote from him. Persistence is not about knocking on one door 100 times. It's about knocking on 100 doors. I hope that quote speaks to you. Be great. Be grateful. We will see you on the next one for some more insight. We've got the WWE champion on the show with us on Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:12:52 We will see you then with none other than the American nightmare. Cody Rhodes. Jim Rome takes on sports. Why? Because I have a job to do. With rapid fire takes. So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs on this notion today. No idea what you're talking. about. You're complaining more than you like to breathe air. It's like you get up in the morning
Starting point is 01:13:14 only to complain and cry and moan on social media about things that you don't even understand. He's the spitfire of sports smack. Take advantage of it. Get up in here. The Jim Rome show podcast. What should be? Follow and listen on your favorite platform. You've been warned.
