That'd be just such a helpful thing.
And comments are back.
We've been actually taking a lot of questions for the Ask CVV episodes from the
comment section of Spotify.
So leave a comment on there.
Leave a question for the next.
Ask CVV.
Ask CVV 43.
Leave it on there in the comment section of Spotify.
Welcome, my friends, to Ask CVV.

and of course, also the Mariano Rivera edition.
So pumped to have you guys along for these ones.
This is how I know that you're a real one.
I mean, I can understand wanting to tune in
to an episode with Cody Rhodes or with Booker T
or with Queen Charmel or with Goldberg,
but when it's just me and you hanging out like this,
it just makes me so happy knowing
that it's just us hanging out on this car ride or this workout or this late night shift or whatever
whatever we're doing together right now. I appreciate you. And if this is your first time on an Ask
CVV episode, it's simple. You ask the questions. I give you my best answers, or I guess to the best
of my knowledge. And you can send these questions in using the hashtag Ask CVV on social media.

Since it is SummerSlam weekend,
since SummerSlam is upon us tomorrow night,
live from Cleveland Brown Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio,
my American hometown,
oh man, I love Cleveland so much,
so happy to be back here.
Since it's SummerSlam weekend,
we're going to kick things off with this one
from Bryce Reynolds on Facebook,
who says,
Yo, CVV, looking forward to seeing you in Cleveland this weekend.
Can you give us your full predictions for SummerSlam?
So interestingly, SummerSlam has seven matches.
We've been seeing five matches for a while on a lot of the PLEs,
but I'm thinking the big four, Royal Rumble, WrestleMania,
SummerSlam and Survivor Series.
I feel like they're going to beef those up just a little bit.
I feel like we're going to get just a few more matches, perhaps.
That's what we're getting here, seven matches,
all singles matches, by the way.
So that means you've only got 14 wrestlers.
And of course you've got Seth Rollins thrown in there as a performer, I guess,
as the special guest referee in that match.
But only 14 people wrestling here.
Six of the seven matches are for championships.
So a lot on the line here.
Even though the CM Punk, Drew McIntyre match isn't for a championship,
there's a lot on the line, a lot on the line in that one.
So let's start things off with Damien Priest defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Goonther.
And let's look at the odds as well on mybooky.orgie.g when you sign up there and use the promo code CVV,
you'll get a 50% welcome bonus on your first deposit. The odds heavily stacked in Goonther's favor on this one.
And I feel like it's Goonther's time. If you're asking me, I think Goonther walks out of this one, World Heavyweight Champion,
And then we get a run that feels as prestigious as what he did with the Intercontinental Championship.
I am certainly not saying he's going to hold it for a year and a half like he did the IC title.
But I just feel like there's something about him wearing a suit, holding the championship,
just the poise that he has.
And I feel like there's a lot of storylines that can break off from this.
So I'm excited for the future World Heavyweight Championship run from Gunther,
whenever that happens,
but I'm assuming it starts
tomorrow night in Cleveland.
And he's a minus 500 favorite
on that one.
Bailey defending her
WWE Women's Championship
against Naya Jax.
That's almost a toss-up.
It's almost a pick-em on my bookie.
Nia Jax, the slight favorite here
at minus 170,
Bailey at a plus 130.
I really think this one
could go either way,
but I'm going to go with Nia Jax
on this and just being the force that she is, she's just going to run through some opponents,
run through some challengers when she is the champion there. So I'm going to Naya Jacks on that one.
Then we go Liv Morgan versus Ria Ripley for the women's world championship. You would think,
it feels like you would think that a returning Ria Ripley here would just walk through
Liv Morgan. And that would be the end of this. But the odds on my
bookie minus 600 for live morgan and i agree with that i think live morgan is going to somehow hang on to this
and keep this storyline alive i i know we've been joking about this but it does feel like there's
maybe it's not a custody of dominic ladder match but there's something in the works here where
dominic is probably not literally hanging in the balance but dominic plays a massive role in this whole
storyline it's been so entertaining to see i think live hangs all
of the championship here, sets up another match or two between Liv Morgan and Ria Ripley.
I mean, you want to talk about bad blood.
There is some bad blood here.
So maybe that's where this whole storyline gets taken care of.
Cody Rhodes defending the undisputed WWE championship against Solo Sacoa.
I feel like we all know who ends up winning this match that Cody obviously walks out as the champion here.
But I think there's going to be some stuff that happens.
here. Roman Raines returning certainly feels like something that could happen. Roman
Raines comes out, screws Solo Socoa, massive pop for Roman Rain, set something up with Roman and
Solo. That feels like that could happen here, but I think we can all kind of agree. It's going to
be Cody Rhodes walking out and retaining the championship there. He is the heaviest favorite
when you look at my book. He's minus 5,000. That's a huge, huge favorite. So Cody Rhodes,
but I think the more important thing about this match is everything
that else is going to be going on outside of this match
and who from the bloodline gets involved,
does Roman return?
That's really what everyone's going to be thinking about.
The match is going to be great.
You've got two great competitors here with Cody Rhodes and Solo,
but everyone's just going to be the whole time just asking
either A, is Roman coming back or B,
when is roaming coming back?
That's going to be the whole focus here.
Moving on to the United States championship match,
is Logan Paul defending against L.A. Knight.
It feels like the obvious choice here is to finally have L.A. Knight, yeah, win his first ever
singles championship, his first ever championship in WWB. That feels like what should happen.
The wild card here is this is happening in Cleveland. Logan Paul is very proud to be from Cleveland.
I know he's only defended the U.S. championship twice.
And I know that as a point of contention for a lot of people.
We'll actually get to that in a separate question here in a little bit.
I think my prediction is L.A. Knight.
The odds are in his favor as well.
But I could see them having a moment here with Logan Paul,
winning the championship in Cleveland and, you know,
that shot of him holding the championship after the match in Cleveland,
Brown Stadium, that also feels like it could happen here.
I still think it's going to be L.A. Knight's time.
He's come so, so, so close, so many times over the last year.
It's time.
It's time to give L.A. Knights and gold.
Sammy Zane defending the W.W.E. Intercontinental Championship against Braun Breaker.
I was surprised as anybody that Bronner lost that match at Money in the Bank.
I mean, you heard my predictions for Money in the Bank.
thought that this brawn breaker streak would just continue. I understand why it was broken,
because if he keeps winning matches, if he keeps this streak continuing, then every single
match he wrestles, whoever it's against, whatever the stakes are in that match, it's like,
well, he's got the streak. You know, he's won his last 30 matches, one of the last 57 matches,
he's won his last 91 matches, whatever it is. Then the storyline becomes about the streak
and not about the storyline itself,
not about the championship
that's hanging in the balance here.
So that's why I think
that the streak was kind of quietly broken there,
cleanly, by the way,
and money in the bank in Toronto.
I think it's Bronbreaker's time now, though.
And I think that, man, he is just so dominant.
He's just a freak athlete.
And I think it's Bronbreaker winning the championship
here against Sammy Zane.
And then we get some really interesting matches
after that.
Like, whenever this,
Wyatt Sixth stuff is done with Chad Gable.
I feel like Chad Gable can insert himself right back into the intercontinental title
picture and, you mean, I mentioned it with L.A. Knight, but you want to talk about somebody who's
so deserving of singles gold.
Man, how many great matches is Chad Gable given us over the last decade that he's been in
WWE, but especially over the last year.
The matches with Sammy, the matches with Gunther.
Oh, man, it's just, it's, he's so deserving.
I feel like if Bronbreaker becomes,
the champion tomorrow at SummerSlam.
That allows us to set up some really interesting matches over the next handful of months.
Also, I mentioned this to Chad Gable.
You'll be seeing this interview in the next few weeks.
Name me a bad Chad Gable match.
Exactly.
You can't.
Then we move on to CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre, Seth Freakin'Rollins as the special guest referee.
Oh, by the way, the odds obviously in the favor of Bronbreaker in that last match.
So when we look at this match, the odds are stacked in the favor of Drew Magintar, minus
325 according to my bookie.
Seth Rollins is the wildcard here.
And I know a lot of people have talked about how CM Punk is really actually doing some rather
heel-like things here, but keeps getting a face pop.
I don't think that's going to change.
I think CM Punk remains a baby face, at least through the remainder of this feud.
I think Drew Maganar finally gets his.
And Seth Rollins, like the only person he hates CM Punk.
I could see CM Punk getting screwed over by Seth Freak and Rollins here.
Drew McIntyre has that moment.
Drew McIntyre wins this match, but it is going to be number one,
just a fantastic match and number two, wildly entertaining with all the possibilities here.
So those are my predictions for SummerSlam.
This will see how this shakes out.
I didn't do so well on money in the bank.
It did really well the previous ones, but money in the bank,
man, that threw me for a loop or some,
I feel like I was,
everybody on the planet was expecting Bronbrook to win that match,
I feel like.
But very interesting to see how this all shakes out.
I also have my fingers crossed that the weather behaves.
They're calling for rain in Cleveland.
And this might be the first time that you're hearing this,
but it's an open air stadium.
They're calling for rain.
Oh my gosh.
I hope it doesn't rain.
Number one during our tailgate,
but also during SummerSlam.
So the tailgate's 1 to 6,
West 6th Street.
Grab your tickets, live wrestling there,
provided by AIW, food trucks, DJs.
I'm hosting the whole thing.
W6tailgate.com.
Can't wait to see you there.
I just hope it doesn't rain on our tailgate,
and then I hope it doesn't rain at SummerSlam.
But I guess, you know, these are the chances you have to take when you're doing an event and an open air arena.
So just cross your fingers and your toes with me and anything else you can cross.
Please, cross them for us.
Brock Johnson on Facebook.
Chris, are you actually Hank Hill?
I heard your absolutely perfect Hank Hill impression when you were a guest on the Undertaker's podcast, six feet under.
Where have you been hiding this all these years?
but tell you hot.
The thing about that, thank you for the very nice words, Brock.
The thing about that is that's probably the only phrase that I can say.
Like I don't, I saw some people that were like, man, you should do a full podcast with Will Saso doing his Jesse Venture impression and you talking like Hank Hill.
I don't really think I could talk like Hank Hill for a full episode.
I'll sell propane and propane accessories.
I don't know.
I feel like I can do that.
Oh, that Hank Hill sound.
That boy ain't right.
I don't know.
I feel like it's just, boy, I tell you what, it's the only thing.
Boy, I tell you, hot.
And it's the hot, hot, hot,
I think that's the only thing I can really say.
And I pulled that out of nowhere during that episode.
If you listen to that or you watch it on YouTube,
we were talking about Arne Anderson,
and I just made an off-the-cuff remark,
a complete throwaway comment.
that I think Arne Anderson sounds a little bit like Hank Hill.
And I threw it out there.
And I appreciate the love from everybody in the comments saying,
man, did we just completely ignore?
Did we just completely glaze over the fact that gloss over?
Gloss over the fact, the CVV just did a perfect Hank Hill impression.
I appreciate that.
Thank you.
I'm going to continue to work on it.
I'm going to continue to work on my Hank Hill to see,
maybe we can get a few more phrases. I don't know. I actually did that impression from Mike Judge
years ago. I interviewed him. Geez, when would this have been 2008, 2009? That movie called
Extract with Jason Bateman. I interviewed, I interviewed Mike Judge for that. And I pulled out my
hand kill and he's, that's pretty good. And then he did his, oh, man, blew mine out of the water,
of course. I mean, he's the actual voice of the show. But I thought mine was good. And then I heard him,
doing. I went, oh, yeah, it's not so good at all. But the fact that I got to do my handkill impression
for hand kill, that's a moment. Trace underscore Menard 98 on Twitter. What is something behind the scenes
about the show that we might not know? I think there's a lot of things behind the scenes of the show
you won't know. I think a lot of them, you don't see all the preparation and travel.
that goes into any of these interviews that happen.
And of course, the team of amazingly talented people
that help me behind the scenes with editing and audio engineering
and graphics and the trailers,
the intros for all these episodes,
the thumbnails, I'm super grateful.
I'm like, none of this is possible
without all of the other people that work on the team,
work on the show to help the show look and sound
is the best it can possibly sound.
But a fun little story here.
When we went to do that Ray Mysterio interview,
I drove out there with my buddy Zeus.
He owns West Coast Creative Studio in Hollywood.
That's where you've been seeing me shoot
the last batch of episodes in Hollywood.
So that's where you saw the Joe Hendry episode,
the Scorpio Sky, Billy Gunn,
Rampage Jackson, a bunch of other ones as well.
Drove out there with him.
And it's about a four-hour drive
from where I live.
and we're like, we're just having a blast.
We're driving out there and we're listening to music and just, you know,
laughing it up and having a great time and like 40 minutes into the drive.
I don't know why I remembered it, but it just hit me and I went, oh, no, I forgot the cameras.
Of all the things to forget for an interview, the cameras are pretty important and everything else.
I actually I didn't even have the audio recorder.
I have a I have like one of those equipment boxes like the hard shell hard side shell boxes
and I put the cameras in it and I put the mics in it and I put the H4 on the audio recorder
in it and I for whatever reason I left that box behind.
Yeah.
And we're 40 minutes into this drive to Las Vegas.
So I called up my wife, I called up Rachel and I said, honey, what do you do?
doing right now. She's like, oh, I was just like going for a walk with Logan and Luna, that's our dog.
I said, I left the cameras behind and obviously they're pretty important. She goes, no problem,
honey. And she jumped in, we were driving the Tesla. She jumped in our pickup truck. And she's like,
I'm just going to start driving your way. And you start driving backwards on the 91. I'll drive your
way on the 91. You start driving my way and we will somehow meet up at some sort of
of exit and she saved the day that interview would not have happened if it wasn't for ravev saving the
day like we were calling each other was like a i felt like we were on a mission impossible
excursion here she's like i'm passing this exit i'm like oh no way i'm passing this other one over here
this is perfect so she saved the day and that interview would not have happened well i guess it would
have happened but would have been at the grace and mercy of ramus's schedule because we would have been
just massively late because when I go all the way back home and then start the whole journey again,
we would have been an hour, 20 minutes behind. We were already 40 minutes in that direction.
Now 40 minutes back. Oh, my goodness. Actually, it would have been more. It would have been like two hours,
right? Because we were already 40 minutes there, but I had to drive 40 minutes back and then another 40
minutes just to catch back up. So Rachel's just the best. So there's a big,
something behind the scenes that you wouldn't have seen. And that, I mean, that's, that's when,
that's when, that's when things are best. Things are best when everything looks smooth and everything
runs smooth and you don't realize just the chaos that's happening behind the scenes.
That's a perfect example of that. David sent this one on Spotify. Question for Ask CBV-42,
the Jackie Robinson edition. What are your top three favorite Jim Carrey movies? Mine are the
Mask the Grinch and Dumb and Dumber One.
All great choices there.
Ace Ventura has a very special place in my heart because when that movie came out on VHS in 1994,
I must have watched it 50 times in a row.
And it's funny, I was 11.
I didn't get a lot of the jokes.
There was a lot of very adult jokes in that movie.
I didn't get a lot of them.
But I just loved his charisma and I loved how like the silly faces.
he made. And I love the way that he delivered lines. Like I was an 11 year old kid for a long time saying,
oh, righty then, just for no reason. And I even quoted it. I even quoted Ace Ventura on the last
episode, which makes me think, David, this is why you ask this question, because someone's username was
Roger Predactor. That's why Roger Paddactor's dead. He found Captain Winky. Sometimes with our,
I'll go outside in the backyard
and our daughter,
Logan, will be still in the living room
and I will open up the sliding glass door
like that scene from Ace Ventura.
Where he's opening and closing the door
and talking about the double pain hurricane glass.
So Ace Ventura for sure,
Dumb and Dubber is just an absolute classic.
It's a timeless classic.
It's brilliantly funny.
The way that Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey play off of each other, the scene where Jeff Daniels is shitting on the toilet is just classic.
And of course, I'm sure you have too.
How many times have you done the Swimmy, Swamy, Samsonite?
I was way off.
The movie is so quotable.
And then eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
In my opinion, Jim Carrey's best performance,
certainly one of those movies that when it ends,
you just question a lot of things.
The premise of that movie to me is just fascinating.
And it just makes you kind of rethink
the relationships in your life,
whether they're romantic or platonic.
It just makes you rethink a lot of different things.
And I love that movie.
That movie, it gets me.
It gets me in the feels.
There's obviously so many other great Jim Carrey movies, and we'd be here all day,
listing them all off.
But for three very different reasons, those are my three Jim Carrey movies.
Of course, you know, I could even give you 10 honorable mentions, but I won't because if I go,
oh, it's this one and this one, you're going to go, what about this one over here?
And I'm going to go, yeah, you're right.
there's a lot of great Jim Carrey movies and a lot of great Jim Carrey performances.
And of course, I will point out that he's a fellow Canadian because that's what Canadians do.
We like to point out when another Canadian has been successful.

Thoughts on the United States Championship reign of Logan Paul.
I'm a big fan of the U.S. championship,
its representation of opportunity.
The John Cena Open U.S. Challenge brought back the prestige and value to the title back in 2015.
I'm rooting for L.A. Knight.
Is he the solution that we need to bring back.
the value to the U.S. Championship.
So I know, like I alluded to earlier, there are a lot of detractors that say
Logan Paul's run is not good because he doesn't defend it enough.
The value in Logan Paul's run, though, is the mainstream appeal that he's brought to
the U.S. championship.
The mainstream talk shows that he's been on, the mainstream events where he's, man, he's been
sitting ringside and all of his brother, Jake Paul's fights, which are, you know, some of the
most watch boxing fights in recent memory. He's sitting ringside, holding the United States
Championship in front of a whole bunch of people on a television audience who have no idea what the
United States Championship is, haven't watched WWE either ever or in many, many years.
There's a huge amount of value that is attached to that. I mean, I'm Canadian. I will put that
out there again. I cannot vote. I am not a political person. I don't care what side of the
aisle you are on here. But the fact that.
that a former president and a current presidential candidate, Donald Trump, is holding the United
States championship for a photo op when he was a guest unimpulsive, that's big. That's something that
you can't put a money value on. So while he hasn't been in the ring having a lot of matches,
I understand that. Logan Paul's a special exception, though. If slash, I think when L.A. Knight
wins the U.S. title. Yeah, you'll be seeing him defending it a lot. He'll be defending it on.
weekly television. He'll, of course, be defending it on PLEs with much more frequency.
Logan Paul falls into this category of like, yeah, he's kind of a part-time performer,
but at the same time, he also falls into this category of like he's mainstream. And whether you like
him or not, the one thing you can't take away from Logan Paul, other than his insane athleticism,
is the fact that this isn't just like something he's doing on the side that he's ashamed of.
Like, he is putting WWE front and center with everything that he does.
And he talks about it on almost every single episode of Impulsive.
He finds a way to slide it into like every conversation that he has.
He's bringing the U.S. title around everywhere.
And I think that if he wasn't proud of this and if this wasn't something that he wanted to be
associated with, he would just leave that to the shows.
He would like, yeah, yeah, I did that on TV.
And like, that's my wrestling character.
That's my wrestling persona.
But he's worked this into his everyday life.
And now there's a whole bunch of people who don't watch wrestling that at least know
that he's involved with it.
And hey, maybe they'll tune in.
Oh, man, I heard Logan Paul talking about this thing called SummerSlam this weekend.
And it's in his hometown.
It's in Cleveland.
But maybe those people now subscribe to Peacock and watch SummerSlam for the first time ever because of Logan Paul.
And I think that those are the things that for some reason, hardcore wrestling fans can't seem to be thinking about or talking about.
I think that we're going to see a very different run when L.A. Knight is the champion.
But I've been a fan of the work that Logan Paul's done in the ring.
And I appreciate the eyeballs that he's been bringing to not just the United States Championship,
but to WWE as a whole.
Move that way,
144 on Instagram says,
do you think Brian Danielson
is actually retiring?
So the story here is
he went on the record a while ago
and said that at the end
of this AEW contract,
that's it.
He's done with wrestling.
He's retiring.
And now they've worked this
into a storyline.
So he's taking on Swerve Strickland,
the AEW champion at all in.
And it's basically
title versus
career. Brian says that if he doesn't win the AEW championship at all in, he's retiring.
So, you know, setting up for a really interesting story here. And also, this is going to be for sure
a match of the year contender. Like this, oh, man, both of those guys are so good and putting them
together. Amazing. So here's my take on it. I think that Brian's going to win this championship and
sign another contract for, you know, maybe it's a year, maybe it's two years, and then kind of make
this like his last hurrah. I like that there's, like this reminds me of when Sean Michaels went up
against the Undertaker and it's like the streak versus the career, like, two pretty important
things on the line here, two pretty important things hanging in the balance here. Both guys
need to do whatever they can to try to win this match. I think that while Brian Daniels
is 43 years old, he still has a lot of lost time to make up for. I mean, of course you know the
story. Retires in 2016, is told he can never wrestle again. 2021 through getting doctor clearance
and healing up, he's able to make his return. He's had some incredible matches in AEW.
I still feel like there's, he still has some more left in the tank. So if he's 43 now,
signs for, and again, I don't know this. I'm just making.
stuff up here. Signs for two more years, he can wrestle at least 45. And then who knows?
Who knows what happens there? As you know, retirements in wrestling are never final.
So, and we've seen that many, many, many times. But I think that if nothing else,
this sets up for an absolutely incredible match in London at all in. Swerve Strickland
and Brian, Brian Danielson, Swerve's had a great run. Swerve's had a great run. Swerve's had a,
an amazing run. He's had some such good matches with the championship. And if this is where he
loses it and this is who he loses it too, I think that that one all adds up. And yeah,
that one makes sense. Scott Cumming emailed this one and said, hey, Chris, I'm pretty sure
Jericho only referred to Summer Slam as Summer Sham one time in 1999. But I've been unable to call it
anything else since.
Are there any terms used in a promo that you have held on to and use especially,
especially any that are well past the point of reference?
Thanks, Scott from Scotland.
Scott from Scotland.
I don't think it was ever referred to in a promo,
but I often find myself calling it summer scam.
Maybe that's just a playoff of Jericho calling it summer sham,
but I just jokingly have called it summer sham, but I just jokingly have called it.
that summer scam many times. I have also, don't tell Mark Calloway this, but I have also referred to him
as the underwear taker on more than one occasion. I think because of that sign, right? There was a sign in
like the 90s that someone held up that said the underwear taker. It's so silly and so stupid,
but I find myself saying it all the time.
I also, and this has nothing to do with promos,
but I also find myself like adding words onto things.
Like you heard me referring to money in the bank as currency
and the financial establishment.
I feel like me and my friends have this weird,
twisted sense of humor where we like to like use the synonyms for words.
like that. I think I did one the other day. I was talking about Jake the Snake Roberts. And I was saying,
how weird is it that like his nicknames in the middle? That's, it's just not that common. Usually it's
like the American dragon, Brian Daniels says. It's usually like the rated R superstar. Ed. It's usually
like the moniker comes before the name rarely in the middle. That doesn't happen as often. But he's Jake
the Snake Roberts. And it's funny how the Snake Jake, Jake, Jake,
just doesn't sound good. Jake the snake Roberts, it has like a ring to it. The snake Jake Roberts.
And then I took it one step further. And I said, what if his name was the snake Jacob Roberts?
Like, Jake is short for Jacob. I think we have to assume that Jake Roberts, if that was his actual
like birth name, it would be Jacob Roberts. The snake Jacob Roberts. So then I was
I was referring to him as the snake Jacob Roberts just because it sounds so silly.
And so now you're going to start doing that.
Yeah.
Yeah, the snake Jacob Roberts.
Yeah, I'm going to make you big.
Yeah.
That was my impression of Will Saso doing an impression of the snake Jacob Roberts.
Adam leftist one on Spotify.
Hashtag Ask CVV.
I thoroughly enjoy the podcast and I'm listening from the UK.
What's your thoughts on the recent talk that happened in London with Triple H and Nick Con about WrestleMania, UK?
I have been saying this for a while.
It is just a matter of when, not a matter of if.
I think I successfully predicted that WrestleMania would be in Las Vegas.
When we didn't know this, when we were just coming off of WrestleMania 40, I said,
WWE is going to look at what they did with the Super Bowl in Las Vegas,
and they're going to have a WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
If not WrestleMania 41, WrestleMania 42.
I think that WrestleMania in London, if not WrestleMania 42,
is WrestleMania 43.
This is, if the deal's not already done,
they are right there at the finish line.
And of course, I don't know this as fact.
This is certainly just,
this is just me spitballing here
and me kind of reading the signs that I've been seeing.
But,
WrestleMania in London is long, long overdue.
But I do have a little point of contention there
with the mayor of London.
He said something about this being the first ever
international WrestleMania ever.
And I'm like, excuse me?
Like, does Toronto not exist?
And I get what you're saying.
Like, this is the first one outside of North America.
But that's not what he said.
He said the first ever international one.
So it's like the disrespect for Canada
when he said that.
I know he didn't mean it,
but I think it's just a matter of time.
And I can't wait to see it.
We've seen so many amazing
crowds in the UK over the years and it's just going to be stepped up to another level.
Although it should be pointed out that when you see something like a clash of the castle
or you see something like a backlash in France, those audiences are generally speaking,
it's a lot of people that live in and around that area.
WrestleMania is different.
WrestleMania is different in that a lot of people travel for.
WrestleMania. I don't know the exact numbers here and the exact percentages, but while it will still be,
when WrestleMania is in London, that's right, when, not if, when WrestleMania is in London,
it will obviously still be heavily attended by people that live around that area. But you're going to
have people that fly in from all over the world for this. And that's the same thing that happens,
whether WrestleMania is in Las Vegas or it's in Philly or it's in Dallas. I was just going all the way
back there, 41, 40, 39.
You know, it doesn't matter what city it's in.
Whenever I run into people in and around the stadium, like that week, or when I run
into them at the stadium, people are from everywhere.
Like, I met people from New Zealand.
I met people from Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England, everywhere.
And of course, all over the United States as well.
People are traveling in for this.
So I don't want people to think that if WrestleMania is in London, it's going to just be
80,000 people that live within like a five-hour radius of the stadium.
While there will be still a lot, right?
You're going to have people flying in from Canada and the United States and Mexico and
flying in from Australia and New Zealand all over the place.
So it's still, yes, of course, going to be heavily attended by people that are either
going to drive in or take the train in or a quick flight in that area in Europe.
but I just, I think it needs to be said that it's not going to be a 100% audience that's just
going to be, you know, attended there.
But I also do feel like you thought backlash was good?
You thought money in the bank last year and London was good?
It's going to be like that on steroids.
Paul Barrington on Instagram.
Hey, CVV, what do you think's going on with that photo of Shane McMahon and Tony Kahn?
It looks just like a meeting.
It looks like Tony Khan was very surprised by that photo being taken, too.
I have a lot of questions here, though.
I think that people have read into this a little bit too much.
I see people like thinking that Shane McMahon is going to buy AEW.
I don't think that's the case at all.
I don't think AEW is up for sale.
This could just be two entrepreneurs, two people that are business-minded people,
just sharing a conversation about not just wrestling, but also about business.
Like that's where, that's what I see it as.
But like, I've got a lot of questions here.
Who took the photo?
Who took the photo, number one?
Number two, who leaked the photo?
How to wrestle talk get this photo?
Like that, that seems to be a really big elephant in the room that nobody's talking about.
And whenever Tony Kahn does his next media available,
ability. I think that needs to be one of the first questions that's asked. How did Russell Talk get that photo?
And how does TOTD Con feel that it got released? Well, I think the answer to that is somewhat, it doesn't get leaked by accident.
I don't like, it's not like someone from Russell Talk happened to somehow find their way into that airport, find their way into that room, bust open the door, snap a photo and run out. That's, that's not what happened here. But how did they get the photo?
That is a, these are the more important questions.
And then I think we can work backwards from there.
But people are reading into this, I think, too much.
Business people meet with other business people all the time.
I understand that's not exactly what's happening here.
This isn't just two business people meeting.
This is essentially two competitors meeting.
You know, Shane McMahon's father, obviously, founded and owned the WWE for
four plus decades. I get it. It's, it's, there's, there's a little bit something more going on with that.
But I don't think anything is going to come out of this. I've seen all the memes. I don't think
here comes the money is going to hit at all in. I don't think Shane McMahon is going to be part of
AEW. Of course, anything could happen in the wild world of professional wrestling, but that's not to me
what this seems like. This just seems like
some people that are talking about wrestling and talking
about business coming together. But,
I guess we shall see how this plays out. And again,
I know that wrestling fans, myself included,
do not really employ patience very often.
But that feels like something that would be required here.
Instead of jumping into these wild,
conclusions. Maybe we just wait a month or two or six and see does anything come out of this.
And I guess we can figure that out at that point in time. Beast underscore Club 00 on Instagram says,
where is the fountain of youth, Chris? You've got to know to look that young. Well, that is awfully
kind of you. Thank you, Beast underscore Club zero zero zero. I don't know, drink lots of water.
working out is definitely a big part of this.
I think not even just for looking young,
but just for feeling young, having energy.
Like you wake up and you sit in a chair all day
for a lot of people who work those type of jobs,
of course you're going to feel like you have no energy.
I think that working some sort of physical activity,
whether that's lifting weights or it's going for a run
or it's yoga or it's a walk, a brisk walk,
working that into your week is so important. And I know, I don't have time for that. Well,
you either find time for health and fitness now or you have to find time for disease later on.
Like I saw that quote a while back and it's so true. And so you can't just live a sedentary life
now and then, you know, 10, 20, 30, 50 years down the line be like, oh man, I wonder, I wonder why I'm dealing with
of this now. So I think that's a big part of it is moving your body. Motion is lotion. That's a big part of it.
And then actual lotion. When I moved to Florida when I was 30 years old, the sun is so hot there.
Summers are really warm and that sun's just baking down on you. I got a moisturizer for my face
that had SPF in it. And I feel like that was a really big component here because you're in the sun
more than you think, like whether it's walking to and from your car or it's just getting the car wash
recently this week and you're just kind of like hanging out outside. You don't even think about that.
I think that so often we just think about putting sunscreen on like when we go to the beach
or like you put sunscreen on when you go for a hike or like go biking outside. Like you associate
an activity of being outside. You don't think like, oh man, when I walk the dog around the block for
20 minutes. That's 20 minutes of sun exposure. That's why I've got a t-shirt tan for the entire summer.
So I think that was a really big part of it. I drink lots of water too. I love water. Water is my
favorite beverage for sure. You've probably heard me talk about this before, but the very first
thing I do when I wake up is I drink 32 ounces of water with some electrolytes and salt in it.
So 32 ounces is about a quarter of a gallon of water. It's the first thing I do. Just get everything,
just flowing again. You haven't drank any sort of liquid for the previous 10, 8, 10, 12 hours
before that. You can't just wake up and expect like everything's just going to be flowing and good
and you're just going about your day. Like, I think you've got to like kind of kickstart things.
So that's been a huge game changer for me is drinking water, like such a simple thing.
Just drinking a bunch of water. And if you, if you don't have any electrical.
lights, you, you haven't purchased any, some salt. Putting some good quality salt into the water
is super, super helpful. So again, thank you for the nice words there. I think it's just a matter of,
like, I think a lot of people put their health as like one of the least important things that they
think about. And I actually think that it should be one of the most important things that you think
about because everything else flows down from there. If you're not sleeping well,
there goes your energy. If you're not taking care of your body or there goes your energy.
That's why when I ask people, what are you great? What are three things you're grateful for?
Almost everybody says some version of their health. They're thankful for their health.
So I think that instead of putting that way down the list of things that you're important,
that are important to you, it needs to work its way up there. And I don't just mean that in the
activities that you do, but also some of the foods that you eat as well or some of the,
the drinks that you that you might be consuming. But I love a, I love a good cocktail. I love a good
cocktail, but I'm talking about like, someone asked me a few weeks ago, they were like, what's some
super small things you can do to start living a little bit healthier or maybe lose a little bit
of weight? And I said, well, just get rid of your soda. Like if you replace your soda or your
juice with water, that'll be a massive, massive change. So yeah, I'm, I am certainly,
no expert here, but those are a few things that I've done in my life. And I think they made some
pretty big changes. Alex Handolfi emailed this one in, AskCTVV and RVV. 42. So I have brought my
lovely, beautiful, incredible wife. Rachel Van Vlead in here for this one. Hey, CVV, I've been listening
to your podcast since the summer of 2020 and been loving everything you do, especially the AskCTVV episodes
as of late. Well, thank you. I'm a huge. I'm a huge.
wrestling fan, but it's nice to hear
about you in a non-wrestling context.
I saved this question for Ask 42.
Asked TVV-42, the Mariano-Rivera edition,
no offense to Jackie Robinson at all.
This question is both for you and RVV as well.
What are both of your Mount Rushmore's for boy bands?
Thank you and keep doing everything that you do, Alex.
Well, welcome in RVV. Hello.
Hello.
That's a fun question.
I, we, they only give you the best question
here, honey.
I think so.
Your boy band Mount Rushmore.
Honestly, I was a huge boy band nerd, but the, the Mount Rushmore, and there's
only one, would be in sing.
Oh, so it's like a monument.
I think it's more of a monument than a Mount Rushmore.
I mean, there were some very good ones that I also had their CDs as well and, you know,
read the little booklet that had all the lyrics in it to sing along and know everything and watched
MTV religiously to see all the music videos. So I loved every boy band. But if we're talking to
Mount Rushmore, I don't know. I think Insink is just the number one. You were the one who taught me
that it's not NSYNC. I pronounced it NSYNC for the longest time. Maybe it is. Maybe I'm not a big
as big of a fan as I thought I was. I'm pretty sure when I interviewed Chris Kirkpatrick and I kept calling
it NSYNC, he kept saying, yeah, yeah. So the band in sync,
Yeah.
Like in sync.
I understand.
Yeah.
Were you a Justin girl or a JC girl?
I was a JC girl.
Now I'm a Justin girl just from his solo spin-off stuff.
Yeah.
So I actually have a Mount Rushmore here, Alex.
Backstreet Boy, I think I was more of a Backstreet Boys fan than in sync.
So Backstreet Boys then in sync, the 98 degrees.
And I have such a soft,
spot in my heart for LFO. Oh my goodness, do I love LF? Don't I love LFO, honey? Fun fact about
CVV, he can recite and rap, sing, I don't know, every word to Summer Girls. Hip-hop, Momrelates,
spick, and Span. Met you once Summer and it all began. You're the best girl that I ever did see,
the Great Leverry Bird Jersey 33. They had some other songs, too. I wouldn't know it,
living with you. Summer, they had a girl on TV.
They had Westside story.
News to me.
Every other time.
You were the LFO fan, I think.
Yeah, and rest in peace, two of their members.
Isn't that crazy?
So tragic.
What a great question there, Alex.
What's your favorite NSYN song, hon?
Sorry, I did it again.
What's for NSYNC song?
I mean, the No Strings Attached album was definitely my favorite album.
What an album.
I think it's going to be me, was probably,
my number one song back in the day.
But they're all good.
Do you listen to it on repeat on April 30th every year?
Because it's going to be May.
It's going to be my.
Wonderful question.
Send in more.
Ask RVV questions for the future.
I learn a lot from these.
So send them in.
Maybe not so many,
maybe not so much with the wrestling questions.
Rachel's wrestling knowledge is
it's lean.
And that's okay.
I actually appreciate that.
But if you're like,
what are Rachel's four favorite matches?
The answer is going to be,
I don't know.
Yeah.
There's a lot of disappointment with those questions.
I feel like I'm letting the fans down.
Not disappointment.
You're just, you know,
I think I'm the wrestling fan in the house and that's okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You and Logan.
Logan does love wrestling.
Yeah.
Da?
Da.
That's the noise.
She's making these.
Okay. Well, thank you, honey. Appreciate you. You're the best. Dillon.T.Y93. Rachel is the best.
This is from Instagram. Hey, CVV, would a TNA invasion angle work on WWE television?
I actually prefer the way they've been doing this. This relationship with NXT and TNA has been so mutually beneficial.
And I appreciate that they've had the opportunity to tell these stories one at a time.
I think where the invasion angle doesn't work is it now pits one company up against the other company, right?
If TNA invades WWE, one of them's got to be the baby face and one of them's got to be the heel, right?
This is what happened with the WCW invasion angle.
So, oh, we don't like WCW coming in here because I'm a WWE fan.
So I think that that's one part of it.
And the other part of it is you get some people that are lost in the shuffle.
if I'm just making up numbers here,
but if 10 TNA people come in and invade WWE,
you might be able to put a focus on two or three or four of them,
but then everybody else just kind of gets thrown by the wayside.
The way they've done this has really given an opportunity
for the individual stars to shine.
Like Jordan Grace having the opportunity to come in to NXT
and like have just the spotlight,
shining directly on her, I think that's a much better way to do it.
I'm still really curious if this partnership, this crossover,
bleeds into the main roster in any sort of way.
And I know there were a lot of rumors and speculation with Slamoviracy that recently happened
is A.J. Stiles going to show up at Slamoviracy.
That would have been great.
But it just feels to me with them not doing something at Slamoviracy.
And Slamovirisory is like it's not.
their WrestleMania. That's bound for glory, which is later on this year. Slamiversary is like,
kind of like their Summer Slam. So a big show, but not the biggest show. If they didn't work
someone like AJ Stiles into Slammiversary, I don't feel like the main roster crossover happens.
It feels to me, and I could be wrong, and I would love to be wrong, this does not feel like a
W.W.E. TNA partnership. This feels like an NXTNA partnership. But I,
I love it. And I hope that this isn't just a season that this is happening for. I hope it's not just a few months and then it disappears. I hope that this is something that the door swings both ways for a while. How exciting would the Royal Rumble be when we could say his name and he appears. Or if Moose comes out, like we already saw Jordan Grace come out in the women's Royal Rumble match last year. If the door continues to swing both ways and we can see.
see NXT stars in TNA and TNA stars in NXT.
It just continues to keep you on the edge of your seat because you never know what's
going to happen.
Are we going to see Josh Alexander in NXT?
Could you imagine?
Oh, my goodness.
I'm a big Josh Alexander guy.
Man, there's a lot of great matches that can happen there.
So that's something that I think about a lot.
I think that this is something that's going to continue on for a while.
Ghost Antenow on Instagram says,
will we ever get Will Sassau,
carrying cross,
and Jesse the body in the same room?
Well, my friend,
I mentioned I was in Minnesota on Monday.
Went to Raw.
It was so great to be able to see so many of you guys
and give a high five or snap a photo.
That was so cool.
Earlier that day, I did interview.
Jesse the body Ventura.
Great conversation.
You'll be seeing that in the next few weeks here.
Carian Cross came with me to the interview.
And there's a moment early on in the interview where I surprised Jesse by bringing
Carrion in.
And then Carian's talking as Jesse to Jesse Ventura.
Mind blowing.
So yes, that happened.
And then Carian shakes his hand.
Thank you.
This is so much.
fun. I jump back into the interview. I facetimed Will Sassau. So within the course of a few minutes,
we get Harry and Cross doing his Jesse Ventura impression for Jesse Ventura. And then we get
Will Sassau doing his Jesse Ventura impression for Jesse Ventura. I posted some photos of this on
social media. The sheer giddiness you can see on my face as I'm holding up my phone and you can
see Will Sassau's face on FaceTime, the sheer giddiness is hilarious. So it was everything I wanted
this moment to be, and then some. It was, it was, it's, I can't wait for you to see this. I'm sure
it'll be clipped up and posted everywhere, but I just felt like there was a real responsibility here
that if I was going to talk to Jesse the body of insurer, and by just sheer coincidence, I didn't even
plan this out. I picked the date when I was setting this up with Jesse Ventura. I just picked,
they said, oh, Monday's the best day for Jesse in his schedulers. Cool. Picked a random day in July.
It just so happened that Raw was in town. I didn't even plan it like that. So now the stars are
aligning. Like, this has to happen. Not only is Jesse available on Mondays, I picked this random Monday
in July. And
WWE is in town for
raw. Who's a raw
superstar? Carrying Cross. Carrying
Cross is booked on the show. Oh,
my gosh. It's like
it would have been wrong to not
do this. So
I can't wait for you guys to see this.
I can't wait.
Sean Bateman sent this one in on
Facebook. What bad
wrestling-themed movie besides ready to
rumble is a guilty pleasure
film. Well, come on. Ready to Rumble is not bad. Ready to Rumble is like, that's a, that's just a fun movie. I don't
know. I don't think Ready to Rumble is bad. I'll tell you what is bad. And this is my guilty pleasure
wrestling film. This is a deep, deep cut. It's a movie called Backyard Dogs about backyard wrestling
that my friends and I would gift to each other. The movie came out in 2000. We would gift it to each other
as like a joke because the movie is terrible.
And we were backyard wrestlers at the time.
So we very much related to the,
at least the concept of a movie about backyard wrestling.
The movie is so bad.
It's a two out of 10 on IMDB.
Here's the tagline for the movie or the description for the movie.
Two teenage boys aspire to win a backyard wrestling company.
Let me do that again, not competition.
Two teenage boys aspire to win a backyard wrestling champion.
and a chance to appear on a national TV show.
Two out of ten on IMDB.
The movie is really, really entertaining.
It is entertaining in that way of like,
it's so bad, it's good.
And that's what we're seeing with that movie.
So that is my guilty pleasure movie.
One of my best friends, Greg Cusack,
who really got me into wrestling.
wrestling. He was in the HCW, the backyard wrestling federation that I was in. He was, his character was named
Rage. Rage and Chris Sharp had a long, longstanding feud. I got to let Greg know that I mentioned him
during this episode and mentioned backyard dogs because we watched it in his parents' basement
so many times. What an atrocious movie that was. That's the guilty pleasure movie. I haven't seen it
in a long time.
I feel like I need to put it back on just to like relive the,
the goofiness of that movie and also just like the nostalgia of that era of my life.
Also, I'm just checking my email here.
It is official now.
This is completely unrelated as CV.
It is official.
Vancouver to host Survivor Series on Saturday, November 30.
That's one of my other hometowns.
I lived in Vancouver when I was hosting a show called 969 on MTV 2KG.
Canada. So there we go. Will we see you guys in Vancouver for Survivor Series? There was a rumor
that was going to be in L.A. I guess that was simply that. It was simply a rumor.
Adam John Keats on Facebook says, what guest appearance came together surprisingly quickly?
I actually had it happen just this past weekend. I mean, there's been others, but this one for sure
came together probably the fastest. I interviewed Chad Gable because I was in Minnesota. He's obviously
from Minnesota and lives there with his family.
We did the interview and he goes,
oh, are you getting some other interviews while WWE's in town?
I said, I mean, everyone's schedule's pretty tight.
I'm doing Jesse Ventura tomorrow, but I don't know if anybody else is available.
He goes, oh, I bet Otis would do it.
I said, really?
I'd love to have Otis on the show.
He goes, yeah, yeah, when we're done this interview,
I'll give him a call.
I said, amazing.
So sure enough, he calls him, Otis doesn't answer,
and then he sent him a text.
And just a few minutes later,
I got a random phone number from Duluth, Minnesota.
I bet this is it.
So I answer and he goes, hey, Christopher.
It's a dozer.
And we set it up.
And that one came together in just a matter of hours.
He was like, oh, what time works for you?
Send me the address of your hotel.
And I think I can make this work.
I'm just finishing up a poll day at the gym right now.
So I got to hang up the phone and get some pullups in.
But let's do it.
Like, sure.
And then a few hours later, Otis was at my hotel and we did it.
So that was a really quick turnaround.
One last year, when I recorded episode 500 of the podcast with DDP,
and it was at his house.
I stayed with him.
He goes, would you ever want to interview Butterbean?
I'm like, of course.
Yes, brawl for all.
Like, Butterbean's a legend.
So many great stories are that Johnny Knoxville knockout.
He goes, oh, let me call him.
and he goes, yeah, he'll be here at one o'clock.
Like, okay, well, I need to go do some research then.
I got to brush up on my butterbean knowledge.
So if you ever watch that interview, you'll be like,
oh, why didn't he ask this?
Or why wasn't the episode a little bit longer?
That's why I probably had two hours to figure that one out.
So those are some of the interesting ones.
And I'm always up for it.
I feel like I have a pretty good base knowledge,
like a pretty good general base knowledge of wrestling.
I feel like you could throw almost anybody from any era at me.
And I feel like I'd be able to have a, at least some sort of a conversation with them.
But the more time, I think the better to really dive in deep to all of their life and their
career and everything like that.
But those are two with like a two-ish hour, three-ish hour turnaround.
And you'll be seen that Otis episode in the next few weeks, I think.
J Show 556 on Instagram.
Best Baseball Stadium and World Series predictions.
So my dad and I go to a different MLB Stadium every single year.
This has been a tradition that we've been doing since the year 2000.
Obviously, we missed one year because of the state of the world in 2020.
But we've been to 24 stadiums because obviously Toronto, you know, been there many times,
been to Rogers Center many times.
It'll always be Skydome to me.
I think when you think about best stadiums for both my dad and I, it's a toss-up.
It's Fenway or Wrigley.
Those are the two like classic traditional stadiums.
There's just something about the air just feels a little bit different when you're in there.
Those are definitely the two.
There's a lot of great modern day stadiums as well, but those are the two definitely for sure.
And as a Torontoian.
I hate to say it, but Blue Jays Stadium,
Roger Center's probably pretty far down on that list.
I don't know.
There's just something about it.
When you walk into Rogers Center,
it feels like you're like in a convention center.
It just feels like very like cold and like,
I don't know, it's like cement everywhere.
Or when you walk into especially Fenway,
you're just like walking on the street and then boom,
there's the stadium.
Wrigley's the same way like,
oh, just in the middle of Wrigleyville.
Oh, there it is.
And I love that they have.
have, they built the neighborhood out around the stadium rather than a lot of the newer stadiums.
It's kind of like, here's an empty plot of land. Let's just put a stadium up here.
And it's like, oh, yeah, I guess so. I guess that's fine. So those are my, those are my two.
World Series predictions, I have no idea. I've, I'm not even going to dabble there.
The Yankees have been playing really well. I mean, I much to my chagrin because they're in the
same division as the Blue Jays.
I don't know.
I'm not following baseball nearly as much as I used to.
And baseball was my sport growing up.
Baseball and hockey.
Baseball in the summer, hockey in the winter.
And then my parents, when I was like nine or ten, my parents were like, you can only
play on the travel team for one of them.
It's either baseball or hockey, you've got to choose.
And I chose baseball.
So then baseball became like my main focus for most of those years in my life.
I love baseball.
But I just don't follow it nearly as much.
I love nothing more than going to a game and I love the atmosphere.
And going to a game is fantastic.
I just don't follow it a ton.
I think football is probably the only sport that I'm actually following, like,
week to week.
And it's a lot easier with football.
You only got 17 games to catch up.
You have one game a week to watch.
Whereas with baseball, it's like you got six or seven a week.
And if you really want to keep up with it, you're like, oh, my gosh.
Like, you know, watch on.
every single watch every game and really figure it all out.
So I can't give you a World Series prediction.
Sorry, Jay Show 556.
That is the final question here for Ask CVV number 42,
the Jackie Robinson edition and also the Mariano Rivera edition.
Thank you guys so much for hanging out with me on this one.
I appreciate you and send those questions in for Ask CVV number 43.
Who's jersey number 43?
I guess we'll have to figure that out.
And we'll wrap things up with this quote from Simon Sinek,
who has a great book called Start With Why, which I believe, yeah,
I referenced that on the last episode, great book.
His quote is, we'd achieve more if we chase the dream instead of the competition.
Ooh, a lot to that one.
Be great, be grateful, have an amazing weekend.
Enjoy SummerSlam.
We will see you on the next one for some more insight.
Jim Rome takes on sports.
Why? Because I have a job to do.
With rapid fire takes.
So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs on this notion today.
No idea what you're talking about.
You're complaining more than you like to breathe air.
It's like you get up in the morning only to complain and cry and moan on social media about things that you don't even understand.
He's the spitfire of sports smack.
Take advantage of it. Get up in here.
