Starting point is 00:00:01 Oh my goodness. Welcome back to another one here on Insight. I'm CVV, Chris Van Vleet. Thank you so much for being with us on this one. And thank you, as always, for helping to make Insight the number one wrestling podcast on the planet. I appreciate how many of you guys
Starting point is 00:00:36 have left comments on Spotify. They're relatively new. They just started rolling them out over the last few weeks, and it's so cool to see how many of you guys have taken advantage of that. We've pulled a bunch of questions for today's Ask CVV episode from Spotify.
Starting point is 00:00:51 So keep them coming, please. Just any sort of feedback on there is amazing. Not unlike on YouTube. So cool to see the likes on there and the comments on there. If you're not already following the podcast, I know that most of you are. I mean, I feel like most of you are. But then I look at the numbers and I'm like,
Starting point is 00:01:11 oh my gosh, like 70% of people who listen to the show don't follow the show. If that's you, just hit follow. on Spotify or Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen right now. It seriously helps so much. And it's so little for you. All you're doing is clicking a button for me. It's a massive thing.
Starting point is 00:01:28 It helps the show continue to grow. And the bigger the show gets, the bigger the guests can continue to get. And as you've been seeing over the last few months, we've been on a bit of a roll. So we're going to close out 2024 in a big, big way. I can't wait for you guys to see who we have lined up already for August and then who we're looking to book and who's going to be coming on in September, October, and then as the year continues to go on. So I just appreciate you guys for being here. You are a real one if you're listening to an Ask CVV episode. I say that all the time.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I understand why you might want to listen if Cody Rhodes is on the show or The Undertaker or Ray Mysterio or Booker T or. whomever it might be, but if you're here right now, and it's just you and me hanging out like this, that's how I know you're a real one. So welcome to Ask CVV number 43, the Richard Petty Edition. And also the Troy Palomalu edition, although makes my skin crawl as a Browns fan to say that one.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And also as a baseball fan, this is also the Dennis Eckersley, edition, the king of the sidearm, and the R.A. Dickie edition. Man, the knuckleball king. Oh, so good. So welcome to Ask CVV number 43. Who will be on Ask CVV number 44? Who will, who will that edition be dedicated to? Send in some of those suggestions and let me know. It's always so fun, dive in into a little fun sport stuff with you guys when we do that. If this is the first time you've ever tuned into an Ask CVV episode. First of all, welcome. And this is easy. You send in your questions using the hashtag Ask CVV on social media, or you put it in the comments on Spotify, or you
Starting point is 00:03:29 shoot me an email. CVV at chrisfanfleet.com. We are coming off a huge SummerSlam. We got a few questions that are talking about that. So let's dive right into this. I was in Cleveland this past weekend. so good to be back in my American home. Cleveland was home from 2010 to 2014. So all five of those years, all of 2010, all of 2011, 12, 13, and 14. And then I moved to Miami, the very end of 2014. Then I lived in South Florida for five years. So it was so good to be back home in my American hometown. That was the first American city that I ever lived in after moving from Canada. so good to run into so many of you guys, both at SummerSlam and the tailgate party that we did on West 6th Street
Starting point is 00:04:19 with the amazing matches there from AIW that were just in the middle of West 6th Street. We had a ring in the middle of West 6th Street. I may or may not have got involved in one of those matches and, you know, I may or may not have delivered a rock bottom in the middle of that ring. Man, it was a blast. And also great seeing so many of you guys at RussellCon as well.
Starting point is 00:04:40 So I look forward to, I think maybe bad blood. I think maybe bad blood in Atlanta. I think that'll be the next PLE that I'll be at. But we'll figure that out. And when I do put that into Sharpie rather than just a pencil plan, when that does get confirmed, I'll let you guys know here. And I look forward to seeing you there. So let's dive into this.
Starting point is 00:05:05 This is from Greg the Great 117 on Twitter. Hey, CVV, it was so. cool to hear you during the SummerSlam press conference. What exactly was Cody talking about with you? So that's a good question. I've got a lot of tweets about this, got a lot of messages about this. I think that some people for some reason were, like, I don't know, they misconstrued what he said, and they thought that Cody was mad at me for some reason, which is strange
Starting point is 00:05:33 because if you listen to the actual words that he was saying there, he said, I loved our interview. I thought it was a home run. And then what he's talking about here is he's referencing there's a lot of people who don't watch these interviews, don't listen to these interviews. And I get that. I understand that. That interview was an hour and 13 minutes long. It is a big ask for someone to take an hour and 13 minutes out of their day to listen or to watch a full interview. What happened was there was one part of that interview that got taken out of context and became a headline that spread wildly across Twitter that was, it just was taken out of context.
Starting point is 00:06:19 There's no other way to say it. And in the full context of the conversation for anyone like you, I'm assuming, assuming who listen to this or watch this, there was nothing there. You listen to the full interview, you watch the full interview. It all sounds great. It was a great conversation. One of my favorites that I've done in a long. long time. But unfortunately, someone took a quote from the interview, made a headline out of it.
Starting point is 00:06:45 And then when that got spread on social media, people who didn't watch one second of the interview took just this headline and then came to their own conclusions from it. So what Cody's referencing in this press conference is the frustration of like, this is the new media world that we live in now. understanding that people are going to spread this type of information, whether they have consumed the content or not. That's what he was referencing. And that's why he's like, you know, it leaves me and some other wrestlers really scared to do interviews because you don't know how your words are going to be taken here. So there's no issue at all with me and Cody. I texted with him earlier this week. We both love the interview. We look forward to the next one that we're going to do. But unfortunately,
Starting point is 00:07:36 like that's not the first time that this has happened. It will not be the last time that it happens. But I just and I don't think there's any solution other than people should watch the entire interview. But again, I get that that's a really big ask to watch the full thing to listen to the full thing. But it just again, really strange that people thought there was an issue there with Cody and I. Not at all. Like listen to the words that he's saying. There's no issue at all. I loved the interview. I also loved the interview. it's just the issue here is with people who don't watch it and just take one headline and run with it. But again, an honor to be in Cleveland for SummerSlam and all the festivities that surrounded SummerSlam.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And yeah, cool that I got to ask a question of Cody. Because I am curious there, right? He gives the actual question that I did ask Cody at the press conference was talking about like what's next for him and Roman or what's next for the championship. because it sure seemed as he was delivering that very purposeful last crossroads to solo. And I think he gave solo, I think it was six. I think he gave him six crossroads. And the over under, by the way, on my bookie was, it was three and a half. So was it going to be over or under three and a half crossroads?
Starting point is 00:08:57 I feel like picking the over would have been a real easy bet there. But he gave him six crossroads. The last one felt like it was delivered very much with a purpose. does that mean that we're setting up for it to be Cody Roman as the next match? I don't think so. I feel like this is setting more up to be like a bloodline thing, new bloodline versus old bloodline. But I guess that leads us to like what's next for Cody. It's not even a question that's been asked here.
Starting point is 00:09:25 I'm sure we'll talk about it more as we head into bad blood and then as we head into Survivor Series and Bash in Berlin. I feel like it's Randy Orton there at some point in 2024. I don't know. We will see. What's next for Cody? That is going to be a big question. Future is Fontaine on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:09:49 What was your favorite match from SummerSlam? Mine was Punk versus McIntyre. I don't think you can deny that the storytelling in the CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre match with Seth Rollins there as the hilarious special guest referee. The storytelling was unmatched. There were seven great matches on that card, but the storytelling in that match was the best.
Starting point is 00:10:11 It was masterful. It was just so, so well done. And the way that they paid homage to the Brett Hart v. Undertaker match with Sean Michaels as a special guest referee, oh, chef's kiss to that one. So I'm totally on board with you. and I would like to point out that if you listen to Ask CVV number 42 last week,
Starting point is 00:10:35 I went seven for seven with my predictions for SummerSlam with the bonus prediction of saying that Roman Raines would come back. So I got them all here. I predicted them all absolutely perfectly. I don't know if this is something I'll be able to keep up, but I will hang my hat on that one. SummerSlam 2024, absolute perfect, seven for seven with the bonus one that I threw in there of like, yeah, I can't see Roman Raines returning at any other point in time.
Starting point is 00:11:07 And it wasn't that I thought now was the right time for Roman Raines to come back. The way that I looked at it was Roman's going to come back at one of the big four paper views. So obviously two of them have already happened. It can't come back at, well, I guess it could come back at Royal Rumble 2025, but that feels like it's too far. from now. So I really narrowed it down to it's either SummerSlam or it's Survivor Series. And I figured it's got to be SummerSlam to then lead into whatever story is going to be told at Survivor's Series. But what a moment. And I appreciate the long entrance way, like his music hits. Then we see him. Then he walks to the ring and it's like he's going to take out solo, right? Right? Oh, there it is.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Okay. Superman Punch, Spear. Ah, all right. Okay. Now, where does it go from here? And that's the question that we have. Dom turning on Liv, fantastic. Just great storytelling or Don turning. Dom turning on Ria joining Live. That's what I meant to say. Dom and Liv now being a thing. That storyline is so interesting. The event as a whole was so good for building on these storylines that we have and allowing whatever is going to happen next to happen. And man, it was, I know it's so hard with recency bias, but this is the best SummerSlam in the Triple H era. I'm confident in saying that. And then I think that, you know, the SummerSlam 2021 and 2020 need an asterisk next to them because of just the state of the world at that point in time.
Starting point is 00:12:51 This is the best SummerSlam in recent memory. That's for sure. And we'd have to dive deep into the weeds here, but a strong case could be made for this being, I think a top 10 SummerSlam? Easy. Top five SummerSlam? Perhaps.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Perhaps. Nelson Carroll wrote this one in via email. Hey, CVV, really love the show. I listen to it at work all the time, and it makes the time go by. I also really love your different perspectives on moments in WWE. Speaking of, it felt like SummerSlam this past weekend was the best.
Starting point is 00:13:25 of the Triple H era. Wow, it's so fun. I just said that. I wasn't even planning to read this email. And a lot of people are calling it that. The only complaint that I've seen about it so far is how short the IC title match was. I've heard people say that it makes Sammy, the man who beat Gunther, look weak. What are your thoughts?
Starting point is 00:13:43 Well, Nelson, I think what it does on the flip side of that is it makes Bronbreaker look really strong. It makes Bronbreaker look like a machine. So they had that amazing match at Money in the Bank. Sammy and Braun. Sammy ends up squeaking out of victory there. And then I think it's Braun figured Sammy out. Braun figured out what makes Sammy tick, and he figured out exactly what he needs to do to beat him.
Starting point is 00:14:10 That is the story that's being told here. Now, Braun Breaker can go on an absolute tear, and maybe he'll even have some matches where they're just complete squashes. Maybe he has some title offenses where it's two minutes. one minute, you know, a minute and a half, whatever it happens to be. I think that that's what this match does. I don't think it makes Sammy look weak at all. Sammy was a great intercontinental champion.
Starting point is 00:14:37 And I think that there was actually a point in time there where we thought Sammy was going to hold the belt for a much shorter period of time because a lot of people, myself included, thought that Chad Gable was going to be the Intercontinental Champion going into SummerSlam. They obviously won a different way with both Sammy and the Intercontinental Championship and with Chad Gable and the new faction that he's in here and things that are going on with the Wyatt 6, I think that have a little patience. I've always been preaching patience when it comes to pro wrestling.
Starting point is 00:15:08 And I think that this is one of those situations where give it a month or two to see how things actually shape up with Bronbreaker. Because I feel like we're going to look at that match and go, I get it now. That was brilliant the way that. that they booked SummerSlam. Brett Clark, Brettie Boy, 1972 on Instagram, says, question for the number 43 Dennis Eckersley edition. There we are. Talking sidearm again, baby.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Longtime listeners since around 2019. Wow. I started listening after hearing you on Not Sam Wrestling. Sorry, Sam, I ended up cutting his podcast from my regular playlist. Come on, you can't cut Sam out of the regular playlist. Sam is so good. Shout out to Sam. Sam Roberts, so good.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I think I'm a real listener as I listen to all the Ask CVV episodes straight after they're released, so they're current. Appreciate you, man. I'm falling behind on the interviews, though. That's okay. The interviews can, you know, you can listen to those in a week or two or three. The Ask CVVs are very timely. What are your thoughts on the bloodline versus bloodline feud now that Roman is back?
Starting point is 00:16:17 Who would you like to see partner up with him? I'm thinking that initially we might see Cody with K.O. and Sammy, but ultimately, I'd like to see a reunited Uso's with the Rock or another, quote, family member. It sure feels like this is what we're getting for SummerSlam. And it's the funniest thing, the most interesting thing about the bloodline storyline is we all thought this was dead in the water last year. Here comes Sammy to just reinvigorate this, make it interesting again, add another layer here. Then maybe it started to feel like it was fizzling out. What's this? The rock is part of the
Starting point is 00:17:00 bloodline? Oh my gosh. It got exciting again. And then just when it starts to feel like, I don't know, where is this thing going? Solo Sacoa becoming the head of the table. Paul Haming going through an announced table. Oh, my goodness. So there is still a lot of juice left to squeeze out of the bloodline. line. I think when you look at what happened this past weekend at SummerSlam and Randy Orton coming out, K-O coming out, I don't think that stuff's happening by accident. That feels like it's happening to to just kind of put that out there so that's in our mind, to put that, to plant that seed so that if when this happens at SummerSlam, it makes sense. I feel like we're going to see. see the Rock, again, at some point in maybe it's not 2024, but between now and the Royal
Starting point is 00:18:00 Rumble, and that also includes Raw being on Netflix, it seems to me like the Rock will be coming back at some point in this window to then start to set up whatever it happens to be at WrestleMania 41. And I know it's early, it's real early, but it's also like super exciting to be thinking about WrestleMania 41 already. It's going to be massive. You've got a, like, the stakes are high. John Cena's last WrestleMania. It certainly feels like it could be Roman versus Rock.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Then you've got whatever the Cody matches there. WrestleMania 40 was good. I mean, WrestleMania 40 was great. But what could WrestleMania 41 be? And I think that there's a lot of components there. Survivor's series being a big one of them. So it certainly feels like it's new bloodline versus old bloodline. We've got enough members there. We've certainly got enough members of the family to make it like just a bloodline match.
Starting point is 00:19:05 But I guess we'll see how that one goes. But I'm excited to see it. Every single person that's part of that storyline is so talented. And I've known Jacob Fautou had an immense amount of ability. I've known him for years. Now he's being able to showcase it on the biggest stage of the mall. And as Jacob Fattu continues to have more and more opportunities to shine, man, that guy is such a star. And I feel like he could play a really big role in what's going to happen with the bloodline and what's going to happen with SummerSlam.
Starting point is 00:19:43 J.R. underscore Fetty 56 on Instagram. What should I do to become an announcer slash broadcaster for WWE. Well, JR, I don't know what you're, maybe that's a junior. I don't know what your current situation is right now, but what you should be doing is taking absolutely any opportunity that you can to get in front of a microphone and become a broadcaster for whatever local wrestling companies may exist around where you live.
Starting point is 00:20:12 You should be doing whatever you can to meet independent wrestling promoters and other people who can get you into those scenarios where you're honing your skills. This isn't one of those things where you can just go on Indeed.com and apply to do it without any sort of experience. So what you should be doing is padding your resume in any way that you can. Blake Chadwick, a really good friend of mine who's absolutely crushing it on main event. I've known Blake for 10 years, I would always see him as the commentator at any of the local independent shows I would go to in South Florida. He was calling any MMA show that would allow him to do it. Like basically anyone that would say yes, he would do it.
Starting point is 00:21:01 So I think that that's a really important thing early on in any sort of career is try to get to yes. Try to, you know, because these are sought after positions. Even on the independent level, these are very sought after positions. positions. So try to get to yes. What can you do to just get in the room? What can you do to just get into the event? What can you do to just get them to say yes? And then continue to build on that. And Vic Travelyante, you'll know him as Vic Joseph, who is just, again, just like Blake, crushing it. He was the commentator for Raw for a little while, but crushing it on NXT as a commentator. I've known Vic for 13 years.
Starting point is 00:21:45 We go back to when we worked at a radio station together in Cleveland. I was at WDOK, the music station on one side of the hall. He was across the hall at 92, 3, the fan, the sports station. He was working as a, he was doing some sports commentary there, but he was working as a sports radio show host. Anything you can do to hone your skills and to get better. And that does not just apply to being an announcer or a broadcaster, that applies to really any skill.
Starting point is 00:22:15 The more reps you can get, the better you'll get at it. Like the 10,000 hour rule that it was made famous by Malcolm Gladwell in his book, oh man, was it the outliers or the tipping point? Both books are so good. But the 10,000 hour rule that Malcolm Gladwell talks about, you know, was outliers. And now I'm thinking about it. So the 10,000 hour rule is very, very.
Starting point is 00:22:41 much a real thing. It's the idea of if you put 10,000 hours of your time into something, that's when you can start to achieve mastery. So it's really just about getting the reps in there and continuing to improve on it. And I will say this from me to you. Good luck in your journey. Best of luck. And I hope to continue to see you succeeding. Passion, drive, and patience. Starting point is 00:24:12 of all time is, I think the Rock's best wrestling match, like his best in-ring wrestling match. And it's the Rock versus Brock Lesnar, SummerSlam, 2002, Brock beating Rock, becoming at that time, the youngest W.W.E. champion in history. What about Randy Orden? Well, he was a world champion. We're talking W.W.E. champion here. That's my, that's my favorite match of SummerSlam, and that's my favorite rock match. Like, well, WrestleMania 18 is my favorite match of all time. There's a lot of different,
Starting point is 00:24:49 you know, that's one of those matches you can watch with the volume off and just go, oh my gosh, amazing. Like the storytelling and that is so good. When we're talking about actual in-ring wrestling, the actual moves that are being done, Rock versus Brock Lesnar,
Starting point is 00:25:05 is such, such a classic. So that's the one for me. Dave, Guymon wrote this one in on Spotify comments. There we go. Love seeing the comments on Spotify. Hey, CVV, I'm loving the show. It's become my favorite podcast around. Thank you, Dave. Though Bailey lost her title at SummerSlam, her resume speaks for herself. She is such a great in-ring wrestler. Plus, she has Mike's skills and charisma. I feel like her 118-day title reign was a missed opportunity by WWE. it seems like she wasn't involved in any great storylines and wasn't used to put over new talent.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Agree or disagree. Regardless, what's next for Bailey? I feel like Bailey is, it's almost like she's so talented and that's what maybe hurts her. And that's a crazy statement to say. But Bailey's the type of person that if you have her at the top of the card, you have her in the middle of the card, or you have her in the opening match, you know you can trust her to go out there and just absolutely kill it and make whoever she's in the ring with look like an absolute star. So I think that when you think about the run that Bailey had, it feels like it was setting up just to get Naya Jax in that position. And then I feel like we're setting up for a Tiffany cash in on Nia Jax at some point in time and the story that will be told from there. It definitely felt like,
Starting point is 00:26:37 to me, like not enough was done with Bailey between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. Bailey won the women's Royal Rumble, and she wasn't even featured at the WrestleMania press conference. That had everybody kind of scratching their head and going, uh, what? Like the winner of the Royal Rumble isn't even, and you know she's getting a title shot because that's what happens when you win the Royal Rumble, not even featured at the Russellmania press conference. And I know that there were a lot of big stories being told going into
Starting point is 00:27:11 WrestleMania 40, especially with the main event on both nights, both night one and two and night one leading into night two. But it's just a strange thing that there wasn't more that was done with that. And when you think about Bailey, she's kind of in that position that the Ms. has been in, that position that Dolph Ziegler, was in for so long. The position that Natty's been in for quite a long time were like, they're just so good. They're so talented. They don't have bad matches. They have the ability to work well with anybody. And I think that that's what this feels like. It's like you can just
Starting point is 00:27:54 trust Bailey to go out there and do her thing. As for what's next for Bailey? I don't know. That's actually a really interesting question because it seems like, I mean, it's not, it's not happening. yet and it may not happen for a while, but it sure feels like whatever's happening with this new friendship with Naya Jackson, Tiffany, that is going to come down, come crashing down when Tiffany looks for that opportunity to cash in. But I don't know. I don't know what's next for Bailey and I can completely understand where you're coming from here, Dave. They could have done a lot more, not just with the title reign. They could have done a lot more with her story going into WrestleMania as well. And then look, then she has the WrestleMania moment.
Starting point is 00:28:39 She wins the championship at WrestleMania, and still, it's not capitalized on it. So I'm with you here. Mr. Antonio Smith 27 on Twitter. Hey, CVV, with all the traveling that you do, are you a window person or are you an aisle person? And why? Well, for the longest time, I was a window person. I just love you. You feel like you get just a little bit of extra space, especially if you're planning to
Starting point is 00:29:06 sleep on a late night flight or a red eye flight, you can just put your hand up on the window, maybe with a hoodie. That's what I like to do. I like to bunch up a hoodie and use it as my pillow and like to go to sleep there. But recently, I have switched. I've recently switched to being an aisle person. And I'll tell you why. It blows my mind. I drink a lot of water. I will preface is by saying I drink a lot of water. It blows my mind how many times I'll be on an afternoon flight and fully grown people sitting next to me on a flight that leaves at 357 p.m. We'll fall asleep for the whole flight. And when that's a long flight, like recently I flew from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, like a five-hour flight, and they'll fall asleep for the
Starting point is 00:29:59 entire length of the flight. And maybe you didn't have a great sleep the night before, but five hours of sleeping, and I'm sitting there next to the window. And I've got two people right next to me who are asleep. What am I going to do? So I have recently switched to being an aisle person for that exact reason. Now I can drink all the water I want. If I want to go to the restroom three times during that flight, I don't have to ask two
Starting point is 00:30:28 people to get up and, you know, move out of the way so I can do that. But on my last flight, oh, man, on my last flight, both people fell asleep and then the aisle person woke up. And I was like, oh my gosh, thank you. Thank you so much. And I was like, hey, is it okay if I go to the bathroom? She's like, yeah, of course. I figured us talking and then the aisle woman getting up and unbuckling and standing up. I figured that might wake up the middle person enough just for a second. Hey, I'm so sorry. I really need to go to the bathroom. I've been holding this and I figured that would wake them up. It didn't. The woman who is sitting next to me just continue to sleep through all of this. So I needed to go bad and there was like two and a half hours before we landed. I had to go.
Starting point is 00:31:19 I ended up standing up on my seat, stepping over that woman, stepping over her onto the aisle seat, and then stepping down into the aisle so I could go to the bathroom. And it was in that moment as I was walking to the back where I went, I'm never getting a window seat ever again, unless there's a ton of leg room in an exit row and you don't have to disturb anybody to go to the restroom. but I am 1,000% an aisle person now, Mr. Antonio Smith, 27. Viseroi underscore Sahir on Instagram says, how do you force motivate yourself to be committed in a healthy habit?
Starting point is 00:32:06 There are a lot of layers to that one. I think the big answer here is it is it is hard to get yourself to do anything that you don't want to do. If you start forcing yourself to adopt any sort of healthy habit, whether that's drinking more water or that's going to the gym or that's eating healthier. If you're forcing yourself to do this, that habit is not going to be around for very long. And I feel like you've got to try to find a way that you're linking this to something positive. Because when you're forcing yourself to do anything, there's a negative connotation that's attached to that. there's a great book called Atomic Habits, which I highly recommend. I think if you read that, you'll find some ways to build healthy habits into your day. But one of the big things I talk
Starting point is 00:32:56 about is habit stacking. So here's a perfect example of habit stacking. If you're not good at flossing your teeth, well, when's a good time to floss your teeth? Well, it's usually before or after you brush your teeth. So you would do something where you would have a visual cue. Maybe you leave the floss out right next to your toothbrush. Or maybe you leave the floss out right next to where you turn the faucet on. So you go to turn the faucet on, you go, oh, yeah. Oh, man, I got to floss my teeth more often. So stacking those habits, you're stacking a good habit on top of a habit that you're already doing. I think that's a really good way to build, start to build, healthy habits into your day. But check out atomic habits. Even if you just read the first few chapters,
Starting point is 00:33:45 there's a lot of like really great takeaways in there to help you. And that's, there's a good reason why that book is, I think, still a New York Times bestseller. That book has been a bestseller for years. But starting to stack a good habit in addition to something else. Like, think of the things you do already in your everyday life. Every day you're brushing your teeth or certainly I'm hoping that you brush your teeth every day. You're showering every day. Again, certainly hoping that you shower every day. You're putting on your shoes every day. Like there's these things you're already doing every day, whether you realize that they're a habit or not, if you were to start to stack a healthy habit on top of those things that you're already doing, like, yeah, here's another really silly one. Maybe you forget to
Starting point is 00:34:31 wash your face. If you start to put your face wash in the shower with you, you go to reach for the soap or you go to reach for the shampoo. Oh, man, there's my face wash right there. Oh, yeah. I've been telling myself I need to wash my face more often. So boom, there it is. So hopefully that helps a little bit. I know it's helped for me a lot. I do a lot of those little things I was just talking about there. Like taking my vitamins. Taking my vitamins, say my prayers, I didn't mean to do that. But that was something I would habitually forget to do, even though I knew I needed to do it. Then I started stacking it on to something that I was already doing in my day. And now it's been a long time since I forgot to take him.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Nominon on Instagram says with L.A. Knight, yeah, winning the U.S. title, which wrestler deserves a title after all of their hard work. So great to see Sean win that championship, Sean being his real name. L.A. Knight is so deserving of that moment and of that championship. and it couldn't happen to a better guy. And it's happening on SummerSlam. It's happening in Logan Paul's hometown. There were a lot of layers to that, and I love it.
Starting point is 00:35:47 And if you haven't seen it yet, his press conference after SummerSlam was hilarious. He came in there with just this wild over-the-top energy. He starts yelling at someone off camera. Turns out it's CM Punk and nobody watching at home, knows it's CM Punk and he says something about he says something like you need to have a few less drinks there sir and then we all realize in the room at CM Punk and then he says oh yeah it's by the way that's CM Punk it's just fun it was very fun to see that he doesn't get enough credit
Starting point is 00:36:25 LA Knight doesn't get enough credit for all the accomplishments that he had before he went to WWE. And unfortunately, that is often the case. There's a lot of people that aren't aware of his work as Eli Drake and everything that he did in the NWA and everything that he did in Impact Wrestling. He's a two-time world champion in Impact slash TNA, whatever you want to call it. I keep saying Impact because he was there when it was still called Impact. He's a two-time world champion. He may be a world champion again in WWE. And I just, as a fan of L.A. Knight and as a friend of L.A. night, I love to see that. I think Chad Gable is most deserving of a singles championship after all of his hard work. There are a lot of other people that
Starting point is 00:37:14 we could name, but Chad Gable is, he's doing the best work of his career right now. And Chad Gable's been with W.W.E. for over 10 years, if you want to count the fact that he signed his contract in 2013. He didn't debut till 2014, but 10 plus years, and he hasn't won a singles championship. So I think Chad Gable is the answer to that question without a shadow of a doubt, if you're asking me. And he's also the next guest on Insight on Tuesday. So episode number 640 is going to be Chad Gable on Tuesday. And we talk about that.
Starting point is 00:37:57 We talk about the fact that he hasn't won a championship yet. And we talk about the fact that he could definitely slide right into that world title picture and we'd go, yep, yeah, very deserving world champion. Marcelino Hernandez on Facebook says, give one legit world title run to a legend who only made it to the intercontinental championship. Two names immediately pop into my mind here. Mr. Perfect and Owen Hart. And I'm sure you could think of a few other people, but hard to argue.
Starting point is 00:38:29 you against those two. If you gave a world title run to Mr. Perfect or to Owen Hart, I mean, the fact that we're talking about them now and they weren't world champions kind of makes you scratch your head a little bit. Like Owen won every other championship but the world championship. I mean, he technically won it at a house show and the McCall was reversed and it wasn't really a thing. It was just to create a moment for the live audience there. But Mr. Perfect are Orrin Hart. What? Owen Hart. I couldn't even say it. Mr. Perfect or Owen Hart. And maybe we should do some more of these types of questions where,
Starting point is 00:39:05 boom, I answer them in 20 seconds and we move on from there. Z. Morris 99 on Instagram. Is that the Zach Morris reference? Is that a saved by the bell? Zach Morris reference? Or is your name something to do with Z Morris? Hey, CVV, been listening for a few months.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Great job. What is your favorite football movie? Hands down for me, It is Friday Night Lights. The way that that movie was shot, Peter Berg's directing incredible performances, of course, the real standout performance there being Billy Bob Thornton,
Starting point is 00:39:43 that's it for me. And that movie came out just as I had left high school. I was 21, 20 or 21 when that movie came out. It was 21, I think, when that movie came out. still felt very, like I still felt a tie to like high school sports, collegious sports, the family that is built in the brotherhood that is built with your teammates. I played baseball at a very high level growing up in Canada. And I was still playing, I think that might have been my last year that I played when that movie came out. I just felt like I could really
Starting point is 00:40:23 relate to it. Plus, there's the one scene. with Tim McGraw. And I'm a Tim McGraw fan when it comes to his music. But there's that one scene where Tim McGraw comes home a little bit drunk and his son is hooking up on the couch and he's just so pissed off that his son can't hold on to the ball when it's thrown to him. And he just goes berserk on his son and he's like, you're going to hold on to the ball now? You're going to hold on to the ball now? And he grabs some duct tape and he starts duct taping his hands up in front of his girlfriend. It's like such a powerful scene. It's definitely the best work that Tim McGrath's ever done in his acting career. There's so many scenes like that that I love. And look, there's a ton of absolutely incredible
Starting point is 00:41:07 football movies, but that's the one for me. And I know you're going to say, Chris, CVV, what about any given Sunday? What about Remember the Titans? What about Rudy? What about Varsity Blues? What about Deep Cut here? Hilarious comedy. What about the Waterboy, which would totally be in a completely different category here. All great movies. But for me, Friday Night Lights, which then did an amazing spinoff to the Friday Night Lights TV series, which is, man, one of the greatest TV shows ever. That's it. Man, that, that's it for me. Friday Night Lights, baby. Clear eyes, full hearts. Yeah, if you watch the movie, you just said can't lose. Clear eyes, full hearts. All right, another Spotify comment.
Starting point is 00:42:00 And my favorite segment of the show, it's Ask RVV time. My wife has been on standby waiting for this exact second of the show. So, hi, my love. Hello. This is from Nick B, hashtag Ask RVV. How do you feel about Chris committing to put work into his hanghill impression? And then this next line is so good. The burden of this will fall heavily.
Starting point is 00:42:27 on you. Boy, I'll tell you hot. Nick, burden is an understatement. I mean, you nailed it, Nick. Although you should, if you were within the four walls of this house, at any point in time, you're going to hear all kinds of silly voices and impressions, especially now that we have a 14-month-old. It's true.
Starting point is 00:42:49 There are impressions left and right. I have to say the Hank Hill is probably one of my least favorite one. What? But it's clearly my best impression. That's a stretch. I think, I think macho man and, oh, yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:09 macho man, yeah, the cream rises. Yeah. It's okay. Like when you get, when you have people like Will Saso do, yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:19 thank you. It's very entertaining. Logan loves it. That's her new favorite thing, hearing you do macho man. If I'd use the brain, to break out like, let me tell you something, brother. She loves it.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Loves it. So thanks, Nick. Thanks, Nick B. The burden will fall heavily on you. I'll sell propane and propane accessories. It's not even good. Like I told you guys last week, I could only do the one line.
Starting point is 00:43:47 And I can also do the, oh, oh, oh, that's it. It's enough. Adonis, says ask CVV and ask RVV if you guys met in a different point of your lives, college, high school, whatever. Do you think you guys would still get along or even be in a relationship? You were a dork in high school.
Starting point is 00:44:12 What? You didn't know me. You told me you were a dork. I was. I was a dork in high school. Big time nerd until probably 12th grade. I think we talk about this a lot, actually. actually, that we both think that we met at the perfect time in our lives to actually make this work.
Starting point is 00:44:34 And that if it was 10 years ago, 15 years ago, five years ago even, it might not have worked because we both were at two very different stages. Right person, right time. Like, I don't think either of us were ready if we had met 20 years ago or whatever it would have been. Because I think it's like it's right place, right time, right person. And I'm totally with you. Of course we still would have got along, but would we be married now with a beautiful little girl and a little baby boy on the way?
Starting point is 00:45:07 No, not at all. Yeah, I mean, probably not. You never know, but. How would I have met you as well? Yeah, we were always living in different areas of the country, for that matter. That's one of the craziest things about our story is like, how does someone from Pickering, Ontario, Canada, and someone from Sussex County, New Jersey,
Starting point is 00:45:28 meet in Los Angeles, not even. I was living in Los Angeles. You weren't. How do we meet in California? So many things had to happen for this to happen. Yeah, so many things. And I've mentioned this before, but I want to give hope out there to anyone who might be listening.
Starting point is 00:45:43 We met on Hinge. We met on a dating app called Hinge. So there is hope, people. Online dating can be very, very discouraging. It can be. And there is hope. And it sounds cheesy, but I think going into things with the right attitude and mentality and being honest about your expectations right off the bat.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Yeah. That's all the odds in your favor. That's an important part is like knowing what your intentions are and what your expectations are because that's a big thing. You know, you have expectations that aren't met. That's when you start to get, that's when people start to get upset about these things. But the, yeah, no. We would have got along for sure because how, I mean, we get along so well now.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Aside from the Hank Hill moments, we get along great. Oh, okay. Thanks, hon. You're the best. Just so much fun. She is the best. And thank you. Continue to send in the Ask RVV questions. I learn a lot during these moments.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So I appreciate you guys sending those in. All right. Amol Vasani. on Facebook says, I'd love to ask what your favorite entry ever in the Royal Rumble matches. Mine is Edge when he came in at number 21. I totally marked out for the first time as a wrestling fan. That's a really tough one to argue with because we all assumed that Edge's wrestling career was completely over.
Starting point is 00:47:17 And then this wasn't just him coming out of the Royal Rumble. This was the rebirth of his career. And it was such a cool moment. the look on his face absolutely said it all. Like the what the heck? Is this even real? Is this a dream? And that's kind of how he described it when I did that interview with him.
Starting point is 00:47:35 My favorite Royal Rumble entry is 2008. And John Cena coming out at Madison Square Garden. Similar to the edge situation, no one expected him to be there. He had just torn, it was his peck, right? he had just torn his peck and people thought that he was just completely like he we weren't we'd be lucky to see him at rustlemania and if you listen to the interview i did with sina he basically made it his job during the time that he got injured to the time he came back he made it his job to just rehab and get healthy and be ready to go as quickly and as safely as possible and he was doing
Starting point is 00:48:16 rehab i think it was three times a day every single day when most people are maybe doing it three times a week. He was just, he became just a rehab monster, like doing whatever he could to rehab it. So when, when the buzzer goes for number 30 and he comes out, it's genuine shock from the audience. And the look on Sena's face there tells a fascinating story. So the look on Edge's face when he came back in 2020 was like the, oh my gosh, is this real? wow, I can't believe this. The look on Sena's face is, yeah, yeah, I'm here. Uh-huh. I'm here. I'm healed up, and I'm 100% ready to go. And it was almost like pride on his face of like, you guys didn't think I could do it. And here I am. Let's go. And then Triple H has this look on his face. Like, what is like it's almost like you saw a ghost.
Starting point is 00:49:13 So that's my favorite moment. And then Sina went on to win that Royal Rumble, which I think was just the, the cherry on top. Jay Stevenson on the Spotify comments. Love seeing these. Ask CVV. You're getting ready to have a son. Are you going to give him a superhero name that he can use if he chooses to go into wrestling like maybe Vincent Van Fleet? He'd be Triple V. See what you're doing here, Jay. I, we're definitely going to give him a name that hopefully he'll, yeah. You know what? We've already got Logan. Van Vleet, I think that's a great name. Chris Van Vlead, growing up, I certainly did not think that was a good name, especially since my mom insisted that everybody called me Christopher. Christopher Van Vleet is a
Starting point is 00:50:02 giant mouthful of letters. It's so funny, my friends would call the house and be like, hey, is Chris there? And she'd be like, no, he's not, but Christopher is. And be like, oh, okay, is Christopher there? Until I was about it. 13, 14, I was Christopher. And that was my name was Christopher. My parents never called me, Chris. They still don't. So I had a, I had a tough time wrapping my head and tongue around Christopher Van Fleet when I would introduce myself to people. So I would hope that both of our kids and any other ones that we have. We'll have some badass, strong names. We've got some names in mind for baby boy Van Fleet. The due date is December 11th, so you'll have to wait until then. They'll have to
Starting point is 00:51:01 wait until he makes his official appearance, his debut into the world, if you will, to see what his name is, but you might be on to something here, Jay. Triple V. I don't know, Vincent Van Fleet. I don't know. Maybe no, no, I don't. We will take it into consideration. Dylan Postma. Hey, CVV, as a Canadian, this is also on Spotify comments, by the way. Hey, CVV, as a Canadian, I'm curious to know, do you have any Canadian terms that you still use and get called out on? I thought of this when you mentioned drinking soda in the last episode, and I'm sure you called it pop like the rest of us when you first moved to the U.S. other ones I can think of are Tuk saying A, Z versus Z, etc. Yeah, there's a list.
Starting point is 00:51:51 There is quite a few of them. I moved to America in February 28th, 2010. And I was already kind of working on it in like the year prior. I was kind of like being more aware of my Canadian accent and being more aware of some of the words that we said that were inherently Canadian. because I would have all these meetings with these U.S. television networks, and I didn't want them to have to go, oh, wow, he's great, but he kind of says those words funny.
Starting point is 00:52:25 Or he's great, but why does he keep calling it, why does he keep saying Z instead of Z or whatever it happens to be? I was trying to assimilate as much as I could to make the transition, if I was ever offered one of those jobs, to make the transition as seamless and flawless as possible. So I was starting to work on it like well in advance. There's still. Here's where I realize I have Americanized a lot of the words that I say.
Starting point is 00:52:56 It's when my parents come down to visit. And I will say things like, oh, I got to take out the trash. And my dad's like, you got to take out the trash. Don't you mean the garbage? You got to take out the garbage. Like that's a very little one. I think another one was like, oh, man. I think there's going to be a lot of traffic on the way to the airport.
Starting point is 00:53:15 We might have to take a different route to get there. A different route, my dad would say. A different route. Oh, sorry, dad, a different, different route. We got to reroute the route. We got to reroute the route. That's another one. So does, I mean, if you look at a map, there was actually a map, like, you know, like one of those color info maps, infographics,
Starting point is 00:53:41 of where they say soda in the U.S. versus where they say pop. I still call it pop. It's still, it's always going to be pop to me, but I have lived in a lot of soda states. So I call it soda, but I know deep down in my heart, it's pop. Z and Z still takes like, I still have to like really force that part of my brain when I'm, when I'm spelling it. Like my license plate has a Z in it, a Z in it. I have to force myself when I'm saying that to be like, it's Z Z, Z, Z, Z.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Like I'm like, oh, yeah, no, it's Z is the correct one there. That correct one, but the American word. Took's another one. Because a Took is a very specific thing. Tuck is like a winter beanie. That took a little bit of, that took a little bit of figuring out. Also, I think I grew up saying Chesterfield. I think I might have grown out of that one.
Starting point is 00:54:41 as I was just getting into my teenage years. But I think there was a point in time when I called a couch or a sofa, Chesterfield, only because I heard that from my parents growing up. There's going to be a few other ones that I'm sure I'll think of and I'll drop into here for you, Dylan, but those are the few.
Starting point is 00:54:59 And for anybody thinking, what are the Canadian accent words you're talking about? It's really like it's out about house, mouse, like those are the main ones. how so sorry the canadian way would be like out about sorry sorry sorry is a big one sorry about that since yeah i said a very canadian there sorry about that you're like what i didn't even hear a difference sorry about that sorry about that sorry about that i have gone off on quite the tangent here and that is the final question on ask CVV number 43 the richard petty troy palomalo
Starting point is 00:55:41 Dennis Eckersley and R.A. Dickie edition. What a fun one to hear. If you have a question for next week's Ask CVV number 44, leave a comment on Spotify, follow the show on Spotify, follow on Apple Podcasts, shoot me a message on
