How are you, my friends?
Welcome back to another one here on Insight.
I'm CVV, Chris Van Fleet.
How's your week been?
How's your summer bit?
Crazy, like blinking, that's it.
Summer's over.
August wraps up tomorrow Labor Day weekend here.
And I guess we're going out with a bang here.
Bash in Berlin.
That's a great card.
And we'll be certainly chatting about that one.
I mean, you saw the title of this episode.
You know, we'll be given our full predictions for
Bash in Berlin that's happening. I guess the, like, summer's my favorite season. I just,
I don't know, so many great things associated with summer. I played a lot of baseball growing up.
Of course, also played a lot of hockey growing up. When you grew up in Canada,
and I feel like you come out of the womb wearing skates. So like, yeah, played a lot of hockey in the
winter, played a lot of baseball in the summer. I'm just one of those people who I love going
outside and I just love being warm. I don't love layering up. I've never in,
enjoyed wearing a tuk.
That's what we call beanies in Canada.
I've never enjoyed wearing a tuk when, you know,
your hair gets all messed up.
It's cold.
I got frostbite when I was 17 years old walking to school.
I got frostbite on my ears.
But I digress.
Summer is coming to an end.
But I guess one of the good things about that is we've got the NFL season
about a week away.
And I'm so excited about that.
So excited about that.
It's tough sometimes to admit it because they are often not good, but I'm a Cleveland Browns fan.
Cleveland was the first American city that I moved to.
And I'd always liked watching football, but when I moved there, you just realize how much football is
integrated into their culture.
Like on a Sunday, it's not a question of, are you watching the game?
It's a question of, where are you watching the game?
Are you going to the game?
Are you going to the bar?
Are you going to someone's house?
like you are watching the Cleveland Browns play whenever they're playing.
And that was something I just loved about Cleveland.
And I instantly became a Browns fan.
And I'm a Browns fan for life.
And it's been tough.
There have been a lot of tough years in there.
And maybe this is the year.
We say that every year as Browns fans.
But maybe this is the year.
Man, could you imagine the Browns in a Super Bowl?
Maybe this is the year.
We should.
shall see. Welcome, my friends, to Ask CVV number 46, the Andy Pettit edition. Also, the Lee Smith
edition and 46, not that popular of a number when we're talking about football, but the Tim
McDonald edition as well. I mean, that's the number that like a fullback would wear. So let me know
what Ask CVV number 47 should be. Send it in the same way that you send in your questions for
Ask CVV. And if it's your first time here, it's simple. You send them in using the hashtag
Ask CVV on social media. You can leave a comment on Spotify, not just on this episode. You can leave
it on any of the episodes from this past week or any of the episodes that we have next week.
And I'm going to tell you at the end of this episode, two massive guests that we have on tap
for Tuesday and Thursday of next week. You can also email your questions in CVV at chrisfanfleet.com.
And that's where we get our first question.
This is from Roman Wagner, who emailed this one in.
Hey, Chris, thank you for your positive influence through your podcasts.
You always make me feel better after the episodes.
Big fan from Germany.
What are your predictions for Bash in Berlin?
And are you there?
I wish you only the best.
Well, thank you, Roman, for the very kind words there.
I am not in Germany right now.
I've been to every WWEPLA in North America.
So I have Royal Rumble in Tampa,
WrestleMania in Philadelphia,
Money in the Bank in Toronto,
Summer Slam in Cleveland.
I will be,
I just decided this the other day.
I will be at Bad Blood in Atlanta.
I will not be at Survivor Series in Vancouver,
even though I lived in Vancouver for a year.
I hosted a show there called 969.
I have,
that's where I did my very first wrestling interview
with Bobby Lashley.
I love Vancouver so much.
But Baby Boy will be,
the due dates December,
11th is less than two weeks from Survivor Series. I'm not flying to another country with my wife
being, what would that be, 38 weeks pregnant? That was a terrible idea. So that's not happening.
I will miss you guys in Vancouver for Survivor Series. I'm going to miss you guys for Bash in Berlin
as well. But what a card here. Let's go through this match by match. We'll also look at the odds that
We've got, you can bet on this at my bookie.orgie.org. Use the promo code, CVV, and you'll get a 50% welcome
bonus on your first deposit here. So let's start off with the unholy union taking on Bianca Bel Air
and Jade Cargill. Who do we like in this one? The favorites right now are Albaferrin,
Ila Don. I would agree with that. I think that that's where I would go on this one.
the Unholy Union winning that championship.
I just, I see bigger things for Bianca Bel Air and Jade Cargo.
I just see something bigger happening here,
but that one for me is a bit of a toss up.
I think the other matches on the card are pretty, like,
I don't know, when I look at the five matches on the card,
I feel like we can predict the other four fairly well.
This is the only one that for me is a bit of a toss up.
Go to the strap match here.
What a rivalry this has been.
The hottest rivalry in 2024 is over a bracelet.
I love it.
C.M.
Punk taking on Drew McIntyre, the odds say C.M. Punk.
And I'm, I know that I said that these were pretty obvious and I would agree.
C.M. Punk probably wins this one.
And that's because Drew McIntyre won at SummerSlam.
So this would make that one in one right now.
I see C.M. Punk winning this one.
I just see bigger things for what Drew McIntyre has.
I mean, an amazing WrestleMania moment that he had this year.
And it lasted like five minutes before Damien Priest comes down and cashes on on him.
I feel like there's some bigger things happening for Drew McIntyre.
I also don't know if Drew McIntyre needs this win.
Like I think that with all of the trolling that Drew McIntyre has done,
both in the ring on the mic and also in social media,
I feel like CM Punk needs to kind of get his.
So I take CM Punk in that one.
Then we move on to the Terror Twins.
That's the new name for Damien Priest and Ria Ripley,
taking on the Judgment Day, which is Dirty Dom and Liv Morgan.
Mixed tag team match here.
The odds have this, Damian Priest and Ria Ripley winning this one.
And I would agree on that one.
I think that Ria Ripley's going to get the pin on Liv Morgan, which ends up setting something up for the championship in a month or two or something like that.
That's how I see this one.
This is not so much of a Damian Priest versus Dom story here.
This is much more of a Ria Ripley being mad at Dom.
Actually, Rio Ria Rippley's, I had changed my mind here.
Ria Rillipley's getting the pin on Dom.
That is totally what's going to happen.
And maybe she gets that pin.
You know that pin.
You know that Ria Ripley pin.
maybe that's what we see at the end of this match.
But there is no upside here for Dom and Liv to win this match.
And I think that there's a lot more for Ria Ripley to get that pin
and to move forward with that storyline on Liv Morgan.
You could really make a case here for Ria pinning Liv.
Oh my gosh, she pinned the champion.
Or Ria pinning Dom.
Oh, man, she got hers.
She got that revenge on Dom, the guy who broke.
broke her heart. So one, either of those really could make a lot of sense here, but certainly I
expect a moment where Ria and Dom share some sort of a moment in the ring and Dom just gets his
ass absolutely beat by Rhea. That's what I would see here. Gunther versus Randy Orton for the
World Heavyweight Championship. If Orton wins the championship, he will be trained.
transfer to Raw and Gunther will be transferred to Smackdown.
That's kind of a little caveat there.
Gunther, massive favorite here, minus 5,000.
And I think that Gunther hangs on to this for a little while longer.
This isn't the championship that I think Randy Orton is after.
I think we're going to find ourselves with a Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes match before too long.
Maybe it's Survivor Series.
I've been hinting at that the last few weeks.
I've been touching on that the last few weeks.
Maybe it's Royal Rumble.
I don't know, but I think that the person that Cody Rhodes loses the championship to
is going to be Randy Orton, which brings us to the main event here.
Cody Rhodes taking on Kevin Owens for the undisputed WWE championship.
It's funny.
I put a poll out on YouTube, like on the community wall of YouTube,
and I said, who's going to be the person who beats Cody Rhodes for the championship?
and I put Kevin Rhodes,
Kevin Rhodes,
what the heck,
I put Kevin Owens in the poll
because I'm like,
well,
he's the next person
who has a chance.
Like,
he's the next person
that has a shot here.
And he got like
the tiniest percentage.
Like everybody else
that was in the poll,
they had a decent amount
of votes.
They only give you five options.
So we had Randy Orton,
24% of the vote.
Roman Raines,
19% of the vote.
John Cena,
11% of the vote.
Kevin Owens,
3%.
And then someone else was the winner here,
43% of the vote.
But just interesting.
Interesting that Kevin Owens only got 3%.
Really, very few people believe
that he's going to win here.
And I think that we're all kind of on board
that Cody will lose the championship one day,
but it will not be a bash in Berlin.
Cody walks out of there as the
W.W.E.
Undisputed champion.
I think it begs the question, who does he lose it to?
Like I mentioned, I think it's Randy Orton.
Now it's just a matter of time.
It's just a matter of time.
Alexander the greatest 88 on Instagram.
What do you think of the Vince McMahon docu series that Netflix just announced?
So Netflix just announced that this is going to be a docu series on September 25th.
And I'm going to read you, to be clear here, they are covering the allegations against Vince.
This is a direct quote from Netflix about,
what this is. It's called Mr. McMahon. So Mr. McMahon is a documentary series chronicling the rise
and fall of WWE's controversial founder. It's coming to Netflix on September 25th from Chris Smith,
executive producer of Tiger King and Bill Simmons, including interviews with McMahon prior to his
resignation, his family, and some of the most iconic names in wrestling history, as well as the
journalist who uncovered McMahon's allegations. I am very interested in how the
this story is going to be told. Because there is so much to cover with Vince's career,
like so much to cover from when he bought WWF from his father, what he turned it into now,
everything that happened in the golden era and everything that happened with the steroid trial
into the attitude era, the Mr. McMahon character that he created there after the Bret Hart screw job,
taking out WCW, going from WWF to WWE. I'm just,
doing this off the top of my head here. So many other things in the creation of sports entertainment
and the just bringing wrestling to where it is right now. And then you've got everything that's
happened in the last year or so. And I'm really curious how this is all going to play out.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. And the focus of this docus series shifted quite a
bit. Like, this was originally just going to be a docu series about who is Vince McMahon. I've always
referred to him as like the Wizard of Oz, like the man behind the curtain, quite literally,
like the man behind the curtain in the gorilla position. People I think, think they know who Vince is
and think they know things about him. And I feel like we barely know anything about the actual
man that is Vince McMahon. And what makes him tick? And I think that that's what the original idea
of this docu series was going to be.
And then the focus changed and shifted quite a bit when those allegations came out,
and the lawsuit against Mississippi Man came out on January 25th of this year.
So very interesting that this is airing on Netflix.
And Netflix is going to be the home of Rob beginning in January.
So I'm just really curious to see how they approach this.
because how can you paint the man who created the WWE in a terrible light,
and then three months later, three and a half months later, go,
hey, now you should watch his creation every Monday, live on Raw,
live on Netflix.
So it's going to be really interesting.
Can they be completely unbiased with this?
I will be waiting until September 25th to find out exactly.
how this story is told. We're going to learn a lot about Vince McMahon. I think the first bunch of
episodes are going to be about like just the creation of the World Wrestling Federation and how
that all came together. And then it's going to take a dark turn. And it'll be really interesting
to see how this all plays out. But I know exactly where I'm going to be on September 25th.
I'll be watching this to see exactly how this story is told. And I think it's also important to point out
the story's not over. So do they have a follow-up docu-series? Like after the court case ends up
happening, after the lawsuit plays out, like, will we get a follow-up of what exactly ends up
happening there? Because this is still very much in the court system. So that will also be an
interesting component to be kind of thinking about when you're watching this. Pablo on Spotify
left this one that said, where do we have to sign up to make a lot?
the Ask CVV episodes at least two hours.
These past couple episodes have been amazing.
Keep up the great work.
Two hours?
You guys want to hear me just rambling on for two hours?
I don't.
I don't know.
I think that we kind of have the sweet spot here at like the hour-ish mark.
Never say never, right?
Never say never.
Maybe these will end up evolving into 90 minutes or maybe even two hours.
I don't know if I can, maybe if my wife co-hosts, if Rachel is in here for half that
time bouncing ideas off of one another. Maybe. I like the hour, though. We just had our longest
ever podcast episode, like it was an interview, the longest ever with Scott DeMore. Like,
when I hit stop, I was like, oh my gosh, we talked for two hours and 13 minutes. And then you've got
the intro and the wrap up on that one. So like the whole episode was, what, 2.20, something like
that. That was the longest one. And I think that as we continue to go here,
we're definitely going to get into the realm of some of these interviews being closer to two hours.
I just didn't want that interview with Scott to stop.
I also wanted the Jesse Ventura one to keep going.
And we got the wrap up at like the hour-ish mark.
And I think we talked for another 20 minutes because Jesse just tells such great stories.
But that was another one where we could have just kept going.
And the reason it did wrap up is because he had a meeting with Triple H as soon as our interview was done.
I mentioned this during the Jesse Venture episode during the intro to that, but if you didn't listen to that, you might have noticed that when he made his appearance on Raw, he was shaking Triple H's hand backstage.
He was wearing the exact same clothes that he was wearing during our interview.
And that's because he went from the location where we recorded that interview right to the arena in downtown St. Paul, where he filmed that stuff at Triple H and had a genuine meeting with him as well.
It wasn't just like, hey, show up and shake Triple H's hand on camera.
Like they had a genuine meeting there.
And then you saw him in a photo op or a meeting there with CM Punk.
So like, that was right after our interview.
So that interview would have gone on quite a bit longer if he didn't have that meeting set up
afterwards.
But I think the Ask CVV episodes, Pablo, probably going to be an hour-ish.
I hope that's okay.
And I hope that if your commute is two hours, that you can listen to,
listen to this Ask CVV and then dive into the archives. Go back like a year or two and listen to one
of the interviews from then. Don't go too far back. I mean, you can. You can go back to the summer
of 2019 when the podcast started. Some of those interviews are just okay. And that's on me. I had
great guests. But some of those interviews are, they're ones that I think we, you know, five years later
now. I know I could improve on quite a bit. And I think.
think that with anything in life, if you're not looking back on your older stuff, your older work,
and kind of cringing a little bit and going, oh, I could have done that better, then I don't
think you're heading in the right direction then. Dave, Davy, is this Davies? Davies L-S-Davis-L-F-C?
Or is it Davy S-L-L-F-C? This is on Instagram. Did you manage to watch any of A-E-W-All-in?
If so, what were your highlights?
did watch it. And I called it. I mean, I think we all called it that that match between Swerve Strickland
and Daniel Bryan, Brian Danielson was going to be an absolute banger. And that's what we got.
What a match. And I think we knew that Daniel Bryan still had some left in the tag. And him winning
the AEW championship solidified that. We've got at least another year of banger matches like that one.
What a freaking match that was.
I loved it.
I also, I just loved the way that Will Osprey wrestles.
And I think that because MJF is so good on the mic, his in-ring ability is very underrated.
And he proved in that match that he can hang with the best of them.
And that was such a good match as well.
And what does Will Osprey do now?
What does Will Osprey do now with that international championship?
Where do we go from here?
Also, really cool moments seeing Nigel McGinnis.
make his return to wrestling.
I feel like it all makes sense now.
If you listen to the episode that we had
when he was in the studio with us
a little over a month ago,
he was saying that he gets in the ring every week.
And I'm like, well, excuse me?
Are we preparing for a return here?
And the answer was evidently yes.
And he looked amazing.
What shape he was in.
He looked great.
Also really cool to see Sting coming back.
And he's retired.
That's it.
He's done, but cool to see him just coming back and having that big moment in front of the massive
crowd there at Wembley Stadium.
AEW did it.
That was a great show, top to bottom, great show including the pre-show matches as well.
Really great stuff.
I'm excited to see what All In looks like when it comes to America next year, Arlington, Texas.
You know, Wimbley was the place, right?
Wembley was the home of All In for a few years.
And now they're taken to the U.S., so I'm curious if it will still have the same,
like it just, it always felt so big.
Like it felt so big being in Wembley.
And I know it will likely also feel big in Arlington,
but there was just like almost like pomp in circumstance, like attached to that with just the
history of that building and SummerSlam being there and everything along with
But I thoroughly enjoyed all in.
If you haven't checked it out yet,
I would definitely encourage you to go check out the entire show
or just some of the matches that I talked about there.
Really great stuff.

James Aguato emailed this one and said,
Hello, Chris, Sergeant Aguado from Miami, Florida.
For the Lee Smith slash Andy Pettit,
number 46 edition of Asked, you nailed it, man.
With the recent passing of Sid Vicious,
which legends do you wish that you had the chance to interview
that you haven't had the opportunity to?
By the way, because of you,
I've looked at life so differently.
I've been grateful ever since listening to your podcast,
and it has changed my outlook
on life. Well, that's amazing. James, thank you for saying that. And isn't it so interesting how when you
start to approach things with gratitude, when you start to be thankful for the things that you have,
rather than being upset or angry for the things you don't have, how easy it is to change your
mindset and change your whole situation. When you trade your expectations for appreciation,
it's really difficult to be upset
because it's easy to be upset
when you have expectations
and they're not met,
oh man, I really wanted this to go like this
or I wanted him to say this or her to say this.
But when you're just appreciative of like,
look at this moment that I'm able to share here
and you are grateful for the things that you have,
that's amazing how much things can shift with that.
The list of legends that I would absolutely love to sit down with
Sting's at the top of that list.
Sting's at the top of just the list in general.
Sting is the number one person
that I would love the opportunity
to share a long form conversation with
on the podcast here.
So Sting for sure.
Sean Michaels is also up there.
And I think,
I don't want to jinx this here.
But I'll just say
that if you're not following the show,
you should probably click that follow button.
because an interview with Sean Michaels could maybe possibly be happening at some point in time.
Those are the two, like, real big ones for me.
And then when you look at the list of people who, unfortunately, we don't have the chance to speak with anymore,
Eddie Guerrero is at the top of that list.
I get asked that question a lot.
If there was someone who passed away that you wish you could have interviewed,
Eddie Guerrero is at the very top of that list.
I wish I could have had the chance to talk to him.
Also, Mr. Perfect.
How perfect would that conversation be if I could have the chance to share some words with him?
And Brett Hart also on the list of legends of people who maybe, you know, that seems like it
might be possible.
I see him quite a bit at a lot of these different conventions or signings.
Our paths have crossed.
I've never had the chance to meet him, but our paths have crossed.
seen him. We've been in the same room. He's obviously had a massive line and I've just been
kind of in the area like, hey, there's Brett Hart. Best there is, best there was, best there
will be right there. Amazing. Fellow Canadian. So cool. So there's a quick little list there. And I think
that some of those, some of those might be possible. We'll see. Joe Roe on Spotify says,
Hey, CVV. Love the show and as a relatively new wrestling fan, it's been a great way to find some new to me
wrestlers to go check out and to gain some new insights into my favorite superstars.
My question for CVV, do you think the WWE speed title should be shown on TV?
I feel like it would add some prestige both to that title as well as to the speed champion.
Not that Andrade needs it.
Dude is a beast.
Thank you for everything and my best to you and yours.
Before I answer your question here, Joe, it is so cool that we are now in an era where we're,
like a lot of us, right, I've been wrestling fans.
for a long time. It is so cool, though, when you hear people who are like, I'm a new fan to wrestling.
That didn't happen for so long. And also, we're also hearing a lot of, man, I haven't watched since
whenever. Name the year. I haven't watched since 2015. I've watched since 2004, whatever it happens to be.
The fact that we are getting both new fans and lapsed fans to come back to wrestling really shows you
where pro wrestling is right now. Because again, there was a long stretch of time when you didn't meet
new wrestling fans. You were meeting fans who had been watching just as long as you, just as
hardcore as you were, but the fact that we have new wrestling fans, amazing. So Joe, welcome to this
crazy thing that is pro wrestling. It's amazing. I do think that the speed title should be shown
or defended on television. I understand why it's not.
this is a partnership with X slash Twitter.
It's still so hard for me to call it X.
There's a partnership that is directly with them.
This is a show that lives on Twitter.
That is the agreement that they have.
So the championship showing up on Raw or SmackDown,
I think that that would obviously benefit the Speed Championship,
but that's not part of the agreement here.
The agreement is that they would have these three-minute matches or less.
actually really cool when I was at the last live raw that I went to, which was the Jesse Ventura
Day in St. Paul, Minnesota. It was cool. It was cool to right before, like they tape it kind of like
a dark match. They come out and there's a clock on the Titan Tron and boom, match starts. They
count it down. And the match is super high energy, super fast pace. I love it. That's my style of wrestling.
I was a really big fan of the fast-paced matches that we would see in the cruiserweight division in WCW,
guys like Kid Cash when he was doing his thing in ECW in the matches that he would have there.
I just loved that fast style of match.
So yes, it would be so cool to see this on TV.
That's just not the agreement that they have here.
And I understand that.
So those matches will live on X.
It was difficult for me to call it X there.
They will live on Twitter.
Can I just call it Twitter?
Twitter. Is it okay for me to call it Twitter? But I agree with you that I think that if you were to
go to a raw or a Smackdown and you were to pull someone aside who's wearing a John Cena shirt
or a Yeat shirt, like they're a hardcore fan and you were to say, hey, who is the current
speed champion and who did they win it off of? They likely wouldn't be able to answer one or both
of those questions. So yes, it would bring a lot of prestige to that title. And I've been
saying this for a while. We need another women's championship that is not a world championship.
Like, if you're a female wrestler, it's you win a tag team championship. So that means you have to be
in a tag team. Or you're wrestling for the WWE Women's Championship or the Women's World
Heavyweight Championship. That's it. I think we've got to have a women's intercontinental
championship. And I don't know anything about this. I am not on the, I'm not in the no here.
but I would have to think that with all of the eyeballs that are going to be on Netflix
and just the momentum that WWE is riding into the end of 2024 and then into 2025,
that mid-card women's championship has got to be coming.
I don't know if we call it the women's intercontinental championship,
or we call it the women's U.S. championship,
or we just create a whole new championship there, but there's got to be one.
And like I've been saying, there's got to be another one for the men, too.
It just feels like give us a cruiserweight championship or the European championship.
Or, man, I know that we didn't love the design of the 24-7 championship,
but those were really fun matches or fun moments.
I just think there needs to be another one.
Who knows if that will actually happen, but it feels like there's a white space for that
to happen. Robbie on Spotify says, hey, CVV, who's the best wrestler who doesn't need a championship?
I personally think Drew is doing a great job and doesn't need a belt. Thank you for all of the
content. Well, thank you, Robbie. And I agree with you. Kind of like what I was saying here,
Drew doesn't need this win. Drew has like, Drew has the backing of the crowd here. Drew has been doing
the best work of his career, bar none. And if you follow me on social media, you know that,
an interview with Drew McIntyre is coming up soon.
I just sat down with him on Tuesday of this week.
He plays a really fun role in the new action movie The Killers game,
starring Dave Batista.
This is Drew McIntyre's film debut.
He crushes it.
And Dave is amazing in this.
What a fun movie.
When that comes out on September 13th,
you're definitely going to want to go see that.
And I was talking to Drew and I was saying,
like, is this the best work you've done?
of your career. He's like, I'm having the most fun. That's for sure. And I agree with you,
Robbie, that I don't think he needs a championship. I also don't think that CM Punk needs a championship.
They have been chanting CM Punk's name for the last 10 years. They were chanting his name in
AEW. They were chanting his name in WW. They will chant his name when he's there and he's in the
arena. They will chant his name when he's not there. And there's a hope that he might be
there. CM Punk is over, over. So I don't think that CM Punk needs another championship either.
I'm not saying it's not going to happen. In fact, I put out another poll. This one I put out on
Twitter and also on YouTube as well. And I said, who is the next person to win a championship?
And I only gave you four options because I think that these are probably the four best options here,
CM Punk, Roman Raines, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins. Like when you really think,
about it. John's seen him, I think, could maybe be a wild card in there. But CM Punk was the one who
won that poll, like pretty handily. He's 43% of the votes. The next up was Randy Orton of 35%. Roman
Raines is 16%. Seth Rollins, 7%. I mean, there's another person. Seth Rollins, he goes in there,
no matter who his opponent is, no matter what's at stake, he's going to put on an incredible match.
So I think Seth Rawlins is another person I would put in there. He doesn't need. He doesn't need.
need a championship. If he has one, great. You know he's going to tear it down if he does. But if he
doesn't have one, he's still going to tear it down. And that's the cool thing about those three people
that we just named. Those three guys, Drew, C.M. Punk and Seth Rollins is there's no off days for
those guys. And what I mean by that is they don't go into a match going, eh, it's just on Raw. It's just
on Smackdown. It's just a four-way. It's just a six-man match. Like those are the people.
who give it their all every single time.
So I don't think that they need championships.
Seth obviously had a great run with the World Heavyweight Championship,
but those are people who don't need championships.
And I wouldn't be surprised if they're not in the title picture for a little while,
simply because of the fact that they're already over and they're already having great matches.
Can underscore Kai.
So K-A-N-N-N- underscore K-I on.
Instagram. Have you been rejected by someone that you wanted to have an interview with? Oh, yeah.
Like all the time. Yes. Absolutely. Yes. This happens frequently. There are a lot of people who I will
reach out to. Either it's a DM or it's an email or it's an email to their manager or agent. And,
I mean, a lot of times it's no response. And then a lot of times it's like, no thank you. Like,
they're not interested.
And then I'll see them doing an interview somewhere else.
And it's like, hmm, okay.
And I try to do whatever I can to make myself like the most available that I can
possibly be.
Yeah, I'll fly to you.
I'll fly wherever you are.
I'll fly to whatever show that you're booked on.
You know, within reason.
Actually, that's not true.
There's no reason here.
I'll fly to London to do an interview.
I'll fly to Paris to do an interview.
I'll fly to Australia.
to do an interview if someone's there.
Like, yeah, there's really,
I said within reason,
but there's really no reason here.
If the person will say yes,
I will find a way to plane,
trains or automobiles,
I will get there one way or another to make it happen.
And sometimes that's just met with,
yeah, it's just not the right time
to do an interview.
Like, check back with us in a few months
when they have another project
that they're working on.
Like you guys probably saw on social media.
I shared some clips from a,
brief interview that I did with Dave Batista for The Killers game.
I've been talking to his publicists since the start of the year about doing a long
form actual episode with Dave Batista.
And I kept getting the like, check back with me in a month.
I would check back at a month.
And then I would get the response of, check back with me in June.
All right.
Mark it on my calendar.
Follow back up in June.
Check back with me in two weeks.
All right.
Follow up in two weeks.
check back with me in a month.
There would be a lot of that.
So at least it wasn't a no.
It would just be like, check back with me.
So I'll tell you the whole story here right now.
And I'm sure I'll tell it again when the episode comes out.
But we got Dave Batista for a full interview on the show.
So yes, I did an interview with him for The Killers game.
He was paired with his co-star in the movie, Sophia Boutella.
and that was a five-minute interview.
We talked about the movie.
We also talked about some other things.
It was fun.
It was great, but it was quick.
Five minutes.
And then later that day,
I got an email from Dave's publicist
that said,
are you available tomorrow at 1215?
Dave's got some time.
And I said, absolutely.
I will see you then.
So it was the constant,
it was the constant following up.
When can we do this?
one can we make this happen.
I'll fly to Tampa where he lives.
I'll fly to New York when he's premiering My Spy 2.
Just let me know, you know, when the Killers game has its L.A. premiere,
its world premiere on, I think it's September 9th.
I'll be there, like whatever.
So we made it happen, guys.
And it's a great conversation.
So keep an eye out for that one.
I'll give you the date on that one, actually.
And we'll give you the date on that one.
That one with Dave goes live on September.
10th. And you will not want to miss that. But yes, I get all the time, all the time.
These are not slam dunks by any means at all, by any stretch of the imagination at all.
I get a lot of noes or I get a lot of no responses, but that's okay. We just keep moving forward
and celebrate the yeses that we do get. Oh, it is my favorite part of the show, my lovely, beautiful,
Loewing wife, Rachel, who you guys know best as RVV is here for a little Ask RVV. Spencer Forgs sent this in on
Spotify. He says, hashtag Ask CVV. Hashtag Ask RVV. You have your own hashtag now, honey. Amazing.
Honored. My brother, Jordan, and I are huge fans of your podcast. He's getting married next week
and stressing out. What are some tips from both of you to relax and not stress for the day of?
Well, first of all, congratulations to your brother, Jordan.
I don't know.
Are we the best people to ask for advice on getting married?
We might not be the best people because we pretty much elope.
So when it comes to wedding preparation, that's not really our forte.
But I think we could still provide some, hopefully some helpful advice.
I heard some great advice when my friend Kevin was getting married and an actor gave him some great advice to just enjoy the meal.
There's so many things going on that.
day and you're being pulled in a thousand different directions. And the idea was just enjoy the meal.
It's your first meal, your first dinner with your wife, like enjoy that moment. And I think the other
little part of that, at least for me, and again, we got married at a courthouse and it was the most
beautiful, amazing day ever. It was exactly how we wanted it. I think the other piece of advice is
you think the details all matter.
And they, like someone a year from now,
if you ask them what kind of food was served at your wedding,
they won't remember.
But you'll spend so much time stressing out about that
and thinking about that and what flavor the cake is.
All people are there for is to celebrate you on your big day.
And I think that that needs to remain the focus that this is your day.
Jordan, this is your day, buddy.
This is for you guys.
Yeah, to piggyback off that, it's really focusing on what you two want out of your wedding, your brother and your future sister-in-law, I should say, and realizing that it's not a day for everybody else. They are there to celebrate you too and trying to please everybody's never going to happen. So you really just have to focus on enjoying yourselves. This is your wedding day. This is your moment. And you want to walk away with some really good memories from it. And I think because it's your brother,
too, just be as supportive as you can for him in any way he needs you to be. That might help
him take, or take some stress off his plate, but ask if there's anything you could help with,
maybe. Yeah, that's good. Yeah. I mean, you're already there for him, but day of, you know,
there's going to be a thousand thoughts going through his mind. Just be like, hey, man, can I get you
anything? Anything I can do for you? I'm going to grab you a beer, a shot. Water. Make sure he
hydrates the day. Yeah, why? Yeah. But yeah, I think that the fact that,
that you're already thinking about this, Spencer, means we're on the right track here. So,
congratulations to Jordan and the future Mrs. Forgs, I guess. Yes. And again, we had, we thought about
having a wedding. And then we were like, you know what, for all of the reasons that we just listed
off here, let's just do it. Let's just, let's just pick a day and go. And it was, it was our
our own beautiful little celebration.
And we had pizza and beer afterwards to celebrate.
I did not have the beer because I was currently pregnant with our daughter,
but we had a lovely pizza with two of our best friends.
And it was great.
It was something we had been thinking about for a while where it was like,
all right, we could throw this great party and then invite hundreds of people
and spend far too much money on that.
Or it can just be about what our wedding would be about,
which is just me.
And you. And so it was. And I'm looking at our photo of us eating that pizza right there in the
middle hanging on my office wall. What a day. What a day. It was great. Okay, you're the best.
Thank you. Thank you for joining us. If you have a question for RVV, throw it in the Spotify comments
there or use your new hashtag, ask RVV. Congrats, Jordan and Spencer. Yes, congrats.
Okay, Amy underscore Heinzmann underscore on Instagram says,
when is the Damian Priest interview coming out Tuesday?
There you go.
It's coming out on Tuesday.
I think I need to stop taking the photos and posting them as soon as we record these
interviews because then between the time the photo is posted,
until the interview goes live, it's just people asking when's the interview to come out.
which is a great problem to have.
I love that you guys are as excited about these interviews as I am.
So we did the interview with Damien Priest a while back.
Well, wild back.
We did it about a month ago at SummerSlam.
There's just been a lot of other interviews that we've had in line.
We have, I think as I sit here right now, I think we have nine that are recorded and ready to go.
You know a few of them.
I've mentioned a few of them already, Drew McIntyre.
Damien Priest have also mentioned date.
Batista, we've got some big ones. I've also got some kind of in the pipeline that are confirmed
but not recorded yet. So I never like to put those ones out there. I never like to say,
oh, yeah, we've got an interview with so-and-so, and then flights get canceled or they get sick
or something happens and then it just never ends up happening. And then when people are like,
so when's the interview with so-and-so coming out? And you're like, well, here's the thing. It's not.
So I'm happy that that is not the case here.
Damian Priest on Tuesday.
Drew McIntyre on Thursday.
Ask CVV number 47 next Friday.
And then Dave Batista on Tuesday, September 10th.
What a lineup.
Oh, my goodness.
Once again, Damian Priest, Tuesday, September 3rd.
Drew McIntyre, Thursday, September 3rd.
Drew McIntyre, Thursday, September 10th.
September 5th. Ask CDV 47 Friday, September 6th, Big Dave Batista, Tuesday, September 10th.
I can't believe there's still people that are listening to this and have not hit that follow
button yet on the show. Crazy. Alex Malewski on Spotify says, when you were working at PJ's
Pet Center, were you there when they had the small shark tank? My grandma used to take me and my sister
there every day in the late 90s and early 2000s. That is insane. Yes, I worked at PJ's Pet
Center in the Pickering Town Center and I worked in the Fish Department. I was there 99 to, oh,
I guess throughout, I worked there a little bit throughout college too, but I started there when
I was 16. So I worked there in 1999 until I think it was like 2002. The
Then I came back and started working there again in 2005 and then into 2006.
And yes, I was there when the shark tank was there, but it was not a shark when I was there.
I remember exactly we were talking about.
There was a like maybe three foot shark.
And the shark tank was pretty big.
Like a thousand gallon tank.
When I worked there, we had a big catfish in that.
And there was also a long stretch of time that I worked there and there was no fish at all.
It was just like empty.
But I remember the shark.
I was not there.
When the shark was there,
it was no longer a saltwater aquarium.
They'd shifted it over to a freshwater aquarium.
So no shark.
But I will tell you this,
it had been a relatively recent switch over.
It was like maybe within the previous year or two.
And not a shift went by that I worked when someone didn't come in going,
hey, where's the shark?
and some of my colleagues would have fun with those people.
Like I remember one of my colleagues, Tony,
he'd be like, oh, it's right there.
You don't see it?
And they'd be like, what do you mean?
He's like, it's right there.
You don't see the shark?
And this, by the way, is when the shark tank was empty.
And he would just screw with them.
They would just mess with them.
And they'd be like, wait, what do you mean?
What do you mean?
Do I see it?
So, excellent question.
Alex, thank you for the nostalgia.
you. Thank you for bringing it back for me.
Brandon McCabe on Spotify says, hey, Chris,
sorry I didn't get to see you at the West 6th Street
tailgate party for SummerSlam, but I had to make sure that I had to check
into my hotel this summer because the next day we were
heading down to Nashville for our honeymoon. Well, hey,
congratulations. Anyway, here's my question for you.
What is your favorite DVD or VHS of WWE that you had growing up?
Mine was the Undertaker DVD set,
and I would always show my friends the first blood match with Mr. Kennedy
or him versus the Dudley boys to save Paul.
What was yours?
Ooh, man, that was a good one.
The Undertaker's DVD set was very good.
Mine was the Kurt Angle VHS.
The It's True, It's True, Kurt Angle VHS.
I was a really big Kurt Angle fan.
I mean, it's hard not to be a fan of the way that he worked in the ring.
But I also love that character of like,
I've always liked heels that you dislike them because they're telling them.
telling you how great they are. And it's hard to deny. Like, Kurt Angles gimmick when he first came
in to the WWE, fresh off of winning the Olympic gold medal in Atlanta, he was basically saying,
like, I'm, I was kind of the version of like, I'm so intensity, integrity, and intelligence,
the three eyes, like he was such an American hero that you hated him for it because he was
rubbing it in it's in your face, how good of a person he was, how great of an athlete he was,
kissing the gold medals. It's something about that that I love. So Kurt Angle, it's true,
it's true. That's the one for me. Frank, the MF Tank, also on Spotify. I've got a handful of
Spotify questions here. Would you rather, would you rather know that no matter what you would
live for another 30 years and get $100 million or take the chance of living longer for $50 million.
Love the pod and best of luck to you and your wife with the birth of your next child.
Well, Frank, we're talking about absorbent amounts of money here.
I think that once you have $50 million, you're really going to be trying to answer questions
and figure stuff out for another $50 million?
you've already got $50 million.
Like, let's not pretend like $50 million isn't an absolute fuck ton of money.
So I think I'll take the $50 million with the hope and wish and chance of living longer.
I don't know if that's a year longer.
I don't know if it's a day longer, but 30 years and I know that just like on the, like at the end of the 30 years,
boom, that's it.
I die.
Yeah.
I think I'll take that chance to live.
30 years plus a day or 30 years plus a year. Maybe it's another 50 years. I don't know. But if you're
giving me 50 million dollars guaranteed, I think I'm going to be relatively smart with maybe half of it.
You invest $25 million over the course of 30 years. I mean, if you do one of those interest
calculators and you were to take just half of it. So you go just live an amazing life with the $25 million
over the course of 30 years, that's pretty good, right?
Close to a million dollars a year.
And then you take the other 25 and just sock it away and you don't touch it till the end of those 30 years.
At an 8% interest rate, your $25 million at the end of those 30 years is $251,56,422.
So I think I'd be okay.
Even if you only invested half of that, I think I'd be okay with that.
I love the would you rather questions.
They're always, they're always so much fun.
Frank, the MF tank, what would you do?
Would you take the 100 million and that's it, 30 years, boom, you're done?
Or do you take the 50 million at the chance of living longer?
Yeah, I'd be curious to hear what you'd say.
Let me know in the Spotify comments.
Are you taking the 50 million with the chance to live longer than 30 years?
you taking the $100 million and boom, that's it, 30 years, no matter what happens, it's over for you.
Terry Johnson on Facebook says, have you ever thought about writing a book? I've thought about it.
And I feel like through all of the interviews that I've been able to do for the show,
it is an embarrassment of riches of all of the knowledge and insight, pun intended, that I've been
able to get from these guests. So I've thought about it.
writing a book that's kind of a compilation of all of the best knowledge, best wisdom,
maybe fun anecdotes or stories from, let's call it the top 50 interviews,
the top 100 interviews that I've been so fortunate to be able to do.
And compiling that together in a book that's, I don't know,
the wisdom of wrestling or whatever it happens to be.
Like, think about it.
I know that there's a chance.
You've maybe listened to some of these other interviews,
but there's a good chance that maybe you haven't listened to all of them.
Well, what if we could break down a few key pieces of life advice from people like
Mara Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, The Undertaker, John Sina, Adam Copeland, Becky Lynch, Rick Flair.
The list goes on and on and on.
And you break it up into a super easy to read book where it's just chunks of information.
Like maybe each guest gets two to four pages.
You could read those two to four pages in a few minutes.
Like maybe you just want to get a little bit of knowledge from Booker T.
So you go, you flip over to, where's Booker T in the table of contents?
Okay, he's on page 117.
All right.
Let's learn about what kind of knowledge can I get from Booker T.
So I've thought about that.
I don't know how I haven't really taken any steps in that process yet.
But I will say that Tim Ferriss did a similar thing.
If you're familiar with Tim Ferriss and his podcast, he did something called Tools of Titans.
And he took, I think it was 100, I think it was his first 100 guests.
Actually, he interviewed Triple H in there.
So if you get Tools of Titans, he breaks down some of the best practices from Triple H.
And like, it's the way that Triple H thinks and a lot of really good stuff there.
But he did this with his book.
And I love that book.
it's kind of a summary of these great interviews and these great conversations that he's had.
And if you think about it, if each interview that I do is about an hour, give or take,
and we break down 100 interviews, for example, that's 100 hours of podcast listening,
which if you have done that, I am so grateful to you for that.
but instead you could pick up a book and you could just flip to that page you can get chunk of knowledge
from that person, chunk of information from that person in just a few minutes.
And then in addition, if you want to listen to the episode, you can absolutely do that.
But that's just something I've been thinking about.
And if you think that's a good idea, let me know.
If you would buy that kind of book, if and when it would ever come out, let me know.
because it's certainly something that's rattling around in my brain a little bit.
Freddie Bob Jr. on Spotify says,
as a wrestling fan for over 30 years,
I get fed up with the,
you know it's fixed,
right?
And I know that that's a very kind way of you saying,
you really hearing,
you know it's fake, right?
So what's the one match that you tell people to watch
and then go,
hey, now tell me it's fake?
I can't decide if that's between hell and a cell
or the Draganoff versus Walter match
at the Performance Center.
I love the pod. Chris, keep the good work coming. It used to always be mankind getting thrown off
hell in a cell. I remember downloading that clip in like a computer class in high school and showing
that to somebody that was giving me the old. Do you know wrestling's fake, right? That was always it.
And then I think you would have people that would be like, well, yeah, but like he looks like a stunt man
being thrown off of that thing. And I go, okay, cool. I often like to show people.
like a Gunther chop, or sometimes I'll just show them like me. I have flatbacks, getting
chopped by Sean Spears and Tyler Breeze. And it takes a while, right? Like, when you're explaining
wrestling to the uninitiated and someone who's never seen a full match, there's so much nuance that
goes on that you can't just put on a match and go, here, watch. I think that there's some things you can put
I don't imagine, like, explain as it's going on.
Okay, he's doing this thing because he's a baby face and he's a good guy.
That's the term that we have for a good guy, baby face, or he's a heel.
That's what we call a bad guy.
And, like, you can explain the different nuances and the language of it.
But I think if you're just showing someone a clip, it's usually someone getting chopped or I'll
show someone like some insane athletic feet.
like I'll show them a Jeff Hardy spot or a ricochet spot or a Will Osprey spot.
I'll be like, even if you don't get wrestling, you got to admit, that's pretty damn awesome right there.
Be Kyle 326 on Instagram.
How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
I prioritize sleep like it is the most important thing.
And it's difficult.
I've said this many times.
we've got a little girl and my wife is pregnant and we've got baby number two on the way in December.
So sleep has been pretty difficult. It was pretty difficult to come by in the first six months of our daughter Logan's life.
She was just tough. It was tough. We prioritized sleep a lot. And I think that the biggest thing that I could, the biggest piece of advice that I could give to anybody listening to this who maybe doesn't sleep that well is just try to.
to get into a sleep routine if that's possible for you. If you can try to get to bed around the same
time every night and try to wake up around the same time every morning, that will start to
just really help in a lot of different ways. And that's what we do. We aim for eight-ish hours
of sleep and like, we go to bed early. We're in bed at a time that begins with a nine
and we're waking up at a time that begins with a five.
So eight hours of sleep,
certainly not the same hours,
eight hours of sleep that I would get,
you know,
10 years ago when it was more like going to bed at midnight
and waking up at 8,
going to bed at 1 and waking up at 9,
going to bed on weekends at 2 or 2.30
and waking up at 10 or 11 or something like that.
But I'd say try to get into a routine that,
you know, I get that weekends have,
or I get that, you know, concerts happen or sporting events happen or whatever, just,
you know, a fun night out with friends, whatever it happens to be. But if you can try to stick to
in bed around the same time, waking up around the same time, it's really amazing how many other
things in life start to fall into place. And I'm not talking about getting into bed and then
scrolling through Instagram or TikTok for another half hour. I'm talking about when it's time
to go to bed, you turn off the lights, and you, like, go into your bed. So we also, like, there's a lot of
other things with sleep that are, like, pretty important to me now. Like, the room that I sleep in,
the room that we sleep in is pitch black, like black, black out curtains and, like, no light,
like no light from the clock, no light from like a little LED that might be showing that something's
powered on, like, nothing.
We've got little black pieces of electrical tape over any of those little LED lights,
like so dark in there that you can't even see your hand in front of your face.
And a little bit of white noise, whether that's from a fan or from the air conditioner or something
like that.
But sleep is such an important thing.
Like it fuels everything else in your life.
Like it's, I am not a doctor here, but it helps with like the balance of your hormones.
and it helps with gaining or losing weight.
Like it helps with so many other things.
So that's why it's been such a priority for me.
And it will continue to be a priority.
And I know that in December when our little boy enters the world,
there will not be as much of it.
So I will try to get as much good quality sleep now that I can.
And that is the last question that we've got here on Ask CVV.
number 46, the Andy Pettit, Lee Smith, Tim McDonald edition.
If you got a question for Ask CVV number 47, whatever that edition may be, send it in using the hashtag,
Ask CVV on social media, leave a comment on Spotify.
Also leave those comments about the $50 million, $100 million question there.
