Hey, CVV, I have to say that you are the best wrestling podcast I've ever heard. Well, that is awfully nice. My question is with the TNA and WWE partnership.

What matches are you looking forward to happening the most? Look, you know exactly what the first thing I'm going to name here is. Not necessarily a match, but when we talk about WWE and TNA having a partnership here, AJ Stiles returning to TNA would break the internet. And we almost had it a few years ago. AJ Stiles music hit in TNA. It was during the time when the world was shut down. so there was no reaction from the crowd because there was nobody there, but could you imagine?

And it was like the classic song too, like the, you are, you are, I am, I am. I love that song so much. It was Hornswoggle, who came out. Say J. Stiles, I think they called him. Say J. Swaggle is what they called him there. AJ returning to TNA in some sort of way to have any kind of match would be, it would just be incredible. I think that's at the top of everybody's list. Here's one, I think, selfishly I'd like to see happen.

Josh Alexander versus Chad Gable. And I know that Josh Alexander's TNA contract is up on February 14th. He talked about it at great length during the episode that he had on the show here. Fantastic conversation with Josh, who I've known for years. So there's still time. Like his contract's up in a few weeks. So there's still time to make this happen. also who knows what happens after February 14th.

Maybe he ends up going to WWE anyway. I also see a world where the Hardee's will be in WWE, whether that's through this partnership. And I really think that we're going to see one, if not both Hardee's at the Rumble. It just feels like the door is wide open for that to happen. But the Hardy's there. And then something with Masha Slamovich,

who is the TNA knockouts champion, she just brings a whole new level of intensity to what she does in the ring. And there's a lot of dream matchups there in WWE. But it should be pointed out that it seems pretty clear that this is not a partnership with TNA and WWE. This is very clearly a partnership with TNA and NXT. The press release says, quote, this is a multi-year partnership aimed at creating unprecedented crossover opportunities within WWE and TNA programming for, this is the most important part,

for NXT superstars and TNA wrestling stars. So I think that that is an important thing to point out. That's not to say that one-off moments can't happen. Like, for example, when Jordan Grace was in the Royal Rumble last year. It's not to say that stuff like that can't happen. But I think when we're talking about longer-term storylines or matches or just, programs where it's a series of matches, it seems to me like it's going to be NXT people

going to TNA and vice versa, TNA people going to NXT. So I think that these, these ideas that I was just throwing out there, like A.J. going to TNA, it's possible. Sure, it's possible. But I just don't know if this is based on the wording of the press release. I don't know if that's something that's going to happen. I also saw Jordan Grace put out a tweet where she said, save this tweet, an Ultimate X match is going to happen at WrestleMania. She didn't say specifically which WrestleMania could be this year or next year or five years from now. But my goodness, Ultimate X is one of my favorite kind of matches. In a nutshell, it's kind of like a ladder match with no ladders. So the title or the contract or whatever it is is hung on.

over the ring on cables that form an X across the ring. And there's scaffolding at all the turnbuckles. I guess it was different when they had a six-sided ring, but there's scaffolding four scaffolds that hold this thing up. So it's like a big X above the ring. And the only way you can retrieve the title or contract or whatever it is is by like climbing across these cables to grab it and then fall. There's been some amazing moments in these ultimate X matches.

Do I think we can see an ultimate X match in WWE? Yeah, I guess anything is possible. But I just feel like WWE already has so many of their own trademark matches. Hell and a cell, elimination chamber. The list goes on and on and on. Punjabi prison match, you know, there's so many of those type of matches. I don't know. I don't know if it's wishful thinking for sure to think that.

Yeah, maybe we could see an Ultimate X match. Ultimate X at WrestleMania seems like it's not as probable as Ultimate X at an NXT pay-per-view, NXT PLE. Ooh, that could get interesting. You got some really great talent on both sides with TNA and NXT that could really put something together there. I'd be very, very interesting to see. Big Mike 757 on Spotify says, Hey Chris, long time listener, first time caller.

What are your thoughts on Joe Hendry calling out John Cena unbusted open? Do you think this could be a possible match on the John Cena farewell tour? And if so, do you think it would happen in WWE or TNA? Thank you for all of your incredible interviews. I look forward to all that you have for us in 2025. Well, it was pretty amazing to hear Joe Henry say that. So the day after he won the TNA championship at Genesis. which was such a great moment.

He beat Nick Nemeth for the TNA heavyweight championship, TNA World Championship. He was unbusted open, and Bully Ray asked him, who's next for you? And he goes, John Sina. And Bully Ray's reaction is, what? Like flabbergasted. And I get it, right? He's a TNA champion calling out one of the greatest of all time, John Sina, who's now on this retirement tour. Do I think that this match could happen?

I don't know. We've talked about it a lot, but there's not a lot of matches that John Cena's going to have this year. 36 appearances is what he said. We've already seen one of those at raw Netflix. So now we're down to 35. We're going to see, I think, the next appearance, unless there happens to be one on Raw or Smackdown. The next appearance is the Royal Rumbles. And then we're down to 34.

Where does it go from there? I still think, and I asked this question in the press conference of John Cena, how many matches do you think it is? I still think it's going to be like, it's probably going to be a broad range, but like six to 12 matches, eight to 12 matches. I think that a lot of people have misconstrued 36 appearances to mean 36 matches.

Even if it's, even if it's an appearance to then set up a match, that's only 18 matches. If it's three appearances or two appearances to then set up a match, that's only then, would that be a little 12, 12 matches? So, and we were just doing math at this point now.

I think that you could see a moment, though. A match, I don't know, a moment I think is totally possible. I would, if I was a betting man, I would be, I think a pretty safe bet is that Joe Hendry is going to be in the Royal Rumble. Yeah, that's right. I also think that Jordan Grace will be in the Royal Rumble, and I don't think Jordan Grace is going to be in the Royal Rumble as a TNA star. I am, Jordan Grace is our next guest on the show, by the way.

She's our guest on Tuesday. We've already recorded the episode. I don't know if this is public information or not, but I guess it is now public information. Jordan Grace is going to be on the show on Tuesday, and she has a lot to say. We will just leave it at that. And you will see what I mean when this unfolds on Tuesday. And I just, I don't want to ruin the surprise of this. but I think that we will see Jordan Grace in the Royal Rumble,

and I think that we'll see Joe Hendry in the Royal Rumble. Well, who else is in the Royal Rumble? John Sina is in the Royal Rumble. And John Sina is so good at being tapped into what's going on right now in pro wrestling and also pop culture as a whole, but he knows. He knows what Joe Hendry has become over the last eight-ish months or so, and how Joe Hendry and his incredibly catchy theme song and his all the charisma that is oozing out of him has just taken the wrestling world by storm.

I think there'll be a moment. And if there's not a moment in the Royal Rumble, I think that at some point in 2025, there's a backstage moment. There's something. Maybe it's kind of like what Ethan Page did with The Rock, where it's a little backstage exchange of words, promo, you know, giving him the rub a little bit. that's what I see happening here. But this isn't new, okay?

Joe Hendry calling out John Cena, Joe Hendry wanting a match with John Cena, this isn't new. If you go back to the interview that I did with Joe Hendry, which was like six months ago, he talked about that on my show. He's been talking about this for a long time. Like that is the dream match for him.

And if there was ever a time for this to come true, it's this year. And it's right now with this partnership that's happening between WWE and TNA. But I think until we see John Sina's first match, and I'm not talking about the Royal Rumble match, but I'm talking about John Sina's first match, whether that I'm guessing it's going to be a singles match,

could be a tag team match, but I'm guessing it's going to be, I think he's going to have a lot of singles matches. I know there's the idea of like, well, let's just put him in a six-man match, and then five people can say that they shared the ring with John Sina during his retirement tour. Yeah, there might be a few of those.

But I think until we see John Cena's first match, we can't really, I don't think we'll have an idea of what this retirement tour is going to look like. And I also think that his first match isn't going to be indicative of what the rest of the retirement tour is going to be. I think some people might go, oh, man, in his first match back, it's John Cena versus, I'm just making up names here, but it's John Cena versus Cody Rhodes. That means that all John Cena's matches are going to be for the championship because John Cena is chasing down that 17th championship. Yeah, maybe. But what have John seen his first matches against, again, just completely speculating wildly here?

His first match is against Braun Breaker or against Chad Gable. Oh, man, so he's not going to go after the top belt? He's going to work his way up from here. We're going to see a lot of these, like, opening matches, a lot of these like mid-card style matches. I don't know. But I think until we see at least that first match after the Rumble. And then another match or two after there, we won't really get a feel for what this retirement tour is going to be. like. Also, I think we should, again, speculating wildly here, what would the over under be on

John Cena singles matches between now and WrestleMania, now and including WrestleMania? I'm going to put it at like four. That might even be too much. I don't know. Maybe it's three. Again, it could be way more. It could be 10. But I just think that we've got February, March, and then half of April, because we're going after the Royal Rumble here. Yeah, maybe it's four, maybe it's three. I don't know, maybe it's even less. Maybe it's, again, we're just spitball in here. If John Cena wins the Royal Rumble, does he have any matches before WrestleMania?

It'll be really interesting to see you because the elephant in the room here. And I almost asked this at the press conference when John Cena was up there for the first raw on Netflix, but I didn't want to jinx it. I didn't want to put it out into the universe. But the elephant in the room is John Cena needs to stay healthy. we're talking about a 12-month retirement tour here. If there's a torn ligament or a torn muscle, yeah, sure, he can still make appearances, but how's he going to wrestle? And I think that that's a really important thing to talk about. So I think that circling back here to the question about Joe

Hendry, love Joe Hendry, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the work ethic that he has and the time that he's put into this. And I'm so happy for him. that it's finally paying off. My hat is off to Joe Hendry and huge congratulations. I was actually just texting with him yesterday. He's got to come back on the show now that he's the TNA champ. So I look forward to that one happening, hopefully the next month or so.

Maybe we do it after the Royal Rumble, because like I said, I just feel like he's going to be in there. Not that he has said this to me, not that I have heard this from anybody. This is just a feeling in my gut. Just a feeling in my tum-tum. To quote Simon Miller.

but I think we're going to see a lot of moments is what I'm saying. I think there'll be a lot of John Cena moments. This person got to cut a promo with John Cena. This person got to do a backstage segment with John Cena. That's what I think we're going to see a lot. It's a new year and we're all about setting goals and actually hitting them. Also, who do you think the final four will be? Who will eliminate him? So final four, I think it'll be as tough.

I think you can lock, not lock in, but if we're looking at this right now, you're just looking at it kind of objectively with where the storylines are at here right now. I think that final three, or at least three of the final four feel pretty easy to nail down. John Sina, Roman Rains, C.M. Punk. I can't see those people being eliminated earlier. For the fourth one, I could see Drew McIntyre being in there. stirring up something with CM Punk. I could see Seth Rawlins being in there and also something there with CM Punk.

But who would eliminate Roman? I think at some point this year, we're going to have to see John Cena versus Roman Raines. Is this the match that sets that up? Is it John Cena eliminating Roman Raines? It sets something up for later? Could be. But I feel like when you look at this, the three people that I feel like have the best chance of winning the men's Royal Rumble is John Sina, Roman Ray and CM Punk.

There's a story for all of them there. John Sina's is easy, right? We've been talking about it since last year. And then he really cemented it with the first raw Netflix. Can he get that lottery ticket, right? Can he get lucky? Can he get that title shot? Well, you know what?

I could get it through winning the Royal Rumble. I could get it through elimination. chamber. I could get it through money in the bank. So there's a story there. Roman Reigns, just with everything that he's had going on for the last five years, seems like he'd be an easy choice to win the Royal Rumble. And then with CM Punk, the storyline is he's never won the Royal Rumble, never main event at WrestleMania. Well, you could kill two birds with one stone by having him be the last person in the Men's Royal Rumble, especially after being. being the last person eliminated last year by Cody when Cody won the rumble.

Although the injury that CM Punk had, I think, yeah, what would have happened? If CM Punk was actually like booked to win and he had the tricep injury, I don't know what they were going to do there. But that is a completely other story. Those are my picks for the final four. I'm going to go Drew instead of Seth on that. So Sina Roman Punk Drew, I guess we could be thrown a curveball in there. Is Rock going to be in the Royal Rumble?

be a nice little surprise. And if Rock is in the Royal Rumble, maybe that's someone who eliminates Roman Reins. This is the great thing. This is the great thing about wrestling, and I feel like right now there's just a lot of questions. There's a lot of times we go into the Royal Rumble, and you're like, oh, man,

it is so clearly going to be so-and-so who wins. This year, I don't feel that. I don't feel that at all. This year, like there's three, definitely three legitimate choices, three legitimate stories for like, yeah, could be really any of them. So I don't know if I've been this excited for a Royal Rumble in a long time. And we mentioned it last week on AskCTVV,

but this could quite possibly be the most star-studded men's Royal Rumble of all time. Also, I mean, depending on who returns, there's a lot of potential returns there on the women's side with Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss. There's a potential that all three are, of those could return. And then, of course, you've got some legends that would be thrown into the Women's Royal Rumble. This could just be

as a whole. The most star-studded, both men's and women's Royal Rumble matches of all time. Man, can't wait. Can't wait to see how this all plays out. Tom Priddle emailed this one in. My question, with the roster now so stacked, should they increase the men's royal rumble to 40 participants? P.S., I spent some time in Oscewa, Ontario, as my friend grew up there not very far from Pickering, absolutely loved it, and it was a great place with great people. Ah, yes, the dirty schwa, as we call Oshawa. Anyone who grew up in Durham region will know exactly what I'm talking about. Actually went to a TNA pay-per-view in Oshua, Ontario. No

surrendered 2008 at the G, what was it? The General Motors Center in Oshawa. Samoa Joe defeated Christian Cage and Kurt Engel in the main event three-way match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Could we see a 40 man, Royal Rumble or 40 Woman Royal Rumble? I don't think so. The last time we had 40 in the Royal Rumble was 2011. And in my personal opinion, it was just too much. Like, I get the idea of, like, it's cool to see a few extra returns, and it's cool to, like, have some people who have never been in a Royal Rumble,

have their music hit, and they have their moment. I just kind of felt, and maybe you're with me on this one. But after we got past 30, I just don't feel. feel like it, I don't know, it didn't, they didn't count. And I get that there were a lot of like big entrance that came after 30, but it just was like, this is too much. And then when they did the greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 and there were 50 participants in there, too many. Like, it is way too much. I love seeing that meme. I love seeing that meme right around this time of year, like right when the new year starts. And it's always like the gym after January 1st. And it's a picture

from the greatest Royal Rumble, like so many. people in the ring, like way too many people in the ring. 30 is the perfect number. And I also think that when you start messing around with with history like that, the whole idea of like, who's going to enter at 30? It just doesn't seem to fit when it's like, who's going to enter at 40? Who's the big surprise return at 40? I don't know. And I think that this is just the idea of like something that we're so used to having for so long, 30 people in the Royal Rumble. I can't see it happening. And quite frankly,

I don't want to see it happen. I think 30 is the perfect number. Also, there was a lot of complaints for a long time that PLEs were too long. And if you're adding 10 more participants to both Royal Rumbles, that's adding at least half an hour to the show as a whole. So let's keep it at 30. And again, like I just said,

I can't wait for this Royal Rumble. Overly awesome 433 on Instagram. Do you think Penta has the ability to be the next Ray Mysterio? Well, Penta has been something special for a long time. And I'm so glad that the W.W fans are finally getting to see what Penta is capable of. What all of us who have seen Penta and Lucha Underground and AAA and Impact and AW have been seeing for a long time. It is really cool, though. Like, he's been part of a fantastic tag team.

Lucha Bros are just amazing with what they can do in the ring, which is Penta and his actual brother, Phoenix. They're amazing, but I love that Penta's doing his own thing here. And they have really figured out the total package with him. I know it's only been two weeks. I know it's only been two matches, but it's been two great weeks, two great matches, two epic entrances. He might have the best entrance in wrestling right now. It's, and again, it's only two weeks in. Now we'll have to see how this goes in the next few weeks.

We'll have to see how this plays out. We'll have to see what kind of story that this follows. What's the first big feud that he's going to be put into? It seems like they're setting something up for something bigger with Chad Gable. But I really, really, really. really hope that he doesn't fall into the same trap that L.A. Knight was battling for the last year or two, which is, people might not know this because he's wearing a mask, but Penta turns 40 next month. And I just hope that he doesn't fall into this silly thing of, oh, man, buddy's 40. Oh, he's a little too old because he's 40. No, not too old for nothing. And does Penta have the ability to be the next Ray Mysterio? aside from the fact that they are masked wrestlers,

they really don't have anything in common. They wrestle two completely different styles. Also, Penta, born and raised in Mexico. Ray, obviously, of Mexican descent, but born and raised and proudly representing San Diego, 619. I just think that they're, yes, they both wear masks, but I think that that's where the comparisons end. like Ray is this fun-loving happy-go-lucky like underdog you can't help but root for.

Penta is this aggressive, man, hard-hitting. There's just so much to it. But I think that he's a completely different style of wrestlers, what I'm saying here. But I think what has really allowed Penta to endear himself to the audience. so much is it just feels authentic. It feels so real. Like you could see the genuine emotion when he was cutting that promo when he debuted. And even like he's so he's in promo mode, right? He's cutting the promo in both English and Spanish. And like I was saying last week, like you could, even if you don't speak Spanish, which I do not, which always reminds me of the line from Anchorman when he's

talking to his dog, you know I don't speak Spanish when Ron Burgundy is speaking to Baxter. But even if you don't speak Spanish, like Ron Burgundy. You could just feel the passion behind it. You could feel the intensity behind it. But after that promo, he just, like the thank you he said to the crowd, even though it was just two words, you could just tell it was like, this is his moment. And you could just so plainly see what this meant to him. Actually, I saw another video where it was like a fan video that was shot before his entrance. And he was coming out there and he was just like getting into position before the TV camera cut to him. You could just see like there was like a nervous energy to him, like a nervous excitement. I was like, man, that's what's endearing him to the audience so

much. This is someone you can, you can see yourself in their shoes. Everybody's ever, everybody's had a goal in life. Everybody's had a dream, something they've chased after. And I feel like for Pence and the career that he's had, he's finally being able to showcase the, on the largest stage possible. He's been a pro wrestler for 20 years, and now he's got the chance to do what he's doing. And I know this is a very early prediction. It's January.

A lot of things could happen between now and WrestleMania 41, but I see a fantastic match between Penta and someone at WrestleMania 41. What's great about Penta in the same way that Ray has this going for him is he is super marketable. like penta masks, penta shirts. I'm sure they'll be selling penta gloves. I'm actually surprised they haven't come out with them. Maybe they already have come out with them.

I should probably check WWE shop to see. But that's going to be something that's very marketable. Also, the idea of zero fear is I think something that everybody can kind of latch onto. So incredibly marketable. And I think that it's really obvious that he can go in the ring. And for anybody who's not aware of the work that he did before, this is a former tag team champion in AEW and Impact Wrestling,

former Trio's champion in AEW, and a world champion in Impact Wrestling. And I think that, again, another thing he has in common with L.A. Knight, when L.A. Knight was on the massive run that he was in, in 2023 and then into 2024, a lot of people were saying, well, man, this guy could be a world champion. Yeah, well, that guy was a world champion.

And it's just, I understand that not everybody watches TNA. But it's just so wild to me that people will be like, oh, man, this guy's championship material. This guy should, he deserves a world title. He's been a world champion. And same with Penta. Granted, Penta was a world champion in impact wrestling for two days. But he was a world champion there.

He beat Austin Ares. And then two days later, lost it back to Austin Ares. We're talking 2018 here. But this is someone who has been there and done it. And there is no reason to believe that he can't do it again. The future is so, so bright for him. And he's just exciting to watch. He's so exciting to watch. The other thing that's really cool about Penta is, like there's no information out there about who he is. Like if you type in, which I'm sure a lot of you have already done, Penta unmasked, nothing comes up. And this is the beautiful thing about this is he's like, this is the true idea of a luchador is

hiding your true identity. This is a guy who can walk through airports and nobody knows who he is. Like that's almost like a superpower at this point for someone at the level that he's at. And I think that that's a, there's a beautiful, there's a beautiful thing to that mystery. It's like this, this dichotomy, right, of this super, famous person that nobody knows who they really are. It's an amazing thing. I think there's something that's very beautiful and very poetic about that. And I also love that whatever his personal life is, he can live that life. I will say, I was backstage, though. Maybe I shouldn't say this. I was backstage in an MLW show a handful of years ago in Fort Lauderdale.

And I did meet Penta and Phoenix before, like, as they were walking into the building. They were both very nice. So there are people out there who know who they are. I don't know if their real names are, but there are people out there who are who are aware of what they are. But I just love that it's,

I remember him being a commentator in WWF and then into WWE with all of the various different hats that he's worn there. The thing that's great about Paul Heyman is you could give Paul Heyman like literally one word it's almost like a

Paul Heyman's almost like his own episode of whose line is it anyway you know where they like throw out the crowd just throws out random words I feel like you could say anything to Paul Hamon like any sort of random word and he would cut a 10 minute long promo without saying um

or ah or you know and that's just how good he is and he would also like have you like probably questioning like a lot of different things in your life because that's just the way that he cuts promos. I think that Paul Heyman is not just an incredible performer. We already know that. But he's just masterful with the words and the way that he's able to weave those words together into the promos that he cuts. And I really truly don't know if anybody has ever done it at the level that Paul Heyman has. And again, no disrespect to Bobby the Brain Heenan, one of the all-time

greats. I just personally think that Paul Heyman's a wordsmith. And it's not even just in promos. Like, did you see him at like, have you seen him at any press conference? Any of these press conferences? Like the press conference for the first raw on Netflix. And he turned a question into like Roman Raines deserves an Emmy. And you know, while we're at it, I deserve an Emmy too. And it's like, hell yeah. What amazing. And I was going to say he's amazing self-promoter, but he's just a promoter in general.

Not even a self-promoter, just a promoter. And he has a pretty great track record with his Paul Heyman guys. Maybe not all of them, but a pretty great track record with his Paul Heyman guys. I've been listening to your podcast since this past summer, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I have a question for Ask CVV. I was just wondering, I was just watching the first A.W. Double or Nothing, Cody Rhodes versus Dustin Rhodes. Side-Doh. That's one of my favorite matches of all time.

The storytelling in that match is beautiful. And I was crying as I was watching that live in Las Vegas. On commentary, Jim Ross said that the American Dream Dusty Rhodes was the brightest star in the family and will be the brightest star in the family, and that he will be the brightest star in the family. Six years later, with all that Cody has done, do you think he has surpassed his father or if he can? Well, look, there's no question

all three of the people that we're talking about here, Dusty Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, and Cody Rhodes are Hall of Famous. Dustin Reynolds are Hall of Famers. Dusty's already in. Cody and Dustin will be in at some point whenever their careers are over. There is no question about that. I think that this type of question, though, about who's the brightest star here?

Who's the biggest star? Is it the father or is it one of the sons? I think that ends up becoming a battle of nostalgia versus recency bias. Because if you're just looking at just straight up resumes, Cody has now accomplished more than his father ever did. And I think that if we're just talking stats here, just stats alone, I think that Cody has done more. I think that if we're talking about just legacy in general, and I think that Cody would tell you the same thing himself if he was answering this question, that there's only one American dream. And when you think of the amount of different lives that he's touched, not just what the work that he did in the ring or the promos that he cut, but the amount of people who he helped to shape their careers or shape their characters when he was working behind the scenes in WWE and behind the scenes in. in NXT. I think that that's where Dusty Rhodes, he's the American dream. He's just, he's a multi-generational star too. There's people that are my age who know about Dusty. There's

people far older than me, people that are like my parents' age that know about Dusty. And there's people that are younger than me that know about Dusty and are familiar with his work. I think that it'd be, this is always the tough thing, right? When the father is, so famous and so well known and has had so many accomplishments. It's almost like a, you've got a, it's a measuring stick that, oh, you're going to get in the same industry as well, okay, even though Dusty told Cody like, I don't want you to be a wrestler. And Cody actually went down a path of acting first.

He came here to L.A. And he took acting classes from the great Howard Fine. We actually talked about it in the last interview I did with Cody. He talked about taking his acting classes in a house. L.A. But I think that when you, when you go into the same career path that made your father a legend, it's a big shoes to fill. I think what's been great is Cody pays tribute to his father with the dream tattoo and calling himself the American nightmare instead of the American dream. It pays tribute to him, but he has very much become his own man and his own character. But I think that

it's all three of them have had great careers. I think that you could, you could really make a case for any of those three, for Dustin, for Cody or for dusty. And I, I don't think you'd be wrong. I think that you would be hard,

like you could, sure, you could argue against it. But then I'd be like, well, yeah, but like they're all great. So I think it just comes down to a matter of taste,

really, because sure, sure, Dusty Roads slash, or Dustin Roads, dust in Rhodes slash gold dust hasn't won the world championship. Well, neither did Dusty. But I think that when we're talking in WWE,

but Dusty is a three-time NWA world's heavyweight champion. Look, three amazing careers, but I could see a case being made, you know, really with any of them. So thank you for what you do, CVV, much appreciated. My Ask CVVV question has to do with the golden days of WCW, and I want to know what your Mount Rushmore of WCW. wrestlers may possibly be. I'm wondering about actual WCW wrestlers that made their name in that organization, not talking about people like stunning Steve Austin, who didn't do a lot in WCW, but of course went on to make a name for themselves in WWE. So who is your Mount Rushmore of

proper WCW wrestlers? Take care. Dylan Sam Jones. P.S., it would be super rad and mean a lot to me if you said the name of my band. The Howling Roosters! So there's your quick question. shout out there. Shout out to the Howland Roosters. I had a conversation with Booker T about this when he was on the show last summer. And we used kind of the same parameters of like what makes you a WCW Mount Rushmore member. And it's someone who I think just like had a standout career in just WCW or like at least started their career in WCW. And Flair was not on the Mount Rushmore that we were talking about. And people kept going, What about Rick Flair? What about Rufflair? It's like, Rick Flair was already a star when he went to WCW.

He'd already done so much before that. So, yeah, while he had a great career in WCW, I think that there's other names on there. If we're just talking about homegrown WCW talent, he's not on the list. The list for me is Sting, Booker T. DDP and Goldberg. If you're just talking about homegrown WCW talent, where was the, well, and Bookerty had did so much after that, but that also speaks to how great he was. Five time, five time, five time, five time, five time,

WCW champion. Really was a six-time WCW champion because he won one more after the invasion angle and everything that happened there with WCW being bought out by WWB. But that's my Mount Rushmore. Yeah, you can make a case for, one or two other names on there,

but if you're just talking about pure homegrown WCW talent, bulk of their career there, like, yeah, Sting made a few appearances in W.E and did what he did in AEW later on in his career, but yeah, I think when

you think about a WCW Mount Rushmore, really hard to argue against those four. I don't know who else you would, I don't know who you would take off of there. A lot of people, oh man, I don't like, I don't like the way that Bill Goldberg wrestled. His matches were too short.

Okay. But he was a pretty damn great wrestler. And if you remember the late 90s, he was one of the standout stars of WCWs. So I'm, that is my Mount Rushmore. And I am sticking to it. Dakota Johnson emailed this one in. Hey, CVV, I see a lot of people complaining about Triple H

posting these behind the scenes videos saying that it's ruining the magic. I think it's really cool. And it's awesome to see how everything comes together. I would like to hear your insight on this. No pun intended. Real, real one since 2022. I love the podcast and can't wait to see how well you do in 2025. Thank you, Dakota.

I appreciate that. I can't think of Dakota Johnson without thinking of the actress, Dakota Johnson, who infamously had a fun interview with me. Well, it was her and Leslie Mann with me. If you know, you know, this isn't new. Peeling the curtain back and seeing things going on behind the scenes isn't new. Like, I remember watching the Brett Hart documentary wrestling with shadows in the late 90s. I remember beyond the mat.

And I remember how cool it was to, they revealed a little bit, but they didn't reveal at all. And I think that it's, I think it's really cool seeing like a little bit of how the sausage is made. Because I think it gives you an extra appreciation for the finished product in the same way that like, I love seeing. behind the scenes footage of when movies are being made. Like when you're watching an action film and you see the behind the scenes footage and they're like, they still have the wires attached to them. Or you're watching the behind the scene footage and there's like, they're jumping in front of a green screen. And you're like, oh, what could that be? And then you see the final movie later on. I loved when they were doing the Mission Impossible seven behind the scene stuff. They basically sold that in

higher movie on that Tom Cruise stunt where he rides the motorcycle off the cliff and then his parachute opens. I love that whole package and vignette and whatever you want to call it of like the prep for that stunt and how many months of work went into it and all the planning and everything. And then he actually jumps off. It was it six times, I think. And then when you go to the theater and you watch it all play out, it means that much. more. So these behind the scenes videos that Triple H has been posting, like most recently, the one I really liked that was posted, I think just a few days ago, was watching the kind of behind the scenes of Tomatanga and Jacob Fattu's entrance. And just like Triple H standing where

Jacob would be and like, yeah, you're looking at the camera right here and Tomatanga's doing his thing in front on the ring apron. And then you actually see when they do their entrance later on that night, you're like, hell yeah, like, I can see how this came together now. So I don't think it's revealing too much at all, because there is still so much that they're not revealing. Like, they are just barely peeling back the curtain like an inch, just an inch to show you, like, here's one thing. Of the, like, 900 things we could be showing, we showed you one thing.

And I appreciate that. I think that it makes you value it that much more. And I don't see it going away at all. I actually, I want to see a little bit more of this. And I think that a good contingency of the wrestling fan base probably wants to see more. And I also feel like WWE is very strategic with what they show. They show a lot of things that maybe have some Easter eggs hidden in them. or they show some things that get people talking or like there was a lot of chatter before

Pentas debut of like, well, why are they, why are they revealing this already? Why is his merchandise already on WWE shop? Well, because it hypes it up even more. It makes people go, all right, if there was any question in our mind of who this would be, well, now we know. Now I'm tuning in to see what this is all about if I don't know who he is or to see what this debut looks like if I've been watching Pentagon Jr. for a while now. I enjoy this a lot. I also think that one of the staples now of the Triple H era or whatever we're going to call this era is the Triple H pointing photo. When the person makes their debut or return or they win a championship, the Triple H pointing photo in front of the WWE logo, that's become a staple now. And that's, I mean, if you really want to get technical here,

that's a behind the scenes thing too. Why is this bad, why is this bad guy smiling? Why, he shouldn't be doing that? Yeah, I think that we are in an era now where we know that these are performers going out there and telling a story and putting their lives on the line and putting their bodies on the line. I think we are aware of what wrestling is. I don't think we need to pretend that it's anything else. This is not the 70s or 80s where we legitimately think that these people don't like each other. Although it is interesting when there's people like they're so good at their job, like basically

CM Punk versus anybody he's feuded with since coming back. They're so good at their job that you actually believe they don't like each other. And I think that that's also where the magic happens here because we are in an era where we've been fed so much information and we do have the ability to see a lot of things that are going, on behind the scenes, or at least we think we are. But again, I think we're only being fed just a tiny little bit of it. And I will hold true to this. I think that it makes us appreciate the finished product that much more. The Ronarchy. What a username. It's a comment on Spotify. Ask CVV number 67, the Richard Rackle, and the last Leafs Cups cup edition.

Oh, being from Toronto, that one both hurts and is hilarious. The last time the Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup was 1967, when there were only five other teams in the league. But I digress. With the clip you shared of John Sina giving you extra time in your interview, it seems like he does that often. Do you think that Sina does the same for wrestling fans? And he gives us, quote, 15 more minutes to extend his final voyage to WrestleMania 42.

Imagine Orton acting as a heel, grabbing a mic in late December and telling Sien, Sina, he's not going anywhere. He's the legend killer, and he has a legend to kill. I think that this is a wonderful idea and wonderful fantasy booking, but no, I think that this is truly ending in December and what a ride we're going to be on. Whatever this ends up, however this comes to an ahead, whatever the crescendo is of John Sina's Final story arc here. It will end in December. And I know there's been a lot of talk about how can it end in December? There's no major PLE in December. I have some theories on this,

and I've discussed this before. I think they are either going to create a whole other PLE that is just around John Sina, or I think that maybe he kicks the year off on Raw on Netflix, and maybe he ends the year on Raw on Netflix, which also, I think, would prove, would be WWE proving to Netflix like, look, look what we can do. Look what we're capable of. Look at the, look at these numbers. Look at the viewership. Look how many new subscribers are. I can see that being a thing as well. But no, I think that one thing that John Sina is, and this isn't just John Sina, the wrestling character. This is John Sina, the person. He is a man of his word. And I know that from personal experience, from setting up,

these interviews that I've set up with John Sina. If John Sina says he's going to do something, he's going to do something. So if John Sina is saying that this is it, you will see him in WWE after this year, but he will not be wrestling. You have to believe that. So December is it for him. I like this idea of, you know, keeping this going 15 more minutes. No, that's not going to be the case. But I will say I don't have any sort of inside knowledge about this, but I think the ride that WWE is going to take us on this year with John Sina and this retirement tour is going to be something really, really special. And most wrestlers don't get to call their shot. Most wrestlers' careers are taken from them,

not the other way around. So the fact that John Sina can go out on his own terms is something that should really be celebrated. And I'm excited. excited to see how this whole thing plays out. Josh Culver on Spotify says, when you get a chance to do an interview on the fly, like the one you did with Otis, do you just take a little bit of time for preparation? Or do you just have a few topics in mind and see where the conversation goes? So if you don't know the full story about the interview I did with Otis, I interviewed Chad Gable earlier that day at my hotel.

We were in Minneapolis. It's the same trip where I did the interview with the great Jesse Ventura. and he goes, who else are you interviewing while you're in town? I said, oh, I'm interviewing Jesse Ventura tomorrow, but that's it. He goes, oh, would you want to interview the dozer? I'm like, of course. Yes, of course I would. He goes, oh, well, he lives just down the street for me.

He's one of my best friends. I'll call him right now. Calls him, doesn't answer. Then he texts him. He says, I am here with Chris Van Vleet. He wants to do an interview. Would you be down? Chad ends up giving Otis my number.

Fast forward 20, 30 minutes later. An unknown number from Minnesota calls me. I answer it. Hey, Christopher, he's a dozer. And sure enough, it was Otis. He's like, yeah, let's do this thing. He ended up coming by just a few hours after that. So I didn't have a ton of time to prep.

So I kind of start any interview that I do with what are the questions in my head right now? Without doing any sort of research, what are the questions that are in my head right now? let's just brain dump those out. And I have a note section on my iPhone for really a lot of people. Interviews I've already done before. Interviews I have that are booked and are happening soon. And interviews that I look forward to hopefully doing one day, like Randy Orton or A.J. Stiles or Triple H. Or Sean Michaels. I hope that all of those end up happening this year. So for Otis, it was just like spitballing, just like throwing all these ideas out. Another thing I do is I'll text some of my buddies who are huge wrestling fans like you and I are who are listening to this.

I'll text them, hey man, last minute of an interview with Otis, any questions off the top of your head? And then you get a few things of like, oh, man, I've always wondered about this match or this moment or with some people, not Otis specifically, but like, I've always wondered about like why they changed from this entrance theme to this entrance theme. That's kind of where I start. start really broad. Then I will go and I'll do like a, kind of just like a skeleton of their career. When did they start?

Who trained them? What were the main storylines that took them to the next level? What championship belts have they won? Who did they beat for those championships? Who did they lose those championships to? Have they wrestled at WrestleMania? Who were those matches with? What were those big moments?

That's kind of where I, it's kind of brain dump those out. And usually I'm fortunate enough that my friend Alex Hunt, who is so talented at this, he does some real deep dives. And I didn't have the ability to do that with the Otis interview, but he usually does like a deep dive of like, here's what their career is, here's their career highlights,

here's some of their viral moments, here's some big things to ask them about. And he does that for 99.5% of my interviews. And there's occasionally like the Otis one that happens on the fly. But that's usually what happens. And then when you get someone like Otis who just is hilarious, you can kind of just let the conversation flow. And I wasn't planning to ask him about horror movies, but it came up in conversation. And the next thing you know, he's talking about the horror movies he loves.

And I think that that's where some of the best stuff comes from, where you are, you, you just let the conversation veer off the road, off the proverbial road. And you just follow it. Oh, man, you mentioned this thing. So let's follow that a little bit. Let's let's tugget that thread, if you will, and see where it goes. But I'd say that that's kind of the basic breakdown. And I hinted at this on Ask CVV last week, but maybe we'll do a behind the scenes of one of these big interviews, like maybe another one with John Sino, which, like I said, he's a man of his word. And he did tell me that he will do another one with me in 2025 at some point on the retirement tour.

Maybe we'll do it behind the scenes, a little documentary on an interview with him, or maybe a behind the scenes look at one of these live shows. But that's the kind of just idea I have out there, floating that out there. And then maybe you guys could see even more of how this process works. I saw you wearing the military blues and the retro red cements in a few different interviews. but why Jordan Fores specifically? Well, I should point out I'm not just wearing Jordan Fours.

I also have a bunch of Jordan ones, a few pairs of Jordan threes, and then probably, I think, four or five pairs of Jordan Fours. I'm not really a big sneaker guy. I feel like I should point that out as well. I'm not a huge sneaker guy. I just think they look cool. And especially with most of the time, I'm wearing a black Viori shirt. shirt and either black jeans or just denim, normal colored blue jeans, I feel like some fun

socks and some fun shoes and maybe a decent watch, that kind of spices things up a little bit. That's just the kind of the way I look at it. Yeah, but I'm not a sneaker head at all. I couldn't tell you the, I didn't know that those were retro red cements. I just thought they were cool looking red and white shoes. I knew they were Jordan fours. Like, I know that much. But when someone's like, oh, have you,

have you seen the new Jordan Sevens? I don't know. You can even see in the interview I did with L.A. Knight. What was that? That was the end of 2023. He was talking about how he modeled his wrestling boots after Jordan 11s. I don't know what Jordan 11th looked like. I didn't know what Jordan 11th look like.

I know what they look like now because they look like L.A. Knight's boots with the little patent leather black, on the bottom of them. But for me, it's just like just a pop of color, something fun. That's it. And the Jordan 4 is specifically, because I think they're the most comfortable. I went through a phase. And if you go back and watch some of my early TV stuff, like the Bobby Lashley days,

even though I only had that blonde patch in my hair for like 10 days, if you look at the stuff I did on that show that I was on, which was called 969, or a lot of skate shoes. Jordan fours remind me of skate shoes just with like, just a little puffier, if you will, and a little more comfortable. And skate shoes are so comfortable. So I think for me, that's why it's Jordan fours. Jordan threes are also crazy comfortable.

This may be an unpopular opinion. Jordan ones look awesome. And I have, I don't know, five pairs of Jordan ones. They're not that comfortable. Like there's been days when, like, I'll leave the house. wearing Jordan once and then I'll like go to the airport and I like to walk around before my flight to just get some extra steps in. Then I'll sit on the plane and at some point throughout the day if this is a long travel day. If you're traveling like from door to door from leaving the

house to getting to the hotel, if it's eight, 10, 12, 14 hours, Jordan ones aren't that comfortable. I'm sorry. Again, I know it's an unpopular opinion because they look great. But I would much rather wear threes or fours or I often just wear my running shoes because I'm doing a lot of walking. Like I said, if you're going to be sitting on a plane all day, the very least you can do is walk around the airport. Like instead of just sitting at the gate for half an hour, an hour or more, walk around a little bit.

Get some steps in. That's what I like to do. But this really just comes down to because they're comfortable. That's it. And they look kind of cool, but that's it. And it's always cool. I think it's, it's always cool when you guys show love and go, oh, man, you're wearing the military blues. CVV, I see you.

Cold outside. Had to put on a light jacket today. And cold is like, it's 55 degrees Fahrenheit. So like, I don't know, what would the actual conversion there be? It's like 13 degrees Celsius.
