Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Van Fleet.
Happy Friday and welcome back to another one here on Inside.
I'm CVV.
Chris Van Fleet, thank you for being with us on an Ask CVV episode.
Thank you for being a real one.
I appreciate you.
And thank you for helping to make Insight the number one wrestling podcast on the planet.
Hit a finger poke of doom on that follow button.
wherever you're listening right now. If it happens to be Spotify, could I ask you for a very quick
favor? I know it doesn't sound like much, but rating the show helps so much. Just go in there,
click the three little dots when you go to the main page of the show. Dot, dot, dot,
then you'll see Rate Show come up as an option. Then the stars will come up from there.
So please, if you could do that, that would mean the world to me. I will give you the biggest
high five when I see you as my way of saying, thank you for doing that.
Speaking of seeing you, we have two live shows coming up.
We just announced a brand new one.
So of course, you know that we're going to be in Las Vegas for WrestleMania week.
Thursday, April 17th, we've got Insight Live at Circa Resort and Casino.
Those tickets are on sale right now at CVVTix.com.
And we'll be announcing the guest in just a matter of days.
That's the plan, at least.
We'll be announcing the guest very soon.
The VIP tickets for that one are almost completely sold out.
I think there's like two left.
So if you're going to be in Las Vegas for WrestleMania and you don't have any plans on Thursday night, well, now you do.
I will see you at Circa for Insight Live.
Then summer slam weekend on Friday, August 1st, we're going to be in New York City for Insight Live.
That's huge.
Tickets for that are also on sale right now, including the VIP tickets, which include a special Ask CVV.
for the show and then the meet and greet after the show. So grab those tickets,
CVVTiX.com and I can't wait to see you there. Should I come to your town? Where do you live?
Leave it in the comments if you're listening on Spotify or shoot me a message on social media.
I would love to come to wherever you are if you think we can make it work. I've had a lot of
people be like, when are you going to do an Insight Live in the UK? I would love to. We just got to
figure this out and make it work the best that we can. We've got to figure out who the guest could be,
what city would it be? I would love to make it happen. So fingers crossed that we can make that happen
sometime this year. I would love to do that. Welcome, my friends, to ask CVV number 76, the Steve
Mongo McMichael and P.K. Suban edition. Thank you for all of the questions that you sent in for this one.
And if you have a question for next week, Ask CVV number 77, leave a comment on Spotify.
It's always so fun going through those comments and seeing all those.
Shoot it over to me on social media using the hashtag AskCTVV or shoot me an email.
CVV at Chris Vanfleet.com.
And I will tell you this.
I said it last week, but this is the return this week of Ask RVV.
It's been like 10, I think it was Ask CVV 65 as she was on the show last.
It's been a while, but I love that my incredible wife was able to find some time when the kids were napping to be able to come on here and answer a few of your questions.
So if you haven't asked RVV question for next week, also send that in using the methods that we just previously talked about before.
I feel like as we continue to inch closer to WrestleMania, there's a lot of really interesting things to talk about here.
And these are some of my favorite episodes to record because it's just me and you hanging out,
whatever you're doing right now, whether you're driving to work or you're walking the dog
or you're cutting the lawn, whatever it is, working out.
I love that we're hanging out right now.
So I just want to say you're awesome for that.
Let's dive in with this one from Marquez underscore 96 underscore on Instagram.
Hey, CVV, what are your thoughts on John Cena's promo from this past week on Raw?
man, the crowd was eating it up, eating it up.
This is what's so interesting about this heel sceneic character.
And he even pointed it out during this.
He's still very much kind of holding to the values that he has,
which is also why he didn't change his song,
didn't change his the clothes he's wearing.
He's holding those same values.
How funny is it that the crowd is chanting profanities at him?
He's not swearing at the crowd.
they're swearing at him and he's the bad guy.
I just feel like that there's an interesting dichotomy to that.
But what's really interesting about, especially this past week, is Sina's saying,
quote, you desperately want to matter.
Like the crowd wants to matter so much.
And it's almost like they're saying all the things that they're helping him become a heel.
like Sina could just literally stand out there for 20 minutes.
And the crowd would just,
especially with these crazy crowds they've had on the European tour,
they would be just controlling this whole narrative here.
John Sina is a bad guy?
Great.
We're going to chant this.
Then we're going to chant this.
Then we're going to chant this.
And we just, we don't like this version of the character.
I think that people aren't realizing how much thought
has gone into John Sina turning heel.
and then everything that's involved with that.
I bet there were lengthy discussions about, well, what should he wear?
And also, like, not just what should he wear?
Also, what should you wear?
Like, Triple H and company speaking directly to John Sina.
What do you think you should wear?
I bet they went through a whole bunch of different scenarios.
Well, what if he came out in a suit?
What if he was like corporate John Sina?
Well, what if he came out, like, wearing sunglasses?
And he was like, Hollywood.
John Sina. What if he came out? Throwback to like 20-ish years ago. What if he was the doctor of thuganomics?
I bet that all of these scenarios were talked about. But then he came out, same song, same close.
And I see a lot of comments online from people going, yeah, I understand it. I understand why he's doing that.
But I would have preferred if he changed his song. I would have preferred if he changed things up.
Guys, that's the point.
If you are upset enough about it to publicly comment on the internet, that is the reaction that a heel would want.
If you're upset that he didn't change his song, if you're upset that, oh, we didn't get something new.
That's the point.
That is the ultimate heel move.
It's kind of like it reminds you the Game of Thrones quote.
give them something by giving them nothing.
Right?
He's giving us something.
He's telling us a story by changing nothing.
And the promos he's been cutting the last two weeks,
and I'm sure we'll see another promo
because John Cena is announced for Raw this Monday.
What we've been seeing these last two weeks
kind of reminds me of how someone would act after a breakup.
Like all the things that you tolerated
during the relationship, as soon as you break up with that person, you go, you know what?
You would never put the cap back on the toothpaste and that always bothered me.
Or something like, man, you know, your mom said that one thing about me that one time when we went to dinner at her house and you never stood up for me.
Like all these little things start to come out.
That's what this reminded me up.
Like John Cena is basically going like, yeah, when you used to like boo me or you used to like swear at me or you guys,
not mad at me when he brought the, he brought the whole thing about the spinner title. You were
so upset about the spinner title and I just like, I'm paraphrasing here obviously, but I just sat
there and took it. And it just reminds me of that idea of like when you're in a relationship,
you're like, yeah, like I'll ignore some of the bad because the good, the good outweighs the bad.
But then if things end, especially if they end on a sour note, you go, and you know what?
you were never as good in bed as I pretended that you were.
Like little things like that just like to jab the knife in.
That's kind of what this reminds me of.
Like all the things that like John Cena was bottling up these emotions for the last 20 years.
Like, you know, there was a time and I'm just making this up.
But there was a time, man, in 2011 when I wish that I could have said F you and I didn't.
And I just kept to my values because I'm a virtuous.
individual. And I just think that there's, everything that John Sina is saying right now makes sense
for the John Sina character and why the John Sina character would be upset about that. Still haven't got
an answer about why he sided with the Rock. Like, when does the Rock come back into this picture?
It's only a few weeks before WrestleMania. When does the Rock become part of this? Does the Rock become part of
this. Like, I think that people were thinking that this was going to be some sort of a faction. I don't
know where the, this was never stated anywhere publicly, but people keep saying, who's the third man?
Who's the third man? There was never talk about there being a third man. There could very well be one,
but this isn't like an official thing that there's going to be some sort of third man added to this.
This isn't some sort of faction that the rock is building. I feel like the rock was just the vehicle
that was used to have John Sina turn heel.
The final boss character,
one of the biggest heels in the company.
Well, what happens if John Sina sides with the final boss?
Well, that instantly makes him a heel,
especially when he turns on the biggest baby face in the company.
That all makes sense.
I've seen the critiques that John Sina's promos
haven't been that good because he hasn't gone after Cody.
He hasn't done the typical John Sina thing
where he verbally eviscerates his opponent.
But I think that people are missing the point here.
Cody isn't the target.
John Sina isn't mad at Cody Rhodes.
John Sina is angry with the crowd.
He's angry with the fans.
He's angry with the way that he was treated
all of those years when it was,
Let's go Sina.
Seda sucks.
That's what he's mad about.
The issue here with Cody
is that Cody is standing in the way of what he wants,
which is the WWE championship
and his record-breaking 17th championship.
Because as John Sina said,
John Sina winning number 17 is what's best for business.
So if you're looking for these very personal promos
like we got especially with like Rock Sina,
like things got real personal with those,
if that's what you're looking for here,
I don't think you're going to get it.
maybe they'll tease it a little bit because we still got a handful of promos before
WrestleMania at 41. But I think the point here is this is not, at least right now,
they're not setting this up as it's John Sina super angry with Cody Rose. This is John Sina
who was on a mission. John Sina wants to win number 17. And the person that has that right now is
Cody Rhodes. That's really what this match is about, at least right now.
If the storytelling starts to change there, that'll be another thing that will cross that bridge when we get to it.
But as of right now, this is very much like a John Sina after this goal.
That's the whole thing here.
Brian Wozniak emailed this one in.
Hey, CVV, real, real one here.
Longtime listener, first time emailer.
Thank you for taking the time to send this email, Brian.
With all the talk about John Sina's opponents for his farewell tour this year,
the one question I have is where do you think his final match will take place?
I'm from Chicago and was at the Smackdown at the Allstate Arena in 2002 when Sina debuted
against Kurt Angle. So for me personally, for it to come full circle with his career,
I would love to see his last match here as well. Historically speaking, for the last few years,
Chicago has hosted live events in the last week or two of the year. So it does line up with
Sina saying that he's done for good in December. Boston or New York, I could potentially
seen as other choices, but what are your thoughts? Thanks, Brian Wozniak. Well, the Allstate Arena is
obviously a great spot. So many iconic things have happened not just there, but in Chicago as a whole,
I don't know this for a fact, but I would have to think that John Cena's final match is happening
at the Boston Garden. The TD Garden, I believe, is what it's officially called now.
This is, like, there's no WWE event on the calendar after Survivor, after Survivor
series. So I think this would be maybe a Saturday night's main event, maybe. Maybe this is its own
special one-off PLE event that is sold to the highest bidder. Because that's, that's an interesting
thing to think about. Like if they create a special one-night event and call it whatever you want
to call it, call it, I've seen some rumors online, call it ruthless aggression, call it John Cena's
final match, whatever you're going to call it. You can put this.
whole thing together and you can pitch this to, hey, Netflix, would you like this for whatever
price it's going to be? Hey, USA Network. Is this something you'd be interested in? Hey, NBC, you air Saturday
night's main event. Is this an event that you'd like to see? I think that that's what's going to end up
happening here. This is going to be a one-off special thing. This isn't going to be, I think there was a lot of
talk last year after John Cena announced this at Money in the Bank. Oh, is this last match going to be
at a Survivor Series? Or is it going to be a, a, a,
a PLE, I don't think that's going to be the case.
I think this is going to be a special one-off thing.
And for John Cita to not end his career in his hometown or the nearest city to his hometown,
that wouldn't make sense.
I feel like John Cina has a lot of say in what's been going on with his retirement tour.
And I would just have to think that Massachusetts is going to be the place where this happens.
Don't know that for a fact.
and of course things will start to unfold more as we get through some more storylines here,
WrestleMania, then into SummerSlam and then into everything after that.
But that's what I would have to think.
I think we're looking, these are just guesses.
I'm literally just talking off the top of my head here.
But I would think this is a few weeks before Christmas.
It's a Saturday night, maybe it's Saturday night's main event, but it's got to be
in Boston. That's my guess.
Kirby Reichel
on Instagram says,
I'm a CVV real one from start
to finish.
Appreciate you, Kirby. Once John Cena
becomes a record-breaking 17-time
champ, do you think he'll bring back the spinner
belt like Cody Rhodes did at
Saturday night main event? In 2005,
the fans weren't so thrilled, as he
said. What do you think? Also,
jellybellies are the Easter candy
of choice, except for black licorice
flavor, of course. That's a no for
me, dog. I'm with you. Love jelly bellies. Love jelly beans. Have definitely eaten far too many candies
this year. I also think I misspoke when I was talking about RVV and what her favorite Easter
candy is. She loves jelly beans, but I somehow forgot that she has like a real love for Reese peanut
butter eggs. They're incredible. Her birthday was on Monday. She shares a birthday with The Undertaker.
by the way, March 24th.
I bought her like the big family size bag,
and she was kind enough to give me one or two.
But that is the go-to Easter candy.
And she's one of the, man, she's going to kill me for saying this.
She's one of those absolute psychopaths
that think the black jelly beans taste good.
Pardon me?
What?
I think if we're ranking jelly bean
flavors slash colors here, black licorish has got to be at the bottom of the list, right?
Like, if I put out a poll right now of what is the worst jelly bean flavor, the black
licorish one is got to be, that's going to win the poll every single time.
I like the white, like the, what is it?
Like is Pinia colotta?
Jellybelly does that one?
Although they also do the popcorn flavor, which is so good as well.
We're going off on a completely different rabbit hole here.
But great. Jellybellies, your Easter can you of choice? Excellent. Excellent choice.
I think that if slash when John Cena wins 17, if he wins it as a heel, if it happens at
WrestleMania, it just feels like it fits the character for him to come out, not just like
on a one-off thing where he has the belt like Cody did with the winged eagle Saturday night's main
event. I think that it would make sense for John Cena to hold that all the way through his title
rate. And then it serves two purposes. One, it's the nostalgia hit. I say it all the time,
but nostalgia is a hell of a drug. So you got the nostalgia hit of like, oh, man, he's carrying around
the title. That reminds me of when he held the title, you know, 15 years ago. And I think that
there's something about that. Two, fans despise the spinner title. They treat it like the black
licorice flavored jelly beans, right? So John Cena, not only wearing the spinner title, but actually
spinning it, I think would drive fans insane, which is what a heel would want you to feel.
So I think that that's another component of it. And on top of that, it's another excuse to sell
merchandise. And WWE is all about marketing and moving merchandise and making money off of that
stuff. So I feel like it just hits on all of those different levels. So yeah, I think that it's something
that we see again. I think that you get, you get the iconic shot of John Sina holding up the current
championship design. But then if I'm the one who's fantasy booking this, I think John Sina then
wears the spinner title for however long that title reign happens to be. That's just my two cents here.
I feel like it makes sense. Gabriel underscore.
Uribe underscore 22 on Instagram says,
do you think punk versus Rollins versus Reins will main event one of the nights of
WrestleMania?
Big fan of your podcast, by the way.
Well, thank you, Gabriel.
I appreciate that.
Sure feels like with everything right now,
we are lining up to that being the main event for night one.
And then Cody versus John Cena being the main event for night two.
Of course, things could change and we don't have all of the matches locked in.
right now, but when we look at the matches, I'm going to run down what is, I guess,
I guess these are official. These are the matches that we have right now. Cody versus John
Sina. Tiffany Stratton versus Charlotte Flair. Gunther versus Jay Uso. Eoske or Ria Ripley versus
Bianca Bel Air. Randy Orton versus Kevin Owens, Roman Raines versus CM Punk versus Seth Rollins.
It feels to me like that's the match.
that ends night one. And then, of course, Cody and Sina night two. Hard to say, though,
because that's only six matches that I've listed off. There's been a lot of other ones that have been
teased, a lot of other ones that I feel like over the next week or two will have a much clearer
picture. But how many did we have last year at WrestleMania? Last year, we had 14 matches,
seven on each night. So with that in mind, we've got a long way to go here. Only,
only six, call them official matches right now. So that means there's eight more that are kind of
in the ether and cooking. So it'll be interesting to see what happens there. But I don't see
any of those potential matches being more interesting than that three-way match. And then it's
funny that this will end up being another Roman Rain's main event. And if that is the case,
it's continuing this long tradition.
I listed this off a few weeks ago,
but it's worth doing again now.
Roman Raines has main evented,
and we're going to go from last year backwards from here.
He made evented WrestleMania 40,
WrestleMania 39,
WrestleMania 38,
WrestleMania 37,
not WrestleMania 36,
not WrestleMania 35,
but WrestleMania 34,
WrestleMania 33,
WrestleMania 32. So like, so that 32 was his first WrestleMania main event. So if we're going
all the way back there, there have been a lot of Roman Raines main events. Like you want to talk
about Sean Michaels being Mr. WrestleMania. Over the last decade, Roman Raines, like him or not,
really has been the guy. Like he has been the one mainstay when you think about WrestleMania and
you think about WrestleMania main events. So,
maybe there's an outside chance, outside chance, maybe of it being Randy Orton and Kevin Owens,
but I really feel like it's going to be the three-way match.

Zachy Christ on Spotify says,
been listening to your podcast for the past few months. It's the only podcast I regularly listen to
week by week. Thank you. I appreciate that. Man. Listening to you and many wrestlers talk about life
and wrestling has really motivated me to live my best life. I've been thinking of working out and
striving to put my body in the best shape that I can. I'm 27 years old and I haven't worked out
since middle school. What are some tips slash advice slash motivation that you can give someone to like,
that you can give to someone like me.
Much love and respect from Texas.
Well, thank you for taking the time to write in, Zach.
I think doing anything at all is going to be better than doing nothing.
Like, start where you're at is always the thing that I like to say.
So like, start where you're at.
If you're not moving your body at all, start where you're at.
Start with some walks.
Like start by like walking 20 minutes a day.
Maybe work that up to half an hour or an hour.
But like, that's the first thing.
I would do, like just start to move your body. Also, you can outwork a bad diet. So, like, the really
obvious things with your diet, like cut out soda. Like, that's a huge thing. Cut out as much sugar
as you can. Start to increase the amount of protein that you eat. And then, like, if you're talking
about actually going to the gym and working out, and like you said, get into the best shape of your
life, like start small, start going to the gym twice a week. And that'll be two days more a week
than you're currently going right now. And like, like, don't try to go zero to a hundred like,
like hit it as hard as you possibly can. Like just get in there and get your body used to like lifting
some weights again. So like, don't go in there and be like, oh man, well, I've got to do four,
sets of 10 of this thing. And I've got to, I'm going to hit chest and try it. And I've got to, I'm going to hit chest and
tries today. So it's four different exercises with chest and four different exercises with tries.
Like, just start where you're at and like just get in there. And like doing something is going to be
infinitely better than doing nothing. And like super like little things. If you're just looking to
cut weight to anybody that's listening to this right now, cut out any beverage from you,
from what you drink in a day that's not water or coffee or tea. Like that will just make a
a huge change right off the bat.
Like cut out the energy drinks, cut out the soda, cut out the juices, especially, like a lot of
calories and sugar in that.
Cut out those things.
And like just start to make the little changes along the way.
And you'll start to see some like major results.
But like also be realistic with yourself.
Like just because you went to the gym for a week doesn't mean you should step on the scale and like
see a massive change.
Oh my gosh.
I've lost 15 pounds.
like be realistic about it. If you're losing one and a half to two pounds a week every single
week, you are trending in the right direction because after three months, which will be like
12ish weeks, you'll be down like 15ish, 20ish pounds if you're consistently losing like one to two
ish pounds a week. So like just just be like celebrate the little wins along the way, but also be
realistic about it. Like, be proud of yourself too. Like, I'm in the gym. I'm doing it. I wasn't doing
it before, but I'm doing it now. And just know that you got this. Like the little, the little changes
are going to go a long way when you compound them on themselves. Tom McHavits,
incredible book by James Clear, but he talks about that idea of like being consistently good
all the time, like just constantly chipping away is much better than being great once.
So just that's one thing to keep in mind.
Jason Officer sent this email in.
Says, Hey, Chris, my two boys, Trenton, 9, and Braxton 6, and I are big fans of the podcast.
Real, real ones.
Listening to it together has become a special part of our weekend routine.
Well, hey, guys, I know you're listening right now.
So thank you.
I appreciate you.
I have a couple questions for you.
Would you consider creating video versions of Ask CVV?
and do you have any plans to interview Pat McAfee this year?
What is your take on what he brings to commentary?
Thank you for considering my questions.
Best regards, Jason.
Well, thank you for sending that in.
Thank you for listening.
Trenton, Braxton, Jason, hello.
I don't have any plans.
I'm putting out video versions of Ask CVV, at least not right now.
But you know what they say in wrestling?
Never say never.
So maybe one day, possibly, but it would literally just be me.
sitting at a desk talking. It's very visually unstimulating. Also, the main reason I don't have a
video version of this is because I want this to be special. I want Ask CVV to be special for all of
the real, real ones who listen to all of the episodes, and especially the ones who listen to
this one on Fridays and listen all the way until the very end. Like, I want this to be a unique
experienced. Tuesday and Thursday, we've got the guests, and it's about telling their story,
and it's about learning from them. Fridays are about me and you hanging out. And I kind of,
in my mind, treat the Ask CVV episodes as like a thank you to people who have been riding
with me and some of you guys for a long time, but people who are interested in just listening to
these where it's just me and you hanging out. And I feel like there's something special about
me talking directly into this microphone and this sound, my words, going directly into your ear.
And it is like a, it's just me and you. And that's it. And I feel like by making a video version
of this and putting it out on YouTube, for example, opens it up to people who might not be
fans of the show, which I guess could be a good thing as well. But I feel like it's, it's like,
it's just a reward for like everybody who's been riding with me for this long. It's my way of saying,
like, this is a special time for us. This is our chance to just me and you hanging out,
hang out together. So yeah, maybe, maybe one day, but certainly not something I'm looking into.
Pat McAfee is awesome. I would love to have him on the show. I think it might be. It might be
might be possible this year. He's obviously an incredibly busy guy with everything that he has going on.
Like, I don't know how he balances it all. And he's a father as well, a new father with his little girl.
I don't know how he balances having the Pat McAfee show and then flying to Raw wherever it is.
Like, you know, doing the Pat McAfee show in Indianapolis, then flying to Europe to be there live
for Raw to then fly back and then do stuff with ESPN. When the season's happening, he's doing stuff
with college game date, like he has so much stuff going on.
Although, Pat, if you're listening to this, I just need an hour or so of your time.
That's it.
And we just talking about wrestling for an hour or so.
To answer the second part of that question, I think what Pat McAfee brings to commentary
is so fresh and it feels so genuine and authentic.
You can tell he's a real fan.
You can tell he's like a lifelong fan with some of the references.
that he throws in there.
And he's also just so effortlessly funny.
And I think what's cool about what he does with commentary reminds me a little bit of what
Jerry Lawler did, like a much more PG version of what Jerry the King Lawler would do.
But like, he's kind of the voice of the people.
Like King would often just state the obvious thing that like fans were thinking.
And I feel like that's what Pat McAfee does as well.
Like he says the thing that we're all thinking.
and we kind of go, oh, man, I don't know if I can say that out loud.
And boom, out of nowhere, he says the thing that we're thinking.
And if it wasn't for Pat McAfee joining the commentary team, we wouldn't have this version
of Michael Cole.
Like, we all have Pat McAfee to thank for what we have now with Michael Cole.
Like, I've been a Michael Cole fan for a long, long time.
And I understand that with Vince McMahon in his ear, we would.
weren't getting the best version of Michael Cole. But Pat McAfee has brought out this just carefree,
happy version of Michael Cole, who's like the passion that Michael Cole has for pro wrestling and
for commentary has been reignited because of the fun that he's able to have just bouncing off of
Pat McAfee. And if you are a wrestling fan in 2025 and you don't appreciate how,
good Michael Cole is at his craft, then you and I cannot be friends. I'm sorry. Like Michael Cole
is amazing at what he does. And I think there's too many people that still revert back to like
that image of Michael Cole wearing the orange singlet and the whole storyline around his
WrestleMania match. Undefeated at WrestleMania, by the way. But I think they revert back to like,
oh, man, that Michael Cole is so annoying. Like, yeah, maybe that character, like that version,
of Michael Cole that we were being presented at that point in time. Maybe he was, but Michael Cole now
is just in a completely different league with the way that he's able to bring emotion to the moments
and all kinds of different emotions. Like, he's able to be excited. He's able to bring it down and it gets
very like almost on the verge of like, you got tears in your eyes because it's that kind of emotion.
Michael Cole is so, so good at what he does,
and I think that we owe Pat McAfee a lot because of that.
So them together, Pat McAfee and Michael Cole together,
very, very good on commentary.
Evan Walsh emailed this one in.
Hey, Chris, listening to the podcast for two years,
and I can say that I am a real one.
Thank you.
Thank you for getting me through my days at work.
That Chris Bay story is so moving and inspirational.
couldn't agree more. One of my favorite interviews that I've ever done. And a huge thank you to Chris
Bay for being as open as it was about everything there. My question is with WWE announcing another
European tour. They're on the road to clash in Paris with Smackdown doing a live show in Dublin
for the first time ever. Do you think that we finally see Seamus getting the IC title and becoming
a grand slam champion? I really hope so. I'm going to my first ever live TV event in London for
Smackdown and I cannot wait to see CM Punk blow the roof off of the O2 arena. If WWE goes international
for PLEs, do we see a live podcast in that city? I'd really hope so. Thank you from Evan Walsh and Galway,
Ireland. Well, I think that it's just a matter of when, not if. It's a matter of when
Seamus wins that intercontinental championship. And I feel like it's going to be a big moment.
So if this is not a
WrestleMania moment,
and I feel like we had the opportunity
to do that at WrestleMania 39,
that would have been a really good opportunity,
but obviously the story went the way that it did.
It's going to be a big moment.
This isn't going to just be some throwaway thing.
So if it's not like a WrestleMania type of thing,
Ireland would be the perfect place for this to happen,
obviously, you know, for the most obvious reasons.
So I think it's, like he just announced
a few months ago that he signed a five-year contract extension, which he'll have him wrestling
into his 50s. There is no question that Seamus is going to win the Intercontinental Championship
at some point in time over the next five years and then become the ultimate Grand Slam champion.
So yeah, I could see this happening. If I had to put a timeline on, I could see this happening over the
next year. And there's no question that he's deserving of this. So I would love to see this happen.
I would also love to bring a live show.
Like I said at the top of the show,
I would love to bring a live episode of Insight to the UK.
I know you guys would pack the house.
I know you would be so loud.
I would love to make this happen.
So we've already got the PLE.
If we're just talking in Europe here,
we've got Clash in Paris.
Could we do it there?
Maybe.
Possibly.
Hopefully.
But if we do like London would be,
I feel like that one would make a lot of sense.
If there's a PLE in London, I don't want to get too much into the inner workings of how these live shows work because I've only done three of them.
I'm still figuring out as we go.
We have two more on the way, obviously.
But it seems like what works best is if we do this the day before a big PLE, which is why we had so much fun in Indianapolis, which is why we had such a blast in Toronto, which is why we are going to blow the roof off of the place.
in Vegas and also New York City right before SummerSlam.
So if WWE announces a PLE somewhere in the UK,
say there's a good chance that we could do a live show there.
I don't want to promise anything here.
I would love to make it happen.
It's a very long flight from Los Angeles to London.
It's almost 12 hours, which I don't care.
I love flying.
But if we can make everything work with the right venue,
and the right guest in the right city,
then hell yeah, it's a no-brainer.
No-brainer.
James Cooper on Facebook says,
what did you think of WWE's list
of the biggest WrestleMania returns?
So if you didn't see this,
I shared it on social media.
They ranked the top 25
WrestleMania returns of all time.
Number one on that list
was Cody Rhodes,
WrestleMania 38.
Hardy Boys, number two,
WrestleMania 33,
Ultimate Warrior,
WrestleMania 8.
Then we got Undertaker
at number four,
WrestleMania 20.
Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth
reunite,
WrestleMania 7.
I guess I should go through
at least the top 10 here.
Number six, John Sina,
Russellmania 35,
number seven, the NWO,
WrestleMania 31.
Number eight, LOD, 2000.
WrestleMania 14.
Number nine, Stone Colt, Steve,
Austin.
in WrestleMania 38 and number 10, The Undertaker,
WrestleMania 40.
Don't get me wrong.
Cody Rhodes returning at WrestleMania 38 had a massive impact on the wrestling industry as a whole.
It was also kind of the worst kept secret in wrestling.
Like Seth Rollins had the mystery opponent going into it,
a lot of chatter about it being Cody Rhodes.
Then wrestling has more than one royal family.
massive pop for Cody Rhodes.
Match of the night.
I think you can't argue that.
One of the best matches of the year.
But I think there's a little bit of recency bias
when you're talking about that.
Because if we are, and I guess it depends on
what the criteria is for quote unquote
biggest WrestleMania returns of all time.
But I think when you're talking about
just sheer surprise and sheer pop,
it's got to be the Hardy Boys at WrestleMania 33.
Like no one saw that coming.
I don't think people knew that their contract with Ring of Honor was up.
They wrestled a Ring of Honor show the day before.
So for them to come in, get snuck into the building,
it's so cool watching the behind the scenes video of it,
the deafening pop of their music hitting.
For me, that's the number one.
That's one of the greatest returns just in wrestling, period, one of.
But I think that when people start to look at lists like this and then they start to nitpick like,
oh, man, you got Shane McMahon at number 13 and it's above, you know, it's above Jim Ross at number 18.
It's like, well, now you're getting nitpicky.
Like when when people are like, man, you had, you had the rock at number 14, WrestleMania 31,
that should have been more like number 17.
Like, that's just, like, you're just splitting hair to that point.
I think what you should really be focused on is like top five or top 10.
Are there like some glaring omissions from those?
And I think that, yeah, the order of some of these could be changed a little bit here and there.
But like this top 10's pretty solid.
But for me, in my opinion, Hardy Boys has got to be the biggest return of WrestleMania as a whole.
But I watched that back and I was there live for it.
I watched that back, especially watched it back in January right before I interviewed both Matt
and Jeff individually.
And I still get goosebumps.
It's one of those moments that I still get goosebumps.
So that's the number one for me.
But the other ones in there, like, I think people are just crazy when they're like,
well, man, Yoko Zuna's number 19.
And he's somehow above Roddy Piper at 24.
Like, they made the list.
they made the list.
Like that's the bigger thing to focus on here.
And that leads us so perfectly here
into this one from Caden underscore Wentz
on Instagram.
Hey, CVV, a real, real one here.
What do you think is the best return of all time?
So I think, again, it depends on what your criteria is
when you're factoring this in.
I think, and this is setting aside recency bias,
This is just talking as a whole.
I think CM Punk's return is the biggest one of all time.
Because no one expected CM Punk to return to WWE.
There was so much bad blood there with him walking out of the company being so upset with
Vince McMahon.
There was clear animosity with him in Triple H.
Like he had said a lot of things publicly about Triple H.
I think that it just didn't feel like the,
it felt like the bridge was burned.
And it felt like it was not possible for CM Punk
to ever return to WWE.
Sure, he had done that thing with Fox
and like there was a little bit of a relationship there.
He was doing his thing on that show.
It was called WWE backstage.
But it just felt like, certainly at that point in time,
It felt like CM Punk wasn't going to return to wrestling, period.
But I guess there was like, there was an olive branch, if you will.
But it just felt like for CM Punk to return as a full-time WWE wrestler,
it just didn't seem like it would happen.
And then the way that they did it, like, there are not a lot of secrets in wrestling anymore,
especially in the era that we currently are in with,
the internet and social media, there are very few surprises in wrestling.
And the way that they swerved us, like Survivor Series came to an end.
The logo went up on the screen.
A lot of people turned off the TV.
And then CM Punk's music hit.
Like the way that they did it, I think also, like it just adds to the moment so much more.
But I will say that CM Punk's return to WWE.
isn't possible without CM Punk's return to wrestling, period. And I feel like because of how
monumental that moment was at Survivor Series War Games, 23, in Chicago, I feel like him just
returning to wrestling and making his AEW debut, which was CM Punk's return to wrestling,
I feel like it gets overshadowed.
And it doesn't get talked about enough
because if it's not for CM Punk going to AEW,
it feels unlikely that a few years later,
CM Punk would return to WWE.
And also what's not talked about
with CM Punk's AEW debut
is the fact that the world was just in such a weird place
at that point in time.
It was August of 2021,
and right up until that point,
we were still in like these weird restrictions.
Like there was still a lot of like the social distancing was still going on.
There was still a lot of masks.
This was one of the first full attendance arena shows that had happened in any sport.
I think there had been a few boxing matches in Florida.
But this was like one of the first fully attended show in an arena sold out.
And I feel like his music hitting was kind of like,
it was kind of like saying to everybody, hey, the world's normal again.
Like we're able to like stand next to somebody and not have to like be six feet away from them.
And I feel like after everything that had happened in the world from March of 2020,
all the way here until August of 2021, it was like,
finally like, oh, wrestling's back.
Because up until that point, I mean, I remember going to
WrestleMania 37 just a few months before that
and sitting
sitting next to cardboard cutouts
in Tampa.
So like to
come from cardboard cutouts
and like certain sections at other wrestling
shows like being completely blocked off
so that we could have social distancing,
from that a few months prior
to now a sold out arena,
boom.
we're seeing and hearing the impossible of CM Punk's music hitting,
there was something that was very special about that,
which then, two years later,
allowed the return to WWE to happen.
So that's my opinion.
I think that there's a lot of great returns in wrestling,
but for me, that's the one,
just because of also the landscape of just wrestling.
Like, Cody's return to WWE,
where it's Cody,
he's the American Nightmare TM, like his trademarked phrase.
He has the, his logo, he has the same entrance music that he had in AEW,
like the same presentation that he had in AEW, just pick that up and move it over to
WWE.
That was something that really wouldn't have been done in the Vince McMahon era.
So for that to happen, for them to not go, hey, you can come back, but you can't be the
American Nightmare and that downstate song's pretty catchy, but we got to go with something in
house. All of these are like dominoes on the same track, and I feel like the CM Punk return is also
part of that as well. So that's it for me. That's my pick. This is an email from Patrick, and it leads us
into my favorite part of Ask CVV. It is the valiant return of my beautiful, incredible, incredible,
incredible wife, RVV. It is Ask RVV, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back, honey. Thank you. So good to be here.
We haven't seen you. I looked it up since Ask CVV-65. What are you been doing? Just been a little busy.
Really? Yeah. Doing what? I don't know. Goofing around. Yeah, we've got a three-month-old and
22-month-old. It feels weird. Like she's so old, we shouldn't be counting in months anymore, I feel like.
People stop counting in months once they hit two just because the difference between like a 13-month-old and a 22-month-old is so severe in developmentally physically that once they hit two, that's when people stop saying months, most people.
Because I guess she's technically one, but like she's so, like you said, so far beyond like what a 12-month-old would be.
All right, let's get to the email here.
You guys don't care about the age of our kids in months.
Ask RVV.
Greetings and salutations from Germany.
Well played, Patrick.
I like that.
Hey, Chris, I'm a real, real one from Germany,
and I've listened to your podcast for quite some time.
For your upcoming episode of Ask RVV,
which is Ask CVV76, as you said here.
I've got a personal question for your wife.
Oh, my goodness.
How personal is this going to be?
I don't know.
You can be sweat a little, Patrick.
Rachel, what is your favorite thing to do
in your free time with your kids when
Chris is at home. All the best to you and your family from a proud three-time dad. And Chris,
may I also ask you for a favor? Would you be so kind as to leave a shout out to the greatest
German wrestling podcast, Schwitzkastin? The two guys, Nicholas and Lucas, will be publishing their
300th episode soon. Congratulations to you guys. All the best to them from Fear Papa, which is
Fire Dad in English. I'm just reading all this. I thank you both so much. And
hope to welcome you overseas anytime soon. Well, first of all, congratulations to
Schwitzkastin. I hope I'm saying that right. Schwarz, what do you think I'm saying it right?
It sounds about schvitzkasten. Sure. I hope I said all the German words there correctly. But to the
more important thing here, honey, what is your favorite thing to do in your free time with the kids
when Chris is at home? So like all of all four of us together? I think what we've been doing recently,
there is a lovely park near us that has a train that you can ride throughout the park.
And Logan just loves it. Cooper's not really at the age where he's enjoying much of anything yet.
So anything that we like to do in our free times based around the kids is something that Logan would really enjoy doing.
And she loves going to ride the train and looking all around the park at all the animals and really anything that we can do to get her outside.
We like to call her our little free-range chicken.
When she's a little free-range chicken and just running around outside, she is the happiest.
She is having the most fun.
And I feel like she's learning so much during that time, too.
So those are my favorite things to do.
Just basically get her, get Logan outside.
So all four of us is, yeah, lucky if we can do that.
And for anybody that's listening in the Orange County area, in the Southern California area, we're talking about Irvine Park.
And they have the Irvine Park Railroad.
They also have a zoo in there that's $2.
$2.
So we've been to that zoo a lot.
And the interesting thing about this, Patrick, is, and you know this because you said in your email that you're a dad, your interests and what you spend your free time doing is vastly different when you become a parent, vastly different.
So our free time is now spent, yeah, like it's running around parks or it's going to ride a kitty train or it's or even 20 minute beach trips.
We've recently found that just going, not making it a whole day event, but just taking her to the beach for 20, 30, 40 minutes is like a game changer for her attitude and her happiness and activity.
Just running around in the sand for 20 minutes changes her whole day.
What would what would be your favorite thing to do if it was just me and you hanging out and Gammy was looking after the kids?
Eat sleep, maybe.
Eat some pizza.
But it's a, although we're going to go to an NHL game soon.
We're going to go to a Ducks game.
It's like 10-ish minutes from where we live.
So that'd be fun.
Baseball season is about to start up.
I love going to baseball games.
Yeah.
Maybe Savannah bananas this year.
The Savannah bananas are on tour.
They're coming to Angels Park, which is also very close to where we live.
So we got to go to that one.
Maybe we'll get another Yankee Dodger World Series this year we can go to.
We did go to the World Series.
We went to game two last year.
So right after the big Freddie Freeman walk off home run.
Oh, my goodness.
Incredible.
We went to the next game.
Rachel's a Yankees fan, so we don't need to talk about what happened in that game.
But yeah.
Ouch.
But it was fun to be there.
All right.
There's another one.
Another Ask RVV for you.
Dan Martinez on Facebook says, hey, CVV and RVV.
what are you guys watching on TV these days?
We are currently finishing off this season of White Lotus,
which has been much more interesting than the trailers led us to believe.
Yeah, and anybody who's watching White Lotus,
you know that the season finale is this Sunday,
and there's a lot of buildup to this.
This has been my favorite season.
We've seen all three seasons of White Lotus,
but this has been the most intriguing season, in my opinion.
I agree.
I think so.
I felt like the other ones,
even though they were unpredictable, it was a little, a little predictable.
This one is very much has me thrown for a loop.
We don't turn our TV on very often in here, unless we're watching kids videos.
Danny Go is a kid's YouTuber, kids musician.
He has some very catchy songs.
Danny Go gets played a lot in our house.
And our daughter, Logan, I'll be like, Denigo, musica Denny Go.
Danny Go is also a godsend on Spotify.
If you're driving with your kids in the car and you need some like kids' music that is actually entertaining and enjoyable to listen to and not just, you know, lullabies and the typical 20 songs you grew up with, it's such a nice change of pace.
Now I'm a little sick of it, but we're on like a full year of Danny Go songs at this point.
They're so catchy.
So really the only thing that's actually on our TV is Danny Go, Miss Rachel, if you are a parent, you know what we're.
we're talking about, and then wrestling.
And that is it.
And during football season, we get, we get to watch some football.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sometimes.
Maybe not a full game, but we watch some football.
So that's basically what we're watching.
We're not like, we're not die hard TV watchers, I think, to begin with.
And the fact that we don't really have a ton of free time these days doesn't really help
that.
We only maybe have 30 minutes to an hour in the evening by ourselves before we want to go to bed.
We're pretty much early birds when it comes to bedtime.
And this right here, right now what we're doing, this is nice.
It's just two of us hanging out in my office here.
Well, Logan's probably up from her nap, right?
I mean your recording studio, of course.
Yes, yes, the multimillion-dollar recording studio.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm standing here holding a microphone plugged into this thing.
He won't even get me my own microphone yet.
I have another microphone over there.
I should probably plug it in so we can both hold one.
But I think it's more fun.
It makes it like a thing that we,
that we're both hanging out together here.
Up close and personal.
All right.
Amazing to have my wife back on the show.
You're the best.
Everybody loves you too.
They love sending in their questions.
And I love getting to learn a little bit about you too.
Oh, wow.
That's nice.
We're going to have to get some more ask RVVV questions.
So send them in.
If you're listening on Spotify, leave a comment there.
Send them on social media or email me.
CVV at chrisfanvely.com.
And we will have Rachel return.
It won't, like it was two months ago.
So we'll make sure that it's much more frequent than that.
But thank you, my love.
You're welcome.
Good to be here.
She's the best.
The best.
You're the best.
RVV ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for all the questions for her.
Jordan on Spotify says, hey Chris, how are you doing? For the past couple of weeks,
I've been wondering something. Who L. Grande Americano is? So do you have any idea?
Great question, Jordan. And this is something I've been wondering for a while. First of all,
Grande Americano is the funniest name. It's basically, it's a Starbucks drink. It's a large
Americano. I don't know if anybody's picked up on that. But there's only a few people it could be.
I mean, it's pretty obvious, right? I'm pretty obvious where they're going with this and what this is.
It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's omas. Like, we haven't seen omas in a while,
what a perfect way to bring back to bring back his character. Now, I, Kathy Kelly tweeted something out that I thought was a
very interesting observation. You can't spell luchador without Chad. How, how have none of
of us picked up on this. But I'm, I'm curious where this storyline goes and what this ends up
leading to. Al Grande Americano, I saw someone was like, you know, this feels like it's the
personification of Cody Rhodes neck tattoos come to life. It's pretty good. It's pretty good.
It's, it's shades of like, Mr. America. And it's like, it brings out a whole other, like,
element of what this could be. It can't be Chad Gable. It can't be because he had a doctor's
know. Like he was legitimately sick, right? Couldn't be him. And also, Chad Gable speaks English and
Granite Americano speaks Spanish. So it couldn't be Chad Gable because of those reasons. But where does it
go from here? I'm guessing this leads to him getting unmasked and going from there. But this is bringing out
another element of Chad Gable.
And I, look, I said it last week.
He's the most underrated person currently working.
He's the most talented person to not have a singles championship.
I think that changes in 2025.
And hopefully this angle leads to that.
Maybe it's Penta wins the Intercontinental Championship.
Then it leads to Grande Americano slash Chad Gable winning it off of him.
I don't know.
But look, put Chad Gable in the ring with any.
anyone, and it's going to be fantastic. So I'm buckled in, and I can't wait to see where this goes.
Robert, I believe that's Peter, P-A-T-E-R. Robert Pater emailed this one in. Hey, CVV, hello from Poland.
You've already interviewed one of my two favorite wrestlers of all time, AJ Stiles. I have a question.
What are the chances of getting a long interview with the second one? The Ms.
Greetings from one father to another, my baby girl just recently turned one year old.
old Robert. P.S., sorry for my poor English. There's no poor English here. This is great English.
Happy birthday to your baby girl, by the way. I would love to have the Mizz on the show.
The Mizz says that he would do the show. Okay, he told me that. It's just a matter of nailing it down.
I live about an hour away from L.A., give or take. Depends on the traffic. Sometimes it's two and a half hours.
Those days are rough. He also lives about an hour from L.A. And I feel like,
he's in the same boat as me when it comes to this.
Like the traffic in L.A.
is atrocious.
So when you don't have to be in L.A.,
you do whatever you can
to not make that drive in there.
So he's like, yes, I will do it.
I would love to be on your podcast.
Just like, we have to figure out the timing here.
So maybe it's after WrestleMania,
but there's a lot to dig into with the Mizz.
I don't feel like an hour is going to be
enough time with the MIS.
And you want to talk
about underrated. I feel like the Miz is just so underappreciated. Like you hand him anything.
And he's the type of guy that'll go, yeah, sure. Yeah, I'll make that good. And I love that about him.
So nothing but respect for the Miz character and Mike himself, nothing but respect. And I've known him for a
long time. I think the first interview I did with the Miz was 2011. That was actually one of the first
interviews that ever really got any sort of traction in my YouTube channel. He was throwing out the
first pitch for the Indians game. That's when they were still called the Cleveland Indians. They're
now the Cleveland Guardians. He was throwing out the first pitch. I went out there as the
entertainment reporter for 19 action news. We did a pretty brief interview. It was like,
I don't know, three or four minutes. But he said two things in that interview that really like got
some traction and like made headlines. He said, one,
He was concussed at the end of WrestleMania 27, and he doesn't remember anything about
main eventing WrestleMania.
That made headlines.
And then, too, he said that the pipe bomb, the CM Punk pipe bomb had just happened.
And he said that it was the most exciting thing to happen in wrestling since the attitude era.
I'm obviously paraphrasing here, but something along those lines.
I put that interview out on YouTube, didn't think anything about it.
I had, I don't know, at that point in time, like a few hundred subscribers, like my mom being one
of them. And I woke up the next day and it had like 6,000 views. And I was like, whoa,
that's crazy. Like what happened? And then I woke up the day after that. It had like 36,000 views.
And I was like, that's insane. Like, this really picked up some steam. And someone somewhere had seen
that Miz had said that, had quoted that, made an article about it.
on some wrestling news site and it spread on there and it spread on some wrestling forums.
And like I got a ton of subscribers from that and like didn't even really know what a subscriber
on YouTube was or what it meant at that point in time. But that was like the first one that really
got some traction. I went, oh, I guess there's some fellow wrestling fans out there. So go look it up.
Go look up that interview on YouTube. And it's funny. Like I'm wearing a suit and he's wearing a
like a Ms. like baseball,
W.WE baseball t-shirt,
go look it up and leave a comment on that video,
real, real one.
And I will know that it's because you heard
this Ask CVV number 76 that led you to that.
So full circle,
14 years later,
it'd be great to do another interview with him.
That wasn't the only interview I did with him.
I've done,
I don't know,
probably half a dozen interviews with Ms.
They've been, you know,
some have been five,
minutes of been 10 or 15 minutes. There's been a lot of them over the years, especially when I was
working in Cleveland. He would come home to see his family in Cleveland, and he would so graciously
pop by the TV station, do a quick interview with me, and then go back to his family for a lot of times
it was Thanksgiving or it was Christmas or it was when WWE was in town. So I was always so appreciative
of him making the time for us. But we haven't been able to do like a long career retrospective
just about everything that he's done. And also just like what makes him tick? Because the odds,
I feel like have been stacked against the Miz his entire career. And he has always found a way
to persevere and get through it. Like so many stories of like the odds being stacked against
Ms. And still somehow he finds a way through to become a WWE champion. Oh, and then to become
a two-time WWE champion. So heal or face, Ms. knocks it out of the point.
park and I'm looking forward to when that one ends up happening. And thank you for sending in that
question. Nicole Ann all the time. Nicole and all the time. Okay, on Instagram. I saw you on
Stephanie's new show interviewing Punk back in the day. Quite a few of you guys sent me a screenshot
of the interview I did with Punk 2014 when he said he would never, ever, ever go back to WWE. And it
played in the Stephanie's Places episode that just recently aired on ESPN Plus.
So quite a few of you guys sent a screenshot or you sent it over here on Instagram.
That was so cool to see.
I had no idea about that.
Like nobody reached out to say, hey, we're going to use that clip.
Is that cool with you?
Yeah, of course it's cool with me.
But nobody reached out to ask that.
So I didn't see the episode either.
So I just started getting tagged in all of these photos and all these tweets and all these
social media posts.
I was like, oh my gosh.
Like, I had no idea.
So Nicole and all the time, thank you for pointing that out and everybody else who tagged me.
Thank you.
Very cool to see that.
ESPN, I don't know if I, not like I signed anything, but ESPN recently reached out to me
and asked if they could use a clip from my John Sina interview for a larger piece on
John Sina that they're putting together.
So keep an eye out for that when that comes out.
I have no idea what the context is about that.
I don't know what the John Cena piece is that they're putting together,
but that was cool of them.
I random email from ESPN saying,
hey, can we use this piece of video and credit you?
Yeah, of course you can.
So I don't know.
It's been, it's been fun.
It's been fun seeing these little moments pop up.
And it's interesting that that first episode of her,
was the return of CM Punk, which just aired,
that ties into the story I was just talking about with,
in my opinion, that being the biggest return in wrestling history.
So I do not, I do not, like,
it's not because of me that that moment happened.
I happened to be there.
I happened to ask CM Punk that question on a red carpet,
which had nothing to do with wrestling.
It was the AP Music Awards in Cleveland.
I was an entertainment reporter for,
for again 19 action news in Cleveland.
He happened to be walking the red carpet.
And I just asked him the question.
I asked him a bunch of other questions too.
But that was how that whole moment came together.
And it's just so interesting that 11 years later,
you can never say never in wrestling.
So really cool to see that.
That's the last one here.

Why? Because I have a job to do with rapid fire takes. So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs
on this notion today. No idea what you're talking about. You're complaining more than you like to breathe
It's like you get up in the morning only to complain and cry and moan on social media about things that you don't even understand.
He's the spitfire of sports smack.
Take advantage of it, but get up in here.
