Starting point is 00:01:23 Please welcome. Carrie, Jack. Carrie, thank you so much for hopping on with us. Yeah, Chris. Appreciate you, brother. Honor to be here. The reason I want to have you on is I think that your story is going to resonate with a lot of people who are listening here. And it's the idea of like, you were doing something, you were making good money doing something that you really didn't enjoy doing.
Starting point is 00:01:48 And it's actually led you to doing what you're doing now. So maybe tell us a little bit about who you are now and the path that you took to get here. Well, now I'm a happy hustler. Before, I was just a hustler. And, you know, I think a lot of people can resonate with debt. trading their time for money, doing things for ego, profit, success. You know, a lot of these main drivers society deems important. And I was no different.
Starting point is 00:02:16 You know, fast forwarding, you know, my childhood wasn't the easiest, but everyone has a story and adversity in it. You know, I actually was always an entrepreneur and just very much into the art of the deal and, you know, trading my services or a product for value transactions. of money. That was something that always interests me. So, you know, I had, initially did it illegally doing things that I shouldn't have been doing. I actually, yeah, got thrown in the slamer, learned the hard way, you know, a little bit, and figured out, hey, I'd rather use my powers of hustling for the greater good, for humanity. And so started operating with integrity and
Starting point is 00:03:04 haven't looked back since. Fast forward again to me actually starting a tech business in New York City. We quantified feedback with this algorithm. And it really started to take shape. You know, it was like, wow, this is like, this could crush. And I was working like a damn dog, you know, 100 plus hour weeks, just grind in my face off getting like roughly five hours of sleep at night, maybe less at times. And we ended up. getting like this big seven figure VC funding deal and ink in partnerships with Microsoft and IBM and all this other like really great stuff was happening. But, you know, the money came with a five year clause, a commitment clause. So you're going to be beholden to the business for the next five years.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And I was like, damn, this is not what I want to be doing. Like I am like this. I cannot do this another five years. I just won't make it. So my brother and business partner and best friend, which is all the same person, he was running the business with me. And we had a very difficult conversation in our shithole apartment in Queens, New York, which we were sharing a bed. And we were, you know, basically saying, hey, like, we got to exit. We can't do this. So we folded the company in 18 months of hard work that went into it. I moved to Bangkok, Thailand, figured out a better way to work and live in alignment, a way to put the happy in my hustle, will you? I was over there for about a year. And that's where the happy hustle was born.
Starting point is 00:04:30 And now, you know, I write about it. I host a podcast about it. I have courses, events, and all the things about achieving blissful balance, both personally and professionally. So, yeah, that's where I'm at now. So what is the definition that you have for Happy Hustle? Happy Hustle is truly about infusing your passion, your purpose to make a positive impact. And I know there are three buzzwords, but truly, if I break it down,
Starting point is 00:04:56 it's doing something, you know, that your inward, you know, heartstrings, your, your calling that is from the divine, I believe, like something greater than ourselves. That's the passion. The purpose is who are you serving, that outward serving mission to then actually make a positive impact. And then all the while being blissfully balanced in the process. That's happy hustling. There's a lot of people who go, man, that sounds great, Carrie.
Starting point is 00:05:24 I'd love to do something for a living and make money, doing something that I love. But I got bills to pay. And I got to keep doing this thing, even though I don't enjoy doing it, even though I hate when that alarm goes off in the morning. I got to do it. I got to pay the bills. What do you say to them? What's the first step they could take towards being a happy hustler? Well, first thing I'll tell them is like, as you know, Chris, I've had to do things that I didn't want to do either.
Starting point is 00:05:50 You know, I wore the banana suit outside two smoothie shops, you know? That's amazing. So you were the guy like honking, get in the cars to honk as they drove by? Not even guys. Like this was more like foot traffic rather than, you know, car traffic. But yeah, I've done all. Was this in L.A.? No, it was in Florida.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yeah. Florida in a banana suit sounds very hot. It sure was, Chris. Yes, it was. I've done all sorts of things in exchange for money. I've sold my body. Yes, you saw probably Magic Mike, this was like a way less choreograph version of that.
Starting point is 00:06:32 You know, I've done all sorts of things. Legal, legal, you know, bartending, you name it. So first thing I'll tell people is like, I've been there. You know, like I've been on the other side of doing something that I don't enjoy for money. And now I've also been on the side where I actually love what I do and I am so grateful that I get paid to do it. I truly believe you have to earn the right to do what you love. You're not going to love everything you do. And that's okay.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Wherever you are right now in your journey, it's okay. Give yourself grace, but want more for yourself, expect more from yourself. Dream bigger, right? Dream, you know, more for yourself, right? That's, I think, the important piece. And then get crystal clarity on truly where you want to be. And then, as you know, reverse engineer the process to get there. find mentors, coaches, you know, a proven roadmap that you can follow and execute upon.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Well, I think that a lot of people get stuck in this mindset, this idea that like, where I am today is where I'm going to be six months from now or a year from now. And it's like, well, yeah, I mean, if you don't change anything, nothing's going to change. Yep. I think a lot of people have a real difficulty dreaming big when the reality of right now feels very small. Yeah, you're right. I think, you know, we oftentimes get caught up in the day-to-day, you know, grind.
Starting point is 00:07:57 As people talk about in business, it's like you get caught up in your business where you don't work on your business. And then 10 years goes by and you're like, damn, I'm still doing the same thing. And my business hasn't grown or anything. You know, so I really think you have to take step back and look holistically at your life and the trajectory of it. Yeah. So like, what was the game changer for you where you went?
Starting point is 00:08:21 no more. I get this this isn't happening anymore. Well, for me, it was in in New York City when I was like realizing just how burnt out I was, you know, and like that's the one thing that I, I really stress for entrepreneurs more than any other concept is like avoid burnout at all cost. And I believe truly balance equals happiness. Like that's something I want on my damn tombstone. Balance equals happiness because if you are blissfully balanced, like, you will be happy. And that was like the catalyst for me. It's like, oh, okay, there's like multiple areas of life. And if I just allocate proper time, energy and, you know, attention to these areas,
Starting point is 00:09:11 I can actually like create my dream reality. And so that was the real catalyst. So with what you're doing right now, like, what are you doing to dream big? Like, you've stepped into a completely different life from what you were doing when you were unhappy. What does it look like now as you look forward? So I have a framework, and maybe we'll even get into it, called the 10 alignments of being a happy hustler. Yeah. I think we should.
Starting point is 00:09:37 That's definitely going to do it for sure. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm happy to go there. But the biggest dream right now for me is I want this 10 alignments framework. I have an analog whiteboard fridge magnet that goes on a refrigerator door that has my framework on it. I want that on every single fridge in America, first and foremost. Then I want it on every fridge in the world.
Starting point is 00:10:00 And the reason I do is because I want to get people off their devices and I want to get them focused on these 10 different areas of life that can truly exponentially increase their happiness and fulfillment. So let's do it. I mean, you talked about us. Let's break it down. What are the 10 alignments? So the 10 alignments, and mind you, they didn't start as this like fully flushed out, you know, framework.
Starting point is 00:10:21 It's been iterated upon. But really, it makes up this acronym. It's called soul mapping. You know, your soul's map to the blissfully bounds promise land. And Chris, if you're, if you're feeling brave, I'd actually like to put you through this assessment. Oh, wow. And as we're doing it, I want everyone out there listening and watching to go through it as well. So if you, if you're driving, maybe.
Starting point is 00:10:44 you know, don't pull out a pen and paper, but if you really want to participate, because I get the most out of podcast like this and content like this is when I'm active participant, not just a passive listener. So I'm going to ask a series of questions, and I want you to actually rank yourself one to five in each of these 10 different alignments. Five is like an A. It's like you're crushing it, right? Like I'm not much for school.
Starting point is 00:11:09 I never was, but I do know the grading scale, right? Five is an A. One is an F like you're failing. You're not happy hustling. So I want you to think back to just in the past 30 days. Like past 30 days, where are you at in each of these 10 different areas? So we'll start with S, which is the first of the 10 alignments, which is selfless service, right? Selfless service.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Are you living for yourself right now? Or are you giving your time, your money, and your expertise to causes in people that you believe it? And just truly take stock, like in the last 30 days, like, you know, where you at? five, you know, you're volunteering regularly. You're giving your time, your money, your exchees, or one. Maybe not at all. So rank where you're at. And Chris, I want you to write down where you're at in this, this first S.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Okay. And then we're going to recap it up yet. Yeah, this is all, this is very like, um, this is like shining a light, you know, like I think a lot of people don't think this way. Okay. So I got my answer here. I hope everybody else did too. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Okay. Yep. Oh, optimized health. It's the next of the alignments. Are you mentally, physically and emotionally optimized? Or are you shoving your pile with, you know, crap food and sodas and candies and all sorts of stuff and your energies and the dumps, cognitive performance tanking? Be straight up with yourself.
Starting point is 00:12:29 You know, be honest right here. Oh, one to five where you at. You unplugged digitally, unplugged digitally. This one I know is tough these days. You know, like we're using our smartphones. for, you know, social media, and then we watch our streaming shows on our TVs, and then we have our Bluetooth headphones, and then we are constantly got our smart watches. And it's like, we have to disconnect from these devices in order to really tap into our true self and our true soul,
Starting point is 00:12:58 you know? And I had Colin O'Brien on the show recently, and, you know, he's known for having the first ever unman or solo mission across Antarctica. And he wrote a new book called The Twelve Hour Walk. And he talks about like this idea of unplugging and just walking for 12 hours. And we talked about how difficult that is. Like, you know, it's a journey inside to go, like, you know, to really connect with yourself. But we kind of start talking about the idea of, like, how we've forgotten how to be bored. Because back in the day, back in the day, you know, 20 years ago.
Starting point is 00:13:32 You used to be standing in line at the DMV and you would just have to like literally like just look around and like signs and like look at people's shoes. Now, the second you get bored, for a lot of people, it's the second you get to a red light, you pull out your phone and you just start scrolling. So I'm not very good on the you. Yeah. Well, and here's the thing. Like, in my framework, I have Happy Hustle hacks to increase your score in each of these.
Starting point is 00:14:02 But for right now, I just want to take stock and do an assessment. So rank where you're at in you. Okay. And then we get to L, which is loving relationships. loving relationships is do you actually have love in your life? Like with your significant other, is there plentiful pleasure? Or maybe is there angst and despair, right? And then think about a little further, your inner circle with your family and your best friends, right?
Starting point is 00:14:26 Rank really where you're at in terms of your loving relationships and, you know, measure one to five. So right now you should have four scores. And Chris, I actually want to, you know, pause the assessment and hear your four scores is your We're in brave. And let's, let's, you want me to add them all together? Not yet.
Starting point is 00:14:44 We'll add them at the end. But yeah, category by category, let's hear S, selfless service, where you have. Three is what I gave myself for S. Could definitely do more. Oh,
Starting point is 00:14:55 I gave myself a five on O because that's been a real priority for me is like prioritizing sleep's been huge for me. I'm not a coffee drinker, so the gym is my boost of energy. Like, let's get to the gym. Let's get the blood flowing. You might have seen this on other podcasts, but I wear a whoop strap and it's, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:13 it's a great wearable technology that tells me how good my sleep was and how much I've, you know, strained and how good my workouts were. So I'm going to give myself a five there. There's room for room, but I feel like I am the healthiest mentally and physically that I've ever been at 39 years old. That's awesome, dude. Feel good about that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:35 For you, you, I gave myself a two. And the only reason it's not a one is because for about the last six months, I've been starting every day by not looking at my phone. I spend the first at least 30 minutes by not looking at my phone because I don't want to be reacting to the text, the emails, the tweets, the Instagram, all of that. I don't want to have to be reacting. I want to be in control, at least for the first 30 minutes. So I'm on my phone a lot. And that's a product of. of what I do for a living. But the only reason it's not a one is because those first 30 minutes,
Starting point is 00:16:14 and I'd say it could be more, but the last 10 or 20 minutes of my day, that sacred time of like I unplug myself at least then. Yeah, awesome. That's great. Yeah, and I actually recommend that tech barrier 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes before bed. So you're right on track with that. And then L, loving relationships. Where'd you measure?
Starting point is 00:16:33 I gave myself a four for that. This is like, cool. It's like a therapy session here. I got you, geez. Dick up. I know, man. The reason I said it was a four is because I just think there's room for improvement.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Like, things are amazing with Rachel, my fiance. And I'm so grateful to have two parents who love each other and have been the amazing example of love and companionship. But I just feel like there's room for more. I could definitely tell my friends, I love you more often. Yeah. Well, and that's the thing. Like, this is a baseline right here.
Starting point is 00:17:06 So give yourself grace throughout the process. but know what you measure you can manage, right? So let's dive into the mapping part. And I hope everyone out there is actually participating and has their first four scores. And now we're going to dive into the last six of the 10 alignment. So the M stands for mindful spirituality, mindful spirituality. Like, are you tapping into a higher power? You know, are you praying, meditating, practicing breathwork, you know, doing something to get still.
Starting point is 00:17:33 And, you know, there's a reason almost all. of the highest performing people in the world do it. So, you know, I've been reading Oprah's book, what I know for sure, which I love is these great little, like two, three page little snippets. Yeah. And she talks so often about like just getting still for 20 minutes a day. And I'm thinking, if Oprah can find 20 minutes, Oprah,
Starting point is 00:17:57 I can find 20 minutes. Oh, yeah, exactly, man, exactly. So right where you're at an M. Okay. Then we got A, abundance financially, abundance financially, like, Oftentimes people think this is the most important one, but it's not. They're all equally important. And you have to truly take stock.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Like, are you living paycheck to paycheck right now in fear of your finances? Or do you have a system that you're saving, investing, and spending wisely, right? So rank where you're at in A, the first P, personal development. You know, are you growing and evolving or are you shrinking and dissolving? Like, those are your choices. Right. That is. That's true.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Yeah. If you're staying in the same spot, you're not moving forward. That's it, brother. And, you know, for me, I do something that's called like the 90 minutes of personal growth system. 30 minutes in the morning, I read, 30 minutes in afternoon. I listen to something educational inspirational. 30 minutes in the evening, I watch something. And I like to use my different senses, you know, both the auditory and the visual to attain knowledge, right?
Starting point is 00:18:56 And that just consistently makes sure I'm growing every day. But rank where you're at in P, personal development. Second P, passionate hobbies. Like, this is one I find the majority. of high performing entrepreneurs specifically are lacking. Because it's like, oh, we're doing all this stuff for our clients and our business and our family, but we don't do fun things for ourselves. Like I know Chris is big into bass fishing.
Starting point is 00:19:18 That would be a passion, a hobby, right? But like, how often are you actually getting out and doing it is the question. You know, and for me, not as much as I used to. Yeah, right? Exactly. So it's like you have to schedule these things that fill you up with joy that fill your cup. And then you can get from your overflow. once you are filling your cup. So rank where you're at in passionate hobbies.
Starting point is 00:19:41 You know, and for me, man, I tell you, like, I have my fly fishing on my calendar. I have, you know, my horseback riding on my calendar, my soccer games on my calendar. They get treated with the same importance as an interview with CVV. You know what I mean? Like that's just it. You know, and so it's so, and I'll get into that because that's like one of the biggest happy hustle principles. But rank where you're at in passionate hobbies. I impact for work.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Like, are you actually, you know, infusing passion, and purpose to make a positive impact, right? And are you, you know, getting up excited to get after it and do what you're doing? Or maybe not so much. Maybe you're in a 9 to 5 in a job that you really dislike or even hate. And, you know, that's okay if it is. Or remember, give yourself grace, but, you know, strive for more. There is a better way.
Starting point is 00:20:30 There's a way to put the happy inner hustle. So rank where you're at an impactful work. And then N, nature connection. Like, truly, are you getting outside and connecting with nature? Are you grounding yourself? Are you getting vitamin D in the wee hours of the morning? Or, you know, are you going for walks? Like you said, the 12-hour walk, like, or swimming in natural bodies of water?
Starting point is 00:20:54 Like, we're so disconnected from our planet. And oh, by the way, are you actually protecting our planet? I looped this in 100%. Like, are you being a conscious consumer voting with your dollar, supporting B corporations and companies with sustainable practices? and supply chains. Like I actually have a whole other eco business called Eco Breakthroughs with my brother and we're fighting the plastic pollution epidemic and we have a really cool eco center that's
Starting point is 00:21:17 upcycling plastic waste. And this is something I'm very passionate about. But ultimately, you know, even just voting with your dollar and making just conscious choices can make a huge impact if we all do it. Right. So rank where you're at right now in Nature Connection. Okay. And you should have now six more scores.
Starting point is 00:21:37 the mapping part. And CVV, let's hear it, man. Where'd you measure up in mindful spirituality? I gave myself a three and a half, which I do breathwork every morning. A lot of people have heard me talk about this. I do Wimhoff breathing every morning, and it's been so hugely powerful. But I could definitely be doing more. I started, I've been doing start and stopping with yoga, which I think would be so much
Starting point is 00:22:01 more beneficial if I stopped doing the stopping part of that. Yep. Yeah. Okay, fair enough. Abundance financially. Where'd you measure up? I gave myself a three there and I feel so grateful that I'm not living paycheck to paycheck. We talked about this before, but I really believe in the principle paying yourself first and like treating it like it's a tax. So as soon as you get paid, whenever that is, whether it's weekly or every other week or bi-monthly, whatever it is, like taking the money out first. And I think a lot of people will do the opposite. They pay all their bills and everything and then see what they have left over.
Starting point is 00:22:39 And I just treat it like a tax. But there's so much more room for abundance there. Yeah. And that's the thing, man. It's like just because you are where you are right now for everyone listening, like, this isn't your like reality long term. This is your snapshot of right now your last 30 days. And that's one thing I want to get into after we.
Starting point is 00:23:04 get your final scores is, you know, this is something that I do every single week. You know, it's not, it's not a one and done type exercise. So I'll get into that. But let's go next with your personal development. Three and a half is what I gave myself there. And like, that's a huge improvement from where it was. Every day, I read every day. I listen to podcasts every day. I'm trying to be a better version of myself today than I was yesterday. But there's so much more room for growth there. But I'm glad that there was a time in my life when I despised reading. And I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that.
Starting point is 00:23:44 And I found that I was just reading things I didn't enjoy. And now I'm reading things that really excite me. And that's been a huge game changer for me. And it's been a big reason why I'm happy to say that, like, I've made a lot of growth from where I was five or ten or twenty years ago. Yeah, 100%. I mean, the thing that I just cautioned people is like reading in it of itself will enhance your knowledge base, but in order to actually increase the quality of your life, you have to apply that knowledge.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Yes. Right. So that's like- Knowledge is in power. Everyone always knowledge is power. Applied knowledge is power. It's what you do with that knowledge. Exactly. Yep. So let's hear where you're having passionate hobbies.
Starting point is 00:24:31 I gave myself a three there because while I do, I'm very proud to say I actually do have passions, a lot of people. And you know them as well as I do. Don't have things that really juice them up. Yeah. And for me, it's like it's bass fishing and I don't do nearly as much of that as I used to. It's kind of what happens when you start a business. You know, I started a bass fishing business. Woo! Tungsten. And the more time I would spend working with the business, the less time I spent actually catching the fish. But I also, you know, I have a guitar over here. You have a guitar behind you. That's a passion of mine. Yep. But I could definitely be doing more of that. Yeah. Well, again, it's like it's scheduling these things.
Starting point is 00:25:16 And that's it's not, it's not doing it in my free time. It's making time free to do that. Yeah. You nailed it. There you go, man. impactful work where you're at. I'm at a four because I think that a lot of the message of my podcast, hell, what we're doing right now, I feel is impacting, even if it just impacts one person, that's the goal here. And I end every podcast talking about gratitude because I think that that's a practice, a lot of people don't do. So every time I go to like an event, I have people say like gratitude that changed my life.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Like thank you so much for like bringing that to the forefront for me. So I would hope that that's, you know, making an impact on some people. So it is, man. Four for that, but I would like that to be more as well. Yeah. Again, you know, this is just a baseline. And, you know, we can talk about ways to improve it. But I 100% think, man, you're making a great impact and, you know, keep on keeping on.
Starting point is 00:26:16 So let's get to end, nature connection. The last one here. I have a three for that. And I feel, again, very grateful that I live in California. the beach is not far, the mountains are here. Rachel and I go for walks or hikes almost every day. And I just did a Spartan race recently. I love being able to be outside and be energized,
Starting point is 00:26:39 but wish I could do it more. And I'm so grateful that we just bought a house recently. So we actually have a backyard we can walk out to, which is very different from when I lived in an apartment building. Yeah. You could walk out to a tiny little, patio, but yeah, that's a three, but that really fuels me. Oh, yeah, same, man. And nature is, we're so, it's so lacking right now, too. I mean, we are breathing in recycle
Starting point is 00:27:08 there. We're soaking up toxic blue light and we're getting beamed by our devices and all the 5G, you know, Wi-Fi signals from it. Then we get into our vehicles and, you know, get the same thing, recycle there and toxic lights and all these things. And it's just like a cage that we live in. We have to get outside back to our primal roots. So that's why I even host those Montana Mastermind epic camping adventures where I actually take entrepreneurs into the wilderness for a digital detox. And there's something that happens.
Starting point is 00:27:40 It's called the three-day effect when you get outside of nature for three consistent days. It's just a complete reset of your biology and your circadian rhythm. And man, I'm telling you, the testimonials and success stories from these high-level entrepreneurs that I take into the wilderness on these trips, it's so phenomenal to hear because when do you actually disconnect for three full days? Like, it's hard to do, you know, but I'm telling you the breakthroughs, the epiphanies, the millions and millions of dollars that's been generated from that internal introspection.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Oh, it's phenomenal. So I highly recommend everyone to get outside nature more. So that is the 10 alignments. And I want everyone to listen and Chris to add up your scores. Okay. And if you're 37 or above, of, congratulations. You're a happy hustler.
Starting point is 00:28:27 All right. What's the perfect score here? If you're 36 or below. Yeah. 50 would be the perfect score. 36 or below, we got some work to do. And, you know, again, don't be too hard on yourself here because I know, you know, us high performers, we can get hard on ourselves.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Oh, I'm so close. Where are you? 34. Oh, man. I think, yeah, I could probably bump up my nature one a little bit. I'm probably spending more time outside. Anyway, this is the thing, guys. I want to really instill this one piece to everyone out there.
Starting point is 00:29:12 And this is the happy hustling principle numeral uno. Okay. You must give equal importance to each of these 10 different alignments. but you focus on one at a time. So you must give equal importance to each of these 10 different alignments, but you focus on one at a time. That means when I'm rocking the mic with CVV right now,
Starting point is 00:29:32 I'm 100% here. When I go to my championship soccer game tomorrow night, Men's League, I'm 100% there. When I go on my date night with my fiance step, I'm 100% there, right? And I think the biggest thing that most people are doing right now wrong or inefficiently is when they're at work, they're thinking about their family.
Starting point is 00:29:52 And when they're with their family, they're thinking about work. So they're doing neither to their best of their ability. That is powerful. That is so, so true that when you're at work, you're thinking about family. And when you're at home, you're thinking about work. Wow. Yeah. And it's just something that I've found in my own life.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Like, again, I'm not perfect by any means, nor do I claim to be. I'm just a reporter of what's working for me and what's working for my community and the happy hustlers that actually implement this system. And I actually have a whole book about this topic and it parliys with what I call the blissful balancer, which is that whiteboard fridge magnet that goes on your fridge that has all these 10 different alignments listed. Then you have an action task that's very clear that you are responsible for doing every single day. So for instance, for self-of-service, did you give 15 minutes of your time attention or
Starting point is 00:30:43 did you give your money or your expertise that day? Like it's binary. Did you do it or not? Working out. Did you drink a gallon of water and move the body for 30 minutes? It's binary. Yes or no. That way at the end of the week, you can see your actual blissful balance score in each of
Starting point is 00:30:58 these 10 alignments. And you know, hey, I'm slacking and, you know, passionate hobbies. I didn't go bass fishing this week. You know, it's like I only got a three, right? Or whatever. And that is one thing. I take my own medicine. I do this same assessment every single Sunday evening.
Starting point is 00:31:14 I look at my week in the past. and then I prioritize change accordingly. That's a big thing. I've heard a lot of high performers talk about, like doing that assessment on Sunday of the prior week and also planning for the week ahead. And I think that so many people don't take those 5, 10, 20 minutes, however long it happens to be.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Yeah. To even just look. And then, you know, the thing is, if you keep doing the same thing, you'll keep getting the same results. And I think a lot of people go, well, nothing's changed. Well, nothing's changed because nothing's changed. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah. So true, man. Yeah. So that is really important for everyone to just take stock in the reality, you know, right now. Like just be honest with yourself. And this is something that's just really transformed my life and all the happy hustlers that actually do it. You know, and it's it's not rocket science. You guys all seen it. It's not rocket science here. It's quite easy, right? To actually, you know, go through it. But to do it consistently. What's hard as being honest with yourself. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. So that's, you know, that's what the happy hustle is all about in the 10 alignment. So where's the best place that people can connect with you if they want to learn a little bit more? Yeah. If they do want to dive into this, I actually have the book. So it's called the Happy Hustle 10 alignments to avoid burnout and achieve blissful balance. And this is like some of my best work packed into 150 pages. Just it's funny. It's got pictures. It's got cheesy jokes, all sorts of stuff around it. And you can get it at the happy hustlebook.com.
Starting point is 00:32:53 It's actually free. All you got to do is just help out with shipping and handling. And then if you want the audiobook version, I actually narrate it. You can also get it on audible and whatnot. But you have an option to get the audio book there at the happy hustlebook.com. And then you could also get up, get the magnet, too, if you actually want to take it and implement it into your everyday reality. So, yeah, that's just probably the greatest place.
Starting point is 00:33:12 And then we also have the Happy Usa Podcast, which CBV was a recent, guest on how they recommend checking on that interview because you crushed it and dropped some hot fire on the mic but yeah everywhere you listen to podcast the happiest podcast yeah so we'll have these come out around the same time yep so if you're listening to this right now you can hop on over and listen to my interview with carrie over there and we'll just make that happen so carry what's one thing you would say you do every day that helps to ensure that you're living a happy life every single day every single day I wake up. I drink my green juice, you know, with my apple cider vinegar, my hyperhydrate in the morning with this green juice, this apple cider vinegar.
Starting point is 00:33:57 And I actually suffered from a brain injury, you know, like I actually almost died from carbon monoxide poisoning. I actually passed out unconscious. My dog saved my life just a couple months ago. So I've been taking these brain supplements to really help optimize my cognitive power. But even prior, I was deep down the biohiking rabbit hole. And just starting my day with green juice and hyperhydration and apple cider vinegar is an absolute game changer. As well as just moving the body, I have a rule every single day before I take a shower or a bath. I do naked push-ups or pull-ups.
Starting point is 00:34:37 So, yes, it's a little weird. What a sight to see. Yeah. Yeah, my fiance is just so immune to it now. She's like, oh, here he goes again. You know, but it's like my rule. It's non-negotiable. You know, it's like I'll just do as many as I can or feel like doing at that time.
Starting point is 00:34:53 But that's, yeah, two things that are just non-negotiable is my life. Let's break that down a little bit. When you talk about hyperhydration, what are you talking about? What do you mean? The first thing in my body is, you know, pure H2O with greens juice or green. paint powder, or if it's fresh green juice, apple cider vinegar. Typically, I put a little turmeric, cayenne pepper, you know, stuff like that. I make a nice cocktail to just zip me up and get the day going.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Gotcha. Same here. I mean, I've talked about them on a few different episodes, but athletic greens getting all that into me. Yep. And this is 32 ounces, so a quarter of a gallon. Yeah. This is the first thing I do every day.
Starting point is 00:35:35 I fill this up with water and down this. because you've just spent the last 6, 7, 8, 9, however long you were sleeping hours, not drinking anything. You're pretty dehydrated when you wake up. So a quarter of a gallon of water the second I wake up. And I know there's going to be a lot of people going, that's too much water, CVV.
Starting point is 00:35:54 It's like, well, actually, no, that gets everything all going. That gets everything lubricated and ready to move for the day. Yeah, you need. And most people are actually chronically dehydrated. So it's really important to, make sure you're not only drinking enough water, but the quality of water that you drink, you know, taking it a step further. That's a huge thing.
Starting point is 00:36:16 And I don't want to get too into the weeds on this, but. Exactly. I'm now a water snob for spring water. Yeah. I didn't realize until I started looking into it, how bad purified water is for you. There's nothing to it. Like, there's nothing in purified water other than the water. Like spring water has minerals in it that your body doesn't have to go searching for those minerals.
Starting point is 00:36:40 When you drink purified water, your body is searching for the minerals within your body and pulling it out. Instead, spring water is putting it into your body. Well, and there's a lot of toxins in the city water. You know, for me, I live in Montana. Man, we get great water. I got it right from the well. You know, it's got tons of minerals and vitamins and all sorts of good stuff that comes from nature. So, you know, if you live in a city.
Starting point is 00:37:06 In L.A., yeah. Yeah, you're drinking some rough stuff if you're drinking L.A. city water, that's for sure. But anyway, we don't have to go here, but just do your own research, purify your water. And, yeah, just make sure, you know, you do those naky pushups before your next hour and think of me. So much value here. And I think the great thing about this is even if you just take one of these things and implement it into your life, that's a big change from where you were before this. And I just want to acknowledge you, Carrie, for doing so much great work and for holding that mirror up for a lot of people so that they can gain that self-awareness about their own life.
Starting point is 00:37:43 So first of all, thank you for coming on here. But thank you for all of the work that you're doing. Thank you, man. That means a lot. And right back at you. I appreciate you and everything you stand for. And, you know, here to add value to you and your listeners any way I can. So, yeah, please reach out if I can support you in anyway.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Yeah, so where should people find you? Yeah, I mean, my website, if people are just like generally interested in more of my story, Careyjack.com, and, you know, there's like a contact form there. The book would be probably the low-hanging fruit if you want to take this and just like actually implement the happy hustle into your everyday reality, the happy hustlebook.com. And then, again, the podcast, the Happy Hustle Podcast, first episode you should, let's do is the one with CVV, faux show. So I'll end this with the question I ask everybody at the end because, you know, I love gratitude.
Starting point is 00:38:37 And I think it's a huge theme in my life. So, Carrie, what are three things in your life that you're grateful for right now? First, I've got to say, God. Truly, I've been leaning more and more into my spirituality. And I just think it's so important to have faith in something bigger than yourself. You know, I pray every day. My dad's Catholic. My mom's Jewish.
Starting point is 00:38:58 So I'm like, I'm a spiritual mutt, you know, like, really like I don't follow one or another. I just am very spiritual. You know, like I'm not one religion or another per se, but I really lean into God more and more every single day. I'm really grateful for my fiance and our wedding's coming up next month. So I'm grateful for her and her support and everything, you know, that she does for me. And my family as well, I'll loop that in, you know, under that second one.
Starting point is 00:39:29 I know it's cheating. But just like I have such, you know, such a great support system. It wasn't always this way, but I've cultivated it. You know, it's like being intentional because I have plenty of family drama. Didn't get into it, but there's a lot of shit there. And I don't want to, you know, let that, like that past hold me back from my future with them. And I think a lot of people get stuck in that negative story, that self-livening belief about their family and specifically their inner relationships. And you have to divorce that story and marry the truth as Tony Robbins.
Starting point is 00:39:59 says and like your truth is what you make it with your inner circle and you have to truly invest in that relationship as you would your health and your business so that's a big one number two i'm very grateful for it because i've invested in it and number three i would just say you know for the opportunity of life like we are living in and one of the most beautiful times in human history sure there's there's plenty of drama the economy war all the things but in reality like there's never been a better time to manifest your dreams. It's never been easier. We all have these super high-powered devices and, you know, the ability to connect with one
Starting point is 00:40:42 another and optimize every aspect of our life. Like, so right now, if you are not where you want to be in your reality, realize that that's directly correlated with your actions from the past. And you have to take stock and you have to be a count. And then you have to realize how much opportunity is truly out there for you. So I would just say to everyone, you know, one thing that I'm so grateful for is seizing the opportunity of this life and making the most of it. I love it.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Carrie, thank you for such a great conversation. Thank you, brother. I appreciate you. Peace and love, everyone. Thanks for listening. There we go, my friends. Big thank you to Carrie for joining us. Thank you for always being on this audio adventure with us.

Starting point is 00:42:11 We'll see you on the next one for some more insight. Jim Rome takes on sports. Why? Because I have a job to do with rapid fire takes. So I don't want to hear from you lava pigs on this notion today. No idea what you're talking about. You're complaining more. than you like to breathe air.
