Starting point is 00:00:00 All systems are going. Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Van Blaine! Okay, welcome back to the show. Excited. So excited that Millie Bobby Brown with us for this mini interview, this mini view, as I've been calling them. She's absolutely crushing it with everything that she's doing right now. And if you're a Stranger Things fan,
Starting point is 00:00:24 you know Millie Bobby Brown as 11 from the show. If you're an Anola Holmes fan, I don't even have to tell you this, but Anoa Homes too is streaming now on Netflix. She stars in that with Henry Cavill who plays Sherlock Holmes. Of course, we had Henry on the show last week. Love that conversation. If you haven't checked it out yet,
Starting point is 00:00:44 I'd encourage you to check that out after this episode is done. But make sure to listen until the end of this episode because my dog, Luna, that's the dog that I have with my fiancé Rachel. She's an elderly little chihueney somewhere between like 20, 12 to 14 years old. We don't know because she's a rescue, so we don't know her exact age. But Luna makes an appearance during this interview, and Millie was loving it. I was loving it, too. So make sure you stick around for that. I also have to apologize for my audio during this interview. I had my usual mic, this mic here, the Sure, SM7B, which is so good. That's what I'm talking
Starting point is 00:01:23 into right now. Right? It's the same mic I use for all of my virtual interviews. But for some reason, on this day when we recorded this, it was this interview with Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill. My computer defaulted to my webcam, Mike, which is a little bit echoy. So I just need to say
Starting point is 00:01:44 I'm sorry about that. And it's a lesson learned to always check your presets before you hit record. Oh, and if you have a friend or relative that's a Stranger Things fan or a Nola Holmes fan or a Millie Bobby Brown fan,
Starting point is 00:02:00 please share this episode link or the YouTube link for this interview with them so they can check it out as well. Okay, let's dive into this. Please welcome. Millie, Bobby Brown. Millie, make situations on this. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Doesn't we call you MBB, by the way? Because I give a lot of CBV myself. You do? Oh, no. If anyone does call me MBB, I would most definitely not respond and just immediately and tell them to call me Mills.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Oh, Mills, okay. What has Nola been up to since we last saw her? Anola, my goodness, what has she been up to? She is now created her own detective agency. It's not going very well because many people aren't trusting her because of her age and her gender. So she has to really prove herself this time. And just as she thinks she has to cut her losses,
Starting point is 00:03:01 this young girl comes in and takes her home. a wild adventure. There's this whole theme in this movie about proving yourself. And I'm so curious in your career, when did you feel like you really had to prove yourself? Actually, I think the first film, you know, I got obviously an incredible opportunity to be a producer on this, and I really felt like I really wanted to prove myself
Starting point is 00:03:23 and prove that I was capable of doing such a thing, despite my gender or age. And, you know, that's probably the moment. Do you feel like people like underestimate what you're capable of doing just because of your age? I think it can be done for sure. But I also think it's a systematic thing. I think that it's programmed within people to feel as though women or young women aren't capable of doing something, even if that's opening their own doors or holding an umbrella.
Starting point is 00:03:53 I think it's systematic things programmed in us. I think it happens every day, not just to do with my industry, but just in day-to-day life. And I think it's just slowly breaking those stereotypes and standards so that, you know, we are looked at as an equal. The United States Soccer Federation present the U.S. Soccer podcast. My name is David Goss, and I'm joined by my co-host, Megan Clemenberg. And now we're giving people an inside look at the World Cup. Times ticking. I think you can feel the intensity.
Starting point is 00:04:21 All the guys are wanting to really stake their claim. And they want to be on that World Cup roster. There's no doubt about it. Hosting the World Cup on the home soil comes with its pressures, but we're just really excited. just as the people are. The U.S. Soccer Podcast, presented by Henko. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. You and Henry seem to get along so well together in this movie and the first movie as well.
Starting point is 00:04:42 It's like off-camera. What do you guys like when the cameras aren't rolling? Well, I mean, it's, you know, he's an animal lover and so am I. So both of our dogs mean the world's to us. And I think we definitely have a common denominator there. But overall, I really am lucky to work alongside him. He's an amazing actor, and I've been very, very lucky and grateful. Is your dog with you today?
Starting point is 00:05:11 No, she, oh my gosh, despite her being my whole world. No, she goes to a very luxurious day spa that she goes and gets her grooming. But I miss her terribly. I mean, I'm like one of those people that looks at pictures of them. Like, I mean, I don't stop talking about my dogs. I have six dogs. And I, and I like, but my, my baby, Winnie the Pooh, she goes everywhere with me. She's my set dog.
Starting point is 00:05:37 And then I have my Great Dane and yada yada, but they don't come with me because they're bigger. And but they do fly overseas with me because I, I can't live without them for too long. And they all get along well with Cal, which is Henry's dog? No. No, Cal is amazing. I mean, he is so well trained and he is really, really a great dog. It's my dog.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Winnie. It's a smaller dog. Smaller dogs can be like just really temperamental and my dog. I have one myself. My dog. The little dogs. They're like whatever. Come out like shit. Smaller dogs, they're so highly, they're so high strong.
Starting point is 00:06:15 They're so high maintenance and that's what we need. Just like her mother. My dog Luna is the same way. She'll, she'll be called Luna. Here's, I'll have Luna say hello. Please. Here's Luna. She's wearing a little sweater.
Starting point is 00:06:30 for you. Hello, Luna. Hi, Mills. Well, congratulations on this. So good to chat with you. And Luna as well. Luna, she's like, she's a little chihueney. Doesn't she so cute? She's like, Dad, put me down. I was sleeping. Yeah, she was like, I was sleeping. Get back to your job. Pay for the rent. Thank you so much. She's awesome. So awesome. Big thank you to Mills, not MBB, Mills for joining us for this.
Starting point is 00:07:19 And you can see her and Henry Cavill in Anola Holmes 2. Streaming now on Netflix. Please share this episode with a Millie Bobby Brown fan or a Stranger Things fan or an Anola Holmes fan so they can check this out as well. Take a screenshot, tag us. It's just our names. She's at Millie Bobby Brown.
Starting point is 00:07:37 I'm at Chris Van Vleet. And this quote from Benjamin Franklin really speaks to me. And I mean, we've been hanging out for a while. You know enough about me to know that this is a type of quote that really like juices me up. Some people die at 25 and aren't buried until 75. And I never wanted to be one of those people. I never wanted to be one of those people who was like, yeah, you know what?
Starting point is 00:08:03 This is good enough. I'll just do this for the rest of my life until my life ends. So I would encourage you. that if you're feeling a little bit stuck or if you're feeling in a rut, lean into the things that you're passionate about, lean into the things that really lights you up. That's it. Be great.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Be grateful. Have an amazing weekend. We'll see you on the next one for some more insight. The Hammer Alley podcast, an 80s flashback mockumentary.
