Starting point is 00:00:00 All systems are going. Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Van Bleas! Oh, yeah, let's do this thing. Welcome back to another audio adventure on Insight. I'm CVV, Chris Van Fleet, and can you believe it? Yeah, one on one with the great one. Thank you so much for joining us on this episode. This is our 10th interview together.
Starting point is 00:00:26 And every time I share a conversation with Dwayne Johnson, I'm just blown away by his kindness and his just, generosity. He's both generous with the words that he says and also with the time that he spends with you. I actually ran into him the day before our interview. I was at the hotel where the interviews were happening with one of my best friends, Jake Hamilton, who's one of the most talented interviewers on the face of the planet. Seriously, go check out his YouTube channel. It's called Jake's Takes. So I'm standing there with Jake. Rock walks by and keep in mind, I haven't seen him in like four years.
Starting point is 00:01:04 He's done interviews with thousands of other people. And he comes right up to us. He's like, Jake, Chris, how are you guys? Chris, you're still in Miami? I mean, he's seriously on another level. And when I have these experiences and these interactions, it really makes me want to focus on being as present as I can be in every situation and as kind as I can be in every situation.
Starting point is 00:01:29 in every situation with everybody. And all of this is to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the chat that we had. And I hope that you enjoy this too. His new movie called Black Adam is out on October 21st. I saw it last week. He is a total badass in it. And if you are listening right now,
Starting point is 00:01:53 if you do enjoy this conversation, please, first of all, make sure you're subscribed. And also take a screenshot and share it so we can share it as well. The Rock is at The Rock. I'm at Chris Van Fleet. And please welcome the one, the only. Dwayne, the Rock Johnson.
Starting point is 00:02:15 So good to see you. You too. You're looking sharp. I always got to look good for you. Come on. You're good, man. Thank you for always being so kind, by the way. Thank you, man, for saying that.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I appreciate it. This is a good one to just stay on it. I like I always fun with this guy thank you not just on him come on yeah fuck get his I truly mean that I want to acknowledge you you're always so kind to me like I saw you last night and I haven't seen you in person in four years I'm like hey Chris good to see you good to see you man so that's your superpower being kind kindness you yeah look man I always say like being kind is and being nice uh and I got I heard a quote when I was 15 and I'll never forget it and I use it as my lead foot, by the way, like in life, which is it's nice to be important,
Starting point is 00:03:02 but it's more important to be nice. So good. And I still feel that being nice and being kind is truly one of the easiest things to do. Yeah. Because to me, it takes effort to be an asshole. Like you. You know. So if that's your superpower, what's your weakness?
Starting point is 00:03:21 Mine's pizza. Mine's tequila. It's a bad combo then, man. That's a real bad combo. So with everything that you've done in your career, wrestling, Hollywood, everything in between, that's such an amazing career. How do you define success? That's a great question, and you're making me think about this.
Starting point is 00:03:43 I'm going to take a crack at it right now. I would say I define success by having a positive influence on people. And in the world of entertainment, that is a small sector. But yet it can be very influential. and my goal in terms of the things that I do on this side of entertainment and some of the other businesses that I've started is the key, the number one anchoring element is to always make sure that people walk away feeling good. And that's important. Walk away feeling, walk out of the theaters feeling good, watching a movie. If they're watching it at home, they feel good when the credits are rolling. If there's a product that I've created and I deliver it, they feel good with that too as well.
Starting point is 00:04:26 So I define success by how it makes people feel. And I also would define success by raising some good babies if you're fortunate enough to have some kids. I would define success that way too as well. You're making me think, Chris. I love that. I appreciate it. The United States Soccer Federation presents the U.S. soccer podcast. My name is David Goss, and I'm joined by my co-host, Megan Clemenberg.
Starting point is 00:04:54 And now we're giving people an insight. look at the World Cup. Times ticking. I think you can feel the intensity. All the guys are wanting to really take their claim, and they want to be on that World Cup roster. There's no doubt about it. Hosting the World Cup on the home soil
Starting point is 00:05:07 comes with its pressures, but we're just really excited just as the people are. The U.S. Soccer podcast, presented by Henkoe, follow and listen on your favorite platform. I mentioned wrestling. You're keeping up with what's going on in WWA? I love wrestling, always. Yeah, absolutely. You want chat wrestling?
Starting point is 00:05:23 Do you want to? Let's do it. Do you acknowledge the tribal chief? I do. It's my family. Yeah. Yeah, he says he's at the head of the table, but I feel like that's you. I think those guys are, I think they're doing a great job. And I think what an interesting shift that the company has gone through this year, unexpected in many ways. But when unexpectations happen in that kind of way, in form and fashion, especially in that business, you've got to have the ability and agility to pivot, which they have. So with Roman, I think he's doing it.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Pretty good job. And the boys, too, the Uso's too as well. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Thank you. That was amazing. Absolutely, man.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Congratulations on this film. Thank you. Thank you again for always being so kind. It's always good to see you, man. Always good to see you. Yeah, you're doing a great job. I'm proud of you. Trying to keep up there.
Starting point is 00:06:19 What a guy. Gwain, the Rock Johnson, ladies and gentlemen, and I can only hope that one day we sit together for like an hour and have a conversation. It's just, it's always so great talking. talking with The Rock, and there's actually a little bit more to this interview. We edited out a little part of this that we'll share in like a few weeks. We just can't share it yet. And by the way, it's not about wrestling. You'll see what I mean once I post it. And I'm just super grateful for the opportunity to talk with people like The Rock and hear his definition of success. And I hope that
Starting point is 00:06:56 you got something out of this conversation, too. If you did, take a screenshot, take a screenshot, tag us at The Rock, at Chris Van Fleet. And The Rock said it during this interview, but what a great quote. It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice. So we'll leave you with that. Be great. Be grateful. We will see you on the next one for some more insight.
