Welcome to Investigate Earth podcast.
I am your host, Chad, alongside my wife, Sherry.
Say hello to the world, Sherry.
Hello, guys.
Sherry has had a tough week, so.
Yeah, so Chad's probably going to do most of the talking.
We've got to go easy.
She's been sick for, like, since Friday.
It's been a tough week for her.
And before that, I was sick with some stuff.
And so, yeah, it's not been too fun to say the least.
It's kind of been awards down here.
the past week.
But it is not COVID, at least as far as we know.
Just a sick at war zone.
Yeah, we don't think it's COVID.
We've tested not COVID, but who knows.
So anyways, on tonight's episode, this episode is Mark Hay's Murder, Part 3.
We had kind of been wondering and debating on when we were going to do the next episode.
And, you know, really, after the second episode, we really wanted to not do another episode
until we had people in jail or someone was, you know, at least a primary suspect where it was, you know,
hey, we know what happened.
Well, they do have suspects.
Yeah, they do.
But I'm just saying at least a primary suspect and they have them, you know, have them in, you know, in detention and they're, you know, asking questions and so on and so forth.
But unfortunately, we do not have that yet.
and but we do want to to talk about at least some of the things we've learned
vaguely you know we're not going to go into crazy detail about it but at least some of the
things we've learned since the last podcast now for those of you that are just joining
I would tell you to go listen to our previous two podcasts on the Marquez murder
you guys can go back and check those out this is out of hot spring Arkansas yeah it's
Hot Spring, Malvern.
Hot Spring County, Arkansas.
And so basically it was September of 2016 was when Mark Hayes' mother reported her son missing.
And then nearly two months later, his body was found in Hot Spring County at a, I guess you can call it an unofficial dump.
So it was basically a place that, it's not the dump, but it was a place where people go to dump stuff.
And, you know, there's a lot of places to have these, especially in a country,
it's pretty much where, typically, where dumps like this are.
Now, I've not seen this place, but like in a lot of places, you know, it's like in back roads and not a lot of people around.
Yeah, backcountry.
People just go dump their junk they don't want anymore.
Yeah, dump.
So it's not like an official junk where you dump where you take your garbage.
This is a place where you get rid of couches and bags and things you don't want and you just dump it and, you know, no one gets in trouble for it.
Exactly.
So, you know, so two months later, they found his body.
And it was, I guess you can say, parts of the body were found in different places, I guess.
Not different places necessarily like geographically, but at the location of this unofficial dump.
And sadly, Mark Hayes' mom is the one that had to find her own son's body.
Yeah.
So it was basically, I mean, there was.
was another murder going on at the same time that occurred right around the time the Marquay's murder occurred.
And it was a female by the name of Susan Cooper.
And just recently there was a conviction or two convictions in her murder.
And that happened, I think, no more than a week or so ago at this point.
I don't believe the sentencing.
Yeah, the sentence.
Sorry.
I don't believe the sentencing has happened yet, any of that stuff.
but that case is at least solved basically.
Now, to talk about like this county and just this whole situation is tough because it is, don't get me wrong,
there are a lot of unsolved murders out there.
There are a lot of missing people out there.
You know, there's a lot of circumstances that many families across the country go through trying to find justice.
for their loved one that either went missing or was murdered.
There are cases still to this day that are open by the thousands and thousands in the United States.
And so whereas I cannot particularly say why those cases are unsolved or why those cases still do not have someone in custody,
to me, based on everything we have found out,
the endless amount of tips and clues,
information that has come into the podcast
since our last podcast and even the first podcast.
You know, it's hard for me to fathom how this case is not solved.
Yeah.
Because, you know, just based on everything we know,
and we're going to go into some detail about this
and kind of what is being done about this as well.
But just based on what we have found out,
just since we've been doing the podcast,
and honestly, a lot of our time,
and we've kind of enveloped ourselves in the situation,
in the town of Malvern,
and in the county, in the atmosphere of the culture, the people,
you know, as much as we can here,
but there's just been so many people
that want this case solved.
And, you know, I don't believe this case is alone.
I don't believe this case is the only case that is connected necessarily.
And that could even include possibly Susan Cooper case.
So it's a very strange thing.
And so the reason I'm saying this is because, yes, there are tons,
there are thousands of cases that are unsolved and open investigations and cold cases out there.
but I would think that so many of those people have next to no information
and then you have this particular instance where there's a ton of information.
Now officially, Hot Spring County, I guess, did say they at one time has suspects.
They did have suspects.
That is, you know, I guess public record.
But keep in mind for everyone that doesn't know and has been listening, this is five years ago.
November 4th is going to turn into a cold case,
which we don't want to see happen.
We want justice for Mark.
I feel like everyone there are a lot of people.
All the tips have come in.
People know what happened.
Yeah.
We know what happened.
We believe we do.
Yeah.
I'm pretty confident we know what happened.
So getting into that, and we'll get into that, I guess, in the second.
You know, we played a, you know, a.
phone recording of the mother of Mark Hayes, I believe, was that on the second podcast?
Yeah, the second podcast.
And, you know, a lot of people reach out to us and talked and kind of just express their, I guess, surprise to how a government official, especially in a sheriff's department, especially a county department that is handling the case, would speak with a mother that has been just wanting nothing but answers right.
so to their son's death, someone that has invested their entire life. As some of you can probably
imagine, and you basically, and you have to imagine it. What happened in the conversation?
Well, no, we don't. No, I know, but I'm getting there. Okay, sorry. But yeah, I mean, as some of you can
imagine, you know, and you have to imagine, unless you've lost a son or a daughter or whatever,
you know what it must be to go through life not knowing but yet maybe possibly knowing these answers
I mean I think there's a lot of things that a lot of people know in that town and we know that now
I mean that that's something we know without a doubt and but to go through your whole life
and have a son and you know since his birth and and raise this kid and all this and then all of a sudden
he's taken from you.
And it seems like, you know, I guess as Americans, we just believe that when we call for help,
you know, help's going to come and they're going to rescue today, you know.
And it's getting scarier nowadays because everything seems like it's not what it used to be.
I mean, you know, you would think as technology progresses, you know, and it has.
In a lot of ways, you can catch murderers now very easily.
You know, we were talking about this the other day, rape kits, someone that rapes.
someone that raped someone, a female or whatever.
You know, rape kits are available now.
Back then, you know, back 20, 30, 40 years ago,
it was not as easy to convict someone on a murder,
especially a murder that involved rape.
Nowadays, we have technology that has progressed.
We have smarter education for law enforcement.
We have so many different resources.
And it just seems like in this county,
if you look at the situation and everything that's happening in this county
and everything that has happened,
and how many unsolved murders there are,
which possibly could be all connected.
We don't know.
We know some of these are.
But it just seems like that for whatever reason,
you would think this county is stuck in the 1970s.
Yeah.
You know?
And to what you were saying, too, about people being surprised.
Some people called in and said they were not surprised at all.
Yeah.
That happened.
Many people, yeah.
Many people have called and expressed their concerns about,
you know, they've been treated the same way.
You know, and I'm not trying to put anyone out there in the doghouse,
but I'm just saying a lot of calls and a lot of tips came from these people that are frustrated.
They feel like they're not being served, but they feel like they have to serve the department.
You know, they're working for them.
The people are not working for the sheriff's department.
And I think a lot of people were voicing their opinions to the frustration that they get
because it's happening over and over with not.
only Mark Hayes' case, but a lot of other people feel like they're not having justice served
because nothing's being done. You know, it's all about the sheriff department and not the people.
And I think they've got it kind of backwards. You know, the sheriff department's there to work
for the people. The people are not there to work for the sheriff department.
Yeah. Now, so, and here's the other thing is, you know, we don't know the sheriff's department
in whole. We don't know the sheriff. We don't know the deputies. We don't know. We don't know.
any of those people.
You know, we are only based in our opinions based on other people's opinions.
And this is...
And based on the calls and the tips and everyone...
A lot of people.
And there's tons of people are calling and saying the same thing.
Yeah, a lot of people have talked to us about the sheriff's department.
And so whereas, no, we don't know them individually.
But, you know, I'll go back to the phone call.
The mother that calls the sheriff, the sheriff and just ask for information.
extremely rude. I think we all know that. And it's something that I would guess that it's the last
thing you would want to do to a mother that has no answers. Although, you know, there's a lot of
obvious. There's a lot of obviouses in this case. But nothing has been done. Okay. So let's briefly
talk about, and by the way, this is probably not going to be a crazy long podcast because we do not
have someone in jail. We do not have, you know, any of this, but we are going to talk about
vaguely what we have learned and what we think we know and, and we'll go from there.
So we have personally not, as of today, 929, 2021, reached out to this Sheriff's Department,
hot spring county. We have personally not reached out to them. We have reached out to other agencies
and other contacts that we know,
and we are continuing that tomorrow as far as that goes.
But we wanted to start elsewhere in this based on information that we have gathered
and we have on the case because we think it is probably the most,
I guess you can say, the most fair way to kind of go about this.
the most, you know, let's take it a little bit away from, obviously, the Sheriff's Department
has had five and a half years to do this. And some of the information that the Sheriff's Department
has had during this time is some of the information we also have now. Okay. So it's been a lot of the
same names has been brought up. Okay. We won't mention names, but there's been a lot of the same
names. And when I say a lot of the same names, this murder, I don't believe, was committed by one
person or I'm not necessarily saying one person didn't necessarily pull the trigger could have been two
people but but there were multiple people that knew about this or were witness to it yeah or were
witnesses to it so on and so forth and then what happened after the fact of the murder people know about
people people know about that too people know about every single thing that happened in this
case. Wait, let me finish. I got to finish this because I don't want to get, if you start, if you say something, then I'm going to completely forget what I'm saying.
Um, but people know about what happened in this case. They know who killed Marquay's. Um, and they know who also was involved in the case. And I say they because it's multiple people. I mean, it's not one person. It's, um,
there are multiple people that know this information.
And we believe, at least, that we think we possibly know this information.
That's why we have been reaching out, and we don't know for 100% fact,
but we have been reaching out to law enforcement in regards to this case.
And so I think something's going to come down the pipe soon.
And I do believe that if everything holds true with what we know,
it would be convictable.
You know, I believe that the circumstances of what people have wrote in some anonymously that have told us.
And the only reason I say that, you know, is this just BS?
Well, when you have multiple people say pretty much the same story.
Right.
Yeah.
It's kind of hard to just brush that off and say, oh, no, this is probably BS or whatever.
We had multiple right-ins.
Multiple situations like that, I guess you would say.
And we've talked to multiple people.
Yeah.
So I think this case is going to be solved.
But what I don't understand is that some of this information from our knowledge has already been given to the shares farm before from what we understand.
Some of it.
Not all of it.
some and and you know is is that you know is that you know is that the sheriff's fault that something
has not happened as far as a conviction goes or at least bringing you know actually talking to
people i don't know right now the way i look at this is i the citizens of that county you know
it seems like you know they need to trust the law enforcement you know they need to trust the higher
They need to trust everybody.
And look, I'll be the first to say, I don't think this is an issue necessarily at just one little level.
And if that's the case, all of those people need to be held accountable.
And I believe they will be.
And the thing is, I don't care who you think you are.
You're not going to get away with what you might have been getting away with for years.
Because one day it's going to bite you in the ass and it may be very soon.
So, and luckily, we have great contacts in federal government and so on and so forth,
which is the only reason we wanted to do this podcast, or this episode to begin with.
We wanted to, we wanted to offer help.
And so part of this podcast, yes, we want to talk about the podcast, I mean, the murder,
we want to talk about the situation surrounding the murder, but we also want to let anyone know
that's involved in this is now's your chance, buddy, buddies.
because you're not going to be innocent for long.
And that includes everyone.
I mean, it includes everyone.
It's not one person.
It includes everyone no matter how superior you think you are or how little you think you are.
It's going to bite everyone in the ass.
And, you know, if you look around you, there's all kinds of stuff going on in that county that just, it just keeps going.
I mean, it's like not even, nothing that has to do with the Marquay's murder.
is indictments or, you know, charges against, you know, previous officers.
And there's a child porn case now that, you know, was a previous detective.
The FBI has been investigating.
This is a place that needs to be cleaned up on all levels.
Yeah, and look, and keep in mind, we don't know everyone that needs to be cleaned up.
And keep in mind, the Sheriff's Department, on the Sheriff's Department level, particularly.
Let me just say this.
The Sheriff's Department level in particular, we do not have proof that anyone is corrupt there necessarily.
At least currently that I believe, it's just the way this whole situation has been handled is not good at all.
And it just seems like there's a reason that it's being or has been handled the way it has been.
But I do believe there's a bigger
I don't know
It's almost like a shadow government
Behind this
But in a really small scale
So if you think about a really small scale
Shadow government
It probably leads you back to like
I don't know one person or two
Probably one
I don't know
But all I'm saying is
Is that
It's crazy because some people
To get in power
They feel like they're untouchable
And in some cases
some people are untouchable for a very long time until they're not, right?
And I believe that, you know, the good thing is our podcast has millions of downloads.
And I don't say that to brag.
I simply say that because a lot of people listen to us, a lot of law enforcement listens to us.
We have relationships with law enforcement, federal government.
We have a lot of relationships with a lot of people.
And not just from this podcast.
We do a lot of other stuff outside of this.
We've done it for years.
So we have a lot of people that we talk to and we have a lot of people that,
you know, is aware of the situation on a national level, you know, not just on a little Arkansas
level. And so we're dealing with them and giving them the information that they need and
they're going to work with us. And that's a good thing because, you know, I think that this
situation and that small town is too big for that small town. It needs to be brought to someone
that deals with really big things. And talking about a small town, I think there's less than
probably 10 police officers that are in charge of this small town.
The county or whatever.
Or county or whatever.
And I think with the amount of crime that's going on in this county, they do need more support there.
Well, I just think, yeah, I mean, even as far as just, you know, and I'm not saying this county is like, you know, like Chicago.
But what we are saying is when you have a small county and you have cases that are unsolved.
And there are other cases besides Marquazza's unsolved.
Murders.
You know, people, people, or disappearances or whatever.
And bodies that people feel like they know where they are and they're not being found for one reason or another.
Yeah, I mean.
There's a lot of things that we've heard that were like, our mouths just hit the ground.
Like, are you kidding me?
Yeah.
Like, it's almost unbelievable.
Exactly.
But, you know, at this point, what we want to do is we want to just, you know, we want to bring awareness to the people out there that think they're innocent or not think they're innocent.
they think they're going to get away with this forever you're not,
because we probably pretty much already know from, I would say 90% know.
I was saying we 95% know who killed him, 95.
And we probably 95% know of the people that were also involved in that.
We pretty much know how that all even took place.
From the time he was killed, where he was killed, how he was disposed of,
how long it took them to dispose of him.
we pretty much know everything
on a lot of levels
and
and we also know too
when we talked about it in the first podcast
there is hearsay
that there was actual videos
going around of his murder
that are still out there somewhere
yeah and I know someone has it
well they'll know they'll know when they get
when they get arrested
you know and it probably won't
you know I mean I don't know
I would like to have faith in the sheriff's department
that they make an arrest in this case before the government does,
you know, before the federal government does,
because that's what's going to happen.
It's going to have to.
I mean, if the sheriff's department doesn't,
the FBI will have to, right?
I mean, that's just the way it is.
I will say, I will go on record that, you know,
the state police in Arkansas have not been very helpful
in certain aspects for whatever reason, don't know.
Not really concerned about that at all,
because that's really not the way we were going.
anyway, but it is just strange.
Like everything that has happened in that county and just that state, it just makes me wonder.
Like, not wonder, but it's just weird.
I mean, in South Carolina or North Carolina, wherever it is, you know, things like this happen
everywhere.
But it all depends on how states handle it, how they handle their sheriff's departments,
how much accountability the sheriff's departments are upheld to.
And by the way, I want to say again, I'm not necessarily saying that this is the sheriff's
fault, but I'm not saying it isn't. And depending on what is true of what we kind of think we know about
what the structure of this whole thing looks like, right? It's really not that big either.
I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a bigger structure and a small structure.
But a lot of times small structures have a lot more power than the bigger structures, right?
And so, so, you know, if you look at it that way, it's really not that complicated.
And just so you know, you know, we talked about in the second podcast that they did at one time have a war room set up about Mark's murder.
And these detectives had everything laid out.
They're looking at everything.
Well, we've kind of made our own room here at the house.
we're you know we're you know we're you know we're not detect us by no means but if we can get this
solved and help them get it solved I'll do anything whatever it takes yeah well you're not
dying I mean I've been in a long horseman yeah you have I'm like an unprofessional one
I'm one of these people um but I just I I want to I want to stress that um this
be our last podcast to give anyone that had to do with this a chance to save your own ass before
you have no chance to be saved in this. And that includes anyone involved because I'm telling you,
you can mark my word right now because the next podcast we do, people will be in custody one way or the
other. And I'm just letting the people know if you had anything to do with it or know anything about it.
That doesn't necessarily mean you're going to jail, but if you get brought in and didn't go forward with anything you knew, then you're probably going to jail.
If you go forward, then, you know, there's such thing called immunity.
And so I did just want to make sure everyone understands that before it does happen.
And, you know, that's really the main point of this podcast is we have found out a ton of stuff.
it's crazy what's going on.
It's crazy this hasn't been solved yet.
I'm still surprised it hasn't been solved.
But, you know, I also, I don't know the inner workings of the Sheriff's Department.
I don't know what they have been able to do, whether or not these people have talked to them.
I've heard, I've heard in some cases, some people said they have went to them and said some of the things.
Not, you know, but I just, it doesn't make sense to me.
and it's almost as if they don't want this case solved for whatever reason.
And there's a lot of people know a lot of stuff about this case.
I mean, a lot of people.
Yeah.
I mean, it surprises me.
And a lot of it is pretty...
Known.
It's pretty rock-solved.
And a lot of it is pretty convictable.
I mean, you have these people as witnesses.
That is convictable.
That isn't hearsay.
It isn't any of this other stuff.
It's...
You have this in the court of law.
you're going to jail forever.
So I don't know if Arkansas has death penalty,
but I'd be curious about that.
And keep in mind, you know,
that's the other thing people have to think about.
If you're involved in this in any way
and you get brought in without going forward first,
you know, there's a lot of options that you are,
it's completely, instantly taken off the table.
So then you have no leverage.
So I don't know.
I just, I guess I'm surprised that this happens in small towns like it does.
I mean, I'm not surprised.
I'm not surprised.
I am surprised with just how much information it seems like so many people have and nothing.
Well, and the sheriff department has.
Yeah.
Well, we don't know everything the sheriff's department has for sure and doesn't.
I mean, we know a lot of it.
There's a lot of, there's a lot of information that at least I believe with the information I know they have that they could have done something, I believe, more so.
and that's what I really question, you know, as far as why they wouldn't have.
I mean, I don't question that now because I think I know that answer 100%, but possibly.
But it's going to be solved.
And I hope that the Sheriff's Department solves it before.
I mean, I just hope they attempt to, you know.
But I mean.
Along with these other cases that are going on, you know.
We first came to this case because of Marquay's.
And that's our number one goal right now is to solve Mark Hayes' murder.
But in doing so and interviewing all these people and getting to know this town and this county,
you know, we have found out so much about this county.
And it's just like, I don't think I'd ever want to live there.
I'd be scared to live there.
I want to live in the middle of the woods somewhere is where I want to live.
I mean, the way this country is getting nowadays is ridiculous.
us. And guys, and by the way, thanks to everyone that has reached out to us. Yeah, thank you guys.
We appreciate it. You know, we're not going to. Yeah, I mean, thanks to everyone.
Yeah, thanks to everyone that has reached out to us, whether it be anonymously or not. Some
people have reached out and said they wanted to be anonymous, but, you know, didn't want us to speak about.
They trust us enough to do that. And obviously, we're not doing that. And we never will do that.
So anybody else that has any information, please, you can, we say this again, you can contact us at Contact at InvestEarthpodcast.com.
Many people would like to reach out to us on Facebook at InvestEarth Podcast.
We do have a Facebook page.
We have an Instagram, even though we don't deal with Instagram a lot, but we're always, you know, we'll check that as well.
Any avenue you can reach us, we are definitely here to listen.
this is a mother that went through this for five years now and you know we've been you know we have
a vested interest in this because it's something that needs to be solved I think it can be solved
100 percent I think it's about to be solved and and we've been excited about that we've been
excited about the information that we've got and we're excited because we think justice is going to
happen and it's about time because it is about time because there's a lot of families out there
that may never know who killed their loved one or whatever.
And like I said, the enormous amount of information in this case in comparison to so many is just on another level.
I mean, you just typically in law enforcement, you don't have this extensive of information.
You just don't.
I mean, and to have this much information, and this is one of the reasons that, you know, I know Ms. Hayes has not always had all.
this information, but she's had a lot of information over the years and has always felt like
she's been neglected and not cared enough about to try more to solve the case. And yes, Mark's not
the only one that is an unsolved case in this county. So hopefully, hopefully things change there.
And I mean, and I think depending on what we know and what we've kind of heard, it's going to take some changes to make changes there.
And, you know, and the lead investigator, if he's not been investigating and he's kind of put the file in the cabinet, he needs to get the file out of the cabinet and he needs to work the case.
Yeah, I mean, he needs to be doing that now.
I mean, they're, you know, what are you working on?
Like, Walmart cases of theft, shoplifting?
I mean, what is it?
I mean, if you're an investigator, maybe the only investigator,
and I've never really done investigation before, we've heard,
you know, you probably should start with, you know, a murder because...
The first case you got.
Yeah, I mean, it's, that's going to be something that...
I think you need to solve that first.
Yeah, that will take you a long ways.
But hopefully, you know, hopefully that it doesn't even come down the Sheriff's Department
and if everything comes through like we think it is.
and then you will have not solved a murder.
And especially if there's, you know, what I will be curious is that once all the information,
I would love to know like what they, what information the Sheriff's Warmer has had.
Because when feds or whoever comes through and says, okay, so we have all this information,
let's see what information you guys had.
You know, because if there was a lot of information they had that they could have solved this case already,
that looks really bad.
And unfortunately, they have a lot of bad publicity and bad press right now.
as it is, you know, so.

You'll see it.
Yeah.
So, do you have anything else on this for tonight?
I mean, I wanted to just get out that, you know, I wanted to let people know what we,
what we have learned, which is nuts.
I mean, it's been crazy.
Yeah, I feel like I live in this county as much as I've researched.
Like, my eyes get blurry.
And as much as people will talk to us about this county.
Yeah.
And just continually.
Well, the researching that leads, they tell us, as soon as somebody tells me, I'm on, you know,
I'm researching it.
I'm looking at it.
I'm trying to figure out, you know, everything.
Yeah.
And yeah, and thankfully, a lot of these people have put the pieces together for us.
And it's just kind of like, okay, here's this piece and this piece and this piece.
Literally so many people are like, well, here's the deal.
This is exactly what happened.
This is how it happened.
And multiple.
And, you know, it's just, it blows my mind that this is a situation that probably could have been solved a long.
time ago. But I'm glad that this podcast is bringing to light so many of things that that should
have been probably brought to light before. And I will say it one more time. For those of you that
know about it or involved in it, your time is running out. 100%. It's not going to last much longer.
You're not going to be free much longer. And for those that were not actively involved in the
murder that knew about this and, you know, not going to say, I mean,
Maybe we've said this to other people before.
You probably should come forward.
So, and I know a lot of you, and even people that, you know, even people that think they know or heard from this person or whatever, every piece of information is important.
Yeah, every piece, yeah, even if you don't think it is, it all is important.
And so I encourage you all to do that, to save your own ass if you have to.
and that's basically, I don't know.
I mean, I don't think I have anything else.
I do think that you guys will be hearing from us on this podcast very soon
because the next podcast, unless something else crazy happens,
is either going to be someone or people, multiple people probably convicted
or at least brought in under charges of murder
or conspiracy for murder, or not conspiracy, but accessory,
because there will probably be quite a few of those.
Mm-hmm.
you know,
destruction of evidence
and so much stuff.
I mean,
we won't even go until all of it.
Crazy.
But for those of you
that are out there
and you think you're staying innocent,
you're not going to for long.
So, but that'll do it
for this one.
And until next time,
we love you guys.
Thank you for listening
to Investor Earth Podcast.
And we will talk to you again
when people were in jail.
See you later.
I've been feeling this way.
for far too long
